The name's Kalingga Narendra—feel free to call me Lingga, or honestly, any nickname you'd like to come up with. (I love new pet names.) Any pronouns are fine, but I tend to lean toward masculine terms. I'm an INFJ and a Sagittarian, by the way. I love to listen, yet somehow, I always end up talking more than I planned. I just love to interact! Though... sometimes leaves me feeling drained a bit faster than expected.

I keep this account unlabeled as I sometimes slip into the role of a writer (even if I might be an "amateur" one). In case you're wondering, I'm in my 20s. Parchment, 2022

An installation of community collected parchment papers exploring the mark made by baking challah bread for Shabbat, leaving an imprint of memory.

Challah is often associated with an Ashkenazi egg bread bearing an artfully twisted exterior and a slightly sweet, fluffy interior. But the bread shared at the Shabbat table varies widely from Ethiopian dabo to the slow baked Yemenite kubanah bread to a coiled Sephardic loaf to the pita often enjoyed by artist Rob Shostak’s Syrian-Jewish family. Recently, Shostak took up making the braided loaf weekly. He noticed unusual golden-brown markings left on the parchment paper which revealed the distinctive underbelly of the challah. He set out to gather similar papers to create this installation. Week by week his collection grew as friends and strangers dotingly saved that which is usually discarded. 

Post-bake papers arrived from across Canada and the United States, as well as Israel, England and Germany. Novices and food industry pros, rabbis and artists, Jews and Gentiles, the observant and secular, children and grandparents viewed these accidental prints as snowflakes, finger and footprints, even Rorschach tests. Each sheet is as unique as its baker while retaining a consistency and familiarity akin to the tradition itself, with the oven acting as the serendipitous darkroom “developing” images onto the page. The slow, intentional yet unpredictable manner of assembling these materials mirrors the staggered, capricious nature of making challah. This baking process is, in turn, similar to the adaptability of Jewish life – some push and pull, absorbing local flavours, responding to the surrounding conditions, and experimenting with the ephemeral, essential ingredient of time. 

Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel wrote of Jewish ritual as “an architecture of time” calling Sabbaths “our great cathedrals,” rather than grand sacred monuments. In this exhibition, the fleeting way time is marked by the weekly celebration of Shabbat (the seventh day of rest) is made visible in these parchment papers. Shostak explores the impermanence of memory and Shabbat rituals—candles, wine and bread are all consumed—as these flimsy pages become an archive of that which disappeared months ago.

When the pandemic dashed Shostak’s ambitions to host large Friday night gatherings, baking challah became a small gesture to enliven Shabbat dinners for two with his then-new partner. For FENTSTER, this intimate experience expanded into a collective effort during a period marked by separation. The Hebrew word ‘challah’ stems from an ancient Jewish practice that continues today where a portion of dough is set aside as a sacred offering. Participants in Shostak’s project shared with us the significance of setting aside time to bake challah: reclaiming ritual, tasting nostalgia, marking the ebb and flow of the week, connecting to children, parents, partners and friends. Together, this community of bakers set aside their parchment prints—simple offerings with love and legacy baked in.

Catatan Malam Minggu #34

Beberapa kali baca buku tentang habit; seperti Hello Habits dari Fumio Sasaki, Atomic Habits dari James Clear, dan Zen Habits dari Leo Babauta. Tak cukup satu buku, perlu melihat sudut pandang dan cerita pengalaman yang lain.

Sebetulnya beberapa kebiasaan sudah berjalan dengan baik sejak lama, tetapi konsistensi masih naik turun. Maka aku baca buku untuk menjaga semangat dan konsistensi melakukan kebiasaan-kebiasaan baik yang produktif serta tidak membuang waktu berlalu sia-sia.

Contohnya ini yang baru saja mulai aku lakukan. Membuat alarm sebagai batasan. Pukul 03.40 batasan aku harus bangun pagi. Sekitar 30 menit sebelum subuh, beberapa menit untuk berusaha terjaga sejak bangun tidur dan usahakan untuk dapat sholat tahajjud. Aku bukan seseorang yang bisa langsung beranjak ketika bangun tidur, pasti butuh untuk bengong dan memikirkan apa yang aku mimpikan dalam tidur.

Pukul 15.15 ini adalah batasan kegiatan siang hari. Sebetulnya lebih sering digunakan sebagai alarm bangun tidur siang, jadi jam berapapun aku tidur siang aku harus bangun jam segitu untuk persiapan sholat ashar. Ini terkesan sepele, tapi aku membutuhkan ini karena aku sering kebablasan ketika tidur siang. Misal aku baru selesai kegiatan siang pukul 14.00 terus tidur, kemungkinan aku bisa bangun pukul 16.00-16.30. Itu akan menghambat kegiatan sore hari.

Pukul 21.30 adalah batasan aktivitas malam hari. Pada waktu tersebut aku harus meletakkan handphone jauh dari tempat tidur, lalu merapihkan dan membersihkan tempat tidur. Kemudian aku membersihkan diri seperti sikat gigi, cuci muka, sikat kaki, bahkan luluran singkat pun akan aku lakukan supaya tidurku lebih nyaman. Tentu jangan lupa untuk berwudhu sebelum tidur. Hal ini aku lakukan supaya aku tidak begadang atau tidur terlalu larut malam.

Batasan-batasan waktu yang dibuat ini membantu aku untuk tetap produktif dan tidak menyia-nyiakan waktu. Terlalu asyik beraktivitas terkadang membuat lupa waktu tidur sehingga akan begadang dan akhirnya bangun terlambat sehingga urusan berikutnya pun akan terhambat.

Aku melakukan beberapa challenge untuk kebiasaan-kebiasaan baru. Menjadikan hal tersebut sebagai sebuah tantangan yang tercatat membuatku ingin terus melakukannya. Terkadang aku pun memberikan self-reward setelah melalui berbagai macam tantangan tersebut.

Jujur melakukan tantangan ini terinspirasi dari akun YouTube Matt D'Avella yang sering melakukan tantangan, seperti hari tanpa gula dan lainnya. Ini cukup ampuh, aku pun pernah menyelesaikan 30 Days Vegan Challenge.

Tak lupa aku berusaha mengevaluasi diri dengan menulis Habits Tracker. Disini aku menulis tentang apa saja yang aku makan, ada kejadian apa, dan kebiasaan-kebiasaan yang sudah dilakukan.

Sengaja menulis jika hal itu sudah tercapai, bukan terlebih dahulu merencanakan.

Seperti yang aku katakan di awal tahun, aku ingin hidup tanpa resolusi. Aku ingin membentuk sebuah kebiasaan, seharusnya itu sudah dilakukan secara otomatis tanpa direncanakan. Maka ketika ada kebiasaan baru yang ingin aku bentuk, aku akan membuat challenge selama 30 hari.

Jika kebiasaan baru belum terbentuk setelah 30 hari mencoba, maka aku harus mencoba lagi atau mengganti ke kebiasaan yang bisa aku lakukan atau tidak memberatkan.

Aku pernah berhasil 46 hari menulis Habits Tracker, setelah itu sempat skip sekitar satu bulan. Aku ingin uji coba apakah benar kebiasaan-kebiasaan itu sudah menjadi otomatis sehingga tidak perlu lagi untuk evaluasi diri.

Nyatanya tidak. Habits tracker bukan sekedar catatan biasa. Ia adalah penilai objektif, dan membantuku untuk bermuhasabah. Sebab terkadang aku alpa dan sering memaklumi diri sendiri ketika sedang lelah, namun banyak alasan ini yang malah jadi kebiasaan.

Hidup dengan 'teratur' memang terasa melelahkan dibanding hidup 'seenaknya' bebas tanpa rencana tanpa evaluasi. Tetapi seseorang yang biasa-biasa saja pun perlu hidup yang sehat secara lahir bathin.

Bukankah 'Demi Masa' sebagai pengingat kita? Untuk tidak membiarkan nikmat sehat dan waktu luang menjadi sia-sia.

Pergunakan dengan sebaik-baiknya apa yang telah Allah berikan. Aku sedang berproses, tolong didoakan agar istiqomah pada jalan kebaikan. Aamiin.

This is a story that started in 2017 when I was still a middle school teacher at (unfortunately now closed) Catholic school. I went to Hoa ‘Āina O Mākaha farm as part of a school wide field trip and toured the land with the rest of my students. It just so happened that during this time my paternal grandma had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. As we worked together to figure out hospice services, my grandma decided on the St. Francis Healthcare System which was named after St. Francis of Assisi. My grandma loved St. Francis (she wasn’t Catholic) but she prayed to St. Damien of Molokai as well as St. Francis for healing. I was going through a lot emotionally and in terms of faith at this time, but when I went to the farm, I learned that two of their patron saints were also St. Francis and St. Damien. On top of it all, I noticed that there was a red torii gate in one of the fields. Vermillion torii are symbols of Inari Ōkamisama who is now one of my gods and a god of agriculture. I recently reconnected with Gigi, the caretaker of the farm who is also an Italian Catholic priest and activist. Gigi not only invited me today to pay respects to St. Francis and St. Damien but he gave me a tour of the farm and gifted me with two huge bok choy (Chinese cabbage) heads harvested right in front of me. This visit was not only healing, I feel like I started this new month right. Thank you, Gigi and Hoa ‘Āina O Mākaha for having me. I’m so glad I had this experience. Gundam Hathaway Anime Film Takes Off with New Promo and Visuals

  Last week, the official website for the Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway anime film trilogy promised updates regarding the main voice cast and other aspects that were being changed from previously released materials. This and more came to be during a recent live stream, which included the debut of a new promo and visuals for the upcoming project.

  [ALEXANDROS] has been revealed as the theme song performer. 

  Kensho Ono leads the voice cast as Hathaway Noa, a role that previously went to Nozomu Sasaki in 1988's Char's Counterattack. Check out his character visual below, followed by other additions and designs. 

    Rena Ueda voices Gigi Andalucia.

    And Junichi Suwabe voices Kenneth Sleg.

    The first part of the trilogy is currently set to be released in Japan on July 23.

  Senkou no Hathaway/Hathaway's Flash was written by Tomino, one of the original creators of the first Mobile Suit Gundam TV series who served as director, as a sequel to his 1988 novel Mobile Suit Gundam Char's Counterattack - Beltorchika Children (based on his rejected first draft for the 1988 film Mobile Suit Gundam Char's Counterattack), and published for three volumes from Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko from 1989 to 1990.

  The story is set twelve years after The Second Neo Zeon War led by Char Aznable, and focuses on Bright Noa's son Hathaway, who secretly acts as "Mufti Nabiyu Erin", the leader of a terrorist organization called "Mufti" whose purpose is to assassinate The Earth Federation's leaders.

4. Franky VS Sasaki, Heliceratops!

Fokus utama One Piece 1019 ini, sesuai judulnya, tentu adalah pertarungan antara Franky dan Sasaki sang pengguna Buah Iblis Triceratops.

Menariknya, kemampuan Buah Iblis Triceratops ini ternyata tak terduga. Sasaki bisa menggunakan bagian pelindung di lehernya untuk seperti helikopter, mirip dengan kemampuan buah Guru Guru Buffalo, anak buah Doflamingo.

Kemampuan konyol ini sebenarnya bukan kali pertama Oda berikan. Sebelumnya, Kaku dan kekuatan jerapahnya juga diberikan kemampuan tak masuk akal dalam bentuk teknik Kirimanjaro.

Kembali ke Sasaki, teknik yang dinamainya Heli-ceratops ini membuat Franky agak kewalahan menghadapi musuh yang bisa terbang.

Apalagi pedang Karakuri Spiral milik Sasaki yang juga bisa berputar layaknya bor, membuat pedang Franky Shogun sendiri patah.

Pada akhirnya, Franky berhasil menang dengan mengorbankan Franky Shogun sebagai umpan lalu menembak perut Sasaki dengan Radical Beam!

Secara umum, pertarungan ini cukup seru dan banyak adegan kocak yang bisa membuat kita tertawa. Sayangnya, potensi Sasaki terasa kurang dieksplorasi di sini.

Dengan teknik Heli-ceratops yang unik dan pedangnya yang bisa berputar itu, seharusnya banyak adegan menarik yang bisa diberikan Oda. Sayangnya, Oda seperti kukuh ingin menyelesaikan pertarungan satu lawan satu ini dalam satu bab saja.

Apalagi dengan menggunakan Franky Shogun, Franky sendiri tidak terluka parah karena terlindungi oleh robot besinya. Akibatnya, pertarungan Franky VS Sasaki ini kurang terasa maksimal.

Wajar saja, masih banyak duel lain yang perlu diperlihatkan seperti duel Killer VS Hawkins, Black Maria VS Robin, atau pertarungan Kid dan Law melawan Big Mom.

I don’t think the games prior to the GO ones had the years on the character mini profile. I tend to forget who is in what year sometimes and the ina11 wiki doesn’t have their years listed (I think). Anyway, if you’re curious about who is in what year/grade here’s a (long) list of inazuma characters. It mostly contains GO characters but since you can recruit some characters from the original series I added them on here to.

Not every character has a year, some are labeled ??? or ADULT (Akizora Challengers/Golden Oldies team).
