Miraculous Ladybug: A Rewrite; Episode 3
Gigantitan
Synopsis: A toddler is upset when she cannot reach the cookie jar and is akumatized. While initially she wreaks havoc, targeting anything that looks edible in her giant form, It becomes clear that Hawkmoth cannot control her enough to get her to target Ladybug and Chat Noir, choosing to deakumatize her himself.
Villain: Gigantitan
Pacifier
Literally just a giant fucking baby
Conflict: Defeating Gigantitan
Key Events/Scenes:
Hawkmoth deakumatizes the baby himself, showing that is something he is able to do.
Chat starts to quip with Ladybug.
The heroes comment on the fact that this villain is a literal toddler.
Notes:
Marinette, Alya, and Nino are walking home together after school when the attack happens and Marinette runs off.
Adrien was on his way to go to his Mandarin lesson with Fu when they were attacked, he sneaked off into the library before seeing Fu.
Chat is much more like we see him in the main show, much more rizzler, but still not quite in full swing. He’s warming up, getting there, slowly but surely.

Enemies au ft. Ladrien for the ask game 👀 (hehehehe)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
@heartfulselkie @ladyofthenoodle @rosie-b
i see this is was a popular one (which is good because i'm actually dying to talk about it 😂). i haven't written much of this yet, but i DO have a complete 26-chapter outline (that i made during my writing "break"), and even though i'm trying not to get too deep into it yet because i have so many other projects, i also not-so-secretly want to be enabled. do with that what you will this fic would take place in an au that diverges from canon at some point early season 5 (post-elation at the latest but i haven't quite decided), and it's my rendition of sentiadrien being forced to help monarch. i want to play with how sentiorders might work and what loopholes might exist. but also the fact that adrien doesn't know he's a senti yet. he doesn't even understand WHY he keeps agreeing to help his father, and he hates himself for that and ladybug...is understandably not in a great place either. obviously she has more support than adrien, but she still feels the weight of the burden. she misses her kitty 😢. and even alya has some stuff going on in her life, so she can't be as available to marinette as she has been in the past
then ladybug and adrien run into each other after an akuma attack one day. and it's sort of an echo of strikeback, where she's at her lowest point, and even if adrien knows he should run away and leave her, he can't. not when she's hurting. and he starts to realize maybe he can still help her. maybe he's not useless.
and ladybug also starts to see adrien in a new light (because he's still allowed to go to lycee, he just...doesn't really talk to any of his friends anymore). she's been so distracted with her own stuff that she's pushed her feelings about him aside, but even if she can't overthrow monarch, even if chat noir is lost to her, maybe she can at least help someone she loves
so basically it's ladynoir enemies with ladrien helping each other pick up the pieces. where they both start at rock bottom but maybe they (with some help from their friends!) can start to help each other heal
i'll share the intro scene under the cut (since this is getting long) with the caveat that this is an early version i might still want to flesh out/rework/possibly rewrite completely
thanks for the ask(s)!! 💜
...
It was barely October. It shouldn't be cold enough for the air to burn on the way down, for each breath to feel like ice crystallizing in Ladybug's lungs. But it did.
It felt like she'd forgotten how to breathe.
Gigantitan toddled down the street, clapping his hands and using the occasional stopped car as stepping stones. Car roofs caved in as he advanced, bringing muffled screams from those who hadn't been lucky enough to flee  in time. And Ladybug could only stand there, backing away unsteadily as she failed to come up with a plan.
Part of her wondered if she should just give up. It would be fitting, at this point, to be taken down by a toddler. If she barely had the strength to get out of bed every morning, she certainly didn't have the energy for impromptu babysitting—even if the fate of Paris hung in the balance.
Maybe it was someone else's turn to care.
The voice in the back of her head—the one insisting she didn't really want that—wasn't loud enough to spur her heavy limbs into action. Instead she found herself wondering what the end would be like. When Monarch won, when he made the wish, would she feel the force of being torn apart, cell by cell?
Or maybe her end would come sooner. Gigantan was getting close now, and the silhouette of Monarch's mask flash across his face. But maybe he wouldn't be swayed by Monarch's words. Perhaps he'd keep smashing through the streets, and she'd be crushed like the cars he'd already left in his wake. Or maybe—
Someone slammed into her side, protective arms wrapping around her as they flew through the air, landing roughly and rolling until they slammed into the side of a building. Even with the suit, her hip was still throbbing from the impact when they stopped, her assailant hovering over her. She kept her eyes shut tight for a moment, breathing in his familiar scent and taking comfort from the arms bracketing her body—keeping her safe, the way they always used to.
The way they shouldn't. Not anymore.
Chat Noir's breath warmed her face as he pushed himself up, and Ladybug forced her eyes open to meet a pair of wide, worried eyes. Ones that sucked away any remaining breath she had left.
How dare he look at her like that? After everything?
"Ladybug, I..." He squeezed his eyes shut, his whole body stiffening momentarily. "I'm sorry."
A shiver travelled down her spine, zapping some life back into her. By the time she noticed his hand twitching in her periphery, she was already moving. Her fist connected with his cheek as claws grazed her earlobe.
Grunting, Chat rolled off of her. She sprang to her feet, hand moving to her yo-yo as she glanced back and forth between her two foes. Adrenaline coursing through her veins, she was starting to cobble together some semblance of a plan. But she needed more time, so she tossed her yo-yo around a nearby chimney and took off through the streets.
When she was certain she'd gotten enough distance from the fight, she stopped on a rooftop, resting against a chimney as she caught her breath, remembering the shock of green eyes boring into hers.
It shouldn't be cold enough yet for her body to feel so numb.

The Ballad of Sara Berry au Rewrite!:
So does anyone remember “The Ballad of Sara Berry” au post I did back on Oct 7, 2022? Well surprised I’m rewriting it because I want to and have been listening to the song on repeat a bunch of times. It's really good! And this time I’m not making Sara Berry or at least the person who is bad so like Chloé or Lila since Sara Berry just went insane due to the pressure that her father was putting her and before you ask no I’m not making Lila or Chloé Julie Jenkins since they don’t fit the character. So now that is out of the way let’s begin! @artzychic27 characters are in this au as well.
Characters:
This time, I decided that Marinette will be Sara Berry and Mireille will be Julie Jenkins for the rewrite au. And here is the reason why that is.
For Marinette, I thought about it more and more than realized that it would make sense for her to be Sara Berry. Just like Sara, she can be very obsessed with the things she wants like for example, wanting to date Adrien. Ever since season one, Marinette has shown to be a careful planner and she can (if she wants to) track people's schedules for her benefit and use it to her advantage like in Gigantitan. And Marinette would steal others’ things without a second thought. If it means getting what she wants, check that out in CopyCat and Oni-Chan for that knowledge. Also, Marinette would do anything to take out the competition since in multiple episodes, she is shown doing that even siding with Chloé in one of them also in different circumstances, she probably would kill someone for Adrien. And lastly, Marinette would think prom night was like a fairytale for her since she would want to be the perfect night with her and Adrien dancing under a spotlight while everyone watches her winning prom queen and everyone celebrates that she won. Point is, she would fit the role of Sara Berry including going fucking insane.
As for Mireille, I think before Julie Jenkins lost her leg in that wreck, she was probably in the background most of the time and was forgotten by most of her classmates which are pretty sad if you think about it. You only get noticed by your classmates after something tragic happened to you like losing one of your limbs, poor Julie she deserves better but anyway. Mireille in the canon was in the background and never in the fourth front even after becoming one of the weather girls aside from Aurore. Some of the fandoms don’t acknowledge her except if they want to make her a rival to Marinette like in that one comic. This led me to think that the writers would make her a rival to Mari if they wanted to, which is also pretty tragic when you think about it. But the reason I pick Mireille is that she is really easy to make a rival but not one that isn’t aware of it until well you know but I’ll get to that when I get to the plot section. In other words, I don't have that much to say here for this one. Mireille fits Julie well.
As for the victims of the prom massacre like the post I originally made, they are the narrators of this story and tell the audience what happened. When they’re first introduced they are seen as nothing but spirits with theater masks, ones that are very expressive with a little of how they died like getting cut into pieces or getting poisoned. They are probably wearing fairy tale-themed homecoming clothes like a prince and princess would wear for their coronation since they are getting nominated for homecoming queen and king. I will go in order of how they died, what were their reasons for wanting to be queen and king, and bolding who are the main narrators of this tale.
Mylène Haprèle - She wanted to bring more confidence in herself and thought the queen would be a great opportunity for that and even if she loses, she’ll spend time with Ivan and listen to him when he and the Kitty Section play some music, so bonus!
Rose Lavillant - She thought being homecoming queen would be pretty fun to do and thought having a spotlight dance with Juleka would be so romantic. And even if she doesn’t win, she still dances with Juleka and is going to have the best night ever with her friends.
Nathaniel Kurtzberg - Marc was the one to convince him, he would make an amazing homecoming king and that he would be at Nath’s side no matter if he won or lost. Also, Nath would love to try a crown on for a change.
Jean Duparc - He would show everyone that he can pull wearing a crown, especially people that said he can’t. And he doesn’t care if he is prom queen or king, he is just having a blast tonight.
Ismael Prisk - He wants some gender confidence in himself especially if he wins homecoming king. And he gets pissed off his mom at the end so that makes it even better.
Cosette Bellamy - Zoé convinced them that she would be an amazing homecoming queen and even said that she would be like a knight to them even if Cosette didn't win. Cosette loves the idea of Zoé being its knight and making at least its dad proud of it if it wins.
The last two characters I want to talk about are Adrien and Mrs.Bustier and what their roles are in this au, these roles are important to the story so this will be quick.
Adrien is Marinette’s boyfriend in this au and does break up with her for a reason. His relationship with Mari was okay at first even though there are some issues like how Marinette interrupts him sometimes in conversations and she makes it about her sometimes even if it is completely different but it wasn't a big issue for him to get concerned about. But when Homecoming came around, Marinette became obsessed with it. She expects Adrien to be homecoming king with her but Adrien doesn’t want to be the homecoming king nominee and tries to tell Marinette that but she doesn’t listen to him so he doesn’t say anything. Luka comforts Adrien when Marinette is too busy for him or isn’t using him to help with her campaign and Adrien grows to have feelings for him with each passing day. Luka does as well but doesn’t want to tell Adrien since he doesn’t interfere with his relationship with Marinette and doesn't want to cause Adrien more stress by creating conflict and drama between him and Marinette so he tries to be a good friend to him despite his feelings for Adrien. One day, Adrien took some of Luka’s and Nino’s advice and told Marinette he doesn’t want to be homecoming king and that they could talk about something else for a change but Marinette just gets mad at him and snaps. Marinette told him that he is being selfish and isn’t thinking about what she wanted, and she wishes he was more obedient to her. That makes Adrien realize that his relationship with Marinette isn’t healthy and told her he was breaking up with her but Marinette is too caught up to listen to what he says and thinks they are still dating. Some time passed and it was five more days before homecoming, Luka asked Adrien for his date for homecoming and Adrien said yes! Also, both he and Luka survive, and after some time passes after the homecoming massacre, Luka asks Adrien if he wants his boyfriend and Adrien says yes.
As for Mrs.Bustier, she is Sara’s father but is a teacher to Marinette in this au. She puts a lot of pressure on Marinette to be homecoming queen so she can set a good example to her classmates and if she doesn’t win, her whole family would be disappointed in her and Marinette took that to heart. So she is the same as the canon but her actions have consequences to them.
Now that I got to explain all the characters that I needed to, I finally tell you about the plot and what happens in it! Let’s begin, shall we?
The Plot:
The 1st Act:
Marinette Dupain-Cheng was considered a good role model for the students to strive to be. She was popular, had a supermodel boyfriend, was head of the student council and homecoming committee, and her parents had the best bakery in Paris. Mrs.Bustier says Mari was like a real-life superhero to the whole school and Marinette took that to heart. When Mireille Caquet lost her leg in a wreck, Marinette felt sympathy for her and gave her a sympathetic smile to her when she saw her.
When homecoming nominees were announced, Marinette was static especially when she saw her name on top of the list but was a bit surprised that Mireille’s name was below hers. Marinette heard from a couple of the students that Aurore signed Mireille up to be the homecoming nominee and thought she might win it. Marinette knew that they were only voting for her out of pity so didn’t think much of it at first. When class was over for the day, Mrs.Bustier asked Mari to stay for a bit so they could talk. Mrs.Bustier told Mari that need to be homecoming queen not only because it was Marinette's dream to be one but also to set a good example for her classmates since being homecoming queen is a big deal after all. The last thing Mrs.Bustier told her is she doesn’t want to disappoint her dad and mom, Marinette took those words to heart and after she left, started to get to work immediately on her campaign with the help of the girl squad even if they already wanted to help some of the other nominees but Marinette didn’t hear them and was focused on being homecoming queen.
The 2nd Act:
As weeks go by Marinette tries her hardest to make sure people voted for her by either giving them baked goods, handing out pins, or making a lot of posters, I mean a lot. But Mireille’s numbers were getting much bigger that they surpassed Marinette’s. Marinette was furious and even more determined & desperate to win. She brushes her friends, her boyfriend, the student council, her parents, and everything behind but she keeps imagining Mireille wearing that crown and she hates it. The more votes Mireille, the crazier and angrier Marinette got. She fought with Mylène and Rose a few days ago, when they told her that they were planning to be homecoming queen and wanted to focus on their campaign and thought Mari knew since their names were on the list of homecoming nominees but Marinette didn’t listen, and blew up on them, losing them as friends a long aside Juleka and Alix, with Juleka flipping her the bird for yelling at Rose for reason that isn’t a big deal. The whole thing was caught on camera and was on the internet to see which made people not vote for her and take back their votes.
When Marinette saw Ismael in the hallway, she asked him why he was trying to be the homecoming king. Ismael told her the reason, Marinette didn’t care and said him just wearing a tuxedo would make his mom pissed. Ismael felt offended by that since Mari just assumed he was just doing it to piss his mom and while that is true, he was doing it for other reasons. So he told her off and walked away. Marinette was mad that she couldn’t convince him to stop being homecoming king so her boyfriend could be king.
A few days later, she harassed Cosette about being queen, telling them that they should just quit since they just ended up being a disappointment to their parents either way. Cosette got away from her and told her that it not quitting whether or not Marinette liked it and she could fuck off for its cares. As Cosette walked away from her, Zoé came up to Marinette and slapped or punched her in the face and just glared at her as she walked away from her as well. What Marinette didn’t know was that Simon was filming it and it was uploaded on the internet which made even more people take back their votes for her and made them hate her guts even more.
Lastly, she demanded that Jean and Nath drop out of the competition or else, which Adrien sees and told her off for just trying to make them drop out of the competition. Marinette just glares at him and walks away, Adrien apologizes to the two for having Marinette been acting lately and understands they were mad at her. Jean told him, he doesn’t need to say sorry since he stood up for them, and Nath thanked him and then told him that Mari was acting like a homecoming-obsessed nut job and that Adrien might want to consider his relationship with her, which Adrien thought about for a while now.
Marinette’s parents have been concerned about their daughter lately since they heard what has been happening at school. They try to tell her that she may need to stop being homecoming and cheer up in the process but Marinette doesn’t listen to them since Mrs.Bustier’s words are still lingering in her head, so she tells them that she is dropping out, in reality, isn’t and just brushes them off.
Marinette ends up dumping Alya as a friend when they get into a fight, Alya says that homecoming isn’t everything and it is not going to be important in the long run. Marinette yells at her and tells her if she is not going to support, she could just leave which she points to the trapdoor. Alya, seeing that Marinette isn’t willing to listen, ends up leaving with a look of sadness in her eyes. When Alya left, Marinette looked at the mirror right quickly and upon seeing her reflection felt regret for all things she did so far and tried to text Adrien about what just happened but Adrien could only text that I’m sorry for taking someone else to homecoming and I’m no longer a nominee. Marinette ends up thinking he is taking Mireille (who no longer runs for homecoming queen but Mari doesn’t know that) to homecoming and ends up getting mad with a hint of sadness and throwing her phone against the wall.
Mireille throughout this, never really wanted to be homecoming queen and hated the attention she was getting since she just wanted to be left alone. Her friends see this and ask if she wants to be queen, she struggles at first to tell them at first but ends up telling them the truth. Aurore apologized for the unexpected pressure on Mireille to be homecoming queen since she just wanted to boost her confidence and make her feel better after Mireille lost her leg. Mireille understands where Aurore was coming from and says her comfort would be enough for her. So the two made up and Mireille asked Mr.Damocles if she could drop out of being homecoming queen with the help from Ms.Mendeleiev, which Mr.Damocles ends up helping her with. Mireille ends up helping her friends with their homecoming plans and just getting ready to go to homecoming with Aurore as her date.
The 3rd Act:
The next day at school and the day of the homecoming, Marinette went up to Mrs.Bustier asking for some advice. All Mrs.Bustier said is that why isn’t taking this seriously, there is no future for failures at prom, and she should try harder to be homecoming queen. Marinette just ends up getting mad and running out of school with her collecting some of the other nominee’s posters along the way and just ended up bunking with her. She punched the mirror in anger and stomped on her phone. She cried the moment she snapped and just ended up getting ready with a crazy smile and look in her eye. Marinette looked at the poster of the nominees and realized she needs to take out the competition so she can win. Putting on her homecoming dress, putting on her very messy makeup, getting a duffel bag, and putting the things she needs to ‘talk’ to the other nominees for them to get out of the competition goes to Le Grand Paris where homecoming was held.
When her parents got home, they went up to her room to check on her but as soon as they opened her trapdoor, they saw her room was wrecked. They walked in to see her mirror shattered completely and her phone destroyed. They look around the room then Sabine spots something underneath her daughter’s bed and goes to see what she looks like she saw a ghost. Tom saw the look in her eyes and went to see what she saw. He goes to his wife and checks if she is okay and what she saw. Tom felt horror when he saw the posters of kids that had their eyes crossed off and they all had the same word written on them, saying, traitor. The two cried for a moment before realizing they needed to get to the prom now before it was too late.
When Marinette arrived at the hotel, she went to see Mylène who was near the punch bowl so they ‘talked’ for a bit. She went to say sorry to Myléne for getting mad at her while adding some poison to her drink. Myléne told her that she isn’t ready to forgive yet but appreciated it, Mari said it was fine and walked away from her. Mylène is a bit confused and then goes to drink her punch but then starts to feel bad and coughs up blood. Ivan and some of the other students went to go check up on her, only to find out she died.
While that was happening, Marinette went to the stage to see Rose finishing getting her requirements packed up. While Rose is distracted, Marinette cuts one of the ropes holding one spotlight above Rose’s head which smashes against her head instantly killing her. Marinette left the stage before anyone saw her. Juleka goes up to the stage and cries over her girlfriend’s dead body while Luka comforts her.
While everyone is freaking out about the two unexpected deaths, Marinette stole Reshma, Marc, Zoé, Tomassion, and Aurore's phones to make it easier to find and lure in her other victims as well.
Marinette discovers that Nath is near one of the rooms and goes to find him. Meanwhile, the teachers are evacuating the students, Marc, Zoé, Tomassion, Aurore, and Reshma with the help of Juleka and Ivan go to find the other students that don’t know what is happening. Marc tries to text Nath but can’t find his phone and starts to panic, Aurore calms him down and tells him that it is okay and they find him and the others.
Nath spots Marinette with a hammer and seeing that her dress has some blood on it, realizes that he should run for his life. So he did but Mari jumped on him and before she could bludgeon his brains, he said oh shit before he died of the hammer strike on his head. Marinette texts Jean under the assumption of Austin T that he is in the kitchen and badly hurt. Making Jean believe he needs his help and making it easier for Marinette to find and kill him.
When they got to the place where Nath was, they saw his skull being cracked open by something and someone. Marc is completely heartbroken to see his bountonnière dead on the floor and just holds him close to mourning him. While the others mourn their dead friend and comfort, Marc, and Austin spots a note on the floor and picks it up. He opens it and then immediately has a shock of horror with a mix of disgust on his face. When Zoé asks what's wrong, he tells her and the others that Marinette is the one behind this and who is her next target. Marc and Juleka want revenge for their respective lovers after hearing that. They went to find Marinette and stop her so the rest of their respective S.Os wouldn’t die.
Meanwhile, Jean got to the kitchen to find his boyfriend but couldn’t find him. He realized that someone might have Austin’s phone and went to find him somewhere. But Marinette stops him by slaying him in the stomach with a scalpel, making a huge scar. When Jean collapsed on the floor, she started cutting him, opening and tearing his organs, and marinating them in jars. Ismael, trying to find his friends since he got separated from them by accident, opens the door to find Marinette standing over Jean's corpse. Ismael screams for others to find them and try to get a weapon to attack her with but Marinette knocks him out with chloroform and drags him and gets a chair then heads to the pool.
The others heard Ismael’s scream and followed it to the kitchen where they spotted Jean’s corpse with his belly area open and a look of terror on his face. Austin, seeing his boyfriend’s corpse, sobs and says he should've died instead of Jean. Seeing Austin in a depressed state, Ivan took him to where the rest of the students and staff are currently while the others are still going to find Marinette and stop her.
Meanwhile, Ismael is woken up by Marinette hoarily smiling at him. He tries to get up but he can't, and sees the restraints on his legs, hands, and mouth. Marinette tells him this is what you get for messing with my chances of winning, pushes him into the pool, and uses a remote for the automatic pool cover, leaving him for dead and killing him.
The others agree that splitting up would help them find the others quicker. Marc, Zoé, and Aurore go to find Mireille and Cosette while Juleka and Reshma go to find Ismael. Reshma & Juleka follow the bloody footprints up to the pool and when they get up there, Reshma finds Ismael’s bracelet and knows he must bethere. Juleka realizes that the pool has been covered and picks up a remote to it and uncovers the pool. The two girls look at the pool and see Ismael down there tied up and gagged. Reshma jumps in the pool and swims down to go save Ismael but when she makes it back and puts Ismael on the side of the pool, she tries everything to bring him back but Juleka tells her that he is gone since she checked his pulse and it is no longer moving. Juleka comforts Reshma and tells her that they can still stop Mari from their dead friends. Reshma agreed with her and before leaving they both grabbed weapons to beat up Marinette with.
Mireille and Cosette are hiding in Chloé’s closet from Marinette since she is trying to kill them. Mireille called the police a few minutes ago and she can only hope that comes here very soon. Cosette realizes she needs to fight Marinette so she and Mireille can be saved. So they told Mireille that they were going to fight Mari and they promised to make it back. Mireille knows that they can’t talk it out of it, trust it, and keeps hiding in the closet. Cosette gets a bat or something before heading off to fight Marinette. Mari tries to lure Mireille and Cosette out by using their respective lover’s phones but it doesn’t work. Cosette pulls a sneak attack on Marinette and hits her with a bat and eventually gets themself a knife from Marinette’s bag to get a better advantage and has a good chance of surviving at first. But then Marinette slays its chest halfway open leading to Cosette dropping the knife leaving them powerless. Mireille hears Cosette’s screams of fear and cries before it goes completely silent. Mireille goes to peek at what happens but only for Marinette to knock her out with some chloroform.
The other three made it to Chloé room and opened it to find Mari and hopefully Cosette & Mireille as well. Both Aurore and Marc searched the room but couldn’t find anything. When they go to check on Zoé, only to see her and a torn-up Cosette with her. Go to check up on Zoé, only to see that she is holding her deceased girlfriend's head that says A wannabe on their forehead. And as for Cosette’s body, its arms were torn apart from the body, and her elbows were not attached to it and hands. Their legs were detached from it as well and their feet weren’t attached to it anymore. Lastly, their upper torso was cut apart from the bottom half where the blouse was with the two pieces they were wearing. Aurore felt like throwing up from seeing her friend like this and so did Marc. But Marc saw Marinette’s footprints were leading somewhere else and followed them with Aurore following him as well. Before Zoé follows suit, she says sorry that she couldn’t protect it and be its knight like Cosette expected her to be, before gently putting Cosette’s head on the ground and going to help the others.
The gang met up at the same time and started to plan their attack on their so-called friend. They ended up finding Marinette where the dance was being held up and where the crown was.
Marinette tied up Mireille and covered her mouth before waking her up. Mireille is scared of what is going to happen to her but sees Marinette getting the crown she always wanted. Marinette grabs the scepter and puts the sash on her, doing a little dance before saying she is the queen. What Marinette sees is that everyone is celebrating her coronation and she is smiling while having the dead victims behind her and just bowing to her like she is royalty. While Mari is distracted, Aurore unties Mireille and gets her to safety. Marc, Juleka, Reshma, and Zoé attack her and make sure she doesn’t attack them. With Marc stabbing the side of her body, Reshma holding her hands together, Juleka doing the same thing but with her feet, and Zoé putting her in a headlock so Mari doesn’t try to stop Aurore and Mireille from escaping.
The police arrived and told the kids they got the rest covered. They let go and when Marinette tried to escape, an officer grabbed her before she had the chance and took her crown. Marinette is just kicking and screaming and telling them to let go of her, she is the queen of high school land but Marc told her it is only in her head and flips her off before Marinette was taken away.
The ending:
In the end, Marinette is an asylum for the rest of her life, the whole school especially the S.Os are in therapy to deal with the loss, Mrs. Bustier not only gets slapped by Mrs.Mendeleiev, but gets sued by the parents of the dead kids and Marinette’s parents, and gets fired. While the ghost kids haunt her and Marinette for the rest of their lives and see their loved ones whenever they get the chance.
Some final notes:
I wanted to add what were the dead kids clothes inspired by for the homecoming.
Mylène - Snow White
Rose - Sleeping Beauty
Nathaniel - Rapunzel
Jean - The little mermaid
Ismael - The Frog prince or Cinderella
Cosette - Belle from Beauty & The Beast.
Well that all I want to add before leave. Have a good read everyone and hope you enjoy my rewrite!

Is there ANY character you removed from your AU?
Also, do you have an episode list? Or at least some episodes that you won't be keeping? If so, which episodes did you remove and why? And do you have how many seasons planned?
Lastly, will your AU be in fanfic format, fanfic with some images to illustrate it, or something else?
As of now, I'm pretty sure every character that has appeared in canon (at least the important ones) are going to be incorporated somehow
There are some characters like Giselle (Mme. Bustier's wife) or August (Gigantitan) that aren't "important" that'll still at the very least have a cameo or brief mention
But there ARE some characters that are being added to the story such as the Quantic Kids (aka the original "Team Miraculous" from the pilot) who will have some importance.
I don't have an episode list, nor do I know for sure which episodes will/won't be added. Some episodes are vital to the plot of the canon show whereas others aren't so it's hard to say for sure which will be important to the story.
On top of this, this isn't really going to be following the typical episodic style as the show, each part is going to basically pick and choose what needs to happen including the Akuma, characters, and story so technically there aren't any "episodes" in my rewrite (but certain things will still follow a set order like in canon)
And I have 5 "seasons" planned, however I'm referring to them as Arc's instead as (like previously said) I'm not writing it episode by episode but rather important dates. Because of that each Arc will be focusing on specific things, which ranges from character arcs to world building.
And lastly, it'll be primarily fanfic format with a few art pieces here and there. Before the story officially starts, I plan to post at least all of the main cast's redesigns with a small description of what I've changed and why.
However, I do plan to keep their hero forms secret until they actually debut. Of course, this won't be the case with Ladybug, Chat Noir, or our villains though as they appear pretty much immediately.
Along with that, as small teaser, Hawk Moth and Mayura have different names in my rewrite. Hawk Moth was changed to Monarque (Monarch in French) as I think it suit's my version of Gabriel better and Mayura's new name is a secret as it's a slight spoiler to her rewritten backstory so stay tuned for that (:
Thank you very much for your questions!

Miraculous Rewrite - Gigantitan
I know what you’re thinking ‘Mod Vega, Mod Aimee, why did you guys keep this sorry excuse for an episode?’ Just trust us.
When we open the episode, we open to the fencing academy. Adrien is currently sparring with an unknown partner, we hear nothing from them and instead focus on Kagami, fencing with Marinette. It’s clearly Marinette not only due to her pigtails, but also her uniform, now altered with pink and polka dots in some places.
Kagami is drilling Marinette on proper forms as they fight, fencing history, the difference between certain fencing levels. In between answers Marinette Asks Kagami why she chose fencing to study anyway. Was it just because her mother moved them to france? Kagami responds that her family has been warriors for generations, and she’d always wanted to learn Kempo, but her mother had forbade it. Her brother was already studying Kempo and she’d not have her children learning the same things and foster rivalry. So she took up fencing in its place, and the history of french combat with the art form fascinated her enough for it to quickly grow into a passion.
At around this time Adrien had pulled aside to take a water break. Marinette pulling away quickly after saying she needed to catch her breath. Kagami, more to make a point than anything else, touches her when she does so, saying that in a REAL battle one can’t pull away without death becoming imminent.
Marinette waves it off, but with no one else to spar with at the time, Kagami joins her at the water benches. Adrien drawing her eye as he walks back over to his partner and encourages him about form or some shit. Not just observing him, but the ‘Watching’ of a crush. Unfortunately for Kagami’s blood pressure, Marinette notices her noticing him.
“I thought you said you respected yourself too much to be rebound?” Marinette says with a small grin. To which Kagami blushes.
“I thought you said you weren’t going to try and partner people up on double dates anymore!”
“I did! But you can’t deflect that easily Kagami!”
Kagami takes a pointed swig from her water bottle and rests her arms on her knees. “My views on the matter haven’t changed. However, I feel as though things have shifted.” She looks down at her foil, then at Adrien. “He feels different. Something’s changed. He feels less… hesitant.” She made an experimental jab with her foil. “Like he knows what he’s doing and he’s taking it seriously. Not in fencing just...in the world.”
“Well he did almost die trying to help in that Akuma fight two weeks ago, puts things into perspective.”
“...yes.” Kagami looks far away for a moment, and Marinette is clearly reminded that the both of them had seen it happen, just because she was beneath the waves didn’t mean others couldn’t watch from above them. “Maybe I’ve changed a bit as well.”
“Are you gonna try then?”
“Perhaps. However I wouldn’t know how on my own merits.” Marinette put a hand on Kagami’s shoulder, and when Kagami looked up at her she’s got the full shoujo girl treatment. Sparkles in eyes, shoujo bubbles, the whole enchilada.
“Meet me outside when practice is over!”
Kagami instantly regrets this decision.
We cut next to Marinette’s room, a familiar setting as in canon, Alya beside her, Juleka, Rose, Alix, and Mylene sprawled around her chaise, and Kagami sitting on her Christmas presents trunk, massaging a headache.
“Okay guys, we’ve got a huge project and it’s all hands on deck time.”
“You found out Ladybug’s identity?”
“No! And even if I did I wouldn’t-”
“You found out HAWKMOTH’S identity?”
“God I wish-”
“Is this another matchmaking thing?”
Alya points at Alix then. “Kind of.”
Marinette runs everyone through the plan, it’s the same as the plan in canon, however Marinette has instead cast herself as ‘Lavender’ basically being standby and making sure real life doesn’t trip anyone up in order to get ‘Carnation’ that date with ‘Buttercup.’
Rose is perplexed with the naming convention as she is in canon, but before things can go too far on the matter, Kagami interrupts.
“Isn’t putting up a fake no parking sign illegal? I’m not breaking any laws for a date.”
Honestly nobody actually thought of that and there’s this collective ‘well shit’ type moment as everyone looks around eachother.
“How about this.” Kagami stands and takes Marinette’s pointer from her. “First off, we’re getting rid of these flower names. It’s a bit fairytaleish. Marinette, you will be Battle Axe. Alya, you’re Halberd. Juleka will be MorningStar, Alix Crossbow, Mylene will be Sheild and Rose will be…” She looks at Rose, Rose looks at her with her big Rose eyes. “Pillow.”
“Now, in order to secure the Payload, we’re going to need to be clever, these silly plans rarely see the light of battle on their own. You will be referring to me in that case, as Sabre.”
Compared to the canon, when ‘Sabre’ is explaining the battle plan, it’s in a flash-forward type manner, where we actually see the plan as it happens rather than a chat about it and then seeing it. As Marinette is still running real life interference, we of course still see her helping Auguste’s mother, because that’s her role of course.
“Halberd will remain keeping watch, we need to time things just right as when the Payload reaches his transport we’ve lost. Shield, You and Pillow will in fact be cutting the wire, the Payload’s transport will be waiting outside of the car for him, as he does at the end of fencing class. Therefore as the two most innocent looking girls, you both can lead him away. Ideally with a sort of story where in which you’d need an adult of reasonable strength to help you with. MorningStar you will be setting up the rickshaw, not the romantic one with flowers that would be too suspicious. Any rickshaw you can get your hands on. And Crossbow you will be the backup should Shield and Pillow fail. Using your skates you should cause a small nuisance to the transport, get him to chase after you in aggravation.
“While Battle Axe makes sure that the two of us are in the same location, I can offer my own attempt to take the Payload home without issue.”
As we end the narration we see Marinette helping baby August up the stairs just barely out of sight of Adrien. Where in which she darts behind a pillar. Adrien himself walking up the stairs to the topmost level. To see of course, Kagami. ‘Casually’ reading as she stands at the curb.
“Oh! Hey Kagami!” Kagami looks up and nods.
“Adrien.”
“What are you doing here?”
“I’ve been extending my hobbies in hopes of finding something to properly relax. According to my doctor I’m Too tense’ and ‘likely for a heart attack before I turn 18’.”
Adrien chuckles and Kagami mirrors this.
“It seems as though your own transportation is late.”
“Yeah he’s normally waiting for me.”
“Perhaps I could be of some assistance? I’m sure your schedule is as booked as my own often is.”
“I should probably call him.”
We cut back then, to Gorilla, whom, now that he’s featuring more prominently, needs a name. Because calling him Gorilla casually is rude. So screw Zag studios, we’re calling him Vladamir. He looks like a Vladamir.
So Vladamir has been drawn away by Rose and Mylene, claiming that there were these guys that were harassing them and could he pretty please intimidate them into stopping? But ohhh shucks the guys who were around the corner were gone now! This unfortunately didn’t layaway him very long but of course that’s when Alix comes in, speeding through on her skates, spinning him around and stealing his blazer, shouting a quick ‘Need this!’
Which of course gets Vladamir pretty pissed and next thing they know he’s chasing after Alix. Alix is speeding away, and rummaging through the blazer pockets, she throws his wallet behind her shouting ‘You can keep this!’ the wallet nails him in the face.
He finally trips after losing his sight and Alix gets away. Vladamir huffs Angrily and makes sure all of his stuff is still in his wallet before putting it in his pocket.
He starts sulkily marching his way back to the car, walking juuusssttt a little faster than the akuma tailing him.
When he reaches the crosswalk that leads to the plaza he was meeting Adrien at he watches him and Kagami ride away on a simple silver Rickshaw.
Needless to say, this is not good on his psyche. He’s just about to tail the two and possibly get his ass Akumatized when he looks over to see Marinette, continuing to help Baby Aguste’s mom get the stroller up the steps. Auguste is still crying his little eyes out, but Marinette is clearly cheerful and happy to help. The mother thanking her with real gratitude. And Vladamir takes a breath and smiles slightly to himself before getting in the car, content in that there are still good teenagers in the world.
The Akuma passes over him entirely despite him stopping, and with no other sad creature to draw its eye, zips over to baby Auguste.
We then cut to Hawkmoth. Clearly Not Pleased with this turn of events. Hands pressed together, thousand yard stare, clearly regretting everything in his life that has made this string of events happen.
“A baby. An actual baby.” He looks around, his gaze resting on Emile’s pod. “The closest I’ve ever gotten to success was with Puppeteer, With Sapotis and Chrismaster they needed extra help.” he walks over to Emile’s pod. “Perhaps when they say Children are the future they mean to take it more literally than one expects.” he puts a hand on Emile’s pod. “Am I that desperate?” he asks, but sighs. “Of course I am.” He turns so his back is pressed against the pod, a deep, tired sigh is heaved and his eyes are closed, head tilted up to the ceiling as he comes to terms with this absolute farce that has become his life.
“Gigantitan, I am Hawkmoth. I’m giving you the chance of a lifetime. No longer will you be told what to do. Throw the biggest tantrum Paris has ever seen! Steal every candy you’ve always been told you were too young for! But in return, I ask you to bring me my own playmates. Ladybug and Chat Noir.”
Thankfully, for how ridiculous this episode is, the action sequence doesn’t change much, it’s just a simple few moments that need to be in line.
Things like, Gigantitan going after Kagami and Adrien’s Rickshaw and the two of them having to be separated, Adrien getting plucked up--surprisingly gently--and placed onto a rooftop, while Kagami is carried to safety by the girl squad.
We cut back to Hawkmoth for a quick moment. “Easy, EASY Gigantitan! He’s soft like a kitty. Don’t hurt him!” his hands are shaking a bit. “Don’t hurt him.” it’s almost like he’s shaken up from something that happened recently in reguards to Adrien.
Cut back to Gigantitian petting Adrien’s hair with a finger. “Kitty!” he chirps before going back to causing havoc.
Adrien looks… a bit disturbed as he opens his shirt and Plagg zipps out. “Does… Does Hawkmoth know?”
“I have no idea….”
We cut back to Marinette, whom has just gotten Auguste’s mama to safety, saying she’s sure Ladybug will deliver her baby back to her safe and sound. To which the Mama grabs Marinette’s hand, and with the ferocity of a parent that fears neither god nor satan, demands Marinette promise her.
To which Marinette does, and says she’ll tell Ladybug where she is. So like… Don’t leave from here.
From here the episode can go on as normal, with  two small exceptions
Instead of forgetting he has Cataclysm active, since as we remember, Adrien is taking the whole ‘being Chat Noir’ thing seriously now, his hand instead skidded across the top of Andre’s ice cream stand as he landed, making the upper canopy crumble as he regains his bearings.
And instead of the Girl Squad coming in with the fake ‘no parking’ sign as a distraction, they’re instead toting Kagami’s fencing sword with a big red painted ball of tinfoil on the top.
As Miraculous Ladybug sweeps the land we cut back to Hawkmoth, one of the few times we allow him to have closing monologues. He’s still slumped against Emilie’s pod, this time actively unsurprised that he’d failed.
“It may be time to rethink my strategy, my darling.”
We cut back to The girl squad. Kagami is TiredTM.
“How many times has an Akuma interrupted EVERYTHING we’re trying to do.”
“If it helps Nino and I got together during an Akuma attack.”
“Luka and I haven’t been able to have a single date without an Akuma trying to mess things up.”
“Adrien’s more used to it than you might think.” Juleka responds. To which Rose continues: “Akumas started around the same time he started going to public school, so he’s probably integrated it in quicker than the rest of us. He won’t hold it against anyone.”
“Oh! Speak of the Payload.” Mylene chirps, and sure enough Adrien is walking back into the same place at the plaza. Alix humms and gets up quicker than the rest of them. Zipping across the plaza and intercepting Vladamir before he reaches Adrien, giving him back his blazer and apologizing.
Vladamir smiles slightly and reaches out, ruffling Alix’s hair.
It’s then that Kagami is pushed out onto the plaza. (literally pushed, Alya’s very impatient at this point) and approaches Adrien.
“Agreste.”
“Oh! Kagami! I’m really sorry about-”
“It’s fine Adrien.” Kagami gives him a half smile. “It’s not your fault Paris’ supervillain has decided to become somehow even less honorable than before. Taking advantage of an infant's tears.” She shook her head. “He deserved that humiliating defeat.”
“Still I feel bad that you couldn’t take the scenic route home.” Vladimir walks up to properly escort him into the car. “Can we give you a ride?”
Kagami smiles. “I’d like that.”
“Oh! You never told me what you were planning on doing for your calm down hobby! Photography? Art?”
“Poetry.”
She slides into the seat offered.
And hiding behind a pillar, the Girl squad watch with bated breath as the car drives away. After which Rose, with a gravelly video game character voice, says “Payload secured!”
And the group high five.

Operation Secret Garden
Good morning and a happy holidays to my @mlsecretsanta recipient, @amlbfan!! I hope you enjoy it~
Also on AO3 and FFNet!
“Are all the flowers planted?” Marinette heard Alya mutter into her earpiece. On the other lines she could just hear her friends give their signal.
“Perfect, go Rose!”
“Uh, me?”
Marinette could see Alya roll her eyes in her peripheral vision before replying, “No, the other Rose!”
Rose made a sound of confusion as Juleka chuckled, and pushed her cart forward.
After a few seconds of silence, Juleka’s voice crackled in their ears, “The rose has no thorns. Sunflower, you’re up.”
Marinette giggled softly as Alya grinned. She was so glad Alya roped them into this. Mylene squared her shoulders and, looking both ways, crossed the street to Officer Raincomprix.
“Ah, young miss, I believe you’re in my uh, my daughter’s class! What can I do for ya?”
“Monsieur, there is an illegally parked car across the street!” Mylene exclaimed, pointing towards the Gorilla’s car. Officer Raincomprix looked in the direction she pointed and narrowed his eyes.
“Thank you, mademoiselle, I’ll take it from here!” He marched off towards the car, and Mylene spoke into her earpiece. “The sunflower has shone! Tulip, you’re up!”
“Marinette, are you excited?” Alya left her microphone off and turned to face her best friend.
“More nervous than anything! What if something goes wrong? Or he actually does have his phone on him? Or-“
“Girl! It’s gonna be-“
“The tulip is… uh… I’m in place!”
“Perfect timing, Tulip! Buttercup just finished! I’m going to go hide, Lotus. Head around the corner! But don’t make it seem like you were waiting for him! I know you haven’t finished that dress design Rose was after!”
The two girls stood up and ran; Alya hid behind one of the pillars and Marinette sat on the steps by the rickshaw, taking out a sketchbook and flipping the pages to a half-drawn dress as Alya told her to. She idly moved her pencil around the page, half-assing strokes as she listened out for Adrien’s footsteps, feeling hyper-aware. Slowly, light pitter-patters made their way into her eardrums and she began to feel nervous. What if he wanted to wait for The Nanny to get back? What if he didn’t want to go with Marinette? What if-
“Marinette?”
“Ahh!!”
Even though she was expecting him, Adrien’s voice cutting into her thoughts still managed to spook her. She shot up, almost tripping over and Adrien narrowly dodged her head from breaking his jaw, which definitely would not have pleased his father.
“Oh, no, I’m sorry…”
“Don’t worry, Marinette! What are you drawing?”
“Oh, it’s a Rose for dress! No, uh, a dress for Rose! I felt a little crowded at home so I came out to get some fresh air! All your posters- uh, your dad’s fashions were uh, I see them every day so-“
“Haha, I get it! I wish I could get out of the house so freely like you!” Adrien’s gaze moved from Marinette’s face to the cars by the kerb, scrunching up slightly in confusion.
“Where’s…”
“Is everything all right?”
“Yeah, it’s just, my bodyguard should be here by now…”
Marinette heard a whisper behind her and turned her head a little to see Alya mouthing, “Ask. Him,” in her direction. She turned back to face him, counted to three in her head, then stuttered out, “Uh, hey, how about we rickshaw take home together this? Wait, no-“
“Sure, okay! Can I borrow your phone to text my bodyguard? I left mine in the car.”
“Oh, sure! It’s-“ She clicked the button on her phone but the screen did not light up. “It’s dead. Sorry, Adrien.”
“If we’re quick it should be fine! Are you ready?”
“After you!”
Adrien stepped into the rickshaw, holding his hand out to help Marinette in and soon the tall buildings of Paris moved past them as the rickshaw driver began to pedal.
“My house is the big one with a wall and gate around it, across the Seine and near Francis Dupont School, sir,” Adrien told the driver with a smile.
They reached the river after a short while when Marinette pointed out, “H-Hey! There’s Andre’s ice cream cart, you want stop do to- uh, do you want to stop?”
“Uh, sure! It shouldn’t take too long, right?”
“Yeah! Stop here please!” At the latter sentence, Marinette turned her direction to the rickshaw driver who smiled and nodded, slowing the rickshaw to a halt. Marinette hopped out of the rickshaw, feeling the warmth of Adrien’s hand leave hers and realised with a panic that he never let go.
“Marinette and Adrien, two of my favourites! I’ll fix you up, I hope you’ll savour it! Mint for his eyes and blueberry for her hair, and topped with cherry for their lips!”
Marinette’s face burned bright red as she glanced over at Adrien, who was just as red.
“Uh-“
CRASH. SCREAMING. MORE CRASHES.
Adrien and Marinette turned to the direction they came from and to their horror, buildings were toppling over, sending dust into the air. A large, blue, gorilla-like being was standing on all fours behind it, growling and stomping through the streets.
“Is that-“
“It’s my bodyguard!”
Adrien shoved the ice cream back into Andre’s hands, grabbed one of Marinette’s and ran back across the bridge.
“Ah-h-h! Adrien, what are you doing?!”
“We need to go!”
“Yeah, let’s hide, but not towards the akuma!”
“I think he’s akumatized because of me... I need to show him I’m all right.”
“Adrien, listen to me.”
He finally stopped struggling against Marinette’s grip and turned to face her.
“Let Ladybug and Cat Noir handle this. I don’t want you to get hurt trying to handle this, your fault or not! Okay?”
His eyes softened, “Alright.”
They both turned, still hand in hand, and ran for the other end of the bridge. Alix skated past them, leaving a small trail of flower petals behind as she shot off and turned left at the end of the bridge.
After running for a few minutes, they ended up in front of the Dupain-Cheng bakery. Marinette ripped open the door and shoved Adrien inside.
“Stay here, I’ll hide somewhere else! He won’t suspect you hiding here!”
“What about you?”
“He doesn’t know me, Adrien! I’ll hide out at Alya’s!”
“Okay, stay safe!”
Marinette ran a block before hiding in an alleyway, letting Tikki out of her bag when she was hidden.
“Marinette, you really should have thought this plan through!”
“This wasn’t my plan, it was Alya’s!”
“But you agreed to it! And you’ve seen how protective that man is of Adrien!”
“I know Tikki, I’ve learnt my lesson. Now, spots on!”
A shimmer of red light washed over her but Marinette barely gave a thought to the magic as she threw her yo-yo and flew away.
Swinging over the rooftops back towards the bridge, Ladybug found Cat Noir already running, and breathed a sigh of relief.
“Cat Noir! Have you heard anything about the akuma?”
“Nope, what about you?”
“I heard on the bridge that it’s Adrien Agreste’s bodyguard!”
“You were on the bridge?”
“Uhhh,” Ladybug cringed internally. She couldn’t give away where she was without raising suspicion about her identity. “N-No, Andre the Ice-cream Man told me when he saw me at the start of the bridge!”
“Oh, okay! So what might the akuma be?”
They were now in the air, flipping towards a rooftop and bounding over it, closing in on the buildings that had been knocked down. The Gorilla was further down the street and had not yet noticed them. Ladybug squinted her eyes and looked carefully at him.
“I can’t see anything obvious... maybe in his pockets?”
“Do you reckon we could get close enough for that?”
“We’re gonna have to trap him. Lucky Charm!”
She threw her yo-yo, which transformed into a cell phone, and she sighed.
“Who am I supposed to call? What does this me-”
Ladybug paused and glanced over at the Gorilla, then Cat Noir. Her Ladybug vision lit up on their beings.
“Apparently, the magic is telling me to call him. Well, that’s the akumatized object out of the way!”
Cat Noir frowned. “How are we supposed to call him? How do we get the phone from him?”
“You need to run over there when I say so and grab it from his hand as he takes it out. Ready?”
He nodded and turned towards the Gorilla.
Ladybug pressed a button on the polka-dotted phone. It began to ring, and the Gorilla’s phone rang loudly in his pocket. He paused and began to reach for his phone.
“Now!”
Cat Noir pushed off and ran towards the Gorilla, leaping through the air and grabbing the phone from his fists just as he lifted it to his ear. Once safely on the other rooftop, he broke the phone and the akuma flew out of it.
“No more evil-doing for you, akuma. Time to de-evilize!”
Her yo-yo swung out and grabbed the butterfly, purifying it.
“Gotcha! Bye bye, little butterfly. Miraculous Ladybug!”
She threw the spotted phone into the air, spreading the magic of Creation around Paris and restoring the fallen buildings. Ladybug swung down to the ground near the restored Gorilla as Cat Noir descended on his staff.
“Sir, are you okay? Did you lose someone?”
He merely grunted, and showed a picture of Adrien on his phone.
“Oh, I’ve seen him! He was heading back to the mansion near Francis Dupont School with a friend! If you head back now he should be there soon,” Ladybug replied with a smile. “Don’t worry, we won’t tell your boss!”
The Gorilla grunted again, the hint of a smile on his gruff face as he entered his car nearby and left.
“So, pound it?”
“Pound it. Lovely working with you again, Bugaboo!”
Ladybug smiled before turning and leaping back towards the bridge again. She swung over the rooftops and landed in the alleyway near her house. De-transforming, she opened her bag for Tikki before she ran back to the bakery, colliding hard with Adrien as he opened the door to leave.
“Ow!” “Oof!” They proclaimed at the same time, cradling their heads briefly.
“Are you okay, Marinette?” “Sorry, Adrien!” They spoke again simultaneously then giggled, breaking down into laughter.
“Only I’m this clumsy, I must be rubbing off on you! Anyways, did you stay safe in the bakery?”
“Yeah, and Alya’s was safe too, right?”
“A-Aly- Yes! Yes, I was there, safe! Safe, yep.”
“It’s too bad our ride home got cut short with the akuma. I guess I should head back home now so he isn’t angry again.”
“Can I walk you home?”
Adrien smiled softly, replying with, “Sure.”
The short walk from the bakery to the mansion was quiet and Marinette glanced over at Adrien a few times with a blush grazed along her cheeks. Arriving at the Agreste mansion came far too soon, in her opinion.
“Y’know, despite hiding from the akuma, I had a good time with you, Marinette. Let’s do it again sometime!”
“Y-Yeah, sounds like good plan! A good plan! Haha, you’re good, uh, a good friend! Yeah…”
“Yeah… I’ll see you at school?”
“See you then, Adrien!”
Marinette watched as he approached the mailbox, spoke to the camera that popped out and soon enough he was through the gate. He stopped to wave back at her before heading inside. Marinette waved back then headed around the corner and squeaked, sliding down the wall.
“Tikki, did you hear that? We’re gonna hang out again!”
“I’m so happy for you, Marinette! You should tell the girls!
“Y-You’re right!”
Running back to the bakery, she sent a group text to the girls.
“Operation Secret Garden was a success!”

What’s the hardest part of writing the story for Scarlet Lady?
There a few a challenges that usually stem from canon:
The episode was boring or perfect: it's hard to get excited to do a rewrite if the episode has nothing going for it. Sometimes they don't even have something to get mad about, it's just dull! Or in a similar vein if I liked the episode as is and feel like I can't add anything to it (I felt this when I was working on "The Mime" recently)
The AU makes the episode boring: Sometimes an episode really hinges on the Love Square shenanigans and by reversing the square it makes things...not...happen. Like "Gigantitan" - without Marinette's crush on Adrien, there's no Girl Squad Planning to make a disruption of things. Sure the baby could still get akumatized, but it's not that much fun to me personally to pursue it.
Chloe's not in the episode: This one can either make things fun challenging or annoying challenging. While I get to be creative, it's also easy to feel like I'm shoehorning her in where she doesn't belong. And it's equally challenging making use of her once she's there, particularly as Scarlet Lady and particularly particularly if there's a bonus temp hero in the episode. It does start getting very "too many cooks in the kitchen".
Chloe IS in the episode: confusing, I know, but sometimes when Chloe ran the episode in canon it's hard to deal with because it doesn't feel like I can make things interesting. It's not fun to just redraw canon in my clothes.
My number 1 problem - Pacing: With so many episodes, so many heroes, so many things going on, it's hard for me to feel like I'm keeping the momentum going. When I drop the first part of Plot A in Episode [x] but know it'll be resolved in Episode [y], but there's five episodes in between that have to do with Plot B, C, and D, which are important in their own way, just not to Plot A... yeah I sometimes wish I just cut out like half the episodes, even if they were fun.

Adventures of Red Bettle 🐞🌈 and Black Kats 🐈‍⬛🍅
Alternate universe where Marc and Nathaniel are the heroes of Paris, rewriting some scenes from episodes of the series.
There are things that I still haven't defined about this AU, but this is what I already have planned:
These are the camouflaged forms of their miraculous.
Tumblr media
Rainbow Diamond earrings
Tumblr media
A black an white ring
These are their suits:
Tumblr media
Link: https://www.wattpad.com/769333761-miraculous-marcthaniel-english-version-nath-noir

I don't know whether to make Nathaniel a model, or make his father Hawkmoth (We don't even know what his father looks like).
The love square would be more or less like this.
Marcaniel:
Marc denies being in love with Nathaniel, because he doesn't feel that he corresponds to him. Nathaniel just sees him as a friend 😅, but dont worry, he will fall in love with Marc eventually.
KatsBeetle (It would be the Ladynoir of this AU)
Red Beetle, despite being a little shy when facing akumas, he is willing to overcome his insecurities to save the day. One of the reasons Black Kats is deeply in love with him, He flirts with compliments, to encourage him in battles. He even calls him bugaboy.
Although Red Beetle is flattered by this, the reason he rejects him is not because of love, but because he knows that being superheroes they can't take many liberties like having a relationship, especially since Hawkmoth would take advantage of this against them and take away their miraculous.
And to avoid the redundancy of the love square, I decided that I will remove some episodes from the canon, or I'll probably rewrite them to make more sense of them.
From season 1, I don't think I'll remove any for now, this was where we got to know the characters the most before everything that started in the following seasons with new holders.
From season 2,
-Gigantitan
-Glaciator (Forgive me 😢)
-Rossignoble/Frightningale
From season 3,
-Papa Garou/Weredad
-Boulangerix/Bakerix
-Stormy Weather 2
-Oni-Chan
-Puppeteer 2
-Ladybug
-Chris Master
From season 4,
Psycomedian (Yeah, we won't see Angry Red Beetle 😔)
SIMPLEMAN PLEASE
Glaciator 2 (That too)
Kuro Neko
FOR OBVIOUS REASONS, in this AU will not happen Evillustrator or Reverser.
But as you saw, Chat Blanc and Ephemeral yes, so you can already imagine what would happen.
And that would be all the info I can give you for now, if you want to ask me more about the AU or if you have any idea/suggestion you can give it to me 💖

If you are still into MLB, do you have some original akumas? Or will you only rewrite existing akumas? Do you have a list of akumas? I really liked you Death Maker fic so I'm curious to know if there will be more akumas like this 🙂
Thank you for your ask!
I am glad you liked "Death Maker", but I must precise this akuma is quite special since I wrote it when I got salty after "Chameleon" (funny how it still gets notes today XD). I do not wish to make Miraculous Team "edgy" or as a salt AU, and while - as I precised in previous posts - some akumas will be shown as more dangerous than the original one, they won't all be necessary deadly. Some would because it fits their original akuma (Stone heart, Stormy Weather and Siren for example have probably made quite a share of victims even if it wasn't shown in the series), and also because it fits Le Fiancé and the organisation he works for. This guy is sick and really doesn't care if someone gets harm as long as he gets what he wants so yeah.
And by the way "Death Maker" is based on an original akuma I created^^, I just made akumatized!Marinette more feral because I was salty when writing it. The akuma will be called simply "Seamstress" though - unless I come up with a better idea or a pun.
As for the list of akumas, yes I have made a chronology actually! If you are interested, I'm putting it under read more. In bold, my own akumas, in italics, the ones I'm not sure to keep/might change when it happens.
(Edit: I had forgotten one of my own akumas at the beginning 😅)
That's it for now, I might change the order or add more original akumas in the future.
Stoneheart
Reflekta
Darkblade
Elysion
Pharaoh
Bubbler
Lady Wifi

Things that I feel would have made Miraculous Ladybug a better show.
A Comprehensive Guide to what I would fix with Miraculous Ladybug, with 10 different Ideas.
WARNING: long post for mobile users
1. Combine the Riposte and Captain Hardrock episodes to introduce Luka and Kagami and have it be strictly a civilian episode.
After 3 seasons of Miraculous, I can safely say that I don’t care much about the whole lovesquare stuff, and to be frank I hate the fact that Luka and Kagami were added into the show just to be alternate love interests for the heroes.
I mean, Kagami gets a pass because she has a unique personality, but Luka is literally just every guitar teen ever, and is more one dimensional than season 1 Chloe.
EDIT: It really doesn’t help that because of these new ships, there is even more ship teasing that before, making the whole romance side of miraculous rather boring and filled to excess with ship teases
HOWEVER, if you really wanted to introduce these characters as alternate love interests, why not do something unique with it and in a way that won’t go over so long?
My idea is as follows
1. Have Adrien meet Kagami at fencing and Marinette meeting Luka with Kitty section.
2. Have the two main characters interact with these new love interests and learn more about them.
3. NOT have Hawkmoth come and akumatise anyone, because akuma’s shouldn’t be the only reason and/or way to progress the show or make it interesting.
4. Have the new single episode be about Adrien and Marinette falling for new people.
That way, the show can introduce the idea of new love interests, change the episode format so a bit so that its not so linear, and save an episode slot for a episode idea more interesting... Or perhaps instead restrict the whole alternate romance subplot to a few episodes as part of a small storyline and have the whole romantic subplot be done with instead of extending it is like with the Lovesquare over 2 seasons
EDIT: I don’t particularly like the ship, but the idea I’m proposing could be a good way to shorten it into a more coherent and more interesting plot, instead of adding another ship tease into the series that ends up tearing the fandom apart.
2. Have Season 3 be about Ladybug and Cat Noir teaching the 3 new heroes how to fight.
Season 3 is trash. There I said it. And its not just the episodes themselves are the problem. The whole season and the premises it tries to introduce are garbage as well.
Lets start with Lila.
Based off of the Chameleon episode, it was believed that Lila would be a more prominent character in the show, basically being a villain for both Marinette and her alter Ego. Despite that, her actual effect on the season was about as minimal as you could get, with her presence only being restricted to a few episodes (with these episodes more relying on everyone else being an idiot for them to work, Chameleon included). It also didn’t help that the show still stuck to the single episode format, meaning Chamelon, which was meant to be an episode that would set up a ‘war’ between Marinette and Lila was immediatly suceeded by episodes such as Gamer 2.0 and Animaestro, both of which did not feature Lila at all and took the tension out of the first episode (unfortunately not the salt though, rip Miraculous Fanfics)
Also, the Finale robbed Lila of her spotlight. Imagine being presented as the villain of season 3 only for you to be replace with a knockoff Queen Wasp 😭.
Season 3 also made the mistake of introducing new heroes into the show.
Now, I’m of the opinion that the new heroes introduce in season 3 were a mistake, because not only did the new heroes make the idea of getting a miraculous not so special anymore (with so many new heroes), but some of the designs, powers and/or Miraculous tools were not really that great. I mean, Viperion looks cool and all, but his tool is a goddamn lyre. At least a yoyo can be used to tie up people. And do not get me started on Pegasus.
Also, with all the new heroes introduced, it meant that the heroes from season 2 barely got any screentime. Chloe was made into a villain by the end of Season 3, while Rena Rouge got to appear once and my boi Caracace got only one episode out of the ENTIRE SEASON to appear.
But I do have a solution to at least on of these problems.
What if, in season 3, that season was all about Ladybug and Cat Noir teaching Rena, Carapace and Queenie how to actually be heroes and form a team of 5? It would help bring some new dynamics into the whole hero stuff, and we could potentially see more of the stuff that we had only seen in heroes day.
(Also, rewrite heroes day so that the 3 heroes don’t immediatly get akumatized and actually help Ladybug and Cat Noir. God, they got ripped off for all the hype build-up.)
It could allow for new stuff in season 3 such as:
More hero dynamics
Seeing Alya, Nino and Chloe adapt to daily heroics
Ladybug (and Chat) learning how to be leaders and mentors, which would then make the plotline about Fu passing on his title to Marinette make more sense and justified, since they didn’t do that in season 3 at all.
A more realised storyline about Chloe’s identity being public knowledge that goes on for more than two episodes
Also it means we could get rid of Lila...just saying.
3. Have Miss Bustier work to rehabilitate Chloe and have that be the starting point of Chloe’s redemption.
In recent months, there has been a lot of salt aimed at Miss Bustier, and to be frank I don’t think she deserves it. Her characterisation is honestly really heartwarming when it comes to the idea of teachers caring for their students, but her character can often be forgotten by writers, especially when they desire a story to tell. This can be seen as early as Origins, where she ignores Chloe outright bullying Marinette so the latter can stand up to her later on, but notices Ivan being angry at Kim so Ivan becomes Stoneheart. I personally think her character is lovely, and certain fanfic stories like the Miraculous World of Caline Bustier show that good side of her that so many salt fics fail to forget or intentionally ommit because of one bad episode where Marinette cries (chameleon).
However I do think that Chloe gets way out of hand in the show, and I do feel that despite her best intentions, Bustier not doing anything about Chloe for two seasons seems a bit...off putting.
But what if she did do something about it?
I think that the best way for Ms Bustier to act more like a teacher without breaking her ‘kind teacher’ status would honestly be to actually work on rehabilitating Chloe, either by working with her after school with exercises or recommending her to a psychiatrist for help. I know this can come off as dark for miraculous, but Chloe has already shown that her life beforehand has been a bit rough (even though it doesn’t nullify how she has acted in season 1), so it would make sense that Chloe would need some help with her behavoir/attitude. It would be a great way for Bustier to actually do something about Chloe’s behavoir, without compromising her kind personality. She is kind enough to care about Chloe being better, but assertive enough to do something about it.
Plus, for those who like Chloe, it could be a great way to redeem her properly without going back and forth between a ‘likable person but also bitch’ and ‘an asshole bitch with no redeeming qualities’ like in season 3. Plus it would then make Chloe becoming Queen Bee more fair instead of making it seem as if she doesn’t deserve to be a hero.
Also it would make those people who make salt posts about Bustier frick off. Leave her alone she’s a good character
4. Not having everyone immediately liking Ladybug/Marinette but not hating her either.
Ok, this is where I get really heretical with this post, especially because of how much of the fandom likes Marinette, but I feel that having every single character in the show immediately liking Marinette is a bit too much, at least for me. This sounds biased, but it causes problems for the show for two main reasons.
Marinette is kinda at this point a part-Mary Sue, at least when it comes to the idea that everyone in the world seems to like Marinette and the only ones who don’t are irredeemable pieces of trash who are probably villains (Lila and Chloe being Astruc’s favorite examples :/ ).
Marinette often has everyone agreeing with her on everything (when Lila isn’t there) and majority of the time she goes unnopossed with anything that she does, to the point where even a fireman doesn’t call the cops when he see’s her outright breaking into Adrien’s home (in Oni-Chan).
It would be more interesting (or at least more realistic given the setting) if most characters aside from a few important ones were mostly indifferent towards Marinette, aside from ones such as Alya, Nino, Adrien and Nathaniel for obvious reasons. I’m not saying they have to hate her, but it would be cooler if the rest of the class were more individuals with their own lives and focus, rather that characters with a trope who just revolve around Marinettes world.
Also those girl squad moments in Miraculous seem kinda forced, mainly because Alix, Mylene, Rose and Juleka don’t seem like the type to hang with Marinette unless the episode calls for it like in Gigantitan and Reflekdoll.
Now, lets discuss Ladybug.
To keep it simple, I think that it would make more sense if people weren’t immediately trusting of Ladybug at first, and I feel that as seasons go on, it would make sense that over time, people would eventually start to lose trust in her or start to feel angry at her for her inability to stop Hawkmoth permanently.
I mean, if you take episodes such as Syren (where said villain floods a whole city), it is likely that some people got hurt (or worse) and people would eventually start to worry that Ladybug could fail or that her Miraculous Ladybug could stop working.
It would wouldn’t help that Hawkmoth is mostly focused on getting Ladybug and Cat Noirs Miraculous, and people would start to realize that and would start to get the idea that if Ladybug and Cat Noir gave up their Miraculous, Hawkmoth would leave them alone.
Now, don’t get the wrong idea, I don’t think that this has to be a permanent thing that constantly worries the heroes like in other shows such as Ben 10, but it would be an interesting storyline for Miraculous if some people in Paris would start to get fed up Paris being used as a battleground for heroes and villains.
Also, it would make sense that the class likes Ladybug at least, especially for saving them in season 1.
EDIT: Changed my opinion, read my reblog
5. Have Adrien fall in love with Marinette and Ladybug fall in love with Chat - AKA I’m tired of the lovesquare.
I’m gonna be frank with you, I’m a little biased on this one, mainly because I can’t stand the lovesquare stuff. Its annyoing because people fight over which ship they like, and tbh it has gone on for way too long.
It also doesn’t help that it ruins the main characters. Marinette suffers because she can act like a creepy stalker at times, memorizing his schedule and even stealing his phone, yet can’t even speak to him properly (or more importantly like an actual friend) in a majority of episodes, making her look both creepy and/or idiotic.
Chat Noir also suffers, but even more so due to double standards by the fandom. I don’t think Chat is a sexual harasser like SOME might want to thing (looks at the salty side of fandom), but I do think he flirts WAY the fuck too much, to the point where it wastes most of his character. At least him making more jokes would be better than flirting.
So, my idea is to get rid of all that.
Let Marinette actually talk to Adrien, learn about him, care about him like he’s an actual human being, and actually be a good friend for once rather than being friends through Nino and Alya. Let Marinette actually be kind to Adrien and have her actions make Adrien realize that he likes her more than a friend, rather than Plagg telling him something he wants to deny.
And on the reverse note, Have Chat stop flirting and be more caring. I want Chat to treat Ladybug like she’s the greatest thing in his world, and not by flirting with her during akuma fights, but by checking how she is daily, wanting to spend time with her on lonely nights to make her feel better, and overall being more a friendly (yet lovestruck) partner than the flirty sidekick that Astruc wants to relegate him as. By all means, let him pun and make jokes during fights, that’s part of his charm, but I want Ladybug to fall in love with a Chat Noir that stands by her side, cares about her to the point of overkill and makes her always feel better no matter how down she feels.
And THAT’S what the lovesquare should be about, a story about two characters falling in love with two amazing people, not realizing they are one an the same.
I want Adrien to fall in love with the extrodinary Ladybug who changed his world forever and the simple but amazing Marinette who loves him for who he is, and not what he is. I want Marinette to fall for the sunshine Adrien that is too pure for this world and made her smile on a rainy day, but also for the caring Chat Noir that has always stood by her side no matter how dark the situation has gotten when fighting Hawkmoth, and has always cared about her to the point where cannot help but love him for who he is, puns, humor, love and all.
That’s what I think would make good romance in Miraculous Ladybug
Also Adrien doesn’t deserve that kinda salt btw. FIGHT ME.
6. Have Akuma battles actually cause an impact on the show.
Akuma’s are both a curse and a blessing for Miraculous Ladybug. A blessing because the powers can be unique and the designs are pretty to look at (minus a few), but a curse because the way they are written is responsible for Miraculous Ladybug’s stagnation and also how character issues are resolved.
Someone gets sad because a personal problem, they get akumatised, the return back to normal thanks to Ladybug, and their personal problem is suddenly resolved. Rinse and Repeat. All of the damage caused by the akumas is fixed, and no one seems to be affected by the akumas long term.
So...why not change the last bit?
I think that the akumas should do more than just trash Paris and not by being more evil, but by also have an effect on people mentally, similar to how people write about Chat Blanc causing Marinette to have PTSD. I don’t think the akumas have to be more threatening then they are, but I do wish that certain akuma’s or even the experience of being akumatized would affect certain characters more than what is shown.
Like say, how about an idea where Style Queen suddenly trying to turn Chloe into a statue, and not caring for the fact that she is her daughter, causing Chloe to straight up hate her now that her true colors are shown? Or perhaps an episode where people get hurt due to rubble from a battle, and one of the main characters sees someone greviously hurt despite them being fixed after the battle? These are just some ideas, but as is, akumas feel somewhat of a let down, because despite their cool designs, they are just one-shot glorified henchmen of Hawkmoth who are essentially forgotten after a single episode.
EDIT: I personally got some asks saying that giving characters PTSD would be a bad thing for a kids show, so Im just gonna clarify: I dont think that the characters should get PTSD, but I do think akuma battles should matter, given that some akuma backstories are made from more personal problems but are treated as with less seriousness than expected and often times fixed instantly by the end of the episode.
7. Give Luka a personality
Luka is the personification of every soft spoken teen music player ever and has the personality of the song Wonderwall. Next.
8. Have Alya not try to Figure out Ladybugs identity.
For someone who has read hero comic books, Alya should realise that trying to expose someone’s public identity is a VERY BAD IDEA.
9. Have Ladybug and Chat Noir unlock new powers on their own, rather than having to rely on Gimicky power up potions.
I’m gonna be frank, the power up potions are lame as heck. They are essentially glorified costume changes that add new stuff onto the suits, which doesn’t sound that bad until you realise that Miraculous Wielders are capable of Changing thier costume designs anytime they want, meaning more likely than not they could probably just change costumes without the potions. Even the Aqua form is pretty lame once you realise that Ladybug and Cat Noir’s tools function like water breathing devices.
Instead, I think it would be cool that as the heroes wear their miraculouses, they star to bond with them as they get close to their kwamis, allowing them to unlock new abilities over time, similar to how learning the basics of martial arts follows into more advanced styles. It would also make the miraculouses feel more magical and add more depth into them, as it turns the miraculous from magical jewellery that give powers, into a magical experience that grows and changes as the wielder and Kwami bond together on a spiritual and magical level.
It would also help to offer contrast between the heroes and Hawkmoth, because while the latter doesn’t have a timer for his powers and is stronger (for the time being), the heroes bond with their kwami’s and unlock new abilities in the process, while poor Gabe is stuck with his base powers due to forcing Nooroo against his will, only able to unlock more abilities through cheating (aka Scarlet Moth).
10. Change Hawkmoth’s story
Hawkmoth is about as bland of a villain as you can get when it comes to villainy. Even with the whole sob story of Gabe’s wife in a coma and her trying to bring him back, Hawkmoth himself has always been all over the place, especially when the writers try to bring the two sides of the character together. They want him to be unwilling to hurt Adrien in one episode, but then for him to be a dangerous and despicable villain in Chat Blanc. It gets really annoying, as they both want him to be a sympathetic villain, but also a villain who isnt afraid to be pure evil as well.
Also Mayura doesn’t help much with the story either. Before she was revealed, people were speculating that she was a new person would be the actual big bad of the show, and it was rumored that she would be Hawkmoth’s boss, and also the possible reason for Hawkmoth getting the Butterfly Miraculous, which could have been used to expand upon Hawkmoth’s character, and potentially have some sympathy given to him if the writers wanted to go that path, with Mayura being the new evil of the show. Unfortunatlely, it turned out Mayura was Nathalie all along, essentially being a glorified henchman for Hawkmoth, and not only that, but her powers were a copy and Paste of Hawkmoths own abilities (Villain infects an object, something something magic, Ladybug needs to destroy an object and purify it in order to return it to normal)
They could have at least given the job of purifying feathers to Chat, would have made him more essential in season 3 if Mayura was actually used more.
Hawkmoth’s character has stagnated, and personally, I think he needs a rewrite.
Some ideas that I have for Hawkmoth that could make him a better character better are:
Have Mayura be the actual big bad of the show (and a completely different character) and have Hawkmoth be her (somewhat unwilling) lackey. She could also be written to be crueler than Hawkmoth, and could show how Hawkmoth is a more sympathetic character by having him only focused on his son like in Gorizilla, while Mayura’s the one more likely to pull a Chat Blanc situation and absolutely torture the poor cat into being an akuma. Also, it would still allow for those Nathalie/Gabriel moments without ruining them with character changes.
Have the Butterfly Miraculous be corrupted with dark magic (thus allowing Hawkmoth to make possesed villains), but as a side effect make him more crazy, causing him to go from the kindness we see in Gorizilla to the ruthlessness seen in Chat Blanc. (On a a side note, the idea of the Butterfly Miraculous being corrupted would make more sense, given that it can corrupt people into being villains, and would also explain how something that is supposed to be used for good can be used for evil.)
(My Favorite one) Have Gabriel and Hawkmoth being entirely seperate characters. Have Gabe keep the book like in canon and have the Peacock Miraculous be broken, but Hawkmoth is for all intents and purposes a different person who is also a villain. It would allow for Hawkmoth to become an actual villain without the moral restrains made in season 2 with the revelation in The Collector, while also allowing for a story with a nuanced yet kinder Gabriel. Perhaps even a story where Adrien reconnects with his father.
I think that all of these story ideas would really help make Hawkmoth a better character, either by allowing him to be a villain that the writers want him to be like in Chat Blanc, or the sympathetic villain that wants to fix his family.
And that’s about it! Do you agree with this list? Don’t agree? Got more ideas? Reblog this post and write about what you would fix with Miraculous

Note
So, I just read through your rewrites, and the last one I saw was for "Reflekdoll" -- except you covered "Reflekta" from season 1 instead. So, bearing in mind the "Reflekta" you've already done, how would "Reflekdoll" from season 3 proceed? Bonus for Lady Noire having the legit hots for M. Bug, please. (Sorry if this sent multiple times, I was getting Gateway Timeouts from Tumblr!)
Ah see I didn't catch that, thank you for telling me I did the wrong episode. Anyways let's get into Reflekdoll!
First and foremost let's talk about Juleka, I totally love her as a character and all but they use her shyness somewhat as comic relief. Examples being Dark Blade,Gigantitan, and of coure, Reflekta. As someone who suffers from social anxiety it kind of made me mad, it still does but that's besides the point. This episode was supposed to be her trying to overcome that shyness to do something that she dreams of doing. This episode gets some kudos from me for showing the sibling relationship between Juleka and Luka. Juleka has a little pressure on her to begin with though because of it.
Some may disagree with me on that, Luka didn't intentionally place pressure on her but Juleka is taking his advice and she tries to through with the whole model thing because it's not just her dream, she doesn't want to disappoint Luka. We all now he wouldn't be disappointed in her, and Juleka probably knows it too, but anxiety is like that folks. For the sake of the episode this will all be the same but I do want to change something(s) or there to be actual effects of causes on this gosh darn show.
Enter in my problem number 2 (as Juleka's portrayal being 1) Alya, Adrien, and the All Timr Betrayal. Am I being dramatic? Yes! But I'm a dramatic person! I flourish in it. Anyways, Alya, I get she's just trying to be helpful but the reality is she wasn't, and this was another example of an instance where she shouldn't have forced Marinette into something she showed clear disinterest in. This photoshoot wasn't just for shits and giggles. It was for Marinette's future website. Alya knew that. Yet she still tried to make it into a matchmaking session. Adrien should have said no. I know shoppers may be mad at me saying that but Adrien is a professional model, and what do professional models have? Contracts. Gabriel doesn't seem the type to just let Adrien model for anyone and we've only seen Adrien model for Gabriel brand things. It's safe to assume that it's in his contract. He may be an Agreste but Gabriel is professional and would absolutely have Adrien on a contract. I imagine in the contract is states he is only to model the Gabriel brand or any brand Gabriel approved of as he is a minor. Marinette could have been sued if Adrien did model for her and the pictures were used. You can say they're friends all you want and point out that it would be immature of Gabriel to do so but I argue that Gabriel is that immature and it's not a matter of Adrien modeling it's about his Brand and his brand is the second most important thing to him besides the miraculi (I refuse. REFUSE. To say miraculouses. It's dumb and I hate it)
So Adrien should have said no, which could have resulted in Alya trying to get him to do it despite him saying he can't and maybe it takes the a while to the point where they can't do the shoot anymore resulting in Juleka's akumatization. The Miraculous mix up could still be accomplished let's say Adrien gave in last minute, the only thing he takes off is the ring, Marinette took off the earrings and boom Reflekdoll happens they run out without thinking, leaving their Miraculous behind. Same situation happens where Mari and Adrien get shot by the ray and Plagg and Tikki go off with their Miraculous to find their holders. The mix up happens and we still get Mister Bug (hate the name) and Lady Noire. Now the other option is it starts off the same as the actual episode, Adrien agrees because he wants to help out his good friend Marinette. But Marinette resists and is mad at Alya because she told Alya to not involve Adrien, not only because that is super messed up to Juleka but because Marinette actually wanted to get work done and Alya knows how she is around Adrien. Marinette giving in because of Alya and everything else and she doesn't want another friend hurt and the mix up happens again.
Fight is basically the same for each version. Except Adrien is called either Lady Beetle or Red Beetle. SOMETHING OTHER THAN MISTER BUG! That sounds like a name a kid would give a superhero. ("Hey Manon what would you call Ladybug is she was a boy?" "Weird question mom, but I shall answer and his name shall be Mister Bug." "Thank you for your time Manon." "Always a pleasure mom.") His design was legit though, that was a great suit! (So why couldn't they do that for Ladybug?????????????) Lady Noire is cute I like the name, it makes sense and doesn't make me want to rip my hair out, i would have also been okay with Kitty Noire, Kitten Nuit etc. BUT THAT SUIT!? it was nice I guess but simple, and I love Mari but that green did not work well with her, they should have given the outfit Blue highlights and such! And maybe made it not as simple??? Like they give Adrien armor, they couldn't have given Marinette some flare????? The suit for Mari is my only complaint switch wise. I loved the fact that Marinette got to relax somewhat during the fight and actually have fun with it, which is why I don't understand why so many people were mad at her and being mean, like she was just doing what Chat Noir does! But because she does it she's suddenly unprofessional and mean?? Huh, cause that makes sense. Adrien getting frustrated? Thank you for giving the boy some emotions other than Happy or fondly annoyed or lovesick. It was great that they both got a feel of what the other has to do in a fight and it shows that they have the wrong Miraculous but are trying. It shows us that they are the right people for their given Miraculous.
Now I know you wanted shippy stuff but honestly that's one thing I would change for the episode, it being less focused on them and more on Juleka as this was supposed to be about her, give me her mom seeing the giant doll and knowing it's her baby and rushing over along with Luka. Luka asking what happened and Rose telling him what happened. I'm not saying this just because I love Luka, but because, this started out with him and Juleka. Maybe have him think it's his fault and try to apologize to her and that's what makes her hesitate and that's what helps Adrien and Mari get inside the doll and what not. Maybe her shooting her mom with the ray and pausing because she didn't want to do that to her mom. Maybe Juleka is the one who breaks free from Mayura and when she does Mari and Adrien get to her akumatized object. Also give me shorter time limits after they each use their special power because they are not using the right Miraculous and the Miraculous knows that. Maybe they can't hold the transformation as long as they would normally be able to. I can see Mari looking at "Chat" and the changes he made to her suit and being like "That's actually super cool" and complementing him on it and next time we see her, we get a suit upgrade.
And finally the end of the episode. Instead of Juleka and Adrien modeling, which I have nothing against but again the whole model contract thing and the fact he has to go, I want to change. Adrien does leave and he feels super bad for it but maybe this is the thing that makes him asl his dad to maybe help out Marinette or give him pointers to give to her, or maybe even him asking his dad if he could work with other designers like with the hat competition. End of with either Juleka and Luka, Juleka and Rose, or Juleka and Marinette. The Juleka and Luka would be cute because the episode started with the siblings and it can end with the siblings and it would still show off Marinette's designs on both females and males. Juleka and Rose because it would be nice to see the couple look on them and it would show a same sex couple which would be super cool and cute as i think they could totally pull it off. And Juleka and Marinette would be cool because it would show people that Marinette wears her designs herself and is proud of them and the added bonus of Marinette and Juleka having a heart to heart while changing or after the shoot and Marinette asling Juleka to model more for her. And maybe an apology from Alya to Marinette or Juleka or both after Marinette apologizes to Juleka. Maybe a group apology? Idk just...an apology please. Kids need to know that some actions have consequences and it's okay to admit you were wrong and friends do apologize to one another.
But yeah! I did like the episode overall though! I think we were all looking forward to the swap I just think they could have handled it better.

Okay, so first of all you’re??? REALLY good at adjusting the show!!! I just read your response to the ask about rewriting the series to make it obvious that Adrien and Marinette weren’t each other’s love interests, and can I say that I wish you’d been one of the writers for the show??? It would’ve been so much better like that... Anyways, along the lines of that idea, are there any specific episodes you’d change, and if so, what would those changes be? And would you add in new episodes?
knDJGFDG THANK YOU, FIRSTLY. MDFDGDFG
And secondly, I mean, barring a few exceptions, I would probably change every episode in some way or another, but that’s more in a general sense (like, “Stormy Weather” does a really good “Marinette is not having a genuine true love crush” thing, but the babysitting plot just isn’t fun, so I’d change it).
I talked about this a long time ago, but I’d change “Troublemaker” and “Frightningale” to include Luka and Kagami respectively. The former is honestly an even better decision now because of “Desperada,” letting Luka interact with Jagged before he gets to know that Jagged has interacted with his mother. “Animaestro” could also feature Luka since he works part-time at the bakery and would be more than happy to believe in and help Marinette around (Luka and Marinette in matching butler/maid outfits, hear me out--).
The idea we’re going for here is that, even though neither Luka nor Marinette meet each other “forcefully,” (like how Marinette automatically sees Adrien since they’re in the same class), they’re happily making plans to see each other and that’s the kind of effort that gives them a special relationship; whenever they meet, it’s often because they want to and not due to any outside force.
On the Adrimi side, Adrien would be kept more passive until Kagami comes along, at which point he turns rebellious. It’s not a romance-centric thing, but rather him seeing someone else in the circumstances that he’s in. He always wanted to sneak out to see his friends, but it’s once Kagami is having similar problems that Adrien sees himself and encourages her to rebel because he hates seeing her isolated. Then he realizes that, yeah, they’re teenagers, why shouldn’t they be allowed to have some fun? (cue Adrien/Chat humming Mission Impossible theme while sneaking out to go see Kagami, transforming and de-transforming as it suits where he is in the moment)
Episodes like “Glaciator” and “Syren” with Chat acting out would also be used as evidence that Adrien is letting this need to be Ladybug’s #1 go too far. Plagg would steer him to that conclusion in his own Plagg way and Adrien would eventually get it. Meanwhile, Tikki would go through something similar with Marinette; Tikki did support the love square at first, but also slowly realized that it’s not good for either party (”Silencer” would likely be the kicker there, making Tikki realize that Marinette doesn’t have eyes for only Adrien).
Depending on circumstances, I don’t know if I’d be adding episodes because I prefer to stay within the 26-episodes-per-season thing. I’ve talked at length about cutting episodes like “Gigantitan” and “The Puppeteer 2,” but I’ve always replaced them by making a different episode a two-parter instead.
(naturally, having a “Frozer” two-parter would be even more important in this hypothetical rewrite)
Episodes I could add theoretically could be an episode exploring Luka dealing with the whole Jagged-Anarka thing (with Marinette’s help) and an episode with Marinette+Luka and Adrien+Kagami ending up at the same place and interacting in a purely friendly setting without any outside influence (until the inevitable akuma-of-the-episode comes by, of course).

Divergent Points Chapter 1
So I decided to write a sequel to Turning Points in a similar sort of style to the last chapter of it, as an episode rewrite fic with the new revelations that occurred in Turning Points affecting the episode’s plot. I’m not going to do this with ALL season 3 episodes, just the ones that I think would change in an interesting way that I want to write. So like, I wouldn’t cover Bakerix for instance, since the changes from Turning Points wouldn’t affect it much, and I don’t feel the need to write a fix-it for it. And some plots may not happen at all, Like Christmaster for example. Since Alya and Nino know just HOW swamped Marinette is and that she may have to leave at any moment, they don’t ask her to babysit and in fact, Alya volunteers to take over as Manon’s primary babysitter. She’s already ended up babysitting her a few times anyway.
Currently I’m planning to write chapters for Animaestro, Oni-chan (probably. I fee like I need to because it’s Lila related, but I’m unsure of how the plot would go), maybe Reflekdoll (though I think I’d focus on Alya more than Chat’s and Ladybug’s relationship), Feast, Ikari Gozen, and Ladybug. I may add more over time.
------------
Marinette was REALLY looking forward to taking down Hawkmoth.
Seriously, akumatizing poor August AGAIN?! He was barely old enough to walk, he shouldn’t have to worry about being turned into a supervillain!
Or, well, have his parents worry about it. She was pretty sure that he had no idea that Gigantitan had ever happened.
And akumatizing at NIGHT as well! She needed sleep! Chat needed sleep! And August’s parents sure as hell needed sleep, she knew how much of a handful kids were. Hopefully they wouldn’t stress about him too much, they really couldn’t do much to keep a toddler from feeling negative emotions on occasion, and August wasn’t old enough to self-regulate his emotions very effectively yet, especially since he couldn’t yet comprehend why he would need to.
At least Hawkmoth had chosen to do this on a Saturday night. It would have been WAY worse during the week.
But at least it was an excuse to see Chat again. Not that she NEEDED much of one - they’d been sneaking out to meet up with each other more often than they technically needed to anyway - but it was the principle of the matter.
Gigantitan spat out the Lucky Charm she’d summoned, a giant plastic donut, and slammed it into the topmost floor of her house. Since her parents were still on the street, she wasn’t particularly worried. The damage would be repaired when she used the Miraculous Ladybug and no one would have been hurt.
“Guess he likes the best macaroons in Paris more than a plastic chew toy. Gotta admit, he has taste.” Chat quipped.
Ladybug rolled her eyes playfully. “He does, but maybe we should stop him from eating my pa- I mean the Dupain-Cheng Bakery’s entire stock of sweets? They’d be brought back after I repair everything, but it still probably wouldn’t be good for him, and I hate to see the building smashed up, even temporarily.
Chat nodded, giving a flirtatious wink. “Of course milady. And maybe we’ll have some free time to hang out afterwards? I don’t think I could go back to sleep after this right away anyway.”
She giggled a little at that. “Maybe, kitty cat. Better hurry though! We need to deal with this and take August back first!”
“Right,” Chat straightened up, putting on his more serious face. “Better get to it then!”
Chat and Ladybug rushed at Gigantitan.
A Cataclysm and a call of “Miraculous Ladybug!” later, little August fell into Ladybug’s outstretched arms.
“Late night craving, huh?” Ladybug asked as she spun the toddler around. She hugged and kissed him. “Aw, you’re so adorable!”
“Gotta admit, I’m a little jealous,” Chat quipped.
Ladybug laughed. “Don’t be. As adorable as he is, YOU’RE even cuter. Don’t worry. You’ll get your kisses, kitty.”
Her earrings started beeping. “I should probably get back for now though. My parents might be worried. Bug out!”
She gave him a quick peck on the cheek and yo-yoed back to her balcony.
Chat gave a lovesick sigh. “Ladybug’s so amazing. I can’t believe this is reality. That I get to spend time with such a wonderful girl. And that she likes me back!”
August din’t seem to care about his lovesick ramblings though. “Dummy!”
Chat blinked, taking a closer look at August. He realized what was missing. “Oh, right, the pacifier! How could I forget! It was your akumatized object this time after all. Ladybug must have accidentally taken it! Hold on, I’ll see whether I can get it back.”
He vaulted to Marinette’s balcony.
Marinette blinked. “Chat? What is it?”
“Dummy!” August called out, reaching out towards Marinette.
A look of realization spread across her face. “Oh! Right! I forgot I still had that.”
She handed it over to Chat, who placed it back in August’s mouth.
“Aww!” she cooed again.
Looking back up at Chat, she put her serious face on. “You really DO need to leave now. August needs to get back to his parents, and I need to show mine that I’m okay. I imagine they’ll be worried after Gigantitan shoved my Lucky Charm through my bedroom wall.”
Chat nodded, giving her a soft smile. “I know. But is there time for a goodbye kiss at least?”
She cursed his soft smile. He KNEW she couldn’t resist those. It was hard enough coming from Chat, but knowing now that he’s Adrien? She was a goner.  “Ok, kitty. But just one! No turning it into a few dozen.”
He chuckled. “Fine, fine. You’ll need to keep to that too, though.”
She blushed. Both of them had a tendency to want to cuddle and kiss for way longer than they probably should. They really needed to officially announce their relationship soon. It was getting hard to resist making out while at school. The rest of the class seemed to heavily suspect that they were together - they’d been able to resist outright making out, but they COULDN’T stop cuddling close to each other - but they still hadn’t declared publicly that they were dating. It just hadn’t seemed like the right time. Plus, they needed to get their stories straight on how it happened first. The full truth obviously wasn’t going to fly.
She stood up on her tiptoes and kissed him, pulling him close.
Unfortunately for them, that was the moment her dad frantically opened her balcony hatch door.
“MARIne...” He trailed off, shocked at the sight in front of him.
His daughter, looking like a deer in headlights, embracing one of the Heroes of Paris, lips locked against his, a toddler held in Chat’s arms.
They jumped apart slightly.
Tom just smiled, making a noise that sounded suspiciously like a squeal.
He emerged from the hatch, both Marinette and Chat stammering slightly, trying to think of some excuse for why they were making out, and both utterly failing. Tom put a hand on Chat’s shoulder, just as he started to make an excuse about needing to take August back. “Wait! Why don’t you have Sunday brunch with us tomorrow?”
Chat blinked. “Really?”
Tom nodded eagerly. “Of course! I’d love to get to know my daughter’s boyfriend better!”
Chat blinked. “You’re... not mad?”
“About what?”
“That we didn’t tell you?”
Tom hummed for a minute. “Well I would’ve preferred that Marinette had told us, but I understand. And if I’m going to trust anyone to do right by Marinette, one of the Heroes of Paris seems as trustworthy as you can get.”
Chat blushed.
Sabine popped her head out of the hatch. “Marinette- oh!”
Tom turned around. “I found out why Marinette’s been so happy lately! She’s gotten herself a boyfriend! A superhero, no less!”
Sabine took a closer look at the still-scarlet lovebirds. “Well, that explains why we’ve been hearing more voices from Marinette’s bedroom than usual. I just thought you were watching some videos.”
“You... heard us?” Marinette asked, sounding strangled.
Sabine nodded. “Yes. He’s been visiting a lot hasn’t he?”
Marinette gave up any illusions of getting out of this. “Yep.”
Sabine smiled. “Well I’m happy for you. But now that we know, can you please tell us when he’s visiting? I’m not going to tell you to stop visiting, but I like to know who’s over. Plus then I can make snacks for you both. I trust you two are being responsible?”
“Mom, we’re too young for that!” Marinette shouted, blushing harder.
“Always best to be prepared dear.”
“MOM!”
Chat’s ring beeped. Marinette tore herself away from glaring at her mom, looking at Chat concernedly. “You’d better leave and get August back to his parents now before you transform back.”
He nodded, smiling. “See you tomorrow for brunch, Princess.”
Chat turned and vaulted away.
Marinette watched him as he left, a soft smile on her face.
Which was quickly ruined by her father’s interjection. “Sooo, Princess, huh?”
“DAD!”
---------------------
After depositing August back with his parents, Adrien barely made it back to his house in time. He collapsed onto his bed just as his ring gave a final beep.
Plagg flew out of the ring. “So Sunday brunch with the parents, huh? Sounds serious.”
Adrien gave a lovesick sigh. “Yeaah...”
Plagg shrugged, giving up on intelligent conversation for the time being. “Hey, I’m happy just so long as there’s cheese.”
Adrien mumbled something incoherent, but pulled out his phone.
Adrien: A little friend of mine would really like something cheesy to eat when I come over. Is there anything you could do? If it’s not too much trouble, of course.
Princess: It’s never any trouble. I was already planning on fixing some macaroons for my own little friend, I’ll make some treats for yours as well. We haven’t sold it in years, but we used to make this Camembert puff pastry. Does this look good?
Adrien stared at the picture she sent of the pastry, with it cut open to show the oozing camembert. He snickered a little. “Hey Plagg? You might want to take a look at this.”
Plagg looked up from where he was digging into his cheese stash. “What? I’m eating right nooooo....”
Adrien turned his phone around, showing him a picture of the pastry.
“It’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen,” Plagg whispered, tears in his eyes. Abruptly he flew up, his meal (temporarily) forgotten. He squished Adrien’s cheeks between his little paws. “MARRY. THAT. GIRL.” He told him firmly.
Adrien pulled back slightly, laughing his head off. “I fully intend to, if she’ll have me.”
Princess: We need to figure what we’ll tell them about us... you know... dating. If Chat’s dating Marinette, then that means that he’s NOT dating Ladybug and that Marinette can’t date Adrien.
Adrien blinked. “...Crap.”
Adrien: Maybe we should ask Alya and Nino for advice? They might have ideas.
Princess: On it.
*On a group text with Marinette, Alya, Nino, and Adrien*
Princess: Chat and I got into a bit of a bind today. I was on my balcony detransformed when Chat came to give me a goodbye kiss, and my parents caught us! They figured out that he’d been dropping by for awhile, apparently we weren’t as quiet as we thought. They want to have brunch tomorrow with my new boyfriend!
Alya: Sounds great to me! What’s the problem?
Princess: The PROBLEM is that Marinette can’t date Adrien and Chat can’t date Ladybug if Marinette’s already dating Chat!
Alya: Why not?
Princess: Because everyone would think we’re cheating on each other!
Alya: Open relationships and polygamous relationships DO exist, Mari.
Adrien frowned. “Open relationships and polygamous relationships? I’ve never heard of either of those.”
He googled the terms and blew his mind.
“You can be in a relationship with more than one person AT THE SAME TIME and have it be OKAY?”
Heart beating fast, he texted.
Adrien: Would this work, milady?
A few minutes passed with no response from the love of his life. The anticipation was killing him.
Adrien: ...Princess?
At last, a reply came through.
Princess: Sorry, just needed to scream into my pillow for a bit. These past several months before finding out Chat’s identity I was SO WORRIED and in denial about my feelings towards Chat because I was in love with Adrien and I didn’t think I could be with two boys at the same time, and now I’ve learned that even not COUNTING the whole reveal, I didn’t need to worry about that?! So long as Adrien/Chat was okay with it, of course.
Adrien chuckled, a dopey grin spreading across his face again. Any reminder that His Lady LOVED HIM BACK brought out the lovestruck fool in him, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Adrien: So are we good? May I tell your parents about my lovely girlfriends, my sweet princess and my feisty lady?
Princess: Only if I can introduce them to my boyfriends, my dorky kitty and my kind prince.
Adrien: Oh, so I’m a prince now?
Princess: But of course. If I’m a princess, then what else could you be?
Adrien: Yours.
Bro: Dudes, as much as I enjoy watching you two flirt now that you FINALLY realize that you like each other, you know you’re still on the groupchat, right?
Alya: NINO!
Adrien blushed. He HAD forgotten. He’d gotten so caught up in flirting that he just... didn’t think about it. He had a feeling that Marinette was going through the same thing though, which lessened the sing of embarrassment to almost nothing.
God... Marinette was FLIRTING with him! Marinette loved him! He didn’t think he’d ever get over that.
Back on their private chat, he texted Marinette back.
Adrien:  Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, milady. I shall be counting down the hours until this black cat crosses your path again.
He sighed and put away his phone. Time to get some sleep. Didn’t want to be tired for his date, after all.
--------
Adrien ditched his supposed lunch with his father almost immediately after it was *supposed* to start. His father had done it enough times to him after all, and he’d MUSH rather hang out with Marinette’s family than to sit on the opposite side of a huge table from his father, making awkward conversation.
Well... ‘conversation’. Could it truly be called that, when his father never listened to him? When there was no give-and-take? Most of the talks he had with his father consisted of his father chastising him over some infraction or telling him to do or not to do something. Not asking; TELLING. Like when he ordered Adrien to dress up as Chat Noir for Clara Nightingale’s music video, against his protests. Or when his father ordered him to practice a piano piece more and play it for him again later that day because he was unhappy with his performance, even over his protests of missing out on an outing with his friends that he’d already gotten permission for.
Then again, wasn’t that just how adults were with kids? Gabriel may have been the most extreme example, but pretty much all the adults he interacted with fell into the same categories. Nathalie mostly just told him when he could or couldn’t do something, though she would at least try to explain something if he asked her about it. His photographer was always ordering him around at photoshoots and chastising him if he got his performance wrong - not that Adrien blamed him, it was his job. Teachers always just lectured on material and told students what they needed to do. Even Master Fu only talked to him when he strictly needed to, during and after the battle with Syren, and that was mostly to give him a quick overview of what the guardians and Miraculous were and to give him the new cheese power-ups. It felt like listening to a teacher talk. He was given a lecture with some info, but he never really had a proper conversation with the guy, and he hadn’t seen him since.
“Children are to be seen and not heard.”
He’d never heard an adult actually say that line, but it seemed to be true nonetheless. It was part of why he valued his friends so highly. There was no one he could actually talk with who WASN’T his own age.
Well, not counting Plagg.
He gave Plagg a fond look. Plagg was the biggest change in his life. He was someone he could really, actually talk with, show every side of himself, and he was ALWAYS there. He didn’t have to worry about his father taking Plagg away and leaving him completely isolate like with his other friends, and Plagg didn’t seem like he wanted to leave Adrien. He tried to cheer Adrien up when he was down, or sometimes just roll his eyes at Adrien’s antics. He could be pretty annoying at times and Adrien could occasionally get annoyed or frustrated with him, but Plagg never seemed to get too upset with him in turn. He never dismissed Adrien’s feelings when he was upset. He did make fun of Adrien slightly when he was in what Plagg had dubbed ‘lovesick kitten’ mode, but at those times he was too far gone to care. Plus he liked just joking around a bit. It was a freedom he didn’t often have as Adrien, though since the Reveal, he’d been slipping in more jokes and teasing while he was with his friends.
Never around adults though. They would get upset with him, possibly even get word to his father that he wasn’t taking things seriously enough. Then his father might stop him from going out with his friends after school, or even pull him from school entirely and keep him trapped in his giant, empty room.
His breath hitched at the thought.
Plagg gave him a concerned look, but didn’t ask. Instead he just said, “Come on kitten, we don’t want to be late.” A greedy smile stole across his face. “There’s a camembert puff pastry with my name on it!”
Adrien gave him a deadpan look, shaken out of his depressing thoughts. “I can see you drooling.”
“Cheeeeese...”
Adrien rolled his eyes. “Okay let’s go, the sooner we head over there the sooner you get your treat. Plagg, claws out!”
Chat Noir leaped out his window, heading to what he hoped would be a MUCH more enjoyable brunch than the one he just left.
------
Marinette paced nervously on her balcony.
“It’s Chat Noir. It’s just Chat Noir. He’s been here dozens of times before, this is no big deal. He’s just coming over to eat. It’s no big deal. SO WHY AM I SO WORRIED?!” she cried out, frustrated.
“It’s natural to be concerned about introducing your boyfriend to your parents,” Tikki told her. “I don’t think you have anything to worry about, though. They already like him, right? And Chat’s a perfect gentleman. Knowing your parents, knowing Chat, do you really think they’ll have a problem with each other?”
“...No,” Marinette admitted.
Maybe before the Reveal when she didn’t know Chat as well, when she didn’t know BOTH sides of him, she might’ve thought that he’d be too over-the-top or flirty or something. And if she had invited ADRIEN over post-reveal to introduce him as her boyfriend to her parents... well. She had had a very skewed vision of him before, one that got compounded her anxiety and nervousness around him to the point that the Adrien in her head (or at least in her anxiety-fueled imaginings) bore almost no resemblance to the actual article.
But now she knew better. Even her worst anxiety couldn’t warp her vision of her partner much. She understood him too well.
Not perfectly - they were still feeling out this new post-identity reveal world, she was sure she’d be discovering new facets to his personality and worldview for a long time to come - but well enough.
She took a deep breath and slowly exhaled. “Ok. I’m ready.”
Tikki smiled at her. “Good, because here he comes!”
Marinette glanced over to where Tikki was looking. Sure enough, she spotted a black figure jumping around, moving towards her.
He landed on her balcony a few moments later. “Well, Princess? Care to bring in this poor lost little kitty for a snack?”
She giggled and gave him a soft, playful punch on the shoulder. “I hope this kitty is ready for a feast. My parents tend to go a little... overboard.”
He gave her a dazzling smile. “Who wouldn’t when it comes to you, Marinette.”
She gave a slight squeak. Damn her kitty. Damn her prince. He KNEW she couldn’t resist that expression. He was totally giving her that look on purpose.
Luckily she knew how to get him back.
She gave him a kiss on the cheek and a small smile. “Ah, but this is for you, mon minou. And you deserve it just as much.”
His face lit up bright red. He visibly melted into her touch as she caressed his cheek.
Revenge was sweet.
---------
Tom and Sabine waited downstairs with several trays of different heart-shaped treats.
Looking around at the different macaroons, cupcakes, and other pastries, Sabine seemed a little chagrinned. “I think we may have overdone it, Tom.”
“I wouldn’t worry too much. That boy must work up quite the appetite, saving Paris almost every night! Plus he seems about Marinette’s age, he’s a growing boy.”
Sabine hummed. “I suppose so. And if there’s any left over, I guess Marinette could always take them to class.”
Tom laughed. “See! Nothing to worry about!”
Sabine noticed movement out of the corner of her eyes. She turned, seeing Marinette and Chat Noir making their way down the stairs. “Oh! There they are!”
“The lovebirds have arrived!” Tom proclaimed. Both of said lovebirds blushed, Chat scratching the back of his neck.
“Nice to see you again, Mr. and Mrs Dupain-Cheng,” Chat said politely. Inside he was squirming. Come on, what do you say to your girlfriend’s parents? What do they expect from me? What are they going to tell me to do? Do I need to ask permission to date their daughter? Pretty sure they’ve already given that though. They SEEM happy enough with me... but that could change if I don’t say or do the right thing.
“Please, call me Tom,” Tom said.
“And I’m Sabine,” Sabine formally introduced herself.
Chat blinked. Call adults by their first names? Like how he’d call his friends? But it was so informal! Usually there was some sort of barrier, some sort of formality whenever he talked to (or was talked at, really) by adults, but Marinette’s parents seemed different.
How was he supposed to interact with them? What was he supposed to do?
“Okay Tom, Sabine,” he said awkwardly.
“We just finished laying out the first course!” Tom exclaimed. He hurried over to the dining table, gesturing for them to sit down.
Chat sat, Marinette sitting down beside him. As Tom brought out some macaroons, he noticed how close all four of them were sitting to each other. He and his father sat at opposite ends of a huge table, enforcing distance between them. But Marinette and her family all sat together, as close together as he did with his classmates. With his friends.
Actually, the last time he’d sat down and ate THIS close to other people, was all the way back at Christmas, when his father had permitted for all of Adrien’s friends, everyone who had been worried about him, to sit down and eat Christmas dinner together at the huge dining table, like one big family.
Funnily enough, his Father and Nathalie hadn’t eaten with them. They’d just stood to the side, watching as Adrien ate with his friends.
A lump formed in his throat. He wasn’t sure why.
Gingerly Chat grabbed a macaroon, eager to eat something and hopefully make that lump go away. It tasted as delicious as any Dupain-Cheng pastry did - VERY.
“Sooo... how did you two meet?” Tom asked.
Marinette looked like a deer in headlights. In all the excitement yesterday, they’d forgotten to put together a good story about how they met. Chat quickly decided to take the reins on this one. Marinette may be great at coming up with plans during battle, but she could freeze up just like everyone else under pressure, especially in social situations. He’d been privy to that first-hand.
He’d have to make this up on the fly. Hopefully Marinette agreed with his story and could follow his lead.
“I’ve known Marinette since she helped with taking down Evillustrator a few months ago. Even at the time, I knew she was brave, smart, and VERY cute.” He threw Marinette a flirtatious wink. “I didn’t see her much after that for awhile. I saved her from an occasional akuma, like the Gamer for instance. I ran across her again a few months after that, when I was lamenting Ladybug not showing up to a surprise I’d had planned. Ladybug had told me she had plans and probably wouldn’t be able to make it, but I still hoped that she would. When she didn’t, I went over to a nearby rooftop - Marinette’s. I was lonely and wanted some company. Turns out, she felt the same way. A friend of hers that she’d really wanted to hang out with hadn’t been able to make it to an ice cream hang out she and her friends had set up, and she was feeling down.”
At this point, Marinette had caught on, and decided to take over the explanation. No need to have him do all the work. “Both of us lamented how the people we’d wanted to spend time with hadn’t been able to make it. Chat decided to show me the surprise he’d set up for Ladybug. You should have seen it Papa! He’d placed candles on this one rooftop and strewn it with rose petals. It was beautiful!”
Chat switched over, taking his own turn. “After that... well... if I happened to see Marinette out on her balcony I’d talk to her. I MAY have dropped by the area more often than patrol required, exactly. As I talked with her more and more, I fell in love with her. How could anyone not, once they’ve met Marinette?”
Marinette’s blush could have cooked marshmallows. She KNEW he thought the world of her, but it still threw her hearing it.
She cleared her throat. “A-Anyway, one thing led to another, and these past few weeks we’ve been a bit more than friends. We haven’t been... DOING anything, and we don’t plan to anytime soon!” She added hastily, remembering her mother’s remarks yesterday. “But we’ve been... together.”
“We’ve been keeping it quiet,” Chat cut in. “If Hawkmoth knew that Marinette and I were a couple, he might target her to get at me. Only a few people know.”
Marinette took a deep breath. Best to get this out here before it caused problems later. At least this part they HAD worked out last night. “Also... you should know that Chat and I aren’t... exclusive. Ladybug finally realized what a CAT-ch she had under her nose. And Adrien... well...”
“Adrien finally realized what a MORON he’d been to not fall for Marinette sooner,” Chat stated bluntly.
Marinette giggled a little. “Anyway, accusations of idiocy aside, Adrien, Ladybug, Chat, and I found an opportunity to talk a few weeks ago. We found out that each of us had fallen for two people - turns out Ladybug likes Adrien as much as I do - so we decided that instead of competing for each other, we’d just... share. It’s been working great so far, though none of us have come out in public about any of our relationships yet. When we do, the plan is for only me and Adrien to declare that we’re dating, and for Ladybug and Chat Noir to do the same. It would be just as risky for Hawkmoth to discover that Ladybug’s dating Adrien as for him to find out that Chat’s dating me.”
Sabine and Tom gave supportive nods. Sabine spoke, “So long as everyone’s okay with it and it’s working well, I’m happy for you - for both of you. And don’t worry. We won’t tell anyone about either of you dating unless you say it’s okay to.”
Chat blinked. A parent asking their child for permission in order to do something? That- that was a thing? In all his life, he couldn’t remember his Father ever asking his permission to do anything. A parent had the right to tell their child to do whatever they wanted. The kid’s opinion didn’t matter.
But Marinette’s family didn’t work that way.
Tom turned to Chat. “I should get to know one of our daughter’s boyfriends better! What do you like to do when you’re NOT saving Paris, young man?”
What did he like to do? Well...
“I like to play video games?” he said almost questioningly. There really wasn’t much he did for his own entertainment. “Ultimate Mecha Strike III is my favorite. Marinette kicks my butt at it every time though.”
Tom and Sabine’s grins looked about ready to crack through their faces, they were so wide. “OUR FOURTH PLAYER!” they shouted.
Chat just felt confused.
Marinette looked a little exasperated and embarrassed, but smiled nonetheless. She explained. “All three of us are avid video game players. The reason I’m so good is because I practiced against my parents a lot, actually. We’ve been wanting to check out 2 VS 2 mode for awhile, like we had in that video game tournament Max and I won a few months back, for awhile now, but never had enough players to.”
“Can- can we play right now?” Chat asked, his heart beating fast. He wasn’t sure whether this was allowed, but he REALLY wanted to play. Fighting against Marinette in a video game was fun, but fighting WITH her? Chat with His Lady at his side? It sounded infinitely better.
Marinette gave him a soft smile. Butterflies fluttered in Chat’s stomach. “Of course, kitty.”
As the four of them played the game, Chat just kept on grinning. He was playing alongside Marinette, with her parents eagerly playing against them. They’d WANTED to spend time with him, seemed happy he was here. They’d talked with him, not just ordered him to do something. They wanted to know about HIM, what HE liked to do.
Had his father ever asked about what ADRIEN wanted? Had he ever cared?
Chat’s mech faltered as his vision blurred, allowing Sabine to score a hit and win a match for the first time since they’d started playing.
“Kitty? Are you okay? What’s wrong?” Marinette asked, concerned.
He reached up a hand to wipe his eyes. It came away wet.
He was crying.
“O-oh,” he said. Why was he crying, he just- he just-
“I- I just can’t believe how FRIENDLY your parents are. They- they act as if they’re friends with me. They listen to what you have to say. They’re interested in what I like to do. They even said they’d ask permission before doing something involving you. And they seemed HAPPY to see you - to see BOTH of us! And they CARE about your happiness! I- I just- I-”
He broke down into tears completely. Marinette leaned against him.
Hesitatingly Tom and Sabine approached, match forgotten. This was much more important.
“Would it help if we hugged you?” Tom asked.
Chat looked up, crying even harder. He-he was asking what Chat wanted? It seemed like he was even asking permission.
These people... why did they seem to care about him, what he thought, what he felt, more than his own father did? More than any other adults in his life did?
“Yes please,” He croaked.
As one, Sabine, Tom, and Marinette gave him a long hug as he cried. The pressure felt nice. He hadn’t had a hug like this, one that made him feel safe and loved, since his mom had disappeared.
It felt like family.
They kept hugging him until he stopped crying. Sabine and Tom relaxed their holds, though Marinette continued cuddling up with him. He didn’t mind. He’d never mind being with Marinette.
“Do you want to talk about it?” Sabine asked.
Looking at her face, Chat was certain that if he said ‘no’, that would be the end of it. They wouldn’t pry. They wouldn’t demand to have a conversation that he wasn’t ready for.
That made him want to talk more, knowing he really, truly had a choice.
“Yes.”
He took a shaky breath, focusing his attention on Tom and Sabine. “Y-you care about me. About what I want. Not just what you want me to do. Why?”
They exchanged worried looks. Tom spoke up. “Why wouldn’t we care about what you want? People SHOULD be worried about others. Should care about others wants and needs, and not just when they need something from that person. Beyond that, you’re someone my daughter cares about, and getting to know you even in this short time, I care about you as well.”
“But- but- parents DON’T listen to their kids! They don’t care about their feelings or their opinions or their thoughts on anything. So why do you?”
Tom gave him a gentle look. “Parents SHOULD care about their kids, about their opinions on things. About what they think. Do you have any adults you can talk to about this? Anyone to help guide you, since it doesn’t sound like your parents are talking WITH you much?”
Chat shook his head. Plagg was great, but he wouldn’t exactly count him as an adult, and his guidance... well. There was a reason he never asked Plagg for advice on love related matters. He didn’t have much experience navigating human social situations. Or caring. Plagg tended to just be blunt.
Tom and Sabine exchanged another look. They seemed to come to some sort of silent agreement. Sabine spoke. “Well then, how about you come to us if you need advice, or just to hang out for awhile? We’d be happy to have you.”
Chat’s breath hitched. They’d WHAT? “You- you mean it? I can just... come over? And talk with you? No strings? No appointments? Just- I want to come over, and I can?”
They both nodded, Tom speaking this time. “Of course if you don’t call ahead we can’t GUARANTEE we’d be here, but since we work here, there’s a good chance we will be. Any time you want to come over, for whatever reason, please, feel free.”
Chat gave a mute nod, smiling. “Can- can we go back to playing Ultimate Mecha Strike III?” he said waveringly. “I think- I think I need some time.”
“If you want to, then of course,” Marinette said. Her parents nodded, settling back into their previous positions, before his breakdown.
They played for another hour, until he was worried he might be missed and had to leave.
Before heading to Marinette’s balcony to pole-vault away, packaged of Camambert puff pastries in hand, he hesitated.
“Are- are you okay with this?” he asked her. “Me coming over to talk with your parents, I mean.”
She nodded, giving him a gentle, caring look that melted him into mush. “If I’d realized how bad you had it I’d have brought you over sooner kitty, secret identities or not.”
“But-”
She leaned towards him. His body realized what she wanted before his brain did. He leaned towards her, meeting her halfway.
They stayed kissing for several more seconds. By the time they broke apart, his previous objection, whatever it may have been, was forgotten.
“You should go now, kitty. Don’t want an interruption during goodbye kisses again, do we?”
“If it leads to another time like this one, princess,” he whispered. “I wouldn’t mind. Not in the slightest.”
But he really DID have to go. He left, the taste of her lips and the feeling of her family’s hug staying with him for a long time afterwards.
-------------
“Sooooo, have you married her yet?”
“Not yet Plagg, I can’t do that until I’m eighteen!”
“But her family seems to have already taken you in.”
“No, I can just come by whenever I want and stay over as long as I want and talk to them about stuff, and they’ll listen to me and ask about what I want to do and-”
“You should stay. You’re happier there.”
“I can’t. Father’s still- well, my father! Even if I wanted to, I can’t just decide where to live on my own. A court would have to decide that.”
“Bah. Petty human laws.”
“You just want to stay over there so Marinette can make you as many camembert puff pastries as you can eat.”
“They’re SO GOOD.”
“She’s bringing some to school tomorrow, carrying them around stinks less than just carrying plain camembert cheese around.”
“But that’s soooo looooong from now!”
“Now you know how I feel every time I’m separated from her.”

Oh? Let’s hear it.
(I actually had the idea for a loose season 3 rewrite, but Mari gave up on her crush in Gigantitan. More fluff than salt.)
@legallyspawned @virgil-is-a-cutie @saltynexus
I have VERY distinct memories of an episode (probably Gigantitan) starting with Marinette not wanting to continue her pursuit of Adrien, because he seemed happy with Kagami. Only for Alya and the girl squad to shut her down with claims of “we sunk too much into this to back out now,” and create another plan to get them together.
Did that happen, or did I imagine it?
