When I heard that song for the first time, I immediately knew: it's Danny singing about Steve!

Now we're celebrating Steve's birthday (and in Poland March 10th is National Men Day and this year is my 12th year of loving Steve McGarrett) so I thought that I'll give him this - err... Danny's photo album? Danny's diary? Just some pics saying "Thank you" and "I love you"? (choose what you want, babes)

And of course Danny singing it for Steve (Danny making the first step, yes, love confession 🥰) is still an option. It's still in my head (Michael's voice is Danny's voice) so I'm sharing both: pictures and headcanon.

March ignored the frown tugging at her lips, schooling her reaction -- Dan Heng didn't need that, so she didn't gift it. Dan Heng channeled neutrality, uncaring almost, but March didn't miss the sorrow in which he recounted memory, the barely-there ... no, it wasn't nostalgia. It wasn't as fond as that, more...

Shame.

“Hatching Day sounds a lot cuter than birthday,” March spoke after an unusual pause, aiming to consider her thoughts rather than spit them out inattentively; the subject had become murky, not as easygoing as March would've hoped. Dan Heng needed care, not... well, carelessness. “But... everyone has a right to celebrate their birthday, Dan Heng! It doesn't matter what happened in this life or your last, you should be celebrated.”

I won't make you talk about it, she had said — and she won't. This was Dan Heng's to tell, and although she'd assert the offer as many times as needed, March wouldn't force him to speak of anything. So, sitting upright, March copied his gestures, arms folded neatly against her chest. Humming, silence. Humming, silence. Humming... silence.

“Then I'll just give you a birthday! You said you don't care, right? Sooo, I'll place it into the hands of somebody - or somebodies - who do care! I don't wanna' spend another spin around the sun not having a day to celebrate you! Uhhh, your birthday, I mean. Awkward. Anyway, you don't have any choice in the matter! We, the Astral Express, want to give thanks to our grumpy but dutiful archivist!
