Tumblr media
In February, Adham, a 20-year-old Palestinian, was visiting his family’s home in the West Bank. One night while scrolling through Grindr, the gay messaging app, he received a message from an anonymous user “hey,” the user wrote, before “tapping,” the platform’s function for expressing interest. The user, like Adham’s, had a blank profile that included only minimal information about his interests and whereabouts, specifying only where he lived. (Drop Site News has changed his name to protect him from retaliation.) They hit it off and were chatting for a few hours before Adham shared that he was a university student in the West Bank. That prompted the user to share his thoughts on several professors at the university who had recently drawn attention for voicing pro-Palestine views. “He wanted me to be disgusted by them,” Adham told Drop Site. “Why are you trying to convince me that this doctor is a bad person just because he's against the occupation? It feels weird at first. Just bizarre.” Adham chalked it up to a difference of opinion and the two continued to chat. Eventually Adham sent the user his number so they could message on WhatsApp. Once the conversation moved off-platform, the user revealed his identity to Adham. “That’s when he said he worked with Israeli intelligence,” he said. Using Adham’s number, the user had identified him and began sending him messages with the names and photos of his family members he had found on their Facebook profiles. Adham hadn’t even shared his name with the user, much less anything that could point him to his family members—he’s not out to his family. “I started crying and I didn't know what to do,” Adham said. Adham blocked the profile on Grindr, but soon began receiving SMS messages repeating the same threats. “It was a whole night from 12 to the sunrise,” Adham said. “He kept threatening me, saying he will expose me.” The user told Adham he sought intelligence on Adham’s cousins who, at the time, were in an Israeli prison, awaiting trial on suspicion of their involvement with the al-Qassam brigades, Hamas’s military wing. “He told me that I should go to their homes, search and question their parents and get as much information about them as possible,” Adham recalled. “He said that you can't run away from us. We, you know where you live,” Adham said. “So I just get the SMS card, I throw it, I turned off my phone.” In the morning, he checked his mother’s phone continuously to make sure she hadn’t received any messages. One of his friends had his Grindr chats and images sent to his friends and family after receiving similarly threatening messages from a user who claimed to be an Israeli intelligence official. Drop Site could not verify the messages to Adham came from an intelligence official. But a former official with Unit 8200, Israel’s signals-intelligence agency, confirmed the involvement of Shin Bet, Israel’s internal security agency. The Israel Defense Forces declined to comment.

Tumblr media
It came in an email.
It always did.
Forwarded from your work email to your personal email, then forwarded onto his with several question marks. No phone numbers, no WhatsApp. An occasional GChat if you had trouble compromising over different time zones. But generally, your interactions were limited to a familiar face in an unfamiliar place; not casual conversation during normal, every day life.
You joked once, in an Uber on the way to the airport as you were fixing your disheveled clothes after a quickie before check-out, that you might as well sync your google calendars and that…seemed pretty appealing to him, if only someone else didn’t handle his calendar for him.
“Must be nice,” you joked. “Big important star with an assistant.”
“It’s one of my manager’s assistant,” he argued. “And you have an assistant too.”
“It’s an admin for the department. And they only book the travel. They don’t manage individual calendars. Sorry I’m a peasant dragging my cadaver up the corporate ladder.”
Regardless, he woke up to your email one morning—some remnant of your personality from a former life—at the top of his inbox with the word “London???” above an itinerary for two weeks of franchise meetings and property tours around the city he called home.
His city. No coincidences, no “accidental” run-ins at LAX or JFK that the two of you bent in your favor. You were coming for to him. During a week that he otherwise had no plans.
He acted on impulse. Perhaps a little desperately. Especially considering how little he knew you.
“If you want, you can just stay here. I have plenty of room. You’ll have your space. Pretend it’s a VRBO for the week.”
Realization hit him once he hit send. Dread.
Invite you to stay at his house, a house that he was just settling in to being a home. Where all of his things were, where he had pictures of family and friends.
His house.
Where he was someone and not no one.
He hoped that you would realize the impropriety—as improper as it could be after he’d stuck his cock in you more times than he could count at this point—and be the more level-headed of the two of you, as you usually were, and decline the offer.
It took 48 hours for you to respond.
He thought that meant he was in the clear.
Until your reply blipped in his inbox between emails containing sides for self tapes and negotiations for his next potential public appearance.
“Great, thanks. I won’t take up too much space. I’ll barely be there.”
Followed by the airplane emoji and the sleep emoji.
He got irrationally angry for a moment.
How could you do this? How could you cross this boundary? Partial anonymity…that’s what you both agreed on and here you were…suddenly reneging on that agreement.
Invading his space.
Only you weren’t invading, he invited you in.
Invited you to know Joe a little more than you knew Joseph.
And he could know you too.
He missed getting to know people; he chose not to know people. He knew enough people.
Now he’d get the chance to get to know you.
You’d be here in a week.
Tumblr media
And suddenly you were.
Not an email away. Just there.
You sent him a WhatsApp from the car—a necessity now that you’d be with him for a prolonged time—double checking his street. Then suddenly you were ringing the bell.
He went over the mental to-do list that he’d made ahead of your arrival—schedule planned so he’d be available if you wanted or needed him anything, the cleaning service came through, groceries were delivered, and he’d even got flowers for your room…just a nice little thing he thought of—and then he opened the door.
It had been awkward, the initial greeting.
It wasn’t like your typical hotel room rendezvous. It wasn’t straight to business. You both just stood there staring.
“Consider me a vampire,” you joked, slightly jet lagged and weary since you had gone to meetings straight away after you’d landed. “I need to be invited to come in.”
“Of course,” he stepped to the side to let you in. “Make yourself at home.”
You let him carry your suitcase and shoulder your backpack as he led you straight to the guest room. Then you touched his cheek fondly, thanked him…and promptly shut the door in his face so you could sleep.
Well…he at least thought he was going to get something more than that.
But he didn’t get much more than that. For almost an entire week.
At first it was fine. You were busy, and so was he.
He made (ordered) breakfast for the two of you for the first morning. You grabbed tea and a biscuit (“when in Rome…yes I know…but this was part of the Roman Empire so…No I thought it was funny Joseph ok see you later then”) and ordered an Uber to make it to your first walkthrough of the day. He had a copy of your schedule in his email, made sure to run his errands, make his appointments, and hang out with friends while you were busy so he could be there when it was time for you to return at the end of the day. Only to get another peck on the cheek and be thoroughly ignored as you trudged off to bed.
He felt a little bad. He knew those days where they just never seemed to end; come back to wherever he’d been put up only to check his phone and pass out.
Then he’d hear you around midnight, waking up from a dead sleep and tapping away at your keyboard. Sending communication to your boss or your team or whoever else back home. He didn’t know if you knew he was awake, or if you would venture out of the guest room to find him or get a drink…something. But you never did. Didn’t roam around, didn’t even chat him on WhatsApp; you just clicked away until the clicking stopped and you passed out again.
That’s when he got annoyed.
Because he’d been patient enough; he waited. Waited for something for those first few days. Some kind of sign that you were here with him. He’d sit and watch the telly, pick something from netflix or YouTube, read a book waiting for you to say more than hello to him when he opened the door for you. Have a conversation with him. Something! Sure that wasn’t really how the two of you operated, but even when he still had a roommate and they lived a very separate schedule there was at least a “hey mate, how’d the day go” and it gnawed at his insides that you couldn’t even be bothered.
Who were you? Just some no one, playing at possibly having an executive position one day.
And who was he? He was Joseph Quinn. Eddie fucking Munson, as much as he loathed it. He had people screaming for him, screaming his name. You even screamed his name from time to time.
Just not now.
Was he even going to get to fuck you at the end of this torture? Probably not. You’d be off to Heathrow to catch your flight back home with a simple peck on the cheek and a pat on the head.
“Good boy Joseph, letting me stay in your guest room, thank you for the red carpet treatment.”
So after three days of radio silence, he stopped playing such a gracious host. You insisted that you weren’t even there? He would act like you weren’t.
He stopped living his life around your schedule, left you a spare key so he wouldn’t have to make a fool of himself and open the door for you. Got dinner with his friends, drinks with some people his manager wanted him to meet, all on his own time.
He did exactly what did, he ignored you.
Tumblr media
And that’s what got your attention, or so it seemed.
He saw you “in the wild” a bit more. You and your American lean against the bar at the pub he frequented, wine glass in hand as you chatted with someone in a suit; he decided he’d rather get a beer somewhere else that night. Came home late from a friend’s party on Friday to find you in the kitchen, with a sandwich, going over some contract. You waved at him, maybe a hello or to get him to join you, but he just walked away. Woke up late the next morning to find you actually sitting on his couch with coffee in one hand and phone in another. Your eyes brightened a little when you saw him.
“Morning! I have an appointment at 1, but…dinner?” You asked. “I’m getting so sick of cateri—“
“M’busy,” he cut you off. He didn’t like the way you just nodded, just pressed your lips together accepted it. The way his plans meant nothing. Still, you were out here. Instead of in your room…or just gone.
“Maybe tomorrow night?” He offered, a little more gently.
“Sounds good.” He smiled. “I’ll put it on my calendar.” And the smile went away again, and so did he.
You put him on your calendar like another business appointment; he shouldn’t have felt bad about it, it’s what you always did when you met up in one city or another…but he did. Because this wasn’t “make a run-in happen” this was a meal with the person whose house you were living in for two weeks.
He probably should have asked someone if he was overreacting—probably should have asked you to be honest—but who could he ask? His friends didn’t know about you; they gave him enough shit about his current situation as it was, let alone some American airport fling. Couldn’t exactly tell his manager, they’d have you in to sign an NDA or something; all of the times he planned his travel around “running into you,” he just said it was meeting up with a friend.
So let the feeling stew in his head all day. He came home late again Saturday night to avoid you, and stayed out the entire day Sunday, missing the time you’d made for him on your calendar. Good riddance.
Until he rolled in at 1am, well on his way back to sober after a night out, to find you sitting on his couch, some YouTube chef on the telly, Diet Coke in hand, and his takeaway box of leftovers from dinner the night before on the coffee table.
“That was mine,” he accused. No greeting, just fire as he walked over and looked at the remnants of his gnocchi carbonara.
“It was really tasty,” you nodded.
“I know, because it was mine.” He scoffed and crossed his arm over his chest. “You know if you were really hungry, there’s plenty of other food in the kitchen. Or you could’ve gotten a sausage roll or something. Ever heard of Uber Eats?”
“No I ate your pasta because you told me once that you don’t eat leftovers but you always felt bad that they’d just go in the garbage at the restaurant,” you explained calmly. A little too calmly. “Instead they’d just go in the garbage here. So I enjoyed your scraps, cold, like a peasant, oh King Joseph, most conceited and decadent of all. Because you forgot we had plans for dinner.”
“S’that what we had? Plans?”
“Yeah, I blocked off time for you and everything.”
“Talk about most conceited,” he grabbed the takeaway box and started walking towards the kitchen to dispose of it and this conversation, but you were hot on his heels.
“Excuse me what was that?”
“You heard me, conceited,” he threw the box in the bin and then turned back towards you. “Lemme pencil you in on my calendar, Joe. Dinner, Sunday, 8 o’clock does that work?” He mimed holding a notebook and jotting down the appointment.
“Have you lost your mind? That’s what I need to do if I want ten minutes to myself, let alone a whole dinner. You know I didn’t even put sleep on my calendar for this trip?”
“Lemme not even say good morning because I have a call I need to get on Joe, thanks for the biscuits.”
“Did you miss the entire point of me being in London when I sent you my itinerary? Or did you think this was just me coming to fuck you for two weeks?”
“Maybe not the whole two weeks,” he sneered at you. “But even a how was your day would have been nicer than being treated like the hotel manager.”
“At least the hotel staff cleans shit up,” you scoffed at him. “You know I went out for drinks the other night, went to that pub you told me about, because we finally figured out a contract and I spilled wine on myself. Came back here to throw it in the wash only to find the machine full of dirty clothes. That was really fun to see your stained and faded tighty whiteys at the top of the load. Were you just waiting for the maid service to come back to start the wash for you? You’re so famous now that can’t even hit the damn button yourself?”
The next scathing remark stopped dead on his tongue at that, and then he felt the shame build up.
But only for a moment, because before he knew it, you were crossing the distance and smashing your mouth to his. It was a quick play for control as usual, neither of you caring that you’d just butt heads because the real winner would be whoever could succeed at your little game first; he was in such a mood, such a state, that he actually tried to put up a fight, wanting to get you to cry out for him like he’d been wanting all week. Wanting to be wanted, needed.
He pulled away to remove the bridge from his mouth, mindful of the complaint you’d made about kissing him last time you’d met up, and you did something unexpectedly delicious.
“You rich rat,” you growled at him as you tugged his shirt free of his waistband with one hand and started working his belt loose with the other. “You better be wearing clean underwear right now so help me god.”
And damn if he didn’t get hard just from your words alone.
The aggressive snap of his belt hitting the tile floor also helped.
“They should be,” he grinned cheekily and pulled your sleep shirt over your head. “Agnetha did a load before you got here.”
“You’re pathetic.” You worked the buttons of his shirt as quickly as you could. “How much is this shirt? ’S it dry-clean only? Does she take your dry cleaning in too? Bring it back and make sure it’s folded nicely only for you to shove everything in the drawer anyway. Like the useless boy you are.”
Yeah that was doing it for him.
“She washes the sheets too.” He dropped to his knees before you now as you leant against the counter, fully intent on pleasing you right here in the kitchen. “Changed them right before you got here. Shouldn’t be any more questionable stains.”
“Useless,” you hissed at him but ran a hand softly through his curls as he kissed along your abdomen and peeled your leggings down your legs. “Utterly useless.”
The thing about you though was your self-restraint, your discipline. You didn’t like to lose; you’d deprive yourself of things to get some advantage over your adversaries—usually corporate adversaries—and come out on top. And you made that very well known in the bedroom too when this little game got started. You’d gotten him to cum easily the first time you slept together and then used him to chase your own pleasure, commanding his mouth and tongue here and fingers there.
Just like you were doing now. No moans, just little hitches in your breathing as you steered his head and used the leg you’d thrown over his shoulder to bring him deeper into your center.
When you got close to completion, you used the upper hand again to push him away and you both descended together. His trousers and pants shoved down to his knees with his shirt bunched up under his head so he wouldn’t be sore from smacking it against the tile when you sunk down onto him. And when he felt the delicious squeeze of your cunt, he couldn’t help himself from throwing his head back; good for you to have the foresight.
He had the foresight too though. He knew your moves, they made him see the light of God, seductress that you were. You told him your secret once as you basked in the afterglow when you’d rendered him particularly speechless.
“Spell the word coconut.”
“C-o-c--“
“No, I spell the word coconut. As I’m on top. Read it in a magazine or something during my last layover.”
And he could feel it now, predict it. Feel the motion of your hips, around and around and up and down and squeeze.
He couldn’t tell just by looking at your face, he had to feel it; close his eyes and feel the tempestuous slide of you over him, bringing him higher.
Maybe he would win the game tonight?
He wasn’t one to lose either; he could be competitive just like you. In fact, he was excellent at manipulating a situation in his favor. School, money, life. And with you he’d won enough times to know it could be done. You’d made him feel so…meaningless over the past week—even if he’d misunderstood and overreacted—that a win would be even better than the pleasure itself.
You pried one of his hands off your hip where it was clinging for dear life and directed him to play with your clit so you didn’t have to. For a moment, he lifted his head and watched his own nicotine-stained nails and your prettily manicured ones mingle against the engorged and glistening junction of your sex, and where any other time it would have him groaning at the sight, he couldn’t help but notice how disgusting his hands looked in comparison to your own. For a moment the confidence faltered.
When had he last washed them? Maybe you were right, he was gross and pathetic…
But then you moaned, and from his point of view It looked like it even surprised you even. You stuttered in your pace and your eyes went a little wide.
He felt all the doubt leave him.
He would win tonight…
He took advantage, used his leverage, to turn the tables. To sit upright and guide you to take his spot; you couldn’t even protest before he pistoned into you, before his fingered took an unrelenting pace on your clit.
He could spell coconut too, and he did. He would tell you all about it after his victory. Boast over using your own tricks against you.
You watched him with unblinking eyes as your nails dug into his bicep and shoulder, as you bit your lip so hard he was sure you’d bite right through it, and you kept the little whine that emanated from your throat as soft as you possibly could. Still, he could hear it through the desperate, wet sounds of your fucking.
He closed his eyes and focused on the finish line, focused on keeping the tension of his mounting pleasure back as he could feel you grip tighter and begin to spasm around him. He needed to win, it would be glorious.
“Joe,” you moaned, and he thought it was over. But there, underneath the neediness, lay the condescension, the obvious upper hand. “Can you hurry up? I have a call at 7am”
He came, seconds before you did. Collapsed against you and spilled inside of you before you found your own release.
On his kitchen floor, spent, laughing together, basking in the ridiculous pleasure found in the presence of one another, another game came to an end.
And he might have lost, but in the end, did he really lose?
Tumblr media
Happy Birthday asshole. I'm following you into 30 in 10 months with a vengeance.
No love lost, The better Jo(e) </3

Mercedes Calls In Police Over Anonymous Hamilton F1 Sabotage Email
Mercedes has called in the police over an anonymous email accusing the Formula 1 team of dangerous sabotage of Lewis Hamilton's car
Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has revealed that the police are involved in investigating the source of an anonymous email accusing the team of trying to deliberately sabotage Lewis Hamilton's car. An anonymous email, sent to the same list of F1 and media representatives who were forwarded alleged WhatsApp messages involving Christian Horner earlier this year, said Mercedes was playing a dangerous game. The message claimed to be from a team member and accused Mercedes, and especially Wolff, of "systematic sabotaging" of Hamilton's car, strategy and mental health. It went on to claim that there were "underhand" actions taking place and feared that the squad was on a "dangerous path" that could "ultimately be life-threatening to Lewis." It is also understood that follow-up WhatsApp messages were sent from a mobile phone to selected individuals. Mercedes has dismissed any suggestion that the email has any element of the truth and are clear that the communications have not come from an employee. Speaking at the Spanish Grand Prix, a clearly agitated Wolff said that the police had been called in as he vowed to find the perpetrator. "It's not from a member of the team," said Wolff. "When we are getting these kinds of emails, and we're getting tons of them, it is upsetting, particularly when there is somebody talking about death and all these things. On this particular one, I have instructed to go on full force. We have the police inquiring [about] it. We're researching the IP address. We are researching the phone. All of that because online abuse in that way needs to stop. People can't hide behind their phones or their computers and abuse teams or drivers in a way like this." Wolff said it was inconceivable that Mercedes would deliberately derail its efforts in the constructors' championship by holding back one of its drivers on purpose. "I don't know what some of the conspiracy theorists and lunatics think out there," he added. "Lewis has been part of the team for twelve years. We have a friendship. We trust each other. We want to end this on a high. We want to celebrate the relationship. If you don't believe all of that, then you can believe that we want to win the constructors' world championship, and part of the constructors' world championship is making both cars win. So, to all of these mad people out there, talk to a shrink." Wolff went on to explain that he found it especially frustrating that people were hiding behind anonymous identities to criticise rather than being open about it. "There will always be people that have the laptop on their chest in their bedroom and just typing away," he said. "If people feel like they want to abuse and hit out and hide behind a made-up Instagram account, or anything else that, for me is… come up, say who you are, and we'll take the criticism and discuss. But don't hide." He added: "If emails are being sent or telephone numbers are being used for these messages, then for me the joking stops and we will pursue it, whether that is successful or not. But there are limits to certain things."

Just seeing AI-generated fanfic stories like this is one of my worst nightmares when it comes to writing poetically. Not only writing but even art forms of drawing. This madness wouldn't be stopped at any moment unless we have to do something about it. Writing a fic was never once easy, it all started by developing skills. I never tried making one when I was a kid, I just wrote my diary for the first time and every time I re-read it, there are many emotions, not just happiness and anger.
I decided to enhance my writing skills by creating my first fanfic on Wattpad. People responded positively to it, so I continued to create more. Writing fanfics had been a hobby of mine for a while, and I enjoyed it whether it was through fanfics or roleplaying in books. As time went on, my writing skills improved, and by the time I reached high school, one of my fanfictions on Wattpad became the top number one for the ship name "Abeshiya." That was a long time ago ofc, I posted the unexpected event on WhatsApp, and I never felt this much joy and love for my own fanfic.
Unfortunately for my time in Wattpad, it didn't last forever since I had a major exam for my final year of high school. Once I finish completing Abeshiya one-shots, I say goodbye to my dedicated fic and move on with new project fics. I had been there for 7 years; I used to be motivated, but now... Everything changed. I found out about AO3 when I turned 15 years old; I was new to the archive, so I surfed there as an anonymous user. But I wasn't into it, thanks to the complicated system of the site, so I went back to Wattpad for comfort.
Everyone in Wattpad was kind ofc, the majority of them were the same age as me and probably older. I never had any enemies there in the first place. We even talked a lot in the comments section, it was still fun before Wattpad became the horrible app just because there were kids everywhere (I preferred it when everything was not restrictive). Sadly, Wattpad already enforced their strict new family-friendly rules so I immediately left since abeshiya fic is not completely family-friendly at all (knowing my coping mechanism is also dark, so I blame my parents for being neglectful to me)
Right when the Wattpad changed entirely, I then moved to AO3 again, wanting to write more fanfics and probably put my old works in there. Remember when I said the system was complicated? I didn't become an idiot so I adjusted myself to being there temporarily, reading old fics and creating my acc just to make a collection of bookmarks. After two years of surfing and learning how the complicated AO3 system works, I got used to it and I finally wrote my first fic there, too impatient fic. It has yandere and questionable tags, I make sure I read the archive warning carefully so I selected it as an explicit (and maybe dead dove as well, although it wasn't extreme however I stated that the mc was sexually assaulted to the point of passing out from the abuse and the desire to not let anyone get hurt because his mom died in a accident)
That was just the beginning, I never expected my abeshiya fic to also have dd:dne element, with just a simple "buried alive" fic. I wasn't aware of it, my fic inspiration was from Dolls Fall manga which is the same mangaka of Corpse Party so technically dd:dne was new to me lmao- Back then, I felt bad for my wattpad fans who read my abeshiya fic religiously. So I went back to my "buried alive" abeshiya fic but turns out it wasn't descriptive or detailed-ish, I was worried for nothing. At that time, I wasn't a Wattpad writer anymore, I was already a dark web writer who unpredictably wrote dark fics without comfort which to my surprise I was not aware of it as well
This was my history of learning how to be a writer better, I just wanted to tell my story since writing is one of the most rewarding despite the hardships from the start. Seeing that there are people taking advantage of writing fanfics by using AI is just horrendous. That's not even known as skill-developing, that is called a copycat, with no talent or skills whatsoever. Gaining skills is indeed difficult; there is no such as perfection, whether you like it or not.
Besides, my English wasn't better either, my language ability was limited when I was a kid, and I was scared to lose my native tongue language just to speak it excellently. It's not really fear-based but quite about being forced to talk in the native language due to the majority of my generation being ignorant and throwing aside the real identity of their home country background. That is if you travel to East Malaysia, only the younger generation can speak English very well than me 💀
The extinct language I'm talking about is kadazandusun, an Indigenous tribe language only in East Malaysia. Some of the language systems are a bit similar to Tagalog though and I'm bilingual because I speak both kadazandusun and malay (not exactly kadazan, since I never pronounce V's when I talk to my family at all so it's mostly dusun when I'm communicating lol)
"This fic was ai generated—" Cool, so lemme block you real quick

On Personal InfoSec
Been awhile since I've had one of these posts but I figure with all that's going on in the world it's time to make another one of these posts and get some stuff out there for people. A lot of the information I'm going to go over you can find here:
So if you'd like to just click the link and ignore the rest of the post that's fine, I strongly recommend checking out the Privacy Guides.
Browsers:
There's a number to go with but for this post going forward I'm going to recommend Firefox. I know that the Privacy Guides lists Brave and Safari as possible options but Brave is Chrome based now and Safari has ties to Apple. Mullvad is also an option but that's for your more experienced users so I'll leave that up to them to work out.
Browser Extensions:
uBlock Origin: content blocker that blocks ads, trackers, and fingerprinting scripts. Notable for being the only ad blocker that still works on Youtube.
Privacy Badger: Content blocker that specifically blocks trackers and fingerprinting scripts. This one will catch things that uBlock doesn't catch but does not work for ads.
Facebook Container: "but I don't have facebook" you might say. Doesn't matter, Meta/Facebook still has trackers out there in EVERYTHING and this containerizes them off away from everything else.
Bitwarden: Password vaulting software, don't trust the password saving features of your browsers, this has multiple layers of security to prevent your passwords from being stolen.
ClearURLs: Allows you to copy and paste URL's without any trackers attached to them.
VPN:
Note: VPN software doesn't make you anonymous, no matter what your favorite youtuber tells you, but it does make it harder for your data to be tracked and it makes it less open for whatever network you're presently connected to.
Mozilla VPN: If you get the annual subscription it's ~$60/year and it comes with an extension that you can install into Firefox.
Proton VPN: Has easily the most amount of countries serviced, can take cash payments, and does offer port forwarding.
Email Provider:
Note: By now you've probably realized that Gmail, Outlook, and basically all of the major "free" e-mail service providers are scraping your e-mail data to use for ad data. There are more secure services that can get you away from that but if you'd like the same storage levels you have on Gmail/Outlook.com you'll need to pay.
Proton Mail: Secure, end-to-end encrypted, and fairly easy to setup and use. Offers a free option up to 1gb
Tuta: Secure, end-to-end encrypted, been around a very long time, and offers a free option up to 1gb.
Email Client:
Thunderbird if you're on Windows or Linux
Apple Mail if you're on macOS
Cloud Storage:
Proton Drive: Encrypted cloud storage from the same people as Proton Mail.
Tresorit: Encrypted cloud storage owned by the national postal service of Switzerland. Received MULTIPLE awards for their security stats.
Peergos: decentralized and open-source, allows for you to set up your own cloud storage, but will require a certain level of expertise.
Microsoft Office Replacements:
LibreOffice: free and open-source, updates regularly, and has the majority of the same functions as base level Microsoft Office.
OnlyOffice: cloud-based, free, and open source.
Chat Clients:
Note: As you've heard SMS and even WhatsApp and some other popular chat clients are basically open season right now. These are a couple of options to replace those.
Signal: Provides IM and calling securely and encrypted, has multiple layers of data hardening to prevent intrusion and exfil of data.
Molly (Android OS only): Alternative client to Signal. Routes communications through the TOR Network.
Briar: Encrypted IM client that connects to other clients through the TOR Network, can also chat via wifi or bluetooth.
Now for the last bit, I know that the majority of people are on Windows or macOS, but if you can get on Linux I would strongly recommend it. pop_OS, Ubuntu, and Mint are super easy distros to use and install. They all have very easy to follow instructions on how to install them on your PC and if you'd like to just test them out all you need is a thumb drive to boot off of to run in demo mode.
If you game through Steam their Proton emulator in compatibility mode works wonders, I'm presently playing a major studio game that released in 2024 with no Linux support on it and once I got my drivers installed it's looked great. There are some learning curves to get around, but the benefit of the Linux community is that there's always people out there willing to help.
I hope some of this information helps you and look out for yourself, it's starting to look scarier than normal out there.

‘Death trap’ Channel boats traded by smugglers in German city - BBC undercover... (PART 1)
Tumblr media
It costs €15,000 (£12,500) for the whole “package”, we are told. For that we would be given an inflatable dinghy, with an outboard motor and 60 life jackets, to get across the English Channel.
This is the “good price” offered by two small-boat smugglers to an undercover BBC journalist in Essen - a western German city where many migrants live or pass through.
A five-month-long BBC investigation has exposed the significant German connection to the lethal human smuggling trade across the English Channel.
As the new UK government promises to “smash the gangs”, Germany has become a central location for the storage of boats and engines eventually used in Channel crossings - confirmed to the BBC by Britain’s National Crime Agency.
During covert filming, smugglers revealed to us that they store boats in multiple secret warehouses - as they play cat-and-mouse games with German police.
This year is already the deadliest for migrant Channel crossings, UN figures show, while more than 28,000 people have so far made the journey in small, dangerously packed boats.
__
Our undercover reporter is waiting outside the central station in the city of Essen.
He is wearing a secret camera and posing as a Middle Eastern migrant, eager to cross the Channel to the UK with his family and friends.
He must remain anonymous, for his safety, but we will refer to him as Hamza.
He approaches a man. It is someone Hamza has been in touch with for months, via WhatsApp calls, after getting his number through a contact within the migrant community - but this is the first time they have met.
This man’s name – or at least the name he has given us – is Abu Sahar.

Can someone really give up on love for no reason at all? There was a time when I just wanted to be bold. I had always been logical and cautious, even a bit cowardly. I met new friends and decided to take a risk. Looking back, it’s funny how naive I was. My idea of risk-taking was falling in love for the first time at the age of 22—a simple, everyday thing for a teenage girl, but to me, it felt like a wild adventure.
One day, I went to a café in my city with my new friends. The moment I walked in, my eyes met his, and from that instant, I couldn’t stop thinking about him. I’m not sure if it was real attraction or just the thrill of this new experience. He was the kind of guy every girl would dream of—handsome, and all the girls were staring at him. The waiter, Mr. “A,” had this undeniable charisma: tall, athletic, with sleek hair, dark features, and intense, serious eyes. He seemed strict and a bit temperamental—that’s the impression I had.
My friends were incredibly supportive. For the first time, I felt what it was like to have people backing me as I navigated love. They encouraged me to do what I wanted without overthinking whether it was right or wrong. It was the first time in my life I felt truly happy and alive, free from fear and anxiety.
I started visiting the café with my friends more frequently, just to see him. One day, when he wasn’t there, my friend urged me to take action. She said I needed to find out if he had a girlfriend or fiancée before I fell deeper for him or risked losing him without knowing. She suggested getting his phone number from one of his colleagues. I agreed, and she did it. When she handed me his number, I became obsessed. I would check his profile picture over and over and feel thrilled whenever I saw him online on WhatsApp. Months went by like this. I continued going to the café with my friends almost every day, hoping to see him. They would tell me he seemed interested, as he often glanced my way. Their words filled me with joy.
One day, my friend told me she saw him watching me as I left the café. That moment, I began to believe he might actually have feelings for me. Another time, I saw him at the café when he was sick. I wanted so badly to wish him well, but I was too shy. So, I went home, still thinking about him, and decided to message him anonymously. I told him I admired him and just wanted to know if he was in a relationship, asking him not to question who I was. He refused to answer until he knew who I was. I wished him a quick recovery, and he asked how I knew he was sick. I told him I had seen him at the café, admitting that I’d been going there often just to see him. A few days later, he confessed he wasn’t in a relationship, and we started talking—without me revealing my true identity.
He kept asking to meet me, but I hesitated, wanting to wait until I was sure he had feelings for me. I noticed he would look at me more often when I was at the café, so I decided to pretend I was jealous of how much he stared at me. I’d make self-critical comments, and he would rush to defend me, haha. By then, I was convinced he liked me, so I let him figure out my identity on his own. When he finally did, he was thrilled to discover it was me who had been messaging him, and I was just as happy to be the one he had feelings for... (to be continued)

VPN encryption strength
VPN encryption strength is a crucial factor to consider when choosing a Virtual Private Network (VPN) service. Encryption is the process of converting data into a code to prevent unauthorized access. In the context of VPNs, encryption ensures that your internet traffic remains secure and private as it travels between your device and the VPN server.
The strength of VPN encryption is typically measured in bits, with higher numbers indicating stronger encryption. Common encryption protocols used by VPNs include AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) and RSA (Rivest-Shamir-Adleman). AES is widely regarded as the most secure encryption standard and is available in different key lengths, such as AES-128, AES-192, and AES-256. Among these, AES-256 is considered the strongest, with a key length of 256 bits, making it extremely difficult for unauthorized parties to decrypt.
Another important aspect of VPN encryption strength is the handshake protocol used to establish a secure connection between your device and the VPN server. Protocols like OpenVPN and IKEv2/IPSec are known for their robust handshake mechanisms, which further enhance the security of the connection.
When evaluating VPN providers, it's essential to consider their encryption standards and protocols to ensure your data remains protected. Opting for a VPN service that utilizes AES-256 encryption and secure handshake protocols will offer the highest level of security for your online activities.
In summary, VPN encryption strength plays a vital role in safeguarding your privacy and security while browsing the internet. By choosing a VPN service with strong encryption standards and protocols, you can enjoy peace of mind knowing that your data is secure from prying eyes.
NSA surveillance evasion
Title: Navigating NSA Surveillance: Strategies for Evasion
In an age where digital privacy is increasingly under threat, evading surveillance has become a pressing concern for many individuals and organizations. The National Security Agency (NSA) is renowned for its extensive surveillance programs, which have sparked debates about civil liberties and government overreach. To counteract this surveillance, individuals and groups employ various strategies to safeguard their privacy and evade detection.
One common tactic is encryption. Encrypting communications and data renders them unreadable to anyone without the decryption key, effectively thwarting NSA surveillance efforts. End-to-end encryption tools like Signal and WhatsApp have gained popularity for their ability to secure messages from prying eyes, including those of government agencies.
Another method is the use of virtual private networks (VPNs). By routing internet traffic through encrypted tunnels, VPNs conceal users' IP addresses and browsing activities, making it difficult for the NSA to track their online movements. Additionally, employing anonymity networks such as Tor can further enhance privacy by obscuring the origin and destination of internet traffic.
For those concerned about metadata collection, employing techniques to minimize digital footprints is crucial. This includes using privacy-focused search engines like DuckDuckGo, which do not track users' search history or personal information. Additionally, regularly clearing browsing history, cookies, and cache can help mitigate the risk of surveillance.
Furthermore, adopting secure communication practices such as avoiding unencrypted email and utilizing secure messaging platforms can help mitigate the risk of interception by the NSA.
While evading NSA surveillance may seem like a daunting task, implementing these strategies can significantly enhance digital privacy and protect against unwarranted intrusion. By staying informed and proactive, individuals and organizations can reclaim control over their online activities and uphold the fundamental right to privacy in an increasingly surveilled world.
Reddit privacy concerns
Reddit, being one of the largest online communities, has been at the center of various privacy concerns over the years. As users engage in discussions, share content, and interact with one another on the platform, questions regarding data privacy and security have emerged.
One of the key privacy concerns on Reddit is related to user anonymity. While Reddit allows users to create anonymous accounts using pseudonyms, there have been instances where user identities have been compromised through various means. This raises questions about the platform's ability to protect user data and ensure anonymity.
Another major issue is the collection and use of personal data for targeted advertising. Reddit tracks user behavior, preferences, and interactions to serve personalized ads, which has sparked debates over user privacy and data exploitation. Users often express concerns about the transparency of data collection practices and the extent to which their information is shared with third parties.
Moreover, the potential for data breaches and hacking poses a significant threat to user privacy on Reddit. As seen in other social media platforms, Reddit is not immune to security vulnerabilities that could result in unauthorized access to user accounts and personal information.
To address these privacy concerns, Reddit has made efforts to enhance its privacy policies, provide users with more control over their data, and increase transparency regarding data practices. However, users are advised to exercise caution when sharing personal information online and take necessary precautions to protect their privacy while using the platform.
VPN logging policies
Title: Understanding VPN Logging Policies: What You Need to Know
In the realm of cybersecurity, VPNs (Virtual Private Networks) serve as a crucial tool for safeguarding online privacy and security. They encrypt internet traffic, ensuring anonymity and protecting sensitive data from prying eyes. However, not all VPNs are created equal, especially when it comes to their logging policies.
VPN logging policies refer to the practices followed by VPN providers regarding the collection and retention of user data. Essentially, these policies dictate whether a VPN keeps logs of users' online activities, connections, or other identifying information. Understanding these policies is paramount for users seeking to maintain their privacy online.
There are generally three types of logging policies that VPN providers adhere to:
No-logs policy: VPNs with a strict no-logs policy refrain from collecting any user data whatsoever. This means they do not retain information about users' browsing history, IP addresses, timestamps, or any other identifiable data. This policy offers the highest level of privacy and is favored by users concerned about their online anonymity.
Minimal logs policy: Some VPNs may collect minimal logs for operational purposes, such as troubleshooting technical issues or optimizing server performance. However, they do not retain any personally identifiable information or browsing history. While not as privacy-oriented as a strict no-logs policy, minimal logs policies still offer a reasonable level of anonymity.
Logs policy: VPNs with logs policies retain extensive records of users' online activities, including IP addresses, timestamps, and browsing history. While these logs may be used for various purposes, such as improving services or complying with legal requirements, they also pose significant privacy risks to users.
Before choosing a VPN provider, it's essential to carefully review their logging policy to ensure it aligns with your privacy preferences and security needs. Opting for a VPN with a strict no-logs policy can offer peace of mind knowing that your online activities remain private and secure.
Anonymity risks with VPNs
In the digital age, where privacy concerns loom large, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) have emerged as a popular tool for safeguarding online anonymity. However, while VPNs offer a layer of protection, they are not without their own set of risks.
One of the primary anonymity risks associated with VPNs is the false sense of security they may provide. Users often believe that once connected to a VPN, their online activities are completely shielded from prying eyes. However, this is not always the case. VPN providers can still potentially track and monitor user data, especially if they keep logs of user activity.
Moreover, not all VPN providers are created equal. Some may claim to offer strict no-logs policies, but in reality, they may still collect and sell user data to third parties. This puts users at risk of having their sensitive information compromised.
Another anonymity risk with VPNs is the potential for data leaks. While VPNs encrypt internet traffic, vulnerabilities in the VPN software or configuration errors can result in leaks of IP addresses or DNS queries. This could expose users' true identities and undermine the very purpose of using a VPN.
Additionally, VPNs can sometimes be used as a tool for malicious activities. Cybercriminals may exploit VPNs to hide their online activities while carrying out attacks such as phishing scams or distributing malware.
In conclusion, while VPNs offer a layer of anonymity and security, users must be aware of the risks involved. It's essential to choose a reputable VPN provider with strong privacy protections and regularly monitor for any signs of data leaks or suspicious activity. Ultimately, maintaining online anonymity requires a combination of vigilance and informed decision-making.

What is the best application to make free video calls from Oman to India?
Video calling is an extraordinary method for keeping in contact with friends and family, yet it tends to be a piece challenging to manage without a VPN. Oman is a country that has a lot of restrictions on internet usage, so a VPN is essential for anyone who wants to video call in Oman. There are a few things to keep in mind when choosing a VPN for Oman, but with a little research, it should be easy to find a service that will work well.
There is no need to use a VPN in Oman because toTok allows you to make free video calls. This application permits you to make high-quality video calls, which you can get from the Play Store or the Application Store. There have been several changes to the ban on Skype and a number of internet phone services. Skype, WhatsApp, and Telegram are only a couple of VoIP services that are blocked in Oman by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA). You cannot send messages from WhatsApp via video, but you can send messages via text. Due to the dangers associated with this device, it is not suitable for use with Facetime in the United States or Europe.
I use whatsapp or imob to make video calls with Oman friends. The package is good. Itmo has no issues and is fully functional. There is a blocking process in place for WhatsApp video and calls, and users are using VPN to avoid it.
Can You Video Call In Oman?
Because FaceTime and other video-calling services are encrypted, it is difficult to track, Oman is notorious for blocking them. Moreover, those services contend with homegrown telecom suppliers. The restrictions are rarely broken, as some encrypted chat apps do on occasion.

Is Whatsapp Allowed In Oman 2024?
WhatsApp is not currently allowed in Oman, but there is a possibility that this may change in 2022. The Omani government has been cracking down on the use of social media and messaging apps in recent years, but it is possible that they may relax these restrictions in the future. If you are planning to visit Oman, it is fitting to check the most recent data on the status with WhatsApp before you travel.
In Oman, internet and free sound/video calls have been blocked on WhatsApp and other free internet applications. VPNs (Virtual Private Networks), on the other hand, allow you to use WhatsApp video calling. Skype, Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Google Meet, and Zoom have all been temporarily removed from Omani networks. You can be anonymous and secure online with the assistance of a VPN. In the Center East, VPN for Facetime is the most generally utilized and simple to utilize method of connecting with the Internet. The death of Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al-Saud gave rise to Haitham bin Tariq as the new sultan of Oman. Oman has a number of licensed alcohol stores that sell liquor, as well as hotels and bars.

Cyberbullying and Mental Health: Protecting Loved Ones in the Digital Age
Tumblr media
Today, we are living in a highly driven digital world where technology and social media go hand-in-hand. The age group that is highly influenced by social media today is the young children. These social media platforms are a great way to connect with friends and family but also have certain drawbacks. The most troublesome thing about social media is the anonymity it gives to people who have bad intentions.
Cyberbullying has become an everyday activity for these people who are active on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and more. They are well aware that children are fond of these apps and they are the ones who spend most of their time scrolling through them. It is easier for the cyberbullies to target young kids so that they can scam them by hacking their phones and looting their money.
We understand that anyone can be a victim of such an act but kids especially can be the easy targets, that’s why it is important that you as a parent keep them safe against any such situation as this can have serious consequences on their mental health.
Cyberbullying & kids
Cyberbullying is the new-age and electronic way to bully or harass others. There is no concrete reason as to why they do so. They can think of it as a fun activity, or to hack other people’s accounts, or their phones to take out their money. Cyberbullying can happen anytime and from anywhere. Sometimes, the bully simply wants to spread rumors, post hateful things just to play with a person’s emotions and god forbid if it is kids who are at the receiving end then things can get even worse.
There is significantly no escape from it when we talk about cyberbullying because once the information is in public domain then it has the tendency to reach masses at once and this can trigger a child’s emotional and mental health. To avoid any such situation, using hidden spy apps in the digital age can be helpful. These apps give parents the freedom to know what their child is up to and if they need their attention and guidance.
Prevent cyberbullying with spy apps
We know that you must be aware of the importance of communication with your loved ones when you want to ensure that they are safe and everything is going on fine in their life and having open communication gives more clarity and creates more room for a safe space where you can comfortably share your thoughts and views with each other. You may not be aware but you can definitely prevent cyberbullying with spy apps. These apps come loaded with a lot of features that can add value to the way you raise your children. You can spy and keep track of everything that they do that too remotely and keep them safe against all types of online threats. The features of a phone spy app are so useful that in some cases, you can benefit from them in the real world as well.
The hidden spy apps come with features like hidden call recorder, WhatsApp spy, social media monitoring and much more. The hidden call recorder lets you to listen to your child’s phone conversations remotely. The recordings are saved on the server from where you can access them and if you think that any specific person is being a threat to your child then you can block their number and report about them to the legal authorities too with proof.
Similarly, WhatsApp spy is another useful feature with the help of which you can read your child’s chats, you can view the media that they send and receive, the links and documents they exchange with their contacts. All this information can play a vital role in understanding the pattern and behavior of your child’s online activity. They may not realize but what information they share with others can impact their overall wellbeing.
Another important feature is social media monitoring. We all know how important Facebook, Instagram and similar apps are for today’s kids. By using a mobile spy app, you can track every activity they perform on these apps and see if they need your attention. No matter even if they have a private account, with a social media spy app, you can know about everything they do on their profile and the people and the type of content they engage with.
One of the most crucial features that every parent looks for before signing up to a spy app is the location tracker. The live-location tracker can let you know where your child is and that’s why it is important to sign up to a good spy app so that you can get accurate and real time information.
In The End
Cyberbullying is a serious issue and it can have a very strong impact on young minds. Technology will always continue to be evolving but it is crucial that as parents and as responsible adults, you lead them by setting the right examples. Additionally, by creating a supportive and open environment for your children, you can protect them and also help them overcome any situation that seems to be difficult to move on from.
Spy apps are a valuable tool and by choosing the right spy app, you can ease the way you raise your children. Onemonitar is a great android spy app and offers more than 60 features. All these features are essential when we talk about digital parenting and can help in maintaining a healthy mental health state for kids as well as parents.
If you need to enquire more about the features, plans, performance of Onemonitar, you can check out their website where you will find all the features, package details, performance and the ways to connect with the spy app’s support team.
Well, whatever way you choose to monitor your loved ones, make sure it is reliable and accurate as this will play a crucial role in maintaining the privacy and sanity of the people you care about.

However, we know that it is still being determined that all the emails will land in your inbox only. They might be directed to the spam of the receiver. So, total dependency on this could be better.

Store manager asked me where my Hijab was when he noticed my surname on my resume via /r/atheism
Store manager asked me where my Hijab was when he noticed my surname on my resume I moved to Toronto two weeks ago for college. I'm an international student and I have been applying for part time jobs. I dropped my resume at a small shop that sells Kebab and the store manager with a skullcap on went through the resume and asked me " hey you are a Muslim where is your Hijab". I couldn't reply anything back to him except tell him that I wasn't that religious. He went on to give me a free lecture about Islam and how women are well-protected in our community and even asked whether he should add my number to a Muslims Whatsapp group based in Toronto. He further declined my resume saying that his shop is only meant for people who believe in the word "Halaal" and he could hire me only if I'm a believer. Edit : I don't think I have the time, energy and financial freedom to legally fight this. I'm an international student in Canada and I don't want to get involved with laws from a country that I'm unfamiliar with. I think it's far better off if I focus on my studies and finding a part time job asap so I could make enough to pay for my next semester and my basic needs ( if any of you are from downtown Toronto or Scarborough and have leads for part time jobs or can refer me for jobs please do let me know in the DM😭 I can send you my resume. I'm allowed to work for 20 hours a week as per canadian law. I can do nightshifts too). It was an awful experience indeed. I left my homecountry for Canada so I'd feel safe as a woman living on my own without being scared of getting lynched to death for not wearing a Hijab but I had to go through a horrible one hour lecture about why I'm going to hell, from my own people. I'd like to name and shame them but I'd rather not get in trouble at this point as I just came here and I'm trying to get settled. I'd report them anonymously if there is an option though. I want to save myself. Submitted September 27, 2023 at 06:44PM by hbsk8156 (From Reddit https://ift.tt/XtSFGV7)

Unanswered texts
Your chat is now like 3 swipes below…reminding me of how the connection is slowly getting lost. Reminding me how you do not text back to me.
I scroll down to find it. Look for some peace from when you did answer me and remember how it felt to have a conversation with you, even if you didn’t say much or it didn´t last long.
I look for your voice notes to remember your voice. Try to feel you near. Pretend you are there with me and you are talking to me.
But this time when I scrolled down, I saw the profile image blank and anonymous, I felt my whole body flinch and I took a fast inhale through my mouth. I was shocked….did you change your number? Did you block me? How can I know if someone blocked you from WhatsApp? Was it just because you are now on the other side of the world? Could you have changed phone numbers without telling me? Why is this hurting so much?…
I see all the messages I have sent you that have no reply and I get it. It hurts because I still had some hope that these messages would get an answer from you. And now they are always going to be unanswered. Remain rejected and forgotten.
I feel that horrible empty stomach kind of thing. That void of having feeling too much for someone that probably didn’t give a shit about me. Having suffocated someone and drove them off. All these messages will just remain as proof of how naive I was to keep on giving more to you and to keep hoping and being blind. Was I really being blind? Or Did you mean it when you said to me the last time that we were together “I want you to understand that this has nothing to do with you, it’s all me being stupid, immature and not being able to be there for you. It really has nothing to do with you”
