Stepping Up Your Game: Exploring the World of Adidas Shoes
In terms of athletic footwear, Adidas is one of the brands that have been the tops in the world and have gained the same level of high quality international recognition. Over the years, Adidas Shoes has made a name for itself in the sports market through a rich heritage in innovation, style, and performance, resulting in its shoes becoming a must-have in every athlete’s closet and sneaker addict alike. It is evident that the famous three-striped logo, along with the breakthrough technologies that Adidas pioneered, make very few boundaries that can be broken in footwear.
A Legacy of Innovation
Started in 1949 by the German shoemaker Adolf Dassler, still today the seventy-three years old company is recognized for constant innovations. Dassler already knew, by the time he started, how to create shoes that would boost sportsmen's performance and help them deliver their very best, as he had been both a sportsman and a craftsman himself.
Adidas' first great advance came in 1954 with Dassler introducing a shoe with screw-in stud, which allowed soccer players to maintain their traction and stability more effectively during the games. Adidas made a historical breakthrough that year, which became a change in the game and promoted the company as a pioneer in the field of sports shoes.
Iconic Design, Timeless Style
Beyond the progressive use of technical features, Adidas is also widely renowned for its innovative design style, which is now viewed as an important component for street style and urban culture. The brand's famous three-stripe logo, being a symbol of quality, authenticity, and innovation, is recognized worldwide and is a sign of the brand distinction.
From original pieces like the Stan Smith and Superstar silhouettes to the modern NMD and Ultra Boosts, the Adidas shoe line fluidly combines performance and style into a perfect pair for athletes, fashion lovers, and sneakerheads. With regard to any type of workout, be it weight lifting, interval training, or, simply, walking the dog, Adidas has the sneaker for any case and any personality. Innovative Technologies
At the base of the Adidas success is its mission for innovation and technology progression. Brand stands out from others by continuously pushing the boundaries of shoe design and adopting latest materials and crafting technologies to enhance the performance and comfort.
The most remarkable technology is the Boost cushioning which was introduced in 2013 and within a short time transformed the industry. Boost foam comes from thousands of TPU pellets that further shape the foam into a cushioned structure, which gives the amazing benefits of high energy return and responsiveness, that enable runners to safely go faster with less effort.
Furthermore, Boost is not the only advanced technology of Adidas Rebound. Other Adidas technologies, such as Primeknit for breathable and lightweight uppers, and Torsion for stability and flexibility, are also available. These inventions are meant to form shoes that not only elegantly look but also work efficiently.
Conclusion
From the soccer pitch to the city streets, Adidas shoes have stamped a historic impression on the sector of sport shoes. The brand, known for its innovation, fashion, and performance, has gone beyond the limit of what can be done, and in the process, they have inspired athletes and sports enthusiasts alike to raise the bar as they chase their dreams.
It doesn't matter whether you are a professional athlete on your way to the pinnacle of success or a fan of tailored shoes who wants to stand out from the crowd, Adidas has the right pair for each sport, personality, and style. With the irrefutable devotion to quality and excitement of innovation, Adidas shoes are designed to equip you for the peak of your performance and make you look stunning.

Fieldwork #1: Making Yeezy’s Familiar
Yeezys are Kanye West Design of shoes produced though Adidas. Yeezys are manufactured in china under Adidas. They come in sneakers, slides , foam runners, boots, hoodies , and coats. I purchased the Yeezy slides (left tan) from DTLR (Downtown Locker-Room) They were 75$ plus tax i luckily caught them when they were released at retail. I purchased the Yeezy boots (middle tan) from GOAT (online shoe reseller) they were 500$ they were completely sold out everywhere so the only way to purchase was through a resale source. I purchased the Yeezy Foam-runner’s (right tan) They were 300$ i purchased them from GOAT as well. Combining all of the seven styles their 280k pairs of real Yeezys in the world . The annual revenue in 2020 was $1.7 billion dollars. The retail for the shoes are 75$ and the retail price is about 2 or 3 times the retail price depending on your shoe size, i wear a 12-13 thats why they are so expensive. The shoes come from they come from a factory , they are mass produced and the workers make under 5$ an hours so they are over worked and underpaid.
History of Yeezy’s
Yeezy was founded by Kanye West in 2009 ( with Adidas) , Kanye 1st entered the design industry in 2006 he had some unreleased designs , everything he posted only he had them so it was only 1 of 1 pieces. Everyone who was interested in having them could only see him with them there was no way of purchasing them. In 2009 The Yeezy brand / company initially collaborated with Nike he stated with nike for 4 years . Kanye claimed that nike was not paying him enough. He called them out during a concert stating that “ nike treats employees just like slaves”
After a five year collaboration with nike , Kanye started up with Adidas with the released of the Yeezy 1 and 2 9,000 pairs sold out within 10 minutes. They have always been a shoe that was hard to come by especially at retail pricing , you would have to purchase the shoe for about 2/3 times the amount of the shoes.
Yeezys are made in china but in 2023 Kanye had ended with adidas and is trying to start creation of his brand here in the United States.
I am what my generation would call a " Sneaker-Head" , i have a different type of style i wear things the normal person would not , i go out my way to go against the normality of male dressing and also bigger male dressing. So Yeezys fit the description very well , they are different , they are weird , so they caught my eye. So only impact i would say they have on my life are they are comfortable and i like them, thats really it they don't have any drastic life changing effect other than for style and comfortablility.
Kanye , Adidas , and the Chinese labor factory's . They have been investigated from a U.S based China Labor Watch . It has been pointed out that the workers may be earning more than minimum wage , their monthly pay of 147 pounds, or $184, is less than a pair of Yeezy Boost sneakers cost 150 pounds or $187 at current exchange. Employees are forced to work overtime in order to make ends meet . on average clocking 10 hour shifts six days a week , and they must arrive 15 mins early . After being exposed Adidas said it is “fully committed to protecting worker rights and to ensuring fair and safe working conditions in factories throughout our global supply chain.” Then The German company also clarified that take-home wage consists of the monthly wage plus benefits such as performance bonuses, meal allowance, living allowance and seniority bonus. so life has improved for them than the last couple years , but things could still get better.

Sympatex, a German footwear and apparel brand, has been making headlines in recent months due to its ruthlessly efficient business practices. Sympatex has been known to take extreme measures to cut costs, putting the environment and its employees’ well-being at risk. While Sympatex’s actions may be publically frowned upon, the company is staying true to its core mission — to create high-quality, affordable products for its customers.
Sympatex produces its own footwear and clothing lines, using a patented waterproof and breathable membrane called Sympatex that is made primarily from recycled plastic bottles. The company has been accused of not adequately protecting the environment or its workers when producing this membrane, instead opting to put profits over people.
Sympatex has been particularly harsh in its efforts to cut costs, doing whatever it can to save money. In 2016, the company was fined €2.2 million for dumping toxic chemicals into wastewater, endangering nearby ecosystems. Adding to its controversial practices, Sympatex has also been known to make its workers work long hours in unsafe conditions for minimal pay.
Despite its questionable practices, Sympatex is still succeeding in its goal to make affordable, quality products. Its products have been praised for being stylish and long-lasting, making them an attractive option for customers who want quality but don’t want to pay luxury prices.
For now, Sympatex’s business practices remain largely unchanged. While many people find these practices to be controversial, it is clear that Sympatex isn’t going to change its ways anytime soon. Regardless, the company continues to be successful, demonstrating that sometimes ruthlessness is necessary in order to stay afloat and achieve success.

Adidas decision to remove images of model Bella Hadid from its adverts sparked public outrage
German sportswear giant Adidas is facing backlash and growing calls for a boycott after American-Palestinian model Bella Hadid was removed from a recent advertising campaign.
Following criticism from Israel, Adidas removed Hadid, who has long spoken out about Palestinian rights, from a retro footwear campaign referencing the 1972 Munich Olympics.
On Sunday, the brand apologised for “any upset or distress caused” by its ad campaign. Following the company’s decision, social media users rallied to Hadid’s defence, calling for a boycott of Adidas products.
Bella Hadid is a hero! Hope @adidas will suffer from boycotting.
“Sorry guys, not buying Adidas because of their gutless treatment of Bella Hadid.”
After the Bella Hadid case, we will say bye @adidas. Those who encourage genocide criminals shouldn’t get any coin from our money won honestly.

Adidas plots to swerve sales
Looking to bounce back after ending relationship with rapper Kanye West
As Adidas aims to build on hot demand for its threestriped white and black Samba and multicolored Gazelle sneakers, it’s also taking steps to prevent the shoes from becoming victims of their own success.
The German sportswear giant ramped up production of the sneakers, known as “terrace shoes” and inspired by soccer fans’ footwear in the 1970s and ’80s.
Sales subsequently jumped from a couple of hundred thousand pairs a month at the start of last year to millions of pairs a month, according to CEO Bjorn Gulden, with Adidas now looking to further increase its popularity.
The company said terrace shoe sales helped drive its strong performance in the first quarter, without giving detailed figures for the Samba, Gazelle and Spezial.
The shoes are priced at around $90 and up, with limited edition collaborations costing up to $350.
Investors and analysts are watching closely for signs of Adidas becoming overly reliant on the shoes, with the abrupt ending of the highly profitable Yeezy business still fresh in their memories.
Adidas suffered a loss last year for the first time in 30 years after its break-up with U.S. rapper and producer Kanye West brought that trendy sneaker line to an end.
The Adidas Samba won Footwear News’ 2023 “Shoe of the Year” award, the first win for the brand since the Yeezy Boost 350 in 2015.
Bernstein analyst Aneesha Sherman estimates the terrace shoes will drive $1.61 billion of sales this year, around 7% of Adidas’ overall revenue and close to the $1.83 billion Yeezy brought in at its peak.
She predicts terrace shoe sales will likely peak in all regions this year.
“Obviously and clearly, this trend will not last forever,” said Thomas Joekel, portfolio manager at Frankfurt-based asset manager Union Investment, which holds Adidas shares.
“At the end of the day, the consumer decides, and companies like Nike or Adidas have to be agile to jump on these trends.”
When British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak was seen sporting Sambas in a clip posted on Instagram earlier this month, some Britons felt he had dealt a blow to the shoe’s street cred.
Sunak later jokingly apologized to “the Samba community,” but CEO Gulden said Sunak’s penchant for the shoe had had no impact on sales.
Broader trend cycles can be bruising for the big sportswear makers.
In 2018, Adidas sales in Europe, its biggest market, fell when its minimalist white Stan Smith shoes started to go out of fashion. And Nike is currently scaling back supply of its classic Air Jordan 1 shoes due to weaker demand.
So Adidas is trying to spread its bets.
Its chunkier, skater-style Campus shoes are becoming more popular and outselling the Samba in some markets, Gulden said.
Adidas also plans to ramp up marketing of its classic Superstar shoe to drive a renewed trend for it next year.
It recently launched a $200 version of the shoe with designer Edison Chen, featuring a rippled sole.
Gulden said Adidas has been working to clear the market of seasonal colors of the Superstar, focusing only on the classic black and white, so as to make sure the market is “fresh” for new launches later this year and next.
“We will maintain the current franchises, and then time the activation of Superstar as we and the retailers need it,” Gulden said.
“We will not push it globally in huge volumes. We will hold it back and let the consumer decide when he or she wants the Superstar.”
Bringing out more expensive limitededition versions in collaboration with designers, like the $350 Y-3 Gazelle with Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto, is one way to keep a product in fashion.
“What Adidas and Nike are doing with some of their product is trying to follow the luxury playbook – premiumization, exclusivity, restricting supply, making it all more desirable so you can have bigger margins and create a halo effect for the brand,” said Matt Clark, retail expert at consultancy AlixPartners in London.
For retailer JD Sports, new variations on the Samba shoe in different colors and materials are helping maintain shoppers’ engagement, CEO Regis Schultz said in its recent results.
Retailer Foot Locker also flagged “strong demand” for Adidas terrace styles.
“Gulden is very much aware of the fact that you should not overstretch what you are doing to keep the model – to keep the brand and the model hot,” said Cedric Lecasble, analyst at Stifel.
“If they distributed tens of millions of Samba in the same year, they would sell them, probably, but they would probably also put an end to the Samba dynamic,” he said.
“What Adidas and Nike are doing with some of their product is trying to follow the luxury playbook – premiumization, exclusivity, restricting supply, making it all more desirable so you can have bigger margins and create a halo effect for the brand.”

This innovation propelled Adidas to the forefront of the sports industry, setting the stage for decades of groundbreaking advancements.
Throughout its history, Adidas has continued to innovate, introducing game-changing technologies such as Boost cushioning, Primeknit uppers, and Torsion systems. These innovations not only elevate performance but also redefine the standards of comfort and durability in athletic footwear.

Will remaining Adidas Yeezy sneakers be sold in 2024? Adidas outlines plan for inventory
After a temporary suspension in the retail of Adidas Yeezy footwear back in November, stemming from the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, Adidas has recently announced that the iconic Adidas Yeezy Cheap footwear line is poised to make a return in 2024.
The company's just-released annual financial report for 2023 revealed that Adidas exceeded revenue and operating profit expectations in the fourth quarter. This success is attributed to the strategic decision not to overlook the majority of its remaining Yeezy inventory.
The Three Stripes label appears to have reevaluated the significance of Yeezy products in its overall business strategy, signaling a renewed commitment to the iconic line.
In the upcoming year, the German sportswear brand is set to liquidate the remaining Yeezy products in its inventory. Nevertheless, the label's CEO has shared that the existing Yeezy stock would, at a minimum, be priced to cover expenses.
In November 2023, the Three Stripes brand disclosed that it retained a substantial inventory, valued at €300 million, of Yeezy footwear. This excess inventory remained after the German label ended its association with Kanye West in October 2022 because of his inflammatory social media posts.
The brand resumed selling Yeezys in May 2023 but later halted sales of the footwear due to concerns about the potential backlash associated with West.
Adidas' CEO, Bjørn Gulden, has shifted his stance on Yeezy sales, deviating from his earlier position and stated:
"For the full year our currency-neutral revenues were flat, and we reached an operating profit of €268 million. This is €68 million better than what we guided for. The improvement is due to the better operating business of around €100 million and the decision to not write off €268 million of Yeezy inventory."
"Our consumer, retail and trade research has shown that we can sell this remaining inventory in 2024 for at least the cost price. This is why we have only written off inventory that was either damaged or very broken in sizes." He continued.
The still-ongoing story between Ye and Adidas has been developing since October 2022, marked by a sequence of choices and changes. After initially announcing its decision to stop selling Adidas Yeezys, Adidas quickly changed its mind and organized an unofficial Yeezy Day in 2023.
Nevertheless, after receiving criticism for Ye's remarks, Adidas discontinued Yeezy sales due to concerns of cultural appropriation. However, they later decided to resume sales to support various initiatives. However, amid increasing conflicts in the Gaza Strip and Israel, Adidas once again chose to cease Yeezy sales.
Now, in 2024, Adidas has once again begun selling its remaining Yeezys, possibly signaling the end of this ongoing story. Skeptics contend that Adidas' fluctuating position presents them as uncertain and lacking in firmness. Despite the controversies, there are doubts about whether these actions have truly improved Adidas' reputation.

Adolf Dassler: The Leader Behind Brand Adidas Success
Adolf Dassler: His Early life of Adidas Founder
Adolf Dassler was the youngest of the four siblings born in the German town of Herzogenaurach in 1900. His father, Christoph, worked as a tailor, and his mother, Pauline, ran the family laundry. Adolf finished high school and, at his father's request, began an apprenticeship as a baker. Although he completed this training, a life of bread making did not appeal to him, so he decided to learn the skills of shoemaking instead.
Adolf's main interest outside of work was sports. He played and competed in a variety of sports, including track and field, football, boxing, ice hockey, skiing, and ski jumping, accompanied by his childhood friend Fritz Zehlein (the son of a local blacksmith, who plays an important role later in the story). Through his exposure to such a diverse range of sports, he made a key observation that would later serve as the foundation of his success: he noticed that all athletes wore essentially the same shoes.
World War I
Adolf Dassler was forcibly recruited into the German Army in the late stages of World War I before he could immediately turn his sports shoe idea into a business. In 1919, when he returned to Herzogenaurach, Germany was in the grip of post-war economic depression. Jobs were scarce, but Adolf was determined not to let his dream die, so he converted the old laundry shed at the back of the Dassler house into a shoe workshop. He earned money by repairing footwear for the locals, using the shoemaking expertise he had learned.
