Mortal Kombat 11 x reader: Chapter 6 War on the homefront

The scene cuts to the command center. Cassie is with Sonya, using one of the holographic interfaces at a desk. 　

"Here's how you access incoming reports. Swipe here to crosscheck them with past reports. The software can suss out the deltas" Cassie explained as she showed Sonya how it works "Now that's progress" Sonya said impressed. Cassie smiles and leaves her to it. Sonya pulls the chair she's seated in closer and starts looking over the data. Across the command centre, both of the Johnny Cages look over at her with adoration, with past Johnny flashing a cheesy smile. Sonya briefly looks over at them, trying her hardest to smile back as non-flirtatiously as possible. past Johnny leans over to his older counterpart. 　

"So... I marry Lieutenant Princess over there?" past Johnny asks as present Johnny looks in her direction, also cracking a smile "I always have had a thing for blondes. Ever since Suzie-- " past Johnny say as the present Johnny catches the thought and speaks at the same time as his younger self "--Donardo Junior year" "Take it from me, heh, you didn't miss much" present Johnny says then points over to Sonya "That woman over there? She's the real deal" past Johnny tilts down his sunglasses "Oh, I got eyes, brother. As Younger You, I solemnly swear to tap that at the earliest opportunity" 　

His words instantly cause present Johnny's smile to drop from his face. Around them, the other soldiers in the command centre gasp and look at past Johnny in disapproval. Sonya looks particularly upset, while Cassie shoots a look of disgust in his direction. As present Johnny hangs his head in disbelief, past Johnny turns to him "What? It's our destiny!" present Johnny stands up from his chair and grabs his younger self by the ear, dragging him up amidst protests of pain "Out" He says as he forcibly drags past Johnny out of the command centre. 　

"How the hell do I ever sleep with that guy?" She looks to Cassie, who walks over to her. "Who's... your father. I can't believe I just said that" "Look, my dad isn't the Johnny you know. He... grew up. I like to think you rubbed off on him. As a kid, I looked up to both of you" Casssie said as Sonya smiled "My dad - your grandfather - was my hero. Called me Private Pun'kin" "Huh. That's what you called me" There's a moment of awkward silence between them "We should get back to work"Cassie said as Sonya nods and Cassie takes her leave. Sonya looks back to the interface "Biometric verification required" The interface says then scans her eyes "ID verified - General Sonya Blade" Sonya is impressed "General Blade? Dad would be proud" The screen brings up a picture of Sonya saluting in her combat gear, alongside her biography which lists her as deceased. Sonya looks around for a moment, seeing that Cassie is currently in discussions with a couple of her subordinates. She turns back to the screen and begins to type in some commands. 　

The scene cuts to the Special Forces' hangar. past Johnny is walking away from his older self "Untwist your panties, Older Me. I'm a star" he says not caring. Present Johnny grabs his past self by the shoulder and pulls him back, getting in front of him at the same time and staring him down "This is a military operation, not a movie set!" he sternly said but having no effect on his pastself "I'm only the best fighter here. But YOUR--" He prods his older self "--daughter's got me sitting at the kids table" fed up with his attitude present Johnny slaps past Johnny on the side of his head, causing his sunglasses to dislodge. After a moment of shock, he hastens to put them back on properly "OUR daughter is C.O. A little humility MIGHT earn her respect!" he says raising his voice. 　

Past Johnny looked straight at his furuteself annoyed at how he is in the future "Dad always said "Hungry people eat lunch, humble people serve it." present Johnny prods past Johnny in the chest "Dad was an asshole! Hollywood made us--" He removes his younger self's glasses and drops them on the ground "--an even bigger one!" He then stomps them into bits. Undeterred, past Johnny pulls out another pair of sunglasses from the side of his pants and puts them on his face. He smirks, and then jumps into a comically over dramatic fighting stance "Heee-yaaaaah!" he exclaims. Present Johnny shakes his head in disgust and assumes his own stance. 　

They fight. One would assume that the past Johnny would have every advantage fighting an aged version of himself. But for all of his speed, strength and skill, the present Johnny knows his every move before he himself even pulls them off. present Johnny is careful not to even injure his younger self, but even with this handicap he has no trouble taking him down. Within moments, past Johnny is kissing the tarmac "An old man just kicked your ass" past Johnny struggles back to his feet and dusts himself off. As he begins to walk away, it's clear the beating has disconcerted him, but he tries to maintain a false bravado nonetheless "...You got lucky" 　

Past Johnny stopped for a second before looking down "why is (name) here?" he asked dead serious making present Johnny flinch and averst his gaze "she's here because she's our friend and allie-" "CUT THE SHIT!" past Johnny snapped whirling around sneering at his futureself, who looks shocked "you know what I mean! everyone here has been dancing around this the whole time we've been here! Why is she here and not back home where she's supposed to be?" he pokes his futureselfs chest "why isn't she safe at home? why is she still here? why is she fighting with us?" Present Johnny's patients was wearing thin at his pastselfs questions "she's fighting with us to stop Kronika" "you know that's not what I mean damn it! Don't avoid the question and answer me! what happened to her to make her stay here and be younger than us by so many years!" "SHE DIED!" 　

Silence hangs in the air around them. Past Johnny is stunned "what..." he whispered stumbling slightly as present Johnny takes a deep breath before facing his pastself "she died the day Shao Kahn was defeated. she fought him with help from the elder gods by using her body as a vessel when they left her they took everything from her. her strength, her energy...her life" Present Johnny ran a hand through his hair while his past self is trying to take this in "wait why didn't Raiden step in a save her?...why did he let a girl die for a world that wasn't hers? hell why didn't anyone save her!" "we couldn't do anything. it was too late...Raiden explained that the Elder gods brought her to our world to be our warrior" "warrior...she was 18 fucking years old! she wasn't like us she was just a kid!" 　

Past Johnny realizes he's using past tense when the (name) he knows is still back in his time. A memory of her 18 year old self smiling at the wushi academy flashes through his mind. He takes a deep shakey breath "just...just tell me how she came back...god this is twisted" present Johnny nods "from what she told us the Elder gods brought her back when she was 20. for her it was only 2 years for us it was 14 but she stayed hidden for about a year in outworld and five of those with master Hasashi for training then to us granted we didn't find out it was her till the whole Shinnok thing was over" past Johnny was quiet as he processesd everything. 　

The scene cuts back to the Special Forces command room. Sonya is still seated at her desk, checking through the computer interface for more information about her future self. She presses a link on the screen, and an audio snippet from the earlier mission in the Netherrealm begins to play. The screen displays a new text box in bright red: "BODY NOT RECOVERED" "What?! I'm---" the audio clip is distorted, cutting out part of Cassie's earlier statement "--leaving you behind! --C'mon, move it!" Sonya instantly recoils in confusion and surprise at seemingly hearing that her future daughter left her for dead. The growls of the Netherrealm demons can be heard in the distorted background. "Let's go, let's go, move it!" "What...?" Sonya whispers. 　

She gets up from her seat and storms over to Cassie "You left me behind?" she growled confusing Cassie "Excuse me?!" "My final mission!" "How did you-- She looks over to the screen Sonya was looking at, seeing the red message for herself "Shit" Cassie begins to lose her composure "No, I'm not doing this, not now, not with you!" She tries to turn away, but Sonya grabs her by the shoulder and pulls her back. "Dammit, Cassie! You abandoned me?" "To save the company! That was my order!" "Who the hell gave you that order?!" "YOU did" At these words, Sonya looks away, doubt etched across her face "Read the full report, Lieutenant" 　

Before she can say anything else, all the screens in the command centre turn red and an alarm begins to ring. An "ALERT" message appears on several of the screens. CASSIE: Go to Condition Red! In the hangar, Special Forces soldiers begin running into position, fully armed. Both Johnny Cages are also equipped with assault rifles, running back into the base. Cassie's voice echoes across the tannoy system. CASSIE: We're under attack! Repeat, we're under attack! past Johnny hoists his rifle into the air one-armed like an action hero, while present Johnny keeps his pointed downwards like a professional soldier. "Yippee-ki-yay, right?" past Johnny says as he strides forward, but present Johnny catches him by the shoulder "Follow my lead" he says. 　

He brings his rifle to bear and steps forward, with his younger self trying to imitate his motions as best he can. Before either of them can get very far, a huge explosion rips through the side door of the hanger. No one is killed in the blast, but both Johnnys are thrown from their feet. As they look up, they see Black Dragon mercenaries entering through the blown open hole... and leading them is the younger Erron Black. 　

The scene cuts to another part of the Special Forces base. Three lines of Cyber Lin Kuei cyborgs are standing in formation. Both the younger and elder Kano stride through them, shoving any cyborg in their path back into formation. They reach a large door - the door to the command centre - and smirk in an identical fashion. 　

Behind them strides Sektor, his cybernetic body now infused with the same white and golden painted metal that his cyborg army wears as well - the design of Kronika. The only reason Sektor is recognisable is that parts of him still have the red paint job. He also approaches the door and lifts his fist in its direction. A red laser shoots out from an enclosed gun-turret embedded in his forearm. 　

Back in the command centre, the Special Forces soldiers are hastily constructing barricades with whatever boxes they have lying around. Cassie briefly trades a tense look with Sonya, neither woman saying anything. The soldiers around them bring their rifles to bear as Sektor's laser continues to cut through the steel door like a hot knife through butter. 　

Sonya narrows her eyes and Cassie nods her head. She brings her dual pistols to a firing position and Sonya brings up her rifle at the same time. 　

The scene cuts back to the hanger. Johnny and Johnny are in cover behind a large tank, with present Johnny ducked down behind the treads and past Johnny standing upright and making himself a bigger target. They are trading fire with the Black Dragon mercenaries. The Johnny's quickly find themselves outgunned due to the superior numbers against them and they retreat, ducking behind the tank and running across the hanger to find more cover. 　 As they run, time slows down and a bullet clips past Johnny's cheek, drawing a thin line of blood and knocking his glasses off his head. As the Johnny's duck into cover behind a large jeep, present Johnny brings his hand to his cheek and looks at his younger self. present Johnny now bears the same wound that his younger self has, though his is a faded scar. 　

"Oh, that's freaky like Friday" Present Johnny said pointing at his cheek "They shot our face, Johnny" past Johnny says as he looks like he's about to start crying "They shot our FACE!" He pulls out a personal mirror to examine the wound... which is instantly blown to pieces by a stray bullet. This serves to anger him, and he picks up a nearby riot shield and storms out into the open fray. past Johnny roars in fury and fires his rifle one-handed at the mercenaries... completely missing them due to firing a two-handed weapon with one hand. 　

"Ugh, he's gonna get us killed" present Johnny groans then steps out of cover just as Erron Black and the mercenaries begin to concentrate their fire on past Johnny. Erron's marksman rifle is blasted out of his hands by a shot from present Johnny, allowing his younger self to stride forward with the shield in front, while present Johnny steps in just behind him. past Johnny proves to be as utterly incapable of shooting straight as the mercenaries are at shooting at anything but the shield he is holding up. But it soon becomes a moot point as past Johnny charges the mercenaries with the shield, ploughing into them and forcing them back. As he tackles them to the side, present Johnny faces off against Erron Black, having run out of ammunition for his rifle. 　

"Ooh! Funny way of saying howdy, partner" present Johnny mocked "I was saying goodbye" Past Erron replied "Now why's a nice Texas boy like Erron Black in bed with the Black Dragon? Older You works for Kotal Kahn. He's one of the good guys, kinda" "When I pick sides, I pick a winner. Every time" 　 They fight. Even without a gun by his side, Johnny Cage is still far from defenceless, and his energy powers and martial arts wizardry are more than a match for the gunslinging Erron Black. After a fierce scuffle, the outlaw is left down on the ground by Johnny "You chose... poorly" 　 Johnny runs off. The scene cuts to the Special Forces command centre. The steel door that served as the entrance has been sheared off at the top by Sektor's laser, and the bloodied bodies of both the Special Forces and the Cyber Lin Kuei are strewn around the interior. present Johnny runs into the centre, with Jax and Jacqui behind him. 　

"Cassie! Sonya!" He spots his daughter lying on her back and rushes to check on her. Miraculously, Cassie is only unconscious and quickly wakes up when her father helps her to a seated position "Breathe, kiddo" he says as Cassie takes a few breaths in, gathering her bearings "They took Mom-- Sonya" she said trying to stay awake "I'll get her" Cassie tries to say more, but her eyes roll backward and she almost passes out. She manages to stay conscious only by an immense show of willpower. With Cassie in no condition to issue orders, Johnny looks back to Jacqui "Can we find out where they've gone?" he asks. Jacqui moves over to one of the interface screens, quickly logging in. Within moments she has what she needs "Tarmac B" she replies "On it. Keep her" 　

He gently lets Cassie down onto her back, then stands back up and departs the command centre. The scene cuts to Johnny sprinting down a corridor, having acquired another rifle from somewhere. He dashes past a steel door, but then backpedals to it and takes a look through its window "Ohhh..." Chuckling to himself, Johnny pushes the door open and enters the hangar that it leads to. The scene cuts to the desert landscape outside of the base. Sonya struggles as two Cyber Lin Kuei grip her arms on either side, but is unable to break free. Sektor approaches her "Take her" he commands. 　

As the cyborgs drag Sonya backward, a large explosion rips through the base behind them. What is left of the cyborg army turns to the gigantic hole that has been blasted through part of the wall. As the smoke gradually clears... a gigantic tank, piloted by Johnny, emerges from the base, crushing two cyborgs under its mass. A third is caught under the treads and squished into a bloody paste. As two more cyborgs are flattened under the tank, Sektor shoots out two of his chest missiles. They hit the tank just under its main gun, but barely cause any damage. Inside the tank, Johnny laughs at the ineffective barrage and rides toward Sektor, who teleports out of the way just before he is crushed. Noting the teleport, Johnny brings the tank around and spots Sektor making a run for it. He smiles as he notices Sektor running toward the edge of a cliff. 　 With nowhere else to run to, Sektor turns around... just as a black jet fighter suddenly appears from the canyon behind him. At this, Johnny's eyes widen and he brings the tank to a stop. Sektor activates the boosts on his feet and jumps up to the side of the jet's cockpit. As he does so, the fighter unleashes two of its missiles straight at Johnny's tank. Gasping in fear, Johnny desperately tries to put the tank into reverse, but he only succeeds in turning it slightly as the missiles rain home. They target the leftmost treads of the tank, blowing the tank upward into the air briefly and letting it slam down hard. While the tank remains upright, the targeted treads have snapped in two from the impact. 　

The jet fighter arcs off into the air and swings around for a finishing barrage. Johnny emerges from the tank with a satchel charge, just in time to spot the jet coming for him. His face narrows in determination. The jet fighter lets loose with a barrage from its gatling gun. While it strikes the ground a fair distance from the tank, it is clear that this is a strafing attack and the jet moves ever closer to the tank, the gunfire never letting up. Johnny chucks the satchel charge back into the tank's interior and jumps off, narrowly avoiding some bullets. He sprints off and brings a detonator to bear as the jet fighter closes in. 　

"Two can play that game!" Johnny said as the jet flies over the tank, Johnny presses down on the detonator. The satchel charge explodes, and with it the tank as well. More importantly, the jet fighter is also caught in the blast and catches fire in several places. Sektor jumps from the smoking wreck and lands back down near the base as the jet crashes offscreen somewhere in the mountain and explodes. Sonya was not able to escape the cyborgs during all of that anarchy and she is still being restrained by two of them. Sektor relays instructions to the cyborgs while never taking his optics off the approaching Johnny "Send another extraction vehicle" Sektor orders. Johnny finishes his long walk over to Sektor, Sonya and the cyborgs "You won't be online long enough for your friends to make it, tinhead" Johnny says as Sonya again struggles against the cyborgs, managing to wrench one arm free, but she is quickly restrained once again. The cyborgs drag her to one side as Sektor faces down Johnny "Johnny Cage. Cyrax defeated you when you were younger and stronger. As I am his superior, I am yours" "You're forgetting the time I beat Shinnok, mano-a-mano. Oh, wait! You were dead when that happened" 　

They fight. For all of the advantages Sektor has as a cyborg - his weapons, augmentations and gadgets - Johnny Cage matches and surpasses them with his fighting skill and powers. The struggle is brief, and Sektor is soon lying deactivated out on the ground. "Go back to the nineties" Behind him, Sonya cries out as she tries to break free of the cyborgs restraining her. Johnny turns around to face them "Who's next?" he asks. The cyborgs remain where they are. A new voice cuts in from behind Johnny "I'm next, Hollywood" 　 The past Kano points an assault rifle directly at Johnny. Undeterred, Cage runs straight at him and time slows down as he does so. Kano shoots the gun, but Johnny slides into his signature splits and the bullet flies overhead, mere centimetres from his face. In slow motion, Johnny clenches his fist and brings it back for a swing. Kano looks down with an expression of mounting horror as Johnny finishes the splits and slams his fist straight into Kano's nuts. The effect is immediate - Kano drops the gun and doubles over in pain. 　

Johnny gets back to his feet as time resumes its normal length. Kano remains doubled over, clutching his crotch and wincing in agony "Shit. As if Throwback Me wasn't bad enough" Johnny says as Kano finally recovers enough to stand upright "Oh, it gets bloody worse. Sonya and your little girl... they're gonna die. Right in front of your face" 　

They fight. Kano remains a dirty and dangerous fighter as ever, with his cybernetic upgrades and numerous knives. But Johnny has beaten him before and knows his tricks, and helped by the anger he feels at Kano's words, he has no trouble overpowering and defeating the Australian thug once again "No one threatens my family. He walks over to Kano and stomps on his head, pinning him down. Behind him, more cyborgs have emerged from the base, but Johnny ignores them for now, focusing on putting an end to Kano. But before he can finish him off, a bullet suddenly punches through the kneecap of his right leg, knocking him to the ground "Oh! Motherf..." Johnny groans. 　

His curse peters out as he spots the older Kano approaching him with a captured hostage - his younger self. present Johnny clutches at his knee while present Kano keeps a pistol pointed at past Johnny "Well, well. Got ourselves a full on generation swap here" Present Kano smirked. present Johnny looks over as Cassie, Jacqui and Young Jax walk out of the base, Cassie and Jacqui both carrying assault rifles. As they approach, present Kano forces past Johnny onto his knees and aims the pistol at the back of his head, forcing them to stop. "Don't think so. Between Ninja Mime and Lady Liberty, we've got all the leverage. We're leaving" he says The two Johnnys say nothing, but both look at present Kano with joint contempt. Three transport planes fly overhead, landing on the ground nearby. present Kano pulls past Johnny to his feet and guides him toward the aircraft. The two cyborgs restraining Sonya also walk her in the same direction. 　

From out of the aircraft, two more ninjas emerge with a man not seen before in this timeline. Wearing a biker jacket and desert coloured trousers, he does not like the burn victim he will become in later years. present Kano addresses him directly "Kabal. Go get my lesser half" present Kanos said "And the base?" Kabal asks. present Kano pulls out a detonator "Taken care of. He presses the trigger" present Kano smirks. 　

Behind them, Sektor - who has since recovered - suddenly stands rigid and begins beeping. Cassie, Jax and Jacqui watch in silence as the Cyber Lin Kuei walk toward the aircraft, along with present Kano, past Johnny and Sonya, still vainly struggling against her captors. Once present Kano is out of sight, Cassie and Jax immediately run over to present Johnny to help him up, while Kabal pulls past Kano to his feet and walks him toward the aircraft alongside the last of the cyborgs. Once Kabal and past Kano are on board as well, the jets begin to take off. Once she is sure they are not facing her, Cassie sprints toward them. Jacqui runs after her, while Jax is left holding Johnny up "Cassie! Don't!" she yells. 　

Ignoring her friend, Cassie runs full pelt at the departing aircraft, but soon finds that she is about to run off the cliff edge. She grinds to a halt just before she would have fallen off, then raises her pistol and fires at the last aircraft. Rather than a bullet, she fires out a tracking device that attaches to the jet. As Jacqui, Jax and Johnny make their way over to her, Cassie holsters her pistol and pulls out her tablet. The screen shows an icon of an airplane, along with the word "TRACKING" and the probable destination of the plane - Russia. She looks into the distance with determination "Let's go get them" she said. 　

In the silence following the departure of the planes, a beeping noise now echoes through the air. "Anyone else hear that beeping?" Johnny asks then they look behind them. Sektor is still standing rigid, with electricity sparking off him. It quickly becomes apparent to all of them that he is about to explode. Thankfully, Raiden teleports into the clearing with a flash of lightning. 　

"Have I arrived too late?" Raiden asks "You're back in the nick of time!" Johnny says as he motions toward Sektor, who is now screaming in agony as his cybernetic body is wracked with electric sparks. Raiden immediately spreads his arms outward and generates a shield of electricity around himself, Johnny, Jax, Cassie and Jacqui, teleporting them away just moments before Sektor finally detonates, the explosion completely wiping out the Special Forces base behind them. 　

The scene cuts to a luscious garden in the mountains of Japan, adorned with white trees with blood red leaves. Raiden's teleporting shield brings them all into the centre of the garden. Inside one of the huts, Hanzo Hasashi is deep in meditation with Calithea sleeping next to him. He opens his eyes as the flash of lightning finishes. He walks out of the hut to find Raiden, Cassie, Jax, Johnny and Jacqui before him "Now that's what I call a miracle" Jax comments "Yeah, Raiden. Thanks" says Cassie. 　

As Hanzo approaches, Raiden faces him and puts his hands together in a respectful salute. "Grandmaster Hasashi, I humbly request the Shirai Ryu's hospitality. My Sky Temple has been compromised. There is no safer place for us to gather" Hanzo inclines his head in a bowing motion "Lord Raiden. Welcome to the Fire Garden" "daddy?" a small voice came from behind Hanzo making them look to see Calithea walking to them. She notices Raiden and smile running up to him "lord Raiden! have you heard of anything from mommy?" she asked Raiden frowned "I'm sorry, Calithea, but no I haven't" her smile dropped, Hanzos expression turned to concern, Cassie kneeled down in front of her "don't worry pun'kin. you're moms gonna be ok" she said smiling. 　

The scene cuts to a later time in the day. Raiden stands on a bridge overlooking a small pond, with Cassie, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Jax, Jacqui, Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Johnny now standing with the help of a crutch facing him "The Elder Gods are gone? Shinnok is Kronika's son? No wonder she sent the Black Dragon after me and Dad. We both kicked his ass" Cassie said "It is not vengeance that drives Kronika. She restarts history to balance light and dark among the realms" Raiden states "What can we do, Lord Raiden?" Liu Kang asks "Gather Earthrealm's forces. But that effort will be for naught if Kotal Kahn's armies cannot join us. Cetrion informed me that Shao Kahn has captured Kotal Kahn. We must spare no effort to free him" Raided hesitats before continuing "she has also informed me that Lady (name) has also been captured" everyone is stunned Hanzo glared at Raiden "and you said nothing before?" "I did not wish to cause young Calithea any distress" Liu Kang stepped forward "Kung Lao and I will go. We will rendezvous with Princess Kitana" "Thank you both. May the Elder Gods prote--" He stops himself, remembering that the Elder Gods are now no more "...May you return victorious"

Uneasy Alliance - Chapter 3

Cassie Cage x Nyx (my oc)

Summary: When Kano decides he needs to hunt down a turncoat agent, it's up to Cassie to to protect her.

A/N: Literally haven't updated this story in a year and half. But don't give up on unfinished fics, folks! Who knows when you'll be inspired again. Also, Cassie realizing she likes girls is very much based on my personal experience of discovering I was pan. So, there's that.

“A truce?” Lavender eyes are unblinking, sharp jaw set hard as steel. “What the hell are talking about?”

Blue eyes rolled dramatically as Commander Cage strode into the meager set up. Her mouth, however, was shut for the longest amount of time since they’d met. Of course, when the turncoat actually wanted to hear the proposition. Instead, the blonde turned gracefully on the toe of her boot, not unlike a ballerina.

Under the right circumstances, Nyx could even imagine herself slipping her a phone number hastily scrawled across a sticky note. Right now, she had to resist the urge to cave Cassie’s skull in.

“Nice place you got here,” a quick nod of her head sent those pink aviators gracefully falling upon that round little nose, “Suppose you’ll be plastering some Echo and the Bunnymen posters up while you watch Eraserhead.”

“What’s your quarters look like, Barbie? Bubblegum pink with a closet full of Betsey Johnson rejects?” Nyx shot back without missing a beat, enjoying how Cage junior was bristling beneath the quick retort. It was clearly a long time since she’d had someone to engage in verbal sparring with.

“Point taken,” Cassie grits, arms crossed tightly across her uniform. “You want to hear what I’ve got up my sleeve or not?”

Mirroring her stance, the pallid woman responded with a sharp:

“I’m listening.” Her voice is terse, unflinching. Nyx had spent a long time guarding herself out of necessity, protecting those she’d cared about the most. So she waited as the blonde’s ponytail bobbed, chin nodding as she began.

“As I’m sure you’ve figured, my image here isn’t…the most respected.” It’s painful to admit, realizing her own mother barely holds any faith in her only child, “In fact, General Blade probably wishes I’d taken an interest in following my father’s footsteps.”

“Poor little princess,” Nyx feigns a pout, pink lips lacquered black. “Why don’t I play Celebrity Skin for you on the world’s tiniest violin?”

“What if you feed me some the intel you’ve got on Kano?” Cassie ignores the quip; with Johnny Cage as a parent, it got old really fast. “I’ll be your consult and use it to get ahead of the game here at Special Forces and we finally bag that greasy bastard.”

“Won’t that piss mommy off?” the hired gun had grown bored, unzipping the measly duffle tossed onto a narrow twin bed. She pulled out a black sports bra and matching thong, eyeing the bathroom situated in the corner. Commander Cage willed the rather delectable image in her mind away, feeling herself falling into a trap. “Sounds like stepping on her toes.”

“Sonya doesn’t give a shit if she finally shuts that cyborg up once and for all. Besides, overheard her and Briggs talking about some Outworld drug trafficking. Could be dangerous. How do you feel about going undercover?”

“Like some Columbo bullshit?” dark lips stretch into a wry grin, obviously amused. “I might be able to shed a little light on the Black Dragon. Where do you want to start?”

“Get some sleep. We’ll assemble in the morning. Jacqui will join us.”

“Afraid to be alone with me?” it’s a harmless joke though Cassie’s heart pounds in her chest. Was she even attracted to women? What a time for such a revelation.

“You’re not in any place to question my actions.” That sharp commanding voice returns, a military woman whose determined to keep the control she’s never had. So the assassin holds her hands up in surrender.

“I’m fucking with you.” She admits, “You’re fun to fuck with.”

Then Cassie’s face turns as red as a tomato as her lungs constrict, breathing impossible as she turns on a booted heel and marches to the sanctuary of the hallway.

……

A week passes since Nyx was at the club last, no shadows slinking through the corridors like a ghost.

“Anyone seen Siouxsie Sioux lately?” Alex’s voice breaks him from his train of thought, boot propped upon the bench as they were laced quickly. He’s still bruised from the last fight, eye swollen, lip split. The man doesn’t react to the pain, tightening the bun at the nape of his neck.

“You mean Nyx?” Kabal hates how her name feels on his tongue, souring their agreement.

“No,” he feigns a haughty laugh, switching boots upon the cracked wood, “I mean Erron. Y’know with all the dark eye makeup. They’re practically the same person. ‘Course I mean Nyx.”

“Don’t have a fucking clue.” He huffs, leaning against the cool steel of the battered lockers. “I’m not her mother.”

“Would that make you a milf?” Time barely passes before Kabal is pulling his cohort into head lock, pressing his fist roughly into the curve of Alex’s skull. “Fuck, it was a joke!”

“Not a fan of noogies?” His knuckles dig into dark hair, playful yet firm before the door to the cage opens. The men pause as the manager’s finger falls on Alex.

“You’re up.” He disappears behind the metal door as the fighter’s straighten themselves out. Straightening his hair, Alex pushes his mask up to his lips before rolling his shoulders and sashaying to the doorway.

A large hand salutes dopily before he’s gone. Then Kabal’s train of thought returns.

He doesn’t think anything of it; she’s been under the boss’s thumb for awhile but still preferred doing her work alone, away from prying eyes. He’d been to her apartment once, a few blocks away from Echo Park, nestled atop a Chinese Restaurant. It wasn’t a secret that she liked to be alone.

But this was fucking ridiculous. She’s always showed back up, like a stray cat that got a lick of cream once. The others in the locker room kept their faces down before the mask was in place, pretending the scars mangling his face didn’t exist. So his mask was pressed to raw, red skin, hooks holstered across his back as the man wandered from the sweat drenched walls down the narrow halls lit by flickering fluorescent lights.

Kano’s office was unmarked, a black door with chipped paint. Kabal’s fist collided with the hardwood before being granted entry with a gruff ‘In’. Pushing the door open found the man curled over his desk, Echo dutifully stationed in the corner, unflinching and unfeeling.

“Whaddya want?” Kano spat, red eye boring into some document like a laser pointer before meeting the equally dark pair of the metal mask across the room.

“Where’s your gun?” his voice was distant, mechanical as arms crossed over his chest as his gaze fell on the icy blonde hair of his right hand. She didn’t blink, staring the fighter down before clear eyes flickered downwards, falling back on her boss.

“On a job.” He replied with a roll of one good eye, “Taking her fucking time. Why?”

“Been gone for a while.” Kabal added, prying until he earned a sigh.

“Then go fucking find her. Pull her by the hair and bring her back.”

“Just like that?”

“If it’s bothering you so much, find her.”

“Sure thing, boss.” Kabal’s smirk was evident in his voice as he receded back into the hall. The hunt was on.

Hello! Searching once more on tumblr now that the newest Mortal Kombat game, Mortal Kombat 1 has been released recently, I’m looking to see if anyone would like to roleplay perhaps on Discord, willing to share my tag in DM's but feel free to DM me if interested!

I’m 22 and I would prefer my partner be above the age of 18 due to the fact MK is a violent, mature game I would expect my partner to be of age preferably as I do not roleplay with minors! I won’t spoil anything for those are still playing and learning the game’s story as it has just been released so I am willing to wait if they’re still learning! But for sure I am up to playing through the story with an oc x canon story, which I can double up happily too to make it fair and even for my partner as I’m all about making things fair for my partner where both ocs (Or if my partner wants a CC x CC story on their side.) have a good plot, same length of replies and to have fun whether the stories can mix! Mortal Kombat has a lot of chances to explore that side!

Please be at least Semi-Lit because I will not reply to one liners in the slightest! But if you’re not wanting Mortal Kombat 1, I am certainly up for a previous game too as I am knowledged in a lot of the older games as well as the current and new ones.

A battle erupts in Kotal's Koliseum until D'Vorah transports Baraka, Skarlet, Shao Kahn, Black, and Kano to her hive, recruiting them into Kronika's fold. Meanwhile, Kotal Kahn, the current emperor of Outworld, attempts to execute Shao Kahn loyalist Kollector, but is interrupted by a time storm that brings Shao Kahn, Skarlet, Baraka, and younger versions of Kano, Erron Black, Jade, Raiden, Kitana, Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade, Jax, Scorpion, Kabal, and Kung Lao from the past and erases Dark Raiden from existence. Kronika creates an alliance with revenants Liu Kang and Kitana, now rulers of the Netherrealm, immediately afterwards. The team succeeds in destroying the Netherrealm castle, though at the cost of Sonya's life. Two years later, a Special Forces strike team led by Sonya Blade, Cassie Cage, and Jacqui Briggs attack the Netherrealm, with Raiden providing a diversion to aid them. Uneasy Alliance - Chapter 1

Cassie Cage x Nyx (my oc)

Summary: When Kano decides he needs to hunt down a turncoat agent, it's up to Cassie to to protect her.

Cassie sat in command central, tapping her fingers on the counter. Incensed by being blatantly ignored, she snapped her gum aggressively. General Blade slammed a fist against stainless steel.

“What’s more important than this debriefing¸ commander?” Sonya looked up from beneath heavy-lidded eyes, equally tired as she was annoyed. Letting reflective aviators fall to the tip of a rounded nose, Cassie heaved herself up onto the counter. Classified folders were carelessly knocked to the ground.

“What’s more important is the Special Forces teaming up with one of Kano’s hired gun? This could really bite us in the ass.”

“Codename Nyx has some intel on the Black Dragon, commander.”

“Nyx? Is she going to hand over all of Kano’s secrets before selling us some shitty make up?” Cassie bristled upon receiving a cool silence. “You of all people should know what the Black Dragon is capable of, General Blade.”

Sliding to booted feet, the younger woman flattened her palms on her hips. Sonya pressed her tongue flat against her front teeth, counting to ten before turning her back to the commander. This was her subordinate first, daughter second.

Lest she say something she'd regret.

Cassie may have looked identical to a Blade though she acted and sounded like a Cage. Johnny would be proud, probably encouraging his daughter if he weren’t currently in Australia for a shoot. Now she was in charge of her entire faction and a kid that had never really grown out of her rebellious teen phase.

“Remember your station, commander.” Though the warning meant little to her daughter who only blew another bubble before obnoxiously snapping her gum once more before being swallowed by the sliding doors.

Wriggling, the burlap scarped against her cheek again.

Her breath was hot against her upper lip, cuffs chafing the fair skin of bony wrists. Understanding the constraints was simple though it did nothing to make Nyx any less anxious. But she’d had her slate cleaned before, this was no different.

Then why was she so nervous? It wasn’t an emotion to she was used to experiencing anymore.

An empty confidence had replaced anything she’d been before Kano, making Nyx a cold-blooded killer with a trained trigger finger. Yet, a ball of lead had settled in the pit of her stomach. All she’d known in this husk of a life was showing up at the Black Dragon once a week, getting her marks and cashing in the others that had been silenced.

Kano had groomed her, hardening her heart until it was icy and uncaring. Profiting off her duty to protect her family by becoming a ghost. Taking advantage of a troubled specter that did nothing but wallow alone in the night.

No. She wouldn’t cry. Not now, not because of him.

The armored truck hit a shallow pot hole, sending her sharply off the bench as the chains around booted ankles kept her grounded with a painful thud.

She wanted to scream at the military dunces that loaded her into this high-tech paddy wagon, to take back all the information she’d promised General Blade. Maybe they’d be forced to put her down like a dog in the alley.

It could all be over.

As soon as any cogent plan for escape came to mind, the truck stopped as the sound of several others followed suit. There was a cacophony of doors being opened then slammed shut, voices talking over others until booted feet stopped at the mouth of the van.

She could see nothing, only fabric as dark as night with her own white hair sticking to it. Doors creaked open, sunlight blasting into the compartment. Looking at the source confirmed nothing, as the sound of pointed steps came closer mixed with gum being snapped.

“General Blade?” the assassin attempted to sound cordial, especially to the one person who could keep her safe from the Black Dragon.

“ERRRR,” The imitation buzzer noise was enough of answer as the unseen figure pulled the fabric from her face. A blonde who was the spitting image of Sonya stood at Nyx’s feet. “The answer we were looking for was ‘Commander Cage’.”

Sporting reflective aviator sunglasses, it didn’t take long to put two and two together.

“I was expecting your mother.” Procuring a key, the blonde leaned down to undo the ankle restraints before bouncing back up.

“You got mommy issues too?” The prisoner stiffened as Cassie audibly sighed in annoyance, “Relax. You’ll be face to face with good ole mama Blade soon enough. Have to get you debriefed so let’s get on our feet and start walking.”

Shuffling onto heavy boots, Nyx couldn’t help but stare at the curve of the woman’s back side in a rather tight uniform. Damn, it had been a long time.

“Oh yeah, be on your best behavior. Got a couple pistols that are always itching to fire some bullets into a pretty face.”

Hopping easily to the asphalt, the woman followed in suit. Blinking as the bright sun burned sensitive corneas, she wobbled to the ground. The compound was filled with hundreds of soldiers, milling about or goose stepping.

It was enough to make Nyx uneasy, swallowing dryly at nothing.

What had she gotten herself into?

“Jacqui was supposed to bring her out,” Sonya paced, “Not you, commander.”

“I outrank her,” Cassie shrugged, eyes glued to the young woman on the other side of one-way glass.

“What have I said about pulling rank?”

“Do it?” Kano’s turncoat was a similar build to the blonde, probably close in age. According to Sonya, everything about the woman had been wiped a long time ago and she wasn’t ready to share.

No concrete information remained. Other than her Black Dragon ties and her code name.

Nyx.

Cage liked it, though she’d never admit aloud. To be a shadow in the dark that no one could catch. It seemed more ideal than being the offspring of the Johnny Cage. In fact, she didn’t follow in her father’s footsteps in an attempt to sidestep predictability.

Keep everyone guessing.

“Little Ms. Night Shadow have an agenda?” Pulling her sunglasses away, the commander took a moment to study their captive. Long, stick straight hair that fell to broad shoulders. Dyed down the center, one half was jet black while the other was white as snow. A lot of black leather and fishnets, topped off by a Sisters of Mercy t-shirt and fingerless gloves.

“Did you listen to a thing I said, commander?” A few of the privates tittered, falling back when Briggs demanded they do so.

“What? No. But I want to know what we have on her.”

“Do you ever read the briefings?” the general sighed, becoming agitated by her daughter’s unprofessionalism.

“Skim. I skim. Why’s she here?” After a moment, striking eyes met her own. Nyx saw her own reflection though Cassie thought she felt a presence. Searching someone's soul unknowingly. Yet there was a gnawing voice in her own head that informed her next words. “Let me talk to her.”

“Absolutely not.”

“Please.” There was something compelling about the woman, “I can do it. I won’t fuck it up. Pinky promise.”

Following the defeat of evil Outworld emperor Shao Kahn at the end of the 2011 series reboot,[4] Johnny Cage and his wife Sonya Blade see the birth of their child “Cassandra Carlton Cage”, shortened to "Cassie", but they later divorce.[5][6] Following in her mother's footsteps, Cassie joins the Special Forces, which uses military training and technology to protect Earthrealm from its enemies.[7][8] Under Raiden's orders, Cassie leads a task force assembled by her father and composed of a new generation of combatants—Jacqui Briggs, Takeda, and Kung Jin.[9][10] Sonya does not give Cassie preferential treatment.[11] The team gain experience as they attempt a sneak attack on Sub-Zero's Lin Kuei temple and fail, though the attack is revealed to have been a training exercise set up by Johnny. Sub-Zero tells Cassie and her unit they will fail unless they work together as a team.[12]

Sonya sends the team to Outworld to locate Mileena, who has Shinnok's amulet. Cassie encounters the realm's new ruler Kotal Kahn, who begrudgingly allies with her unit to locate the amulet.[13] The team recovers the amulet, but Kotal has them captured out of distrust and intended to use them to lure Raiden to Earthrealm.[14] When the unit return to Earthrealm, they discover Johnny had been abducted by Shinnok and taken to Raiden's Sky Temple, where the fallen Elder God has corrupted the Jinsei, the source of Earthrealm's life force.[15] After her team gets incapacitated or caught up fighting Shinnok's allies, Cassie faces Shinnok alone. During the battle, she discovers she inherited Johnny's ancient power, which increases her strength, and defeats Shinnok before helping Raiden restore the Jinsei. Following this, Sonya, Johnny, and Cassie happily reunite.[15] In a non-canonical arcade ending, Cassie is assigned to hunt a "soul stealer", who is believed to be the resurrected sorcerer, Shang Tsung. She tracks down the soul-stealer, an elderly man who identifies himself as Shujinko after she beats him to near-death.[16]

Cassie returns in Mortal Kombat 11. Two years after defeating Shinnok, she is promoted to Commander and leads a Special Forces strike team alongside Sonya and Jacqui in assaulting the Netherrealm. While the mission was successful, Sonya gave her life to ensure Cassie and the others escaped safely.[17] Due to a time storm caused by the keeper of time, Kronika, Cassie worked with younger versions of Johnny, Sonya, and Jax to figure out what happened.[18] When the Black Dragon cartel and Cyber Lin Kuei warriors attacked the Special Forces headquarters, Cassie fought to keep her parents' younger selves safe, but Kano ultimately captured them. In light of the attack, Raiden transported Cassie and their remaining allies to Hanzo Hasashi's Fire Gardens to regroup. Having put a tracker on Kano's helicopter,[19] Cassie led the surviving Special Forces members in weakening the Black Dragon and rescuing her parents' younger selves.[20] After Kronika kidnaps Liu Kang, Cassie took part in a joint Earthrealm/Outworld attack on Kronika's keep to rescue him.[21] In her non-canonical arcade ending, after defeating Kronika and attaining her god-like power, Cassie resurrects Sonya so she can retire peacefully and maintains her position as a Special Forces commander instead of becoming the new keeper of time.

DesignEdit

In Mortal Kombat X, Cassie was voiced by Ashly Burch;[1] the character's official biography describes her "as strong-willed–and occasionally hotheaded as her mother; and as quick-witted as her beloved dad".[16] An early sketch by concept artist Justin Murray showed Cassie as a "robotix [sic] engineer" with spiked, pink hair and a massive, hand-operated, mechanical arm.[22] Another concept depicted her as a muscular MMA-style brawler with long, pink hair and wearing a customized leather sports bra and panties, tall, black boots and fighting gloves with a personalized logo of her initials framed in a star.[22] Her design for the game consists of her short, blonde hair, aviator sunglasses, and a full Special Forces tactical suit; the design was finalized by artist Marco Nelor, who considered Cassie among his favorite designs.[23]

According to Kickboxer and mixed-martial artist Felice Herrig, physical and visual similarities between herself and Cassie Cage are not coincidental.[24] Cassie's in-game mannerisms include the blowing of bubble gum and the taking of selfies; the latter for which Herrig is well-known.[24][25] Herrig first mentioned possible similarities in a January 2015 post to her Instagram account,[26] and in April 2015, following the release of Mortal Kombat X, she said in an interview with Fox Sports, "Cassie Cage is 100-percent me",[25] and added, "Who doesn't want to be a bad ass in a video game? It's definitely cool and if they would have came to me and said 'hey can we use your image and your likeness in a video game as Cassie Cage?' I would be more excited."[25]

GameplayEdit

Cassie's fighting style is similar to that of her parents; she can fight with her hands in close combat and use her pistols from long range like Stryker.[27] Cassie adopts her father's attitude and her mother's combat styles.[28][29] She is playable in the game's twelfth and final chapter, in which she fights Sindel, Kitana, and D'Vorah before battling and defeating Corrupted Shinnok.[30]

Like the game's other selectable characters, Cassie's special moves and attacks are split into three gameplay variations; "Hollywood", "Spec Ops", and "Brawler".[31] In the "Hollywood" variation, Cassie—like Johnny Cage—wears sunglasses during battle, adopts his groin-punch move, and uses her handguns on the ground and in mid-air.[32][33] "Spec Ops" features a military-style offensive similar to that of Sonya; it features attacks such as air strikes with missiles and lasers, which she calls in through an earpiece.[31][34] In "Brawler", Cassie performs takedowns, tackles, and mid-air tosses.[31][33]

Using her "Testi-Kill" X-ray move, she assaults her opponent's groin area, rupturing the testicles of the male characters.[35][36] In Cassie's "Bubble Head" fatality[37] she shoots her opponents in both legs to incapacitate them, then shoots them once in the forehead, removes her gum from her mouth and sticks it onto the wound, causing the gum to fill with the victim's blood before they die. In "Selfie" she knocks off her opponent's lower jaw with her nightstick then takes a selfie image with the corpse, which she then uploads to a fictitious social media site.[38]

Cassie is a supporting character in DC Comics' Mortal Kombat X: Blood Ties weekly prequel miniseries that is set before the in-game storyline.[39] Her role is similar to that in the game; she aspires to establish her own identity as she follows in the footsteps of her parents.[40] She debuts in a two-parter in the fourth and fifth chapters; she is first seen training with Jacqui when her strained relationship with Sonya is revealed.[41] Cassie and Jacqui sneak into an underground, mixed-martial-arts arena, where Cassie is suddenly forced to fight Frost in a death-match, which Cassie wins and the Black Dragon crashes before she can kill Frost.[42] She and Jacqui take Frost to safety before they flee the arena, during which Cassie snaps selfies to leave a traceable trail for the Special Forces.[42]

In the ninth chapter, Cassie and Jacqui are captives of Kano and the Black Dragon but are intercepted by Mavado and the rival Red Dragon clan in an Outworld jungle. The factions fight over custody of Cassie and Jacqui before Erron Black frees them.[43] Mavado attacks Black and tries to kill Cassie and Jacqui, but they overpower him and Cassie kills him with his hookswords.[43] Cassie is then absent from the series until chapter eighteen, where she is imprisoned in a dungeon on Shang Tsung's island and is described by Havik as "the heir to an ancient warrior power", in reference to her father Johnny Cage's lineage.[44]

Cassie is forced to watch Skarlet assault Jacqui. Havik tells her he is capable of acquiring this power when Cage's loved ones are close to death.[45] In her cell, Cassie is attacked by Jacqui, who is under the influence of Havik's "Blood Code" curse. Skarlet, working with Havik, stabs Cassie in the chest with a Kamidogu dagger, inflicting a curse on her.[46] Sonya and Cage enter Shang Tsung's island to confront Reiko and the Red Dragon; they are presented with the brainwashed Jacqui and Cassie, who tries to kill her own parents to prove her loyalty to Reiko

Chapter 8

Summary: After your victorious battle against Goro, you face off against Shang Tsung. With you taking the victory and saving Earthrealm, Shang Tsung is forced to face his emperor in Outworld. However, for you and Raiden you do not understand why the amulet is not healed. Did you save Earthrealm fate or did you become the cause of its destruction?

Pairing: Mortal Kombat x reader; Bucky x reader; second soulmate x reader

In the middle of the night at the Wu Shi Academy, Jax and Raiden speak amongst each other as they look at Earthrealm warriors and Shaolin monks celebrating your victory.

“I do not understand why my amulet is further damaged.” Lord Raiden sighs. “He must win…Originally, I thought Liu Kang would be the victor.”

Jax casts him a side glance, “But Y/n won.”

Raiden nods as he looks down at his amulet. “Yes, she did. I do not know if her victory has saved Earthrealms fate.”

“What do you mean? Nobody coulda done what she did. She made Shang Tsung look like a chump.”

“When we first met, she told me a message from the Elder Gods. She said “The Grand Champion of Mortal Kombat shall be Earthrealms salvation or the cause of its destruction.”

“You don’t think that she could…” Jax shakes his head. He would not doubt you. You had proved to everyone that you were willing to stand up and fight.

“Here to congratulate us on our victory, sorcerer?” Raiden keeps his head straight, while he looks among Earthrealm warriors and Shaolin.

“What? Shang Tsung?!” Jax straights up.

Raiden takes a step towards Shang Tsung, “You have been revitalized, I see. I didn’t realize your master was in the habit of rewarding failure.”

“The emperor has an offer, Raiden. A new tournament.”

“I see no reason to participate in any plan of yours.” Raiden crosses his arms.

“The emperor proposes a single tournament, to replace the current system of ten. It will be held in Outworld. If Earthrealm does not win. Outworld will absorb it. But if Earthrealm wins, Shao Kahn will abandon his claim to it forever.”

Not wanting to hear any more, Raiden turns his body to look back over the sacred grounds. “Give your emperor my regards.”

Shang Tsung smiles wickedly as he generates a large portal across the courtyard. Hundreds of Tarkatan warriors emerge out of the portal, they charge and attack both Shaolin and Earthrealm warriors.

Raiden whips around furiously and attacks Shang Tsung meanwhile Jax jumps down. He clotheslines one of the charging Tarkatans. Head butts another. Punches and knees another Tarkatan then proceeds to thrown him down to the ground and stomping on the creature. Another Tarkatan creature sneaks up and sucker punches Jax. Having the advantage the Tarkatan sends Jax sprawling and knocks him unconscious.

“He gained a momentary advantage during our kombat and escaped. I now realize what we must do.” Jax starts hearing Raiden’s voice as he comes to. Johnny Cage and Y/n kneeling over him with concern.

The academy itself is in ruins, lying on the once sacred ground are the many corpses of Shaolin and Tarkatans. Jax looks amongst his friends to see they are uninjured, however one of his friends is missing. Sonya Blade.

“Where’s Sonya?” Jax question as you try to help him up.

“Shang Tsung has taken her.” Raiden answers.

“We’ve gotta find her!” Jax exclaims.

“We must follow them!” Kung Lao closes his fist with determination.

“Shang Tsung has made it clear that Earthrealm will be under constant threat unless I agree to a new tournament.” Raiden gasps as he has another vision.

“Another vision.” Jax looks to both Raiden and you.

“Yes. I saw Liu Kang win the proposed tournament. I believe we must attend.”

Something about this didn’t sit well with you. It made no sense. “Your earlier vision, of Liu Kang’s victory over Shang Tsung did not happen.”

“What are you trying to say, kid?” Jax looks over to you.

“What if Raiden’s vision is some sort of warning from his future self. Perhaps these visions are event’s we need to change. What if we decide not to agree?”

“Hundreds will die.” Johnny stated bluntly.

You instantly remember your conversation with the Elder Gods. They had warned you about Shao Kahn planning to move his forces to take over Earth. You had asked why they hadn’t intervened, but they replied that Shao Kahn had not violated the rules of Mortal Kombat. “Invasion is not itself a transgression. It is the merger of realms that is proscribed.”

“Invasion is not itself a transgression. It is the merger of realms that is proscribed.” You whisper. “The Elder Gods told me Mortal Kombat tournaments are not intended to prevent certain outcomes, but they are intended only to maintain balance among the realms. If we accept these new terms of Shao Kahn and we win, then he will abandon his idea of claiming Earth.”

“And if we lose.” Johnny questioned.

Everyone gave him a glare that he would say such a thing, all except you. Yes, you had thought about it. If Earthrealm warriors lose than Earth would be doomed. Now the words “the Grand Champion of Mortal Kombat shall be Earthrealms salvation or the cause of its destruction” looms heavily over you.

“Earthrealm will be destroyed. But we must not let that happen!” You reply.

“Very well, hear me, Elder Gods! I accept the terms proposed by Shao Kahn!”

A light from the heavens shines down on all of you.

“We go to Outworld.”

With Raiden, Jax, and Johnny looking for Sonya and Liu Kang and Kung Lao freeing their Shaolin masters, you took the time to get information for yourself. You found yourself walking through the dark creepy forest, when you heard explosions and then the sound of a fight transpiring.

Stealthily you walked over to see, Shang Tsung with Kano who was in a middle of a fight with another opponent. Was this new opponent an ally?

“Stay down!” He told Kano. “I would have words with your associate. Tell me what you know of Sub-zero’s death.”

Emerging out of thin air is Reptile, preparing to fight the new incoming threat. Shang Tsung changes his form into Bi-han. “Despite his failure at my tournament, I’ll wager he was more powerful than you, Lin Kuei.”

“Assuming his form will not give you his skill, shapeshifter.”

“Let us see if smoke can freeze.”

The two face each other in battle, but it is clear Shang Tsung did not…could not ever replace or be Sub-Zero. With Smoke taking the victory, you watch him hover over Shang Tsung. “Now answer me! What do you know of Sub-Zero!”

Suddenly the Lin Kuei is attacked by an unseeable force.

“You have disobeyed the directive to remain at the Lin Kuei Temple.” Cyborg Sektor states harshly as he emerges.

“Sektor?”

“You will return with us to begin your transformation.”

You decide to step out of the shadows and use your telekinesis on Cyborg Sektor. “I don’t think so!”

More Cyborg Lin Kuei appeared, immediately you use your abilities to take them all down. Sektor regains himself to see you dismembering and destroying the cyber Lin Kuei, with not even a sweat on your forehead. He decides then in that moment to retreat.

Hovering over one of the cyber Lin Kuei, you begin to examine all his parts. “You alright?” You asked the man dressed in black as you take a closer inspection of the helmet.

Smoke looks amongst the bodies of cyber Lin Kuei, how could this have happened? He knew of the cyber initiative but he along with Kuai Liang could never willing submit.

Your voice had snapped him back to reality, your voice was sweet and smooth. As you hover over one of the bodies, he quickly roamed his eyes over you. Your skin looked so smooth that he wanted to reach out and touch. Your raven hair floated gently in the wind. But what took his breath away was when you looked into his eyes with concern and the way you tilted your head with confusion. From that moment on he knew he was done for. You were truly the most beautiful women he had ever seen.

Clearing your throat, you decide to ask him again. “Are you alright?”

“Yes, thank you. I am called Smoke.” He bowed to you respectfully.

Immediately you pick up on Raiden and Johnny teleporting close to the both of you.

“Well Smoke it’s nice to meet you. My name is Y/n.” You stand up and extend your hand to shake.

Immediately, he notices your soulmate tattoo on your forearm. Of course, a beautiful woman like yourself was already promised to another.

Noticing his silence, you quickly pull your arm away, when Raiden and Johnny walked up beside you.

Johnny looks at the dismembered cyber Lin Kuei. “Damn…”

Smoke immediately drops to his knees out of respect for Lord Raiden. “Lord Raiden, I am called Smoke.” He rises on his feet again and looks between the three of you. “Why are you here in Outworld?”

“To participate in a tournament to save Earthrealm.” Raiden responds. “Join us, Smoke.”

Smoke looks to you with sadness in his eyes, before looking over to Raiden. “Forgive me, but if Sektor was searching for me, he is hunting Sub-Zero as well.”

Fear spreads throughout your whole body, your other half brother was here and now he was also in danger. Immediately, you use your telepathy to get his location.

“Sub-Zero? Call me crazy with a K…but didn’t he die?” Johnny asks Raiden with confusion.

“Not Bi-Han. He speaks of Kuai Liang. The Lin Kuei Grand Master intends to turn every single member into a cyborg. My brother is in danger!” You answer and immediately take off to search for him.

Kano’s Son Headcanons

Ever since I watched Kano’s MK X ending, I have been intrigued with the idea of Kano having a child. I checked a lot of Mortal Kombat platforms to try to get resources as well as read fictions on his son, which are as few as they come by unfortunately. The one fiction that featured Kano’s son which caught my interest was Mortal Kombat: Desperation by @flowerynameslover which is a good story y’all should read 😄.

Headcanons

Before the events of MK 1/ MK 9, Kano had an on-and-off relationship with a woman. Her name was Nila Finn

Nila gets pregnant for Kano, eventually having a baby boy named Damien. However, due to complications, she dies in childbirth.

Her death caused Kano to harbour resentment towards Damien, as a result, he refused to hold or even look at his child.

Damien, while growing up, has always been sickly. This frustrated Kano to no end as he was expected to succeed him as leader of the Black Dragons.

This also caused him to be a victim of bullying from members of the Black Dragon. Kano rarely helped him out, often calling him a weakling

When he turned 13, things got worse as his father decided that that was the perfect time lto train Damien to become the next leader.

During the ‘training’, he’s either beaten up or starved, sometimes it’s a combination of the two.

There were times he was forced to kill defecting members to ‘assert his dominance’. Each time he refused, Kano would call him a ‘little weak bitch’ before beating him up.

As he grew older, he grew to resent Kano, trying to rile him up. This leads to serious problems as anyone should know better than pissing Kano off.

Unable to take the abuse anymore, he plots to escape while eavesdropping on Kano’s plan to infiltrate the Special Forces base. He sneaks in by masking as Kobra after knocking him unconscious. No one figures it out until they get back to the Black Dragon base. By then, Damien has already escaped to the Special Forces.

He gets discovered by a soldier who reports his presence to General Blade. At first, Sonya thinks he’s a spy for the Black Dragon until she brings in Raiden.

Raiden believes his story and asks Kuai Liang (who is rebuilding his clan at this moment) to take him in. The grandmaster agrees, letting him seek refuge from Kano and the Black Dragons

After a few years later, Damien decides to temporarily train with the Special Forces, this is where he meets the Kombat Kids.

Relationship Headcanons

Has a great rivalry with Frost but no one is surprised as it is Frost being…well, Frost.

Also has a kind of friendly rivalry between him and Cassie Cage.

Surprisingly, Sonya does not consider him as an enemy as she understands that Damien is not responsible for Kano’s actions.

However, Kotal considers him as an enemy because of Kano’s hand in aiding Mileena’s side during the Outworld Civil War.

His relationship with Kano is complicated, considering the fact that Kano is the only family member he has left.

To honour his deceased mother, he kept her last name, Finn.

I think these are the only headcanons I have left for him. I don’t know if NRS decides to add him as a canon character (considering the fact that arcade endings are semi-canon) but who knows.

Note: I made a mistake mixing up ‘Caucasian’ with ‘white’, as in the race but @saltyneckoperatorbear brought my attention to this. Thanks for the correction 🙏🏾💜

Never Trust a Cowboy with a Computer (aka Erron Black X F!Reader)

I actually wrote this several months ago, and kept stalling and being an idiot. About 1 month ago I asked the wonderful @tomoka0013 & @gojihime99 if they could help edit it. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! SO many kisses to you both :D Basic premise is Erron Black X F!Reader. Reader handles the Black Dragon IT and they have a rather huge crush on Erron (because who wouldn’t?) Reader is about to go out to the cinema with Kabal & Tremor buuuuut… dun dun dun….. shenanigans ensue, This is Chapter 1 of 2. Chapter 2 is written but needs me to have a shout at it. Chapter 1 For once, the absolutely only time in recent history, your hair was behaving. Thank the Gods! Actually, was there a God of Hair? Hmmm, maybe Kano would know? His stories of meeting Gods were always fascinating, even though he would always exaggerate his role and prowess in encounters with said Gods. There was simply no way on Earthrealm that Kano would have stolen the Thunder God’s hat without being zapped into the Netherrealm. Plus, Kano had never produced the hat, so whenever he would have one too many beers and start on another night of tall tales, you’d nod along and feign complete belief in his words. Maybe one day you’d get to meet a God? Not likely whilst you were stuck behind a computer for hours every day. Especially working along side Erron-sodding-Black. He’d gone through at least 5 computers this year, 2 in the past three weeks! You’d swear he was doing it on purpose. In your steamiest daydreams he was deliberately breaking his computer so you’d have to travel to the ‘Black Dragon Boyz office’ (and yes, they did spell it with a z) to spend precious time un-fucking his computer. Every time it happened, you swore you were just going to tell him to go bother someone else, or get his arse down to PC World and find some spotty 17 year old work experience boy to bother rather than yourself. After all, you were doing just as an important job for the Black Dragon as he, well, almost. He might be a super amazing dead-shot sniper capable of assassinating even the most heavily guarded target, but you weren’t just IT support, you were a Black Dragon member too. You spent much of your time hacking into Special Forces super secret files, reading General Sonya Blade’s horribly dry mission reports, or transferring money from one Swiss bank account to another before you could be traced. Well, that was why Kano had hired you. Yet these past few months you’d been dragged to broken computer after broken computer by the obscenely handsome aforementioned Erron Black at least once a week. You hadn’t minded the first few times, after all, any time spent in Erron’s company made you all giddy and wibbly-wobbly inside your knickers. His voice honestly did things to you, actually made parts that shouldn’t tingle at work, tingle. He had warm eyes that seemed to sparkle whenever he spoke to you, or caught you staring at him, not that you stared at him. Much. OK, maybe a little. ****** Keep reading after the cut!!! *********

He had a smile that was likely illegal in half the known world. Long, strong fingers that you so often thought about, especially when you’d watch him dance a coin across his knuckles when he was thinking, his trick to keep his fingers supple. No, no no. No thinking about him. He obviously wasn’t interested in you. He was a simple man when it came to that. You’d seen him make moves on people who caught his eye, he’d watch them for a while, then walk up to them, give them a smile, tell them plainly what he wanted, and then watch them walk off together whilst your heart dissolved into self pity. A few months ago, you’d made a real effort to try to stop flirting with him. No more lingering looks while spending more time than needed helping him with his computer. The man was multi-talented with most things, just not computers. Probably didn’t help he didn’t grow up around modern technology. You’d gently teased him about being old and doddery around computers and he’d taken the jokes well, and really, you missed joking around with him, but it was for the best. Kabal jostled with you for mirror space, smoothing down his hair and giving the mirror a big grin. Why was it so easy for men like him? He could probably roll out of bed after 2 hours sleep with his face in a half-eaten curry and he’d still wake up handsome (the git). Whereas it took a lot of fussing to even get your hair to behave, let alone look nice and shiny like Kabal’s did. Maybe you could make a small shrine in the corner of your bedroom to the Hair God? You nodded to yourself, thinking Kabal must have done that. “Come on, you look beautiful. Now get your coat and scarf, and we’re outta here. If we don’t leave soon, we’ll miss it!” Kabal fussed with his coat buttons. Always unable to keep still, the man practically radiated excess energy. “I will be sad if we miss the film.” Tremor stood up from his own desk, the building shaking ever so slightly with the enormous man’s movements. “Not as sad as Kabal. He’ll start bawlin’ if he misses his boyfriend’s new film.” Erron spun round in his brand new swivel chair, his eyes glinting with mischief. “Johnny Cage is NOT my boyfriend and I don’t even care about missing the film.” Kabal bristled with indignation. He did care about missing it. He cared a lot. “I don’t even like his films, or him. I’m just watching it ironically.” Erron laughed. You felt that laughter, deep inside and it demanded attention. Bastard. “Suuuure. Enjoy your boyfriend.” “He is NOT my boyfriend!” This was going to end up in another fight. Last week Kabal had called Erron ‘Old Man Withers’. Erron had retaliated by drawing on Kabal’s Johnny Cage calendar. The moustache and glasses actually suited Johnny Cage. So Kabal put a mouse in Erron’s desk drawer and recorded Erron’s scream, playing it every so often while laughing, and it had gone on until Kano had forced them to apologise to one another, in front of everyone. This happened probably twice a month. It got to where people made bets on how long each feud would last. The longest feud had lasted 23 long days before Kano had flipped. “I do not want to be late.” Tremor tugged open the office door, the handle would need replacing. Again. You followed after the huge man, Kabal behind you muttering about revenge. “Hey, Sweetheart, you goin’ too?” It took a second before you realised that sultry Texan drawl was aimed at you. “Oh, yes. There was a spare ticket since Kira’s still stuck on a job.” Oh shit, you should have offered it to Erron instead. You’d been so excited to be included in the cinema plans that you’d been selfish and not asked if Erron had wanted to go. “But……” Erron’s face scrunched a little and he turned to his computer and hit a few keys in quick succession. “It ain’t workin’ again. Sorry, darlin’.” He gestured to his computer. “But… I only fixed it this morning! What have you done this time?!” You dropped your bag to the floor, and peeled off your coat with a frustrated groan. You were going to get fired as there was no way Kano would believe this. You were completely and utterly incompetent. No other reason. Your fault. “It’s those darn computer gremlins again.” He gave you an apologetic smile and shrugged. You sighed and waved goodbye to Kabal and Tremor, both eager to watch Ninja Mime’s latest adventure, and this one was in SPACE, so it was going to be amazing, and you were missing it. You stomped over to Erron’s computer, your mouth twisted into a grumpy pout. “That is it. No more computers for you! you want to do some work; then you can bloody well do it on a typewriter.” Erron replied with a “Heyyyyyyy” and another laugh. The throb between your legs from the laugh can just sod off. No more. Not when you were going to be unemployed and unemployable after this. Who was going to hire you? What could you put on your CV? ‘Failed IT support worker’? ‘Only capable of turning a computer on and even then it’ll probably turn itself off again when you’re not looking?’ ‘Can steal FBI or Special Forces secrets but can’t keep an old man’s computer running for more than 3 minutes before it’s broken again’? ‘Want to play Solitaire? Well don’t ask me, best try the sudoku in the newspaper instead’. You were so engrossed in sulking you didn’t notice Erron get up from his comfy chair to stand behind you as you perched on the crappy stool with no back (it had no back because Tremor had tried to sit on it). It was only when strong hands found your hunched shoulders and began kneading at the tightly knotted and sore muscles that you looked away from the ‘blue screen of death’. “I’m sorry, but I’ll make it up to you, Sweetheart.” By the Gods his fingers were truly magic. His thumbs were rubbing magic circles into your shoulders and it felt soooo good. “Mmmhhhhh?” Maybe he was a God, the God of massage. Your eyes closed and your head rolled back. Heat radiated from where his fingers touched you, heat that only got stronger when it reached your face and between your legs. He found one particularly knotted muscle and you couldn’t help but groan your pleasure as his thumb circled the spot. His chuckled reply tugged you back to your senses and you quickly shrugged his hands off you. Thank the Gods you had your back to him so he couldn’t see your positively flushed face. You quickly got back to tapping away at the keyboard but your hands were shaking so badly from the intimacy you struggled to hit the correct keys. “You sure you got that, Sweetheart?” The computer made indignant beeps at your clumsy fingers. “Says the man who has trashed enough computers to practically bankrupt Kano.” Your hands continued to shake and your thwarted desire swerved into anger. “I’ve made you mad.” “I haven’t been out in FOREVER, and just as I’m about to go out, YOU go break your computer. AGAIN!” “Ain’t my fault your boyfriend doesn’t take you out.” Why did he sound almost happy about that? Hang on… You span around to face him. “What boyfriend?” “You know, the dwarf.” “The.. what?” “Your boyfriend, the hairy dwarf.” His arms folded, his weight shifted to one hip. He didn’t seem too happy talking about this mystery boyfriend. “Is this some sort of joke?” You honestly had no idea what he meant. Maybe he was drunk or Kabal had told him this for a laugh. “I don’t think so?” One of his eyebrows rose in puzzlement. “I don’t have a boyfriend. All you could think of was the waste of time and how humiliated you felt. Everyone probably knew and had laughed at how utterly clueless you were. His eyes went all soft and warm and apologetic and Gods he was beautiful and you really did want to believe him. “You really thought it was accidental?” He tried to hide a smile and couldn’t stop one eyebrow from raising quizzically at the thought that you had been utterly clueless. “Well… you’re… there weren’t computers around when you were young…younger, I’m just an idiot aren’t I?” The-all-too brief warmth and fuzziness from thinking maybe there might actually be something there between you dissolved back into embarrassment from being tricked so easily. You grabbed your coat and bag and left the office whilst Erron stared after you.
