Takeaway: a feisty, fabulous, me-first strut for the planet of action; it’s time for your passion, courage, and confidence to roar loudly and with pride.  

     My initial plan for this horoscope was to post it as a sort of rah-rah victory cry after the election, because Mars in Leo feels oh-so victorious to me—it’s a feisty, fiery transit full of pride, passion, and so much confidence. In truth, there are large numbers of people who do in fact feel victorious and proud today (some might also be feeling confident, if not smug). I am not one of those people. I wanted, hoped and voted for a different outcome for this election. I wanted the victory, pride and passion to be for / about the first woman president, the trust in women, the promise of tomorrow, and a new way forward. That didn’t happen. I went to bed shook and shell shocked, and sooo not confident.      

     It snowed roughly six inches last night, so I woke to a gray, cloudless sky. No sunshine, no warmth, and no light other than the glaring white of the snow. Doom scrolling sucked me in early this morning; countless minutes I spent on my phone and computer, reading about election results and various news stories about the fate and future of America. I hopped from one platform to the next, hoping to find a nugget of wisdom, truth or reassurance, hoping to read a post—read another person’s words telling me it was all going to be OK. I couldn’t find what I was looking for, which made me feel heavier, made the day and world outside seem even darker. 

     To escape the doomscroll, I went outside. I shoveled the sidewalks and our driveway, grunting in frustration as I scooped heap after heap of heavy white fluff. Hands cold, nose running, and body aching slightly, I kept on shoveling. Why? I needed to clear a path. That was my aim, that was my goal: to clear away the snow, to keep going until the path was clear.

     I found relief in this, to be fully in my body and fully away from the news feeds, away from the chatter, away from my own spiraling thoughts of an uncertain future. In this state—cold with spirits dashed, focusing body and mind on the removal of the snow, I felt momentarily freed and momentarily aware. This is what Mars in Leo is really about, I thought, it’s a transit for doing something with the anger, grief, frustration and fear, releasing the heat in a constructive way… 

     Because the truth is—even if your chosen candidate won last night—we won’t always feel victorious; we won’t always feel like the winner. Any time we have a goal that feels impossible or insurmountable we run the risk of losing; it is humbling and infuriating to lose. But each time you lose, you gain another opportunity to win. As someone who has their natal Mars in Leo, I understand this transit’s deeper message, its inner yearning and tougher lessons. One of those lessons is dealing with loss. Losing can feel like a personal attack, an insult to our ego and pride; humility is not something Leo loves to suffer through. But stewing in feelings of insult and fury don’t do us any good.  

     That said, Mars in Leo can help us channel our fuming funerial feelings—the anger / grief / frustration, the loss—into a new goal, a new purpose, a new way forward. To win, we have to first feel the bite of loss; we have to feel those stings to our pride and our purpose, we have to be humbled, and we have to honor our anger by listening to what, exactly, we are angry about. And then we have to do something about all of that. Humbled, but no less determined, we have to use our feelings of pain and frustration, our sadness, disappointment, and anger as fuel towards the next achievement. Not from a place of revenge, but from a place of purpose. Purpose to do better, purpose to clear a path and to do some good.

     Mars in Leo wants to act, wants to propel a goal or movement forward. But it also encourages us to have faith—faith in ourselves and faith in tomorrow, to roar with confidence and to give confidence to those who need it. Leo is ruled by the Sun, and the Sun is a shining beacon of promise. We wake up everyday knowing the sun will shine. Again. Again. We wake up knowing we will feel the warmth of the Sun again. So that’s what I hope you take away from Mars in Leo. Mars in Leo is resolute. It is strategic, focused, and forceful. It teaches us the strength of our power, our courage, and our resolve; it also underscores the importance of leading proudly, boldly and with so much light. As I was writing this, Vice President Kamala Harris gave her concession speech, and she talked about this light, saying: “The light of America’s promise will always burn bright, as long as we never give up and as long as we keep fighting.” So, that is what we all must do: never give up and keep fighting. Proudly, boldly, and with a clear purpose for good.

Yearly Tarot Reading 2025 🎏 - Gemini Sun/Rising

Meditation: You were this sun 🌞 emoji, specifically, on a regular piece of paper, and someone was erasing you with a pencil - which freaked you tf out, you protested the whole time. I like your reading, it’s…light. Not heavy. Last year was probably heavy, it has its own messages still coming through like this year is a continuation of that or you’re still dealing with it. You have Aqua & Leo both inverted, which aren’t the signs but what they represent - Aqua with The World is showing Pluto changing signs, which is good for you, and Saturn as well - moving into Aries at the end of May is much more compatible with your energy, but energy doesn’t change overnight and The Hanged Man shows a lot of “hanging around,” needing to see things from another perspective - which is what’s carried over from last year as well, just differently, I’m hearing. Half the year you could feel paused, or be seeing things in one way, especially regarding your career. After this shift, things are lighter.

This perspective shift could come from some information or news about something brand new. This isn’t something you’re resisting, in fact you could be the one sharing this news or information in the first place. This is the perspective shift that The Hanged Man is regarding, the same card is reversed to clarify - showing last year’s lessons taking effect and working in your brain in some fabulous 🥳 way - which you’re applying to your job. What that is, I’m not sure. Could be technical, I’m seeing AI being a factor for someone, updated tech, more info, faster, higher productivity, social media presence - that’s the lane I’m seeing. Heavy on the communication. I mean that could just mean you suggest team meetings or something - more communication being the goal - and everyone gets on board with that. Could be small but it packs a big punch. For most it feels like you being the one creating this, with The Magician, but if not you’re still a central part of making something a success. Specifically - your perspective, and with that I’m seeing all sorts of lanes you may be attempting to move towards. Like a consultant? Some of you may start a side business doing something tech related, marketing tools, social media development, something with phones 📱, developing an app idk. Someone may work at a call center, or in sales, someone calls people a lot. Whatever this change, or “seed” is, it’s very positive and you’re encouraged to move forward with it - it’ll put some pep in your step.

So last year, it’s not super specific so it’s different for everyone, but it’s showing an ego death, with Psychic Development, Contest and Separation. That’s showing only you would know what it is, it’s personal, but there’s been some competitive energy that’s kept you separate from a group. You could feel unappreciated, unheard, undervalued, or not taken seriously at work - maybe others have been recognized but you haven’t. I’m hearing that “you can’t compete where you don’t compare,” and that applies to all sides of whatever makes you feel challenged, not you specifically. I’m also hearing “everyone wants to rule the world,” which…pretty sure that’s a song, but I’m not hearing a song 🤷‍♀️ That’s going to change this year, eventually, because you’re going to see this differently. Last year something had you in your pride and ego, you could’ve felt rejected in some way - once that shifts, things get lighter, there are opportunities, and The Magician shows if you’re not the one creating this (most are), then Spirit or someone is creating it for you. It’s like oh…it’s okay now that the last two things didn’t work out because this thing is perfect. Or someone gives you feedback that changes everything about how you’re approaching something with work - your viewpoint of it. Even just making something more convenient.

For love, The World is the end of a long cycle of some kind, and it seems directly correlated to work and what’s going on there. If something is made easier at work, it’s a lot less weight or time on your free time - the perspective shift applies to everything. Things get lighter at work, and lighter at home too, the whole mood and energy of the reading lifts significantly and is airy, brighter, more free. Uranus enters Gemini in July, you could feel flashes of inspiration and brilliance in spontaneous or sudden moments - probably introspective on most levels, or even digesting the words & thoughts of others in a new way; it’s like with each planet moving, more doors of potential open up for you, and all of it is positive. It feels like last year was heavy inner work and now you’re in this paused state while you’ve moved from inward questioning, chaos, shadow work - into surveying your surroundings and wanting to apply this to your external environment - but maybe you’ve been doing that in a competitive way or with the wrong intention, like a get-back or something. Or other people/situations have, could be that too. If you’ve lost a job, person, home, even yourself on some level, this inner Conflict and ego death surrounds that. Feeling unimportant for whatever reason has clouded your judgment towards what’s possible for you, when this is showing actually quite a lot is possible 💚

If you’re single, you may not be by the end of the year. I also don’t see deep commitment, it’s not rings and stuff unless you want rings and stuff 💍 but there is genuine love that’s mutual, a lot of flirty communication and again - light & airy. Suddenly you’re not working overtime or the late shift anymore, there’s more time to date and be with your person. The most difficult aspect of this year are the squared nodes to your sign, being 4th and 10th House shows a work/life balance issue that honestly doesn’t look like it’s going to be that hard to deal with - because it’s the things outside of you shifting that changes your perspective and allows you to move into the directions you need to move. How much of that is even conscious…it’s a waiting game. But a good one, with a great outcome or development on the horizon that’s going to change the reality of your current situation for you on all fronts 💚

Full Moon in Gemini December 14th, 2024!!
