Flawless finish, per usual. Maia finished at the top of her class; as a result, becoming the first recipient of the Levesque Medical Trust, a grant that pays for top medical students to pursue their specialty - as well as offer opportunities to shadow professionals already in the field.

Her mother, Jai is over the moon, but not surprised; Maia has stayed focused and has done everything she’s asked of her. The big question now is: should she tell her mother the whole truth about her and Elsa, or just let it float until after she gets her degree?

As for Elsa, she’s already told her family about Maia and they can’t wait to meet her in person. Her father Bjorn and her mother Clara have always taken a rather casual approach to parenting; they feel that children need space to discover themselves. As for their relationships? They trust them to make the decisions that bring them joy.

When it comes to her education, Elsa has decided to study Eco Science to make the world a cleaner, safer place. She hopes to partner with her father, eventually to help him reduce the carbon footprint of his builds, innovating things like water and energy conservation.

Devi is very excited to be in the principal company at BLab this year; it will be a challenge to do that and keep up with her studies, but she feels she’s up to the task. The good news is, her work with the company will provide credits to her degree as well.

Her Daadee Geeta and her Mama Alcina are pretending to be OK, but their acting skills are terrible. Devi gets it - it’s to be expected when the baby goes off to Uni. Luckily, they have the grandbabies to keep them distracted. Her Paapa Raj just keeps cooking; he’s been prepping food for her to take to the dorms - his special way of showing love.

As for dating? She agrees with sister Saanvi - the right opportunity will present itself in just the right time.

Aquib initially moved in with his brother Mehdi for his education, but low-key to get away from their strict parents a bit. While Mehdi allowed him to be a little freer, he did stress the importance of a good foundation. Together they came up with a compromise – Aquib will be studying medicine, while minoring in holistic medicine - that gives him a chance to pursue his interest in nontraditional forms of healing. That should also appease his parents who can then brag that their son has a degree in medicine. 

As for Devi, he believes he’s making progress; after all, she’s agreed to be his date to his brother’s wedding 🥰

After a lot of searching Geeta Rasoya has found the lounge entertainer sim. It is Baako Jang and he's hiding in the pool and refusing to come out and play the piano! (He stayed there treading water for almost the entire time I was at the lot not even swimming around)

Raj may be a successful chef at one of San My's most popular restaurants, but his ever-critical mother worries about when he's going to find a nice girl and carry on the family line. He doesn't know how to tell her that the only 'honey' he wants in his life right now is the ingredient. Growing up with a food critic as a mother means the pressure to do well is already on. Can he handle the mounting stress to start a family as well?

Part 2...two months late 😅 The funny thing is, these captions have been written since the end of April! I wish I had a better reason for the delay other than work, life, and lack of motivation, but unfortunately, I don't. I'm excited to share Part 3 with you soon! It's the last part of the foster mothers' episode, and if you read Part 1, you can probably guess what's going to happen in it.

Side note: when taking these screenshots, I bizarrely decided to test out a new Reshade to see if I liked it better. Unfortunately, I didn't, and it kind of messed up the vibe of the pictures. I had to do a lot of editing to get these pics looking as normal as possible, so if they look a bit different than my previous episodes, now you know why! In the future, everything should be back to normal. Sorry about that!

Episode 5: Mother, Mother - Part 2

Scene 3 - Petting Zoo, Newcrest

[Evelyn arrives at the Newcrest Petting Zoo with Bobbie, her niece.]

Bobbie: This is the coolest place ever, auntie! Thank you, thank you!

Evelyn: My pleasure. Feel free to check out all the cute animals. Just make sure you stay where I can see you.

Bobbie (sprinting away): Wheeee!

Evelyn: Bobbie, wait!

[Evelyn begins to check out the animals.]

Evelyn: These animals are pretty—wait, is that llama looking at me?

Geeta Kaur (walking by and waving): Evelyn, hi!

Evelyn: Geeta?

Geeta: In the flesh! Lovely to meet you outside of emails and video chats. How are the teens doing?

Evelyn: Honestly? Pretty good! Didn’t expect them to adapt as well as they have.

Geeta: As for you and Audreyanna?

Evelyn: She’s good, too. Slightly frazzled. And me...well… (scoffs) Perimenopause, classroom politics, the usual. It’s nothing, really.

Geeta (concerned): Doesn’t sound like nothing.

Evelyn: I don’t want to take up too much of your time.

Geeta: Perish the thought. I’m practically prehistoric compared to these animals. My grandson has likely forgotten that I exist.

Evelyn: You sure?

Geeta: Of course! Social work has made me quite a good listener.

[The two sit down on a nearby fountain.]

Evelyn: I almost feel embarrassed for even thinking about these things. But after two months with these kids, I expected...well, I don’t know what I expected. More? For them to need me?

Geeta: They do need you, Evelyn. Even more than to give them a place to lay their heads at night. Irving’s got his diagnosis, Wes is struggling to stay on the right path…

Evelyn: True, true, but they don’t like to talk to me about those things. I can barely get a word out of either of them. And take Chloe—the girl has every second of her day planned out. I’d love to talk to her as a woman, you know? Ask her about life, crushes, college. I don’t even know if any of them are going to prom!

Geeta: Hm, that is tricky. You can’t make them talk to you—you can only show that you’re a safe person for them to confide in. (looks down at her phone) Here—I have a forum that I recommend to all of my foster parents. Should have told you and Audreyanna about it ages ago. It’s a great place to find support when you need it.

Evelyn: Thank you, Geeta. You’re the best.

Andrew: Thank you, but I think I'm okay. I'm Andrew, in number 18. I moved here a few weeks ago.

Geeta: Nice to meet you, Andrew.

Andrew: Nice to meet you too.

Andrew: Hm?
