Conspiracies Thoughts on Enchanted Origins reread

Griffith is absolutely a shapeshifter of some kind. 90% of his appearances relate him to a wild animal or theres a dog that appears right before or right after hes there (he also calls Rebecca Firefly which is just adorable and also fitting)(and also the dog getting chased by the caravan kids gets its own picture for no apparent reason. A dog gets chased again and literally a paragraph later griffith appears and is out of breath and complains about kids these days. You do not see the dog in the caravan after this, but griffith is right there for a while)

Rebecca will maybe (hopefully) become a timeweaver. Significantly less evidence but it would be cool and also fitting since we dont know what magic (if any) she has. She already knows embroidery, so she has some knowledge and interest in fiber arts, was automatically drawn to two different pieces of moonthread in the space of a week (and only one of which that actually had memories relating to her) and showed interest in meeting jiselle, despite knowing that she is a “reclusive sociopath” and its a ridiculously rare ability that would sense for a magical protagonist to have

not a theory but Cinderella is literally insane. She really just went and set a whole forest on fire to catch two preteens who were presumably wanted alive by the only person that is more powerful than her. She and Gavin are meant for each other. Still has immaculate fashion sense though, can’t wait to see her again

apparently having library fines is punishable by having a bounty put on your head. If i lived in Avena and also wasn’t vitamin deficient i would be a librarian bounty hunter. Those who commit book crimes will feel my wrath

yeah being betrayed by her new and only friend sucks and getting kicked out of your new land sucks but at least on earth, unlike avena, they have running water and therefore showers, which must feel Excellent after a week of backpacking in the wilderness

i hope the next book starts in some way with rebecca getting hunted by the assassins. Though to be fair i mostly want to see Cinderella “after ten seconds of deliberation of hunting these children i will set an entire forest on fire” try to deal with rush hour traffic

Gather Ye Rosebuds Day with Pre-Raphaelite Sisters Emilie Autumn and Veronica Varlow By Carolyn Turgeon

I wish all of you could have been there last summer in Baltimore, when I whisked BFFs Emilie Autumn and Veronica Varlow in all their glittering fabulousness from their hotel to NV Salon in the neighborhood of Hampden, where they got glammed up thoroughly enough to embody the spirits of Victorian supermodels Elizabeth Siddal and Jane Morris in our sumptuous cover shoot. As said glamming took place, Emilie gave us all the “trashy beauty parlor gossip,” as she calls it now, about Lizzie and Jane, “which is, I’m sure, what it was at the time they were living.” She told us about the “open affairs”—that is, the “loads of drug use, burned suicide notes, exhumed poetry (and wives), and glorified overactive thyroid glands.” What better way to spend an August morning?

Of course, Emilie knows plenty about these ladies and their time period, which fuels so much of her own art. And by her art I mean her writing, including her novel, The Asylum for Wayward Victorian Girls, and of course her virtuoso violin playing, and the subjects she chooses to sing about—she has released four studio albums, including Opheliac (2006) and Fight Like a Girl (2012), and her worldwide concert tours have featured handmade Victorian-influenced costumes and elaborate, over-the-top stage shows including a troupe of corseted dancing girls, of which Varlow was one of the main attractions.

The shoot took place at Baltimore’s Cloisters Castle, where we lugged pots of roses, racks of clothing culled from various designers and vintage dealers, a few historical instruments, and a stack of inspiration photos I’d printed out the night before. While Emilie wasn’t Lizzie in every shot, and Veronica wasn’t only Jane Morris, they channeled those two superpowers while we scrambled to do as many shots as possible within a few hours, racing up and down those spiral stairs with pomegranates and apples, silver mirrors, old books of poetry, and an endless supply of scarves and dresses slung over our arms. The result is on these pages.

Below, we talk to Emilie more about all the above.

Enchanted Living: Can you tell us about your relationship with the 19th century? Why does this period resonate with you so much? Emilie Autumn: I’ve always felt that the 1800s are around Elizabethan or even 18th century portraits and think, This can’t possibly have been real—it’s like a fantasy world, or an alternate universe. But we can see ourselves in the Victorians. Certainly the fact that photography came into being during that time doesn’t hurt. But I think we can relate to that time of incredible social and political upheaval, technological invention, and, of course, industrial revolution, because it hasn’t stopped—we’re still in it, racing forward, hurtling onward and wondering what is going to become of it all. Essentially, the Western world became recognizable as the one we now inhabit, complete with the daring idea that we didn’t just hatch on the planet 6,000 years ago as fully developed humans.

So, if you’re a lover of history and a seeker of your roots, the 19th century is where you go to find yourself. If you’re an out-of-the-closet Anglophile like me—I’m full-blown British in my mind—who sincerely doesn’t understand why cravats can’t be an everyday thing, then it is Victorian England specifically. It’s close enough to identify with but far enough away to fantasize about. And that, I think, is precisely why it’s such a great world to tell stories in.

In my novel that really started the association between myself and  the Victorian era, the protagonist manifests an alter ego that lives in the Victorian world as a way to process what is going on in her own reality—a sort of therapy through escapism, something I’ve done since I was a child but taken to a literally psychotic extreme. And finally, I should say that it’s a fun world to play in if you have a wicked sensibility because there is a very dark underbelly to the corsets-and-tea-parties culture, as the novel illustrates—London was filthy, diseases were rampant, and women were considered subhuman and treated accordingly. There is little to glamorize, but that won’t stop us from trying and enjoying every minute of it.

EL: Why is this period relevant today? What overlaps do you see? EA: I suppose all periods are relevant if there is something still to be learned from them, and I do think there is much to learn, particularly from the areas in which we have not progressed nearly as far as we should have. My iPhone camera is amazing, but we are still a global patriarchy.

EL: Can you talk about this shoot? What did it mean to you? EA: I was truly honored to be asked to represent these iconic paintings. I have loved each of these works since childhood and modeled myself after them to a conspicuous degree for most of my teens and into my twenties. Lizzie Siddal is the reason I originally dyed my blonde hair red at sixteen, parted it in the middle, and proceeded to grow it down to my knees. I don’t believe that anyone who might know of me now is aware of that, so it’s fun to say out loud! This shoot was more than a fantasy come true, it was also a return to a more innocent version of myself, before the corsets and striped stockings and asylums, even if just for a day. It was good to see her again, and I think that a bit of her came back home with me. I am very grateful to Enchanted Living for that.

EL: Do you relate to the women of the Pre-Raphaelite movement? EA: What is so wild is that when I developed my Pre-Raphaelite obsession as a child, I had no inkling of the truly astonishing stories of these very real women—the world’s first supermodels, some have said—and what their particular kind of beauty meant. I didn’t know that they were very largely ill, extremely poor, and, in Lizzie’s case, fatally depressed. Having learned so much more about Lizzie since, I feel an overwhelming compassion for her. An artist and poet herself, she suffered horribly from mental illness, and it was either ignored or misunderstood to the point where she ended her earthly life at thirty-two. As the subject of mental health is such a dominating theme of most of my music and writing, the connection would be impossible to ignore, and I definitely tried to commune with her the day of our shoot. Not all of the paintings I was a part of re-creating were originally modeled by Lizzie, but she is the one I was channeling.

EL: You’ve written about poetic figures like the Lady of Shalott and Ophelia. What do they mean to you? EA: Well, the funny thing is that, in my song “Shalott” as well as “The Art of Suicide,” which of course alludes to Ophelia, though not by name, I was writing about Arthurian and Shakespearian characters respectively but was referencing the Victorian painted versions of them in particular. When I was much younger, my passions were medieval history and Shakespeare, and those are actually what drew me to the  Pre-Raphaelites in the first place—these Victorian men were painting the women I already loved. Isn’t that bizarre? I hadn’t even really put that all together until just now. I think that I was always drawn to the tragic stories when I was young because they reflected my own melancholy and mental issues but with flowery language and better hair. I saw myself in these characters—they were my pain beautified, and they gave me a gift, inspiring me to intentionally beautify what adversities would come to me as the years went on and life was lived. That is what I still do—it is the basis of my whole career, and it is also the best advice I can share with anyone struggling with anything. Find a way to turn this into art of any kind, because then it is transformed and nothing is wasted.

EL: Can you describe your relationship with Veronica and how you two worked together on your stage show? EA: The first time I met Veronica, I ran into her arms. We shared a Kit Kat bar and had a mutual vision of our past life where we had been married. (She was my husband and I was burned in a theatre fire, but that is another interview.) Veevers has taught me so much on stage and off, saved my life a few times, and has been a massive part of the best experiences of my entire recorded memory: singing and dancing together for thousands and thousands of beautiful people all over the world. I don’t even know where to go from there. There is love and then there is love. When I learned that we would be working on this ere both powerful muses and in the same tiny artistic circle but not exactly friends—for those who don’t know, Jane always had a thing for Lizzie’s husband, Rossetti, and after Lizzie killed herself, Jane finally got her man—I had this idea: What if some universal consciousness energy engineered this opportunity for these women to reconcile and to even become friends, knowing that they really were all in the same boat, in a really screwed up era, being told how to look and what to do (Get in this freezing bathtub, Lizzie!) just to eat. What if Veronica and I could offer these poor girls a little of our sisterhood? I hope they felt it. And I hope they’re friends. I bet they are.

EL: What does sisterhood mean to you? EA: Everything.

EL: What inspires you? EA: Theater. Watching people do things live and making an audience cry and plotting all the wicked ways in which I could do it. Sondheim lyrics. Watching people dance and thinking of how I could transform that movement into a sound and what instrument would it be. Backstage at Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. Sequins. The squirrels in Central Park. Untold stories.

EL: How do you stay enchanted in your everyday life? EA: I do my very best to exist in the present moment, knowing that the present moment is all there is and all there will ever be. When you begin to grasp this truly, every moment becomes precious and valuable and has potential for magic, because you become very, very grateful. And when you become grateful for life, life becomes grateful for you. If you take in the truth that every moment you experience took 13.8 billion years to create, it’s almost impossible not to feel the magic in that. Also, I don’t go on social media unless I’m posting something positive and then I get right the hell off again, and I don’t use my cell phone as an excuse to not look around at the world I am actually in. Oh, and I promise myself to never fall into the trap of believing that what is on the news represents what is important in the world. It almost never does.

EL: Can you tell us what you’re working on now? EA: Yes! First, I’ve just gotten in the second printing of my oracle deck called The Asylum Oracle. It is a truly magical spiritual tool that I created to help people (and myself) connect with their own internal wisdom to gain truth and insight,  with an emphasis on healing and transformation. What I love most is that each of the fifty cards has a sort of meditation that goes with it, an invitation to really enter another world to bring back the wisdom you need in this one. The Oracle can be found at asylumemporium.com. And second, I am in New York developing the epic musical production of The Asylum for Wayward Victorian Girls. I’m in the midst of orchestrations, and I’m about to go write some oboe parts. Born August 14, 2025 (a month early) yes, you read that right, they aren’t even born yet, we are looking for Dom and Isolde’s future children who have traveled back in time to meet their parents, bringing their own personalities, powers, and secrets with them.

Before we get too far into the kids, let’s give a little background on Dom and Isolde. Their relationship is anything but conventional. Dom had been pining after Isolde since he was a teenager, always begging for just one taste. It wasn’t until he one night in 2019 that they actually met in person and he finally got ahold of her. What started as a strictly physical, no-strings-attached dynamic slowly turned into something deeper, despite their resistance.

Dom, the lead singer of Vortex of Ashes, has a history of reckless behavior, substance abuse, and pushing people away before they get too close. Isolde, wickedly smart, sharp, and unyielding, has always matched him fire for fire. They spent years pretending they didn’t want more — until they couldn’t anymore. Now married, they are expecting twins and Dom is far from ready to be a father.

So why have the twins come to the past?

The answer to that question is really up to whoever takes them. Something could possibly be wrong in their future, and their very existence could be at risk. Or maybe something happens that changes Dom and Isolde’s future forever and they aren’t sure if they can stop it, but they have to try. Honestly, it is completely up to you what their reasoning is. One thing is for sure though, they’ve come back to this point in time for a reason, though they won’t say why. They know more than they’re letting on, but revealing too much could have dangerous consequences.

I think in every universe and every AU Gavin like to dress up his partner(s) and show them off.

In the prime universe he takes them shopping and makes them try on a lot of things they'd never buy themselves. He'd make them put on a little fashion show at home and then will be helping them pick outfits for going out.

In the Imperium that's of course not possible, but if we take the cottagecore!witch!AU he's definitely sewing clothes, magically colouring fabrics and decorating it for the humanborn. He also probably makes them jewellery out of wood.

In the Mob!AU he showers everyone (but the freelancer the most, of course) in expansive clothing (suits and dresses), jewellery and watches, the best leather gloves and shoes. He takes them to the fanciest galas and speakeasies, so show off that they're the most fashionable mafia family in Dhalia. The Solaires compete.

In the Royalty!AU he obviously fusses before every ball, masquerade or other event to coordinate everyone's outfits, the colours, the fabrics (silk, velvet, lace, embroidery etc.), the gemstones in the jewellery and so on.

In the Ancient!Greek!Monsters!AU he brings the gang stolen sacrificed/gifted to him gold and silver decorations (and special ones for Huxtaur's horns), soft expensive togas and chitons and makes them wear it all (despite Damien's grumbles about it being impractical).

In the Wild!West!AU he always brings everyone little gifts of questionable origin, whenever he goes to town alone he brings back a colourful kerchief, new shiny spurs, a few feathers to put on one's hat, some bright laces and so on and so on.

In the Oblivion!AU he brings people amulets and rings and fine robes and people usually react by thinking they're enchanted and for protection and skill enhancements, and while some of those are, most are just pretty of which Gavin is happy to inform them.

Milestones

Having read almost all of Gavin dates in season one (and all in S2, that Cheri translated), I think I can pinpoint the certain milestones of MC and Gavin's relationship. In three specific dates, they confess their romantic feelings for each other and also tell each other directly that they want to spend the rest of their lives together...as always...spoilers ahead

MC’s Love confession

MC has been building up romantic emotions towards Gavin ever since they’ve met again at the Loveland police station and Gavin has swept her off her feet for the first time...figuratively AND literally.

This one is very easy to pick because during this date, MC is not only fangirling over Gavin but also shouting her feelings out loud in public as well as confessing them to him...loud and clear...I am talking about the “Slightly drunken date”.

As to her more instinctual urges...They have been growing since the moment she saw him like this for the very first time:

“...than reappeared at his exposed waist and abs...As I reached to touch those scars (around his abdomen)... a different feeling arose in me“. That different feeling arose in all of us MC ;)

So once the slightly drunken date came, MC was overflowing with an ocean of emotions for Gavin for a while so she confessed to him:

“No more talking! Just listen to me! When I said that, I meant it. Not about the bass playing, but you. I like the gift you gave me, I like the bracelet you gave me. I also like that love letter that I never read. I want to see more sides of you...When you’re eating, when you’re sleeping, when you’re happy, when you’re sad, when you’re wearing a tuxedo, or red in the face from drinking.

All of it! I want to see every side of you”.

Gavin’s Love Confession

First things first...The question which should be ask before anything is...Has Gavin fallen in love with MC once his Evol awakened or was it an already ongoing process until that specific moment, on which Gavin realized he is in love with her? I think he has been observing MC for a while and was already enchanted by her kindness and beauty way before “the fall" into his Evol-awakening.  

As for Gav-babe’s instinctual urges...I would say, Gavin realizes them during the Shooting Date when he sees MC in a very revealing dress for the first time and she asks him to unzip her, in a very tight space, with the lights out...Our poor birdcop cant help but have naughty thoughts and wonders why MC asked him to do that for her :) I love this man to the moon and back

When he got verbal on his feelings however was during the “Spring Festival Date”. Not only he confessed to MC and her family that he used to have a crush on her during high school, but he also opened up about his honest feelings about her, which are extremely heartwarming.

“I have a very strict father and a brother I seldom see...I don’t even know when I turned into such a loner. Eating alone, sleeping alone, doing everything alone...until I met her. It was a beautiful autumn day. The gingko leaves were floating in the wind. I was also going through a pretty dark time. But she saved me before I hit bottom...It’s she who told me I could live a stronger life. And it’s also she who told me I could live a more tender life. I never felt lonely before, until I met her. I started to get used to star-gazing with her, having dinner with her, spending the New Year’s with her.”

and this part he tells twice...once in front of her family and once while they are alone afterwards to prove that those words were genuine:

“In the future, I will give it my all to stay with you, to take good care of you, and love you.”

Yep, he drops the big L word <3 

“I wanna make up for all the times I wasn’t there“

After all, he’s waited a long time for that day to come...And when that day was finally there, he would make sure to confess to her.

Btw in both occasions out lovebirds were slightly drunk. And on a side note, my very first date with Gavin was the Spring festival date, so you could guess why I am so smitten by him and why there isn't any chance for the other LI’s to dethrone him.

Moving on to second phase...

MC’s future plans

The first time I read @cheri-translates​ English translation to the “Late Autumn Date”, I literally fell off from my chair by the intensity of this highly emotional and extremely spicy date. The date takes some time, but when Gavin and MC gets it going, holy cow it hits you hard!

I will intentionally not dive into the hot spicy details of this date and how they finally make out passionately at Loveland High. Sure both Gavin and MC are overwhelmed with nostalgia and oxytocin, but it’s once again MC’s time to gush out about her feelings for Gavin but this time, she tells him how he is her past, present and the future. MC promises her all to him and if that’s not a hand in marriage yakusoku then I don’t know what is. This again is a very long confession, so brace yourselves:

“ …we seem to have really missed out on a lot.  I’ve thought about a few things since a very long time ago. For example… cheering you on at the basketball court after school. And then proudly telling the entire class that the name of the tallest and most accurate shooter is ‘Gavin’!  Back then, there was a small stall outside the school gate selling red bean puffs. $3 for one, $5 for two. It was crispy on the outside and sweet on the inside, with a generous amount of filling. You’ve definitely not eaten it before… We used to have late night self-study sessions and were only dismissed after 9pm. The girls in the same class would find company to walk with. If you were there, you’d have been able to send me home.  Piano lessons were way too dull. Once I sit here, it would be for several hours, playing the same song over and over again. Sometimes, I’d think of going out to have fun - to go shopping, sing karaoke, eat all kinds of good food, or do my homework while having a drink in a small shop.  Also, the 800-metres physical test was literally my nightmare! If you were there to practice running with me, I wouldn’t have passed only after my third test.

If I could be with you back then… my deepest memories in high school wouldn’t have just been of exams.

– we missed out on a whole six years! Even if we want to make up for it every day, it wouldn’t be enough even if you spend a full twenty-four hours with me!

I cling to his waist tightly using my calves, wanting to brand every part of him into my heart.

“I want to bear his everything.”

Gavin: “Do you like it?”

“I like it…I like it very much…I like it so much that I don’t know how to prove how much I like it” “The rest of my life is yours, The years that we’ve missed out on are also yours” (whatever I have, I will give it to you. I will give everything to you, leaving nothing behind)

Gavin’s Future Plans

Here comes the tricky part, because there is not only one single date yet, where Gavin is seriously telling MC in length about his future plans. However there are soo many moments in various dates, events and Co. that implies to Gavin's proposal plans. Actually, I feel like the S2 Gavin dates revolve around the phase in their relationship, when things start to shift from a long term relationship to we're gonna get married soon.

Sure, Gavin told MC also in S1 many times, how he wants to spend the rest of his life with her.

Looking at all these moments in S2. I believe it will be more eminent to see, how his future plans get more concrete:

- Every time he says "We" specifically in Puppy love call "Yes, we"

- Every time he say "In the future"

- Third year anniversary (testing the waters)

- From Afar Date (already has the gem)

- Old Haunt Date (their future home)

- Beautiful Future call (their dream of living in a Shangri-la when they grow old)

Even though Gavin hasn't told MC his future plans in a Monologe like she did directly, I believe he is adamantly planning about a proposal and I expect in his birthday in 2021 something that hints to a concrete proposal.

Looking at the familiar “Fureai Land” entrance, I suddenly began to regret it.

Confession Tournament is begun, and I’m here to going date with Gavin. It sounds warm to say this, but I felt something different...

I hear a squeak and my thoughts are interrupted. For the first time, I noticed there’s a squirrel at the entrance.

That squirrel sat on the branch in the cage, holding a large sunflower seed. He looks smiling.

MC: I’ve never seen your face but, are you new in here?

I crouched down and talked to him, but the squirrel didn’t even look at me. As soon as he finished eating the seeds, he threw a piece at me.

MC: He, Hey! You’re so impolite!

Gavin: Sorry, I’m late. Finally the mission over.

Looked back, Gavin was standing behind me. When looking at my angry face, he is wondering.

He turned his gaze on the squirrel in the cage and the seed splinter on my clothes, he laughed and took the shell.

Gavin: Don’t bully my girl.

Gavin kindly said so, and for some reason that squirrel immediately jumped off the branch and quietly foreheaded.

MC: Does this kid, understand our language? Wow!

Gavin takes my hand and let me up. There’s a big smile on his lips.

Gavin: Alright. Let’s get in.

Once we went inside, I greeted the attendants as usual and guided Gavin to the front of the fence.

A few puppies quickly approached me, and scented my extended fingertips.

Gavin: Do you often come here? These kids, seem to love you.

MC: I’m coming to see these kids if I have time! I’ll introduce them to you. This is Hana, this is Mikan...

MC: Oh, yeah. There’s a big dog in the back, just like Flyer!

The corridor leading to the backyard is a little narrow, and just two people can pass it side by side. As I walked alongside Gavin, he held my hand firmly, makes my hands warm.

Look at the pictures of the dogs on both sides of walls. I hesitated a little, but still couldn’t hold back, so I asked Gavin.

MC: Gavin, I came here on my own but, I thought maybe you didn’t like it...

Gavin: How could it be. Why do you suddenly ask something like that?

MC: Because...wait. You know what event we’re doing now, right?

I suddenly thought. If I was Gavin, I may not care about event information at all.

When I said that and suddenly noticed something, I hurriedly saw Gavin.

Immediately he pulled my arm, and hugged me by his warm chest.

When I was at a loss, a burning-like fiery red rose flower appeared in front of me.

The rose wasn’t very shiny, probably because it was in his pocket all the time, but there was a clumsy cuteness in it.

You wake up a few hours later, feeling much better after resting. You feel for Tom but only find cool sheets instead. You sit up and then you hear the shouting. You walk out of the bedroom and follow the shouting towards Tom’s study.

“I told you not to disturb me today Percy!” Tom shouts, his voice full of rage. 

“I know Minister but it’s important-“ Percy begins but Tom cuts him off.

“More important than the health of my mate?!” He roars, slamming his fist onto his desk. Ok, time to step in, you think to yourself.

“Tom?” You whisper as you gently push the door open.

“Baby girl what are you doing out of bed?” Tom questions rushing over to you and cupping your face in his hands.

“I missed you...and I heard you shouting,” you reply.

“I’m sorry love. I didn’t want to leave you,” he shoots Percy a harsh glare. “But someone decided to ignore direct orders.”

“Sir, I would never have done it if this wasn’t of the highest importance,” Percy says in a timid voice.

“Nothing is of greater importance than my mate.” Tom hisses furiously. You place a hand on his chest to try and calm him down. 

“Percy, what’s going on?” You ask.

“Gavin Grindlewald has attacked again. He and some of his followers killed and tortured a small muggle village. 15 Muggles were killed and another 30 were driven mad by the Cruciatus Curse.” Percy reports looking mildly ill.

“Why didn’t you say so sooner?!” Tom shouts as he pulls you closer to him.

“Minister I-I would have but-“ Percy stutters nervously.

“He would have if you would have given him a chance to speak. Instead, you shouted at him for no reason,” you reprimand Tom and he throws you an annoyed look.

“You’re right,” Tom sighs looking down at you and then he looks back to Percy.

“Have we captured any of the supporters?” Tom asks Percy.

“We have seven in custody. Five of them have confessed and we are waiting on you to determine what you want done with them. The other two are keeping their mouths shut. The five who confessed all claimed that there were two others plus Gavin there torturing the Muggles.” Percy responds.

“Give us a minute Percy. I’ll meet you at the Ministry in a little bit.” Tom dismisses him. Percy goes to the fireplace and floos off to the Ministry.

“I’m so sorry Little Witch. I have to go in,” Tom apologizes, watching you with concern.

“It’s ok Tom. I understand.” 

“I’ll send for James and Sirius to keep an eye on you. I don’t want you left alone right now.” 

“Tom I’ll be fine-“ he cuts you off before you can finish.

“I don’t care. You got kicked by a unicorn today and I’m not leaving you unattended. Plus if Gavin is back in the UK I don’t want you unprotected. Gavin despises me and would do anything to get to me. I’ve been working for years to unite the Wizarding community in the UK. Gavin, like his father, wants to tear it apart.” Tom explains before conjuring his serpent Patronus and sending a message to James and Sirius. 

“Shouldn’t they be out there hunting Grindelwald? They are probably the two best Aurors we have?” 

“That’s why they will be guarding you. You are the most important thing to me, if I am to do my job properly I need to know you are safe. Potter and Black are the best ones to ensure that.” You sigh but nod in agreement nevertheless, knowing you would never win this argument.

“I’m not sure when I will be able to come home. It depends on how things go. I want you to stay here until this is figured out, no Hogwarts. I will have Percy arrange tutors for you if you still wish to continue your education.” Your head snaps up at that.

“What do you mean ‘no Hogwarts’?” You ask in a dangerously quiet voice.

“Exactly what it sounds like.”

“We had a deal!”

“Yes but when we made that deal you hadn’t been injured on campus and Gavin Grindelwald hadn’t just attacked again!” He hisses back straining to keep control of his temper.

“It was an accident and it wasn’t even that bad! I’ve had much worse! And you have nothing to suggest that Grindelwald would come for me!” You yell, no fucking way was he going to decide this for you.

“Exactly! You’ve been hurt worse before on campus! There’s even more reason for me to say no to you going back! And yes I do! Grindelwald has always attempted to get to me. But he never could figure out a good way to before. No that I have announced you as my soulmate he has an in. A way to get to me, YOU!” Tom explains running his hands through his hair in frustration.

“Tom-” you start to argue but are cut off by the puff of smoke in the fireplace. Sirius walked out of the fireplace looking deeply concerned. Then a few moments later James appears with the same worried look covering his face as Sirius.

“Minister,” they both greet bowing their heads slightly.

“Potter, Black. You have been informed of the situation I trust?” Tom inquires, turning his attention to them.

“Yes, Sir,” The two Aurors reply in unison. You were taken aback for a moment, you had never seen James and Sirius look so serious.

“She is not to leave the grounds, preferably the house, until I get back. I will be arranging tutoring for her and will keep you informed of the situation as it develops. Give us a minute now will you?” He asks dismissively. Both men nod and exit the study quickly.

“I’m not to leave the house? What the fuck Tom?!” You shout enraged. Who the actual hell did he think he was? 

“I said you were not to leave the grounds. And though I would prefer you to remain in the house you may go outside if you wish,” he replies, clearly clueless as to your anger.

“I may go outside?! I am not to leave the grounds?!”

“Yes,” he responds looking slightly confused by your rage.

“You don’t own me, Riddle! I’m not a puppet for you to control!”

“I never said you were!” He shouts back bewildered.

“You can’t force me to stay here! I’m going back to Hogwarts just like we originally agreed to.”

“That’s where you wrong darling,” he replies with his signature smirk taking over his face.

“What do you mean?” You were the one who was confused now. 

“I already took care of the possibility of you leaving without my blessing,” he says, eyeing your left wrist. You look down and see a cuff bracelet that you hadn’t noticed until now. It was silver and had the initials TMR carved into it. 

“What the hell is this?” You hiss holding your wrist up to him.

“That, my love, is a binding bracelet. I’ve been working on it since we met just in case we found ourselves in this position. It binds you to the grounds making it impossible for you to leave the grounds with it on, whether by force or willingly.” He explains looking quite pleased with himself. You growl at him before trying to pry the bracelet off, but no matter what you do it refuses to budge.

“You won’t be able to remove it, my love. It’s been enchanted so that only I may remove it when I choose.”

“Take it off Tom,” you hiss ferociously. How dare he chain you to the house like a pet?

“No, I will not remove it until I can be sure you will be safe,” he refuses as he collects his briefcase, cloak, and wand.

“I understand you are upset about this but please remember I love you. I’m just trying to protect you, my Little Witch.” He whispers leaning down to press a soft kiss to your temple.

“When will you be back?”

“As soon as I can. I love you,” he responds before walking to the fireplace and grabbing a handful of floo powder.

“Tom,” you say before he can disappear.

“Yes, love?” 

“I love you too. Be safe.” You might be angry with him but you knew he was going off to hunt Grindelwald and would be in danger. You couldn’t let him go off without letting him know you love him.

“I will darling. You stay safe too. I love you, Little Witch,” he replies before dropping the floo powder and vanishing.

Disney+ Cancels Gay “Dads” Series Before It Begins

Disney’s streaming service, Disney+, will not be going forward with their sitcom, “Four Dads,” which would have told the story of four gay dads (two divorced and remarried to new partners) raising their two teenage daughters.

The series would have starred (above left to right) Ed Weeks, Gavin Creel, Cheyenne Jackson (Hades in Descendants 3) and Tuc Watkins.

It was also announced today (Sept. 9) another Disney+ series will not go forward, the comedy “Muppets Live Another Day.”  It’s unknown why “Four Dads” was canceled, but the Muppets show reportedly had creative differences between the writers and Disney executives.

Disney+ recently pulled the plug on several other series that had been in development: “Book of Enchantment,” based on a popular book series about Disney villains, and “Sulphur Springs,” a kids series which began as a pilot for Disney Channel.  “High Fidelity” was moved to Hulu due to having subject matter that was too “adult” for the family friendly Disney+.

“Book of Enchantment” reportedly succumbed to its dark storylines and its cost.

Other Disney+ shows have survived this purge (so far): “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” “Love Simon,” and “Lizzie McGuire.”

According to Deadline, “Disney+’s upcoming High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, switched showrunners and made creative changes earlier this year in part because the original showrunner was looking to tackle more adult themes.”

A while ago I was talking with a friend about what it’d be like if aa was a jrpg, and now I have an AU, which I’m calling Turnabout Tales! Three guesses which game series it was inspired by.

It spans the entirety of the main series, but for this post I’m focusing on aa4, specifically Apollo, Trucy, Ema and Klavier! You can find more info under the cut!

Note: I came up with quite a bit concerning the world, but I don’t want to make this too long, so I’ll keep it to ajaa-relevant stuff (There isn’t much main plot here though. Pretty much all descriptions are pre-Turnabout Trump)

The world

Dikaios

A kingdom divided into six districts: Oures, Antora, Valasi, Kurain, Demortan and Patheri

Each district is ruled by a duke or duchess, except for Oures, which is ruled by the king or queen of Dikaios.

Demortan: District most removed from the king’s domain, after Kurain. Used to be ruled by the Gramaryes, but is now being ruled by Kristoph Gavin. Known for its talented mages. Despite its harsh ruler, its criminal underworld has been growing steadily

Magic

1 in every 3 people has the ability to use magic, though innate power varies from person to person

Magic commonly draws from the four elements; water, earth, fire and air. It is possible to use magic that isn’t immediately linked to a specific element, but because elemental magic is easier to perform, that’s the most popular practiced form of magic. 

Magic related to enhancing a person’s natural abilities, their senses or healing wounds is a risky type of magic, since it’s basically altering someone’s body. Practitioners must have years of practice under their belt to decrease the risk of accidentally harming someone with their magic.

Healing spells are often bound to talismans and the like, to decrease the risk even further (intense emotion can negatively influence magic)

Spirit channeling still exists, but it’s incredibly hard to do

Staffs, wands etc. can be used to assist someone in using magic

Apollo

Born in Demortan, but adopted by Dhurke after Jove died in Khura’in

Was returned to Demortan after the rebellion started

Because Dhurke didn’t have any contacts in Dikaios who were able to take care of Apollo, Apollo grew up in an orphanage, which is where he met Clay

Once Apollo became too old to stay in the orphanage, he began looking for a job

Clay, who was moving to Patheri to become an assistant to a famous inventor, offered to take him with him, but Apollo declined

As Apollo grew older he noticed the danger that was lurking beneath the surface in Demortan, or at least part of it. He wanted to find some way to make positive changes, but there wasn’t much he could do at that point 

After a year or so, Apollo was taken on as a squire by Kristoph, who’d happened to notice his wit and speed several times that year and thought he’d be a useful knight 

He’s owned the gauntlet with the decorations around the wrist since he was a kid, but after he became a squire and could afford it, he bought a semi-matching one

The gauntlet helps him perceive people’s tells, but it has also been enchanted to improve the wearer’s reflexes  

Wields a short sword, though he’s a decent fistfighter as well

Unable to use magic, but he understands how it works

Still takes the time to do his hair every day and often refuses to wear helmets because of it

In his spare time, he likes to read in the castle library

Trucy

A very talented mage and performer traveling together with her dad in hopes of finding a reliable patron

Born while the Gramaryes were still in power, but when they disappeared, she was left behind, and adopted by Phoenix, who had lost his knight status not too long ago

Able to use very advanced magic

She picked up the basics and a few other things while still living with Zak, and practiced a lot by herself afterwards

Phoenix taught her a couple of things too

Her staff used to be vital when practicing, but now it simply provides her with a bit of extra power

Despite being great at magic, she loves performing magic tricks and puts as much effort into learning them as in learning actual magic

Occasionally performs said magic tricks at taverns or any other place that would let her perform

She usually uses her most unique tricks for those performances, otherwise people would just accuse her of using actual magic

Ema

Amateur alchemist trying her best to be recognized as legitimate

She’s great at making all sorts of potions and elixirs, though she prefers coming up with new ones, with mixed results

She has a habit of being careless with her concoctions, which is why she hasn’t been officially made an alchemist

She’s also blown up at least two buildings by accident

Her coat is a novice alchemist’s coat, and a gift from Lana 

Whenever she started to grow out of it, she would adjust it so it would still fit her

Originally from Oures, but left to study in Patheri, ending up in Demortan after she kept causing accidents

Makes a living by selling salves and healing potions, though she sells her own creations to those interested from time to time

Able to use magic, but doesn’t care much for it, and as a result doesn’t know much more than the basics

Klavier 

Lives in Demortan’s capital, but he travels around the district a lot 

Aware of the rising chaos in Demortan.

He knows there have been more and more violent incidents and criminal acts in recent months, but he isn’t aware of their true extent, nor of the cause

This is partially because he travels so much, but also because Kristoph intentionally keeps him from finding out

Is almost as much in the dark about how Kristoph came to power as the majority of Dikaios�� citizens

Makes music in his spare time, either by himself or with Daryan

He often does it in public places, so others can get to enjoy the music too

Well-known amongst nobility and commoners alike 

Nobles know him for being a knight and Kristoph’s brother, commoners know him for his music

  Owns a full set of armor, but only wears it when he needs to

Armor is heavy, and Klavier prefers to be mobile in a fight

 He also has a lot of confidence in his skills and experience

The times he wears armor are the only times he uses any weapon other than a dagger
