Anna Gasteiger, Anna Sophie Meyer (1878-1954) pintora alemana.

Nació en Lubeck, Alemania y mostró un talento temprano para la pintura.

Después de estudiar en la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de Múnich, comenzó a exponer regularmente en Múnich y Dresde.

Es conocida por sus bodegones de flores representados con pinceladas vívidas y distintivas y una paleta luminosa.

Mathias Gasteiger, un respetado escultor que fundó una escuela de escultura y pintura en el castillo de Deutenhofen, cerca de Dachau, conoció allí a su futura esposa, Anna Sophie Meyer.

En 1902, ella y su esposo, construyeron una casa en el distrito bávaro de Holzhausen am Ammersee.

Esta casa se convirtió rápidamente en una especie de colonia de artistas, ya que la pareja acogía numerosos festivales y exposiciones.

Mathias Gasteiger murió en 1934, y la señora Gasteiger vivió con su familia en Holzhausen hasta su muerte en 1954.

En su casa de Holzhausen, Baviera, en el llamado jardín situado en un bello entorno, hoy alberga un museo.

Hoy en día, la casa y su mobiliario Art Nouveau permanecen prácticamente sin cambios, sirviendo como museo tanto para sus pinturas como para sus esculturas.

Participó, entre otros: en la Exposición de Arte de Dresde (1899), expuso en el Glaspalast de Múnich (1912, 1916, 1917) y participó en las exposiciones anuales de primavera de la Secesión de Múnich (1910, 1912).

Murió en Munich, Alemania.
