Garp once got cussed out by Sun's personality au Luffy when he had seastone on and Garp didn't know how to react.
OHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOH--
Garp saw Luffy, drenched an tangled in the seastone net, and he wasn't making a sound. Garp didn't care to notice, he marched over to where Luffy was sat on the ship deck and covered his fist in a bit of haki, before punching the kid in the head.
Instead of rubber Garp's knuckles hit a solid skull, Luffy's head snapped down with the force, his teeth clacking together and his head didn't bounce back like it was supposed to. Luffy didn't whine, or yell or even cry. He just sat there. So Garp broke the silence. "You brat! This is what I get for raising you?! You're still a damned pirate!" He went to, because it was easy, he'd said it a hundred times before, he'd likely say it a hundred times again. He didn't bring up anything, he didn't mention that now, Luffy would never be a marine - now that his parentage was out.
Luffy finally raised his head, and Garp almost relieved at the return to normalcy; he was about to yell about how he was gonna be a pirate whether Garp liked it or not, and whine like a kid about not wanting to be a marine, just like back in the good old days when Garp could fit all three of his grandsons in one arm.
"You didn't raise me. You killed the man that raised me." Luffy grit, and the eyes that met Garp's were not grumpy, or even teary like when he last saw his grandson on Ace's final stage. Luffy was looking at him in a way Garp hadn't seen in a decade, the way Ace used to look when he thought too long. Hatred, grief, mistrust, the kind of look you had to earn.
Garp's teeth grit in turn. "Ace made his choice--"
"You made the choice to get in my way. Don't you dare accuse Ace of deserving what happened and don't act like I'm a child who doesn't understand exactly what you chose." Luffy hissed, his whole form shaking, his face pale and his pupils pinpricks. On his knees he was the same height he was when Garp would ruffle his hair and carry him when he fell asleep, but now Garp faced a man.
"I swore myself to the marines--"
"You were the closest thing Ace had to a father!" Luffy yelled, trying to get to his feet but his eyes glazed over and he fell to his knees again. He was breathing harshly. "Maybe it's a pirate thing, maybe it's because I'm a outlaw but I would have given up every oath I have if it mean't Ace kept his promise to not die! I would have sold myself to the marines in an instant if it meant Ace got the chance to live the life he wanted!" He barked. "But that's not justice, is it? Justice is hunting children, shooting down free men and bowing to the masters who would take your life because all they've ever known is to take! I hate you!" He thrashed in the seastone net, but it did nothing.
Garp stared at the man that used to be his brash, weepy grandson. The man who used to beg Garp to train him more if only to stay on the island a little longer. The man who used to come back to Dadan's with large bruises, broken bones and a smile because he got just a little closer to Ace that day. The man who loves so completely and unconditionally he doesn't mind bleeding for it. The man who couldn't lie. The man who said he hated Garp, after his love ran out of excuses.
Garp looked at the man, truly looked at him past the resemblance he had to Garp's youngest grandson.
Because his grandson, the only one he had left, was gone.

Hi! Hope you are ok <3. Could i request a Kuzan x Reader? Where Reader is kidnapped by kuzan and Reader and kuzan are ex lover? Please and Thank you ❤️
Okay, here it is! Kuzan is one of my favorite characters from One Piece, so I'm excited to write for him!
The interesting thing is that on my Character Ai account there is a Kuzan bot with the same concept, so I hope no one minds if I take advantage of this opportunity.
You are the daughter of the Celestial Dragon and, like everyone else from your kind, they decided to place a guard next to you.
Your guard is a member of the Marines, Kuzan. Vice Admiral Garp advised him, saying that his assistant showed great promise despite his laziness and would definitely be able to protect you.
You were very skeptical and became even more so when, upon first meeting, this Marine smiled at you and said: “Nice tits, Your Majesty. Would you like to go on a date with the great Vice Admiral’s henchman?”
It’s surprising how he wasn’t fired or killed on the spot, but he continued to be your security guard.
Over time, you got used to each other. Despite his laziness and bad first opinion, you could talk to him about many topics and it was just interesting to be with him
Later, you both came to a silent agreement: you would read books to him from your huge family library while he rested, and in return he would use his abilities to cool you down, because the weather on the island was often hot, and would listen to you.
So from an awkward first impression, you both moved on to silent friendship, and soon to sad love.
The problem wasn't that the feelings weren't mutual. No, you and Kuzan knew that you loved each other and you knew that it was mutual.
The problem was that your relationship would not be accepted. He didn’t care what the World Government or your family thought, but if you lose the title of Celestial Dragon, you will be in great danger, you could be sold as a slave or killed as revenge on your family, and Kuzan was unsure that he would be in time at the right time.
So the next day after you exchanged confessions and kisses, he left. He left you a note that he was being sent on a new mission and he was sorry that he didn’t get to say goodbye, but it would be better for you.
Of course you were upset, but your father didn’t care and a week later they announced that you were marrying a marine of a higher rank than Kuzan.
...
..
.
..
...
...You slowly opened your eyes and realized that you were in the hold of some ship. You wanted to move, but you heard a clanging sound and noticed that there were shackles on your hands and feet. You took a deep breath and tried to remember what happened before. Reality hit you like a steam locomotive as memories flooded into you. Your island was attacked by pirates and not by some newcomers, but by Blackbeard himself and his crew. While your husband and his army fought bravely against the pirates, you tried to escape to a safer place.
But suddenly the entire island was covered with ice and you, unable to escape normally, were captured by one of the pirate’s henchmen. Your thoughts were interrupted by the creaking of the door opening and you turned your head. You gasped in surprise and stared at the tall man, whom, despite so many years, you still recognized as Kuzan. He became taller, more massive, stronger, and instead of one of his legs you noticed an ice prosthesis, and there were many burns and scars on his body. While you were wondering what happened to your longtime lover, the former Marine smiled and came up to you, sitting down on the same level as you. He took your warm hand in his cold one and kissed your knuckles.
"It's good to see you again, Your Majesty."

Monkey D Urpi headcanons (source: Oda shared it with me in a dream)
- She’s gotta be atleast 6 or 7 feet tall for logistic reasons yes but also because Tall Women ❤️
- Idrk how face claims work but I imagine her to look something like Simone Ashley
- As all other members of the Monkey family do, she’s got a scar on the left side of her face
- A tattoo that wraps around her wrist, almost like a bracelet
- Her and Garp are 2-3 years apart in age (they’re beating the weird age gap grandparents allegations fr)
- Hips length hair. At least 25% of Garp's paycheck gets put into hair care, hair ties, combs/brushes and lint rollers, he'd never ask his family to change but god does it get EVERYWHERE.
- She was the one to make the first move officially (had asked Garp to accompany to a cafe she had gotten a flyer to, face turned away to hide the flush settling on.)
- Big reader, mostly on the varying plants and ecosystems of the different islands on the Grandline and occasionally dips into the mythology of the Blue Sea (just to see what else they got wrong)
- Do not bring up Noland the Liar around her, whatever’s in her hand will shatter and she’ll begin to mutter very quickly under her breathe
- Skilled fighter but actively hates having to fight. It’s less about being scared for and more perpetuating a cycle, violence will only bred more violence. It has its uses but she’d rather not use it at all
- Garp made the mistake of asking her to join the Marines exactly once. The look she gave him was so venomous the topic of enlisting wasn’t brought up again until Dragon was born.
- Has possessed Mantra/Observation Haki from incredibly an early age and developed Armament Haki through training with Garp
- Instantly goes into mother mode around younger people. Physically cannot help it. She just has to dote on them. Definitely takes it up a notch when she’s grandmother age
- Would certainly approve of the ASL's dreams of being pirates/revolutionaries. Who is she to stand in the way of their search for Freedom?
- She and Crocodile get along swimmingly! They discuss mushroom foraging and she shows him all the best for it on Elbaf!
- Consistently refers to Kuzan as her ‘second born’ before someone (usually Sengoku) reminds her that she did not in fact birth him. She would agree and then do the same thing the very next day.
- Big fan of the newspaper since it keeps her up to date on the happenings of her family. Keeps all issues they are mentioned in pristine condition and chronological order.
- Gets intense waves of guilt for ‘leaving her people behind’ and would often wonder if she deserves that happiness she found here.
- Has no inherent ill feelings towards Gan Fall anymore but definitely didn’t like him back then. She’s still a little taken aback when Luffy mentions what a help he was during his time in Skypiea
- Is relentless in her pride of Dragon and everything he has accomplished. She had watched him grow from a sweet little boy who cried when a Den Den Mushi had to be decommissioned to a man who was out to save the world. He is her every wildest wish come true.
Taking down these notes because I might just have to put her on a canvas at some point.
Some additions I would also like to add!
- her surprising proficiency for Mantra/Observation Haki was inherited by Dragon, and she helped him train it.
- When Dragon found her on Elbaf (and let’s say after the WG falls to hell where it belongs) he makes time to take her and Garp to Shandora to hear the Bell that their grandson reclaimed.
- While up there, she reunites with her little sister Nina, and meets her grandnephew Wyper.
- she always had mixed feelings about Dragon joining the marines, but she understood his heart was in the right place. Shame the rest of the Navy couldn’t say the same.
- Dragon’s desertion was a hard time for everyone, but they all knew it was inevitable. Her boy would climb higher and higher in the ranks, and his eyes would have less and less of their warmth. By the time he attained the rank of Admiral, there was hardly anything of her sweet, gentle soul of a son left. It tore her and Garp’s heart to shreds.
- Dragon’s desertion was a planned thing. He had been stationed at Ohara to oversee an expedition, and he had seen the archaeologists be given bounties for the sin of doing their job. He showed up on his parent’s doorstep in the dead of night to tell them he was going to have to be on the run from now on. Urpi gave him her earrings. They are the only thing she had left that had survived her fall from Skypiea and her journey across the seas. They would go with him now on his journey.
- The bounty posters that had been released of Nico Robin following Ohara’s destruction gave her pause. Dragon had mentioned working with a Nico Olvia during this expedition, this child certainly looked like her mother if you looked at the bounty posters side by side but… her complexion, the coloration of her hair… a quick tally of the dates and she can’t help but wonder if she inherited her father’s wings, too.
- when she saw Dragon again after so long, she hugged his neck. His eyes were warm again. He had his hope again. It was tempered with Nika knew how many trials, but he was still the loving little boy with the downy wings that she sang to sleep every night so many years ago…
- she was intrigued by Crocodile. She had heard these “devil fruits” could do wonderful things, but to change a body to match the soul within it… it was incredible. To know her son had helped set this man on that path to change made her wings fluff up with pride. She wishes she could have met Olvia, too.
- after coming to Elbaf, she NEVER covers her wings. She cuts holes in the backs of her clothes for them to fit through, sews clothes using patterns and stitches she knows by heart… as much as she lover Garp, Goa had been stifling. Upon seeing the cuts and mends in the backs of Dragons shirts when he visits, she can tell he suffered the same.

Round 3, Match 13: David Wymack vs. Dadan
Submitted kids:
David Wymack: Kevin Day (biological), Andrew Minyard, Aaron Minyard, Neil Josten, Dan Wilds, Nicky Hemmick, Matt Boyd, Renee Walker, Allison Reynolds
Dadan: Luffy, Ace, and Sabo
Propaganda under the cut!
David Wymack:
1. “He purposefully made a college sports team to take in fucked up kids and give them second chances. He gave them a home and support when no one else would. And he's sooooo grouchy about it, like he doesn't love these kids and fight for them every second of every day. For fuck's sake, he adopted his ex-girlfriends son when he was escaping major abuse before he even knew he was ALSO his OWN biological son!!! The woman he loved had a kid and he took him in without hesitation and he didn't even know! He didn't even know!! Wymack fights the media, the college courts, the legal courts, the fucking Mafia, all because he loves his kids and knows they deserve more than the world has ever given them. I wish Wymack was my dad. DILF of the year”
2. “- He is the coach of a college sports team
- His team is comprised only of kids who need second chances
-This team is entirely found family
- He works very hard to make sure these kids get a chance to shine
- He gives second chances. And third chances. And whatever amount of chances you need
- He once spoke to a therapist about one of his athletes, saying "I trust you to do what's right by my kids"”
3. “His whole thing is literally adopting the children who have had a messed up childhood. The violent ones and the ones who runway from stability. Without spoiling the series he gives Neil a place to live without question. He cares for all the the foxes (the sports team he coaches), and gives the opportunity to change and find family.”
4. “He just wants them to get the second chance he never had!!!!”
Dadan:
“Dadan didn't even WANT these kids, goddamnit! She's a small-time leader of a gang of mountain bandits, she didn't want some big-shot Vice Admiral rolling up to her and blackmailing her to take care of his shitty grandkid and the son of the Pirate King! Then those little brats had to make friends with another homeless brat and now she's got three kids to take care of!
But despite them being a handful, she loves those boys. She raised them, bathed them, fed them. She ran into a gargantuan inferno to save Ace and Luffy, then she and Ace fought a pirate captain together. They won, but Dadan suffered horrible burns. When they heard about Sabo's murder, Ace was about to run off to avenge him before Dadan stopped him and told him to get strong before he even thinks of dying.
When Ace left to be a pirate, he sent a letter thanking Dadan, and she broke down in tears. When Luffy left to be a pirate, he told Dadan he hates bandits but likes them, and she broke down in tears again. When she heard about Ace's execution, she pushed past her fear of Garp to beat him up for not saving his grandson, crying in sympathy for how Luffy must be feeling. When she heard about Luffy's return, she celebrated.”

3, 17 and 23 with ASL brothers and dadan bandits!
I love their little family so much so this was fun to write. Sorry it took me song long to get to it. Anyway here you go:
Dadan had never cared much about celebrating Christmas. When she was a young child it had seemed very important and exciting but the older she got it really just lost its magic. Decorating the house and some cookies seemed like a complete waste of her time so she just didn’t do it. The most Christmasy things she did were occasionally getting a gift for someone and egg nog with rum. She didn’t need any of the other crazy traditions that were meant for little kids, and she didn’t have any and she figured she never would. The Christmas decorations that her parents left to her along with the house set their collecting dust as she forgot that she even owned them. It went this way every year at Christmas until one year something changed.
When Garp dumped Ace with her she’d been furious. She had no intention of having children and didn’t want this one either. Unfortunately, as time went on Dadan found herself unwillingly beginning to care for the stupid brat. He caused problems and was a handful, but despite all that she somehow cared. When he was five she made up her mind that maybe she could do a little on Christmas and started to give him a small gift each year. She never did anything more than give him a gift and say Merry Christmas and really never intended to until something changed again.
Somehow she got two more little brats. Garp dumped his grandson with her and the other had turned up out of nowhere. They caused trouble just like Ace always had but at least the blonde one was normally polite. They also often worked together to bring in fresh meat for the family. Just like with Ace she grew fond of the boys against her will. She hadn’t been planning on doing anything more than usual for Christmas that year until she overheard the boys talking about it.
They were sitting near the fire in the living room and probably didn’t even know she was listening. She often paid attention to their conversations when they were within earshot. Those brats gave her a good laugh sometimes with the crazy things they said, but today their topic was Christmas. Sabo had offhandedly mentioned it was almost Christmas and Luffy looked confused.

I hope this doesn’t sound very demanding, but do you plan to post the Heart and Anchor update today ? I’M SORRY BUT I’M JUST SO EXCITED
I'm so glad you're excited! Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to finish it, and I've got a busy week ahead so I'll be posting it this weekend! But here's a snippet while you wait<3
Sensing that she was leading towards something, Shanks didn’t interrupt, watching as she fiddled with his wanted poster, before Makino said, “Ben let slip once that you were in the Pirate King's crew.”
His grin was startled. “Oh did he now?” But seeing the intrigue in her eyes, felt his smile soften, as he told her, “They were my family.” Then, “I didn’t mean to keep it from you,” he said. “Or my bounty. It was just…nice, I guess, to not be defined by anything but who I was here.”
Doe-brown eyes watched him, as gently as ever. And even if she hadn’t known, he wondered then if she had seen more than most.
“How much do you know about him?” Makino asked him then.
“Captain Roger?” Shanks asked. “As much as anyone knows about their closest thing to a parent. How much do you know about Garp?” When it didn't budge her serious expression, “I know the important things,” he said. “What kind of man he was, and the things he valued. What made him laugh.” He smiled, remembering. “There was a lot that went over my head back then, and a lot they didn’t tell us. Things I learned later, but then maybe that was for the best.” He cocked his head, curious. “Why do you ask?”
She didn't answer right away, her hand worrying his shirt where it draped over her belly, as though she was unsure of how to broach the subject.
His gaze lowered to the wanted poster, and the bandaged fingers curled around the sheaf of paper. And he'd wondered why she’d bring up Roger, but felt a sinking fear then that he knew what she was about to say. That like his wanted poster, and the discovery of just what kind of pirate he was, his association with the Pirate King only served to underline the risk she'd face by her connection to him. That it would be too dangerous, and that the next time it wouldn't be an auctioneer on the doorstep of her bar but someone worse, and that they really were better off if he left and cut all contact, allowing their daughter to grow up without any ties to him.
And to think, he hadn’t even told her the full truth about who he was.
But then, “He has a son,” Makino said, as Shanks went very still. Her voice was calm, even as it felt like the world shifted when she told him, “Gold Roger.”
His voice when he found it was hoarse.
"What?"

IMPORTANT PORTRAYAL NOTES
i won't lie. my portrayal is different than what you would expect from what the sources from which ace is from. manga / anime comes and what happens to it pre - timeskip and post time-skip. while i have important details listed in my pinned's meta masterlist and also in my carrd, i talk about it i know that some facts can be overlooked ( which is no problem ) so i seen other blogs do things like these, and i find it helpful to list a pill of the canon's blog in shorter version for easy understanding of what to expect on my blog. what's listed is my personal analysis, changes and what is incorporated in replies within the one piece world. triggering content ahead so be warned. any character mention does not have to apply to the muse that you play. you don't have to as a writer acknowledge these things / we can come to terms or i don't mind going canon vanilla if you don't wish to acknowledge these portrayal infos. i don't mind worldbuilding facts along with other people as well and in fact, it'd be happy to do so. for more info click the links under certain sentences ! or head to my study directory in my pinned.
001. rouge didn't die right after ace was born. i don't like that fact, i don't like it when people speculate that ace was over a year old before he left his mother's belly. that's just supernatural to me. there's nothing said that rouge was anything but normal. and the risk of death for a child who is longer in his mother's body than 40 weeks rises really high. ace would have died if rouge had kept him longer than a month over the estimated birth peroid. while i understand that she wanted to defend him with this was never said to be risky, it is. rouge held ace in her womb for 2 week more before his birth. that was enough time for garp to secretly transport her to a safe place on one of the islands on the south blue. she gave birth to ace and raised him for 3 more years before her health began to deteriorate. before her death, she entrusted ace to garp.
002. ace was 13 by the time he met luffy. the reason for the outstretched timeline is to fit the fact listed above. ace was raised first by rouge before he even got to foosha village. ace is older and it is also the reason of my canon being tied to the canon with another's person's muse ( law ). he was more destructive to himself than he was to sabo or luffy. when yes, he was indeed a bitter child after growing up to understand what happened to him, why he is here and why the world stands closed to him with a wall, he didn't blame anyone but himself for it and his grief, anger wasn't taken out as much on luffy as he was taking it on himself.
003. your muse has obviously no prior knowledge of his past. all that is known is that ace is a pirate, his name is portgas d. ace and his alias is fire fist ace. since forever his identity has been hidden by him at the cost of everything. the first person to ever know who ace is, who his biological family is, is sabo and then deuce. the fact that ace is roger's son didn't come to light ( for the public ) until ace was thrown in jail and then sentenced to death which he avoided. only whitebeard and certain members of the crew ( marco, izou ) knew about who he really was. his priority was and still is to talk as little as possible about himself, where he comes from and the only parental figure he adheres to is whitebeard. ace considers him his only father, because he has no memory of roger. he doesn't hate his biological father to the point of disrespect. he just thinks he owns him nothing.
004. ace is a hunter and gambler first and pirate second. living for a really long time in a forest that was like a real jungle. filled with predators, snakes, crocodiles. everything you can imagine, ace fought to survive, ace hunted to be able to bring meat back to dadan to be able to feed, to be useful in what he does. he has incredibly sharp instincts. he has insane tracking abilities, knows how to hunt and follows his own hunting code. he doesn't harm the first better animals, he's not cruel to them. ace in fact connects very much with animals, and they resonate with him just as much. his gambling addiction began in his early teens when he played to win money with adults in the gray terminal, in taverns placed within the goa kingdom to earn his and sabo's common goal. he would steal from people, pirates. but the card game was becoming something he was really good at. his addiction can be cruel, and ace is really serious when it comes to gambling.
005. post - timeskip when ace underwent rehabilitation from the damage he sustained after the war over marineford he learned to use haki. like luffy and his crew ace spent his days training, improving his own health and mentality. his haki empowered ability of the mera mera no mi he mastered is called ' the fudo myoo ' in short, a god of fire. much like luffy's gears, ace extended the power of mera mera no mi thanks to his hard training. the fruit's awakening ability is called the demon inferno, allowing ace to create fire-like creatures that are independent but controlled by ace and his flames. are a living part of him and have inherited behaviors and abilities ( eg. agility, speed, strength, combat ability ) that ace observed in animals during his life as a hunter / during his voyages and adventures over the seas.
006. ace has narcolepsy. which is basically a sleeping disease. he finds it hard to stay awake for long periods of time which causes him to fall asleep suddenly and randomly. he sometimes experiences muscle tone which is basically caused by strong emotions such as anger, sadness and excitement but most of the times laughter is the strongest case. there's no cure to this disease and since ace doesn't really have medication for this to at least keep the symptoms in check it appears pretty frequently in his case. most of the times ace falls asleep while eating because, when the meal is rich in carbohydrates and protein which are essential to build up strength he gets an uptake of tryptophan from the protein and then an increase of serotonin. eating also causes blood sugar levels to rise, which can lead to a decrease in energy and the more he feels tired the easier it is for his narcolepsy to trigger suddenly.
007. ace is depressed. maybe he doesn't look like that at first glance. when someone meets him ace seems to be an incredibly kind, carefree and confident person. and yes, he is exactly like that. however, ace also has some problems with his mentality that were born when he was a child left behind within the walls of the goa kingdom. he also struggles with a lot of insecurity when it comes to his relationship, self-worth and survival trauma after the war. ace post- timeskip doesn't resemble himself in some aspects that happened before the war. it changed him, the way he had to live changed him. what happened between luffy and him changed his perspective about a few things, about his will to live. he wants to live, he finally understood that he doesn't want to die. he wants to live, even if it is a sin. even if his existence is hell on earth, he wants to live because luffy proved to him that despite who ace thinks he is, there are people who love and loved him.
008. ace is indifferent heat or high temperatures. they are completely indifferent to him, and he would most likely feel a change in temperature only if something were hotter than his orange flames. ( these flames reach around 1,100°c to 1,200°c / 2,000º f to 2,200º f. ) otherwise ace does not feel a change in climate, temperature-wise would be logical considering when he was moving through the deserts in alabasta his clothing was completely black. as is well known, black or dark colours attracts heat and sunlight but it made absolutely no impression on him even when he spent hours in the bare sun in the middle of the desert.
#「009」 𝗠𝗘𝗧𝗔𝗦#「002」 𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗘𝗥#/ long post#wee wooo it's long but not as long as my whole canon for him so this is like all the important info u should know < 3#i'll reblog it also later for diff timezones

One Piece Chapter 1087 - Initial Thoughts
And We Are Back!
5 long looooong weeks for Oda to acquire his eye surgery laser vision but now we can resume the Egghead arc well...everything but the Egghead arc it seems
Still we finally get a manga dose of One Piece so let's see what we have
Spoilers for the chapter, support the official release also
An Ace cover page this time, shame we didn't do anything with the laser eyes but Ace and Capybaras make up for it
In the G1 shipyard there are two navy ships whose hulls are dented, apparently known as 'battleship bags' which Garp trains with
Jango and Fullbody are surprised that this is Garp's daily routine, but also that the second ship was Aokiji's!
Also these dents are caused by brute strength, no fruit or haki
Reminder too that Navy ship hulls nowadays are layered with Sea Prism, so I think this is the first instance we've seen of Sea Prism being weathered
I get that this dude has been present in the post TS Navy exposition but where's my man Bogard?
Back to Fullalead and Wolf is already in the drink
I mean Garp just tossed the mega-giant into the water like Thames Water dropping sewage
Vasco's next for the attack with a fireball
That's cold Garp, using the lesser pirates as a shield, but I guess since they're not your allies it's not morally ambiguous
Garp ain't even fazed either
Garp's fighting has managed to get all the slaves and marines back on the ship to escape
Oda my man, why did you bring Tashigi if you're not letting her do anything???
Coby, Helmeppo and Grus are fighting with Garp still, but the plan is to fall back
Aokiji's back and he didn't hear no bell
Garp gives the orders for the trio to leave while he holds ground, but Coby spots a woman in danger and jumps in to help
But Grus senses it's a trap, and he's right
Garp steps in but eats a stab from Shiryu!
Garp says the wound is nothing but Coby's still on the guilt
I wonder how Shiryu is bypassing haki? because Coby is known to have great Observation Haki, even sensing enemies below surface level
Cross Guild were foolish enough to bounty Garp? Seems that Crowns are worth 1 billion berry (how does Buggy, Crocodile or Mihawk have that kinda cash?) and Garp has 3, on par with an Admiral...and his otherwise absent grandson
The redshirts try to swarm Garp but Aokiji tells them they still wouldn't stand a chance
Mini flashback of how Aokiji became Garp's protege, turns out Aokiji insisted him into it
Young Garp definitely looks a lot like Luffy
So Kuzan was like 'I've learned everything the marines told me' but didn't know Haki? I thought all Vice Admirals knew it
Joint training led to Garp just venting at Kuzan about his family
"You have a habit of raising enemies" - well 'raising' is used loosely
Double punches from master and student sends both men flying
Now Pizarro starts gloating, taking aim at the escape ship
Pizarro's fruit does just feel like an advanced form of Pica's fruit
Pizarro being annoyed with Blackbeard being on the news is interesting, wonder if there's like a slight bit of dissent among the crew
Hibari, much like Coby, is annoyed that she couldn't help, but gets some reassurance from Kujaku
Garp is hopeful justice will prevail though, as we're left on a cliffhanger
It's good to be back
This chapter could've been a lot more action packed I feel, but I'm happy with what we got. Glad Aokiji showed more fight too, because making him look strong works for both Blackbeard and Akainu as well. Also kinda glad that the other Blackbeard members got involved, seemed weird that they would just spectate.
This is a point where Oda could easily move on to another plot section though, which I hope doesn't happen. But I'd also like Tashigi to do something impressive and if she can do something similar to Zoro's feat against Pica to save the ship that'd do pretty nicely. Realistically thinking there may be some navy backup, but we also can't rule out Perona and Moria getting involved, since Coby only escaped because Perona gave him the keys.
It's been 5 weeks but Oda has us leaned back in

Well fuck Dragon! Au where he tries that bias bullshit on Crocodile and gets kicked in the dick for it while Crocodile just leaves with their son. Au where Luffy is the prince of Baroque Works and Robin is his bodyguard/best friend
I'm so sorry I lost this in my asks!!!
I saw that SBS that said Croc would spoil his kids rotten and yes definitely absolutely also timeline what timeline anyway
Croc left the RA when Luffy was abt 2 months old, Iva didn't want to directly betray Dragon so they started the half level in impel down and was down there for a while monitoring comings and goings and conveniently missing every letter their vice monarch sent abt Croc being stashed away on Peachy Island - he didn't Need need to but sailing on his own with an infant would be rough especially since most of his contacts were also connected to Dragon (and not completely coincidentally on Dragon's part) so he would be sailing alone. Peachy Island is also where he meets Bon Clay (13-14 at the time) and he becomes something of a son to Croc.
Croc and Luffy spend 3-ish years there before Croc decides he's not in fact done playing with fire and he wants to be a warlord so he can be a pirate with a respected home territory to keep Luffy and also because staying still so long made him Itch. Luffy spending 3 years surrounded by people with a bit more focus on vanity and identity mixed with being raised by Croc does mean that Luffy gets a sense of style! Croc does not allow jorts in his house :( so Croc forms a small crew with Daz (afab went to peachy Island to fight Ivankov for testosterone got a found family is still on the quest for T), Zala (Old Old contact I'm aging her up 20 years because reasons. She knew Croc back when he was still on Whitebeard's ship and is one of the few that doesn't care at all abt the RA), Bon Clay (Croc was hesitant to bring him but he could more than hold his own Croc made sure of that), Drophy (left Amazon Lily because she fell for a man but then she killed him teehee she was on Peachy Island for groceries mostly) and Galdino (his sister's trans and lives on Peachy Island he visits her and her kids sometimes)
They set out, Croc making a massive name for himself mostly by accident (he likes planning things but he can't help being cool) but then the marines strike a deal - if he can remain an active pirate while being targeted by the other warlords for 1 year then they'll give him the warlord title (it was harder to become a warlord back then) so Croc says deal but then secretly gets Garp to pick up his grandson, says in no uncertain terms that if Luffy gets mistreated Garp will never see him again and Garp humors him mostly but still agrees and takes him to Dawn. Meanwhile the hunt begins, the only current warlords are Mihawk, Doflamingo and Moria and Croc manages easily enough by seducing two of them and beating the stuffing out of Moria thrice. He only wanted to keep Luffy away because he didnt trust any of the warlords to not do any research and find his glaring weakness. Also because Garp had been nagging him for years to let him see his grandson (Crocodile doesn't like the seperation, he's very clingy in an Italian way)
So Luffy lands on Dawn, immediately calls Shanks crusty and says he smells like if you soaked a sock in booze, Shanks thinks he's the funniest little guy ever. All the Shanks stuff happens, then Croc comes back for his kid only for Garp to pull a fast one (and by fast one I mean he told Dragon abt Croc and Luffy and Dragon decided to fuck with the groundwork Croc was laying in Alabasta so Garp could hide Luffy better this was not coordinated the Monkey family is just rude) so Croc had to turn right back around to chase Dragon away and Garp threw Luffy up the mountain (Luffy knows his dad's coming back for him but he doesn't know how long it'll take since his dad's only late when something bad happens and he eavesdropped that what his dad was doing was dangerous. Ace asks how Luffy knows his dad isn't dead, Luffy doesn't have an answer)
While Croc is away he finds Robin and takes her in
By the time Croc can get back to Dawn Luffy has 2 brothers and a sister and Croc decides Dragon and Garp keeping him from his kid means he has full rights to take the three new ones also
When he starts Baroque works the kids are called the Wani's (after bananawanis because they're as cute and also as vicious as them to Croc)

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love 💗
Thank you so much for the ask @motleyfam and @fanfictiongreenirises!
Its hard to chose favorites but I would say:
The price of loyalty
Ace knew the consequences of his actions. He knew his choices could bring him here, chained in a cold cell, with the first person who told him his life was worth something taking him to his execution. Still, he made his choices. And faced with his adoptive grandson’s death, Garp also makes a choice. Or: Garp had been loyal to the marines all his life, but twenty years ago he disobeyed to save a child who didn’t deserve to die for being born to the wrong father. His stance on this hadn’t changed.
My first One Piece fic after going back to it. I really enjoyed writing it, I like the vibes, and I got great positive feedback, so it’s a win everywhere here.
To the ones who are alive, and the ones who are there
Dick had been found dead, his body floating in Gotham Bay, hours before. This could just be a simple story if he wasn’t banging on the door of Jason’s apartment. Or: When you wake up in a morgue, the first person to go see is your resurrected little brother. Whumptober day 31: experiment, left for dead
The last fic of my 2020 whumptober that I kept up until may 2022. While I didn’t do whumptober in order, I still wanted to start with the first one and end with the last one. So this idea had been in my head from the very beginning and I only wrote it at the end. I like how it turned out, even if sometimes I find it a bit OOC, it’s written with guts. It’s also my most popular story so far!
And I’ll look into your eyes to find out if I’m real
Bruce wants a lot of things. A bath. Seeing his family. Not having been missing for a whole year. He wants Dick to wake up and realize he’s not a hallucination. Whumptober day 6 – Stop, please.
I just like it. I have nothing particular to say here, but it was easy to write, and I really enjoyed writing it and how it turned out.
Knight in shining armor
Barbara never considered herself the damsel in distress type. But when men invade the clocktower, it’s a good thing she’s got a knight. A dark, silent knight. Whumptober day 3: held at gunpoint.
The idea for held at gunpoint had always been to have Babs in the story, but who would be with her changed for a bit before I settled on Cass. I really like their relationship so I hope I did it justice. They aren’t characters I write often, but I had a lot of fun writing this story.
New year bets
Dick doesn’t see what all of this is about. It’s just a case, keeping him occupied. Jason should stop his weird half teasing half worrying thing. Also, in retrospect, they probably shouldn’t bet on each other’s health.
While I don’t consider this one to be my favorite in term of objective quality of the story or style, it was definitely the most fun to write. The majority of it was written in a few days, I kept adding to it, it’s completely self-indulgent. It’s also very fun, and lighthearted, I think, and it’s nice to write something like that from time to time.
again, thank you for the ask !

//SPOILERS FOR 1083//
1 - The ✨ parallels ✨ between that cover of Doflamingo, Crocodile and the pug..., Oda be like I can excuse mass murders and dictatorship, but I draw the line at animal cruelty.,
2 - I relate to fujitora on a personal level, because if I had the possibility to blew up the whole place over every single inconvenience, damn right I'd use it 😭. Aramaki's gonna reconsider his life choices atp, man's got disrespect and stressed right and left since he had been introduced.
3 - Actually wondering why Oda brought back the whole CP9. Don't get me wrong, I love them and I'm happy they're here, but for a bunch of high treason criminals, they sure got rehabilitated easily. And spandam better run. Even if they got a massive powerup, well..., Lucci was supposed to be their strongest member and all, we saw the result against Luffy post timeskip.
Just a weird feeling that they, and Blueno in peculiar considering his door-door fruit, may have something to do with cobra's faith.
4 - Everyone hates the celestial dragons, but taking advantage of the presence of civilians to block your adversaries in fight isn't cool on the principle. And that's ok, but low-key looks like Akainu's justice lmfao 💀 the whole I don't care what happens or how I reach my ultimate goal, for one the annihilation of criminals, and the other freedom. Furthermore, we waited 25 years for RA to move, and their first big action is a literal war declaration 😭 monkey d. family just has to be extra.
5 - out of topic number 19900, but Vivi confronting Lucci's ass is such a great character development, go girl.
(thanks for copying with my crap ❤️)
nooo, I love hearing what people think of the chapters!
Fujitora's always been pretty big on doing his own thing and not really caring about what anyone tells him so I'm not surprised he thought the best way to deal with the situation was to just call down some meteors but somehow he keeps getting away with it...
I've been waiting since 2015 for an explanation as to how we got from the CP9 cover story to here and now I'm even more curious since they're all involved and I feel like knowing how that happened would make their motivations a lot clearer (though maybe that's why we haven't found out yet...) so I still hope we get some answers to that somewhere along the line!
There's this one screenshot of Sengoku during Marineford saying something like 'Garp! It's your damn family again!' and that's literally what this arc is because Garp, Dragon and Luffy are all wreaking havoc in different ways at different places simultaneously.
Oh you know Lucci hates the fact that he's somehow been given guard duty, especially considering what Vivi's like and that the last thing she's ever going to do is listen to him or follow his orders so he's not having a good time right now!!

PLEASE ODA LET US KEEP THE GRANDPA THE FAMILY IS SMALL ENOUGH AS IT IS ;___;♡
And honestly I've seen theories where Blackbeard wants to use him for his memories of God Valley (because he is one of the few people who was THERE and knows what actually happened, and YES I wanna know about it ffs but know by taking away some of the secrets Gramps has protected for so long????) since he also kidnapped Pudding. . . But also what if he uses Pudding to distort everyone's memories? Or Gramps?? Imagine if Blackbeard distorts Gramps' memories to make him foght Luffy in his stead????
Too many possibilities for angst and that is just the surface. . . I know it, you know it, and, worse, Oda knows it too (´༎ຶ▽༎ຶ`)
Honestly I can understand why people would NOT like Gramps, even if I do adore him because. . . It's a matter how of your interpret the implicit clues/subtext, and depending on where you stand, you can reach completely different conclusions
I love Garp because he does care for his family.
Many people will say that yeah if he cared he would have been there more often, would have told Ace more things about his family, or would have intervened in Marineford but...
What if him not trying to help Ace out was actually a show of respect?
I know it sounds weird but hear me out: Garp, a man who has spent two decades telling his grandsons to be marines, knows more than anyone else what their actual dreams are. I believe that if he had tried to save Ace, the guy would have got ANGRY. Because 1) he doesn't WANT the help, 2) that means that Gramps wouldn't fight him like he would any other pirate (meaning he doesn't acknowledge him as one), and 3) he would RESENT Gramps for throwing away his own dream.
Garp could have betrayed Roger/his son easily by giving the government custody of the two. He could have grabbed those kids and thrown them into whatever Marine school/training exist way before they left Dawn Island. He could have not attacked Luffy at all in Water 7.
But he respects them and their dreams.
He fought Luffy in Water 7 (not full strength but that is because he is a softie who wants to see his kids alive and happy) because he respects his dream, even if he disagrees with it.
He sat with Ace at Marineford even though Sengoku told him that he didn't have to be there, because he respects Ace's will and dream as well, even though the idea of losing his grandson is killing him inside.
And both Luffy and Ace know it.
Luffy COULD have tried to escape Water 7 by asking him for help. Ace COULD have asked for help before his execution.
But they respect him too.
They grew up hearing about the Marines this, the Marjnes that, Gramps bothering them to no end about it the same way Luffy talks about pirates.
Garp's dream is to be a Marine and they would never ask him to give up on it.
Not even if that kills them, directly or not.
So Garp trained them, and he WAS unfair and violent... Not because he enjoyed it, because those boys were doomed to be murdered from the moment their exiatence came to be. They were doomed before they had even been born, and he gave them as 'safe' a childhood as he could (it was far from perfect, but they had shelter, food, water, and, even if lots of part of it sucked, they SURVIVED LONG ENOUGH TO REACH ADULTHOOD).
That was a very long rent but I have lots of feelings about parental figures who try but still fail because 1) context matters bitches (in the OP universe, Ace and Luffy could never have had a normal childhood) and 2) no parent is perfect and they ARE doomed to make mistakes (we all wish not to hurt loved ones, but we will fail, which is how we learn and can actually work toward redemption for past mistakes genuinely and not simply asking for empty forgiveness)
Hi how are you!
SO
chapter 8 is *chef kiss* the best and you literally posted it when I needed it the most I'll comment as soon as I feel my brain cells returning
I have two questions are you caught up to the manga or to the anime?
MONKEY D GARP
Thoughts? Other than being an amazing grandpa?
Helloooo!!! I'm super duper fine, I just finished rewatching Whole Cake Island with my roommate 👌👌
I hope that you're feeling better than a few days ago 🥺🥺 And that you will get a few days of rest now ٩(๑`∪´๑)۶
AaAAAAH I'm glad you enjoyed it!!!! I had lots of moxed feelings toward this chaoter but it may have been because I have worked on it for too long ahah Take your time to write your comment, I will wait patiently!! Even more so if you are planning on another 7k long comment ✧ʕ̢̣̣̣̣̩̩̩̩·͡˔·ོɁ̡̣̣̣̣̩̩̩̩✧
Ok technically I am caught up with the manga and read the chapters every week so. . . When it comes to Garp, my only answer will be this one :
IF ANYTHING WERE TO HAPPEN TO GRANDPA I WOULD JUST BREAK 🥹🥹🥹 💔
And the theories I keep seeing here and there make me fear for the worse and I refuse to acknowledge it in any way, I'm very very happy in Denial Land, it's a lovely country where you always find something new to keep you busy (๑❛ڡ❛๑)
#one piece spoilers#aslinn rambles#monkey d garp#I just think that saying he is 'bad' because he had an actual work is a lil bit fast#His training regimen sure never was fair that is for aure#But i feel mad bc many ppl don't try to understand what lead to which decision and then acknowledged that mistakes were made#While also considering that a character that has depth because of the good AND bad things they did#Just like when people condemn dragon for giving luffy to garp????#MY DUDE HAD STARTED THE REVOLUTION ARMY MAYBE 2~3 AGO ONLY???#Ofc he made the RATIONAL decision tk give him to the parent who he can trust would not give his child to the government no matter the bribe#Who the fuck would think that raising a child in the middle of a barely stable army would be the good choice for the kid??

Pirate Queen [Alpha Luffy x omega reader] - part 1
Important to understand the context
Part 1, Part 2 - Final, Part 3 - Extra
Word count: 1785
Spoilers for those who are still in the Thriller Bark arc and/or have not yet reached the Return to Sabaody arc
Trigger warning: rape and self-mutilation - nothing really happens but I thought it was good to mention
___
(shortly after the time skip begins)
'Garp-san please calm down!' Koby asks. 'Calm down?!?!? That Sengoku has got to be making fun of my face!' Koby cringes as Garp angrily paces all over his office continuing his monologue 'An omega? They really want to give me an omega? I'm almost 80 years old! Who expects me to get an omega now?'
"
'Garp, the government has decided to give you an omega' Garp bursts out laughing, but stops at Sengoku's serious look 'That's not serious, is it?' Sengoku sighs 'The government wants to do something about your family history' Garp raises an eyebrow 'What about my family history?' 'Is that serious Garp? Your son is Dragon the revolutionary and your grandson is Luffy in the straw hat. The government wants their top brass to have a family to show for it, but regarding yours they have always tried to hide such relationships. With what happened in the war they can no longer try to hide it, their solution is to give you an omega and show that you are starting over. Akainu asked me to talk to you and we both know that is not a choice Garp. They will send you the omega soon'
"
Garp sighs in exasperation, he already had an omega, he didn't need or want another one. 'Maybe they'll get along' Koby argues in an attempt to calm him down. Garp sighs again. 'Why didn't they decide to give the poor boy an omega instead?
___
Y/n tries to hold back her tears and calm her breathing, in her current situation she didn't know whether or not to be thankful. On the one hand she had gotten out of that disgusting omegas storage, on the other she was in heat, handcuffed and helpless in a room in which at any moment the alpha she was assigned to would enter, force her to mate with her and brand her. Okay, her current situation was definitely worse.
But if this idiot alpha thought she was going to give herself to him just because she was in heat he was very wrong. Y/n spent years in government omegas storage, but unlike most omegas there she never gave up. Not even now, she wouldn't let some idiot alpha claim her as his own, she belonged to her mate and him alone.
Taking a deep breath she tries to form a plan. The alpha would probably be very full of himself like everyone else, he would remove his handcuffs finding it ridiculous an omega in handcuffs as if he was dangerous, that would be when she would get her chance. She was surprisingly much stronger than what you would expect from an omega, even a beast and she could tell that strength was only growing stronger and stronger. Using the handcuffs she could handcuff him and escape. Was it a plan with a lot of "what ifs"? It was. But she wasn't going to give up without a fight. In fact, as a final plan she was going to throw herself against the mirror and use her shards to cut herself so that it was no longer possible to leave a binding mark on her. To her that was preferable to being marked by another.
___
Surprisingly it took a year to arrive, he even thought they might have changed their minds, but no. Garp grits his teeth as he reads the letter that was left on his desk, apparently his new omega was waiting for him in his room and he was given a week off, he knew his methods well, she was definitely in heat. He sighs as he enters the room with a box which he soon sets down near the bedside table. He quietly watches the omega on his bed growl at him. Again, was this for real? A beast? He had already found his mate so what was the point of giving him a beast? Even more one that had obviously just reached maturity? She was what? Eighteen years old? She could be his granddaughter! Did the government really think it was good for his image to have such a young partner? But having an idea of his reserves she was probably one of the oldest.
Garp starts pulling towels and pills out of the box and can see the confused look on the omega's face. He leaves and returns with one of the towels already damp, pulling a chair close to the bed he sits down and offers the omega a glass of water and some pills. It was surprisingly easy to resist his scent in heat, if he was being honest even if it aroused a certain protective instinct he didn't feel the slightest urge to jump on the omega.
___
Y/n watches as the alpha sighs in exasperation at her refusal to take the pills. He was strange, very old, and very indifferent to her vulnerable state, if only because she didn't feel her heat affected by his scent either. 'Right. I guess I can let you go first.' Her ears perk up at those words and she prepares to run away. As soon as the alpha lets her go she runs towards the door, but a moment before she opens it she is being pulled by the alpha. 'YOU IDIOT PIVET I'M NOT MAKING YOU EVIL!!!' He shouts sticking a punch and leaving a high on the omega's head (imagine how he does to Luffy).
Bringing her hands up she screams angrily 'I'VE DONE IT YOUR OLD IDIOT!!!' 'IS WHAT?!?!' Y/n turns his back on the alpha and can hear him sighing and repeating swear words to try and calm himself down 'Before we talk please take these' he again offers the pills to the omega who looks at him suspiciously 'They are suppressants to relieve the rut. I don't want to have some stinker jumping on me while I'm talking' snatching the pills and water out of his hands she takes them quickly before speaking 'As if I'm going to throw myself at an old man like you!'
For an omega that wasn't even marked she sure had plenty of strength to challenge an alpha as she did. Garp explained to her why she had been given to him and put her to rest by saying he had no intentions of touching her much less mating with her. He told her he intended to keep her for appearances and keep her from going back to where she had come from, the conversation was going well and she agreed with everything until Garp mentioned that he should mark her as part of the facade.
'No' 'How could you not?' 'No. I already have an alpha and he will be the one to mark me' 'You already have an alpha?' Garp asks confused 'Yes' Y/n maintains an offended posture at his proposal 'And who is this alpha?' 'I don't know' 'HOW DON'T YOU KNOW?' 'Because I don't know him yet!!! But my mate is definitely out there and I will find him. So yes, I have an alpha, but I don't know who'
Again, for an omega, let alone one in heat, she would not even flinch at an alpha. Could it be that her conviction was so great that she already had an alpha?
'We can wear makeup then' 'Makeup?' 'Yes’.
___
For the rest of her rut Y/n let Garp take care of her, bringing her food and pills, controlling her fever and preparing baths for her.
After that she and Garp eventually developed a good friendship and were able to enjoy each other's company. For some reason that they were both thankful they felt no attraction to each other, this made everything much easier. Their relationship became very strong and Garp was a sort of father figure to Y/n. They told Koby the truth and he was the one who ended up doing the makeup to fake the union mark on Y/n. Garp was glad that Y/n got along with Koby and Helmeppo, the three of them eventually forming the trio even training together.
One day during a break from one of her training sessions she told them both where she was before she came to belong to Garp, and as an alpha Koby promised that she would train hard to be worthy of an omega and be able to take one from there and further on who knows even have enough influence to abolish such a system. That little promise from the younger alpha made Y/n's heart warm at the thought of it.
___
'Luffy?' Y/n asks curiously 'Yes, he is my grandson and a big part of the reason you are here' 'Then I must remember to thank him when I see him' Y/n laughs ' Luffy...' She whispers thoughtfully and Garp looks at her with a questioning look 'It's a nice name' Garp snorts 'It would be nice if it wasn't on a wanted poster' 'I suppose' She laughs.
___
Now after a year Y/n was able to defeat both Helmeppo and Koby, that fact worried Garp putting him wondering who the omega's mate was, knowing full well it wasn't either of the admirals. Koby was not weak, on the contrary he had recently been promoted to captain which made Garp very proud.
During that year Y/n heard a lot from Koby about Garp's rowdy alpha grandson, he seemed very amusing, but at the same time he was serious and very convinced of his ideals. She smiles at the thought that in a way they were alike.
Now she was sitting in Garp's office reading a book while the alpha puffed and huffed at whatever was in his hands. When she finally diverts her eyes from the book and asks 'What's going on?' He tosses the sheet and mumbles even more annoyed as Y/n puts the book aside and stands up to pick up the paper from the floor 'That Luffy stinker as if it wasn't enough to disappear for two years now he shows up in Sabaody and starts causing a ruckus right away' Garp waits for an answer but it doesn't come. Faced with silence he turns to look at the omega. She is standing there with wide, glowing eyes as she looks at Luffy's wanted poster in her hands.
Garp's eyes widen 'shit' he whispers. A moment later and he can see a wide smile stamped on her face as she walks over to him slapping her hands and the poster on the table 'Vovo' 'Oh no...' One word, one look, the look of conviction he had seen so often in Luffy and Garp was already desperate
'I'm going to be queen of the pirates'

Sol i need headcanons for the brothers, please im begging you
BRUH I GOT YOU
I’m currently working on some little fics for them BUT I CAN GIVE YOU SOME DETAILS BECAUSE I’M DYING TO SHARE
(Warning, gets a little dark towards the middle, but overall fine. Sorry for the long read. I went for a DEEP dive on the Age Gap Au)
Ace was put into foster care 4 hours after his birth. His father died before he was born and his mother died during childbirth. Ace had nothing to his name but physical traits of the dead (Like his father's sharp eyes and his mother’s freckles) He grew up with a need to prove himself and to gain something that truly belonged to him all on his own.
Sabo was placed in foster care when he was 5 because of an altercation with his abusive and possesive parents, involving him having broken ribs and running away.
Ace and Sabo met in a halfway home for troubled youths when they were 6. (They both had issues with authority and past placements in foster homes, so they quickly bonded over that, and decided to stick together ever since)
Their bond was so strong that ‘honorary’ brothers didn’t really fit them. They were brothers. And they stuck together and stood up for one another like it was them against the world (which sometimes it was)
They would often run away from the halfway home they were at, trying to earn a living on their own on the streets, and often commit petty thefts in order to survive.
These little runaway trips wouldn’t last long though, because they were always caught by Officer Garp, a police officer that happened to have a knack for catching little runaways.
However tough Garp acted though, he had an incredibly big soft spot for these two little brats that were only trying to make their lives better. These two kids, barely 8 years old, who had so much hatred for the world because of adults in their lives that failed them. Adults that hurt them, giving them scars and bruises on their hearts just as easily as the scars and bruises on the little frames.
After a particular runaway incident, Ace breaks down and confesses about all the horrible placements he and Sabo had been in before. How social services always judge Ace’s sharp eyes and label in a problem child, how Sabo’s quick wit always get him in trouble with the adults, how they both have scars and bruises from past foster homes they were placed in, and that's why Ace and Sabo runaway. They’re tired of getting placed in bad homes. They’re tired of having adults try to separate them. Ace is all Sabo has and vice versa because that's the only person in the whole world who they trust to not hurt them. And Garp thinks that’s the last fucking straw.
Garp, much to Ace and Sabo’s but nobody else’s surprise, adopts both the boys, and takes them into his own home. Because dammit, if they’re just gonna runaway, they might as well stay with someone who will at least love them enough to always look for them and bring them back to a good home when they do.
And it’s weird at first, because Garp is the rough and loud and nosey officer that used to grab them by the scruffs of their shirts and drag them back to that awful halfway home kicking and screaming. But then it gets better. Because he still yells at them, but it’s with a tempered and fiercely protective love it when he does. He still grabs them, but it’s just to pull them into a rough bear hug that they fervently pretend they don’t like. And every dinner is spent with tears of laughter in their eyes and cheeks warm with delight at the stories he tells them. (They call him old man with affection and he’s their father figure even though they treat him like their grandpa.)
Sabo joins his school’s baseball team! Which is so freaking cool! He’s a really strong batter, can weild a bat like it’s an extension of his own arm, and Ace and Garp are always the loudest cheers on the bleachers every home run hit Sabo makes.
Garp makes Ace take up boxing, because the kid’s got a lot of pent-up rage and aggression, and he figures it’s a good constructive sort of therapy for the rowdy brat.
The two still get up to mischief every now and again, though. Nothing illegal, but Garp is still having to wrangle up his two little idiots before they do something stupid. (They get into a lot of fights with local gangs because they have smart mouths and are still a little reckless)
Garp has a biological son that Ace and Sabo never met due to Garp’s and Dragon’s strained relationship. Garp had always bad-mouthed him whenever his son was brought up, but it was always with words that had no heat behind them, and Sabo and Ace could tell there was a sadness behind his eyes whenever he looked at the picture of his son in his wallet.
The boys were 10 when they got the news of Dragon’s death a week after it happened. Garp had gotten the phone call when he and the boys were watching some late-night trash tv on the weekend, and he had all but strangled the phone in a grip that turned his knuckles white. He didn’t say what had killed his son, (he never did), but he had told the boys he needed to take care of something, told them to pack up some of their things, dropped them off at his friend Newgate’s house, and got the quickest flight out that night.
He came back 3 days later, and when he did, he had a tiny little baby with him.
Ace and Sabo were no strangers to babies. There was always some snot-nosed kid that would get dropped off at the halfway home (and then adopted that week, because everybody loved babies), and they were pretty sure this baby wasn’t gonna be any different. Because babies were loud and gross and never stopped crying, and Ace and Sabo were prepared for the absolute worse.
But then they stood over the baby’s crib to get a good look at him, and the baby looked back.
And smiled the biggest and happiest smile Ace and Sabo had ever seen.
And Garp had said “His name is Luffy,” and Ace and Sabo had been hooked around his little finger ever since.
Luffy was barely 6 months old, and was a bundle of chubby cheeks and contagious giggles. With big brown chocolate colored eyes that melted all the sharp corners and edges of Ace’s and Sabo’s hearts.
Because Sabo and Ace were the same age, and neither one of them felt like the older or younger brother. They were equals in every way. But it was different with Luffy. Because Luffy was tiny, and soft and could barely wrap all 5 of his little fingers around one of theirs, and it hit Sabo and Ace like a bullet train because oh.
Oh this is what it was like to be an older brother. This was what it was like to have a little brother. And Sabo and Ace have always looked out for each other, of course. But Luffy was something they had to protect fully and with their entire being. His smile, his laughter, his heart. All of it. Sabo and Ace knew all the horrible things in the world, knew all the hatred and fear and heartbreak the world could throw at you and it was like a silent promise to each other they never verbalized, that Luffy should and would never have to go through the things they went through. He would never feel unloved. He would never feel unwanted. He would never feel like he had to prove his worth or reason for existing. (He was worth more than any price anyone could give anyway)
Sabo and Ace stopped getting into trouble. They got good grades, excelled in their respective clubs, and didn’t give Garp any reason to chase them down in his old cop car and bring them home. (They were always at home anyway, giving Luffy piggyback rides and teaching him how to ride a bike and do one-handed handstands and cartwheels, and basking in the warmth that was Luffy’s endless love) And they lived in peace like that for 5 years.
Then the fire happened.
Garp was a good police officer and an even better Deputy Chief, and for almost 40 years, he served on the Foosha County Police Department. He had put away a lot of bad guys and saved a lot of people in the process and was an honored and highly respected man. However, this also made him a big target and earned him quite a few enemies. He was 3 weeks away from retirement and spending most of those weeks staying at home, playing with Luffy, and ingnoring the last of his paperwork left on his office desk.
When the fire broke out, Ace and Sabo had just turned the corner from the bus stop on their way home from school. They had seen the smoke, but didn’t know where it was coming from till they saw the towering blaze of fire that used to be their 2 story home and the group of neighbors surrounding the outside.
They managed to push their way to the front, hands shaking and eyes wide and absolutely breathless, because that was their house! That was their house that was one fire and where was gramps?! Where was Luffy?!
The only thing Ace heard Sabo whisper among the roar of the fire and the loud murmur of people around them was “Do you hear that? That... crying?” Before Sabo surged forward.
Ace didn’t have time to reach out and stop him, and by the time he could, Sabo had already disappeared into the open front door, which was covered in flames. He had screamed out, tried to race in and follow his brother into the flames, but the neighbors around him were quicker than he was and pulled him back.
Edward Newgate, one of their neighbors and close personal friend of Garp’s was in the crowd, and he was holding Ace to his chest with an arm like an iron bar, as he was on the phone with the local fire department. (Newgate was also the Foosha County fire chief, and was shouting at his lieutenants to “get your asses out here now!’) But Ace didn’t hear a word he was saying. All he could do was struggle to get out of the older man’s grip, reach out for his brother and best friend, and scream his lungs out.
What felt like hours went by, and Ace felt like his heart was shattering into a million piece, the glass shards falling around him, as he sobbed into Newgate's chest, thinking he had lost everything. His home. His family. His only purpose and reason for living.
And then some of the neighbors were shouting again, only this time in surprised alarm and Ace looked up with hazy eyes blurred by tears, to see something was coming out of the front door.
And it could only be Sabo. Ace knew it was him before he could even register it, and bolted out of Newgate's grips that had slacked at the surprise and towards his brother.
Ace met Sabo only a few feet from the door, Sabo collapsing into his arms, and Ace had to pull him the extra few feet away because the flames were still too much to bear even at that distance.
And Sabo’s skin was hot and red and covered in smoke and ash alike. There was a giant welting red burn against the side of Sabo’s face that looked like it would leave a scar forever, but Ace was having a hard time focusing on it because he was too bust focusing on the bundle of blankets that Sabo was desperately trying to push into Ace’s arms.
And Ace was already crying before, but he began crying even harder when he removed the fold of blankets to reveal a muffled Luffy, covered in ash but unharmed, crying his eyes out.
Sabo had a coughing fit that rocked his whole body, and burns that looked like they'd hurt forever, but he was smiling when Ace broke into a sob, clutching both Sabo and Luffy into his chest.
The firefighters and paramedics came a few minutes later, and they had to physically pull Sabo and Luffy from Ace’s arms to check and treat them. Luffy only ended up with a few mild burns and cuts on his arms and legs and some burning of his throat from inhaling so much smoke, but Sabo had to be taken to the hospital immediately for his burns, especially for the one on his face. Ace pleaded to let them all ride in the same ambulence on the way to the hosipital, and held on to Sabo’s shirt sleeve with a grip that would take the end of the world and then some for him to let go.
Sabo had to get some surgery and treatment to save his left eye, but he was all in all ok, and Ace and Luffy were allowed to visit his hospital room for as long as they needed.
When Ace finally confronted Sabo on why he had ran into the house in the first place, it was on the first night of their hospital stay. Sabo had a giant white gauze wrapping half of his head, and he looked at Ace with tired blue eyes that looked a little fuzy, still a little drugged from all the medication he was on to ease the pain.
And Ace felt bad about it, he really did, because Sabo didn’t derserve to be grilled on the matter. Not after he had sacrificed himself and saved Luffy. Their little brother. Their little brother who they wouldn’t even have anymore if it weren’t for Sabo.
But Ace had to know. He was so mad and heartbroken and scared out of his mind when Sabo had rushed in without word or warning. Because they had lost Garp. They had almost lost Luffy. And Ace could have almost lost Sabo too.
But Luffy was tucked underneath Sabo’s arm on the hospital bed, and Sabo just smiled at Ace with a patience that only Ace and Luffy could pull out of him, and patted the other side for Ace to join them. Ace climbed onto the bed beside him, and even with the two 15-year-olds and one little 5 year old, the bed didn’t feel too small at all.
Sabo explained that he could hear crying from the door and he just moved. Knowing it was Luffy before his mind could really think about the implications behind that. He confessed how the flames hurt at first. Hurt so bad, and it was so hot, and everything, from the floor to the ceiling, was on fire and he could barely see anything through the smoke. But he could hear Luffy’s little rough and horse scream, coming from one of the back rooms that used to be Garp's office, and suddenly all Sabo could afford to think about was Luffy’s crying.
Sabo would tell a watered-down version of this story to the cops in the morning, because they were Garp's friend and companions, and they only really needed the broad details for their report anyway.
He’ll tell a heroic version of this story, lacking any horrific graphics, to an older Luffy whenever the eternally curious kid wonders and asks about it.
But he only ever told the whole story right then on that night, one arm tight around his baby brother in a toothed and protective love, while the other one gripped his best friend's hands with shaking and bandaged fingers hard enough to leave bruising.
Garp was long dead when Sabo found him. The smell of his skin burning off is something that will haunt Sabo for the rest of his life. (Sometimes certain smells will set him off. Uncooked bacon is not allowed in the house anymore after one traumatic morning when Luffy is six. Campfires are viewed and enjoyed from a distance.)
He was lying on his stomach, clutching something to his chest. Sabo knew it was Luffy by the cries, bundled up in a few quilts and one of this office rugs, and Sabo knew he had to get them out of there before the smoke killed them off like it had a personal agenda against them.
The heat was unbearable, Sabo had confessed, but it was nothing compared to having to drag Luffy from underneath Garp’s grip. The old man was built like a brick house, sure, but even in death, his grip on Luffy, protecting Luffy, like he was daring the world to take anything away from him, was steadfast and almost unbbreakable.
It was the hardest thing Sabo had ever had to make himself do.
He didn’t look at Garp’s face. His body was burned black and bloody and raw, and Sabo couldn’t live with himself if his memory of Garp’s face was replaced by anything other than with the one of his scruffy beard and the shit-eating grin that he always wore.
When he pulled Luffy out, he didn’t look back, and raced out of the house as fast as he could. Something along the way fell and smacked him in the face, knocking him down at one point, but Sabo couldn’t pay it much mind. He got back up, and continued towards the door. He could barely see, barely breathe, with all the smoke and the ash, and the pain from the fire was almost numbing against his skin, but he didn’t stop.
All he could think about was Luffy, still struggling and crying against the blankets wrapped tightly around him. Next thing he knew, he was outside, and looking up at Ace’s snot-covered face.
Ace had never seen Sabo cry for the almost 10 years he knew him. He didn’t cry when he was 7, and the Anderson family had called him a freak and had sent him back after a failed foster home placement. He didn’t cry when he was 9, and broke his arm falling out of the tree in their backyard that Garp had told him not to climb, so of course he had to climb it. And he didn’t even cry earlier that day, at 15, when he was off medication and feeling the full extent of his painful burns.
So when tears started pooling out of Sabo’s pale blue eyes, falling down his cheeks and staining the cotton white blanket he was under as he told his story, Ace pretended not to notice, wrapped an arm around Sabo’s shoulders, and held him like it was the only lifeline in the world.
Garp’s funeral was held the following week. Closed casket. All the police departments in the county, and even some outside of it, showed up to give him a full send-off. Ace cried for both Sabo and himself. Sabo spoke a few words for the both of them. And Luffy stood between them, holding both their hands. They explained the night before that gramps was gone, but they don’t think the notion of death really got through to Luffy. He was crying, but only because Ace was crying, and when he asked ‘can gramps come out of the box to give me a hug before he goes away?’ everyone has to clench their teeth and hold their breaths to stop their hearts from breaking. Sabo kneeled down to wrap Luffy in a tight hug. Ace covered his face with his arm and cried harder
(They never bother asking Luffy about how the fire started, or what happened that day. Luffy doesn’t remember, and they don’t push it further. The truth isn’t as important as Luffy’s mentality is, but Garp’s old squad promises that they won’t rest until they get to the bottom of it. And as much as Ace and Sabo want justice and revenge, they have Luffy to think about, so they leave it up to the police)
Sabo and Ace are almost 16, and they suddenly have no parental figure, no home, no anything, and suddenly they’re faced with the horrible notion that even more can be taken from them when a blast from their past threatens to take Luffy away from them too.
They’re no stranger to the foster care system, so when social services show up at the motel they were renting with Garp’s savings, they feel their hearts drop to their stomach for fear of the very real possibility that Luffy will be placed in immediate foster care, and possibly, so would they.
Ace and Sabo jump into action then, because no way, no fucking way, were they gonna lose Luffy. They had lost everything else. They almost did lose Luffy. They weren’t gonna risk that chance again.
Ace was only a few weeks older than Sabo. Sabo hadn’t paused a second to jump into the fire, risking life and limb, to protect what little they had. It was Ace’s turn to be the heroic older brother. And on the day he turned 16, Ace petitioned legal guardianship and parental rights for Sabo and Luffy.
And it was hard, because of course the courts felt sorry for him, the grandson of one of the best police chiefs in the county’s history, begging the courts to let him keep what little family he had left together. The courts wanted to give it to him, wanted to help him. But Luffy was a child. And Ace and Sabo were practically still kids themselves. Asking kids to raise themselves was something no one should ask them to do.
But Ace and Sabo fought for it. Ace was 16, and Sabo would be 16 soon enough. They could get GED’s, no problem. They’d get jobs, get a little apartment near Luffy’s school, attend any parenting and child service meeting required of them. They’d buy all the necessities over again and they’d love Luffy where no other foster family could even compare. They’d do everything, everything and anything, to keep Luffy. To let them stay together.
With a couple of vouchers from Garp’s old police squad, including one from an overly enthusiastic Edward Newgate and one from the boy’s homeroom teacher, Makino, the courts ruled in Ace’s and Sabo’s favor, and Luffy was officially theirs until they proved that Luffy was better off somewhere else.
Ace and Sabo were never gonna let that happen.
They got a little 2 bedroom apartment a couple blocks from Luffy’s elementary. They quit school, and worked extra hard to earn their GED’s within the following months. (With the help of their old teachers and a few of their overly enthusiastic neighbors)
Ace got a job at the local fire department, as a rookie in training under Newgate.
Sabo got a job at the local news station, writing reports on top of his interning duties.
Ace eventually got a motorcycle that same year, which scared Sabo half to death and delighted Luffy to no end. It was cheaper than a car, and easier to travel to and from work on, and no matter how hard Sabo tried, he couldn’t come up with a valid reason why Ace shouldn’t use it to their advantage. So Sabo made Ace promise to always wear a helmet when riding it, and that Luffy wasn’t allowed to ride it until he was much older. (Which Luffy pouted about to no end)
And it’s hard at times, both of them working overtime just to make enough to support themselves and keep them afloat, but it’s good, and it’s theirs.
Luffy makes a friend on his first day of first grade named Zoro Roronoa, another kid that lives just across the street from them, and when Ace and Sabo know they’re gonna be late in getting home, Luffy goes over there and hangs out until they can pick him up (Which is totally fine with Zoro’s father Koushirou, a kendo teacher and single father of 6-year-old Zoro and 9-year-old Kuina. Zoro has a bit of a personality problem and often has trouble making friends (because the child doesn’t see a need to) so when little bright-eyed and endlessly joyful Luffy pops into their life, Kushirou jumps at the chance to have him over as much as possible, because the two small children seem to bring out the best in each other, and are best friends attached at the hip) Sabo and Ace are eternally grateful to the kind man)
A few years go by, and Luffy is 8. Ace is still working at the fire station and is now legally allowed to join them on calls and emergencies. (Fire used to make Ace nervous, because he almost lost everything to it. Now he has a personal agenda with it, to make sure it doesn’t take anything from anyone else)
Sabo has moved up the ranks now, and when he turns 18, confronts Ace with a rare job opportunity he was offered.
“It’s a year-long internship for this really cool company that reports and delivers high-class diplomatic information around,” Sabo starts, rubbing the back of his head like he doesn’t know what to do with his hands. “I’d be working as like, a cool undercover spy with diplomatic immunity and a messenger bag. It’s not dangerous at all, and pays almost triple my paycheck now, which would really help us out. But it’s overseas, and I’d be gone for a whole year. You’d be raising Luffy all by yourself, birthdays and holidays and skinned knees, with just the two of you, so say the word, and I’ll totally turn this job down on the spot.”
And it’s scary to Ace. Because he hasn’t been alone since he was 6 years old, and he can’t possibly remember a time when Sabo hadn’t been by his side. His best friend and brother. It was always the two of them. Two little runaways that found a home, lost that home, and then built a new home all on their own despite it all. And neither of them had ever been away from Luffy for longer than a weekend, so Ace was sure it would kill Sabo to be away from them for so long.
But he also knew that Sabo was only playing this off like it wasn’t a big deal, when in fact it was the job opportunity of a lifetime for someone like Sabo, a kid who breathed adventure and freedom with every breath. And that when he talked about it, his eyes sparkled with a joy that Ace would hate himself forever for taking it away.
Sabo was giving Ace the choice, and Ace knew that Sabo would go along with whatever Ace decided without a second thought or complaint. But Ace knew that Sabo would regret it for the rest of his life if he didn't go, so he slugged Sabo in the arm, gave him his best shit-eating, confident grin, (the kind he used to give him right before they were about to steal some food as kids, or about to get into a fight when they were teens) and said, “You let me have a motorcycle. The least I can do is let you go road tripping abroad.”
Because Ace and Luffy would be fine. They’d miss Sabo like crazy, and Ace was pretty sure Sabo was like, 90% of his impulse control, but they’d survive. Sabo had the burn marks to prove how far he was willing to go for their family, and Ace had never thanked him for that. Ace was never gonna live that down, and was going to spend the rest of his life making it up to both Sabo AND Luffy, and prove just how good of an older brother he could be. This was the least he could do for them.

Unedited
Portgas D. Ace
Definitely the flustered type but he’s so unbelievably sweet about everything.
The classic type tho, showing up to give your roses and meeting your parents. Embarrassing by everything your parents say.
Ace was so sweet that your parents eve joke about y’all getting married and all that. It’s safe to say that the both of y’all left the house redder than the tie Ace was wearing.
As soon as y’all drove off tho, you were in total control of the date. All that Ace knew was what Garp and the others told them, so the rest of the night was all up to you.
Ace looked hella awkward when It came to the party. Ace is all down for a good party but a formal one, so not his thing. So a lot of the night he was following your lead.
Obnoxious eating? Yes. Drinking a lot? Yup. Passing out afterwards and scarring the shit out of the others? Of course, it wouldn’t be a party without it!
Y’all would met up Sabo and his crew and just goofed around for the most part. Sabo joked about y’all being a couple and all that, y’all would sneak off the pull pranks on the teachers, piss of the love-dovey couple, then did it all again
When it came to dancing, you and some other girls would go dancing while Ace and the others watch from the outside. When the slow dance came on you bet your ass your dragging Ace out.
Very lazy slow dancing, your hands wrapped around his neck with your face buried in the crook of it, while Ace’s hands rested on your bottom. y’all would sway back and forwards just embracing each and enjoying the warmth. and then once the song was over, the 2 of y’all would end with a passionate kiss.
The night was a pretty simple night, Ace wasn’t to into the party so he didn’t want to do much. As long as he was with you, he doesn’t care. You didn’t want to stay the whole night either, you just wanted to make your appearance hang out with the others a bit then leave.
Once y’all leave, y’all send the rest of the night as Ace’s place. Watching movies, ruining yalls clothes, then passing out in some tangled position. The drinks, food, and sore muscles is a problem for the morning
Sabo
Prom king and queen hands down. It’s just a known fact. Going with this man means the nights gonna be almost perfect.
Y’all would be the couple that has matching outfits. Like your dress with match Sabo’s blue tie, stuff like that. He would also spoil you as much as he could too when it comes to getting ready, like he’ll pay for you to get your nails and hair done.
And when it comes to the night of the dance he’ll pick you up, give you flowers, talk with your family, take you out to dinner, then y’all will arrive at the yall walk hand in hand to the ball room. As if y’all were royalty. From there on out, y’all let whatever happens.
When y’all arrive, Sabo was quick to find Ace and his date. You know damn well your not gonna enjoy the party without him. You didn’t mind tho, whenever the 2 of them are together crazy stuff always happens.
Not only does Sabo buddy up with Ace most of the night, but Ace is a social guy, having ties with a lot of people. So y’all spend a lot of the time hanging out with other people. Of course Sabo’s not going anyways where without his date. So if your not going Sabo ain’t either.
Not much time is spent on the dance floor because y’all are always with some group of people goofing off and talking. But once the slow dance comes on the 2 of y’all are definitely gonna be floor dancing.
Similarly to Ace, y’all have a very lazy dance style. Your hands around his neck and his hands wrapped around your waist. A few words would be exchanged between y’all but besides that’s y’all just enjoy each other’s embrace.
Y’all do end up staying most of the night. The plan was to leave a little after the slow dance after y’all had finished talking to everyone. Y’all were gonna join Ace and his date do a double movie date at their house. But everyone insisted y’all stay
So y’all end up staying bc luckily enough this is when y’all are named prom king and queen, it’s was mostly sabo who won but everyone still voted you too bc let’s be honest y’all are still a perfect couple.
But after the crowning y’all basically said your thanks you and all that then snuck off with Ace and his date to crash at their place.
It was a very active night with you and sabo talking with everyone and then being named prom king and queen. And as always to end a very active night, the 2 of y’all cuddle in each other arms and just savor the embrace of each other.
Monkey D. Luffy
Very spontaneous with this one. You don’t even know your going with him until like 3 days before. And he didnt event bother to ask you, someone brought up the question in which Luffy answered, “Oh, I’m taking s/o.” Never once did you hear anything about it
But although you had 3 days to buy a dress and schedule hair and make up appointments, you went anyways. A party with Luffy and the Strawhats, no way your were gonna miss out on this.
Now Luffy’s not as romantic as his brothers but he’s knows that he at least has to take you out to dinner, he mostly heard that from Grap and the others. However Garp seemed to forget to see Luffy when. But you got into the car you thought he just simply forgot, but it wouldn’t till after dance would he take you.
The dance it’s was a whole experience. You wouldn’t expect any less tho. With the strawhats involved it always a party that either ends in 2 ways: 1- in disaster or 2- not a planned at all.
To start of with, somehow they were able to find the alcohol?? Which shouldn’t even be on the school grounds?? And they were already drinking it like no tomorrow. Zoro was on his 5th glass already and Nami was in a drinking contest
Brook took control of the Dj booth was just playing songs at random, ‘big green tracker’ by Jason aldean then ‘kiss me more’ by Doja cat, then some classical track
Usopp and Franky were doing god knows what. Something to do with the lightings or something. Making the dance floor much more like a club. Sanji was chancing off a group of girls around the floor, and then finally Robin and Chopper were just in the back enjoying the food
They were all over the place but it’s what makes them the life of the party. Even though they were all over the place and doing their out think, Luffy was jumping around everywhere too but he still knows that y’all are on a date, so where ever he goes you follow behind.
This prom is definitely going down in school history. There is no way that people won’t be talking about it. Anything to do with the Strawhats goes down in history.
Of course unlike the others, y’all end up partying all night long and then crashing at some restaurants Luffy promised he’d take you. Although it wasn’t much of a prom date, you still enjoyed the time you spent with the others. And Luffy made sure to keep you close to his side all night long.
Trafalgar Water D Law
Law was that one cool senior, who had like a cool car and all that. With that being said, you were his 1 year younger lover. So while he doesn’t go to school anymore, he was still your date to prom.
Practically the talk of the school when y’all arrive, not because y’all are still dating but mostly because you were able to keep up with someone like him. With Law being cool he was still kinda a jerk, so having you with him was a relief
So law may be a jerk but he’s is a romantic one at least. Like sabo, he picks you up and gives you a bunch of flowers, he not to social with your parents but they are still cool with him. Then take you out to dinner
At dinner you joke about how he just left high school and now he’s back and how awkward it would be to see his old teachers. Of course, he doesn’t care. Law was more curious to see how the night played out. His senior year he didn’t go to prom so it’s the first with you.
When y’all first get to the party, Law’s pretty much glued to your side. Not because he find it awkward and uncomfortable but he just doesn’t know anyways besides the teachers. So you take him around and introduce him to all your friends.
Whether you introduced a boy or girl, Law kept a hand on you the whole time, almost as a way of saying that your his. This is when you first realized just how intimidating Law is. He really does seem to only have a soft spot for you. So when it come to dancing, Law stood near the wall letting you enjoy the dance floor with your friends without him.
He made sure to scare of any boy who got to close tho, as he watched you with such an intense gaze. However once the slow dance come on that all changed. You dragged Law out to the dance floor where y’all were both surrounded by a bunch of other couples.
Surprisingly for how much Law doesn’t say he’s not a good dancer he was amazing when it came to the slow dance. He was such a passionate dancing too, but so much love in the dance. With y’all’s hands intertwined and his hands resting on your hip and yours on his shoulder, the 2 of y’all swayed back and forward.
However once the slower dance was over, y’all really had no other reason to stay. So you law and a few other friends snuck out and just crashed at some bar where y’all celebrated both prom and graduation that was coming up soon.
Although Law already graduated, he would never miss an opportunity to share a drink and few heated kisses between his tipsy lover.
