Been meaning to do some fanart for the metroid prime 3 hunters! I have the headcanon that samus isn't all that much of a lone wolf as the federation tends to think...but rather prefers the company of fellow bounty hunters.

I like to think of another universe, maybe a future in our own, where Metroid gets an animated series adapting the game arcs, while having episodic stories both between and even as a part of said arcs. And some of those episodes are about Samus individually meeting fellow hunters Rundas, Ghor, and Gandrayda; With these stories culminating in all four teaming up together for a challenging mission that they barely succeed in. Cue the four celebrating together, becoming good friends as Samus gets some actual happiness and new connections.

So while most of the fandom, the newcomers, are posting fluff and fanart and HCs, veterans who know what happens next are just spamming memes like:

Mods asleep ok so I have two Metroid x Gravity Falls crackships right? One's not really a joke anymore and that's more of a tangent than I wanna go on right now but the OTHER one and the haha funny joke one is Pyronica Gravity Falls and Gandrayda Metroid Prime 3 Corruption

There's at least a little necromancy involved here but that's ok they can have it as a treat. I think when the universe screws you over you get to be a little mad about it. You know I think Gandrayda should adopt Pyronica's burn the universe down goal, as a treat.

Concept: Samus and Gandrayda's breakup happened during a game of Among Us.

Samus was frustrated with the game in general already, since she kept getting tunnel-visioned on doing her tasks as a crewmate and dying in the middle of them, and when she got the imposter role, her chronic poker face and ruthless murdery efficiency were belied by simply not being a very good liar. Meanwhile Gandrayda was an absolute menace, throwing out accusations and thriving on stirring up drama no matter what role she got; treating the game not as a cooperative effort, but as a personal challenge on how quickly in each session she could get that cooperation to break down.

So when she and Samus both got the imposter role in the same session, a very fed-up Samus instantly confessed that they were both the imposters, then ragequit to leave Gandrayda to talk herself out of it or get tossed out the airlock.

The following in-person argument quickly became about many more things than just the game, and left the tiny Federation outpost they were residing in at the time reduced to smoldering, electrically-charged smithereens. Thankfully, though, none of the other staff stationed there at the time were too grievously injured.
