Under Milestone 5 of our grant funding from the Cable and Wireless Foundation/ Flow Barbados, WIRRED is rolling out a number of interactive education workshops in which participants can gain hands-on experience in permaculture techniques that they can then apply in their own homes and communities. ⁠ ⁠ They looked at worm-towers and how they positively affect household waste and home-gardens. By composting at home, communities are creating fertile soil - soil that can be used to grow food at home. Community gardens have popped up in Barbados over the COVID-19 lockdown period. The "Composting 101" course is certainly the perfect starter pack for the amateur gardener.
