In lights of @depressedhatakekakashi recent poll about "who would plan the most romantic date" and since I've only ever seen Kakashi's part posted, this is all the sensei's canon personality traits from the first databook page 160 written by Kishimoto XD

one thing about me is that i fuck with every kakashi yaoi ever... obikaka? toxic doomed yaoi. kakagai? old man yaoi. kakairu? co-parents yaoi. kakayam? co-workers yaoi. like hell yeah im passing kakashi around like a blunt

kakashi and iruka scenes are few and far in between but the ones we do get are so intimate. like:

they're alone 90% of the time (on the bench, on the roof, in kakashi's office, in that hallway during the wedding episode, during the wedding itself, in iruka's office)

even when they're not, at least one if not both of them have their attention fully on the other (kakashi listening to iruka on the roof with hiruzen, with naruto knocked out in the back hills, at the mission desk, during chuunin exams nominations, in tsunade's office, pain’s attack, vice principal convo in ichiraku, after the graduation exam in boruto)

they're either opening up to or helping each other in most of them (advice on the bench, sincere apology on the roof, tsuande's office with pakkun, during pain's attack, in kakashi's office about the wedding, conversation at the wedding)

there's usually a picturesque background/aspect of some sort framing them in these scenes (the bench with the sunset, standing under flowering trees, in iruka's office in front of a sunset, softer lighting in general)

THE TOUCHING AND BLUSHING AND SMILING AND GAZING. ALL THE TIME. EVERYWHERE.

Even the implied interactions they have in Kakashi Retsuden are like this. The sleep chakra point thing in particular (ESPECIALLY IT BEING ON THE BACK OF THE NECK-- like iruka was not teaching him all that in public, that happened in the privacy of one of their homes or offices)

not to mention the promotional/merchandising materials (of which there are too many to point out but im thinking about the sunflower field one in particular)

honestly everyone keep talking about how close to canon sasunaru is but i’ve literally never seen people talking about masterpiece like kakairu.

Kakairu Valentine's Week 2023 Day 4: Speed dating Family

gai tagging along for a bunch of kakashi and iruka’s dates to make sure iruka is treating his eternal rival well. though a lot of people find it weird and kakashi is worried that iruka will too — not because he’s embarrassed of gai, but because he likes iruka so much and he can’t be with someone who is put off by his best friend.

but when kakashi gets iruka alone and finally asks about it, iruka just laughs and points out that first of all anko made multiple threats against kakashi’s life if anything were to happen to iruka and stalked them for entirety of their first 5 dates.

then he smiles and his voice gets all soft and he tells kakashi that it makes him really happy to know that there are people who love kakashi enough to want to make sure that nobody mistreats him, that gai has been extremely encouraging and kind, and iruka is glad kakashi has a best friend like him.

and then kakashi feels stupid for worrying at all because this is umino “took a fuma shuriken to the back for naruto when the rest of the village still hated him” iruka, of course he doesn’t care if other people think it’s weird.

Also after the movies some characters increase their morale, what shocked me is that Kakashi's had to increase three times to be in highest while Iruka's went to highest just from rhis interaction lol
