"We often give so much power to the hurt of the past that it ends up ruling our present. The act of letting go is rooted in a profound acceptance of what IS. It is about letting your heart crumble, about letting yourself be rearranged by the journey of being alive." - Gabriele Bertaccini

if you like queer eye, pls watch say i do on netflix!!!
it’s a really cute and wholesome show with a similar premise to queer eye, but with weddings. basically, they plan and organize weddings for a bunch of different couples, most of whom are poc or queer. the hosts r self described as “3 small gay men” and they’re not only very talented but seem to really care about their clients. basically watching this show gave me the same Good Vibe that queer eye does, even as someone who isn’t super into weddings as a concept. each ep feels v personal and heartfelt and a lot of them are also very Queer Cathartic so there’s that too. pls watch this show!! i would love for them to get more viewers/support!!

For celebrity chef and reality TV host Gabriele Bertaccini, the kitchen table is a place of sharing stories and bonding. So it’s very much within character that during the debut episode of the Netflix wedding-planner show Say I Do, while cooking with groom-to-be Marcus LaCour, chef Bertaccini disclosed he is living with HIV.
LaCour had opened up about his own diabetes diagnosis and how it affected his health and mental outlook. In turn, Bertaccini said he understood how a life-changing diagnosis can depress and scare you—and that he had this insight because he was HIV positive.
LaCour responded with compassion and support, adding that he had never met a person with HIV before.

Do you think that Jeremiah Brent would make a pretty good grownup Draco, and Gabriele Bertaccini would work as a grownup Harry? Just binged Say I do on Netflix and these are the thoughts I’m left with. Jeremiah has such lovely energy about him, and he carries himself so elegantly, I think it’s uncanny.
Hello nonnie! Okay so I’ve never watched Say I Do - but a quick google brought me these handsome devils and I love your vision of them as Draco and Harry!
What do the rest of you think?!

(Jeremiah on the left, Gabriele in the middle, and Thai Nguyen on the right)
I’m rather taken with Jeremiah’s dimpled chin 😍 I’m just going to squint and imagine him with fairer hair! And Gabriele looks so warm and open - I can see where you’re getting Harry vibes from!

Original Content podcast: Netflix’s ‘Say I Do’ offers a wedding-focused twist on the ‘Queer Eye’ formula
Parts of “Say I Do,” a new reality series on Netflix, will feel pretty familiar to fans of the streaming service’s popular reboot of “Queer Eye.”
Like “Queer Eye,” “Say I Do” stars gay men who are experts in a particular field — in this case, interior designer Jeremiah Brent, fashion designer Thai Nguyen and chef Gabriele Bertaccini. In each episode, the trio is given the only-on-reality-TV task of organizing an elaborate wedding in a single week. And usually, just one half of the lucky couple knows about the wedding until a few days before it’s scheduled to take place.
As we explain on the latest episode of the Original Content podcast, it’s hard to resist comparisons to “Queer Eye,” particularly since “Queer Eye” creator David Collins is an executive producer on the new show.
But “Say I Do” has its own unique charms. Although its hosts aren’t quite as aggressively charismatic as the Fab Five, the trio won us over quite effectively, thanks to a combination of impressive wedding planning and convincing emotional engagement.
Put another way: Nearly every episode ends with its hosts quietly wiping away tears, and the audience will probably find itself joining in, as “Say I Do”‘s focus on weddings proves to be a reliable template for cathartic conversations.
In addition to our review, we also discuss this year’s Emmys, which saw Netflix receiving a record number of nominations.

Say I Do Web-series from Netflix- themed wedding show. Three men- Designer Thai Nguyen, chef Gabriele Bertaccini, Jeremiah Brent brings the most dreamy wedding and showcases the love stories of common men. I quote- “The quest for lights glistens our paths with hopes for better tomorrow.” The show starts with the story of Marcus and Tiffany who couldn’t have their dream wedding due to family obligations. Years later Marcus wants to redo his marriage.@chefgabebertaccini talks about being HIV positive and shares it with Marcus. This shows the connectivity between the planners and the couple.  Love at any age is proved by Mattie and Malvin who are old love birds lost in the long road. This particular show do face obstacles when winds blew high in the wedding venue. Yet nothing holds the trio back as they present one of the most dreamy weddings. I personally vouch for the wedding grown with cape- never seen orange blend with white so beautifully. @thainguyenatelier In marriage vows we say- “health and sickness” here the couple proved it. Jason and Jonathon beat cancer and today they plan to take a step ahead. @jeremiahbrent goes beyond marriage and helps them to start a family where he arranges an adoption meeting with a lawyer. The little touch of Thai as snowman adds the fun element to the show where you would find the other two laughing out loud.  The whole series ends with the couple Randy and Skyler where they fight with societal and family judgement. The trio helps them o come out and be proud of who they are and presenting a wedding where they own the crowns. Thai also talks about his life and says- I believe it will come. And we all need this belief in life which motivates us in our struggles..  8 episode each cater to one hour show… They are unique and their love stories stand apart from each other. Pick one episode and I can bet you will fall in love with the concept. It’s a sweet and simple depiction of love stories standing upright fighting all odds. 📷@thainguyenatelier @randycaplinger Credit- @jeremiahbrent @thainguyenatelier @chefgabebertaccini @netflix_in @netflix #netflix #review #sayido #wedding #weddingdress https://www.instagram.com/p/CC5Q7NYAHUD/?igshid=1w7b97tef6vy2
