Ruba's Story: A Plea from the Heart of Suffering
After a full year of war, I find myself, Ruba, living moments that could be my last. Each passing day could be our final one, as we have witnessed our friends fall one by one. Today, I ask for your help after more than 50 displacements and continuous suffering, living in a state of constant fear and unending bombardment.
Death passes before us daily, and the situation has become akin to the horrors of Judgment Day. We live in indescribable fear and terror, as if we are trapped between the walls of death. STORY
"Val'ty (Jez'rathki) was investigating the source of the earthquakes threatening her homeland, the city of聽Tu'narath in the astral plane.聽
Following a clue, the Vlaakith's devotee聽got her hands on a聽heretical Githyanki disc revealing that Susurrus (Her Queen's palace) is the culprit for the series of tragedies on her land.
However, reporting the findings to his superiors led to the end of the research, the destruction of the disk, and an unfortunate visit from the Queen's inquisitors.
Soon, evidence of Jez'rathki's treason surfaced.
Now, rescued from near death and brought back by rebels, Jez'rathki wakes up in a strange stronghold,聽but one thing is certain, she still knows the disk's truth, but not sure of what to do聽with the dangerous聽information."

MyHouse.WAD rambling time
Okay, so I've been kinda smitten with the newest topic the internet has latched onto, mainly because it's a mix of narrative twisting, liminal spaces and DOOM.
I haven't been so fortunate as to play MyHouse.WAD myself, but BOY HOWDY DO I KNOW A LOT ABOUT IT ANYWAY.
Probably the saddest part of my knowledge about this shit is that I went full House of Leaves on a copy of the automap (which you shouldn't really have, but WADs need to have map geometry somewhere.
Big spoilers for MyHouse.WAD ahead! Read on at your own peril!

Still here? It appears you're quite brave. Well, let us delve into the map of the House.

Among the map of the House, you might notice where, and what I've written. I won't spoil it. Delve into the file for yourself, see my 3AM ramblings.
You can see the main thing I latched onto, clear as day:
"Happiness has to be fought for."
And why shouldn't I? It's arguably the most profound message this map gives you. At the top, there's a small summary I gave about MyHouse, and its inner workings. Quote:
The house. All orientations are displayed in the grid, and are highlighted by orange. Utilises silent teleports and UDMF features to slowly but surely drive you insane trying to track down everything within the confines of its walls. It leads everywhere, and nowhere.
I know, chilling. right? Looking at the writings, you'd think I was only half there when I wrote them.
Probably the only other massively chilling thing is the message for disabling IDDQD (god mode for those uninitiated into the circles of Ye Olde Doom):
There is no good outcome from a house fire.
AND BOY, DOES IT SURE LIKE TO REMIND YOU OF THAT FACT IF YOU GO AHEAD WITH IT ANYWAY!
Ending 1 is the creepiest bit of the house's machinations. You trip the breaker, the lights go dark, and suddenly, you hear screaming from above you. Children, adults, who knows, all you know is that the air is thick with smoke, and they just keep screaming. You can't find them upstairs, so you check back downstairs, only to notice...
The walls have changed. The house is no longer wallpaper and carpet. The only thing remaining on the house's walls is the windows, and they show that even the garden has changed. Where there was plant life, there is now only stalagmites. Going to the boiler room shows you the garage door has returned... but it doesn't lead to the garage.
I'm leaving that there. If you want to play MyHouse.WAD for yourself, please, as a reminder, use GZDoom, not DOOM II: Hell On Earth. As much as the original was good, the WAD is just a bit too chunky for it to run in the original game. DOS software is only so powerful, after all.

Thanks to the help from @Sebas54el , more improvements have been made! The reloading effect has now been fully incorporated, crit spots only appear when hovering over enemies, and the health recovery now plays the proper sfx!

The Githyanki map and an idea about the community

"Githmap" is the silly way I'm calling my GZdoom map for now.聽
It's is short map where you explore a Githyanki stronghold in first person (playing as a Githyanki as well), made in the Doom Engine. I don't have plans to release it for now, as I'm making it in a way to learn GZdoom.
But because I'm thinking a lot about my Gith OC's聽Jez'rathki, Draa'zvir and a lot of cool characters made by聽other kind聽Gith-enjoyers聽I'm considering not making this short map as something about me and only for myself but something for the community, a small gift perhaps, I will try to explain my idea below:

Imagine something that looks like Daggerfall but it is just a simple short visit to a virtual museum where you can explore a bit, see the paintings of other people's OCs on the walls, and talk to other Githyanki OCs to know their lore, their favorite food, besides getting the their creators @ (if they want).
That's my idea, reaching out to more Githyanki/Githzerai fans out there and asking if they want to add their OC character as a guest appearance, or opening a way to let everyone sign to participate with their GithOC.
The stronghold from my map is formed by rebels, spies, and simple Gith seeking sanctuary, with the context being inspired by "The Lich-queen's beloved".聽
I still need to prepare a mini Tutorial on how to get the raw assets ready for me to export them to GZdoom (As I'm doing all the code) for everyone interested in having their OC there.
I don't feel so comfortable now reaching everyone without everything ready (just give a time to prepare a better post)聽
But I can share the basic concept of how it works:
GRAPHICS
I took screenshots of this聽character screen聽of my OCs and聽NPC's聽in 5 Directions each (So I will cut the background and convert the sprites)

DIALOGUE TREE
Every NPC OC has a dialogue tree in the Githmap. For that one, I will prepare a series of questions your OC can answer (They can be friendly or rude about it) plus you can also provide additional questions (and answers) for your own OC so I can add them as well.聽
Each question from my questionnaire is something the player character can choose to ask your OC, stuff like "What do they do for a living?", "what is their story, etc". Your custom questions can go deep on your OC story, like if you want the player to ask "What is the story behind their scars" etc.
I believe the best approach聽for now聽is making the map to be set before the events of聽BG3,聽because it would be odd if a bunch of OC's lore starts to reference聽cannon聽characters in different and聽contratitory聽ways, but It will have a few exceptions as I didn't聽decided聽everything yet (I need to add a Voss reference sorry).聽

VOICE PERFORMANCE
Just a warning: Voices are not necessary. I just adding voices if I receive then, If I don't, its fine.
My聽OC's聽and聽NPC's聽don't have voices in-game , but if someone聽want聽to add voice to their OC there's ways do to it:
Recording an mp3 of a greetings message for the player to listen to when talking with your OC for the first time.聽
Or recording some generic lines that go on most answers.
Or fully recording lines.聽
CREDITS
As a short one map fangame, I will be credited as the programmer and organizer of the project, each asset used is credited to its original authors, and each person OC and asset will also be credited in two places, in the credits and the in-game dialogue alongside the OC name (example: Draa'zvir [by @vikintor]), because if I add other people OC in the game I want other players to know who created that OC, making it more like a connected experience and giving more musseum vibes.
