HELLO EVERYONE! I'm stormee until I can think of a better username. I have always been a fan of gt with really knowing it, but then I discovered there's a whole community surrounding it! I've spent the past few weeks lurking around g/t tumblr (you guys are AMAZING!), and I'm finally ready to join the mix! I have a few ocs with a whoooole bunch of lore, so get ready!

hey. can people please stop parroting "stan only regained his memory because it's a disney show" like it's an objective fact and somehow a storytelling flaw? because that's reductionist and straight up untrue. stan regaining his memory is not a random deus ex machina, it's clearly established earlier in the season that the memory gun isn't permanent via mcgucket's storyline. as soon as mcgucket watches the tapes in society of the blind eye, he begins to gradually heal and regain his memories. it makes perfect sense that mabel's scrapbook (and in journal three, stan and ford's old home movies) would function the same way for stan.

realistically, stan probably wouldn't have remembered his entire life in the span of a week, but his recovery is obviously being condensed for the sake of pacing. there's a ton of awesome fanworks based on the idea that he's still recovering new memories long after the end of the show, particularly from the darkest period of his life when he was homeless and estranged from his family. but that's not relevant to the finale. what matters for the show's purposes is that stan remembers the events of the past summer, so that his goodbye with dipper and mabel at the end of the episode holds dramatic weight. because THAT'S HOW YOU WRITE A STORY.

Little orphan boy Danny spent most of his life without family OR friends up until this most recent year and he's a bit overwhelmed. I had in mind this might be for his bday, which he normally has negative feelings towards, but maybe changing how things were will help that along?

I rewatched The Secret World of Arriety....again. But this time I watched it with the English dub (I had only seen it in Japanese until then), and my god, it's been 3 or 4 years since I last saw this film and it was still as good as the first time, I almost cried at the end! We need more gt coded content produced by big companies, it's a necessity!!!

AND OMG, THE MUSICS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!! THIS FILM IS SOO GOOD!!!!!!! Every time I watch it I get goosebumps...

I look down at your trembling form, curled up in my palm. I'm not too sure where they found you, but I'm sorry that you were found at all. I never asked to be a part of this, but being born into a family of people-eaters isn't something anyone asks for. I have no interest in eating anyone alive, but traditions are traditions...and I worry that if I don't, someone else will definitely hurt you. The expectant, excited looks on everyone's faces are mirrored by my reluctant expression, and I study you again. I'll try to make this quick.

When I lift you up to my mouth, you don't make a sound. Even when my warm breath washes over you and you touch my tongue, you don't kick or cry out. Have you already accepted your fate as my food? I nearly choke on you when I swallow- you're so small, yet you're bigger than anything I've ever eaten. Cheers and applause ring out from my peers, but I can only focus on how strange it is to have something living sliding down my throat. It feels good, which makes a pang of guilt stir up within me. I was made for this, but I don't like it.

I can feel you slide into my stomach, still shaking out of fear. My peers congratulate me, but all of my attention is on you. I couldn't apologize then, but when I am left alone I will free you. Neither of us asked for this, and I can only hope you'll forgive me.
