I LOVE your Sidelined Au!!! You said that Leo's bone density is now a lot lower - what does that mean for his shell?

Greeeaaaat question. I tend to headcanon that their shells are much more durable than human bones as a result of their mutation (I mean they tank some pretty big hits) so while his shell definitely ended up weakened I don’t think he’s in danger of it cracking on the day-to-day or during the average fight. He does still have to be more careful than he used to, though, and they would all rather he didn’t stress test it.

There are AUs out there (like the Battlescars AU iirc) where Donnie makes Leo a battleshell, so I don’t want to feel like I’m yoinking their idea haha. But if Leo’s shell ever did crack I could see Donnie making him at the very least a light armor coating to fit over it. But it’s not what they’re as worried about. It’s more likely that Leo will break his limbs or fingers/toes or his hip than his shell.

That said it’s probably for the best if Leo doesn’t do any more shell bowling.
