thinking <3 orchestrating a messy breakup with patrick because you’re worried he’ll get bored of you, or find someone better, and it’s better for you to deal the final blow than have to go through the heartbreak of hearing everything you think in his voice.

so you make it nasty, really dig in and cut deep. you bring in his family, and his failing tennis career, and that you want someone who’s more serious, or whatever. It makes him mad enough that he fights back just as hard, that you have an excuse to sever the ties and just split ways.

Two months later you’re driving through an intersection and a car slams into the driver’s side of the car. When you wake up, Patrick’s at your bedside, holding your hand, dozing off with his head resting on the bed right next to where they’re intertwined.

You forgot he was your emergency contact, and you’re surprised he’s even there at all, but he’s there, and he’s been there for two days while you were being operated on and unconscious on pain meds.

He knows he’s not serious, that he’s always been a bit of a fuck up, but you scared the hell out of him, and he doesn’t want to keep waking up every day without you there to remind him that he may be a failure, but he got one thing right.

going to throw up patrick having the living daylights scared out of him when he thinks even for a second that you might be severely hurt - the choked panic in his chest like someone just gripped his heart and squeezed until it burst.

you don't think you've ever seen him look so torn open - wounded and tense jawed and when you murmur his name it's like light pours back into the way he's immediately at your side - your hand in his and you're just so happy to see him tears prick your eyes.

he curses. pulls you into his lap despite all the tube's connected to you and crushes you to him and you melt into him. limp and soft and he smells familiar and feels warm and it was so dark before. dark and empty and scary and you almost lost this, you think. almost lost this feeling. of his strong arms wrapped around you, solid. he rocks you back and forth gently, kisses the top of your head.

"never do that shit again." he says, his voice a fragile thing. and you could joke that it wasn't the fucking plan to get smashed into, but you dont feel like joking right at that moment. so you just squeeze him back and nod your head under his chin.

"wont." you promise. then because you cant help it, "who else would keep you humble?"

his arms tighten. he rubs his cheek against your head like he's trying to feel all of you against every part of him, bundled so tightly close to him it makes your bones ache but you don't want to move. even if it hurts a little.

patrick loves so fiercely, it always hurts a little. but you can take it. you were made to.

"no one." he says, lips at your temple now. you want him to kiss you, but that will come later. "fucking nobody else. I'm stuck with you."

he is. forever.

just had a small epiphany about aziraphale and his reading glasses in the 1941 scene. the way he fidgets with them. as @froggierboy pointed out in their post, aziraphale does (of course) not need them, never has and never will, they're just there for the Aesthetic™. but in that scene arguably they also serve as a mirror to Crowley and his glasses!! if you watch the scene where they return to the shop, where he's all happy, looking for magic books, and then twirls around and says "oh not at all, that's what... friends... are for" -- his glasses are down, in that moment, both figuratively and literally speaking. but then he stumbles over the word friend, looks down, and puts them back on. acting choices were made!!!!!!

Sigh I swear the bar is so low with writing sometimes.

I’ve just been remembering how much it bothers me when there’s no lasting consequences or acknowledgement for things. When everything resets like nothing ever happened at the start of the next episode, or even the next scene sometimes. How cool and rare it was that Wally’s arm was in a cast for a whole 5 episodes of Young Justice. How relieved/excited I was when Mulder actually still had bandages on his fingers the episode after he broke them because FINALLY something carried over! Or when Hook was leaning on someone for support in the background after the fight scene in Pan. How impressed I was to see Katniss still crying hysterically for Rue a few scenes after her death. How surprised I was to actually see a hint of the effect of Echo’s extremely traumatic experience when he panicked in the medbay. How my heart soared when he insisted on rescuing Gregor because omg he’s acting in a way that makes sense for his character! Clinging to every small scrap we get to see of clones showing real emotion when so often they seemingly never bat an eye at their losses and never mention their fallen brothers again.

I love these shows I swear, but it just gets so frustrating! Like I’ll literally be so nervous no one will be affected realistically, or react like a human, or behave in-character and then I get so excited on the rare occasions they do. And then I realize wow the bar is so low, shouldn't that just be, you know, writing 101?

Like I remember some episode of some show (the Seeker? Or something idk) where a character was captured and tortured and not ten minutes after being rescued his friend was like “hmm you sure are quiet today” like YEAH I SURE HOPE HE IS?!

THIS IS ATTEMPT NUMBER FUCKING FOUR. at answering an ask about my star projector. except this time tumblr DELETED THE ASK. anon i hope you see this im so fucking sorry, ive tried everything. it fucking hates me. luckily this time i was able to save the text so i don't have to re-type it. i do! i bought it off amazon. it is pretty pricey, but iirc, i was treating myself to a nice bday present at the time. it's the Sega Toys Homestar Flux! like i said, pretty pricey. but imo it was worth it! i know me, and ive had other star projectors of lower quality that i didn't use because i was unhappy with them. (probably due to the autism) :P

here's some of the pros/features of the thing!

comes in a SUPER pretty box that has an insert so you can transport it safely, without the projector rattling around inside willy-nilly. honestly the box is pretty enough you could display it.

high image quality

has the ability to rotate the projection at 2 speeds

has a shooting star function - it's just a thin trail of white light that slowly moves across one portion of the projection, but it's REALLY cool, despite it's simplicity, and adds a lot to the experience

has a timer that will shut off the projector automatically after either 15, 30, or 60 minutes. (it will shut off even if you don't set the timer after a few hours)

has an easy to remove tray for you to swap out out image discs comes with two discs of the night sky! just black and white stars, but one of them has constellations drawn over them :D

compatible with more image discs you can get on amazon! the one from my video was an extra i bought!

has a ring around the lens that you spin to focus your image and get a nice, crisp picture :)

but! if that's WAY too far out of your price range, here's the cheaper model! (slightly cheaper) i thought about getting this one, but there's a really good review video included in the first link - it shows someone trying out both models, and there's a visible difference in quality.

i had more typed up on the last two attempts at making this post, but this is the meat of it, honestly. only other really important bit is that if you order more discs on amazon, the images are probably gonna be a bit lower quality, just because u know… they're space photos being blown up super big. AND - if you see some scratches on a disc when you load it, no worries - once the projection is moving and you've laid down, it's pretty much invisible. (bet you didn't notice any scratches on my video, huh?)
