Jack & Joker: U Steal My Heart!

Thai - Action/Drama/Romance

Staring: Yin Anan Wong & War Wanarat Ratsameerat

Jack is a young student of Taekwondo when he meets Joke, a thief with a sense of justice. When things go terribly wrong, Jack's future is shattered and Joke bares the responsibility. Flash forward, Joke wants to atone for the damage he caused, but Jack refuses to forgive him.

This story is SO GOOD! It was a lot more fluffy and funny than we had expected from the trailer, but it doesn't mean there isn't a fair amount of pain and heavy. The show also brings up some surprisingly deep topics, like poverty, desperation, and the hopelessness of being trapped by life's circumstances.

After episode 1 left us with a lot of feelings, we expected the tone of the show to stay pretty heavy. But then we got some of the most ridiculously, over the top funny moments and characters. We love Grandma so much! There was so much to love about this series. It was a well rounded experience and we loved the ride the entire time.

Ending: 😍 HAPPY and perfect

Tears: 😭 Bring Kleenex. You break every time they do. Episode 10, I am looking at you!

Main Couple: Queer

Side Couple: Queer

Romance Scenes: You're going to be screaming for them to just kiss already, but timing/scenes are perfect for the story and characters. You can expect some good kissing scenes and a fairly spicy sex scene.

Flavor of Scenes: a little bit of extra flavor during one scene... just a taste

Heads up: Toxic parents, abuse of power, bullying, violence, violence towards children, kidnapping/captivity, suicide

Finally watching Jack & Joker...

After the first episode left me with so many feels, I was not prepared for how silly and cute parts of this show would be.

And the grandma!!! I love her so much!

Thai - Romance/Action

Staring: Ohm Pawat Chittsawangdee, Leng Thanaphon U-sinsap

Desperate for money to pay for his brother's medical treatment, Min accepts a kidnapping job. But when that job turns in to orders to kill the hostage, Min can't do it and decides to protect him instead.

Though it sounds like it could be a drama filled story, it is far from serious and way cute with little pain. The relationships are refreshing and the main story is about the characters, not the drama that occurs around them.

Watch if you want to see a cute relationship that ends with real healing.

Ending: 😍 Seriously great for so many reasons

Tears: Sad moments, and lots of on screen tears, but they didn't leave you sad for long and our eyes were dry.

Main Couple: Queer

Side Couple: Straight

Romance Scenes: Sweet and spice on screen NC scene

Flavor of Scenes: Even if the ropes don't appear in any NC scenes, we are counting them. And there is a little more flavor sprinkled through the series.

Heads up: kidnapping (duh), violence, PTSD/panic attacks, dead parents, murder, suicidal gesture

We were trying to wait to watch The Heart Killers until more episodes had been released, but we were getting too many spoilers! It's definitely entertaining, but we are not sold on these love stories yet. With exception of Bison, everyone is pursuing their own agenda and it's going to be a total train wreck when emotions get involved. Obviously the chemistry is off the charts and it's fun to watch, but we kind of just want Bison to run for the hills and skip all the pain that is surely coming his way! We just find it hard to cheer for their relationship when one of them is drugging the other to get access to their secrets.

I'm sure our feelings will change as the characters and story evolve and it will all come together and we will love the train wreck. But sometimes it's better to binge watch a show so you don't have too much time to sit and think about it before getting the big picture.

The Boy Next World

Thailand - Romantic Drama

Staring: Boss Chaikamon & Noeul Nuttarat Tangwa

Phukan is living a normal college life when one day a stranger shows up at his door and insist he is his lover from a parallel world. It seems impossible, but Cirrus knows things about Phukan that he shouldn't. Phukan decides he will help Cirrus return to his Phu, but Phukan can't help but to be drawn to the emotions Cir has when he looks at the face of the man he loves more than anyone.

Was this series perfect? No. But we are good at ignoring what we don't like and don't need a series to be perfect to love it. What it did well, it did really well. We found the story really interesting, even if we didn't get every question answered. We enjoyed a lot of the characters. And visually, this series gave us a lot that was stunningly delivered with creative shots, color and lighting. Plus the chemistry of the leads was off the charts 😍 and their acting made us live in their emotions 😭. The Boy Next World made us fall in love with someone we shouldn't, ripped us apart, and then put us back together again.

Ending: Great ending for our couples, but not willing to call this one perfect.

Tears: Oh yes. The story and actors bring the pain and it's ugly.

Main Couple: Queer

Side Couple: Queer

Romance Scenes: Bring a fire extinguisher! Boss and Noeul managed to outdo themselves in the chemistry department, which says a lot. We couldn't decide if this was a 9 or a 9.5, but it's excessively spicy. The only reason this isn't higher is because there's a big leap between this and the scale breaking 4 Minutes.

Laughing our asses off

One of us thought this was a typo and one of us look it literally 🤣 I refuse to say which!

It caused a lot of laughter and a running joke for the rest of episode 8. Guess we will have to head to twitter to find out if it was "my gaze" or if Sun and Junior will forever be "My Gays".

Also, these expressions had us rolling. Junior was hilarious and we may have needed an instant replay of this scene. Jay Sorathon is AMAZING at expressions and the GIFS are going to be great!

Favorite Things: Century of Love pt 1

Some series get better the more you think about it and this is definitely one of those. There are so many layers to this story and the characters. You expect popcorn from a story that starts with a magic rock and a goddess that is launching a BL ship, but this story ended up being an entire meal.

Century of Love is definitely going to need a re-watch. It's so easy to get caught up in the immediate action and loose focus on the complex themes woven throughout the series. Love the exploration around fate vs choice, stagnation vs growth, love and loss, trauma and healing, prejudice, forgiveness. This show gives us so much to explore and digest. Re-watching it will be so satisfying, someday, when we have the emotional bandwidth to handle all this show dishes out.

Spoilers ahead with discussions and posts about some of the many reasons we loved this series:

We are huge suckers for a red thread. This scene had us instantly hooked and smiling. @namtan gave us 😍 GIFS:

@jimmysea put together a great post showing so much of the cute Episode 6 gave us right before the story starts heaping on the pain.

Ready for more pain? Every time we revisit these scenes, it hurts all over again. But apparently we are here for the pain because we love them. @heretherebedork put together a great post about Vee not being able to say goodbye and lot go of those he loves. Ironically, the only way for Vee to save San is to let go. It hurts so much and we love it!

This scene was devastating. Everything about it was epic and so well done, we love it more than is healthy! @heretherebedork once again put together a great post highlighting some of the layers that make this scene so rich:

This scene was so bitter sweet. Both of them look like they are seconds away from shattering to pieces. 💔 This part of the story was devastating and the acting was perfect. Offroad looks like he already had a hard cry. @wanderlust-in-my-soul again gave us stunning GIFS:

This series had so many beautiful scenes, it's impossible to choose a favorite. But this scene was definitely up there. Plus the acting was equally 😍 @poetry-protest-pornography had a great post with stunning GIFS of this scene:

Century of Love

Thailand - Romantic Drama

Staring: Daou Pittaya & Offroad Kantapon

When San tragically loses the woman he loves, he will do anything to be reunited with her, even if it means spending the next 100 years in agony waiting for her to be reincarnated. But when signs point to his lost love being reincarnated as a man, San's outdated beliefs get in the way of finding happiness.

What happens when you hold on to love too tightly? What is the cost when we refuse to say goodbye? Is being alive the same as living? How can we heal when we keep reliving the wounds of the past? This series is excellent and complex and gets better the more you think about it. In addition to having a great story and characters, Century of Love is visually stunning and well acted. Highly recommend this series.

Ending: 😍🥰 We loved the ending they chose for this story and thought it was perfect.

Tears: Yep. Lots. Get ready for some pain. And once you're about half way through the series, if you need to stop watching any time soon to life/adult, we recommend doing it any time there is the slightest opportunity because it's going to be a roller coaster.

Main Couple: Queer

Romance Scenes: The sweetest, most desperately loving spice.

Flavor of Scenes: vanilla

Favorite Things: The Heart Killers pt 1

In the beginning, it was hard for us imagine, much less cheer, for any of these morally grey characters to end up together. But it didn't take long before we were falling in love in spite of our better judgement right along with these four fools. Maybe that was the point... to make us hopelessly fall in love with people we know will hurt us but turn out to be exactly what we never knew we needed! LOL!

Favorite Things: Cutie Pie

This series starts with the pain and is an undercurrent through the entire story. Yes, they are in desperate need for some clear communication, but their insecurities and fears are what cause them to tragically misunderstanding each other. This lack of understanding causes them to unintentionally hurting each other, even as they get closer and become even more desperate for the other to return their love.

The pain makes the sweet even sweeter and we love it so much! This was a re-watch for both of us and it won't be the last time. The story was really well done and the acting was great. Both really know how to bring the pain.

Even though Cutie Pie had lots of cute and silly, that wasn't what they lead with and they didn't pull any punches when it came to the tears and pain. We couldn't stop thinking about some of these beautifully acted scenes and put them together in a post:

We love how this entire show is built on the misunderstanding that neither believes the other loves them. It's easy to feel like some effective communication could have cleared this up and prevented a lot of pain, but their fear and insecurities would have stopped them from being able to accept the truth.

@dramas-vs-novels recently posted a bunch about Cutie Pie and most of the Cutie Pie posts we have come across were posted by them. So a lot of our favorites are from @dramas-vs-novels, including this one we LOVED so much!
