a/n: i didnt even realize the traction that pt. 1 recieved. i wrote this purely because of my infatuation with late night drives in the hills of california.

"here...it's my number." sounded like a distant memory. it had been exactly three years since you met iwaizumi in the hastle of the LAX airport. never in a million years did you think that you would be in this situation, cuddled up in the passenger seat of your glc coupe with the windows down, wind blowing throughout the car. moonlight spilling in through every inch of glass, the led lights illuminating the car a soft pink.

"can you please tell me where we're going?" you grumbled, splaying your legs messily on the dashboard.

"would it be a surprise if i did...oh ok." he answered, eyes shooting you a goofy smile.

"what surprise is an almost 3 hour drive." you giggle, grabbing his phone from the cup holder to play music.

sparks will fly by jhené aiko began playing, the car was calm and your breath was even, it truly felt like you had acheived the greatest state of peace.

in the 3 years, iwaizumi had managed to woo you into a relationship. you had recently moved in with each other and he decided to stay in california just a bit longer to get his doctorate in physical therapy while you finished law school, becoming an accomplished and esteemed attorney. to everyone else, it could seem like the two of you moved fast but no one would understand the love that you and iwaizumi had with each other.

recently, the two of you had a discussion about life and your goals in the future. iwaizumi knew that with his own, personal goals in mind, he wanted you by his side and he was willing to make sacrifices in order for that to happen. you admitted the same, which eventually led to iwaizumi planning this elaborate trip.

the music played, not obscurely loud but at the perfect volume. the led lights in the car shone on the best angles of iwaizumi possible. his left hand on the steering wheel, right hand firmly placed in yours and rubbing gentle circles. eyes forward, alert at the road for any possible dangers and the stubble that he refused to cut off gracing his perfectly, chiseled jawline.

"you're so handsome, haji." you muttered, eyes full of adoration for the man.

"and you're beautiful, love." he smiled, his eyes focused on the road but crinkling gently at the edges, signalling his content. "if you're tired, you can sleep. your blanket is right under the seat." squeezing your hand gently, he noticed the tiredness floating around in your eyes. you mumbled a quick thanks before pulling his wrist up to gently press a kiss on it and covering yourself with the fluffy blanket.

"i love you...so much." you whispered, before fading off into a comfortable sleep.

iwaizumi smiled deeper, only solidifying his decision as you slept peacefully next to him. the ride continued like that, the windows now rolled up, the music reverberating gently throughout the vehicle and the lights now set unto a soft blue tone. your hand wrapped in his as you slept comfortably. when you arrived at your destination, you were softly shaken awake, eyes blinking back tiredness when you saw the beautiful scenery that greeted you from the open car door.

the pine trees with light snow sprinkled atop their leaves, the driveway that looked freshly shoveled and the beautiful cabin that laid in wait of your arrival. your loving boyfriend, with bags and suitcases in hand, holding your door.

the night had ended quickly as you left the car, the two of you shared a quick meal of fast food that iwaizumi picked up right before you arrived before washing up and falling asleep quickly. iwaizumi had a day full of activities planned, as a kickstart for your sporadic vacation.

it was nearing the last day of your trip and iwaizumi had some elaborate surprise acitvity that he felt the need to disappear all day for.

"just relax for a bit and then be ready by 8, trust me." was all he said before disappearing out the door of the cabin. as it neared 8, you began to grow anxious. you hadn't seen iwaizumi all day and it was unlike him to leave you alone for this long, especially in an unfamiliar area. your mind was silenced when you heard the door to the cabin open and his soft footsteps padding into the room.

you emerged from the bathroom, earrings in your hand as you hobble into your shoes. his eyes blown with love as he takes in your appearance, absolutely gone for you. he kisses you on your forehead quickly.

"you look...unreal, baby. like, wow." his eyes bright as he wraps his arms around your waist gently.

the car rolled up to a secluded area, a clearing in the forest with a beautiful view of the frozen over expanse of big bear lake. the trees were sparsely decorated with fairy lights, a blanket spread neatly on the floor and decorative flowers spread across the blanket. candles illuminating the area with their warm light and two empty plates rested in the center.

"oh...wow. haji, this is-" you started, your eyes wide and your heart pounding in gratitutde. absolute thankfulness for the man that is hajime iwaizumi.

"wait. compliment me after this." he smiles and sends a playful wink, a hint of nervousness leaking through his words before he pulls out the bouquet of assorted flowers. ranging from babys breath to your most favorite flowers.

"wow...haji this is. it's perfect. thank you." you smile before grabbing the flowers and kissing him softly.

"sit..." he mumbles, motioning towards the set up. you hobble over, sitting cross legged on the blanket, smile absolutely radiating in the warm lights of candles and cheap string lights.

"you know...3 years ago, i don't think i would ever imagine myself being in this position. i never thought a simple airport crush would ever turn into this....such a deep feeling and experiences i couldn't ever fathom." iwaizumi starts, he's walking towards you slowly before he pauses in front of the blanket.

"y/n, i love you and i know i tell you everyday but i truly and genuinely feel so deeply for you. i care about you and i want to give you everything. you deserve the world and absolutely everything in between. i may not have definite plans for the future but i know whatever opportunities i'm given, i want you. i want you by my side for all of it. i'd be so lucky to experience that...which is why, i have to ask." he pauses before reaching into the pocket of his straight legged pants and kneeling quickly.

"yn ln, would you please do me the absolute honor of spending the rest of our lives together." the ring is suddenly brandished in front of you, iwaizumi's face positively tearing up, the sheer adrenaline of the situation flowing through his body.

your eyes prick with tears, hands shaking as you reach out to touch the ring, pleading for tangible proof that this was real. the moment you had been begging to happen, that you had waited for was finally here. before your words could register, tears were falling as you nodded rapidly. hands reaching out to throw yourself onto iwaizumi before whispering in his ear.

"yes. in every universe, i would say yes." you mumble, head buried in the crook of his neck.

a/n: i want you all to be aware the proposal bit was soooo impromptu and i never planned for it to exist but, alas. it did and im glad it did. i teared up writing it bcs my favorite love song of all time began playing and it tore my heart up. anyways timeskip iwa ily.

How waa 2022 for non-Superman DC comics?

Running through the other major Leaguers and a few others:

Batman - Unusually for Batman it was a mixed year. Film wise he of course did great, The Batman kicked off a new cinematic incarnation to widespread critical approval and solid commercial success. Multiple spinoffs set in that universe are in the works for HBO Max. Comics wise he (or his extended supporting cast) has a book for everyone and they run the gamut of great to crap. Shockingly his The Caped Crusader animated series instead of Superman's is the one that got sent on the road to find a home elsewhere, instead of on HBO Max and CN as originally planned. It looks like Amazon Prime will likely be where that lands but no official confirmation yet. Video game wise Gotham Knights flopped hard, getting mediocre reviews and even worse sales from what I've seen. There's also that terrible CW show of the same name still coming.

Wonder Woman - Historia carried her hard, being a truly legendary story that I think easily deserves to be the definitive origin for her and the Amazons. Outside of that her comics were mediocre, and of course WW3 got cancelled. Jenkins is finished and it looks like Gadot will be too, with her cameos in the movies coming this year serving as her swan song. At least the Monolith video game is safe for now.

The Flash - Adams' Wally book remained good and Barry's role in Dark Crisis was fine. Barry really shone in the Voidsong mini, I'd love to see that creative team do more with him, Miller of course made headlines but I expect most people didn't notice or care and that it won't really negatively impact the upcoming movie's box office performance.

Green Lantern - I enjoyed Thorne's GL run but man did plenty of people hate it. Still between Thorne and the Dark Crisis tie in issue, I think John had a good year. Hal came in second with decent usage in Dark Crisis. Jo came in third with her half of Thorne's book using her well. Rest of the GLs didn't get shit and Thorne's big massacre of the GLC got promptly undone, which even as a fan of Thorne I'm fine with because the GLC being on the verge of extinction is a plot I don't want to see anymore.

Aquaman - Probably his worst one since the Johns reboot. Attempts to push Jackson and Black Manta into the lead roles flopped hard. Neither the Jackson nor the Black Manta minis sold well, and the Aquamen mini it was all leading up to didn't even debut in the top 100 issues sold for the month it launched if memory serves me. I don't know what DC editorial, Brandon Thomas, or Chuck Brown were thinking but man did they totally shoot themselves in the foot. At least Aquaman & The Flash: Voidsong by Lanzig and Kelly ruled, that was Arthur's only comic win. Oh and WBD took the Aquaman: King of the Seas miniseries off of HBO Max, either to sell it to Amazon Prime or use it as a tax write-off.

Titans - They were terrible as always. Titans Academy ended with a whimper as yet another bold new direction for the franchise failed to take off.

JSA - Hey they finally got a new book!.. which is far more interested in Hypertime, Watchmen, and Huntress/Batman bullshit than it is in the actual JSA so far. Oh and it's been hit by delays too because it wouldn't be a Johns book without those! Least they had a great showing in Stargirl, both the show and the comic.

Black Adam - Hahaha oh Lord what a fucking disaster his push ended up being. The Rock indeed helped facilitate a change in DC's hierarchy by tanking at the box office, and making it easy for Gunn to cut ties with him. Priest's Black Adam was the only good thing to come out starring him, which is half a great character study on what a monster Adam is and half whatever the hell Priest is doing with Malik. Series lost it's star artist in Sandoval the minute it became clear the movie was a bust (not that I'm complaining), and Dark Crisis hilariously ended with an explicit Rock homage. Unless Johns once more fishes his boy from the wreckage after Priest's mini wraps up, I think Adam is due a benching for a while.

Novo Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé já na Soc. Com. C. Santos

A segunda geração do Mercedes-Benz GLC ganhou um novo membro com a chegada da variante Coupé. Esta nova versão já pode ser observada nas instalações da Sociedade Comercial C. Santos.

Lançado poucos meses depois da variante SUV (X254), o Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé (C254) tem dimensões que realçam o seu visual dinâmico e musculado. Com um comprimento de 4,763 mm, é 31 mm mais comprido e 5 mm mais alto do que o seu antecessor. A largura do eixo dianteiro foi aumentada em 6 mm (agora com 1,627 mm), enquanto a do eixo traseiro foi aumentada em 23 mm (agora com 1,640 mm). O maior comprimento do veículo beneficia a distância entre eixos e as projeções da dianteira e da traseira. A largura do veículo foi mantida igual à do antecessor em 1,890 mm.

Com um compartimento de bagageira com uma capacidade ainda superior à do antecessor, o GLC Coupé está preparado para grandes viagens: 545 litros (mais 45 litros do que o modelo antecessor) a 1,490 litros (mais 90 litros) nas versões híbridas parciais e 390 a 1,335 litros nas versões híbridas plug-in.

Apesar das maiores dimensões exteriores, o novo GLC está mais ágil, devido ao eixo traseiro direcional. Com esta tecnologia, que faz parte do equipamento de série, o ângulo de direção no eixo traseiro é de at�� 4,5 graus. Além disso, há uma relação de direção mais direta no eixo dianteiro.

I came across some of geoffrey thornes opinions from twitter, and I dont think the man knows the difference between personally not liking a character and calling the character boring. Its just super funny to say Hal and Alan are uninteresting, when the reason the other green lantern characters exist is due to their original popularity.

i love his dedication to tweeting about parallax being the only interesting thing to ever happen with hal on an yearly basis but all jokes aside, i've never agreed with anyone more

hal's endless parade of minimum wage jobs, the years when he was living out of motel rooms or on friends' couches, the road trip with ollie and all that came out of it are certainly highlights of the character and a great big contribution to what makes him himself but beyond that, and unfortunately that's the vast majority of the time, hal's a space cop with the personality of a cardboard cutout. parallax is not only what sets him apart from comic book heroes as a whole, the earliest legitimate exploration of what the guardians' lack of emotional intelligence & sympathy can lead to or even a look at the underbelly of heroics a la identity crisis before identity crisis was even a glimmer in brad meltzer's eyes but it's also the very first time we're directly confronted with hal's humanity

and geoff johns, whose fanboy-ism is so well known he might as well have been a member of H.E.A.T. (see: hal's emerald attack team, the most ridiculous fanboy campaign of all time), wanted to write a character who was so thoroughly heroic, so unfailingly morally pure that he couldn't have possible fallen prey to the madness of all-encompassing grief without an outside influence. similarly, grant morrison wanted to write a pulp-y sci-fi story that played fast and loose with enough continuity gags to draw in longtime readers and took space cop to new extremes. even back in the sixties, hal suffers so thoroughly from abysmally dated writing in a way alan's '41 series inexplicably does not

hell, the early half of the nineties run is good enough and even there you can tell the inherent tension to the series is hardly hal slowing down & growing old (which was the very intentional case with ollie queen over in the green arrow title running at the same time) but the writers realising the book's getting stale with the whole space cop shtick to the point that the solicitations for emerald twilight described nothing even in the vicinity of what we actually ended up with before gerard jones was thankfully booted off the book and ron marz brought in. so far, marz is the only one to have understood hal's potential and gone through with it all the way!

without parallax, hal is boring. his early popularity & what led to the green lantern franchise as we know it is barely owed to who hal was as a person back in the day and much more to the popularity of sci-fi in the sixties and julie schwartz's incredible ability to release just the right book at the right time. by then, alan scott was largely forgotten and had been unceremoniously kicked off his solo book by a stray dog twenty years prior when the appeal of comic books dwindled massively after the war. certainly there's merit to talk of legacy but if we're legitimately talking about real life context, "the glc exists because hal isn't boring" doesn't pass as the most compelling of arguments

i'd give geoffrey the benefit of the doubt regarding his comment about alan (which could also be read as including alan despite him being a non-traditional green lantern, not because he's enough of a snoozefest to rival hal) but even without that, what alan has become in the modern era is hardly as exciting as the absolutely magnificent writing he'd benefitted from once

frankly, i'm grateful we've got a writer with a genuine taste for innovation on the current ongoing green lantern title and i think geoffrey thorne is not only taking the series in the direction it's needed for so long but he's managed to make me love characters whose very existence i'd previously been opposed to and i'd call that the signs of a job well done, not to mention he's had callbacks to both pre-retcon parallax and the starheart's return to form as the oldest magic in the universe so if/when hal and alan are brought back into the limelight we can rest assured it'll be the best versions of them

GLC Traverse City Turn—Keystone Road and River Road

This is the Great Lakes Central TC Turn, heading its way back up the branch line toward the main at Walton Junction; this line was formerly the Grand Rapids and Indiana, and later the Pennsy.
