This episode was so expertly done like I cannot get over it. We're so used to the "tv/movie rule" that if we didn't see the death or don't see the dead body than the character didn't die. The man is dead. They set up health issues since the first season, he's under a lot of stress. The previous episode they put him in a room with all of his kids and it wasn't a screaming match. That was their goodbye. It all makes sense.

To not see him go down also makes sense. We are in the same position as the kids. Is he actually dead? What's happening now? Put the camera on the person doing chest compressions! Are they still doing chest compressions? Where is the plane headed? Is he breathing? What happened in the bathroom exactly? The kids don't know and neither do we. Brilliant, phenomenally executed.

The writers heard we would celebrate once Logan dropped dead and they said oh yea? BET! Here's Shiv calling him daddy, sobbing, saying I love you. Here's Roman constantly telling Logan he loves him, saying he was a good dad then 10 minutes later questioning if he said I love you to his dad. Here's Kendall saying he can't forgive him but loves him and here's Connors immediate reaction being "he never liked me." Here's your celebration.

I think there is something so fuckin admirable about how much heart and soul Pedro puts into the characters he plays no matter the size of the role?? This dude can literally play any role and he makes it look so fuckin easy. I’m especially enjoying his role as Joel because the father daughter connection that is being built between him and Ellie is STUNNING. I still am thinking about those sniper scenes and how him and Ellie were silent communicating. The fear in his eyes when he sees the kid clicker climb in the car?? The subtle nod when Ellie goes to save Sam and Henry and she knows Joel has her back?? Bro, this show is fucking RUINING me. It has been such a long fucking time since I have seen two characters on the same wave length as this. Hats off to Pedro and Bella because holy shit, they’re fuckin badasses man.

I really like that, in the show, Joel doesn’t find Ellie until she’s finished killing David. The scene in the game is sweet, of course, but in the show, she gets to give him exactly what he deserves and nothing stops her until she’s satisfied. She takes back her autonomy exactly how she wants to. Violently and without remorse, and she gets all the time she needs to do that. Good for her.

It really sucks these two can’t qualify for Emmys, because this whole scene deserves one. When it first starts, Marta is tense and rigid, but as soon as she realizes it’s Fina…the brick wall comes down and the flood gates open.

Fina’s hold is almost like a rescue buoy, combined with a gentle “Shhhhh”, it immediately grounds Marta. Marta becomes one with Fina, melting into Fina. She’s able to let go, and latch on to Fina’s touch. Once she knows she’s safe, Marta finally is able to calm down.

Through this whole scene, as sad as the reason is behind it, you can see Marta lighten because the love of her life is right behind her.

And Marta saying that something as simple as Fina’s smile was enough medicine to get her through the day?

This sequence is the definition of ✨MASTER CLASS✨ 👏🏻
