Bro but can you PLEASE do a rant post about Josh. It’s just so hard to keep track of this boy because he’s just all over the place like???? I can’t even keep up with this man

Lmao well, you haven’t missed out on anything really, because that’s just what’s been frustrating everyone for the past few years. Ever since Hunger Games wrapped, Josh has kind of…dropped off the radar. I’ve said this a few times, but I was expecting him to take off running with THG’s fame and attention. I was hoping that he would use the energy he got from that franchise and send himself upwards onto bigger and better things. I think that was the general consensus with the fandom actually. Everyone just wanted to see him SUCCEED, gdit.

Like, we all knew good and well that he could create Award Season worthy work. We knew perfectly well that he was talented, and at the time of THG, he definitely seemed to have the drive, the energy, and the passion for his craft. So we were all rubbing our hands in anticipation like yaaas, where is this LITTLE LOVABLE DANDELION GOING TO GO NEXT. COME TOGETHER. GET YOURSELF AN ACADEMY AWARD SIR.

…Buuutttt instead, he went in the complete opposite direction??? Instead of getting more roles and getting himself out there, he seemed to like, take numerous steps back? His attention turned to smaller projects, and the amount of projects he was accepting definitely took a dive as well. Like, look at his IMDb page. From 2008 to about 2013-2014ish, he was a FIREBALL. 2012 especially man. That seemed to be a hoppin’ year for THG cast members honestly.

Now though? It has tapered off severely. The only really creditable thing after MJ2 is Futureman; everything else is either a very small role, or something that had a very limited release, or something that will never see the light of day. So that’s just it really. The ONLY thing he’s really done after THG is Futureman.

Soooo that’s got his fans a bit ANGERY lmao. Personally, I had expected him to take a break after MJ, but only for like a year or so, man. I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt for the longest time. Like okay, he’s in his twenties, maybe he just needs a breather. But then…IT NEVER STOPPED LOL? I was like…if he stretches this any longer, he’ll lose that good THG momentum. Annndd here we are coming into 2019 and he’s just…pretty stagnant.

AND ON TOP OF ALL THIS, he’s being super weird about promoting himself now, and also with how he presents himself. Like, if he was just doing Futureman, but was really passionate about it, energetic, enjoying himself, etc, that might be a different story. If we saw him posting cute pictures to a personal IG, and promo pictures to a work IG? If we saw him being active in GENERAL? It’d be tight.

Buuuuttt nope. The main stuff from him the past few years has been little appearances at parties with his friends, or the usual-

He hasn’t really been giving anyone anything to cling on to, or to get behind him for, or to just…be a FAN of anymore. So this made ME start to back off a little. That, and I’ve been conditioned as a Veteran Joshifer Shipper™ to just ignore anything Spain related lmao….SO UH, THAT MEANS I’VE BEEN BLOCKING OUT/MISSING QUITE A BIT AS WELL.

And in doing so actually, I missed out on something he was doing that was pissing people off even more. I talked to some lovely ladies here in the fandom to get the Inside Scoop, and bypass the Jodi Filters™/talk about the Spain happenings to get the tea lmao. So okay, Josh FINALLY does an interview right. He FINALLY sits down with someone and actually has the opportunity to talk about his work, his projects, his PASSIONS. And instead? He talks about Claudia, and Spain, and everything that he’s been presenting to his fans for the past few years ANYWAY.

That’s why everyone is so pissed with the new podcast that came out. They wanted to hear him actually talk Futureman, actually talk his plans for the future, actually talk about his supposed PASSION. But no, it was predominantly about Claudia. Which like, yay supportive boyfriend whatever. EXCEPT, people didn’t sign up for that. They didn’t want to listen to the podcast for Claudia. They wanted to listen to the podcast for Josh. They’re HIS fans, not hers. They want to hear about HIS work, HIS ideas, HIS happenings on set and what not. 

“Well Jodi,” says the Devil’s Advocate, “What’s wrong with him being a supportive boyfriend? Is he not allowed to talk about his girlfriend?”

Well yeah, sure, except…After getting the tea from people, and realizing how much he’s suddenly focusing on her now, it’s just…weird? I mean, they’ve always been weird lmao. I’ve always felt kind of just…OFF about them, even with the NOTP glasses removed lol.

Here’s the thing; Josh used to be very insistent on keeping his private life just that; PRIVATE. There was the longest time where he didn’t even confirm he was dating Claudia, or even mention anything relating to their relationship. He kept them very private, aside from his trips to Spain of course, while maintaining a presence in the industry and with his fans.

But now it’s seemingly flip-flopped? It’s like, he’s presenting his PRIVATE life 90% of the time, and work related stuff 10%. And of course there’s all sorts of tea regarding her using him for attention, fame, etc, but that’s something I DEFINITELY haven’t looked far enough into to properly discuss. After talking to people though and getting more information, I do find it a bit strange that all of this Talk has seemingly increased now that Claudia has more attention being thrown her way? And don’t even get me started on how he seems to do everything and get nothing back. 

And the strange dynamic they seem to have going on is frustrating people even more. They think he’s being used, or putting all of his eggs in LITERALLY ONE basket. That he’s focusing ENTIRELY on her now, and not his friends, family, career, etc. I mean, he did say on the podcast that his friends were pissed with him for cutting them off when he went to Spain. sooooOOOO IDK MAN IDK, IT’S JUST…SJDKLSJDLS WEIRD.

Regardless of what’s going on, it’s frustrating, frustrating to everyone. It’s almost like the Mutual Disappointment towards Josh has brought people together lmao; I’ve seen people agreeing with each other who used to be on quite opposite sides of the opinion spectrum. 

TL;DR, he’s barely working anymore, nor is he presenting himself well. Anything he does present deals with his girlfriend, or partying, or things he never would have brought to such the limelight a few years back. Maybe it has to do with the fact that he’s not working as much, so the only things he can really show IS his private life. But like...goodness gracious, Joshua; GET BACK OUT THERE THEN.

ME, PERSONALLY, I’ve still got a tiny glimmer of hope for him. After adoring him and following him for so long, I can’t really BRING myself to throw him completely to the side. So I’m going to be just…watching for Actual Things To Get Excited For lmao, and hoping and praying his fiery film spirit that I originally stanned him for will return soon. I want him to get out of all of this SO so bad. I miss the old him, THE Josh Hutcherson. I really do.

4. What is Kageyama’s preferred weather?

- Surprisingly, Kageyama doesn’t like sunny weather. At all.

- For him, it’s the absolute worst thing.

- He think that sunny weather is way too annoying and hot and stuffy and gross.

- Plus, going out for morning runs in sunny weather is like wearing 10 jackets in hell.

- Like you can put on an extra layer if you’re cold but you can’t just strip naked if you’re hot.

- Oh my god he hates it so much it pains him to even think about it.

- He likes rainy days.

- Definitely not his favourite though.

- Rainy days usually mean staying home for the entire day.

- He can just laze around in his house, do whatever he wants.

- The sound of rain against glass windows soothes him.

- The constant sounds of droplets hitting the windows give him a sense of tranquility and peace.

- He will quite literally, fall asleep to those sounds.

- However rainy days do have their drawbacks.

- One of them, is having to stay home.

- Kageyama likes going for runs just to take in some fresh air, but that won’t work when it’s raining cats and dogs now will it.

- Plus, it means everything he does is restricted in his house unless he can get to an indoor gym that’s open.

- Boring.

- So he prefers windy days, when the cold breeze grazes his skin and the sun hides behind the fluffy clouds.

- It’s those days where he doesn’t have to suffer the heat that the sun brings upon him, nor does he have to suffer the feeling of rainwater dripping from the tips of his hair.

- He can do whatever he wants and still feel at ease and comfortable.

- Quite literally everything he asks for in a day.

6. Favourite music?

- Let’s be real, Kageyama probably isn’t good at music.

- He can’t dance or sing to save his life.

- However, he does enjoy how listening to music calms his nerves and gives him a chance to relax, even if he’s in a situation where he should be focused on an assignment or a piece of class work.

- People would expect him to enjoy listening to EDM or alternative rock, but no.

- This boy likes to listen to lofi and love songs.

- This doesn’t mean that his playlist only consists of these two genres, but the majority of songs in his playlist are either chill lofi beats or songs that give you the feels.

- Some of his favourite artists are Jeremy Zucker, Blackbear, Conan Gray, Billie Eilish, Lauv, Clairo, Wallows, Khalid, BENEE, Post Malone, Coldplay, Rex Orange County, Green Day, Shiloh Dynasty, Kina, love-sadKID, and the Arctic Monkeys.

- Has like 5 different playlists for different moods and events.

- One for moody times, one for study beats, one for when he wants throwbacks, one for firing him up before volleyball matches, and one for if he ever has to DJ in the front seat of someone’s car.

- Prefers to listen to music by himself.

- You’re an exception though.

- If he’s with you, you get one earbud, but he’ll be the one choosing the music still.

- You two have pretty contrasting tastes when it comes to music.

- He likes softer songs and lofi the most, whilst you prefer old rock and alternative rock. Oh and also a lot of throwback songs.

- I feel like Kageyama has definitely cried to a few songs when he was going through hard times.

- To him, listening to music is also a way of releasing all the inner conflict and frustrations.

- (Spoiler for backstory) When his grandfather died, he put Fix You on loop for at least 20 minutes.

- He was just numb, curled up into a ball on his bed, staring at the wall. He couldn’t feel anything. Nothing in his mind registered properly. All he could think of, was everything his grandfather had taught him, before he eventually passed away.

- Submerging himself into the melancholy song he was listening to, he didn’t even feel the tears that were now streaming down his face.

- The salty tears were now staining his pillow, creating little wet spots.

- He listened to every single lyric in the song, clutching his sheets harder every time the chorus came up.

- He punched his mattress repeatedly, still unable to accept the fact that someone he held so dear to his heart had just left like the wind.

- It wasn’t long until he was a sobbing mess, shaking and whimpering as he knelt on the bed.

- Silently sang to the lyrics, plopping back to his bed in defeat.

- His sister lingered in front of the door for five whole minutes, eventually leaving to let Kageyama sort out his feelings himself.

- You introduce a ton of new songs to him, since he doesn’t know that much about anything else other than lofi and sad songs.

- Just please no one let him listen to Nickleback. Please. He doesn’t need to know about it.

8. Movie that he would choose for a move nigh?

- The monthly Karasuno volleyball team movie night was finally here, and it was Kageyama’s turn to choose a movie this time, much to Tsukishima’s dismay.

- He’s put a lot of thought into this, not wanting to disappoint his teammates by choosing a shitty movie.

- He basically tried to figure out what everyone wanted to watch.

- However, everyone had very contrasting requests.

- Tsukishima wanted to watch Jurassic Park, Yamaguchi wanted a Disney movie, Hinata wanted something Marvel, Tanaka and Nishinoya wanted a horror movie, (Mainly so they could hit on you whilst you were still single) Sugawara wanted a romcom, Yachi wanted a comedy, and the others were fine with anything.

- He stressed himself out way too much trying to choose one movie.

- He finally got an idea after 3 entire days of thinking.

- And it wasn’t anything the team expected.

- Kageyama pulled up with Pulp Fiction.

- He’s seen that movie at least 5 times already.

- It was the perfect mix of comedy, gore, action, and philosophy.

- Plus, anything that starred Samuel L Jackson was worth a watch.

- Till this day, it remains one of his go to movies, alongside any MCU movie. (Captain America: The First Avenger is definitely his favourite though.)

12. Something small that they enjoy?

- One of the two small things Kageyama enjoys doing is baking cookies.

- Cookies in particular.

- I mean, there really is no detailed explanation.

- He’s pretty good at baking in general, even Tsukishima enjoys the cookies he bakes.

- Plus, he gets to dip the cookies in milk, what’s there not to enjoy?

- Another little thing he enjoys a lot is actually photography.

- Most the time, when he sees a pretty sky, or a city street at nighttime.

- He can’t help himself but snap a few photos here and there.

- Something about a well shot photo just hits different.

- Sometimes, he brings his camera out just to takes nice photos.

- Whenever you two are on dates, he’ll be able to capture candid or motion shots of when you’re just looking out the window of a bus mindlessly, or when you’re twirling around on the street playfully.

- Photos speak a thousand words, and honestly? He lives by that.

14. What is enough to bring him to tears?

- Support.

- Kageyama really needs support from someone he cares about.

- And no, not like support from his teammates.

- That’s different from hearing someone cheer from the stands.

- (Spoiler for backstory) Kageyama’s parents never gave much attention to him, since they were always busy with work. The only person that ever showed support for him was his grandfather, who passed away while he was still young.

- As if that wasn’t enough shit directed towards Kageyama, his teammates abandoned him during a match in junior high not long after the death of his grandfather.

- Which means that Kageyama now has lowkey abandonment issues.

- All through his volleyball journey he never got the support and reassurance he needed.

- He watched in envy as people from opposing teams, or even his own teammates, waved at their family members after they won or lost a match.

- All he could do was stare at the stands, hoping to catch just a glimpse of a family member.

- Nothing.

- Nobody realised how alone Kageyama felt during and after matches, until they watched him break down in tears after a particular match.

- It was the Spring Match against Seijoh, and Karasuno was playing like normal.

- Kageyama was insanely good as usual.

- What he didn’t notice then, was that you had dragged his sister Miwa to the match just so you both could cheer for him.

- In addition to that, you were also wearing his jersey.

- It wasn’t until the final point was scored, did he hear you and Miwa scream from the stands.

- Hearing the familiar voices, his head basically snapped in your direction, scanning the stadium for someone familiar, before landing his eyes on you and his older sister.

- His eyes widened for a hot second, his mind running in circles.

- Nobody has ever cheered for him.

- But here you two were, cheering for him from the stands.

- And you were wearing his jersey.

- A hand went up to cover his mouth, a huge grin spreading.

- One drop.

- Two drops.

- Then came the waterworks.

- The entire team was shocked.

- Like shookth.

- The two of you ran down to the arena, engulfing Kageyama in a huge hug.

- Best moment of his fucking life.

- From then on, the Karasuno team members made sure to notify you of any matches they had against other schools, hoping you and Miwa could go cheer.

- You two haven’t missed a single match since.

Once again this episode starts off with Dany shooting Jon glances, yet not having them returned. Tragic

The Northerners reactions to Dany riding up were gold. She looked so put off at not having people immediately bowing to her and I’m living for it

Loving that the “apology” to Tyrion was more of a flippant oh, yeah sorry about that than something more heartfelt like the leaks were making it out to be. 

I CACKLED when I saw that Bran was still out in the courtyard. Like someone wheel his ass inside, it’s cold out here! Poor kid

I don’t think Jon meant that “Sansa thinks she’s smarter than everyone” line as a jab against her. To me it came off as an offhand joke and as other’s have already pointed out, I think it was more of a reflection of what Jon believes Sansa thinks of him than anything else.

Also the fact that he even had to ask Arya if she ever had to use Needle shows how he doesn’t realize that they’ve all changed so much and even after the last two seasons I think this is a major reason why he seems to forget how capable and smart Sansa really is. Jamie and Sansa aren’t the only slow learners, it seems

But with that being said, STARK SISTERS STICKING UP FOR EACH OTHER 2K19!!

I’m her family too. Poor insecure bb Jon. I think this line gives insight to a lot of his insecurities and why he and Sansa butt heads often.

The dragon riding scene wasn’t as bad as I thought it’d be. It’s definitely setting up the fact that Rhaegal is bonded to Jon now and it’s all happening before the parentage reveal gets out. Interesting.

Jon and Sansa arguing? HERE FOR IT. I really liked the way Jon said “I brought home two armies and two dragons.” To me, it came off very much like he was saying I’ve done all of this, what more can I do to earn your approval. He needs to be validated by her so bad and it’s so precious. Also “she’s not her father.” Ten minutes later finds out she burnt a son and father together just like her father. That’s some goooood foreshadowing right there, mhm!

I wanted to cry for Sam. I felt so bad for him. And Dany was so cold throughout the whole thing, like she couldn’t spare an ounce of sympathy but let’s be honest, no surprise there. Also, all the antis who said sam’s not gonna care!! can suck my big toe

Anyone else get the feeling that Jorah might be torn here? He owe’s Sam, feels grateful towards him but now that Dany and Sam are at odds, Jorah’s gonna be caught in the middle of this. Super interested to see how that plays out

BRAN IS STILL IN THIS FUCKING COURTYARD?!

That whole crypt scene was just odd to me. I felt like Jon was trying to rationalize to himself rather than to Sam why Dany wasn’t that bad and why he didn’t make a huge mistake in bringing her to the North because he honestly, truly believes the dragons are their last chance at survival. Doesn’t seem like someone trying to convince himself that his gf is a good person it seems like someone trying to convince himself that he didn’t acquire another threat in his quest to defeat the original threat. Poor guy just can’t catch a break.

Anyone else think that “Daenerys is our queen, that’s treason,” line sounded a little halfhearted or was it just me?

“You gave up your crown to save your people, would she do the same?” NO SHE WOULDN’T, WE LITERALLY SAW THIS HAPPEN IN SEASON 7!! THIS EXACT FUCKING SCENARIO!!

Hey man! Sorry, I’m a newbie to tumblr so I don’t know if this is the wrong way to contact you. Anyways, I just wanted to know if you had any plans to review the OVA episodes. A lot of people, including me, agree that the extra three episodes did a much better job of ending the season, as there wasn’t exactly an unnecessary conclusion, nor was the season just cut off. It felt like a lot better of an ending, so you might enjoy them if you haven’t seen them yet. You could even talk about Season 2!

basically the short answer is that no i currently don’t have any plans for future hsg videos (or really any analytical videos), the extended answer is that while i don’t really plan to make more im also not opposed to it, like, if one day i though “oh man i still wanna say this and this and this!” i could totally make more, since i got a lot of enjoyment out of making the first few (and im really glad to see so many people enjoyed watching them as well)

the super long extended answer is that you see… my first time watching hsg was such an experience that by the end of it i had so much i wanted to say about it and get off my chest, and since my sister and i have already been joking about making youtube videos for so long i thought why not. half of what i wanted to talk about was actual praise for the show and half was my own narrative of how my opinion on the show changed, going from thinking its gonna be super bad on a first glance at the promotional art to genuinely connecting with it and it becoming one of my favourite anime. so really the biggest reason why i didn’t feel a big need to make a video about the ovas was because they didn’t change my opinion about the show in any big interesting way that i wanted to talk about for hours. my opinion on it is that its more hsg and therefore i love it, but i don’t really have anything super interesting to say about it

for those of you who are Really Hungry for me talking about the ova here are some random scattered thoughts i can remember:

first to get the one negative thing out of the way: hidaka’s character after confessing really kinda stops progressing altogether and just becomes her obsessing over haruo, you think that she’ll finally get over it after she loses her match, but it just keeps going… yeah i get it’s a love triangle but its just a real shame to see her character be boiled down to this one thing (but well the last few chapters of the manga haven’t been translated yet, so theres still hope, vote Good Things For Hidaka 2k19)

now for the good stuff, i love the way they handled the arc of akira’s  teacher, having her actually realize that the way shes been treating akira is wrong and trying to fix it and give her more freedom, its really a breath of fresh air that the arc was handled so maturely when at first i was really thinking she was gonna be a cartoony villain who always tries to separate the two leads.

i really like the addition of akira’s sister into the cast, i love her interactions with akira and you can just feel the energy whenever shes on screen

i LOVEE the scene with haruo playing a dating sim lmao, really one of my biggest wishes for hsg is that they would include more scenes like this where the characters react to different games they usually don’t play, its so fuckin fun

WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS HOW MUCH I LOVE THE PLOTLINE OF HARUO MAKING A GAME BY HIMSELF AS A PRESENT FOR AKIRA, this is what his entire character has been leading up to, its perfect, also their date at the end of the last episode is so sweet, they love each other so much, i cried

like gyllenbeck didnt wanna kill parker at all. sure he always had planned to kill nick fury and maybe some civilians would get hurt in his illusion shit to sell it being real, but he really didnt wanna drag peter into it

peter finding the truth put himself and others in danger. 

from a villain perspective, ya gotta tie up loose ends. mysterio was very on-point looking for those little details and possible issues and trying to deal with them

case in point: the trippy mindfuck illusion scene to get rid of parker and the evidence. also the final scene when he notices the issue with the drones RIGHT away.

he’s smart. he dont fuck around. he has plans for plans. i dont think he’s dead. he honestly shouldnt be. if marvel says he’s dead then they are lying cowards imo lol

yeah he’s a huge jerk for tryina kill mj, ned, and all the people who know his secret but it makes sense and it isnt done just to be evil.

but like what floors me is that mysterio really could have been a hero with all that tech. he was gonna be a hero. he just did it. badly. in a very dangerous way. 

if he’d have just let his grudges go, just talked it out, he could have used all that shit to fight real villains. it worked stupid good against peter. only by a fluke did he even figure out it was fake

so yeah really good stuff. very much like comic mysterio to a letter except with a bit of a backstory change (that still hits all the necessary beats) and he doesnt seem to have actual fear gas/chemicals/robot doubles (yet). only holograms, projectors, and drones.

love the meta joke that he’s wearing a vfx suit lmao. but maybe i would have liked to see him wear the mysterio suit more instead of only holograms/a few real scenes with him wearing it but it makes sense he can’t. irl it’s a really heavy and restrictive suit.

sure, he kinda tricked peter into giving him the glasses, and it may have partly been for the power trip? but also i think he deadass thought it was safer in his hands than a KID who literally almost killed his friends a few hours earlier with it on accident so he’s not wrong. again. 

mysterio for how much of a feral, chaotic, terrifying, cunning, jerk that he was? he was the “hero” after all in the story. or at least the protagonist, kinda like infinity war thanos. he had a goal that would wake people up to the bullshit all around them and put power in the hands who made it possible in the first place. the people who know what they’re doing. 

would beck have been a villain after he won? world domination? i dont think so. i think he would havent been great with it, but i dont doubt he had decent intentions SOMEWHERE in his heart.

I hung up a list of my 10 goals for 2k18 next to my bed for the whole year and looking over it now - I definitely did not accomplish all that I set out to do. but I think 2k18 was still very important for me as a 20-smth who is still growing and learning and I think I at least wanna do a review of it so -

1. Find a full-time career job in 2k18

I have a 40 hour a week entry-level job in the public sector!! since it’s entry-level, the salary isn’t enough for my mountain of student debt. it’s been a learning experience - there are things like office politics and bureaucracy and differing expectations. I’m lucky rn that I have a lot of opportunity to grow and buff up that resume because I will find a higher-paying full-time career job in 2k19.

2. Leave my abusive family in 2k18

I have been unable to accomplish this as my salary isn’t enough for me to move out comfortably. I’m still being abused by them both emotionally and financially and I still get triggered by them - but my therapy is working!! I am learning to recognize that what they say isn’t real, and I am fighting for my boundaries (they don’t go through my mail anymore!! amazing!!) unfortunately, staying with them is the only way I can save money atm so I feel a lil stuck, which is why now I will make a tangible plan - financial and realistic - to leave my abusive family in 2k19.

3. Make real life friends, reconnect with old ones in 2k18

This is hard. I know for sure I’ve reconnected with one friend, and I’ve met up with a couple others. I know for sure my internet friends have expanded by a few people this year which is very exciting and I am making plans to visit at least one of them!! but as for real life people, I’m still slowly getting to know a couple new people my age through these friends so I will continue making real life friends in 2k19.

4. Start exercising at least once a week in 2k18

Yeesh. I managed to keep that up for about a month and a half and then couldn’t keep it up for a number of factors (ie. abusive family lmao.........). I’ve already made tentative plans to try smth different to mitigate some of those factors for the new year so I will start exercising at least once a week in 2k19.

5. Learn to read and write fluently in Punjabi in 2k18

FUCK...... I was doing so well for the first half but then I couldn’t keep going to classes after the summer due to a number of factors (ONCE AGAIN, familial abuse!!!!!!!) and a lot of what I learned has slipped away - but I am at least comfortable with the fact that I am capable of learning my mother tongue!!! time to continue learning to read and write in Punjabi in 2k19.

6. Write original fiction in 2k18

how many of these can I blame on familial abuse oh my god sjdhjskfhkd OKAY WELL, I want to celebrate this one thing: I was able to write my first original short story this year!!! and it was accepted and published this year!!!! I did that!!!! I got money for an original piece of writing and I’m very excited!!! to ride that momentum, I want to write and submit three pieces of original fiction in 2k19.

7. Learn to take care of my body and hygiene in 2k18

I improved on this a lot!!! my skin has smoothed out a lot and my hair is healthy and shiny. I’ve kept up a regular eating schedule and a fairly regular sleeping schedule!! I have a bedtime!! I’ve gained a lot of weight as well which means I have more energy!! I want to improve my schedule of self-care in 2k19.

8. Date someone in 2k18

in hindsight, I went on like... three dates in 2k18 which were very nice and lovely but I haven’t re-connected with them. and after that, I haven’t actively looked for anyone to date. I... don’t really know what to do with this goal. I know that I get jealous sometimes that so many of my friends are in happy, healthy long-term relationships which I think is an indication that “long-term romantic relationship” is a thing that I do want, but. I am... at a loss how to get there tbh.

9. Pursue my interests further by myself and with others in 2k18

jesus these are getting esoteric. I don’t remember what interests I had in mind when I wrote this but I’m sure I did do them!!! I am realizing I have a number of interests - a lot of them involving media analysis, mythology, religion, spirituality, things like astrology and tarot cards, and ofc writing. always always always writing. I don’t think I was able to pursue them to my full potential however because living with my family limits me significantly. it’s a nice sentiment tho and I’m sure I did improve in some small way. baby steps!!

10. Learn to be more honest and vulnerable with others and myself 2k18

I am...... not very good at this. I am definitely trying - but I don’t think I do it very well and instead cause... mood whiplash when I do, because my first instinct after saying I’m having some sort of difficulty is to alleviate it with ‘OH BUT IT’S FINE!! I am a problem-solver :) and here’s a cute cat picture as a distraction’. [rubs face] I am so focused on trying to self-improve and problem-solve that I am realizing I don’t give myself space to just... Feel Sad. Feel Jealous. Feel Lost. and while I don’t want to wallow, I do think there’s a healthy middle-ground somewhere where I am just... allowed to have a feeling without immediately jumping into OKAY FIX NOW GO GO GO. this one is.... also... I am honestly at a loss how to get better at this? after such a fat paragraph, the real goal is find a therapist in 2k19.

did somebody say random facts about the nexusverse? no? well im gonna do it anyway.

this is some stuff that may or may not make it into the fic! we’ll see.

shouto is the first person izuku introduces himself as izuku to! itll be another 2 years before he comes out though. (dont ask me what izuku’s deadname is because im not making one up lmao)

hisaishi is a good dad, he just works overseas. izuku got his tendency to overwork himself from his dad. hisaishi almost never takes vacation days and a weekend trip from the us to japan just isn’t worth it. not because of money, but because the length of the trip and the time difference. he’d arrive late, probably sleep the whole time because of jetlag, and have to leave early. inko used to take little vacations with izuku when he was little, but izuku makes himself so busy after he meets shouto. she takes the trips alone sometimes too.

shinsou has a good mom!!! stop giving shinsou hitoshi bad parents just because you want dadzawa 2k19. her name is junko and the moment she meets inko, they become best friends. even faster then their sons do lmao. her quirk is empathy. she can read emotions (and, if she focuses really hard, minor snippets of thoughts) and project her own to an extent as well. she works as a pediatrician and she has a doctor’s license to use her quirk on patients.

doctor’s license?? what’s that, you ask?? well. think about it. its stated pretty clearly in canon that unlicensed quirk use is forbidden. but obviously, there are some professions that can be aided with the assistance of quirks. doctors with healing quirks, firefighters with water quirks, detectives with lie detecting quirks (tsukauchi). it can get a little fuzzy with passive quirks or mutation type quirks, but, yanno. worldbuilding.

aizawa has two cats based off of matching cat stuffies me and my best friend have. their names are sesame and lemon. yamada found them on patrol one day and couldn’t resist bringing them home. the third cat he found with them went to tensei. (tensei’s is a tuxedo cat named tenshin)

the police think that nexus is apart of an organization due to the nature of her support gear. they cant find any similar equipment and dont believe someone so young (they think shes late teens, early 20s) could build them herself.

no, nexus being assumed to be a woman doesn’t bother izuku. a lot of izuku’s trans identity is based off myself. it doesn’t really hurt to be misgendered by strangers when you aren’t trying. plus, the whole thinking hes a girl thing is part of the reason a lot of people havent caught on yet, so he doesnt mind too much.
