"Oh, right, sorry, uh-- military. I was stationed over in Afghanistan for a few years." Sometimes Remmy forgot not everyone had the common knowledge to know all the terminology they used. They were just so used to it, being around people who would know. This new life-- or unlife, they supposed-- was all so different. "Yeah."

Remmy didn't really buy that at all. Gia didn't look fine and she certainly wasn't acting fine, but Remmy wasn't going to push it. They just wanted to help. Maybe some company would be nice for her. "Right." They trotted along after her, Moose in stride with them. "Yeah, I remember. It's a cool, old building. Have you always owned it?"

"Base camp." With her own mind a mess, scattered to the wind, it was difficult for Gia to recall the history of others. Especially those with whom she'd gone a decade or more without knowing. As much as she wished, her memory was not all encompassing. Particularly now, in the wake of her wolf bite. An experience that lingered mentally, even in the weeks after she'd physically healed. "I see."

Blankly, the vampire watched the other's fumble to offer consolation to perceived distress. With a sigh, Gia curtly decreed. "I'm fine." A conversation she further dismissed by walking away. Her direction in that of the Caffeine Crypt, because she'd never go anywhere else for coffee. "This way." She directed. "It's still in the same place as last time." While the shop had undergone modern renovation, the building itself was over one hundred years old. The structure original to its opening year in 1914.
