On GG's album, and hints of what was to come

As everyone here likely already knows, I'm completely losing it over the news of a full album from GG. There's a lot more to all of this that I haven't yet discussed, so let's dig into it. I have thoughts...

Disclaimer: Most of what's discussed here is rumor and interpretation, and could be inaccurate. We'll find out what's really happening soon enough!

I never dared dream that GG would put out an album. I have been begging for crumbs of a song for years now, it would have seemed completely outrageous to dare to dream of an entire album!!!

But now that it's on its way, and I've heard more info/rumors about the release (more on that in a bit), I can look back over the past year and see some signs that have been there all along, of what's to come.

More on the release

Promo has already begun, and we now know more about the release schedule based on what's posted on the streaming platforms.

The songs will be released in 3 waves, with the first wave happening on the 12th, the next one on the 19th and the final one on the 26th.

The physical album is going to be coming in December, and there are some tantalizing rumors about what that will include:

The album cover was drawn by GG.

A Xiao Zhan Studios red gift box containing various items including postcards, t-shirts etc.

There will be a CD version and a limited edition vinyl version.

A music video is also rumored to have been completed. This has been confirmed, and will be premiering on the 12th.

Clues we've had all along

What's interesting to me is that for months I've been posting updates about changes to XZ Studio's business license, that have been clues to what GG might be up to.

In January a license was obtained to establish a domestic performance agency.

In March that license was expanded to include services for film production and live performances.

In June there were some legal trademark applications made, pertaining to office supplies, calendars and paper gift wrapping.

And now we know that he's releasing an album, at least some editions which will likely be sold with bonus gifts, paper products and packaging (I think this is a very credible rumor because if he's going the physical album route, it's likely designer GG will want to do special editions like this).

Licenses recently purchased protect the studio's exclusive rights to produce and sell such items.

We also know GG and his studio love to produce stunning high quality videos. Was there ever any doubt that he'd make a music video? Maybe even more than one.

Licenses purchased earlier this year give the studio the right to produce such commercial videos.

And there's another license that is associated with live concert performances! I think it's highly likely we'll see a concert from him in the coming year or two.

Generous GG

As Fat Shrimp mentioned, the songs will be free on streaming. This has made a big impression on some fans, and there has been a lot of discussion about it, and about how much this album will have cost to produce, for GG to give it away for free (here's a compilation of some of the comments via Nili, and another from Estefanita).

People have expressed so many thoughts about this. Everyone agrees that it's almost unheard of to give an entire album for free. One or two songs, maybe, but just as a teaser for the full album - which must be paid for.

A lot of people have talked about the 'old days' (ack, I feel old!) when people would buy physical albums, often after having heard only one or two singles on the radio (although where I'm from people could go into a record store and listen to the full album before buying).

They say that he's opening himself up to that evaluation before people are expected to commit to paying for it, and that it's very generous and honorable, but that it will also open him up to being heard more by passersby who wouldn't otherwise be willing to pay for the music - therefore expanding his possible audience.

I personally think there are a few possible factors contributing to why he chose to share his album for free:

To me, this feels almost like GG's bigger 'debut' as an independent solo singer. He's finally releasing music entirely on his own terms. He wants to share and celebrate that with the world, as a gift to the world and to the fans. "I'm here. Please enjoy."

He's inviting people to listen to his music and judge for themselves whether it's worthy of their investment. It goes along with his personality as someone who wouldn't want people to associate any sort of 'buyer's remorse' with something he's sold them. He's always saying, "people are free to like or to hate," and this is his way of giving people that choice without judgment. "Listen and if you like it, buy it. If you don't, that's fine too." By doing this he's likely to build a bigger audience than by doing a traditional release, because everyone has a chance to hear and evaluate him without any up-front investment.

He wants to avoid any possibility of a repeat of what happened with Spotlight, where he was criticized because fans were buying dozens of copies as a means of boosting sales, and then bragging that their idol was the biggest seller of all time. He doesn't want fans to spend all their money on his songs or on boosting his 'sales', nor does he want any perception that the success of his album was bought by fans.

He could be bargaining on making more overall sales via charging for only the physical copies than by selling both, due to the expanded interest a free release is likely to generate.

He has confidence in what he's created, and is happy to share it openly.

He's doing this out of the joy of it more than anything else, and money isn't a central factor for him.

To me this approach, along with the stated plans for rolling all of this out, feels like a marketing plan, and we all know GG has a professional background in that kind of thing.

Yes, all those other elements of artistry, generosity and magnanimity come into it as well, of course. Marketing is treated as a dirty word, but we must remember that every marketing plan is based deeply in the values and intent of the individual/organization doing the marketing, and is focused on their goals.

I feel that his plan will have considered the factors I mentioned, and will be aligned with his values, intentions and goals.

This is just my take on it, of course. Only GG and his studio really know for sure what his plans and goals are.

Can't wait!!!

Whatever his feelings or plans are, I can't wait to hear this album, I can't wait to buy it, and I can't wait to see what kind if interest and critique it generates!!

I also hope that this is just the beginning - that he will be releasing more music, and hopefully doing concerts in the future.

you give him a hug, he always knew how to calm you down in moments like these. you suppose it’s because of his own experiences, especially considering the amount of award shows he’s been at.

you give him a quick kiss, shooting up from the seat to go meet your members. seungmin leaves too, sitting down at stray kids’ respective table.

“excited?”, jeongin asks from beside him.

“of course i am! i’m so proud of her…”

his eyes stay fixed on the stage, waiting for your performance to start. the lights dim, and he sits up straight. it’s time for your performance.

there’s no point in recording, he knows they’ll have a fancam. right now, he just wants to watch his baby shine. 

and you do. you look absolutely gorgeous on stage, the lights hitting you at the perfect angles. the track starts, and the crowd starts cheering.

so many people, just for five girls performing. the first song is a ballad, something slow to set the mood. it’s one of your favorite songs from the comeback.

though munhee wrote the song due to her own experiences, your voice carries the same amount of emotion hers does, and it makes the lyrics sound so much more authentic.

seungmin watches from the crowd, he truly thinks he might cry. the rest of the boys are in awe too, some members of gidle clasping their hands over their mouths in surprise.

everyone is used to you doing intricate dances with upbeat music, and they’ve truly never been able to appreciate your vocals.

then it hits the climax of the song, ending with a high note you must complete. as scared you are of heights, you know it’s inevitable. the platforms will go up, whether you like it or not.

its a small space that you have to maintain, but you try your best to focus on the song. and now, you have to sing.

you close your eyes, letting out your voice, and it sounds absolutely angelic. and then you open them again once you hear the low whirring of the platforms.

they all go up. 

except for yours.

nonetheless, you continue singing, determined to keep your professionalism throughout the entire bridge. and then the song ends. the platforms finally lower back down, and all of you wait for your cues to leave.

once you see it, you take a step.

you shouldn’t have.

all of a sudden, your platform shoots all the way up. eight feet in the air. before you have time to process, it wobbles side to side and you fall off.

thud.

seungmin stands up instantly, rushing to get backstage. he doesn’t care how many people hes pushed and shoved, but he needs to know that you’re okay.

and then a shrill scream fills the air, and his heart stops. it feels like your entire foot is about to fall off, the pressure from your fall crushing it under your weight.

he continues running as fast as he can, getting backstage before you can even blink. “baby? oh my god…”

you’re still crying from the pain, being set onto a stretcher for your leg. “it hurts…”

“i know baby… i know. you’ll be okay…”

they finally get you onto a comfortable bed, evaluating the damage to your ankle. luckily there’s no blood, the medics assume that it’s broken.

“seungmin… you’re on soon.”

“i’m not performing. jeongin’s filling in for me today.”

“what? but you practiced…”

“please… let me stay. i just want to help you feel better…”

you grab onto his hand, trying your best to reassure him that you’re okay. he doesn’t budge, so you just give up on it. 

“you did amazing, angel.”

“thank you…”

“no, really. i mean it. you kept it incredibly professional out there. plus the song was way outside your comfort zone, it was just amazing to hear you sing like that.”

“seungmin…”

“i’m going to kill whoever fucking did that to you. normally they’re more careful with these things… i should’ve had them double check or something. i’m sorry”

“hey, it’s not your fault. please don’t worry… it’s just my ankle. i’ll be fine, really.”

“but you’re hurt. if we had done a test before to check… maybe you wouldn’t have to be here…”

you smile, grabbing onto his hand and bringing it up to your lips to plant a small kiss over his wrist. “it was just a malfunction. it was out of our control, min.”

he clutches onto your hand tighter, his heart fluttering when he looks at you again. the black lightning-like streaks paint your face, eyes still slightly glossed over and nose red.

you’re so worn down, but you still look beautiful as ever. he prefers you like this, natural and authentic. you still look just as beautiful, but the black streaks have his heart clenching.

suddenly, he gets up, picking you up and moving you to the side a little. he’s extra careful not to apply any pressure to your ankle. he knows you’re in enough pain already.

he sits down in the empty space next to you, pulling your head to his chest. “you promise you’re okay? no discomfort?”

“it hurts of course, but other than that, no.”

“i’m so sorry…”

“baby, it’s really not your fault.”

he rubs up and down your arms, more so to soothe himself rather than you, and you smile up at him. you place a small kiss on the corner of his lips, as far as you can reach without moving your legs.

“i’m okay…”

“i love you, gorgeous.”

“i love you too, minnie.”

the medics finally come back, telling you that it’s only a fracture. you’re lucky you don’t need a cast, but you still need to heal for a little while.

“thank god you’re okay…”

“seungmin—“

“you’re not going anywhere without me for the next couple days, okay? i’ll take care of you, i promise…”

“seungmin, you really don’t have to—“

he cuts you off again.

“but i want to.”

you giggle again, you didn’t think he’d react this way. but of course he was going to be overprotective, what did you expect?

you lean over to plant one more kiss onto his jaw, and he pulls you onto his lap. “seungmin, i think you’re more upset about this than me…”

“of course i’m upset! they hurt my baby…”

“it doesn’t even hurt that bad anymore… im fine. you don’t have to worry about me.”

he pulls you flush against his chest, nuzzling his face into your neck. you giggle at him, a little confused as to why he’s licking you, but you stop once you realize that it’s not saliva.

they’re tears.

“it could have been so much worse…”

you wipe the tears from his face, smiling once you see him clearly again. “why are you crying?”

he sighs lightly, giggling when he realizes how he’s acting. “nothing, i’m just… glad you’re okay.”

you smile at him, holding his hand again and trying to sit up. it doesn’t work of course, seungmins arms are wrapped tightly around your waist.

“let me go!”

you thrash around in his arms, but he only holds onto you tighter, giggling as he watches. 

“seungmin!”, you whine.

“they said you needed rest!”

“that doesn’t mean you have to be completely attached to me!”

he rolls his eyes playfully, planting a kiss onto the top of your head. “actually, thats exactly what it means.”

“i hate you, kim seungmin.”, you grumble. you turn to look at him, scoffing once you see him wink.

“love you too, babe.”

About the archive - The files here were previously scattered across multiple websites and cloud storage services, making them difficult to acquire to those outside the small Guilty Gear archival group. I did my best to gather them all in one place. Please contact me if more files are discovered and I will add them to the archive upload on Archive.org.

The ripped mobile port files - The mobile version of Vastedge XT was only online and available to even download for around a year before the servers shut down. The two .OBB and one .APK file were ripped from the Android port of the game and are what Tillman ripped the animated assets, meshes, sounds, and textures from. A lot could not be ripped because it was stored on the game's servers. The encryption also makes ripping files from these difficult. It's possible there's more on them that was not able to be ripped.

Japanese file names - The original name of the .APK was ﾊﾟﾁｽﾛ GG_com.dtechno.slotguilty.apk and had to be renamed to be compressed into a .ZIP folder. If the file runs into errors during launch/cracking attempts, try reverting the name. Likewise, the Japanese names of the videos could not be compressed and were also translated. There is a separate .TXT file within VXT VIDEOS that includes their original Japanese file names.

Duplicate concept art images - There were two archives of the concept art. One was hosted on e-hentai by Mister Guest and contained the full, uncropped, images. The second was from a folder that Volcanic had compiled. Volcanic's files were a higher resolution, but were cropped and missing some information Mister Guest's files had. I've included them both here as well as the files from a third archive where an anonymous user on Imgur had restored the colors on the character models to match how they look in the game itself.

Neon colors on the concept art - The neon sections on these character model sheets are temporary/placeholder colors and not how they appeared within the Vastedge XT game. Their true colors can be seen in the videos within the VXT VIDEOS folder or in the FIXED COLORS folder within VXT CONCEPT ART.

Dialog transcripts - What we know of Vastedge's story came from official story summaries posted by Arc System Works on the Guilty Gear websites. The dialog is exactly that: character dialog. There may be lines missing, that are inaccurate (due to typos), or other written/spoken parts of VXT not included. It may be possible to get this missing information from the videos in VXT VIDEOS or from other VXT video sources online.

Mm, Thursday, the month of July, and.. rain. Today was the evaluation for a competition; which happens twice a year.. yada yada yada, get selected. The theatre room filled with the buzz of multiple dance groups, waiting for their turn to go perform.

Sat in the middle of the front row.. well, was the new judge, who seemed to be pretty scrutinising. On the stage, were the crew WannaB, performing their routine, their moves in sync as you lead.

When the music stopped as their performance ended, the judge stood and began to call out names, selecting dancers to sit out and watch as the others performed again. This process repeated twice until only you and Jisung remained on the dance floor.

The crew had exhausted their choreographies, and the tension was palpable; you stepped forward.

"Could we have a minute?” You ask, breath slightly heavy.

The judge nodded, granting you a brief reprieve. "One minute."

You turned to Jisung, your eyes sharp and focused. 

“What are we doing? We’re out of routines,” Jisung whisper-groaned.

“We’re doing 'What Is Love?'" You state, implying to the song which you, very nicely knew that Jisung adored. After all, you both always practiced gg dances after everyone leaves the studio.

Jisung’s eyes widened in disbelief. "What? y/p/n, are you serious? There’s no w—"

The judge, his patience wearing thin, calls out. “Hello? What are you guys doing?"

You sighed, gritting your teeth before turning, “Lazing around like a sloth." You retorted. "Patience, please? With all due respect, of course.”

The hall burst into bits of laughter, including security. Though, you could make out the tiny smile escaping from the corner of the judge's lips.

You crossed your arms while turning back, your expression unyielding, rolling your eyes. "Come on, Ji, just channel your inner Jihyo or something. I know you've got it in you." You shot, to which Jisung responds with a glare. "What? It’s that or nothing. Now quit being a baby," Without giving him a moment to respond and complain about it, you turned on your heels.

A little too quick, though.

You stumbled slightly; to which Jisung's hands immediately went to your waist, steadying you. His breath fanned against the nape of your neck, "Smooth move, boss." He whispered, smirking, your cheeks flushing a dark shade of red.

You cleared your throat, glancing at him but not being able to make eye contact. God. You then informed the staff to play the music.

Soon, the music began. Through the corner of your eyes, you could see the way Jisung hesitantly moved, barely keeping up with you. To that, you shot him a wide, threatening glare, and he knew he had no choice but to step up. With a deep breath, he finally let go and danced with the same enthusiasm he had when you practiced alone.

Your performance ended to a round of applause, and were finally allowed to retreat backstage. The moment both of you were out of sight, you turned to Jisung, frustration bubbling over.

"Holy Christ, Jisung, you idiot!" You bantered, lightly smacking his bicep. "What were you thinking out there?"

"Ouch-" He groans. "Please, don’t 'Holy Christ' me," Jisung mocked your tone, rubbing his arm. "What the hell did you think? I would dance to a girl group song in front of the whole room?”

You shot him a glare, “It’s called versatility, Ji,” you huff, “Plus, we ended up eating it anyways.”

He pouted, “You are so paying f—”

Before he could say another word, you grabbed his collar and pulled him into a kiss. You did not know what in the world went over your head that made you stare at his pretty lips for a bit too long, then kissing him. Jisung, taken aback, was twisting internally. The suddenness of it left him breathless, his heart racing as their lips moved in sync. When you finally pulled away, you were both left gasping for air.

“Fucking god, that was hot.” Jisung breathed out, heavily, causing your cheeks to flush.

“You’re impossible,” You mumbled, your ears burning as he looked at you with a slight smirk.

"You know," he said, his voice slightly breathless, "you're kinda sexy when you're bossy like this,” He murmured, his hands snaking to your waist. “I like it.”

GENERAL INTRODUCTION

Steam Powered Giraffe is a wonderful musical act with elements of comedy, pantomime and puppetry (shout out to GG the Giraffe).

Created in 1896 by Peter A. Walter I, the band consists of The Spine (David Michael Bennet), Rabbit (Isabella "Bunny" Bennet) and Zer0 (Bryan Barbarin).

Former members are Upgrade (Erin Burke) [from 2008 to 2011], The Jon (Jonathan Sprague) [from 2008 to 2012] and Hatchworth (Sam Luke) [from 2011 to 2016, although he 'became' a robot only after The Jon's departure].

I (M) Recently defeated this rich Ceo guy(27M), let's call him GG(it's in relation to his name, don't worry). He was like, really rich, he has a movie studio, fourteen animal shelters and an evil league(it's a long story, there are 7 of us and there was this one girl we used to date who dumped us all, so we prevent people form dating her in the future). I am the first "evil" ex, and I defeated a dork from Toronto, Canada, who tried to date her, but shockingly, I didn't get back with the girl! We all had a meeting, and eventually we agreed to fight, he loses - I get everything he owns, if I lose - I lose my life.

Instead of fully being an annoying boomer loser who isn't happy about the new things, I'll make some sort of a masterpost about cool JSR and JSRF information sources and other neat thingies. Probably will be updated if i find anything else worth including.

So, first of all:

•Official websites for JSR and JSRF. JSRF website has an English version, but it's barely archived and doesn't have much information on it anyway. JSR one is really awesome though, a lot of cool tidbits, character bios(they include one new trivia for some characters ) and game tips!!

•A whole bunch of guidebooks, meaning JSR Perfect Guide, JSRF Perfect Guidebook and the JGR Sybex's Official Strategies & Secrets . Only one of them is in English, but they're still useful for maps and Graffiti Soul collecting. If you can read these then even better lol. Keep in mind, that the JSR Perfect Guide only covers the original Japanese release, which is different from the later one's.

• Sexy as hell manuals for JGR, De La JSR, JSR for GBA and JSRF. Always good to know about these.

•The JSR and JSRF articles on Sega Retro. You probably noticed me linking them for the manuals and whatnot. If you want to find out stuff about these games, this is second best source for it (first one is playing the games lol). But it has some weird statements like saying that Beat is the leader of the GGs, even though it doesn't make any logical sense, and claiming that JSRF is a sequel game, but then also saying that it's not in the actual JSRF article.

It's probably the obvious thing that could've been noted, so now to less obvious one's.

• Jet Set Radio Wiki. Okay, this website had a bad reputation and all and was filled with creepy comments and lies, now it's all good. I swear. New admin didn't just remove all the misinformation, but also regularly writes new articles! Like how we have Ollie King related pages there now(while it's a different game, making a separate wiki for it would be kind of an overkill so it's there). Anyways yeah, it's good now. But still always check the sources! It's good to do no matter where you are.

While these little things suck, they're completely overshadowed by the sheer amount of fucking information included. Scans, art, documentation of which magazine had articles regarding the games and on which page AND EVERYTHING IS WITH SOURCES AND IMAGES. This is really strong and you'll be there for hours just staring in wonder at all this compiled info.

• JSR Archives. This is a community dedicated for archiving and categorising all the stuff JSR related. One of their members was the one who posted the Sybex guide on the internet.(whoahaaa they got a tumblr FOLLOW THEM!!)

• TCRF article on JGR. While this article wasn't updated in quite some time and is missing a whole bunch of stuff (like the leaked prototypes), it's still a very nice read.

• A whole bunch of prototypes. I included only those i consider noteworthy, if you wanna get the other's, they're there as well.

• JSRF Inside. A certified hood classic if we're talking about JSRF modding.

• Best source for JSRF speedrunning information.

• An extremely really detailed playthrough/guide of JSR. Includes cool trivia like regional differences and instructions for character unlocking.

• Less detailed, but still very useful video guide for unlocking all of the secret JSRF characters.

• This goofy ass official IGN guide for JSR. Why i didn't put it with the rest of the official guides? Well, the reason is that the writer for this thing, Aki, is a real silly goose and they decided to spice up some of the character descriptions. While these are probably based on some legitimate information, like Beat being from Fukuoka(which was confirmed by a Beat TUBBZ figurine of all things), you can't trust these due to its silliness. Like they gave DJ K a backstory, which just ruins his whole deal AND contradicts the game manual. They also consistently get the names for locations wrong. As a game guide it's pretty good?? You can use it. Just don't go around calling Gum a "brownface girl" after reading it.

Ancients Awakened Pre-Hardmode

Ancients Awakened was a Terraria mod with a massive scope, like calamity level of scope. I had high hopes. The concepts seemed awesome, the soundtrack went hard AF and the designs were fire. Annoyingly, as is so common, the lead developer was a creep and half the dev team at once. All the awesome music, spritework and more was crushed until one dev stepped up to take back control. I'm not sure which of these are sill in the mod or what the lore or direction is but I hope these designs, concepts and sprites aren't wasted. The old wiki on terraria mods wiki still has some incomplete old info if you're interested but I think they have their own fandom page or .gg wiki. If anyone wants to tell me about the state of the mod or the fate of these goobers please do tell this was all I did during the pandemic.

The mushroom monarch and feudal fungus were a pair of early-game msuhroom themed bosses. Like king slime tier, you would fight them seperately. There was also a pre-hardmode red msuhroom biome and truffle for it. Mushroom monarch is coming back in the restored version.

Truffle toad was a largely redundant boss who you would fight post eye of cthulhu. Fandom says it's "being overhauled in a remake" so...

the old lore says that the grips of chaos are two quarters of a chaos wizard's soul split in half by (I think) Terra, dryad queen or smth. They are back in the remake. You would fight them after the eye of cthulhu.

Hydra and broodmother are like brain of cthulhu and eater of worlds, fought just after in their respective biomes, the mire and the inferno. They mothered the sisters of discord (you'll see them later) with yamata and akuma, respectively. Hydra has been renamed to swamplurker in the remake and is being reworked. Broodmother is also coming back reworked.

Desert Djinn and subzero serpent were a pair of post-skeletron bosses for the desert and ice biome respectively. Desert Djinn is being turned into an NPC for "awakened light" (idk what that is maybe a special gamemode). Subzero serpent is beoming a miniboss for an underground ice biome (think armoured digger from calamity)

Sagittarius was a pre-wall of flesh boss for the void biome. It'd being replaced with Drone Dispensory Delta in the remake but is staying as a miniboss. Also I though I had a better version of this one but nevermind I might redraw it or draw the replacement when it gets spritework.

OK thats pre-harmode done please tell me what's going on with this mod I need to know.

OC-tober Day 12 & 13: Future & Memes

Choosing to interpret these themes as: What do I consider the future for my OCs to be and what do my OCs think of memes lol

Future

I have a few things in store for my OCs in the short term. For one, I'm in the process of moving all of my OC documents over from google docs to Joplin, so I'm recompiling their info so it's better to read / access. I've also been thinking about them so much this month I have parts I want to rewrite or update while I'm messing around with the docs. I also want to improve my drawing capabilities, because if I can get half decent art of them I can far more easily commission further art. I have several commissioned pieces of Rook already, it sure helps when an OC is from a game with a character creator lol.

Further out... I've been following a lot of indie visual novels and I have to say I am intrigued by vn development. In particular one vn jam from earlier this year was "Only one of any asset", where rules stated only 1000 words, only one background, one piece of music, one pose, etc. (highly recommend WHO WANTS TO BE THE EMPEROR as an example of what one of those looks like). I have a lot of smaller scale stories than the ones I've focused on here that could fit well in a short vn (though probably longer than 1000 words lol). I'd love to give it a try sometime!

Memes

Main girls:

Lark: Likes memes a lot, not exactly on the cutting edge of what's trending but would be familiar with common ones and their derivatives. She would be more likely to repost without credit rather than make any herself

Cadence: Knows mainstream memes but doesn't really follow them or make any. Not very online.

Kama: Would be familiar with popular memes and would share appropriate ones with friends and family group chats. She probably really likes wholesome memes about nature, animals, etc.

Micha: She doesn't have time for such stupid things

Delta: Isn't really into memes or familiar with internet culture. Usually laughs politely at ones she's shown but every once in a while vibes with one

GG: Meme queen who would get into really specific subcultures and tap into their sense of humor, racking up likes / followers / upvotes for her hilarious and unique posts. Then she'd get bored and ghost the community, finding something else more interesting to grace with her presence in few months

Rook: Due to an under developed sense of humor, literal way of thinking, and lack of experience, she doesn't really "get" memes (and jokes in general). I imagine Yelv and Lin try for ages to explain the concept to her but it takes a while to set in. As she grows she starts to understand the concept more and becomes better at identifying and reacting to humor

Splat OCs:

Captain 3: Thinks a lot of memes are kind of stupid, mostly sincerely but also because she's trying to maintain a mature image. As she gets older she gets less uptight, so I'd imagine she'd enjoy them once in a while especially with friends

4: Loves memes and in-jokes, makes her own and every once in a while one is pretty good. Not on the cutting edge but usually knows what is popular and people are talking about cause she's probably on that phone a lot lol

8: Didn't really have memes in the Underground so they're a bit of a new concept for her, but she loves them. Thinks old memes are really funny and often shares ones she finds with Pearl and Marina, who are supportive of her but usually think they're pretty lame. Makes her own and their quality slowly improves

Neo 3: Casual meme enjoyer who sees a lot of mainstream memes or ones related to her interests. I like to imagine her scrolling through her shellphone with Little Buddy as they look at social media together <3
