Detective Pikachu Thoughts and Reactions

Detective Pikachu is such a great movie! I’ve already seen it twice, but I wanted to share my thoughts and reactions from the first time I saw it. I’m gonna put them under the read more to save space and to avoid spoilers if you haven’t seen it yet (which you should!). They’re not super detailed but I feel the need to share anyway.

* Crying Cubone broke my heart, poor baby.

* What the actual heck Lickitung?

* This movie can’t come out on DVD soon enough, I’m gonna spend like three days pausing the Ryme City opening scene and looking at all the pokemon.

* How long have you been standing there waiting for someone to open that mailbox? Also, waiting in the shadows to ambush a potentially grieving family member of a dead Detective is propbably not the best way to get your answers lady.

* Side question how did your Psyduck get into the building by itself? It can’t reach the handles …

* Sweet Arceus how much gas is in that little tube thing?

* WHAT IS POKEMON’S BEEF AGAINST LIVING PARENTS?! LET THE CHILDREN HAVE BOTH PARENTS PLEASE!

* WHERE DID ALL THESE AIPOM COME FROM?! There was only like ten outside and now there are thirty trying to kill the poor boy! 

* These people giving Tim weird looks, ya’ll can’t tell me you’ve never seen someone talking to their Pokemon before!

* My poor unsuspecting self: “That ditto just turned into a person! It’s like a service Pokemon! That’s so cool :D”

* Mr. Mime … Is actually not as creepy as I thought he’d be? He’s actually pretty cool.

* It’s ok Pikachu, I also suck at charades.

* YOU SET HIM ON FIRE!!!!!!!!!

* Not a single fiber of my being was prepared for that Gengar but you know what? I still love and support it!

* My poor, innocent self: “Oh, who’s the secret agent lady? She’s kinda cute!”

* Mr. Macho Nipple Man went from ‘zero’ to ‘soul mate’ when he called his big murder bound Charizard ‘baby’.

* This went to heck very fast.

* Please tell me this is not how most people evolve their Magikarps. Is that why Gyarados always looks so angry? I would be too!

* Seriously ya’ll, I was not ready: “Oh cute agent lady is back! Hello Mrs. Norman! :D”

* I would also like to point out that I am an oblivious fool: “I knew the son was behind it!”

* Lucy has no chill, she is 100% down for breaking into dangerous areas … I love her.

* LE GASP! That’s OUR Mewtwo!!!!!

* I would never feel clean again if I was wrapped up in a Greninja tongue.

* GIANT. TORTERRA. GARDEN.

* Pretty much just straight crying until Lucy and Tim get back to Ryme City.

* Again, I am an idiot: “Howard was the bad guy?! Oh my poor Mewtwo!”

* Ditto: *Reveals itself* Me: D8

* KICK SOME BUTT PIKCAHU!!!!!!

* Ok I know this whole thing lasted like, thirty minutes tops, but judging by the lack of accidental use of abilities and minimum city distruction, the people of Ryme City took the merging pretty well.

* In case I didn’t make it clear before that I am a little slow on the uptake: “RYAN REYNOLDS IS TIM’S DAD?!?!” 

Final thoughts:

* Not once did I see a Pokemon recieve a smoochie and I would like to file a formal complaint.

* If there is not at least a plan to make a TV series based on the adventures of Tim, Lucy, Pikachu, and Psyduck by the end of the year I am going to riot.

* WHY AREN’T POKEMON REAL?!?! TT~TT
