The Fyre Festival guy just got out of prison after four years and he's already planning another island festival called PYRAT (pronounced pirate) which is clearly going to be Fyre Festival 2.0.
Like he is using the same vague promos as last time, featuring footage of the Bahamas, and when NBC News asked the government of the Bahamas about this they were like "NO, he does not have permission to host ANYTHING here. Please tell us if you see him in our country so we can arrest him."

I thought Logan Paul’s Wild And Wet Crypto Scam was a powerful way to end 2022, but how do you logically progress from there? Wonder no more, my friends, the way to open 2023 is that the Fyre Festival guy is trying to make another Fyre Festival:
Tumblr media
26 million dollars in debt and having spent 4 years in prison due to Fyre Festival, this guy’s first idea fresh out of jail is to throw another one. Never on schedule, always on time. I’m looking forward to seeing the next wave of influencers having to fight for their actual lives in an abandoned island again. Of all things I never expected to see DLC for, Fyre Festival was at the top, and yet, here we are.

dashcon
I’m an so happily and blissfully ignorant of a lot of the bs that goes on. I just learned about Dashcon and 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I love tumblr and the idea of us all physically together in one place is 😂😂😂😂
Now we’ve had Fyre fest, the wonka experience, and now bridgerton ball. I date back to Star Trek conventions in nyc at the now defunct Stadler Hilton near Madison square garden. Late 70s.
you pay your $7 at the door and watch Star Trek eps, and maybe see a presentation or two. Ah the good old days when 40,000 fans didn’t show up, and the normies poked at us with sticks and laughed.
creation con was the company that and they sucked. Schedules were more like suggestions. But there really were gatherings, they really had guests (like George taikai and Adric from Doctor who). And we had a great time.
Hmm..maybe I can launch a liminal spaces convention. 🧐

Are You Working on the Next Fyre Festival?: Identifying a Toxic Workplace
It was impossible for me to watch the Fyre Festival documentaries without seeing the obvious warning signs.
If you’ve magically avoided knowledge of the Fyre Festival until this very moment, I’m thrilled to be able to give you the juiciest Wikipedia link of your adult life. It was the perfect storm of sex appeal, marketing chicanery, criminal incompetence, white nonsense, and karmic justice. And I think it’s a super valuable example to use when talking about toxic workplaces.
These places exist, and they are hiring. Hindsight makes this one look ridiculously fake and scammy. But it’s not that simple.

"Harry, of course it's a real festival! Look at all these artists signed up to perform! Look at these luxury villas! This gourmet food and drink! What could I possibly stand to gain from sending a decorated officer of the RCM on a wild goose chase to a fake music festival? I wouldn't waste the Union's resources just to mock up glamour shots and and convince you to get stranded on an island in the middle of the pale! I'm a busy man, Harry!"

- Let's Docu 'Bout It -
Episode 22 - Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened
In this episode I recap and talk about the Netflix documentary, Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened. The Fyre Festival was billed as a luxury music experience on a posh private island, but it failed spectacularly in the hands of a cocky entrepreneur.

This is beyond parody.
Grifter Billy McFarland, the crook behind the infamous Fyre Festival, has teamed up with fellow scammer Donald Trump. McFarland served years in prison for his fraud. Perhaps he can tell Trump what to expect.
Remember Billy McFarland, the “entrepreneur” and former Fyre Fest fraudster who scammed festivalgoers by putting on a supposed luxury music festival in 2017 only for it to turn out to be a fraudulent enterprise that saw punters stranded on an island in the Bahamas and earned him prison time after he pleaded guilty to multiple counts of fraud?   Well, according to Rolling Stone, he’s trying to hook US presidential candidate (and fellow convicted fellon) Donald Trump up with rappers, in a bid to reach and appeal to more Black voters during the campaign trail. Yes, it’s as icky, cynical, and depressingly on brand as it sounds.   McFarland allegedly approached the team of Detroit rapper Icewear Vezzo ahead of Trump’s rally there, while also taking credit for connecting Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow with Trump ahead of a rally in the Bronx.
Apparently Trump thinks that McFarland, a white boy from New Jersey, can help him win the votes of younger African Americans.
One source told Rolling Stone that there is a list of hip-hop artists Trump wants to endorse him or even perform at his campaign events. However, “at this time, none of them have.”  “There is nothing more on brand for a convicted felon like Donald Trump than recruiting another convicted felon to join his campaign just in time for the Republican National Convention,” Democratic National Committee spokesperson Alex Floyd told TMZ, “which is shaping up to be just as much of a dumpster fire as Fyre Fest.”  If you need a further reminder of his trainwreck CV, it was immortalised in two damning documentaries: Fyre Fraud and Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened.
As long as he's enlisting losers like McFarland, here are some other people I think Trump should seek out for help with his run for the White House:
The folks who recently ran the disastrous Conservative Party campaign in the UK which resulted in Labour returning to power.
The creators of New Coke.
The Russian military strategists who planned to conquer Ukraine in a "three-day special operation".

If you want to throw a Bridgerton themed party, this video provides an excellent example of what NOT to do. My condolences to the Bridgerton fans who dressed up in gorgeous Regency era costumes for this event and were left disappointed.
