The knight and noble relationship Lingyuan and Fujin got going on is ooooooOoOGH. Lingyuan's lines really ripped my heart out, she cares for Fujin so much in the 'I'll tear down the empires that have made you despair only to see you smile again' kind of way. Goddamn.

He leans in, touching his forehead against hers—against the gleaming third eye, without mind for its cold and distant nature. Jing Yuan’s eyelids flutter to a peaceful shut, as he does whenever entranced by deep contemplation. He is gorgeous, the general, particularly up close where she can see each of his moles and creases, all that marks him human. Fu Xuan hears the unwilling quickening of her heartbeats.

“Keep calm,” he repeats. “Breathe, Fu Xuan.”

Irrespective of her racing heart, she joins him as he inhales—chests rising and falling in tandem, again, again. She lets her own eyes close, her vision slipping into the unsettling dark. There’s warm security in the way his hand cups the back of her head, and she basks in it; dwelling in wafts of herbal mist, freshly inked parchment, salts of old regret among lotus leaves.

Breathe in, breathe out.

“Patiently, let them out. We go through this one by one.”

A steady metronome, to keep the melody flowing. The weight of all the world's fate does not seem so much more daunting to bear now, knowing that there is a head, a heart, next to hers, keeping her in check.

au where an hour in phantylia's realm is five years in real life..... fu xuan waits fifteen years for the general to return.

just, fu xuan straight up refusing to accept his death. getting so so so frustrated at how everyone around her acts as if he's already gone. they want her to be general?? they want to put up a memorial??? fu xuan seethes and sends them all to receive disciplinary action

fu xuan completely throwing herself into her work, trying in vain not to let her thoughts wander to him. her nights are spent with her third eye open and seeking his fate, but it's always in vain—she simply can't see anything and it's driving her insane.

and when this happens, it usually means that the person has left this realm. died. but he can't have. surely she would have felt it if he had—surely the universe would have! how could one such as the general-arbiter and divine foresight slip away with such quietness? she refuses to believe it. she can't believe it.

and despite all the work she's doing for the luofu, despite running the ship in all but name, despite the years without so much as a peep from him, despite the fact that she can't see him through either the matrix or her third eye, she still refuses the position of general.

accepting it is akin to signing his death sentence. because if his seat is empty, if the luofu is still under his command, then surely it means he will return. right? it's just one of his many war expeditions—she need only lead them until he returns, and teases her about her short stint as regent, and cheat his way to another starchess victory, and poke her in the cheek when she's annoyed.

Last week I've been busy playing Star Rail and I've found my fav ship already ((also she reminds me a bit of Mona so SLAY))

Hmm I have a sudden idea for a Jingfu AU. Imagine one sided enemies to lovers where Fu Xuan thinks of Jing Yuan as lazy and undeserving of the general role. Then, during her daily readings, she sees a flash or something of her and Jing yuan embracing. Obviously, she’s upset by this but she can’t help but be curious so she starts thinking about him more and more.

Things devolve from their until they get into a relationship. Fu Xuan doesn’t realize until their practically married.
