MEET: Gingersnap, previously Leopardglow

Born just after Firestar’s rise to leadership and named after Tigerstar’s late mother, Leopardglow was loud, energetic, and friendly from the very moment she opened her eyes — much to the disdain of her ThunderClan Clanmates. Despite Firestar’s blood running through her veins, ThunderClan would have much rather had nothing to do with Tigerstar’s spawn, and while her half-siblings Brambleclaw and Tawnypelt were content to settle into the shadows while they grew, and linger there even after Tigerstar’s death, Leopardglow simply could not.

Too extroverted for her own good, Leopardglow did everything she possibly could to bolster her reputation within the Clan — within all the Clans — in a desperate bid to make friends and feel seen and supported. She trained herself relentlessly into a decent hunter and better fighter, and, for a while, seemed to have finally wiggled her way into ThunderClan’s good graces and affections… Until she unsheathed her claws one day, and found herself unable to withdraw them. Tigerstar’s claws, whispered the Clans. A bad omen.

For a time, Leopardglow still relentlessly tried to make herself into a friend to anyone, but not even her slightly older half siblings through Tigerstar, nor her little half siblings through Firestar, seemed to want much to do with her. So, she turned to what felt like a last resort, driven by desperation and loneliness: her father’s birthplace, the Twoleg Houses.

She was quickly scooped up by a loving pair of housefolk due to her unusual coat, who named her “Gingersnap”: a name she adopted with great joy and pride. While she wasn’t very welcomed on the streets — her reputation as the daughter of both Scourge’s assailant and murderer preceded her —, her fellow kittypets were warm and friendly, and found themselves often drawn to her for her grand stories of being born wild, as well as her overall joyous nature. While some cats do find her a bit overbearing, the two cats she shares her home with — another ex-Clan cat who took the name Whiskers, and a pampered purebred named Hera — love listening to Gingersnap’s stories, adore her bold nature, and are deeply fond of her overall.

In her new home, Gingersnap finally found the acceptance and love she so dearly craved.

What is the origin of your iconic gingerfucker empire?

It’s actually really funny because gingerfucker started as part of a celebration week I did. I wanted to write different genres because I usually only wrote fluff, so I was trying to branch out. I wanted to include a hurt/comfort fic and I was like well who better for this than the sad ginger man with lots of trauma? I actually made a poll about it and everyone wanted Eris to be comforted but instead the first fic I wrote was ‘I am ash from your fire’ where gingerfucker is in Autumn because Rhysand banished her from Night after discovering their secret. People really liked that first fic and I think I got some asking if I’d write more and within a week or two I had written two more fics (‘Starfall in Autumn’ and ‘Laborious Anxieties’) and from there people were really invested once I brought in the element of them having kids (the gingersnaps).

How do you see Eris's role in the Night Court's future?

I see Eris as a loose ally in the future. He won’t blindly do anything the Night Court asks, but I see him having a similar role to Thesan where he will question motives/plans, but ultimately do what he thinks is best for the people of Autumn/Prythian. I think he’ll have the strongest ties with Feyre and Nesta.

What's your favorite Eris fic that you've written and Why?

I have two answers - one is a fic I’ve posted and one is a fic I’ll (hopefully) have finished for Eris Week. I have a fic for Eris Week that details the events immediately after ‘I am ash from your fire’ where Eris has to set all of his plans in motion to kill Beron. I really liked writing this fic - I made some Autumn Court lore, I brought in unnamed brothers, Eris sits on the pink couch in the Band of Exiles manor. As far as posted fics, I love ‘Amber eyes looking into mine’. I like seeing Eris have to deal with his trauma. By this point Beron has been dead for a few years, but Eris finds an old document of Beron’s and it causes him to have a panic attack and spiral. In the fic, Atlas is about a year and a half old and he finds Eris and he shocks Eris from his panic attack. I liked playing with longterm effects of being able to process trauma and how sometimes you can’t process it until you’re safe from it, and I also enjoyed showcasing that while children aren’t meant to heal their parents, they can inadvertently help just by existing and loving their parents.

Genshin Baking Therapy -Wriothesely: Gingerdoodle

Hello, everybirdy. Today we are going to be making a cookie that my dad saw in his emails and quickly sent it over to me. He was like “this is a combination of two of my favorite cookies. Can you make them?” And if you know me, I accept any recipe that is thrown my way, within reason. I made these cookies for New Year’s Eve. 

Now the character in question: Wriothesley (Ryes-lee). He is the Duke of the Fortress of Meropide, which is the jail in Fontaine. He was one of two characters that I saw in the preview characters leak for Fontaine, where I felt like I needed him. He was the first Fontainian that I got that wasn’t a free four-star character.

For this recipe you are going to be making two different cookie doughs. One is the Gingersnap cookie dough and the other is the snickerdoodle cookie dough. And in the end you are going to combine them and have the cookies taste really good. 

You are going to preheat your oven to 375 F. And line your cookie sheets with parchment paper. 

In a large bowl, you will want to mix together your brown sugar, shortening, molasses and egg. 

You are then going to stir in the rest of the ingredients for the gingersnap cookie. That includes flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt. 

In another large bowl, you are going to start on your Snickerdoodle cookie dough. To do this you are going to beat ¾ cup of sugar, butter, and eggs with an electric mixer on medium speed until it is well mixed. 

When that is all mixed you are going to stir in the rest of the ingredients. This includes the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. So this one is a little different from what I used. I didn’t have another type of flour in my kitchen so I just added more all-purpose flour. And I don’t normally have the cream of tartar in my pantry, so I omitted and I will be honest with you, I don’t really know what I does.

Now we are going to shape the cookies. With clean hands, you are going to scoop a level tablespoon of the Gingersnap cookie dough and a rounded teaspoon of the Snickerdoodle cookie into a ball. 

Find the measurements that you want for your cookie. If you want to do 1 teaspoon of each then go for it. 

In a small bowl you are going to add in your cinnamon sugar. Which is ¼ cup of sugar and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon. It all defers on how storng or how sweet you want your cinnamon sugar to be. 

Bake your cookies at 375 F from at least 9 to 11 minutes. I will always start at 8 minutes and add time to my cookies. Because as mom always says “ you can always add time, you can’t take it back.”

Cool the cookie on the cookie sheet for about 2 minutes. This helps them with hardening up a bit before cooling. 

These cookies were very simple to make and they tasted really yummy. I will most likely be making these cookies again in the future.

I don't know what genre this is called, but whatever the elves in the trees at the entrance of the Rivendell Valley have going on. Singing Nonsense About Every Random Thing You See? Tra-La-La-Lally-core? whatever that is it slaps

42. Let them vent for a second, without the fear of being judged. What would they like to say?

I think the thing that has been weighing on Ethedis a lot (or will eventually) is probably the fact that she doesn't have the option to make Luthien's choice and choose a mortal fate. The love of her life and her closest friends are humans, and being an elf, once they die she's going to be separated from them for what might as well be forever.

She tries not to think about it too much, her friends will die eventually and she would rather not borrow grief from the future, she wants to enjoy the time she has with them without it being sullied by their inevitable fates. But the knowledge still eats away at her some nights. She feels as if her fate, doomed to be separated from the people she cares for most is a terrible injustice. To suffer the pain of losing them forever as punishment, as if loving her friends is some sort of crime. It just isn't fair. (and I happen to agree. one of these days I'll figure out a satisfying way to break the lore and get Ethedis into the human afterlife. somehow.)

...ok so that last one kinda left this on a sad note so I'm just gonna add one more here to end it on something nicer

2. Give them a warm drink of your choice, what would it be? Would their choice differ from yours?

I am giving Ethedis some hot mulled cider in a heart-shaped mug with a plate gingersnaps on the side. also a little kiss on the head.

Mystery Quiche

As I make my way to the secret location of the peace treaty I find myself in a desolate town. It is in this town I lose my way and comment on a crime. It is when I finally come to, I find myself  standing over a Quiche, hands covered batter and crust, I understand immediately what I have done.

Shocked and lacking guilt I quickly consume the remaining evidence. As I grab the lasting remaining slice I notice it resembles a pie if a pie is worked out. It could almost be mistaken for a beef and thick omelet. The outer shell was soft and squishy as if i was squishing an infant's skull 

After taking a bite I was flooded with a thusmime of flavors, spongy, eggy, peppery, crumbly, and more I can't put into words. It is if a tasty omelette decided to cosplay as a pie. It has a nice springy and spicy taste to it that makes my tongue tickle. When consuming further I was able to go past the flesh to the pure meat and the bottom crust. It is safe to say my crime will not be found. I would rate this 39 buried 0 found

The brutal cookies civil war of 2023

Right away when observing the circular edible circles, better known as cookies, I am able to notice their differences. It seems as if the 4 nations of cookies have finally come together to discuss a peace treaty. Little do they know it is their judgment day.

Ginger chew

The first diplomat is most notably the smallest, perhaps from a weaker nation begging for mercy from the bloody wars. It is durable perhaps from all the horrors it has seen. The darker complexion makes me believe its nation is heavily focused on farming and other manual labor.

After sustaining a wound I was able to determine it was in fact cinnamon or a gingersnap flavored. Its innards were soft and warm when consumed. Its people should fear further cannibalism.

Snickerdoodle

The next of the fatal four has a spotted appearance. It reminds me of those freckles you might find on a ginger. I hate gingers. Immdentilany I notice that despite its second largest size it’s considerably softer. A once powerful nation turning soft, as they spread themselves too far and became comfortable therefore lax. A perfect nation not prepared for an attack.

It practically melts on my tongue as I taste the buttered infused tissue. I was unfortunately unable to discover the supposed doodle, further consumption is recommended

Chocolate chip

The largest of them all, the empire that holds them in a chokehold. A true king amongst kings. This nation fears nothing and they make sure to advertise it. A ballsy move instead of sending a peacemaker or a diplomat they send their best general. The texture of it is rough and bumpy showing the scars from previous victories, chips still embedded after being shot at.

The taste of its chocolate blood runs deep showing its great pedigree and status, the taste is rich and prevalent. The hard crunchy outer meets the pliable and flexible innards of the general and creature, a texture I can only equate to sex. My only wish is for the general to return my phone calls… 

Oatmeal crazen 

The last and the least suspecting of the fetal four. A peacemaker hiding a trettours past of a war criminal. A truly crazy and unstable individual, with a plan of mutual destruction. Similar to the chocolate chip general this one has seen its fair share of battle leaving it scared and branded. Its nation purposely looks weak and submissive but is any but. Spending years of research and training they have amassed an army of genetically modified soldiers ready to invade after the peace treaty meeting. It bump outside hides a terrible weapons

Instantly I was attacked with a bomb of raisin infecting my tongue with flavor, the nuts and oatmeal took advantage of my surprise and held my hunger hostage. 

Overall my time acting as a scribe during the peace meeting has left me fearful of these great nations' future. After witnessing and unashamedly taking part of the consumption, I have decided that eating them all will solve our problem of war. I would rate this venture mutually assured destruction.

Starting over is never easy to do but when you have nothing left where you have lived most of your life, have raised your daughter, and the climate is no longer friendly…having a dude ranch inherited from an uncle might seem almost a safe haven to head to with your teenage daughter…maybe…?

What I liked:

* Maisey: recently divorce, mother of sixteen-year-old Juniper, has secrets, more skilled than the part she played in a handyman program she was on for six years with her ex, wants to be the best mother ever to her daughter, also seeking her own best self, not in the market for a relationship no matter how much she might be attracted to Flint

* Flint: math teacher, soccer coach, has commitment issues, had a rough childhood, good friend, giving, caring, kind, rule keeper, very attracted to Maisey, wants what is best for Juniper and her daughter

* Juniper-June-Junie: sixteen, has two years of high school left, loves soccer, wishes her father cared more than he does, wise, doing her best, misses much and not a lot of where she lived before, a good person, has a bright future

* Earl: a bear that pops up from time to time

* Gingersnap: a cow that had history with the town and belonged to Uncle Tony * Uncle Tony: black sheep of his family, a safe harbor for Maisey as a teenager, thought of Maisey and her possible future needs even though they did not see one another often, that his presence was felt even though he was never actually seen in the book

* The slow-burn and strong chemistry and almost soul-connection between Maisey and Flint

* Opal, Charlotte and others in the town who make Junie and Maisey feel at home

* Kory: Flint’s best friend, sounding board, and good person

* The plot, pacing, setting, and writing

* That I Flint and Maisey both wanted what was best for Juniper…though they also wanted to have something for themselves, too

She's one of Justin's flings and Channing's mother. I redesigned her because I saw Gingersnaps and frankly, I refuse to learn how to draw wolves it just doesn't interest me but she does have a full werewolf form.

Lavender loves her son but in her culture, the babies are raised comunally so the concept of two parents being responsible for a kid is a bit foreign to her, everyone loves and cares for the pups. Justin's lifestyle and her own don't mesh very well, which is why Channing stays with the Frosts until he'll be old enough to choose whether he wants to spend part of the year venturing out on his own. Lavender visits to spend time with her son and teach him werewolf skills whenever she can, she acts more like the cool wine aunt as Channing's future step mother takes on most of the soft matronly tasks but he loves her just as much.
