One of the things I love about the idea of Akechi and Futaba being siblings and finding out is- Akechi looking at her, and it was bad enough when she was the girl whose mother he'd killed. Now she's his sister - now she has to deal with having a monster for a father too.

And Akechi looks at her and he goes, "no." He looks at her and goes "she's been through enough."

Akechi saying "I won't stand for anything else happening to her, and I'll make sure it doesn't."

It's not a selfless love, and it's not without its faults. But although he won't fight her battles for her, he can at least repay his debt both as her mother's killer and as her brother in the ways he knows how.

Lisa’s dad has an older brother who got married to a Japanese woman, who I want to say kickstarted his descent into being a complete Japanophile, but I haven’t really figured out the ages for that to work yet. I wanna say he was like, early to pre teens when Big Bro Silverman started dating/got married to his wife but idk

Anyway Big Bro Silverman and his wife have a daughter, who then gets married to the Papa Takamaki, explaining the name change (ofc I coulda made Big Bro into Big Sis Silverman and had the same effect but wtvr) and they have An.

But Wonder’s parents are canonically just- SHHH in my head p5 and p5x take place in different timelines, which is why I’m comfortable in saying that in my headcanon, Wonder is Katsumaya’s kid and in the p5x timeline Katsuya’s dead which is why his home life is, vaguely nonexistent from what I’ve heard. In mainline p5 timeline he’s a way happier kid and him and Ren are really close!

But Ren’s parents are probably really bad, we don’t hear from them ONCE- Shut up shutupshutupshutup that’s your opinion, Flowerchild AU 🔛🔝 I love them. Tatsujun adopted Ren at about age, idk 3-4? So Tatsujun’d be about 21ish? Also due to ✨gayness✨ I doubt that Tatsujun are married legally (Idrk Japanese laws very well, let alone their gay ones lol) and Jun’s last name is Kashihara bc. The Punishment is in fact Eternal

Alright I stole the idea of Yuka (persona 1) being Ryuji’s mom right off of @/hypogryffin, so yeah

Again Zenkichi and Saori being siblings is smth I got from hypogryffin, but it’s reasonable to come to this conclusion because they have the same last name. Also, if we say that Zen is 44 in p5s during 2017, and Saori is 18 in 2009, then that means that there’s an about 18 year difference between them, which is very funny to me. Also I think Minako would love to meet little 6ish year old Akane and that’s fun

Also, idk if I want to go the Futago sibs route or add in Baofu being Futaba’s bio dad, which would both be interesting. I do like the idea of Ken and Akechi being half siblings tho, so I put that in (also I accidentally misspelled Shido’s first name lol)

lyney's aesthetic fits joker a lot (or rather, arsene) but his off-the-charts rizz and underlying dark thoughts are just 100% goro akechi.

additionally, ive been reading a certain... pairing a lot (wriothesley and lyney coughs) so i think the irony of joker taking on the warden of meropide role (when in p5 *hes* the prisoner) is fun. tiny siegwinne is just lavenza bullying him 🫶💕

they find out during the sentencing process for shido. futaba doesn’t initially tell the other thieves bc she’s big depression

they already kind of get along bc goro just kind of sits around leblanc and is dating akiren so she never rly avoided him bc. that would just be pointless

goro is extremely awkward about the concept of having a sibling bc his only experience is the few foster parents bio kids who never liked him and other kids at the group home

futaba is kind of. fake blase about the whole thing? she doesn’t particularly care about shido being her dad but the idea that he. willingly chose to gaslight her and used someone he suspected of being her biological sibling to kill her mother kind of makes her realize just how truly evil he is as a person

they both like featherman and while they overall agree on most points goro just has weird opinions on certain episodes

futaba DEMANDS to know if goro likes kylo ren and goro is ??? ofc I don’t??????? and futaba just sighs out of relief. then akiren calls kylo hot to annoy goro

goro has incredibly bad opinions on some classic animes like death note that futaba just finds Bizarre. after interrogating him on them she learns they were entirely based on him being 10 and just assuming any guy he found cute was right (and he blocked out most of the plots bc trauma)

futaba is the one who suggests goro might have adhd after watching him read a true crime book in a day with no pauses and then struggle to read his text book while studying

they both forget to eat if akira or sojiro doesn’t tell them to

futaba says goro is cheating by being more ginger than her. no one knows what this means

that’s not to say i don’t think it’s valid! i think there’s a lot to support it even. but just for me like...... the most interesting part of their rship would never be if they’re related LOL esp given how much of ftb’s story is sojiro being her Dad and protag being her family as well. imo there’s never gonna be anything abt akch being her half-bro thats as compelling as her actual found family narrative

GOD okay. ok ok ok ok ive had a few concepts of a futuristic violence and fancy suits inspired futago au where shido as a hyper rich capitalist dies and futaba inherits everything so goro goes to get her with no ulterior motives whatsoever :) and naturally everything goes to shit bc he was shidos hitman etc etc and like. the reveal where it comes out that he was taking her to try and get the inheritance is one i thought abt a LOT........... but im never going to write this au so uh. u kno.

slightly unhinged goro + freaked out but trying futaba is a fun dynamic. i really like these two together can u tell (looks at pef)

That year had been hotter than most, but even ice cream and air conditioning hadn’t been enough to keep Shuu indoors, not when he could sit with his feet in the river and watch water run over Nazuna’s perfect toes.

“Of course not,” Shuu said, tilting his head up with a sniff. Nazuna’s mask was resting on the side of his head, red eyes watching Shuu from beneath delicate blond eyelashes. “The only thing of worth in this place is you.”

Nazuna laughed at that. The trees left the light falling on him like stardust, gold dappling the lines of his jaw. “You’re so ridiculous.”

“I’m only telling the truth.”

A splash of water; Shuu yelped and tilted back on instinct, flailing as he tipped over. Twigs in his hair, dirt on his clothes, laughter in his ears, Shuu watched the leaves above catch in the faintest possible breeze and thought to himself, Oh, I’m in love. It was not a surprise. He’d known for years. It was just that the word had never come knocking before.

HM i think atmosphere is where im strongest. in terms of like? conveying the mood and tone of the scene and the characters emotions thru small things.......... almo has definitely made comments to this effect before so i think so WWWWWW

www recently ive been writing a lot of ffxiv, which basically means i’m writing a lot of oc stuff? it’s odd after going so ahrd on fanfic for so long bc it’s like. there’s no canon i have to adhere to. i mean there’s Some canon but mostly its just like. flings spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks u kno

realtalk pef is big and popular enough that i Know there are ppl missing my intentions which is.......... odd. i dont necessarily mind but its still weird. actually ive had this happen on non pef things but it’s still weird u kno. pef is just the most visible one wwwwww

i think the biggest surprise is that................. i don’t like futago half-sibs theory GHLKSDHGLKDHG i kno its p popular in futaba+goro fan circles but like. its so boring to me. adds nothing to their dynamic. so much of ftb’s journey is learning to love her New family (ren n sojiro) and having her suddenly Forgive Akechi for Being Her Half Sib is so weird to me. i think there’s potential to explore the concept in an interesting manner tbh (poitns at a certain doc i got) but like. 99% of the time i dont like it

19.  Is there something you always find yourself repeating in your writing? (favourite verb, something you describe ‘too often’, trope you can’t get enough of?)

god sometimes almond makes me ctrl+f words that they think pop up in pef and theyre always right. it kills me a little bit. goro sighs a lot. goro bites back sighs a lot. i try to pass some of the things off as stylistic choices but sometimes im just tired

in terms of tropes tho i have a memory loss au for like. every ship ive ever liked. sometimes multiple. im just too embarrassed to ever post but u kno

do you like the idea of akechi becoming friends with any of the pt besides joker or do you also think it's problematic/bad?

my fave goro friendshipping is with ann and futaba (futago sibs is something I LOVE almost as much as akeshu okay)

otherwise it’s... eeeh??? I just don’t feel like goro would be very close with any of them. goro seems shocked every time ryuji says anything mildly sensible, goro and yusuke just have.... vastly different world views and while in an au I think they could probably get past it, I don’t think yusuke himself has any real desire to be close to goro after what happened. goro sympathizes with yusuke, but he also isn’t gonna put in any effort to be friends with him. makoto is??? I think they’re just funnier when they aren’t friends. I think that in the distant future when haru has worked through her trauma her and goro would get along well, but as is??? goro thinks she’s a spoiled rich girl who refuses to understand how horrible her father is and haru thinks goro is melodramatic and overly violent (despite.... the fact that she’s just as violent as him lol)

I think the main problem is that goro himself not only won’t reach out to the thieves, he flat out doesn’t know how to just have normal friendships. his attitude is also clearly off-putting to many of the thieves, as even though they don’t hold ill will towards him they think he’s way too bitter and he thinks they’re too idealistic.

with ann, she canonically appreciates people who are honest with her even if it’s harsh. she became friends with shiho bc shiho was rude to her, so I think of all the thieves she’s the most likely to actively reach out to goro and actually appreciate him as he is and not just be like “have you considered being more positive”. that’s not to say she WOULDNT try to improve his outlook, but she wouldn’t do it in that pitying way goro hates. also she too wants abusers to suffer soooo

futaba I think is more complicated due to goro killing wakaba, but I think overall they share a lot of traits. futaba seems to relate heavily to goro and his experience in orphanages in particular, which I think would lead to her being more open to actually forming a relationship with him than haru. there’s also ofc the sibling theory, which I tend to just treat as a given with anything I do bc I like it so much. I don’t think futaba would instantly forgive him, but I think they would get along really well but in that yknow, bickering siblings way.

really I just?? I don’t think goro is someone who really knows how to form connections with other people. he never had them as a kid so while he does his best to get along with the thieves for jokers sake, it would require them taking the initiative and being willing to accept that he’s probably never going to be a very positive person, and after everything he did..... while the thieves are willing to put it behind them and let him exist adjacent to them, I don’t think most of them are interested in seeking friendship with him

like futaba is one of the more accepting thieves during the boss fight- she openly admits that she Gets what he’s dealing with and tells him that it’s never to late to change, even now knowing for certain he killed her mother.

obviously I think futaba deserves to have time to be upset and angry over it but I also. don’t get the impression she took the same “sympathy but no forgiveness” route as haru and I rly think that’s bc she basically had the same things happen to her, but was lucky enough to have an “out”

also like. I just think they’d overall get along and in the few times they talk they?? do seem to??? goro seems slightly nervous around futaba but is overall nice to her and seems to indulge her habits + the nervousness might honestly just be guilt over wakaba considering his initial reaction

like p l e a s e let futaba teach goro how to play video games and let them have nerd debates over featherman!

remember how in the anime they let goro openly sympathize and relate to futaba. remember that. give us more in p5r
