Growing up in New Orleans was a vivacious experience. Unluckily, in most other cities in the United States, you had first-hand exposure to the history of jazz, voodoo magic, and other French inspirations that didn’t exist elsewhere. Things went bump in the night, and the next day, most people didn’t remember it. In one of the less crowded areas of New Orleans, though, was a small cafe, slash bookstore, and slash record store. The owner, Louis, couldn’t decide what to open, so he did it all. You could go in, get a latte, and then parooze the various vinyls and books for sale before settling down with your new entertainment. Sometimes, even local bands would play, or authors would have Q&As for their new releases. You worked at Louis’ (aptly titled) for about a year. You loved listening to the music, getting to know the regulars, and getting an employee discount on the books you loved. People also enjoyed the various specials each season, most of them named and/or paired with books or vinyl. It was just more fun that way.
One day, as you were wiping down the counters distractedly, you were startled from your stupor by a ring of the bell on the counter. Looking up, you noticed a gorgeous blond woman in front of you. Tall, with blond waves and blue eyes the color of a raging sea. She was willowy, but when she smiled at you, it felt like you were given a gift. You realized that she asked a question.
“Sorry, long day– can you repeat that?” you asked, throwing your rag to the side.
“What is your hot cocoa special like?” she asked, a slight rasp to her tone. You looked at the sign she was glancing at, advertising the Narnia special with a copy of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis.
“It’s a traditional hot chocolate topped off with caramel and hazelnut sprinkles, kind of like some iterations of Turkish Delight,” you answer. You stuttered a bit; you were never that good at talking to attractive people.
“Like the White Witch?” she smiles. You nod, and she goes to pull out her wallet. “I’d love to get a 12oz of that then.”
“What’s a good name for the order?” you smile as you find a stray Sharpie around. Truthfully, you didn’t take names at Louis’, but you just wanted to know hers.
“Freya.” She helped you spell it out, and you wondered the origin of the name. You got right to her order, glancing up now and then to see her looking at the shelves of books or the bargain bin in the record portion of the store.
She came in every day for the next two weeks. Your co-workers knew you harbored a slight crush on her, and every time she was in, they would excitedly text you, even if it were your day off. You would find ways to return to the cafe, citing forgetting something or needing to pick up a paycheck. You would strike up a conversation with her when you could. You discussed your favorite music, books, everything. She told you she’d been away for a while and was still getting used to being home with her family. On one eventful day, you showed her one of your favorite records ever (“Jagged Little Pill is a tribute to female angst, and necessary for all women to listen to,” you told her, shoving the record in her hand.) She came back the next day to say to you that she listened to all of it, switching back and forth between wanting to cry and wanting to throw furniture around her room. Every time she came in, she ordered the same hot cocoa. One time, she came in with a very handsome man in a well-pressed suit and an aura of sophistication. Your heart sank, but you relaxed when she introduced him as her brother. Freya still ordered her usual hot cocoa, but you convinced her brother (Elijah, you learn his name is) to try a London Fog if he hasn’t already. Freya tells you later that he enjoyed the tea latte and subtly went to the store the next day to get Earl Grey tea to make his own.
“Just ask her out,” Nimm, your good friend and co-worker, chastises you one day after the morning rush. You make sure to glare at them, returning to cleaning the espresso machine. “You like her.”
“She would not go out with someone like me,” you mumble. Nimm sighs, and you can tell they’re getting ready to lecture you on the merits of self-esteem.
“You are a wonderful person, Y/N. Don’t sell yourself short,” Nimm grabs the cleaning rag from you so that you’ll pay attention. “The worst that can happen is she says no. Not life or death. You’ll survive.”
You don’t have the chance to argue more with Nimm as Freya walks in at that second. Nimm vacates immediately, leaving you alone with Freya.
“The usual?” you ask, wringing your hands nervously under the counter.
“You read my mind,” Freya chuckles, already getting out her wallet. You can feel Nimm’s stare from the back, and you turn to see them motioning for you to get on with it. You send them an unsavory gesture before Freya can notice. Freya starts to ask a question.
“How are–”
“Do you want to get coffee sometime?” you rush, your eyes widening as you register Freya’s surprised expression. It quickly morphs into a smile, though, and you wonder if it’s possible for someone as young as you to have a heart attack.
“I was waiting for you to ask,” she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, and you thought you might explode in happiness. You heard vague cheering from the backroom and saw both Nimm and Louis celebrating. You gestured for Freya to wait a second as you stormed into the back and tried to beat up both of them. After many crashes, some screaming, and a few expletives, a couple of minutes later, you returned to Freya, who was trying her hardest not to die of laughter.
“Let me make your drink,” you sigh, scribbling on her cup before finishing the hot cocoa. Freya smiles as she notices that you put your number on the cup. “Meet me here tomorrow? I get off at 2 pm this time.”
“Sounds like a date,” Freya grins, walking out the door. You’re joined a second later by Nimm throwing an arm around you.
“See, that wasn’t so hard!” Nimm exclaims.
“When I murder you, I’ll make sure to make it look like an accident.”
Freya met you outside your work the next day, and despite not being dressed much differently than usual, she still took your breath away. She was like an ice princess, not because she was cold, but because she was effervescent. You walked arm in arm to a place that reminded you of her only after a couple of days of Freya coming to Louis’s. It was called Sucre Rêve, a chocolatier from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. You had made a reservation for the upstairs, where they served some of the best gourmet hot chocolate you’d ever had. Freya’s eyes were wide as saucers as she took in all the bright colors of the store, the cotton ball clouds suspended from the ceiling, and the various glittery decorations that made the place like a dreamland. You both ordered their classic coco covered in sprinkles and spent the whole experience laughing over whipped cream staches and talking about your various lives. You learned Freya was the oldest of six siblings, but two of them sadly passed away. They all lived together in the French Quarter, even though sometimes they didn’t get along. You didn’t press her for what happened to her other siblings or the family dynamic; you just appreciated her opening up. In return, you talked about your home life and shared more music recommendations for her. She had since become a vast Alanis Morisette fan, and you couldn’t blame her. You recommended Tori Amos to continue her journey into becoming a 90s rock girl.
You left the chocolatier feeling as light as a feather. The sky was dimming with the hints of a sunset, the winter months making everything go dark early. You just walked with Freya through the last remnants of the sun, enjoying the cotton candy clouds.
“Thank you for going out with me,” you said, breaking the silence.
“I would do it again,” she breathed softly. You stopped before Louis, hands in your jacket pockets as you searched for what to say. “Can I call you?”
“Always,” you answer, much quicker than what is considered excellent. Freya steps towards you, pushing a strand of hair behind your ear. Your breath catches in your throat as she kisses your cheek, her lips cold from the weather. “You missed,” you mutter, watching Freya’s eyebrows draw together in confusion. You lean forward, kissing her on her lips, enjoying the little gasp she lets out as you press further into her. You kiss her once on her cheek before pulling away. “Like I said, you missed.”
She grins, pulling you in for another kiss as the sun continues descending behind you, painting you both in a warm glow. And to think you finally found your perfect person over a cup of hot cocoa.

No Need to be Jealous
Requested by: Anonymous
Pairing: Freya Mikaelson x fem!reader
Genre: Smut, Fluff
Characters: Freya, Y/N, Hayley
Description: Y/N and Hayley have just found out that they are sisters but Freya doesn’t know. She gets jealous of all the time they are spending together and how close they are becoming and takes Y/N to show her who she belongs to.
Tumblr media
Freya sat at the table across the room from you and Hayley, giving daggers to the young werewolf as she once again brought you in for a hug. You waved goodbye and walked back over to Freya, who’s hands were clenched tight into fists. “What’s the matter?” You nodded to her hands and she smiled, shaking her head.
“Nothing, babe. I didn’t even know I was doing that.” You chuckled and reached over the table for her hand, bringing it up to kiss it. “You really do amuse me, Freya. Everything you do is so quirky.” A ping sounded on your phone and you picked it up, immediately smiling when you seen who it was.
“Who’s that?” “Hayley.” Frustration and jealousy built up inside her once again at the mention of her name. You noticed her change in behavior and raised an eyebrow. “Are you sure you’re alright? You’re acting more strange than usual.” Freya nodded, not looking you in the eye. “I just wanna get out of here.” “Alright, just let me finish this text and then we’ll go.” Those last few seconds felt like hours to Freya as she watched your smile widen as you typed.
“What does she have that I don’t? I’m gonna show Y/N exactly who she belongs to.”
As soon as you put your phone back into your pocket, Freya grabbed your hand and hurried you away, desperate to make her feelings known.
Freya swung the front door open with her magic, pulled you inside and slammed the door shut with her foot before backing you up against the wall, her hand on your throat. A devilish smirk emerged on your face as you realized why Freya wanted to leave in such a hurry.
“So this is why you wanted to leave so suddenly? Desperate to get me all alone?” Freya closed her other hand tightly over your mouth, leaving you unable to speak. She leaned down next to your face and whispered in your ear. “You don’t get to talk, you don’t even get to move. You are all mine and you’re going to do exactly as your told, understood?”
You ever so slightly nodded your head, trying your best to ignore the growing wetness pooling in your underwear. Freya leaned back, pupils blown with lust, before attacking your neck, sucking and biting at the delicate skin. You writhed and wriggled underneath her but she just tightened her grip on you.
“What did I say?! No moving!” Her grip strengthened as she made her way down your body, biting and kissing ever so slowly on your sensitive areas. She released your mouth and laced two fingers to the inside of your underwear, licking her lips.
“My, my Y/N, you are such a dirty girl.” A low moan escaped your mouth when Freya easily inserted two fingers inside of you, your juices acting as a lubricant. Usually, she would give you time to adjust but Freya was in no mood for waiting. She pumped inside you at an inhuman speed inserting a third then a fourth finger, spreading you wider and wider until her hand was swallowed inside you.
“You are mine, Y/N, and only mine! No-one else can make you feel this good, especially not Hayley!” Your climax was quickly approaching so you reached around your body and rubbed your clit, sending shock-waves through your body.
Once your orgasm passed, your knees buckled and you slid down the wall as Freya removed her hand from inside you. She knelt down and kissed your sweaty forehead before going to the kitchen to grab a towel.
You were lost in the afterglow of the orgasm when something crossed your mind. “Hey, babe.” Freya walked back in and sat beside you. “Yes?” “What did you mean by ‘especially not Hayley?” Freya’s face went beetroot when the subject was brought up.
“Err-well, I-I guess I’ve been getting a little jealous of all the time you’ve been spending with her. I thought you were falling for her.” You shook your head, chuckled and held Freya’s hands in yours.
“Sweetheart, you have nothing to be jealous about. I’ve been spending so much time with her because....she’s my sister. We’ve only just found out and we wanted to be able to get to know each other properly.” Freya’s cheeks blushed again and she looked down at her knees in embarrassment. “I’m so sorry.”
“You have nothing to be sorry about, but how about we go upstairs and I show you exactly how I feel about you, eh? Give you the time of your life.” Freya looked up at you and smiled mischievously, nodding in agreement.
You stood up, helped Freya up and guided her upstairs, ready to show Freya exactly what she meant to you.

Hiii 🫶🏼 I hope you're still up for doing an Elijah request! 🤗 I can't get this man out of my head haha
Soo it would be an idea where they met somewhere in Mystic Falls and immediately felt some bond between them, so it happens that they start falling in love (she's human but knows about vampires) but she's too afraid to get hurt so she also tries not to get too close to Elijah. One night he sees some stranger following her home from the Grill and even starts attacking her, Elijah is immediately there saving her and taking her home with him to treat her wounds (mostly some scratches) and he's just super worried. There she realizes that Elijah would never be the one hurting her and they finally share their feelings with a lot of kissing and cuddles afterwards and he holds her, telling how much she means to him.
Oh I hope this is not too weird at all 🙈❤️
Description: Upon meeting Elijah Mikaelson, the feelings start to come but in fear of being hurt, the reader decides to keep her walls up to protect herself. This changes after Elijah protects her after being attacked.
Warnings: fluff, small angst, physical assault (mild), she/her pronouns, maybe swearing?
*Requests are open, please send through as many requests as you want, check my character list and requesting rules.*
Thanks so much for making this request! I can never get sick of Elijah, this man is always on my mind and please feel free to request again if you wish :) I really enjoyed writing this, thank you again :D
Key: Y/N = Your Name, POV = Point of view

First Person's POV
Tonight at the Grill was a ‘live acoustics’ night, some of the performers were good and others were quite frankly not that great. Bonnie, Elena and Caroline were off on the next big adventure for the vampiric save-the-day business and while I knew about all the vampires, witches, werewolves and all that extra fun stuff. Besides Matt, I was the only human in the group and somehow I was pushed aside to be kept ‘safe; despite Matt always being dragged into the whirlpool of drama even if he didn’t want to be.
“The music is wonderful for the atmosphere tonight, don’t you agree?” That voice would haunt my dreams, haunt my every thought, I couldn’t fathom how gentle and warm a voice could sound. I glanced to the side, shooting a polite smile to the impeccably dressed man and nodded in agreement.
“I do agree, I feel like I’m in like a cute little romance story, the warm lighting and the music-“ I cut myself short, realising I was babbling to a random stranger who more than likely did not care for my ideas and thoughts.
“I can see how you would see that.” Oh, gosh- those eyes! That smile! This man would haunt me forever, picture perfect and everything I would want in a man. I continued to share a polite smile with the man, fiddling with the straw in my chocolate milkshake and turned myself slightly to face the man a little better.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you…?” Realising that he was waiting for my name, I placed my drink down and took his hand.
“Y/N L/N” He softly cupped my hand, shaking it and proceeded to share his name.
“Elijah Mikaelson.” I wish I could’ve hidden my reaction better, my eyes went wide, and my smile flattened for a moment before I quickly made sure to continue to be nice and polite. Elijah carefully rested my head on the bar, took a small sip of whatever his drink was and gazed at me with a quizzical look.
“You know who I am…” His tone was neither harsh nor hurt, Elijah seemed to have suspected my knowledge of his name and he even seemed curious by the idea of my knowledge.
“I know of your brother Niklaus… Elena told me about you, I think she might have exaggerated a bit. You don’t seem like the antagonist she kinda painted you out to be. From what I’ve heard, you’re the nicer brother… the noble one and I'm sure first glances can be deceiving but… I don’t know- you don’t seem like a bad man.”  He briefly licked his lips, eyes shooting up to the ceiling and seemed to be contemplating his next moves.
“I suppose you know-“
“That you’re a…” I leaned closer to whisper so people passing by wouldn’t hear.
“An Original.”
“You don’t seem to be phased.”
“Team doppelgänger has built up my immunity to supernatural beings.” I let out a weak chuckle, cringing internally and turned my focus back on my drink. I wanted to keep speaking with him, I really did want to keep speaking with him but I knew the world that I happened to live in and I didn’t fancy the idea of being bait or hurt as collateral damage.
“It was really nice to meet you Elijah but I have to go.” He nodded, that handsome smile appearing once more, his actions made me gush and brought butterflies into my belly as he grabbed my jacket and assisted in placing it back on.
“I hope that you have a good evening, Y/N”
“Same to you Elijah.” He seemed to have a thought pop into his head, I stopped in my tracks, allowing for him to have the benefit of the doubt and give him the chance to speak his mind.
“May I have the pleasure of seeing you again?”
“Maybe… There’s always tomorrow.” I knew I had given myself away, I could feel my heart skip a beat, I’m sure he could hear it, his facial expression didn’t change but I could feel that he knew what I was feeling.
“Have a good evening,” I whispered, brushing past him to carry on my way.
+++++++
I had seen Elijah a couple of times since our first meeting, we had small conversations and I tried my best to conceal my heart, I didn't want to get close to this man despite enjoying his presence, his voice and the true appearance of his gentlemanly ways made me fall into a daydream greater than any story or dream I could ever have or read.
The next time I saw Elijah was three months after our first meeting, as I said we had multiple different meetings and they were all the greatest moments of my life despite how much I tried to protect my fragile heart. I had left my home for the park, I wanted to read outside of my home and get some fresh air away from the stuffiness of my bedroom. I rested the picnic blanket underneath a large tree, I read three chapters of my book before I felt a presence looming nearby, I placed the book to the side and stood up, surveying the area for a figure and jumped in my skin seeing Elijah approaching me.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to frighten you, may I join you?" I nodded, smiling at the man, watching as he unbuttoned his shirt and sat down with me on the picnic blanket. He gently picked my book up, staring at the cover with intrigue, I observed him with butterflies growing in my stomach, a blush wanting to form on my cheeks as I continued to drown in what was possibly a huge crush for the Original Vampire.
"Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi... I'm not sure I've heard of this one before."
"I doubt you would've, I don't exactly picture you reading a book like this?" He smiled, tilting his head slightly, a deep chuckle leaving his mouth and he handed me back the book.
"Why is that?"
"Well... I don't know, I picture you reading older books nothing from the late 20th century to the early 21st century." Elijah briefly nodded in agreement, I smiled proudly at my guess and fiddled with the tassels hanging off of my bookmark. The vampire took off his suit jacket and began rolling up the sleeves of his button-up, I bit the inside of my cheek, begging myself to remain calm and avoid giving away any kind of emotions being revealed.
"Enlighten me, will you though, please? What's it about?" I cleared my throat, leaning closer to him with joy forming, giddy that he was showing interest in something that I liked and enjoyed.
"It's the third book in the series, I've read it before, and this one is one of my favourites. Essentially the series is all about control some people have these powers and the leaders are trying to control these people. The relationship of the main characters is what I happen to enjoy the most about it, I love how Tahereh created their bond from..."
"Why did you stop?" Elijah gently questioned, his face furrowing in concern, I wanted to cringe but I forced the words out before I could let that show. Taking a deep breath, I turned my gaze back to him, scrunching my face up briefly and proceeded to explain to Elijah what was going through my head.
"Whenever I ramble on to the Salvatores and all that, it's clear that they don't care and I'm not wanting to force that onto you. I'm sorry." Elijah tutted, shaking his head and holding out his hand for me to take. Hesitating for a moment, I finally rested my hand in his, holding my breath for a moment and kept my eyes focused on him as he rested his other hand on top of mine.
"You do that too often, Y/N, I can see you trying to protect your heart and you have a wide range of information waiting to come out and you shut yourself down because you expect everyone else to do that. I hope you find someone... someone who makes you realise you don't need to do that."
"Could possibly end up being you, Elijah," I whispered.
+++++
When someone unknown came into Mystic Falls, it was always a concerning event, the vampires were always the most suspicious of strangers and most of the time they were typically right for not trusting the stranger. It was late when I left the grill tonight, Elijah was growing on my mind more and more, and I would be hit with a wave of memories at random moments.
"Up ahead, there's an alley to your right, walk down it. Try anything-"
"Okay... I understand." I whispered, complying as I walked a little quicker and turned down the alleyway. I cried out as I was instantly shoved against the wall, my head ached and the world spun around me, I bit back a sob as I hit the ground and hissed as the gravel bit into my skin. I kicked off my heels, not fancying a broken ankle and lept to my feet running towards the street but missed as the man tackled me to the ground and which resulted in blood slightly trickling down my forehead and more cuts forming against my skin.
It felt like something out of a vampire movie, I heard a whoosh and then a light thud. Elijah appeared, holding the man against the wall effortlessly with one hand and easily compelled the man to walk off and not commit any sort of crime again. I let out a few sobs as the pain sunk in and the adrenaline started to fade away.
Elijah swooped me into his arms, effortlessly taking me to his mansion and rested me down on his obnoxiously large bed. He crouched down, gently cupping my face in his hands, observing my facial features and swiftly disappeared somewhere before running back.
"Are you okay?" He questioned, focusing on grabbing the things from the first-aid kit to treat my wounds.
"I'm okay..." I whispered, hissing as he wiped an alcohol wipe across the graze on my palm and watched as he apologised profusely for inflicting any added pain onto me. Elijah was so attentive to my needs, he cleaned the blood and dirt away from my cuts and grazes. Covering them with bandaids, doing what he could to assist in caring for me. It was as he was lingering for a moment, observing my form that I realised that Elijah Mikaelson would never hurt me. He would never cause any harm to me, Elijah Mikaelson would protect me and I knew that I wouldn't need to worry any longer.
"You wouldn't hurt me..." I whispered, staring at the vampire as he grasped my face and held eye contact with me.
"Y/N L/N I would never dream of hurting you, you... you're perfect... Y/N you are the epitome of perfect, I haven't met someone as intelligent, kind, sweet, and funny in a long time. Y/N I love you and I hope that you'll allow-" I pushed myself closer to him, carefully cupping his face to kiss the man who had possessed my dreams too often.
"Elijah, please, never let me go, I can't keep guarding myself-"
"Shhh, I've got you." He kissed my forehead, pulling me into his arms and pushing himself to lay against the headboard of his bed. I inhaled, holding onto the warm and mesmerising smell of his cologne, I curled into his chest and hummed gently as he rested another kiss on my forehead.
I felt protected, Elijah was my guardian angel, and he made me feel warm and gooey. Made me giddy and the butterflies a constant swarm in my belly, I fiddled with his hands, staring at the family ring that rested on his finger and glanced to him as he pulled my face to meet his. I hummed as he rested a kiss against my lips, sucking in another deep breath and curling in closer as he strokes my hair, his touch comforting and loving.
"Can I stay here? Just in your arms? Where I'm safe and with you, you Elijah who looks after me and takes the time to listen and know me?" Elijah's smile made the butterflies come to life, my cheeks flushed red and his simple words reassured me for an infinity of time.
"Always and forever."

It was the day of your wedding and you were awoken by the birds chirping outside of your bedroom window. You rolled over to find your side of the bed empty and cold, a note from Elijah in his elegant handwriting.
My love,
I thought it best if I did not see you until the ceremony, as that is a tradition.
I have not been able to sleep. I am both excited and nervous for today, my beautiful wife. I will spend every waking moment cherishing you.
Elijah
You smiled to yourself as you read his words, imagining him pacing the floor as he wrote this, probably in the study or the library.
You pressed the note to your chest, you could hardly believe that you were getting married today. It was a day you had dreamed about since you were young. You had imagined what your wedding dress would look like, the flowers you would pick for the arrangement, how you would wear your hair. But now, none of that seemed important, the only thing on your mind was what came after the wedding.
Elijah would make you a vampire tonight, and then you would have eternity together.
He was still hesitant, even though you had insisted this was what you wanted. He worried that one day you would regret it, that you would hate him for it, that it would break the connection between the two of you.
But he was wrong, you knew it would only strengthen your bond. You loved him so much that it was impossible to put it into words. You would do anything for him, give him anything, including your life.
After a few moments of lying in bed and thinking of your handsome husband to be, you heard the sound of your bedroom door opening. In walked your three bridesmaids and your maid of honor, carrying a tray of delicious breakfast foods.
"Good morning, sleeping beauty!" Rebekah said, walking around the bed and placing the tray on the mattress in front of you.
"What are you still doing in bed?" Freya asked.
"Yeah, it's your wedding day! We have a lot to do!" Camille exclaimed.
You chuckled and sat up in bed, tucking the duvet over your legs. Hayley laid on the bed next to you, popping a bottle of champagne open and pouring four glasses.
"Everybody relax, we have lots of time," she said, handing you a glass. "Don't stress her out,"
Rebekah rolled her eyes and picked up a bag from the floor.
"We have some gifts for you, Mrs. Mikaelson," she teased.
"I'm not Mrs. Mikaelson, yet," you pointed out, taking a sip of the champagne.
"Oh please, the two of you act married already, he is the most whipped man I have ever seen," Rebekah said, sitting on the other side of the bed and passing a wrapped present to you.
You giggled at her comment, knowing it was true. You were a little surprised by how much he was willing to bend to your will. He was a stubborn man, but with you, he was a complete pushover. He told you once that he found it impossible to deny you anything, and that's how he knew you were the one.
You carefully unwrapped the gift and found a beautiful necklace, with a sapphire pendant, you held it up to the light, the rays bouncing off the gem and painting the walls of your room in blue light.
"It's beautiful," you said, smiling at the girls.
"It's something blue, from Freya," Rebekah explained, as Freya fastened it around your neck.
"I spelled it so you can always find each other, no matter where you are. So when you are away, you can always feel him close to you," she explained.
You were touched by her thoughtfulness, touching the stone as it rested against your chest. You couldn't explain it, but it did feel like him, like he was right beside you.
"Thank you, Freya," you said, squeezing her hand.
"Okay now mine!" Rebekah interrupted, holding her present out to you. "Something old,"
You grinned and took the large box from her, opening it to find a beautiful vintage corset, along with a matching set of lace underwear and stockings.
"Rebekah, these are gorgeous!" You said, running your fingers over the intricate designs.
"They're vintage, of course," she said, proudly. "Elijah is rather fond of that time period, I thought they might... inspire him," she added, winking.
You blushed, he didn't need any encouragement in the bedroom, you were certain of that.
"My gift is next," Hayley said, holding out her gift to you. "Something new, and I'm really sorry, but they aren't quite as classy as the last two," she said, nervously.
You took the bag and opened it, it was full of luxury naughty nightwear, baby dolls, bras, panties, a silk robe, all in different colors and fabrics. Along with a few sex toys and a pair of handcuffs.
"I had to get you something practical," she said, with a smirk.
"I love it, thank you," you said, giggling. "I will certainly put them to good use,"
"Okay now mine, it's something borrowed," Camille said, handing you a small box.
You opened the velvet box and found a gorgeous pair of diamond earrings, with a matching bracelet.
"Camille, these are beautiful," you breathed, examining the sparkling jewels.
"They've been in my family for a long time, they belonged to my grandmother," she explained, clasping the bracelet around your wrist.
You looked at your wrist and smiled, your friends were the most wonderful women you had ever met, they had been so welcoming and so supportive, and now here they were, giving you the best gifts ever.
"Thank you, all of you, so much. This has been the best morning," you said, pulling them all in for a group hug.
"More champagne!" Rebekah exclaimed, grabbing the bottle and topping up everyone's glass.
"We still have the day to go, I'm going to have a terrible hangover at my own wedding," you pointed out, taking a large sip anyway.
"Not for long," Rebekah said, a mischievous smile on her face.
The wedding party went quiet, everyone knew exactly what she was talking about, that Elijah was planning to turn you after the reception.
"It's really happening then, tonight?" Hayley asked, looking at you.
You nodded.
"How are you feeling about it?" She asked.
"A little nervous, I guess," you admitted. "But excited,"
"It's a big decision, are you sure you are ready for it?" Freya asked, putting her arm around you.
"Absolutely. I've never been more sure of anything," you said, without hesitation.
"You'll make a lovely one," Rebekah added, pulling you out of bed and to your feet.
"Come on, we have a lot to do, the hair and makeup people will be here in an hour, and I need to make sure you eat something first," she said, ushering you towards the bathroom.
"And then we can finally see this dress!" Hayley added, excitedly.
The five of you spent the rest of the morning in a flurry of activity, the girls made sure you ate and drank water, despite how much champagne was flowing. The hairdresser and makeup artist did wonders, and then finally, it was time for the dress.
You had put on the vintage corset and underwear, rolling up the stocking and clipping them in place. The girls helped you step into the gown, fastening the buttons up the back, before you stood in front of the mirror.
Rebekah started to cry and Freya and Camille put their arms around her, all of them staring at you.
"Are you okay, Bekah?" You asked, looking at her reflection.
She wiped her tears and sniffed. "He's going to faint when he sees you,"
The four of them laughed and you turned around, holding out your hands.
"Well, let's go get married,"
Tumblr media
The music started as you entered the garden, and everyone stood, turning to look at you.
It was like a fairytale.
Your eyes were on Elijah the entire time, his eyes were a bit glassy and he was nervously playing with his hands. Klaus handed him a tissue, patting his shoulder and Rebekah hooked her arm in yours , guiding you down the aisle.
"No fainting yet," you whispered to Rebekah, making her giggle.
"I promise I will catch him if he does," she whispered back.
He held out his hand to you when you finally reached him and you took it, Rebekah handing your bouquet to Hayley.
"Hello," you whispered, looking up at him.
"Hi," he replied, smiling down at you, his brown eyes warm and loving.
"You look perfect," he said, softly.
"So do you," you said, grinning at him.
Klaus cleared his throat and began to speak.
"We are gathered here today, to join Elijah and Y/n in matrimony. They have both written their own vows, so Elijah, you may start,"
Elijah squeezed your hands and smiled at you, his eyes soft and full of love.
"My love, you are the one that I have waited centuries for. The one who brings light into my life. I love you so much, I will be forever grateful that I found you. I promise to spend every day of eternity showing you how much I love and cherish you. Thank you for agreeing to marry me, thank you for loving me," he said, his voice thick with emotion.
You felt tears in your eyes as he finished speaking, reaching up and brushing a tear away with his thumb. The crowd aww'd at his words, and the entire wedding party dabbed at their eyes with tissues.
"I'm afraid my vows are going to sound a little lame after that," you teased, making Elijah chuckle.
"Elijah," you began. "I have loved you from the moment I saw you. You have always been there for me, through good and bad, you have taken care of me, supported me, loved me. I know my heart is safe with you. You have always said you would give me the world, and I know you will, and I want to give you mine, for as long as I live,"
Elijah's eyes became glassy again and he took a deep breath, fighting back his tears.
"Do we have the rings?" Klaus asked.
You glanced down the aisle to see Hope toddling towards you, with a pillow in her hands. Everyone watched her and she reached you, proudly handing the rings to her uncle.
"Thank you, darling," Elijah said, ruffling her hair.
"You may exchange the rings," Klaus said, Hope was now clinging to his leg, watching the ceremony with fascination.
Elijah slipped the ring on your finger, and you did the same, looking down at the two silver bands. You realized that your ring had a lapis lazuli stone embedded in the metal, the one that would allow you to walk in the sunlight when you were a vampire.
"Elijah, do you take Y/n as your lawfully wedded wife, to love and cherish, until death do you part?"
"I do," he replied, staring deep into your eyes.
"Y/n, do you take Elijah as your lawfully wedded husband, to love and cherish, until death do you part?"
"I do," you said, unable to stop yourself from smiling.
"Well then, by the power invested in me by a monk in the 12th century, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride,"
Elijah cupped your cheek in his hand, brushing his thumb over your cheekbone, before leaning down and pressing his lips to yours. His hands moved down your back, tilting you backwards, dipping you. The guests cheered and applauded, and the photographer snapped pictures.
"I love you," he said, whispering the words into your mouth.
"I love you, Mr. Mikaelson," you said, grinning.
He pulled you up, his eyes were bright, and his cheeks were flushed, his happiness radiating off him.
"Mrs. Mikaelson," he said, softly.
You kissed him again, the two of you wrapped in each other's embrace, his arms holding you tight against him.
"Let's get this party started!" Marcel yelled, causing a cheer from the crowd.
The two of you made your way back down the aisle, and back into the house. As soon as you were inside, you pulled Elijah in for a passionate kiss, wrapping your arms around his neck.
"We are married," you said, giggling.
"Indeed we are," he replied, smiling.
"Can't we skip the party, and just go upstairs now?" You asked, kissing him again.
"My greedy little wife," he teased. "Don't worry, tonight will be worth the wait,"
Tumblr media
The compound was elaborately decorated, with lights and flowers hanging everywhere, and the guests were laughing and dancing, having a great time.
You sat at a table near the dance floor with your new husband, watching everyone. His hand was resting on your thigh, squeezing it gently every so often.
It was getting late, the sun had set and the guests were getting more and more drunk. The music slowed and the couples swayed together, some kissing and holding each other tight.
"So," Elijah whispered in your ear. "How are you feeling about tonight?"
"I can't wait," you said, turning to look at him. "I just can't wait for us to start our lives together,"
"Me either, sweetheart," he said, brushing his lips against your temple. "Are you sure this is what you want?"
"I want this." You placed a hand on his cheek. "More than anything."
He let out a long sigh, his hand squeezing your thigh tighter. But he didn't say anything else.
After a moment, he stood up and held out his hand.
"Dance with me?"
You took his hand and he led you out to the dance floor. You wrapped your arms around his neck and his hands rested on your hips.
The two of you danced slowly to the music, lost in each other's eyes.
"What are you thinking about?" You asked him, breaking the silence.
"Nothing." He replied, smiling softly, looking away.
You narrowed your eyes. "Don't lie to me, Mr. Mikaelson."
He chuckled. "Fine. I'm thinking about how beautiful you are, and how lucky I am."
"I'm the lucky one," you whispered, leaning in and kissing him softly.
The two of you continued slow dancing and you rested your head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat.
"I'm nervous," He admitted, softly his hands running up and down your back.
You lifted your head and looked up at him. "Why?"
"I don't want to see you die," He looked into your eyes, and you could see the pain behind them. "I don't want to watch the light leave your eyes, and not be able to do anything about it."
You cupped his cheek and stroked it. "I'll come right back, Elijah. You have nothing to worry about."
He nodded, then leaned in and kissed you, soft and slow. His hands on your hips, slowly guiding you, the two of you still moving to the music.
After a few minutes, he broke the kiss, pressing his forehead against yours.
"I don't think I'm capable of not worrying about you." He said, a soft chuckle escaping his lips.
"Well," You whispered, smiling up at him. "That's something we have in common, then."
His hands were on your lower back, his fingertips tracing patterns on the soft fabric.
"Do you remember when we met?" He asked, looking down at you.
"I do." You said, giggling. "It was the most cliché thing ever, but I remember it like it was yesterday."
"You were wearing a green dress." He recalled. "You were trying to get a book from the top shelf at this little bookstore. You had climbed onto a chair and were stretching your arm as far as you could, but you just couldn't reach it. And I thought, 'that's the most adorable thing I've ever seen'."
You laughed, remembering how flustered you'd been. "And then, I dismissed your attempt to help me as being creepy,"
"Until you tripped over your own feet and fell into my arms." He reminded you, a smirk on his face.
"You caught me, though." You whispered.
"That I did," he murmured. "And I will always catch you."
You stood on your tiptoes, kissing him softly. "I'm glad," you said.
His hands moved lower, grabbing your ass, and pulling you closer. You blushed and looked around quickly, but nobody seemed to be paying any attention to you.
"I remember something else about the day we met," he whispered in your ear.
You looked up at him and smiled. "What?"
"How you looked in my bed that night, the soft little moans you made," he teased.
You bit your lip, a wave of arousal washing over you. The memory still fresh in your mind.
"You have a way of making me lose all sense," you said, breathlessly.
"I know," he smirked, his eyes sparkling, "I've got you right where I want you."
You giggled, burying your face in his chest, breathing in his scent.
"You are so bad," you whispered.
He hummed in agreement, squeezing your ass once more, causing you to let out a little squeak.
"We should say goodbye to our guests," he murmured. "There is a car waiting,"
You nodded and let him guide you around, saying goodbye to all the guests. They followed the two of you out to the courtyard, and then they began throwing rice and rose petals, while the two of you got into the waiting car.
As the car drove away, the guests cheered and you couldn’t help the huge grin on your face, waving at them until they were out of sight.
Elijah's hand rested on your thigh, rubbing circles with his thumb. You rested your head on his shoulder, watching the city go by.
"So, are you going to tell me where we are going?" You asked, glancing at him.
"There's this lakehouse, about an hour from here. It's a quiet, private place, not even my siblings know about it." He said, pulling your hand into his lap.
"You didn't tell anyone about it?" You asked, a little shocked.
"Not a soul," he said, smiling. "I've had a few secret hideaways over the years, but this one is special."
"Why is that?" You asked.
"It's where I go to get away from everything, to clear my head and recharge," he explained. "And now, it's going to be our special place,"
"That's sweet," you said, kissing his cheek.
The drive seemed to take forever, but finally the car turned onto a long driveway. Elijah helped you out of the car, and then he scooped you into his arms.
"You are such a romantic," you said, giggling.
"I try," he teased, carrying you inside.
He set you down in the entryway, and then took your hand, leading you around. It was a gorgeous home, and it was obvious that Elijah had put a lot of work into it.
But he didn't give you much time to admire it, before he was on you, quickly dragging you to the bedroom.
His hands roaming your body, his mouth crashing onto yours, your arms wrapping around his neck, pulling him closer.
"Don't you dare rip my wedding dress Mr. Mikaelson," you breathed.
"Wouldn't dream of it," he murmured, his hands gently tugging the fabric.
You giggled and pushed him away, holding his gaze, then you turned and looked over your shoulder at him, motioning to the buttons going down your back.
His fingers deftly undid the small buttons, taking his time, as if he was savoring each one. He kissed along the back of your neck and shoulders, pushing the straps of the dress off, and letting it fall to the ground.
His hands went to your waist, helping you step out of the dress, and he knelt down, picking it up and placing it carefully on a nearby chair.
"Such a gentleman," you said, softly.
His gaze roamed over your body, admiring the way the lingerie clung to your skin, accentuating every curve.
"Gorgeous," he said, stepping closer, his fingers tracing along the boning of the corset.
Your hands went to his chest, reaching up to undo his bowtie. He watched your hands, his eyes darkening with desire.
You tossed the tie aside, and began unbuttoning his shirt. You leaned in and pressed a kiss to his lips, your hands continuing their path.
When you got to his pants, you stopped, a wicked grin spreading across your face. You ran your finger along his waistband, teasing him.
He groaned and picked you up, and you instinctively wrapped your legs around his waist, your arms around his neck.
In an instant you were on the bed, the speed of vampires never ceased to amaze you. You lay there, looking up at him, your hair fanning out around your head, and you couldn't help but grin.
"Will you teach me to do that?" You asked, referring to the vamp speed.
He chuckled, leaning down and kissing your cheek. "Of course, my love. I will teach you everything you need to know."
You smiled, then reached up and pulled him down, crushing your lips together. He pressed his hips against yours, and you could feel the bulge in his pants.
"What else can you teach me?" You whispered, biting your lip and looking into his eyes, trying to look all sweet and innocent.
He raised an eyebrow and smirked, his eyes darkening. "Lots of things."
You ran a hand through his hair, tugging lightly. "I can't wait."
He grinned and leaned in, capturing your lips in a bruising kiss. His hands moving all over your body, caressing and squeezing.
"But first I'm going to take this corset off." He said, his fingers trailing down your chest and finding the ribbons. "I'm going to untie it slowly, and then I'm going to kiss every inch of your skin."
You let out a small gasp, his words sending a wave of arousal through you. He pressed his hips harder against your hand, still working to slowly untie the first ribbon.
"I'm going to make you come all over my tongue," He said, his voice raspy and low, working on loosening the second ribbon, pulling it free. "Over," He tugged on the third, "And over," the fourth, "And over."
You moaned, his words making you dizzy, and he grinned, pulling the last ribbon loose.
The corset fell away, and Elijah quickly pulled it from you, tossing it aside. His hands were on your breasts immediately, his thumbs brushing over your nipples, causing them to harden.
He lowered his head, his tongue flicking out and swirling around one nipple, before sucking it into his mouth.
You were panting, your hands gripping the sheets, watching as he made his way down, slowly removing your panties. He kissed his way up your thighs, his eyes never leaving yours.
He looked up at you and smirked, then slowly lowered his head, groaning as he licked a broad stroke over your pussy.
You gasped, arching your back, pushing yourself closer to him. He chuckled, his hands gripping your thighs, pushing them further apart, his tongue teasing and licking at your clit.
You were in heaven. The sounds he was making, the way he was devouring you, it all felt incredible. You couldn't help the moans and whimpers escaping from your throat, only fueling him on.
You couldn't tear your eyes away from the sight of him between your legs, the way his gaze would meet yours sent a thrill through you. He looked so content and satisfied, his eyes hooded, his tongue working you expertly.
He suddenly slipped a finger inside you, curling it against your walls, searching for that sweet spot. When he found it, he smirked, picking up the pace of his tongue lapping at your clit.
You came undone in seconds. Your walls clenched around his finger and your back arched, crying out his name.
He lifted his head, staring up at you, his eyes black. He licked his lips and winked at you, two of his fingers still pumping in and out of you.
He looked down at your flushed face and swollen lips, watching your body coming down from your high. You were always so beautiful after an orgasm. He could always coax these little spasms out of you afterwards, making you moan even more.
"I love you." He whispered. "My perfect wife."
With a wicked smirk, he slid a third finger in, curling against your g-spot, a delighted squeak escaping your lips as you squeezed his fingers.
"I can't wait to spend eternity with you," He said, his voice slow and gruff, the pleasure overwhelming you. "Watching you come like this, every night."
He continued to pump his fingers, with firm and steady strokes, the pressure building and building. Your body began to tense again, your moans becoming louder and more desperate. He grinned, watching you fall apart for him.
Your body started to shake, the waves of pleasure hitting you again and again, as you came on his fingers. He captured your lips in a rough kiss, swallowing your moans.
You collapsed on the bed, breathing heavily, the aftershocks still rolling through you. Elijah leaned down and kissed your neck, nuzzling against you.
"My wife," he said, savoring the way it sounded.
You giggled, still feeling a bit floaty. You looked up at him, taking in the sight of him. He was so handsome, his dark hair slightly disheveled, his eyes shining with love and affection.
"My husband," you said, reaching up and brushing some hair out of his eyes.
He smiled, his hands tracing along your bare skin. "You don't have to turn tonight, if you're not ready,"
You shook your head, smiling. "No, I want to. I'm ready."
"Are you sure?" He asked, his voice full of concern.
"Eli," you said, cupping his cheek. "I'll be okay,"
His expression turned a bit serious, his eyes flashing with worry.
"You're my whole world, I won't lose you," he said, kissing you deeply.
"You won't lose me," you said, softly.
"Promise?" He asked, his hand moving to your cheek, stroking it gently.
"I promise," you said, your heart fluttering.
He gently pushed your legs apart, his fingers stroking your thigh, the touch sending sparks through you.
"I will never let anything happen to you," he said, positioning himself between your legs.
"I know," you said, gasping when you felt him ease into you, slowly and gently.
"I love you," he said, leaning down and kissing your lips, as he began to move his hips, pushing himself deeper. "More than anything,"
"I love you, too." You gasped, wrapping your legs around him, pulling him closer.
One of his hands went to the small of your back, the other cradling behind your neck. He held you to him, forehead to forehead, his eyes boring into yours.
He rocked his hips, grinding against you, filling you completely. His thumb brushed across your lower lip, then his lips pressed against yours, whispering how much he loved you.
You felt as though your heart beats were the same, the way it was pounding in your chest, in time with his. The way he held you like this, close and tight, it was everything.
The heat and friction began building between you, his thrusts becoming deeper and harder. The air filled with the sounds of your moans and sighs, your bodies moving together.
You could feel another orgasm building, your breath coming in short, ragged pants. He seemed to sense this, his pace picking up, his eyes locked on yours.
"I want you to come with me," he said, his voice husky and low, as his hips drove into you, over and over.
"Yes," you whimpered, your fingers digging into his back, leaving crescent moon marks in his skin.
Together, you let go, your bodies trembling and shuddering, clinging to each other. He buried his face in your neck, groaning, his teeth scraping your skin.
You lay there for a few moments, holding each other, your breathing slowly returning to normal. His lips were still against your neck, his arms wrapped around you.
"Elijah?" You asked, hesitantly.
"Mmm?" He mumbled, not wanting to move.
"I know how I want to die," you said, quietly.
He pulled back, looking at you. ". . . You do?"
You nodded, chewing your bottom lip, you weren't sure if he would be willing to do this for you.
"I want you to drink from me," you said, softly.
His eyes widened, a look of shock on his face.
"I mean, only if you're okay with it. We can find a different way... You can just snap my neck like we originally planned... I just thought...," you said, quickly, starting to ramble.
He cut you off with a deep, passionate kiss.
"Are you sure?" He asked, once the kiss broke.
You nodded, a shy smile on your face.
"Absolutely."
"Alright, but if it gets too much, tell me. We can always stop," he said, his hand resting on your cheek.
"Okay," you said, nodding.
He sat up, leaning against the headboard, pulling you into his lap. His hands on your hips, he didn't move for a moment, just looked at you, a gentle smile on his lips.
"I'm ready Elijah... I want this," you said, cupping his face, and brushing your lips against his.
He kissed you softly, with pure tenderness and love. He looked into your eyes, and you could see the conflicting emotions running through him. Fear, happiness, sorrow, joy.
You stroked his cheek, reassuring him.
"I love you," he said, biting down on his wrist and bringing it to your lips.
"I love you, too," you whispered, taking his blood into your mouth, his free arm wrapping around your waist.
His wrist fell away, and he tilted his head, pressing his lips to yours. Then, he kissed a trail down your neck, stopping right over the vein.
You could feel the sharpness of his fangs, his mouth ghosting across your skin. His hands moved to your back, rubbing it soothingly. He was still hesitating.
Your hands gripped his chest, preparing for the sting of pain, the dark shroud of death that awaited you.
His fangs sank into you, and your body jerked. But the pain was fleeting, as the pleasure began to take over. His hands moved up and down your back, pulling you closer, his mouth working over the bite.
He was so gentle, and tender, the way he was holding you, caressing you. It made your heart swell with love, as the blood flowed from you.
He drank slowly, savoring the taste of your blood, listening to your heart beating slower, your breathing becoming shallower.
He could feel your life force slipping away, the blood no longer rushing through your veins. He felt an almost uncontrollable fear, and he had to fight the urge to let go.
You began to drift away, darkness creeping around the edge of your vision. Your eyes fluttered shut, your heart skipping a beat, before it came to a complete stop.
He pulled his mouth away, and pressed his forehead to yours, his tears falling on your face.
He let out a choked sob, the anguish of losing you was too much. He knew you would return, but in this place of nothingness, the void, it was all too real.
Your body was cuddled into his, your head resting in his shoulder, the wound on your neck still oozing blood.
He closed his eyes, and focused on the future, of all the things he would teach you. The places he would take you. The adventures you would have.
He was going to make the most of this eternity with you.
It didn't take long for your heart beat to return, or for you to stir. Your eyes opened slowly, blinking against the light.
"Eli?"
He pulled you closer, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
"Welcome back," he said, smiling.
You returned his smile, snuggling against him, and sighing.
"How do you feel?" He asked, his arms tightening around you.
"Hungry."
He laughed, stroking your hair. "I have just the thing for that,"
You nodded, sitting up, and looking at him. He looked tired, his eyes rimmed with red, his hair tousled.
"Have you been crying?" You asked, gently.
He nodded, looking a little embarrassed.
You kissed him softly, wrapping your arms around his neck.
"It's alright, my love. I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere," you whispered, pressing your forehead to his.
"Good," he said, letting out a shaky breath.
He held you, his hands stroking your back, your hair.
You lay there for a while, in the safety of his arms, before he pulled away, and smiled at you.
He reached for a blood bag he had gotten ready, and handed it to you. You tore into the bag, and drank deeply. You hadn't realized how thirsty you were, until you tasted the blood. It was sweet, and thick, and it was exactly what you needed.
He watched your eyes turn black, dark veins snaking underneath them, and smiled. You were beautiful.
When you were done, he tossed the bag aside, and wrapped his arms around you again.
"So, what happens now?" You asked, your eyes searching his.
"We live.”

Your foot bopped along with the beat. Earplugs in you sat sideways in one of the Victorian chairs. Legs over railing, scrolling on your phone. The Mikaelsons were out, meaning you had the house for yourself. You took the opportunity to do absolutely nothing and have some me time. Moving around the house with earplugs so that the music swallowed you whole. Now you were just sitting down, waiting for the Mikaelsons to come home. Your eye caught a glance of the first Mikaelson entering.
It was Kol. He nodded at you as you gave him a welcoming nod back. Freya entered next with Rebekah, chattering about something. Elijah and Klaus were the last Mikaelsons to enter. Elijah smiled upon seeing you. With vampire speed he rushed over to you.
Coming to hover over you, leaving a caring kiss on your forehead. You looked up at him, tapping at your lips. Elijah chuckling before kissing your lips upside down. You heard Klaus groan letting himself fall down in the sofa. You unplugged your earplugs, swinging your legs over the railing to the front.
“How was your day sweetheart?” – Elijah asked coming to sit on the railing with you. – “Enough about me, how was your day? Did it go well?” – you answered. Elijah took your hand, fiddling a bit with your fingers. Looking at him, you noticed some forgotten blood on his jaw.
Making your finger wet, you wiped it clean. – “You missed a spot dear.” – you told him. Elijah cupped your cheek. – “I’ll have you to clean me.” – he whispered to you. Klaus rolling with his eyes. – “Please lead this up to the bedroom.” – he scolded. Elijah and you both laughed. Klaus then got up, taking his brother by the arm.
“Come we have much to discuss.” – he said. You blew Elijah a kiss as he left with his brother. Putting in your earplugs again, you forgot what you were even mindlessly scrolling through. Video after video you were watching with little interest.
Swiping your finger up a few more times, the video’s flashed by. Till one video made you stop and watch. A girl’s voice speaking as you saw the camera getting pointed at a boy. “Hey guys can you watch my boyfriend for me.” – she said taking her leave. Her phone turned towards her boyfriend as he looked confused at the camera.
It made you laugh at how silly his expression was. – “What are you laughing about?” – Rebekah asked joining you in the open living room. You took out your earplugs, showing her the video. At first she furrowed her brows till she started laughing. She handed you back your phone. – “Do you think I should do it with Elijah?” – you questioned. Rebekah quirking her eyebrow up.
“He’d have no clue.” – she answered. – “Right!” – you called out. – “That would make it so funny!” – you told her. – “If you do make the video, send it to me.” – Rebekah suggested. – “So you can have leverage over him?” – you teased with a laugh. – “Then you should make one about Niklaus too.” – she joked. Rebekah’s phone rang as she got up, answering it. Speaking with her gave you stuff to think about. Getting more eager to do it with Elijah. You only had to wait for Elijah to finish his meeting with Klaus.
Waiting for Elijah felt like eternity so you decided to help out Freya in the meantime. Help her label some new bottles with ingredients for her spells and potions. The urge of filming the video growing by the minute. Freya noticed you were eager for something, but didn’t comment about it. Hearing the door open, it made you tense your muscles. From Freya’s witchy room, you saw a glimpse of Klaus leaving.
You quickly set the last bottles down. – “Sorry gotta run Freya!” – you called out, taking your leave. – “Thanks for the help Y/n!” – Freya shouted after you. You ran into the room where Elijah was. He looked surprised at you for a moment. – “Y/n, sweetheart.” – he called out. You walked up to him, placing your hands on his hips, getting on the tips of your toes for a kiss. Elijah happily kissed you back.
“Someone missed me.” – Elijah said with a smile. – “Didn’t you miss me?” – you asked curious, already knowing the answer. – “Immensely.”  - Elijah responded cupping your cheek. His comment made you scrunch your nose with a teasing smile. Elijah booped your nose making you flutter your face back. – “How about a drink?” – You suggested, tilting your head a bit. – “I can’t say no to you spoiling me.” – Elijah replied.
You went over to the bar, taking two glasses. Leaning over the counter, you grabbed for the bottle. – “Need a hand sweetheart?” – Elijah asked. – “No!” – you called out loud. He moved his hands up in defence, not arguing with you there. He sat down as you returned with his glass. You then went over to grab your glass from the counter. Pulling out your phone. You pretended to hold it against your ear as if you had a call.
Elijah furrowed his brows, wondering who you were calling. You then moved your phone down, pressing the record button. Returning to Elijah, you made sure it was recording from the front. Setting your glass down on a good position. – “Hey guys can you watch my boyfriend.” – you said, setting the phone against the glass for support.
Elijah’s gaze went from you, down to your phone. Staring confused right at the camera as you took a run for it. Elijah turned around. – “Y/n?” – he called out. He then looked back at the camera, feeling like someone was watching him. He stared awkwardly at it, feeling awkward to even sip his drink. Nervously, he moved his hand up to greet whoever was watching him.
His gaze glided awkwardly away from the camera, trying to see if you were returning. When you weren’t returning, he sighed deep. Tapping his fingers patiently together it felt awkward for him. Elijah suddenly moved closer to the camera. His face getting full on the camera. – “I don’t need watching.” – he said to your phone. You had returned seeing him do that. It made you laugh loud, making him turn his head in an instant. – “Y/n!” – he shouted.
Continuing to laugh, you ran over to your phone to collect it. Your face came on the camera as Elijah looked over your shoulder in the camera as well. – “Has he behaved?” – you asked teasingly at the camera. Elijah looked in shock at you. – “I have!” – he called out, making you laugh loud, stopping the video.

Tumblr media
Klaus
You'd call him Daddy, and not any other, unlike some of the rest of your mommies and daddies
Like there'd be no reason for needing to call him anything else
Except the couple of times you copied Kol by saying 'Nik'. Which ended in Kol almost getting smacked by Klaus if freya hadn't intervened during those times
He'd definitely spoil you, not caring about Elijah's protests on the matter
He shows you his hybrid eyes to calm you down from a nightmare or a crying fit
^works like magic every time
This beautiful daddy is protective of you like nobody's business
It might as well be his full time job
He'd be the most possessive of you, especially when you regress into basically a baby, not being able to pit together a coherent sentence and just want to snuggle.
^which he would happily comply because even though it may not seem it, he'd be one of the biggest cuddlers, his wolf side playing right into it even moreso.
Tumblr media
Elijah
You'd call him Daddy and sometimes when your tired or really regressed, call him Dada
But it's not an every day basis thing
In a very close 2nd place of how protective he is over you, to Klaus
To get you to go down for a nap, he'd walk around the abboiter's endless hallways while gently bouncing you in his arms until your snoozing peace and quietly
Would most likely buy and set up a baby monitor in your nursery to have even more reassurance of your safety even though his vamp hearing is way more reliable than the little machine. But none of the others say anything against it and let it be.
You'd sit with him in his study, coloring a sheet of paper with crayons, sat in his lap, as your Daddy reads through paperwork and boring adult vampire stuff
He'd be very soft with our that no one outside the family has seen or knows of. He'd sit with you in his bed or on the couch or in your nursery on the rocking chair and read you a story - mostly fairytales.
Paces kisses on the crown of your head
Tumblr media
Kol
You'd call him Dada and nothing else - he's Dada and will always stay that way to you.
EXCEPT
When kol acts childishy himself (as he often does), he seems more like a best friend than a caregiver to you in those times, so then you'd call him Koly
^the rest of them may or may not be waiting for the moment where it's clear he's also a little cause like c'mon- but that's a discussion for another time
Would definitely be the one to go all out while playing with you, whether that ne setting up massive race tracks all around the abboiter for hot weel cars or creating high pitch voices for your barbie dolls and stuffed animals
He'd blow raspberries on your stomach, sending you into a fit of screeching laughter
Would 100% be labeled as the 'fun daddy'
He'd be the most disappointed when Rebekah banned them from ever dressing you again. He himself thought his outfit choices were incredible.
Would give you smooches all over your face, making you burst out into gleeful laughter
Tumblr media
Rebekah
You'd call her Mama and Momma. Mama is used more, but you interchange it depending on your regressed state.
She'd treat you like a princess and almost spoils you as much as Klaus
She'd love buying you cute dresses and jewelry that's safe for you so you won't choke on it or hurt yourself.
She'd ban Elijah, Klaus, and Kol from ever dressing you after witnessing the horrendous outfits they put you in.
^ "this is a fashion nightmare what on earth were you thinking?!" Is a line said to all of them at different moments before she got them all together in a room and declared they're banned from dressing you any longer.
Would do your hair up in the cutest hairstyles, especially the ones with multiple braids
^it's calming for both you and her
She loves just laying with you on her bed. You snuggled into her closet and head nuzzled into her surprising warm vampire chest.
Suckling on her boobs before you're laid down for your bedtime or naps
Tumblr media
Freya
You'd call her Mommy and sometimes Momma when you're more regressed. But she's your Mommy through and through.
She loves holding you in her arms and gets a tad disappointed when she has to put you down
^she'd 100% buy one of those adult wraps to hold you against her body
Would cast a protective charm on you so nothing happens to hurt you.
Having Mommy and Mama days with her and Rebekah>>>> they'd be the best!
Freya's the only other one who can still dress you without Rebekah going all 'power mad' (Kol's wording) because she knows her older sister has got the fashion sense that their brothers don't contain.
She'd place Kisses all over your face in the morning after you'd just woken up
Would sway you in her arms and sometimes she doesn't even realize she's doing so

Summary: After spending an unproductive day at the Mikaelson compound, you pretend to be asleep so you can get Kol to carry you to bed.

You sighed, stretching your legs which ached after being in a position for a little too long. You had finished the novel in your hands in one sitting, even though the plot and the characters were disappointing. Safe to say, you were bored.
Before you met your boyfriend, Kol, about a year ago, you were quite content living alone, attending classes, completing assignments, and reading books. You had never realized when you became so used to him, his quips, his charming smile. You now couldn't spend a day without him, without finding everything around you worthless. He brought light and meaning to your days, making each moment valuable. He taught you how to live life with a different perspective. He effortlessly wove himself into your days, making them happier. That every day after a tiring day at work, you knew you had someone to come home to. And you couldn't help falling in love with him a little more with each passing day.
His dysfunctional family adored you, and you loved them back with all your heart. Life was happy. You were happy.
It was past midnight and he hadn't returned. You were alone at the compound. Rebekah, Freya and Hayley were at the plantation house with Hope, so for the past week, you were with the brothers.
With each passing moment, you grew more worried for them. Sure, they were some thousand-year-old invincible original vampires, but over the years, they made quite a few formidable enemies. Being a human, you never imagined the horrors of the supernatural world.
Lost in thought, you almost didn't hear the loud footsteps entering the house. By the way they hit the floor, you instantly knew it was Kol. You were quite observant, and despite not having the heightened senses of a vampire, you could use your own quite well.
"Now, now brother, that wouldn't be quite fair, would it?" You heard Klaus' thick accent. Kol cackled and Elijah mumbled something incoherent to which Kol doubled over laughing.
You quickly snuggled to the pillows, lying down and pulling your heap of blankets closer, closing your eyes and pretending to sleep, turning around slightly so that the boys would not be able to see the smile you were sure you would not be able to keep off your face.
As the footsteps grew louder, an argument between the younger brothers could be heard.
"Shhhhhh."
The whispers ceased and you could almost hear the smile forming on Elijah's face.
A chuckle.
A pat.
Footsteps retreated and one moved forward. You feel the couch dip at where your feet rested and Kol took them in his lap and rubbed them with his rough fingertips. His touch was warm, and with great effort you silenced the sigh escaping your lips.
He stood up and moved. He lifted you up in his arms, bridal style, discarding the blankets covering you. You fought off the smile threatening to form on your face as he carried you upstairs.
A door opened and closed.
Kol laid you on the plush bed and covered you with the silky duvet. You made no movements to get more comfortable. He pushed your hair out of your face and grabbed your ankles and pulled them down.
A few moments later, the door to your en-suite bathroom opened and closed.
You opened your eyes and grinned triumphantly, giddy that you fooled your boyfriend. When the door closed again, you felt the bed dip at your feet.
A silky, soothing voice you knew a bit too well spoke. "You can stop pretending now, darling."
You didn't open your eyes and carried on the act.
"I know you aren't asleep." You opened your eyes, unable to keep the pout of your face. You released a breath you didn't realize you had been holding.
Your eyes met with the gorgeous face of your lover. He had a goofy smile on his face. Your heart beated insanely fast and you whined. "How did you know?"
"I know you, love. You can't fall asleep without me. Your heartbeat gave it away."
You groaned, but you were secretly happy.
" If you wanted me to carry you to the bed, baby, you could've just asked."

The sacred soul
Kol Mikaelson x female character
When a young newly turned vampire seeks out the Mikaelson’s as it turns out she has a special connection to Kol
Warnings: Mentions of blood
Word count: 5620
Tumblr media
It was a middle of the night in the French quarters of New Orleans as I wanted around looking for a nice meal as i haven’t eaten in a while as I stumble into the compound of the infamous Mikaelson family as you looked around in the compound when a thick English accent was heard from the balcony which made you look up at the dark haired original vampire as he had a slight smirk on his face.
“Can I help you with anything darling?” He said with a continuing smirk on his face as you tried your best to suppress the veins under eyes that was clearly displaying your enormous hunger that you currently felt.
As he walked close to you, you could smell the blood running through his veins as he approached you and just started chuckling at you as the veins under eyes returned as you tried to restrain yourself from jumping teeth first on him to the best of your abilities, that was until he did something he was very soon gonna regret you thought to yourself, but then again he’s the original one out of you two, so you couldn’t really do much harm even if you wanted to.
“Aww is someone a little hungry? Want some of this?” Kol said as he proceeded to bite into his wrist as the blood started running down his arm as he proceeded to reach out the arm for you as you had your eyes glued onto it just long enough for you to almost run to him and start feeding as he pulled his arm back and started drying it away again as you simply looked at him with nothing but a huge blood lust as you wanted to rip his head off seeing how the concrete had small drops of blood on it from his arm as you nearly growled at him when you heard another more mature and sophisticated voice come from the other end of the balcony.
“Little brother, don’t be such a menace to the her, that is not how we treat a lady” He said as he lightly scolded his younger brother. It was another original vampire, he walked over to join his brother as he looked at me as you could smell the blood in veins as well.
“Darling, I apologize for my brother’s behavior, my names Elijah and this is Kol how long have you been a vampire?” Elijah asked sensing your hunger as he rolled up the sleeve on his left arm.
“A few weeks, but something doesn’t feel right. I don’t know what’s happening to me” you answered the slightly older vampire as he was about to bite his wrist when Kol stopped him as he went about to bite his own wrist again when Elijah stopped him as he heard something as the demeanor in his face changed.
“Kol, wait.” He said turning his attention to his younger brother.
“What is your name, darling?” Elijah asked moving his gaze to the young girl.
“My name is Skylar” you said looking at Elijah and Kol trying to control your lust for hunger.
“Kol, brother. Get her inside, the night-walkers are still out here” Elijah said ever so protective as he guided you over to Kol who took you into his arms as he walked you inside.
“What is all this noise about? We’re someone trying to get some rest here” Klaus said as he emerged from his room as well and came walking towards you and Kol as you leaned into him more when you made eye contact with Klaus. You didn’t know why, but you were a bit intimidated by Klaus.
“I see you got a new little friend little brother, what’s your name love?” Klaus asked smiling as Kol held you closer to him as he looked at his brother.
“Her name is Skylar, now if you will excuse us Nik, we have some business to attend to” Kol said taking your hand walking past his brother with you as he led you up to his room where we prepared his wrist and bit himself once again.
“Here, drink” he said as he reached his wrist as you looked at him making sure he wasn’t teasing you this time again as you took it and slightly took his wrist up to your mouth as you started drinking from him like you haven’t had a single drop in weeks which to be honest wasn’t exactly a lie either.
At first Kol didn’t feel much and just let you full fill your thirst until he started feeling a bit squishy and tried to take his away his arm back when you growled at him grabbing onto his wrist as you kept drinking from him.
“Skylar, I think this is enough. Why don’t you take a break” He suggested when Elijah came walking by coincidentally and happened to hear his brother’s desperation as he hurries into his rescue and practically rips you away from Kol and holding you firmly as Kol sits down on a chair before he becomes too squishy from the blood loss as you calmed down again as you look at Kol.
“I’m so sorry Kol. I never meant to hurt you” you said as your emotions were now on overdrive as Elijah let go off you and Kol approached you.
“Darling, you didn’t hurt me. You have my word” Kol said as he tried to reassure you as he took you into his arms and politely asked Elijah to leave his room as he thanked him.
Kol lifted you over to the bed and placed you down on it gently as you gave him gently kisses on his wrist as you proceeded with laying your head on his chest as he had an arm around you as you dozed off in his embrace for now.
“What’s with Kol’s new little friend?” Klaus asked as he saw Elijah walk out from their younger brother’s room, closing the door quietly behind him.
“It’s nothing of your concern Niklaus, perhaps your focus would be better placed with your daughter than lurking around in our brother’s business.” Elijah explained to other younger brother as Klaus just smiled and took his hands up in defense.
“Well brother, it’s quite hard to put your focus elsewhere when she can be bloody heard all over the compound” Klaus said as Elijah just shook his head as they parted ways and went into their respective rooms again as peace yet fell over the Mikaelson compound again.
The next morning, sun light was shining brightly through the curtains of Kol’s room as he slowly woke up and gained his sense and looked to his right as he saw you laying peacefully asleep next to him. He removed a strand of hair from your face as he couldn’t bare to wake you.
As Kol lay there, watching you sleep, he couldn't help but feel a strange sense of protectiveness. Despite his mischievous nature, something about you had stirred an emotion he hadn't felt in centuries. He gently slid out of the bed, careful not to disturb your slumber, and quietly left the room.
Downstairs, Klaus was already up, pacing the living room with a brooding look. He glanced up as Kol descended the staircase. "Ah, the young lover boy awakens. How is our guest?" Klaus's tone was mocking, but there was a hint of curiosity.
Kol rolled his eyes. "She's fine, Nik. Just a bit overwhelmed. New vampires often are."
Elijah, ever the peacemaker, entered the room with a book in hand. "Kol, we need to ensure she adjusts properly. Her thirst was almost uncontrollable last night."
Kol nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. "I know, Elijah. I'll take care of her. She needs guidance."
Klaus smirked, leaning against the doorway. "Guidance? Or are you just enjoying playing the hero for a pretty girl?"
Kol shot him a warning look. "It's not like that, Nik. She needs our help."
“How can we be sure she is who she claims to be?” Klaus asked looking at his brothers with a smug smile.
“Now what’s that supposed to mean? Of course she is who says, Nik don’t be ridiculous” Kol said annoyed by his brother’s accusations.
"Kol, brother, how is the girl?" Elijah asked, gesturing for Klaus to be quiet, closing his book and giving his full attention to his brother.
"Resting. She was absolutely ravenous last night," Kol replied, a hint of concern in his voice. "I haven't seen such hunger in a newborn in a long time. It's almost as if she's been neglected."
Elijah nodded thoughtfully. "It's not uncommon for newly turned vampires to struggle with controlling their hunger. But there’s something more to her, isn’t there? Did she mention who turned her?"
Kol shook his head. "No, she didn’t say much about her past. Just that she's been a vampire for a few weeks. She seems... different, Elijah. There's a fire in her eyes, a strength that's unusual for someone so new to this life."
Elijah leaned back against the wall considering Kol's words. "We'll have to keep an eye on her. If she's truly as unique as you say, she could either be a great ally or a dangerous threat.” Elijah added to the conversation.
“May I inquire with something, you see while you were busy playing into her tricks and games, I did some digging with a little help from our dear sister Rebekah” Klaus started as Elijah sighed loudly at his brother.
“Niklaus….” Elijah said as Klaus continued to speak his mind.
“Brothers, allow me. She was sent here by the very wolf boy from Mystic Falls, who seeks revenge against me and this is his way of getting under my skin, our skin” Klaus said as Elijah considered his words carefully as whereas Kol wasn’t buying any of it.
“Come on, Elijah, you saw her when she came in here last night. You really think she’s on some revenge mission carrying out some big plan set by Tyler Lockwood? She’s not like that” Kol asked his older brother in disbelief as Klaus just started laughing as Kol and Elijah looked at him.
“You’ve known the girl for less than a day and already you put your faith in her” Klaus said his distrust in Skylar crystal clear.
“Niklaus, Kol is right. I don’t believe she is our enemy. For now, we should focus on helping her adjust to her new reality." Elijah added in.
Kol looked at his brother and nodded in agreement, but his thoughts were still with you, sleeping peacefully in his bed. He couldn’t shake the feeling that you were destined to be a part of their lives, for better or worse.
You woke up to the soft morning light filtering through the curtains, feeling more rested than you had in days. As you slowly opened your eyes, you realized you were alone in Kol’s room. The events of the previous night came rushing back, and you felt a pang of guilt for having lost control.
Before you could dwell on it, the door creaked open, and Kol stepped in, carrying a tray with a glass of blood. He smiled warmly when he saw you awake.
"Good morning. I brought you something to help with the hunger," he said, placing the tray on the bedside table.
"Thank you," you murmured, taking the glass and sipping it gratefully. The blood was fresh, and you could feel your strength returning with each sip.
Kol sat down on the edge of the bed, watching you intently. "How are you feeling, love?"
"Better," you admitted, setting the empty glass back on the tray. "I'm sorry about last night, Kol. I didn’t mean to—"
He held up a hand to stop you. "There's no need to apologize, darling. It's only natural for a newborn to struggle with their hunger. We'll help you learn to control it."
You nodded, feeling a wave of relief wash over you. For the first time since you had turned, you felt like you might actually have a chance at surviving this new life.
"Thank you, Kol." you said sincerely.
He smiled, reaching out to gently tuck a stray lock of hair behind your ear. "You're one of us now. We'll look after you."
As you looked into his eyes, you felt a flicker of hope. Maybe, just maybe, you had found a place where you belonged.
---
Over the next few days, Kol and his brothers worked tirelessly to help you adjust. You spent hours with Elijah, who taught you the history and intricacies of vampire lore, instilling in you the importance of control and discretion. Klaus, despite his initial skepticism, offered you tips on navigating the supernatural world, his tough love approach masked by a surprising patience when you struggled.
Kol, however, was your anchor. He guided you through the physical aspects of your transformation, teaching you to hone your heightened senses and control your newfound strength. The bond between you grew stronger with each passing day, his protectiveness and genuine care a constant reassurance.
One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting the mansion in a warm, golden glow, Kol suggested a walk through the nearby woods. You hesitated, the memory of your last uncontrollable hunger still fresh in your mind, but his gentle insistence won you over.
As you strolled through the forest, the sounds of nature heightened in your ears, Kol spoke softly, his voice a soothing presence. "You're doing exceptionally well, you know. Far better than I expected."
You smiled, a mix of pride and humility in your expression. "I couldn't have done it without you. All of you."
He stopped, turning to face you, his eyes searching yours. "There's something special about you. I felt it the moment I saw you. It's not just your strength, but your spirit. You're meant for something greater."
Before you could respond, a rustling in the bushes drew your attention. Kol's posture shifted instantly, his body tense and alert. A figure emerged from the shadows, a tall man with an air of authority and a hint of menace in his gaze.
"Ah, Kol Mikaelson. It's been a long time," the man said, his voice smooth yet chilling.
Kol's eyes narrowed, his protective instincts flaring. "Lucien. What are you doing here?"
Lucien's gaze shifted to you, a predatory smile playing on his lips. "I heard about the new addition to your little family. Thought I'd come and see for myself."
You felt a shiver run down your spine as Lucien's eyes bore into you. Kol stepped in front of you, his stance defensive. "Stay away from her, Lucien."
Lucien chuckled, a low, sinister sound. "Relax, Kol. I'm not here to cause trouble. Just curious about what makes her so special."
Kol's jaw tightened. "Curiosity killed the cat, Lucien. Remember that."
Lucien raised his hands in mock surrender. "Alright, alright. No need to get testy. I'll be on my way. But remember, Kol, there's more at play here than you realize. Keep a close eye on your new friend."
With that, Lucien melted back into the shadows, leaving an uneasy silence in his wake. Kol turned to you, his expression a mixture of concern and determination. "We need to be careful. Lucien is dangerous, and if he's interested in you, it means something is brewing."
You nodded, your heart pounding. "What do we do?"
Kol took your hand, his grip firm and reassuring. "We stick together. No matter what."
As you walked back to the compound, you couldn't shake the feeling that your presence had stirred something in the supernatural world, something that could change everything.
As you entered the compound you were greeted by Klaus who was talking to Marcel and Davina, as Kol’s look locked on the young witch Davina, who also happened to be a former lover of his that he hadn’t seen in a while.
However your presence drew attention to Klaus as he turned to face the two of you as Kol had to tell him about your meet with Lucien, but he couldn’t get his eyes of Davina for some reason when Klaus finally managed to snap him out of his so called trance.
Skylar looked up at Kol as if she could feel the deep and intense connection between them when she suddenly this weird surge of energy going through almost as a short Timelapse of Kol and Devina’s relationship played in front of her eyes while Kol was holding her hand as she became disconnected from the world around her, completely oblivious to the conversation going on between Klaus, Kol, Devina and Marcel.
When Devina noticed something was off about Skylar and said Kol’s name to get him to look at her as Klaus became interested as well despite his suspicions when you came back to reality and your legs gave out beneath you as Kol caught you before you hit the ground.
“Elijah, Freya!” Klaus yelled as they soon were rushing down alarmed when Elijah saw Skylar on the ground in Kol’s arms.
"Kol, what happened?" Elijah's voice was calm but laced with urgency as he knelt beside you.
Kol shook his head, his eyes wide with worry. "I'm not sure. We were just talking, and then she had some sort of vision or... I don't know, Elijah. One moment she was fine, and the next..."
Freya joined them, her expression equally concerned. She placed her hand on your forehead, closing her eyes as she concentrated. "There's a powerful energy around her. Something ancient and potent. It's like she's tapped into some kind of... magical conduit."
Kol, his impatience evident, demanded, "What does that mean for her? Is she in danger?"
Freya's eyes opened, meeting Kol's with a mixture of confusion and certainty. "Not immediate danger, but we need to understand what just happened. She's linked to something or someone—perhaps even to the ancestral magic of New Orleans itself."
Marcel, who had been observing silently, spoke up. "Davina, you might be able to help. You have a strong connection to the magic here."
Davina nodded, stepping closer. She extended her hand towards you, her eyes filled with a determined resolve. "I'll see what I can do."
As Davina began to chant softly, you felt a warmth spreading through your body. The fragmented images that had overwhelmed you earlier started to coalesce into something more coherent. You saw flashes of Kol and Davina's past, their love and their pain, intertwined with glimpses of your own future—a future fraught with challenges but also brimming with potential.
The vision ended as abruptly as it began, leaving you gasping for breath.
Kol's grip on your hand tightened, grounding you as you came back to reality. "Skylar, what did you see?"
"Kol," you began, your voice trembling slightly. You took a deep breath, your voice shaky but resolute. "I saw your past with Davina,”
"I don't know what just happened, but I felt everything. Your pain, your love, your loss. It was like I was there, living it all with you." You continued.
Kol nodded, his expression softening. "I felt it too, Skylar. And it only confirms what I've known all along. You are special, more than any of us realized."
Freya cleared her throat, drawing everyone's attention. “If these visions are true, we need to prepare. Lucien’s appearance might be more than just a coincidence.”
Klaus nodded, his eyes steely with determination. “Then we will prepare. We need to fortify our alliances and understand Skylar’s connection to this magic.”
Kol helped you to your feet, his eyes never leaving yours. “Whatever happens, we’ll face it together.” He said as you leaned into him and he held you close.
“Skylar, if you will allow me. I can perform a spell to maybe tap into whatever it is you seem to hold” Freya suggested. She looked at up at Kol as she hesitated a bit.
Elijah exchanged a worried glance with Klaus. “This connection between you and Kol is the key. We need to explore it further, but with care. Skylar’s well-being is our top priority.”
Freya moved closer to Skylar, her voice gentle. “I promise, we’ll take it slow. But we need to uncover the truth. For all our sakes.”
Kol’s eyes softened as he looked at Skylar, his hand brushing a strand of hair from her face. “We’ll get through this together, Skylar. You’re not alone.”
Skylar nodded, feeling a renewed sense of determination as Kol and Freya led them into her study soon followed by the curious eyes of Elijah and Klaus.
As they entered the room they were faced with a protective circle that Freya created and inside the circle Skylar and Kol sat on their knees across from each other.
Skylar, still shaken from the vision, looked at Kol with a mixture of gratitude and uncertainty. She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself as she turned to face Kol as she placed her hand on the side of his cheek.
“Trust me Kol” she said as they both closed their eyes as she showed Kol what exactly she experienced as Elijah and Freya shared a confused glance with each other as Klaus’ distrust in Skylar came forward.
“Now what is this? Are we sure we can trust her?” Klaus asked in suspiciousness over Skylar as Elijah led him out of the room.
“Niklaus, take it easy. She came to us for a reason. She came to Kol for a reason” Elijah said calmly trying to reason with Klaus who didn’t seem to buy any of it.
“She’s currently infiltrating Kol’s mind, how can we be sure she wasn’t sent by someone?” Klaus said as Elijah went quiet as they looked back into the room at Skylar and Kol as Kol grabbed Skylar’s other hand as Skylar started bleeding from her nose as Elijah ignored Klaus’ question for now and went back into the room looking concerned at Freya.
“Freya what’s happening?” He asked looking at sister concern etched on his face and Freya, usually composed and knowledgeable, was at a loss. The unexpected nosebleed from Skylar had thrown everyone off balance. “I… I don’t know,” she admitted, her brow furrowed in worry. “This isn’t like any magic I’ve encountered before. It’s as if…” She trailed off, uncertain how to articulate her thoughts.
As tension mounted in the room, Klaus’s suspicion hung heavy like a thundercloud. His distrust of Skylar’s intentions was palpable, casting a shadow over the fragile peace that had momentarily settled among them.
“Elijah, this is madness,” Klaus exclaimed, his voice tinged with a blend of anger and concern. “We can’t afford to be naive. Lucien’s cunning knows no bounds. We must consider every possibility.”
Elijah, ever the diplomat, sought to diffuse the situation before it escalated further.
“Quiet, Niklaus” Elijah said as Klaus listened to him and remained silent for now.
“Freya, is there you can do?” Elijah asked as Klaus’ impatience and suspicion clear as he paced the room, his eyes flicking between Skylar and Kol with distrust.
Freya hurried to Skylar’s side, placing a hand on her shoulder. “I… I’m not sure what’s happening,” she admitted, her brow furrowing in concentration. “Their connection is stronger than I anticipated.”
Elijah’s gaze hardened as he assessed the situation. “Kol,” he called out firmly, his voice cutting through the room. “Release her. Now.”
But Kol remained unresponsive, his grip on Skylar tightening. His expression was a mix of protectiveness and confusion, as if caught between worlds. Blood continued to trickle from Skylar’s nose, a sign of the strain on her fragile form.
“Enough, Kol!” Elijah’s tone grew urgent. “You’re endangering her!”
Freya’s hands moved deftly, weaving a spell of separation. “I’m trying to break their connection,” she murmured, her voice strained with effort. “But it’s not working.”
Klaus, unable to contain his anxiety, approached cautiously. “What did she show you, Kol?” His voice softened slightly, betraying his concern for his brother’s well-being amidst his suspicion of Skylar.
Skylar’s breathing grew shallow, her face pale as she struggled against the overwhelming force of the connection. Finally, with a surge of power, Freya managed to sever the link. Kol staggered back, releasing Skylar who collapsed into Elijah’s arms, unconscious and drained.
As Elijah tended to Skylar, checking her vitals, he scooped her up and took her to Kol’s room placing her down on the bed, feeding her blood from his wrist.
In study Klaus turned to Kol with a mixture of relief and lingering distrust. “What did you see?” he demanded, his voice tinged with urgency.
Kol rubbed his temples wearily, his eyes haunted by what he had witnessed. “Darkness,” he murmured. “A darkness that’s hunting her, consuming her.”
Freya’s brow furrowed as he processed Kol’s words. “Lucien,” he concluded grimly. “He’s behind this.”
Klaus clenched his fists, his resolve hardening. “Then we find him,” he declared, his voice resonating with authority. “Before he harms anyone else.”
Kol, still shaken, glanced at Freya. "It's more than just Lucien," he whispered, his voice barely audible. "There's something ancient, something primordial tied to her. It's like she's a beacon, drawing it towards her."
Freya, her face pale with worry, nodded. "We need to find a way to protect her. Whatever this darkness is, it seems relentless."
Elijah returned to the study, his expression grave. "She’s stable for now, but whatever Kol saw, it’s taking a toll on her. We need more information if we’re to keep her safe."
Klaus paced the room, frustration evident in his every step. "This is exactly what Lucien wants. To divide us, to weaken us. We need to be proactive. We can’t wait for him to make his next move."
Freya interjected, "Kol, can you recall anything specific about the darkness? Any clues that might help us understand it better?"
Kol closed his eyes, struggling to piece together the fragments of his vision. "There were symbols... ancient runes. And a voice. It spoke of an awakening, of reclaiming what was lost."
Freya's eyes widened. "Runes? That might be the key. If we can decipher them, we might understand what we’re dealing with."
Klaus nodded, his determination unwavering. "Then we start there. Freya, see what you can find about these runes. Elijah and I will tighten security around the compound. No one comes or goes without our knowledge."
Kol looked at his siblings, gratitude and resolve in his eyes. "Thank you. All of you. Skylar means more to me than I can express. We can’t let this darkness consume her."
Freya placed a reassuring hand on Kol’s shoulder. "We won’t. We’ll figure this out together."
As the family dispersed to their tasks, Kol went up to his room and stayed by Skylar’s side, holding her hand and whispering promises of protection and love as Skylar stirred slightly in her sleep, her face contorting as if in the throes of a nightmare. Kol tightened his grip on her hand, his heart aching at her distress. He whispered soothing words, hoping to reach her through the darkness.
Meanwhile, Freya dove into her research, poring over ancient texts and tomes that lined the shelves of her study. She meticulously searched for anything resembling the runes Kol had described.
As night fell, Freya’s patience was rewarded. She found a reference to the runes Kol had mentioned. Her fingers traced the symbols on the aged parchment, her breath catching as she realized their significance.
Freya rushed to find her brothers, bursting into the courtyard with the ancient text in hand. “I found something,” she announced, her voice filled with urgency. “These runes are tied to an old prophecy. They speak of an ancient force, one that predates even our kind. It’s said to be drawn to powerful beings, using them to anchor itself in our world.”
Elijah frowned. “And Skylar is the anchor?”
Freya nodded. “It seems so. The darkness Kol saw isn’t just after her; it’s trying to use her to break through into our realm.”
Klaus’s eyes darkened with resolve. “Then we need to sever that connection. How do we stop this prophecy from coming true?”
Freya hesitated. “There’s a ritual, but it’s risky. It requires immense power and perfect execution. If we fail, it could kill her.”
Kol, who had joined them upon hearing Freya’s discovery, stepped forward. “We don’t have a choice. We’ll do whatever it takes to save her. What do we need for the ritual?”
Freya listed the ingredients and artifacts required, each item more obscure and dangerous to obtain than the last. “We’ll need to gather these quickly. The longer Skylar remains connected to this force, the stronger it becomes.”
Klaus, always the strategist, quickly devised a plan. “Elijah, you and Kol focus on obtaining the artifacts. Freya and I will work on the ritual preparation. We move swiftly and carefully. No mistakes.”
As the family united in their mission, the air around them buzzed with a sense of urgency and determination. They knew the road ahead was fraught with danger, but their bond and love for Skylar fueled their resolve.
Kol returned to Skylar’s side, determination etched into his features. He brushed a strand of hair from her face, whispering, “Hold on, love. We’ll bring you back from this. I promise.” As he kissed her forehead.
As Kol sat by Skylar’s side, the rest of the family moved with precision, each member driven by the collective resolve to save her. Freya and Klaus prepared the ritual space, gathering ancient texts and carefully setting the necessary artifacts. Their movements were synchronized, a testament to their years of working together against supernatural threats.
Elijah and Kol embarked on their mission to obtain the rare ingredients required for the ritual. Their journey took them through the darkest corners of New Orleans, from secretive witches to ancient cemeteries, each step bringing them closer to the goal but also closer to danger. Kol’s mind was only half-focused on their task; the other half was with Skylar, hoping she could hold on just a little longer.
Back at the compound, Skylar’s condition worsened. Her breaths came in shallow gasps, her body trembling as the ancient force continued to drain her. As Freya performed another small but quick spell to make her stronger as Klaus watched over her despite his initial doubts with a mixture of frustration and helplessness and despite his fears, he trusted in Freya’s ability to pull through. When Klaus decided to give Elijah a call updating them on Skylar’s condition.
Elijah answered his phone, the urgency in Klaus’s voice sending a shiver down his spine. “Niklaus, we’re making progress, but we need more time. Just hold on.”
“Hurry,” Klaus urged. “She doesn’t have much longer.”
Elijah hung up, his resolve hardening. “Kol, we need to move faster. Skylar’s deteriorating.”
Kol nodded, his determination renewed. “I know a witch who might have the final ingredient we need. Follow me.”
As they raced through the shadowed streets, Kol led Elijah to an old, decrepit house on the outskirts of the city. The air was thick with the scent of herbs and old magic. They knocked on the door, and an elderly witch named Agnes answered, her eyes narrowing with suspicion.
“We need your help,” Kol pleaded, explaining their dire situation.
Agnes hesitated, but seeing the desperation in their eyes, she relented. “Very well, but this magic is ancient and unpredictable. Use it wisely.”
Back at the compound, Freya and Klaus completed their preparations, the ritual space glowing with a soft, ethereal light. Skylar’s condition had stabilized slightly, thanks to Freya’s temporary spell, but it was clear they were running out of time.
Elijah and Kol burst through the door, carrying the final ingredient. “We got it,” Elijah announced, handing the rare herb to Freya.
Freya nodded, quickly incorporating the final piece into the ritual setup. “Take positions. This will require all of our strength and we only have one chance to do this.”
Klaus, Elijah, Kol, and Freya formed a circle around Skylar, holding each others hands, so that she can channel their power for the ritual. Freya began to chant, her voice resonating with power as the room filled with a blinding light.
Skylar’s body convulsed as the ancient force within her fought back, resisting the ritual’s power, Kol's heart breaking at her pain.
The ritual intensified, the light growing brighter and the air vibrating with energy. Freya’s chanting grew louder, her voice merging with the echoes of ancient magic. The symbols on the artifacts glowed, pulsating with a rhythm that matched Skylar’s heartbeat.
Suddenly, a dark shadow erupted from Skylar’s body, writhing and twisting as it fought to break free. Freya’s voice wavered, but she held firm, directing the power of the ritual towards the shadow. Klaus, Elijah, and Kol poured their strength into the circle, their combined will forcing the darkness back.
With a final, piercing scream, the shadow dissipated, dissolving into the air like mist. Skylar’s body went limp, her breathing shallow but steady. The light in the room faded, leaving the Mikaelsons standing in a quiet, dimly lit space.
Freya collapsed into Elijah's arms, exhausted but relieved. “It’s done. The connection is severed.”
Kol rushed to Skylar’s side, cradling her in his arms. “Skylar, can you hear me?” he whispered, his voice choked with emotion.
Skylar’s eyes fluttered open, her gaze unfocused but alive. “Kol…” she murmured weakly, a faint smile playing on her lips.
Klaus, Elijah, and Freya gathered around them, the weight of their victory settling over them. “We did it,” Klaus said, his voice filled with both relief and determination. “But this is just the beginning. We need to stay vigilant. Lucien won’t stop here.”
Freya nodded, her expression serious. “We’ll keep her safe. Whatever it takes.”
Elijah placed a reassuring hand on Kol’s shoulder. “She’s strong, Kol. And so are we. We’ll face whatever comes next together.”
Kol held Skylar close, his heart swelling with love and gratitude. “Thank you,” he whispered, looking at his family with newfound hope. “Thank you for saving her.”
As the Mikaelsons stood united, a sense of peace settled over them. They knew the road ahead would be fraught with challenges, but they also knew that together, they could overcome anything. Skylar’s life, their family’s bond, and their resolve to protect each other were the guiding lights that would lead them through the darkness.

𝕶𝖔𝖑 𝕸𝖎𝖐𝖆𝖊𝖑𝖘𝖔𝖓
Number 12, we've hit the afternoon now
“Kol” you whine, trying to ignore the gentle tugs to your foot. “Let me sleep, five more minutes.” Head turned away and eyes squeezed shut to avoid the invading morning light, your please are completely ignored by your  boyfriend. In fact, he was getting fed of of your shit, have asked for ‘five more minutes’ long enough to get you an hour.
“No can do darling, your coming with me” his smile is teasing though his words are menacing, hoisting you up into his arms and forcefully peeling the blankets off of you. With a halfhearted throw the quilt lies discarded and half on the floor. Not that he cares.
You resign your fight and just let him carry you, too much effort to argue this early (though its actually closer to afternoon now) in the morning. In your disgruntled state you hardly notice the sweet smell of pancakes when you’re escorted down the stairs of your small home. “Kol did you make breakfast?” you’re eyes flick up to meet his”
“Oh now you’re opening your eyes” he laughs, shaking his head in joking disapproval and little ‘tut tut’s’  leaving his mouth.
“You knew what you were up for when you got with me” you shrug, beginning to wriggle and writhe out of his arms and try to stand on your own two feet. A pointless act, Kol would never drop you, and by the time your act was semi-successful he had plopped you down in your seat by the kitchen side anyway.
“Kol did you really?” you look at him, eyes a little watery.
“Yeah yeah,” he rolls his eyes, pretending not to like the fuss you were giving him. You see right through him though. You always do. “Just eat” he passes you a fork and sits on the other side of the island counter to eat it with you. A giant stack of pancakes slathered in fruit and syrup.
“Any special occasion?”
“No, just thought I’d do something nice”

[1] First meeting
Magic has existed in New Orleans for as long as anyone can remember. The prevalence of voodoo-- NOLA's most giant "tourist trap"-- originated in 1791 with enslaved West Africans who moved to Louisiana to grow a community for as many free people of color. That spirit meant that many of its inhabitants descended from that original society or were drawn here for its magical properties. Your family was one of the latter, a bunch of witches seeking solace in a place that nurtured it. Except with magic came strife, and eventually, other creatures came knocking at the door. Enter the Mikaelsons, New Orlean's resident vampire family that was always at the center of whatever drama was happening. Right now, something involving all those magically oriented.
You made it a point to stay clear of the fight. Not because you didn't care– you did– but because it wasn't your fight to be had. That's how you stayed alive in this neighborhood; you knew where to stick your nose and when to stay clear. Besides, all the commotion with one of the Harvest girls (Cassie, you believe her name was) and the witch's distaste of vampires meant tensions were high. You could help the community from the background anyway; you didn't need to make yourself known.
At least, that's what you hoped. But things rarely turned out how you wanted, and this was one of those times. Walking through the back streets of NOLA was never an excellent idea, but it was shorter, and you just wanted to get to the metaphysical supply store before it closed. You needed more laurel leaves to create protection charms around your house, especially with the uptake in strife in the recent year.
Which is how you came upon a witch killing three vampires in the alley.
You wanted to turn on your heel and leave, but the witch noticed you before you could. You didn't recognize him, so you were unsure what coven he belonged to. He was tall enough to probably tower over you, with golden curly hair and a jaw sharp enough to cut your fingers if you touched it. He was unbelievably handsome, and you hated that it caught your breath.
"You shouldn't be here, luv," he crooned, his English accent thick. He sauntered down the alley, coming up to you with narrowed eyes.
"I don't recognize you," you countered, shifting your weight as you crossed your arms. It's best not to let him know that you're flustered.
"New in town," he smiled, a cocky grin that told you that he absolutely knew the effect he had on women. It left a bad taste in your mouth. "New Orleans is a big city; I'm surprised you would know everyone."
"I know witches," you said, peering up at him.
"Ah, are you a magical thing yourself?"
"What do you think?" You arched a brow. He stepped closer, reaching up to twirl a piece of your hair around his finger. You recoiled slightly but didn't pull back. Never show fear; that's one thing this town taught you.
"I think you're a pretty young thing," he hummed. "I'm Kol." He peered at you as if waiting for you to offer your name. You didn't.
"Not interested," you pulled back from him, letting the hair he had touched fall back in front of your face. He stepped back into your space.
"I don't know, darling," he smiled, leaning closer so his breath fanned your face. It was minty like he had just had an Altoid. "I think you're interested." You hated admitting that this tall, handsome stranger (such a cliche) was right. And you really hated that if you leaned up slightly, you could feel the warmth from his lips. He stepped back, though, hands in his pockets. The same hands that had used magic to wrangle the undead life of the vampires behind him. You took that as a sign to start to leave, walking backward before turning on your heel and ignoring the gaze of the witch behind you.
"Never got your name!" He chimed. You smiled to yourself.
"Figure it out yourself."
[2] Cemetery watch
Disgruntled. That's how you felt. Chaos had grown over the past weeks, but you didn't see Kol again. A sliver of disappointment, as you did find him cute, but also a relief. You know enough flirtatious bastards to not want to add more to your life.
You weren't thinking about him today, though. You were thinking about your grandmother, who lived in the cemetery right outside your block. A popular cemetery for Wiccan rituals, it made sense for your grandma (the high priestess of your family) to be buried there with heavy praise.
You were laying a combination of roses, lavender, and rosemary for protection when the hair on your neck stood up. Feeling a presence, you soon turn around, making eye contact with the stranger who approached you.
Definitely not a witch; his aura was too dark for that. He was tall, with tousled brown hair and eyes that lingered on you for far too long. He was cute, though, even if he was dangerous.
"Hello darling," he purrs, stalking closer.
"Can I help you?" You sigh, crossing your arms as you peer at him with suspicion. He wears a cocky smile and a look that tells you he would love to have a taste.
"Don't remember me? I'm hurt," he puts a hand on his chest, feigning pain. You look at him closely, but the only recognition is in the pet name. Darling. Not many people called you darling.
"Kol," you said. "You're shorter." His face had a hint of shock before settling into amusement.
"That was uncalled for," he laughed, walking closer to you. In closer proximity, you could see that he was, in fact, very handsome, and he was definitely aware of that.
"I'm reiterating my previous question, can I help you?"
"When my family sent me on this mission to track down the 'wisest witch in the quarter,' I was not expecting you," he looked down at you with gold-flecked eyes. "The beautiful girl who wouldn't give me her name. Except now I know it's Y/N."
"I thought you were a witch," you took a hesitant step back, trying to create space.
"Temporarily," he sighed. "Now I'm back in my original form of vampire." The way he said it gave you pause, as if he was resigned to the fact but not happy about it. You could relate. If you lost your magic, you would be devastated.
"You said something about your family?" you coughed, changing the subject.
"There's someone working against them, and we would prefer if they don't kill us," Kol shoved his hands in his pockets, looking up at the clouds above. "People tend to hate us, Mikaelsons."
"You're a Mikaelson?" you hissed. It was because of the Mikaelsons your home was in constant disaster. "Why should I help you? Any of you?"
"For the most part, we don't want to cause trouble. It just tends to find us. Helping eliminate a threat means fewer problems in the quarter," Kol sighed, stepping closer. His fingers brushed your cheek, delicate as if touching the grass in a meadow. "Also, you'd get to spend time with me."
"Why would I want to spend time with you?" you breathed, voice wavering slightly. Curse your damn hormones for being swayed by a vampire of all creatures. His thumb came under your chin, allowing him to bring your face closer to his. Kol smelled like fresh snow and evergreens, and you knew that if he leaned a little bit closer, you wouldn't stop him. In the process, likely offend the ghost of your grandmother who was probably rolling her eyes at you right now. Before you could offend all the ancestors with your choices, Kol stepped back, resuming his cocky grin and leaving your breath lodged in your throat. Without a second thought of the implications, you made your decision.
"Fine, I'll help you."
[3] Late night spell-casting
Late nights in the Mikaelson compound meant one thing. Coffee, and lots of it.
You made a deal with the Mikaelsons after you agreed to help them that in exchange for your time, they had to buy you cafe drinks whenever you liked it. Elijah was the most taken aback, but Kol chuckled as if he found you amusing. Still, they found it a small price, not expecting how much you valued your drinks. Most nights, it was coffee, sometimes tea, or even hot cocoa. Quite honestly, you just liked having the power to make them run around.
You sat at one of their many couches, a book of shadows in your lap and a notepad in your hands as you made quick notes about possible spells that could combat the evil at hand. A couple of ideas swam in your head, but you wanted to exhaust your options before risking anyone else's life with a botched spell. Still, you had been at it for hours and started getting sleepy. You yawned, feeling your eyes close slightly. Thankfully, footsteps alerting you to the presence of one of the originals had you sitting up and shaking off your fatigue. Unfortunately, that original was Kol with your coffee order.
Kol was precisely what you thought he would be. Flirtatious, cocky, impulsive, and too attractive for his own good. You hated when murderers were cute; it made life confusing. There were moments, though, when the two of you were performing recon or pouring over spell books that you saw a side of him that only showed when his guard wasn't up. He was calmer, more academic, and a lot more unsure of himself. The only thing you hated about seeing that side is it made you like him more.
"How's my witchling doing?" he chimed, dropping off your coffee and settling beside you on the couch. You told him that being called darling felt ridiculous, so instead, he found a new nickname, which was even worse.
"The usual, I suppose," you yawned again, leaning your head against the back of the couch.
"Take a break."
"You realize it's your life on the line, right?" you huffed, turning to look at him.
"My life will always be in danger, Y/N," Kol hummed, taking your books out of your lap with a minor protest from you. "That's not going to change tonight."
"Don't underestimate me," you grabbed your cup, taking a deep sip and looking at him over the lid.
"I would never underestimate you," he grabbed your coffee and stole a sip himself, earning a growl from you. "Half the things you say shock and confuse me."
"It's my charm."
"Let's do something fun," Kol stood up, trying to drag you with him. "Research is bloody boring."
"We have two very different ideas of 'fun,' Mikaelson," you curled up into a ball on the couch, peering up at him through heavy-lidded eyes. An idea sparked in your head, and you turned a devilish smile to the brunette. "How about tarot cards?"
You found an old deck in the compound, creating a space on the table in the central area to lay out the spread. Even though having your cards would be better, you thought you could probably make do with these. You gave Kol the cards to shuffle and watched as he spent meticulous time connecting with the cards before handing the deck back to you. You started laying out the cards on the table, forming a cross with four cards separate on the side. You tucked your legs underneath you, curling up on the floor so you were huddled by the table. Kol joined you, his back against the couch as he peered at you straightening up the cards.
"You realize you're going to flip them over, right?"
"Shut up, Mikaelson," you chimed, finishing your organization. He watched you with a small smile, and you made the effort to ignore his stare. "We'll start with your Present card."
“Boring,” Kol sing-songed. "Tell me my future."
"I have to go in order, to give an accurate reading."
"Darling, the cards are already laid out; you can do whatever you want," Kol leaned closer to you, squinting his eyes in amusement. "I live my life in futures; who cares about the past?"
Sighing, you decided to obey the nosey vampire and flip over his cards for Future and Near Future. The two cards revealed were the Lovers and Ace of Cups, respectively.
"In your Future is a strong romantic relationship," you start, pointing out the Lovers card featuring two swans intertwined. "This correlates to the Ace of Cups, which signifies new beginnings. Since the Ace of Cups is in your near future, you'll likely encounter someone you'll soon develop a deep, long-lasting relationship with." You turn your eyes to Kol, raising an eyebrow. "Shocking, considering your personality."
"It's not that shocking," Kol quipped, leaning closer to you. "We're here, aren't we?"
His pupils were enlarged as he gazed upon you, and his glance to your lips told you exactly where his mind was. You couldn't deny you weren't thinking the same thing. It didn't help that Kol was dangerous in an enticing way. Ignoring all rational thought, you leaned in closer, nudging his nose with yours. Your heart was beating erratically, and you heard the sharp intake of breath he took. His fingers traced up your arm, each finger leaving goosebumps in their wake. What were you doing?
"How's the research going?" a voice called from the hallway. You scooted away immediately, but Kol stayed where he was. His jaw clenched as he suppressed a growl. Freya appeared, not aware of the situation and probably not caring anyway.
"I have a few ideas," you coughed, taking a deep breath to calm your beating heart.
"Great, I'd love to hear them so I can stop having stressful dreams," Freya chuckled, moving over to the couch. You sent Kol a glance as you passed your journal to Freya. The look he gave you told you that what started wasn't over. And the worst part was you didn't want it to be over.
[4] Injured after a fight
A headache. That's what you were nursing.
A sharp ringing pierced through your ears, the lights above you blurring into a bad abstract painting. A figure appeared above you, and you slowly registered that it was calling your name. You squinted your eyes, the action causing a splitting pain as the shape of Kol formed in front of you. Worry creased his brows, and blood splattered his face.
"Y/N, Y/N, can you hear me?" Kol asked, cradling your head. You nodded, grabbing his arms to help pull yourself up. Chaos was erupting around you, and the stifling smell of magic was enough to knock you out again. That's what had happened. It was an ambush, and despite your abilities, you were blasted back into a wall, probably with a concussion and broken bones. It was times like this when you were envious of a vampire's healing skills. "I need to get you out of here."
"They need our help," you grimaced, catching Klaus ripping off someone's arms in the background. Kol caught your gaze and bothered with a slight smirk.
"I'm sure Nik is fully capable of handling himself. Plus, my other siblings are here, and Freya called Vincent. They won't miss us."
"I'll be fine," you tried to say, but it ended in a wheeze as the effort of sitting up caused pain in your lungs.
"You will not. Can you stand?" Kol watched you struggle for a second before picking you up. In a normal situation, you would've complained, but considering all you felt was ow ow ow ow ow you thought better than to complain. You wrapped your arms around his neck, holding on tightly as he sped out of the scene and back to the compound. Kol laid you gently on the couch, kneeling before you, biting into his wrist and holding it to your lips. "You need to drink."
"I don't want to be a vampire," you mumbled, brushing a hand across your forehead. Your fingers held blood on them, and you became dizzy with that knowledge.
"I won't let that happen now, drink," Kol insisted, his voice having a hard edge. Considering he was a stubborn bastard, you relented. You hesitantly grabbed his wrist and brought it up to your mouth. The blood slid down your throat cleanly, but you had to suppress the urge to gag anyway since it was blood. You felt your bones click into place, and your headache dull to a memory. You finally looked up, catching Kol's gaze on you. How was it intensely erotic to have someone watch you drink their blood? There must be therapy for issues like this, but you didn't really care. How he looked at you was akin to a predator waiting to devour its next meal. You knew if you let him, he would fulfill every potential vampire fantasy one could have. He touched your cheek, touching your lips where his blood was just a second ago. He pulled away, red coating his fingers, and you suppressed a groan when he sucked the leftover blood.
"Kol," you whispered, your voice raspy. He sat up at eye level, leaning down as if to kiss you. Of course, things weren't that easy, as his family burst into the compound right at that moment. You wanted to let out a scream of frustration but ended up being caught off guard by Klaus dropping a head by the entryway.
"Glad to see our little witch is okay," Klaus chimed, looking pretty proud of himself. If Kol were a cartoon character, he'd blow smoke out of his ears.
"I'm alive," you sighed. Klaus walked over, ignoring his brother's glares, and patted you on the shoulder. That was the closest thing to the affection you were getting from the hybrid. As the rest of the family delved into a conversation about the ambush, you finally got up and looked at the original kneeling on the ground before you. "We'll finish this later," you smiled, pretending to ignore the slight growl that left Kol's mouth as you walked off.
[5] Evil has passed
"I thought you would've left."
Kol stood in the entryway of his bedroom at the Mikaelson home while you stood (guilty) by his bookshelf.
"I was returning this book I borrowed from you," you said innocently. Putting the book back on the shelf, you turned to the man before you, trying his best to plaster on a convincing smile. The threat has passed, your job was over, and yet you were melancholy. These people had caused problems throughout your home since they arrived, yet your temporary alliance ending was something of sadness. You were tired of pretending it was for any reason other than Kol. Kol started as an annoying individual who sought to drive you up the wall, but now was someone you saw a kinship with. Your long talks on history and adventures across the globe were moments where you saw his guard fall, and you loved every second of it. It helped that he was pretty to look at.
"I guess this means goodbye then, doesn't it witchling?" Kol sighed, shoving his hands in his jeans pockets. You could swear he sounded disappointed, but you didn't want to get your hopes up.
"Depends," you crossed your arms. "I could be persuaded to come back."
"Persuaded?" Kol inquired, that mischievous glint in his eyes telling you he would ensure a way to keep you around. "Any particular reason?"
"If someone wanted me around, I guess," you smiled, a tiny grin but good enough for Kol to stroll towards you until he towered over your figure.
"I'll give you a good reason," Kol murmured, a devilish smirk on his lips. "Something that we kept getting interrupted for in the past." He cupped your face in his hands, lowering his lips so they were a hairsbreadth from yours.
"Don't be a tease," you breathed. Letting out a dark chuckle, he pressed his lips to yours. It was surprisingly light, not hungry like his usual personality. He tasted like a fresh snowstorm and an evergreen forest, and you know you could get drunk on that alone. Wrapping your arms around his torso, you brought him closer to you, deepening the kiss and earning a light groan from the vampire. Kol's hands tangled in your hair, one of them going to hold your waist. Every touch of his was coldfire, and you were so glad that you were finally alone to burn in him. He tilted your head back, leaving open-mouthed kisses along your throat that caused you let out a moan. He nipped the junction of your neck and shoulder, kissing over it until he was back at your lips again, leaving a searing kiss. Kol pulled away, glancing at you with eyes abysmal. "What took you so long to do that?" you breathed, a grin covering your face as Kol laughed, kissing the corner of your mouth.
"You're all mine now," Kol smiled, kissing you again. "Always and forever."

Ahhh your writing is just perfect! ❤️ I dare for another idea hehe 🫶🏼 just maybe something where you're dating but you get incredibly jealous as Katherine appears back in town and you know of their past. So you think it would be better to step back for a while but Elijah notices immediately and misses you as you not show up at any occurrence. He later finds you at the Grill, talking with the Salvatores about that topic and Elijah eavesdropped the whole conversation, finally realizing what's wrong with you and feeling bad for this to happen, as he only has eyes and feelings towards you. Then one night he invites you over to his house and tells you about his feelings and that you don't have to worry about Katherine as she's long forgotten to him and he proves that to you that night? ☺️ Ugh I love cute and fluffy Elijah !
Description: With Katherine back in town, knowing Elijah's past with Katherine brings some unwanted shades of jealousy to the reader.
Warnings: she/her pronouns, fluff, swearing
*Requests are open, please send through as many requests as you want, check my character list and requesting rules.*

First Person's POV
Elijah and I currently sat in my favourite café, it was normally very quiet and once again today was one of those days. Elijah stared at me with admiration, he held my hand softly in his, rested small kisses on my knuckles and whispered words of devotion.
"I'm just going to run to the bathroom." Elijah nodded, resting another kiss on my hand and finally let me go off to the bathroom, I did what I needed to do and finally came back out. I stopped in my tracks, seeing a brunette talking to Elijah, he looked less than impressed, he looked pissed and I could only assume what that meant.
"Katherine." I simply stated, choosing to sit beside Elijah instead of across from him, the woman forced a smile to her lips the resting bitch look not fading from her eyes. I could feel this twinge of hurt and jealousy invading my being. Katherine took it upon herself to sit down and join us, Elijah let go of my hand and the once gentle and tender look that decorated his features was long gone.
"What was your name again...?"
"Y/n" I answered, hating the way she stared at Elijah, I knew of their past as Elijah had been quite open about his past relationships. Katherine nodded, shrugging and turned her attention to Elijah. I grabbed my things, kissed his cheek and pushed myself up to leave.
"Bonnie wanted me to do something, I'll see you later." Elijah nodded, staring at me for a moment, I walked out before anything could be said and made my way to Bonnie's house. I asked Bonnie to do a spell, something that would allow me to go under the radar and not be found by Elijah considering that I would be distancing myself from the love of my life to conceal the ugly green monster.
I had been cancelling dates, vague answers over the phone and would leave quickly with some bullshit excuse if Elijah appeared out of the blue. I could tell he could sense something was, I didn't want to mention that something was wrong and he hadn't questioned my actions.
Elijah's POV
Something was wrong with Y/n I couldm't place my finger on what it was, I couldn't understand what had happened and why she decided to almost disappear. I was missing her dearly, I missed seeing her smile, I missed her silly little jokes and her ability to make all my world seem so much better against all the issues going down. I missed her little rambles she would go on, the point is that I miss her and I don't know how to bring her back to me.
I had finally been able to catch the trail and follow her around, see if I could understand what was going on and it took me to the Grill. I stood near the bar, blending into the ground and proceeded to listen in on her conversation with the Salvatore brothers.
"I know it's silly of me but I can't help but be jealous."
"Come on, you know that the noble fossil wouldn't cheat on you." Damon remarked, a clear roll of the eyes that made Y/n whack him lightly.
"I being serious Damon! I know he has history with Katherine, when he was human he loved Tatia and then he found Katherine. What if her coming back brings back the feelings? I can't stand the idea of him leaving me for her and I don't want that to happen."
"Y/n have you tried speaking with Elijah? You know he'd hear you out and he'll be respectful of what you're going through." I let out a breath, I clenched my eyes shut, hating in myself for not reading the signs. If I knew sooner I would've done everything in my power to reassure Y/n that the only person my heart sings for is her.
"He's a 1000+ year old vampire, he has more important things than dealing with my petty feelings."
"Y/n listen here. Elijah worships the ground you walk on, he wouldn't think any less of you for worring about Katherine. We all know what Katherine is like and you have every reason to be worrying about it." Damon's response seemed to freeze her in her place.
"Thank you..."
Four nights later, I invited Y/n to come over, I will admit I was surprised when she agreed. We journed to my bedroom, she placed herself on the bed, fiddled with her hands and I took this as an opportunity to shut down the feelings of doubt and jealousy.
"Y/n the other night, I overheard you speaking to the Salvatores about what's been going on..." She buried her face in her  hands, looking ashamed and worried about what I could possibly say. I sat beside her, took her hand and cupped her face in my other hand to ensure she met my eyes.
"I understand your worries completely. I understand and I want you to know, that Katherine does not matter to me. She hasn't for 500 years. All I care about is you, no one else matters to me, just you. I love you with all my heart, I love your smile and your little jokes. I love when you leave me a note with a little picture, I worship the ground you walk on and I will go to hell back to prove that I love you as much as I do. I am awfully sorry that you haven't felt as if you could speak to me and I feel awful that this happened. But please, my love... know that I would never ever dream of breaking your heart and leaving you alone. You have my word, I promise you that I won't let the devil of a woman try and break us apart because she is long forgetten."
She took a few breaths, Y/n moved closer to me, rested a kiss upon my forehead and took a moment before finding the courage to speak.
"I am sorry, I'm sorry that I didn't come to you, I'm sorry I didn't allow you to know what was going on. It was fair of me to shut you out when you haven't done anything to warrent it. Please forgive me."
"There's nothing to apologise or forgive for. My love, let me prove to you my undying and everlasting love for you." Her shy little smile brought a smile to my lips, I cupped her face in my hands, bringing her in for a kiss and listened to her hum as I brought her into my arms for an embrace, Y/n took a moment to breathe and whispers softly into my ear.
"i love you, Elijah. I love you more than you'll ever know."
"I love you more my love."
First Person's POV
Late into the night, we lay in each other's arms, Elijah and I lay naked under the blankets. My headed rest on his chest, he took my hand away lying across him and brought my hand to rest a sweet and longing kiss against my palm. The action was enough to keep my smile stuck on my lips and it was enough for me to snuggle in closer to him with my hand resting in his and his tender eyes continuing to made me feel incredibly loved and devoted to.

Prologue ~ Europe 13th Century
"This way!" A boy laughed as he darted beneath a low-hanging branch. Behind him, a small girl hurried along, lifting her skirt to keep up, her breath catching in short gasps.
"Slow down! Wait for me!" she called, tripping over roots and brambles in her haste. "I can't run as fast as you!"
The boy glanced back, grinning. "Then hurry, will you."
"We ought to be home by now." She replied, frowning.
"We are almost there," he replied, leaping over a fallen branch before turning to face her, eyes gleaming. "We can get home quicker through the woods."
"I don’t like it," she murmured, clutching her skirt tighter. Shadows crept over the path as the sun sank lower, casting an orange glow through the dense branches. "The hour grows late."
The boy shook his head, catching her hand with a reassuring squeeze. "We’ll be fine. It’s only a short way."
Reluctantly, she nodded, holding onto him. "If anything ill should happen, I’ll tell Mother."
He only laughed, tugging her down the narrow path. "If something ill happens, you may not get the chance!"
Their laughter echoed in the stillness as they raced ahead. The trees grew taller, their branches clawing toward the darkening sky, while thick underbrush crowded the trail, rustling with each step. Yet the children, lost in their game, scarcely noticed, laughing and squealing as they chased one another.
Then, a sound, a subtle, almost a whisper, seeped through the quiet. The girl stopped, clutching the boy’s arm. “Did you hear that?”
“What is it?”
“Shh,” she hissed, pulling him closer, her wide eyes searching the shadows. "Listen."
They stood in silence, the air heavy and still, broken only by their own quickening breaths.
“It’s nothing. Perhaps a deer-”
“No, it’s more than that,” she whispered. Somewhere ahead, faint and distant, came the flicker of firelight. And with it, laughter. Wild and strange.
“What is that?” the boy asked, his voice barely a breath.
“Quiet,” she said, creeping forward, pulling him toward the light.
They peered out from behind a tree, breath catching at the sight before them. A great fire blazed, roaring into the sky as shadows twisted around it. Two figures danced wildly around the flames, naked, their skin smeared with red and ash. Their laughter, sharp and otherworldly, pierced the night air.
The girl’s scream barely escaped her lips before the boy’s hand clamped over her mouth, pulling her back. They stumbled, clutching one another, then turned and fled, racing down the trail as fast as their little legs would carry them, branches clawing at their clothes.
By the time they burst into the village, their faces were pale, their breaths ragged. Villagers gathered around as the children stumbled forward, pointing frantically toward the woods.
“Demons!” the girl gasped, clutching at the skirts of the nearest woman. “They’re out there! In the forest!”

There was a hushed sadness over the compound. The lights seemed to have dimmed, and the atmosphere hung heavy, cold and suffocating. It had been that way since the night Elijah found your lifeless body on the cold pavement. The night that changed everything.
Rebekah didn’t like it here anymore. Her home felt more like a tomb than a residence. It was too quiet, too full of memories and emotions too painful to confront. Her big brother was suffering, and there was nothing she could do to help him.
She found Klaus sitting in the courtyard, staring blankly at a chessboard. The pieces were scattered, mid-game, but his focus seemed to drift in and out. Normally, this contemplative silence from him made her nervous, but today she couldn’t muster the energy to care. The weight of everything was too much.
“Any news?” Rebekah asked, her voice barely a whisper.
Klaus didn’t move, didn’t speak at first. He shifted a chess piece absentmindedly and shrugged.
The sound of Marcel’s footsteps echoed through the stillness of the courtyard. She felt one of his warm hands rest gently on the small of her back, and she leaned into him, drawing comfort from his presence.
“I’ve been asking around. Only lead I have is that he’s somewhere in Europe,” Marcel said, his voice sounding hollow.
“Well, where in Europe?” Klaus finally spoke, his gaze never leaving the board.
“Don’t know. Haven’t pinpointed his exact location yet,” Marcel sighed. “But he’s been killing low-level Strix members, leaving bodies in his wake.”
Klaus scoffed softly, moving another piece on the board. “Keep looking,”
“You almost sound like you care,” Rebekah hissed, glaring at him.
“Don’t start with me, little sister,” Klaus warned, his voice low and sharp.
“Elijah has always been there for us,” she snapped, “And when he needs our help, where are you? Sitting here, playing chess with yourself.”
Klaus’s fist slammed down on the chessboard, sending the pieces flying across the table. He stood abruptly, stalking toward her, his eyes blazing. But Rebekah didn’t flinch, didn’t step back. She held his glare with her own, unrelenting.
“What do you want me to do?” Klaus roared, his voice cracking as his anger gave way to the grief simmering beneath. “Tell me, Rebekah. How do I fix this?”
“I want you to find him!” she screamed, tears stinging her eyes. “He’s our brother, Nik!”
Klaus’s shoulders slumped. His rage deflated, leaving him hollow. “I don’t know how to fix this, little sister,” he admitted quietly.
Marcel cleared his throat, stepping forward. “Maybe we should give him some time. Let him mourn her.”
“He’s not mourning, Marcel,” Klaus growled, clenching his jaw. “He’s murdering. He hasn’t even accepted that she’s dead.”
Rebekah and Marcel exchanged worried glances.
“We can’t just let him destroy himself,” Rebekah argued, her voice breaking. “Wherever he is, whoever crosses his path... they’re doomed. He’s out of control.”
“He’s changed,” Marcel muttered, rubbing his temple. “I’ve never seen him like this. So violent, so volatile.”
“That’s why I’m worried, Nik,” Rebekah said, her tone deadly serious. “If he’s not stopped, the Elijah we know will be gone. He will become a monster.”
Klaus looked down at the shattered chess pieces scattered across the table. “We are monsters, Rebekah,” he whispered, his voice raw.
“No, Nik,” she said, her voice trembling. “Not like this.”
Klaus remained silent for a moment, then lifted his gaze to meet hers. “Suppose someone took Marcellus from you. What would you do?”
“I would raze this earth and dance on the ashes,” she answered without hesitation, the fire of her love and loyalty burning bright in her eyes.
“That’s what he’s doing,” Klaus said darkly.
“Yes,” Rebekah agreed, “but Elijah would come for me. He would find me, and help me, keep me from losing myself. Now he’s the one who needs help.”
“How do we stop him?” Marcel asked, though his voice was laden with doubt.
Klaus shook his head slowly. “We don’t.”
“Nik…” Rebekah started, her voice pleading.
“We contain the damage,” Klaus cut her off, the steely resolve returning to his voice. “I’ll go to Europe. I’ll bring him back.”
Rebekah exhaled, relief flooding through her, and she pulled Klaus into a tight hug. She didn’t say anything, just held him as though her arms alone could keep the family from falling apart. He hugged her back, and for a moment, the cracks in their family seemed to close.
Marcel stood behind her, placing a hand on her shoulder and squeezing gently.
When she finally pulled away, Rebekah gave her brother a sad smile. “Be careful.”
Klaus nodded. “I will.”
His eyes flicked to Marcel, and the two men exchanged a knowing look. They both understood how dangerous this was. That if Elijah couldn’t be saved, they might lose him forever.
Or worse... they might have to put him down.

Two members of the Strix walked side by side, their steps echoing off the marble floors. One glanced around nervously, eyeing the high-tech security measures surrounding them, cameras in every corner, reinforced steel doors, layers of magical barriers.
"Is this really necessary? I can't stand being cooped up here. What's the point?" the taller vampire complained, his voice echoing through the empty corridor.
"Protocol," the other replied, his tone bored. "You know how paranoid Tristan can be. But I’m telling you, no one's getting in here. Not even him."
"I don’t get it. We had nothing to do with her death. Why are we hiding?"
"He doesn’t know that." The second vampire shook his head, his eyes flicking toward a monitor displaying multiple feeds from around the compound. “And he doesn’t seem to care about guilt or innocence anymore.”
They stopped at a reinforced door, pressing their palms to the scanners. As the heavy doors slid open, the two shared a final glance, the reality sinking in that even their supposed impenetrable defenses might not be enough.
They stepped into the dim room, illuminated only by the flickering light of the chandelier hanging above a long oak table. Strix members filled the chairs, their faces tense and uneasy. They had gathered in secret, far from prying eyes. Whispers of fear and uncertainty drifted across the room, but no one dared to speak above a murmur. The air was heavy with dread, and no one felt safe.
At the head of the table, Aya stood, her sharp gaze cutting through the room like a blade. She had always been the picture of composure, a pillar of strength, but now, her patience was thinning, her power waning, cracks in her armor where fear leaked through. Beside her, Tristan de Martel leaned casually in his chair, an amused smile playing on his lips, as if this was all a game to him. His eyes scanned the room, taking in the faces of his fellow Strix members, reveling in their discomfort.
“We all know why we’re here,” Aya began, her voice cold and steady, but there was an underlying tension to it, like a string about to snap. “Our ranks are thinning, and the reason is no secret.”
A murmur rippled through the room. Heads turned, glances were exchanged. They knew. Everyone knew.
“Elijah Mikaelson,” Tristan added, his voice smooth and casual, as if he were discussing the weather. His eyes gleamed with a cruel delight. “The noble brother has gone rogue. It seems the death of his beloved has… unraveled him.”
"That's an interesting way of putting it," one Strix member commented, his voice dripping with disdain. "He ripped apart fifty of my men, left a trail of bodies and witnesses, it took me days to cover it all up,"
"And how many vampires has he killed since then? Hundreds? Thousands?" another voice chimed in, sounding bitter.
"You're just scared," another vampire challenged, his tone mocking.
"Of course, we're scared. Do you know what he's capable of?" the first vampire hissed, baring his teeth.
"Silence," Aya ordered, her tone icy. The room fell quiet, the air crackling with tension. "We cannot defeat him, nor can we sit by and wait for him to tear us apart. He has lost his humanity, and it's clear that we must take action."
"We have already taken action and all it does is piss him off," the Strix member grumbled, "I have no interest in fighting a losing battle."
"You're a coward," Aya snarled, her eyes flashing with anger.
"What would you have us do?" another vampire spoke up, their voice strained, "We're no match for him."
"Perhaps we should consider a bargain," Tristan suggested, a sly smirk creeping across his lips. "Find the killer, deliver them to him, and save ourselves the trouble of being murdered."
The members murmured amongst themselves, some seeming open to the idea, while others still appeared wary.
"I cannot fathom why someone would be so foolish. Surely the person who did this knows the repercussions," a member said, a hint of fear in their voice.
Tristan's smile widened. "They were foolish indeed, and now they are the most hunted man, or woman, in the world,"
Aya's face was impassive, her mind racing. She had no doubt that Elijah would tear down the world to find his killer, and if the Strix didn't deliver them, he would do the same to their ranks. Tristan's indifference infuriated her. While he sat there with a smile, the Strix were suffering the consequences of his poor leadership.
A soft little cough pulled her from her thoughts, and she looked up to see a small girl standing at the other end of the table. She looked no older than twelve, with delicate features and wide, doe-like eyes. She looked lost, and this wasn't a place you could just wander into.
Other members noticed her presence and got to their feet, the scraping of chairs echoing off the walls. Aya narrowed her eyes, taking in the girl's appearance.
"Who are you?" Aya asked, her voice sharp.
The girl was clearly terrified, her hands shaking, and she looked like a deer caught in the headlights. Aya found it strange. She didn't sense the power of a witch coming off her, she was just a girl, and a very young one at that.
"I-I'm sorry," the girl stammered, her voice barely a whisper, "I don't know why I'm here. I just woke up here and now, I-I'm scared,"
"How did you get in here?" Aya questioned, her voice low and menacing.
"A nice man told me to come here," the girl mumbled, her eyes darting around the room, taking in the tense, hostile atmosphere. "He wanted me to talk to you."
Aya raised an eyebrow. "And why would he want that?"
The girl shrugged, her eyes brimming with tears. "I don't know, please, I just want to go home,"
"What did he look like?" Aya pressed, her voice growing louder.
"He had dark hair, and brown eyes," the girl sniffled, trying to hold back her sobs.
Tristan's jaw clenched, his eyes narrowing dangerously. The room was suddenly silent, the tension now unbearable. Aya stared at the girl, her face an unreadable mask, but inside, her mind was racing.
"What did he want you to say?" Aya asked, her voice quiet, dangerous.
The girl’s breath hitched, her words barely audible. "That... he will give all of you a slow death."
The temperature in the room plummeted, and a cold shiver ran down Aya’s spine. She struggled to hide her unease, but the implication was clear: Elijah had infiltrated their sanctuary.
"A-and that... if I can get in..." The girl gulped, her small voice quaking, "He can too."
The room fell into a suffocating silence as the weight of her words settled on the group. Tristan shot up from his chair, his face dark with fury.
“Lockdown procedures. Now.” Tristan barked, his voice commanding and harsh.
"What about the girl?" Aya asked, her eyes narrowing as she looked at the trembling child. Her instincts told her something wasn’t right.
"Kill her," Tristan spat, his voice cold and merciless. "She’s served her purpose."
The room erupted into chaos. Sirens blared as the compound went into immediate lockdown. The lights flickered, dimming to an eerie glow. The Strix moved quickly, vanishing into the shadows, their bodies blurring as they scattered, heading for safe rooms or exit points.
Aya hesitated for a moment, her gaze still fixed on the girl. She started toward her, but a voice in her head warned her against it. With one last glance, she turned and hurried toward the safe room.
The little girl stood trembling in the darkness, tears streaming down her face. The once-imposing vampires had fled, leaving her all alone in the icy silence.
"It's okay, sweetheart," a voice purred from the shadows, smooth and calming. The girl gasped, her heart racing as she felt a hand on her shoulder, firm yet oddly comforting.
She turned to see a tall man standing behind her, his dark hair framing his sharp features, his kind eyes watching her closely. "Run along now," he said softly, giving her a gentle push toward the door.
The girl nodded quickly, wiping her tears before scampering away, the door sliding shut behind her with a soft hiss.
Elijah watched her go, his kind smile fading as the room returned to darkness. His eyes glinted coldly, the warmth in them vanishing like smoke. Slowly, the veins beneath his eyes darkened, spreading like cracks in the surface of his calm exterior.
He was already inside.
As the sirens echoed, he vanished into the shadows once more, his presence like a gathering storm. And what followed this storm, was pure, unrelenting destruction.
Tumblr media
The soft drone of a news broadcast drifted through an abandoned loft, dust floating through the air. The heavy velvet curtains were drawn, the room dark and shadowy, save for the light of a flickering TV. The anchor woman's face was somber, her voice solemn.
“Une tragédie a frappé Paris la nuit dernière... un incendie dévastateur a détruit un immeuble historique, laissant peu de traces de ce qui s’y trouvait. Les autorités locales confirment que l’origine du feu demeure inconnue, mais la rapidité à laquelle il s’est propagé soulève des questions.”
Subtitles scrolled across the bottom of the screen in English: "A tragic accident struck Paris last night... a devastating fire destroyed a historic building, leaving few traces of what was inside. Local authorities confirm that the cause of the fire is unknown, but the speed at which it spread raises questions."
The camera cut to images of the smoldering wreckage. Blackened stone, twisted metal, and fire trucks still spraying water over what little remained.
Elijah wasn't paying attention to the TV anymore; he had his head in his hands, hunched over in a chair, his body wracked with sobs. Bodies were strewn about the room, blood spattered on the walls and floors. A macabre painting of violence and rage. The sight of the lifeless forms weighed heavily on him, a chilling reminder of his own actions.
He didn't know how long he had been there, but it felt like an eternity. Each day blended into the next, the hours stretching into a meaningless void. Days would go by where he felt utterly detached, lost in a sea of grief and loss, and then the anger would return, awakening him to a new trail of bodies. There were so many, too many, and yet it wasn't enough.
“Les témoins affirment avoir vu des ombres avant que l’incendie n’éclate, mais aucune preuve tangible n’a été trouvée. Des sources proches de l’enquête évoquent une possible attaque ciblée, bien que les détails restent flous.”
"Witnesses reported seeing shadows before the fire broke out, but no physical evidence has been found. Sources close to the investigation say there may have been a targeted attack, though details remain unclear."
"You used a child? My love, what has become of you?"
Elijah didn't flinch, didn't react as he felt your arms wrap around his shoulders, your lips pressing a gentle kiss on his cheek. Your voice was soft, tinged with sadness and disappointment. He hated himself for it.
"She's fine," Elijah said, his voice strained, barely able to meet your gaze.
"You don't know that," you sighed, your hands moving to his chest, trying to soothe him. "And you know this isn't the way,"
"There is no other way," he replied, his voice cracking, desperation lacing his words.
"You used an innocent child, one not much older than Hope," you said, a hint of anger breaking through your sadness.
Elijah stiffened. He knew you were right. It didn't make what he did any better, and he felt his self-loathing increase tenfold.
"They killed you; I did what I had to," Elijah defended, but the words felt hollow, a pitiful excuse.
"This isn't the way," you repeated, your voice pleading, "and you don't know who did it, or why. This is all just a guess, a hunch."
He let out another quiet sob, then grabbed his glass of blood and threw it against the wall, the shards falling like crimson rain. He stared at the stain on the wall, watching the liquid trickle down, and he couldn't help but feel a sick sense of satisfaction.
"You have to stop," you whispered, appearing in front of him, your hand cupping his cheek, trying to pull him away from the dark, destructive spiral he was on.
"I can't," he said, his voice breaking, unable to look at you, this ghost haunting him.
"Please," you begged, your hand moving to his neck, gently stroking his skin, trying to comfort him. "I know this pain. It's agony, it's consuming, but I promise you, it will fade."
He pulled you onto his lap, his arms wrapping around you, holding you close, trying to breathe in your scent, to feel your warmth. But he couldn't. You were an echo, a phantom he couldn't grasp.
"You can't bring me back. You know that," you whispered, your voice barely audible, a soft, sad reminder.
He didn't respond, just held you, his fingers digging into your skin, his eyes closed tightly, fighting back tears. He had spent so many nights like this, crying himself to sleep, waking up to nothing, just an empty bed, a cold room, and a hollow, broken heart.
He opened his eyes and let out a gasp as he realized he was clinging to one of the dead bodies on the floor, the vampire's skin gray and decaying, the body long since gone cold.
Elijah released the body and staggered to his feet, his head swimming with despair and self-loathing. His pain and sorrow gave way to anger and frustration, fueling the urge to hurt, to destroy anything and anyone.
"Par ailleurs, une jeune fille a disparu après ne pas être rentrée chez elle. La jeune fille, qui aurait douze ans, a été vue pour la dernière fois dans la zone de l'incendie,"
"In other news, a young girl has gone missing after failing to return home. The girl, who is reported to be twelve years old, was last seen in the area of the fire..."
Elijah snapped, grabbing the TV and throwing it against the wall, the sound of shattering glass echoing through the room. His rage burned bright, a hot, white flame. His heart raced, his breathing ragged, his body shaking with fury.
He wanted to scream, he wanted to kill, but more than anything, he wanted you. He wanted to hold you, to feel your warmth, to hear your voice. He couldn't take it anymore; he was falling apart.

Klaus was never a big croissant fan; he preferred something heartier for breakfast. But here, in France, the flaky pastry seemed to taste infinitely better. Maybe it was the morning sunlight filtering through the café windows or the distant sounds of bustling streets.
He took a sip of his espresso, his eyes scanning the crowded café, absorbing the lively atmosphere. Freya sat across from him, her brow furrowed as she read a spell book, her expression thoughtful.
"Anything in there about wrangling wayward siblings?" Klaus teased, a wry grin playing on his lips.
Freya glanced up, a slight frown creasing her forehead. "That's more your area of expertise."
Klaus let out a huff of laughter. "Fair enough."
Freya’s expression softened, a small smile breaking through. "It will be okay. We'll find him."
Klaus nodded, biting into his croissant, the flakes melting in his mouth. The clatter of dishes and murmurs of conversation surrounded them, along with the distant strains of a busker playing a violin.
"Then what? I’ve never known what to say to him," Klaus said, a hint of sadness in his voice. "He’s always the one with the wise words, not me."
"Honesty is all we have," Freya replied, her tone gentle. "We tell him we miss him, that he’s our brother, and we want him home."
"And that we need to have a funeral, or at least a memorial. Hope is very confused about what happened to her aunt," Klaus added, his gaze drifting to the people walking by the window.
"We'll do it together, as a family," Freya reassured, reaching across the table to squeeze his hand. Her touch was gentle, a lifeline in the turmoil. "He needs to know we’re here for him."
"And if he doesn’t want to come back? What then?" Klaus asked, his voice heavy with concern.
"We will cross that bridge when we get to it." Freya pointed at the spell book, her expression brightening. "I’m looking into ways to calm his mind. Perhaps if he can control his rage, he can start to heal."
"I don’t wish to subdue him," Klaus said, frowning. "He deserves the right to his pain, to grieve in his own way."
Freya’s eyes widened, surprised by his response. It wouldn’t be the first time Klaus had tried to force Elijah or the rest of their family into doing things his way. Yet, despite his brashness, she knew Klaus was a man of deep, powerful emotions, capable of empathy.
"What?" Klaus asked, quirking an eyebrow at her.
"You’ve grown," Freya smiled. "It’s good to see."
"Don’t get used to it," Klaus quipped, taking another bite of his croissant and washing it down with a sip of his espresso. "I wish for us to go back to normal, where I’m the problem."
"You’ll never not be a problem, Nik," Freya grinned, a mischievous glint in her eyes.
"Rude," he scowled.
"But true," she sighed, returning to her book with a smile.
Klaus took another sip of his espresso, his gaze drifting to the TV hanging in the corner. A news broadcast caught his attention, the images of a fire flickering on the screen. He leaned forward, his expression sharpening as he listened intently.
"There is new information coming in from the investigation into the fire in downtown Paris. Police have now identified more than two hundred bodies recovered from the scene, with no indication yet of how many are still missing. It's believed the victims were all members of a private art curation company, with holdings in several countries. While authorities are still investigating the cause of the blaze, it's being suggested the fire was set deliberately."
Klaus’s stomach dropped, a familiar dread creeping in. The timing was too convenient, and this 'art curation company' sounded like a cover for a secret society. He gestured to the screen, espresso still in hand, splashing a few drops onto the table. "Looks like a place for us to visit, wouldn’t you say?"
Freya looked up, her brow furrowing. "Do you think Elijah has anything to do with it?"
"If this organization is the Strix -sorry, was the Strix- then absolutely," Klaus replied, a grim smile forming on his lips. "Perhaps they gave him the answers he was looking for. Answers we weren’t able to find."
"I can’t imagine it would have been a pleasant reunion," Freya sighed, shaking her head. "I can’t say I blame him."
Klaus’s smile faded. He had tried his best, searching for months through the ashes of Elijah’s rage. He had gone from city to city, country to country, even continent to continent. And now, as he stood on the brink of discovery, he couldn’t help but wonder what condition Elijah would be in when they finally found him.
"Well then, no point in wasting any more time," Klaus said, taking a final sip of his espresso.
Freya nodded, closing her book, quickly downing her coffee before stealing the last bite of Klaus’s croissant, earning a playful glare.
"Oi!" he growled, "I was going to eat that."
"Too slow, brother," she smirked.
Klaus rolled his eyes and stood, tossing a wad of cash on the table without bothering to count. The two of them hurried out, the waiter shaking his head as he picked up the money and Klaus's empty plate.
"Americans," he muttered under his breath.

The site of the fire was a blackened husk, the acrid smell of smoke still heavy in the air. Klaus and Freya walked along the sidewalk, watching the firefighters douse the smoldering remains with water. Distant sirens echoed, a haunting reminder of the chaos that had unfolded.
"Can't believe it's still burning," Klaus mused, a slight frown on his face.
"Must have been quite the inferno," Freya remarked, her expression thoughtful.
"Magic?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
"No, I don't sense any," Freya said, shaking her head. "Whoever started it didn't use magic."
Klaus glanced at her, a smirk on his lips. "I thought you didn't think Elijah had anything to do with it?"
Freya shrugged. "Maybe he did, maybe he didn't."
Klaus wrinkled his nose, his keen sense of smell picking up the lingering scent of blood beneath all the ash and smoke. Human, vampire, a mix of the two. The fire had raged through the night, burning hot and fast, devouring everything in its path.
"I do sense death, though," Freya murmured, her brow furrowing, her expression darkening. "Lots of it."
"Well, I can't imagine there'll be much left for us to find, considering how thorough my brother is," Klaus muttered, his gaze roving over the ruined buildings, his stomach sinking.
"Why are you so sure it was him?" Freya asked, her eyes narrowing.
"Because I can smell his cologne, no1 passant guardant," Klaus replied, wrinkling his nose.
"Kinda weird that you can smell that, Nik," Freya smirked, giving him a sideways glance.
"I'm a hybrid, love; it's one of my many gifts," Klaus replied, his tone matter-of-fact.
Freya shook her head, a wry grin on her lips, suppressing a giggle as she watched her brother sniff the air, his eyes closed, his expression one of intense concentration.
"Could be someone else with the same taste in cologne; you never know," she teased, nudging him with her elbow.
"It’s very difficult to come by; only a handful of stores carry it," Klaus muttered, ignoring her teasing. "And... she bought it for him just before... you know."
"Ah," Freya's expression softened, her amusement replaced by a mix of sadness and understanding.
Klaus opened his eyes, his gaze sweeping over the destruction once more, the weight of grief settling on his shoulders. He missed you. Your laughter, your wit, the way you could put him in his place. He admired your loyalty, your strength, and how much you loved his brother.
"What are you thinking about?" Freya asked, her voice quiet and cautious.
"Our departed sister-in-law... the cause of all of this," Klaus said, a sad smile on his lips.
"You can't blame her, you know," Freya murmured, her eyes filled with understanding and sympathy. "I miss her too."
"It's hard to be reminded, is all," Klaus replied, a hint of pain in his voice.
Freya gave him a soft, sympathetic smile, her hand gently squeezing his shoulder. "You know... I never learned how they met," she said, trying to steer the conversation toward something less melancholy.
Klaus laughed, shaking his head. "Oh, it's quite a tale, and some parts I'm not privy to. But I can tell you that she was a novice in a convent," he began, a sparkle in his eye.
"A nun?!" Freya exclaimed, her eyebrows shooting up.
"Indeed, although she hadn't taken her vows," Klaus chuckled, amused by the surprised look on her face.
"So, what happened? How did they end up together?" Freya asked, intrigued.
"For all parties involved, it was quite a dramatic affair," Klaus continued, a wistful smile forming on his lips. "But we have more important things to focus on, don't you think?"
Freya sighed, rolling her eyes. "You're no fun."
Klaus let out a huff of laughter and returned to focusing on the scents around him, trying to find a trail, something that might lead him to his brother. He caught the faintest whiff of blood, the scent leading away from the fire, and deeper into the city.
"This way," he said, striding confidently down a street, away from the site of the fire.
Freya hurried to catch up, her long legs making short work of the distance, her boots clattering on the cobblestone streets.
"How can you be so sure?" Freya asked, falling in step beside him, her voice low and cautious.
"I just am," Klaus said, his tone brooking no argument. "That bloody cologne of his is everywhere. No one else has such atrocious taste in fragrances."
"Nik..." Freya cautioned, her tone warning, her gaze flickering to the passersby, making sure no one was eavesdropping. "We don't know what's waiting for us. We can't just charge in."
"I know; that's why you are going in first, my dear sister," Klaus smirked, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"Nik," Freya protested, her expression indignant.
"Don't worry, I'll be right behind you," Klaus grinned, giving her a playful nudge as they rounded a corner.
The two of them came to a stop outside an old building, its stone façade crumbling, the windows boarded up. Klaus gestured for Freya to go in, and with a roll of her eyes, she did.
"This place is creepy," she muttered, her boots echoing on the cracked tile floor.
"There's blood, a lot of it," Klaus said, sniffing the air, his eyes closed, his body tensed. "Upstairs."
They made their way up an old spiral staircase, the steps creaking under their feet. They reached a landing; the hallway was dark and narrow.
"Down there," Klaus said, pointing at a closed door at the end of the hall.
Freya nodded and slowly approached the door, her senses alert, her magic tingling under her skin. It was eerily quiet; the silence weighed heavy in the air, pressing down on her.
She stopped at the door, her hand hovering over the handle. She looked back at Klaus, his expression calm and composed, but she could sense his nervousness, his apprehension.
"Ready?" she whispered.
Klaus gave her a curt nod. Freya took a deep breath and turned the handle, the door opening with a creak.
"Elijah?"
The two of them were met with the sight of a massacre: body parts strewn across the room, blood splattered on the walls.
Freya gasped and took a step back, Klaus's hand gripping her shoulder. His eyes roved over the carnage, landing on a lone figure in the middle of the room, standing motionless.
"Elijah," Klaus breathed.
His brother was wearing an old T-shirt and jeans, tattered and bloodstained, covered in dirt. His hair was matted and wild, his eyes haunted, the light dimmed within them.
Klaus and Freya stepped inside, careful not to slip on the blood, the floor sticky and wet. They approached Elijah slowly, his gaze fixed on the severed arm in his hand, his eyes dull and lifeless.
"Brother?" Klaus said, his voice barely above a whisper, his hand reaching out.
"You are not real," Elijah murmured, not taking his eyes off the limb, his expression vacant and distant.
"Elijah, we're here," Freya said gently. "It's time to come home."
"I won't be fooled again," Elijah hissed, his grip tightening on the severed arm.
Klaus took a tentative step forward, one arm stretched behind him to protect Freya, the other held out, placating and non-threatening. "We're not illusions, brother," he said softly, reassuringly.
"Freya," Elijah breathed, his head snapping up, his gaze finding hers.
"Yes, Elijah, it's me," she replied, giving him a gentle smile.
He blinked, his eyes flicking from her face to Klaus's, his brow furrowing. "Have you found a way to bring her back?"
Klaus and Freya exchanged glances, their expressions sad and resigned. It wasn't something Freya wanted to do... to tap into such dark magic. She had been searching for you on the other side but found no trace. She believed you had found peace, and to tear you away from that would be a cursed, evil thing, an affront to the balance between life and death.
"Elijah, there's no way, not without consequence," Klaus said, his tone firm, his eyes filled with regret. "We discussed this."
Elijah dropped the severed arm, his hands clenching into fists. "You're wrong. There is a way."
"Elijah," Freya began, but he cut her off.
"Bring her back," he demanded, his eyes burning with intensity.
"I can't," Freya said, her voice quiet and regretful. "I'm sorry, Elijah. She's gone; she's at rest."
"No, no, no," Elijah growled, his hands coming up to grip his hair, tugging at the roots, his chest heaving, eyes wild.
"Brother, she's in a better place," Klaus tried, his tone firm and reassuring. "I think it's time you come home... You need to let her go."
Elijah shook his head, his breathing ragged, his whole body trembling. "No, no, no," he chanted, his eyes darting around the room, looking for something.
"Elijah," Freya murmured, her brow furrowed, her expression concerned. "Please, come with us. She wouldn't want this for you."
"No, no, no!" he growled, his voice echoing off the blood-spattered walls, his face contorted in a mask of rage.
He grabbed a nearby table and threw it against the wall, the sound of splintering wood reverberating through the air.
"Bloody hell," Klaus growled, grabbing Freya and yanking her backward, shielding her with his body.
Elijah lunged at them, his fangs bared, a murderous look in his eyes. He tackled Klaus, sending them both crashing into the wall, the plaster cracking under the impact.
"Nik!" Freya exclaimed, her magic sparking at her fingertips.
"Elijah, you've gone mad," Klaus grunted, shoving him away, sending him careening across the room. "She's dead."
"Niklaus," Elijah growled, his body vibrating with anger, the haunted, hollow look in his eyes replaced by raw, unhinged rage. "Bring. Her. Back."
"We can't, and you know it," Klaus spat, his eyes flashing yellow, his face shifting into the hybrid’s feral features. "She's at peace, Elijah. We need to let her go."
"I won't, I can't," Elijah raged, his body trembling, his eyes filling with unshed tears that threatened to spill over. His voice broke. "How can you ask me to do that?"
Freya’s heart clenched at the sight of her brother unraveling, his usual restraint shattered. "Come home, please," Freya pleaded, her eyes welling with tears, her voice thick with desperation. "We can help you."
Elijah's chest heaved, his wild eyes shifting from Klaus to Freya, barely recognizing them. "Get out," he growled, the words vibrating through the bloodstained room. His gaze locked on Klaus, his voice turning into a vicious snarl. "GET OUT!"
Klaus stared at him for a moment, his expression conflicted. Freya watched him pull a silver dagger out of his pocket, the familiar glint of the cursed weapon that had subjugated their family time and time again. She hadn't even known he had brought one with him, and her heart clenched at the sight. She didn’t want this for either of them. But given Elijah's state, she knew it was necessary.
"I'm sorry, Elijah," Klaus said, his voice solemn. He rushed forward, his movements a blur, and before Elijah could react, he buried the blade in his brother’s chest. The gasp Elijah let out echoed in the empty, ravaged room. The look on his face was heartbreaking, a mixture of shock and pain. Klaus had to steel himself against the emotion threatening to overtake him, reminding himself it was for the best, for all of them.
"Rest now, brother," Klaus murmured, pulling him into a tight embrace, cradling his body as Elijah slumped, his strength leaving him. His big brother, the north star of the family, now lost to grief.
"I thought you didn't want to subdue him," Freya whispered, her voice shaky, her eyes wide with shock as she pressed a trembling hand against her mouth.
"It was a last resort," Klaus said, his voice thick with emotion, trying and failing to hide the crack in his composure. "I couldn't bear seeing him like this any longer. I didn't think... he would be so... unhinged."
"He's grieving," Freya said softly, her eyes filled with sympathy as she knelt beside them, brushing a hand through Elijah’s matted hair. "He loves her, Nik. Losing her... it's broken him."
"I know," Klaus muttered, his arms tightening around Elijah, holding him close as if he could protect him from the demons he was fighting inside. His voice cracked, and before he could stop it, a tear slipped down his cheek. Quickly, he wiped it away, trying to maintain his strength.
"Time to go home," Klaus said, his voice barely above a whisper, thick with sorrow. "For all of us."
Freya reached out, gently taking Elijah's limp hand in hers, squeezing it tight as they prepared to leave the nightmare behind. She hoped and prayed that Elijah could feel her love through the numbness, that somewhere, deep within the wreckage of his mind, he knew they would never give up on him.
That the battle to bring you back hadn’t been in vain. It had only just begun.
