The Before Bed Kiss.

For number 46: Frenkie is on international duty, and despite all your efforts, your flight was canceled. Waiting at the airport, a very kind lady gave up her ticket, seeing how affected you were (a bit sappy here). You were late to the game, but just in time for the before bed kiss. Something along these lines, I hope this is ok :)

Frenkie’s disappointed wasn’t as great as your own. It couldn’t be. The sinking feeling had you kicking yourself repeatedly and though he’d tried to hide it, you could still hear the disappointment in his voice. You haven’t missed a single game since the two of you entered the relationship and yet, the game that’s playing out before you was supposed to be the first you were destined to miss. Everything had gone against you from the moment you’d woken up. Your passport was missing, your suitcase had jammed so you couldn’t put anything else in it, your house key snapped in the door (though thankfully, your mother had a spare key and was there to assist the locksmith as it got switched over, so you could leave), every light you came to in the car turned red and finally, your flight had been cancelled. Not delayed. Cancelled.

The stressful morning had resulted in you crying in the airport bathroom after the airport staff had informed you that the next few flights going out there were fully booked until tomorrow. By the time tomorrow came, it would be too late. Listening to your emotional breakdown, the woman behind you who was trying to check in kindly offered to swap her ticket, choosing to fly out tomorrow as she wasn’t in any rush.

Unable to believe such kindness still existed in the world, this had brought on fresh tears and a huge hug. With the ticket swapped over to your name and the fee paid, you were able to board the next flight. You’d offered to pay for her hotel and ensured she was in the best suite they offered, though you’re pretty certain that your card had cried as the website displayed “payment accepted” due to the cost, it would be a small cost in the long run.

You hadn’t told Frenkie that you’d been able to fly out. He had no idea you were here, and you hoped to keep it that way. If he was sad at the point of kick off, he no longer showed it as his face was one of pure determination. He played beautifully but was subbed ten minutes before the end. Taking this opportunity, you push away from where you stand and begin to make your way out of the stands and to continue the next part of your plan.

With the boys not playing at their own stadium, they were staying in a hotel not too far away. Frenkie had already made sure you had your own room arranged and had been included on the guest list. Obtaining your room card had been no issue and thankfully, you were able to get a copy of Frenkie’s too as requested by him previously. You know you don’t have long before he and the team return, so you change quickly, shower and slip into something a little more comfortable before heading up to Frenkie’s floor. Security lets you past as you present your pass, not that you’d need to because most of them know you anyway and you make them promise not to say you’re here.

Within twenty minutes of making yourself comfortable, you can hear their voices coming down the hallway as they chatter to one another. The key beeps and grants access with Frenkie kicking the door open and slowly making his way in. He pauses, hand on the back of the door as he’d started to close it while he stares at you laid on the bed, phone in your hand and your own eyes locked to his.

“Wh-how are you here?” He shoves the door closed, flicks on the lock and quickly makes his way over to you. “I though the flight was cancelled?”

“It was.” You laugh and take a deep breath before filling him in on everything. “Obviously someone or something needed me to be here tonight.”

“You know I can’t sleep properly without my goodnight kiss.” He adds, his happiness is clear on his face; he can’t keep the smile from it. “I was getting ready to come back here, maybe hang out with the boys before going to bed and facetiming you. It wouldn’t have been the same.”

“Good surprise?” You ask him, already knowing the answer.

“Amazing surprise.” He cups the back of your head and kisses you.

“And I saw the game. Well, most of it. I made my escape when you were subbed, thought it was easier to get back here before everyone filed out and so you wouldn’t catch me. Congratulations on the win.” You give his lips another quick kiss and smile again.

“A well thought out plan I see.”

“Hardly when today has gone so wrong.”

“And yet, you’re here with me regardless of it all going wrong.”

“And you get your goodnight kiss before bed.”

“And I get my goodnight kiss before bed.” He agrees.

Ok, so as I said earlier, you may remember me asking for a LOT of player names so I could write some blurbs. Now, this seemed like such a good surprise you with a lot of new writing, but in truth, it was harder to look at the requests and see the names I’d taken and found trying to assign them myself was a little tricky, because I suddenly realised I couldn’t choose.

So instead, I’m now presenting it to you.

Now, this being said, I did post my posting schedule for here which goes right up to October and I still have a lot of requests to write, but these will be written in between when I’m stuck for ideas and need a little blurb or drabble to keep me going. So please keep it in mind.
