Cécile McLorin Salvant “Mélusine”
Nonesuch Records, 2023 Po ubiegłorocznym, genialnym “Ghost Song” mało kto spodziewał się tak szybkiej premiery kolejnej płyty Cécile McLorin Salvant. Tymczasem miesiąc po wydaniu nominowanego do tegorocznych Grammy (i moim zdaniem zasługującego bezdyskusyjnie na otrzymanie nagrody) albumu, Artystka pojawiła się w nowojorskim The Bunker Studio na Brooklynie by zarejestrować nowy…

Chris Sutton reveals France’s TWO weaknesses ahead of England clash
Chris Sutton reveals France’s TWO weaknesses ahead of England clash
France are favourites to overcome England. (Photo by Francois Nel/Getty Images) Chris Sutton believes England can exploit two weaknesses within the France team when the two teams face off in the quarter-finals of the World Cup. Didier Deschamps’ side are favourites to progress to the last-four in Doha, given their status as World Champions. Added to that, the French have arguably the world’s…

okay hear me out... corruption
specifically in the Francois Deschamps, corrupted to love the unlovable. melded into something Other by an unknowable existance.
or slaughter
or flesh
This is a question that ALWAYS bugged me. If Will Graham was in The Magnus Archives universe, which entity do you think he would belong to?

Hoop for Episode 102 - Nesting Instinct, for @est.mendacium, who kindly donated to Food Not Bombs. Thank you!!
"Benoît himself, there seemed to be movement from the ring finger of his right hand. A slight shudder, a shifting of the skin beneath his fingernail. A small patch of darkness seemed to grow just below it, expanding until it resolved itself into the shape of an insect. It pushed itself smoothly and quickly out from below his fingernail and dropped down onto the bar, scuttling away and out of sight so quickly I lost it almost immediately."
Gosh I love this episode <3 big Corruption feels.

Inspired by this post and relistening to Hive, an AU where the Corruption and Lonely avatars/victims are switched:
Jane Prentiss, so very lonely, abandoned by her friends for being toxic, finds that gradually she starts seeing her world through a fog. She’s noticed less and less by others, and slowly she stops bothering with trying to interact with others completely, locking herself inside her house. She sits in her fog, starting to find it comforting even, the apathy the fog gives her leaves her no room to feel anything else. By the time Arthur Nolan comes by to demand her late rent, she’s embraced her coat of invisibility and detachment, and he finds no one inside the house. Jane even thinks that her apathetic fog of nothingness is so comforting, that she wants others to share in it too. If other people no longer feel, they don’t have to face all those awful negative emotions either.
Naomi Herne was always alone, and she thought she liked being alone, but then she met Evan, and soon she felt loved and loved and loved. She met his family, and they welcomed her into their fold as if she were their own. There was something just the slightest bit off with them all though, a smell that always seemed to follow them, the odd crawling movement underneath their skin when she looks at them out of the corner of her eye. She doesn’t notice it at first but the longer she gets to know Evan and his family, her skin itches more and more. There’s anticipation in their eyes but she’s not sure for what. She’s constantly itchy now, she thinks she even starts to notice odd bumps under her skin that seem to appear, move, and then go away, but that’s nothing compared to how warm and loved she feels with this family. Evan says the head of the family wants to meet her tomorrow. There’s a finality in his statement that makes her think once she meets the head, there’s no going back. She’s not sure she wants to.
Francois Deschamps notices his coworker Benoit has become increasingly bitter about being alone, instead of just sad. No longer does he lament about not having a wife, or cry in the back at the sight of other people’s children, but instead now he’s glowering at those talking about family. And soon the people who come into the bar regularly no longer seem to talk about their children? Their spouse? Did that person have a sister? No, of course not, Francois thinks he would remember that... Benoit has stopped glaring, he seems to stop emoting completely. No bitterness anymore, just a constant flat affect. A customer is talking to Benoit about their bro-. A customer is talking to him.
Andrea Nunis loves traveling. She gets to see so many new sights, new experiences, see the world. People ask about if she ever feels lonely since she’s always by herself when she travels. And she laughs them off, saying she’s never alone, but doesn’t elaborate. She picks up a new passengers wherever she goes. She’s practically her own biome, she thinks to herself amusedly. So many different species, rarely any two alike, and you would think there would be competition between them and that some would try to subsume another, but she is Enough for all of them to have their own niche within her. So no, she laughs, placing her hand on her chest. I’m always with friends when traveling, feeling the termites crawling through her bronchi, the mayfly larvae swimming and being pumped around her body by her ventricles, the carrion beetles feeding on the flesh attached to her ribs. Andrea is their home, and they are her dearest traveling companions.

Real Madrid star Karim Benzema to stand trial in sex tape case
Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema will face trial for complicity in an attempt to blackmail in a case linked to a sex tape featuring his former France team-mate Mathieu Valbuena, French prosecutors said.
The public prosecutor’s office in Versailles, France said on Thursday the trial was ordered against the player for complicity in attempting to pressure Valbuena, who was allegedly threatened in a phone call in June 2015, with the publication of the video.
He will stand trial on the charge of conspiracy to attempt blackmail, the prosecutor’s office said. A date for the trial has yet to be set.
The 33-year-old Benzema, one of the most talented French forwards of his generation, has been banned from the national team since November 2015 because of his suspected involvement in the scandal, despite consistently performing well with Spanish giants Real Madrid.
The investigators who charged Benzema believe he was approached by a childhood friend that year to act as an intermediary and convince Valbuena to deal directly with the blackmailers. Instead, Valbuena informed the police.
Four other people will also stand trial in the case. Benzema denies any wrongdoing.
“This decision is as much absurd as it was predictable,” Benzema lawyer, Sylvain Cormier, told The Associated Press news agency, denouncing perceived “persecution” against the player.
When the story broke, Benzema faced a deluge of criticism and then-Prime Minister Manuel Valls said the former Lyon player had “no place” in the national team. Former French President Francois Hollande was quoted as saying in a book that Benzema was not an example of morality.
Neither Benzema nor Valbuena was selected by coach Didier Deschamps for the Euro 2016 finals on home soil in which France were beaten in the final by Portugal.
Benzema has not played for France since scoring twice in a 4-0 win over Armenia in October 2015, taking his tally to 27 goals in 81 internationals.
He has scored more than 250 goals for Real Madrid and won four Champions League titles with the Spanish club.
