I can’t say enough about Lawrence Arabia.  I have two records - “The Sparrow” and “Absolute Truth” and neither get old.  While this is chamber pop, Lawrence Arabia always puts a smile on my face, and leads me to actually concentrating on the music.
So, James Milne (Lawrence Arabia) has decided to do a 2018 Singles Club and then combine them all onto an album in 2019.  So, this is the mother of all preorders since you actually won’t receive the physical product until 2019.
“Solitary Guys” is the first single.  Among the many bands I think of when I hear Lawrence Arabia, The Heavy Blinkers, Francis Plagne, Thunderegg and The Divine Comedy are the first to jump to mind.

I was looking on Darla Records to see if they released the Pregnancy cassette from yesterday’s post.   Darla has a lot of the Lost and Lonesome releases.  So, while trying to think about Pregnancy I was totally sidetracked when I saw this release from Francis Plagne (Melbourne, Australia).  While the website mentions Paul McCartney,  and Harry Nilsson, my starting point would be The High Llamas.  From there I would add Busman’s Holiday, Jens Lekman, Lawrence Arabia and Forever Pavot.
Really, check out Darla’s catalogue.  This might be one of the unsung American distributors.  I think this LP only costs $12!
