since each new group of streamers has arrived on the island in a different mode of transportation and they’ve already done the 3 most normal and common forms of transportation (train, boat, plane) heres a list of different ways i think new groups of streamers could arrive on the island in no particular order:
- a second plane (you know exactly why this one is here)
- a submarine washes up on the beach
- a spaceship crashing, with the streamers being astronauts
- another spaceship but this one is like a ufo and the streamers are either aliens or were abducted by aliens
- giant 18 wheeler truck
- circus caravan
- any kind of novelty brand vehicle like the planters peanuts nutmobile or the oscar meyer wienermobile
- those pink kids toys barbie jeeps
- a duck boat that got really really lost during its tour of boston
- a fleet of bikes like the tour de france or something
- the streamers are running a marathon
- a bunch of those swan shaped paddle boats
- a transformer, but the giant mech is never acknowledged or remarked upon, except for when they drop off the streamers and they’re like “thanks bumblebee!” and the he just fuckin leaves
- they just walk out of the sea somehow
- launched out of a trebuchet
- on horseback as cowboys herding a bunch of cattle
- the scooby doo mystery machine
- in the mouth of a whale like jonah or pinocchio

New Cruise Ships Coming in 2025
The popularity of cruising keeps going up and up and to meet demand, cruise lines from across the world are building new and exciting ships.

Disney:
Disney is having a busy 12 months, and the first ship we’re going to look at is due to enter service just before we ring in the new year. Disney Treasure is a 144,256 gross ton cruise ship under construction at Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany. The ship is a slightly upsized version of the Wish class cruise ships first introduced by Disney in 2022.
The ship is said to have an adventure theme, with the iconic Disney main lobby dressed in an Aladdin theme aboard this new ship, as well as a main dining venue themed for the Disney-Pixar film Coco.
Disney Destiny of the same class will join the fleet 11 months later, in November 2025, while the giant Disney Adventure will enter the cruise market in December. This ship is interesting as it is a Global class cruise ship that was originally laid down for Genting.
Disney picked the ship up after Genting’s pandemic cruising collapse, and the hull was towed from the MV Werften yards to the Meyer Wismar yards to be completed for Disney. At over 208,000 gross tons, she will be the biggest ship for Disney yet.
Mein Schiff:
March 2025 will welcome the brand-new Mein Schiff Relax a 160,000 gross ton ship of the Intuition Class, which is a brand-new design for owners TUI Cruises.
This giant cruise ship is under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone – the first ship for this brand to be built there – and is much bigger than her fleet mates – the largest of which is 121,000 gross tons.
The ship breaks the TUI Cruises naming convention, doing away with the numeral suffix (1,2,3 etc.) and adding the word Relax. Powered by LNG the ship will offer cruises primarily to the German market with a capacity of 3,984 passengers.

MSC:
April 2025 will see the introduction of a giant cruise ship for MSC, with the 205,863 gross ton World America joining the fleet.
As the second ship in the World class, the ship is actually, smaller than her fleet mate by around 10,000 gross tons. Nevertheless, she is a huge ship, and has accommodation for 6,760 people! True to her name, the ship is being designed to reflect America in her design, with over 20 bars and lounges.
The ship is under construction at the iconic Chantiers de l'Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire, France which has a long history of building gigantic passenger ships including the iconic Normandie, SS France, QM2 and four ships of the Oasis Class!
Norwegian:
Norwegian Cruise Line is also welcoming a new ship in April 2025 with the third instalment of their Prima class and is expected to carry 3,571 travellers.
The 156,300 gross ton Norwegian Aqua is under construction at Fincantieri Marghera. Referred to as a Prima-plus class, the ship is several thousand gross tons larger than the two existing Prima class ships – Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva.
Norwegian Aqua will bring the NCL fleet up to twenty ships, and although very large ships, she does not eclipse the four of the Breakaway class cruise ships that NCL already operate.
The Prima plus class offers ample open deck areas, lots of windows with views of the ocean and an infinity beach outdoor pool area.

RCI:
Royal Caribbean is welcoming the next instalment in its gigantic Icon class with the August maiden voyage of Star of the Seas. This massive ship will be one of the worlds’ largest, with berths for 5,610 people in double occupancy or a mind blowing 7,600 in maximum occupancy!
Under construction at Meyer Turku in Finland, the ship has a price tag of 1,7 billion euros. She is powered by LNG and has over 40 eateries and numerous cabins designed for large families.
Star of the Seas is due to cruise from Royal Caribbean’s popular Port Canaveral hub in Florida.
Virgin Voyages:
September 2025 will see Virgin Voyages will welcome Brilliant Lady, the fourth ship for the brand. At 110,000 gross tons, this class of ships have proven popular with travellers, featuring a high number of balcony cabins and ample suites.
Under construction at Fincantieri, Sestri Ponente, Genoa, the ship will be making a series of maiden calls across New York, Miami, LA and Seattle from late 2025 and early 2026. The ships carry 2,620 passengers looked after by 1,150 crew and is 912 ft.
Princess:
Princess Cruises will welcome their giant Star Princess in September. The 175,500 gross ton ship is of the same class as the Sun Princess and offers accommodation for 4,300 travellers.

Celebrity:
And finally, Celebrity will introduce the next in their Edge class with the November 2025 arrival of Celebrity Xcel. This ship will feature many of the amazing features that the Edge class is known for – including a wonderful central martini bar, ample restaurants, the magic carpet and a lots of infinite veranda cabins. This ship is being built at Chantiers de l’Atlantique with the first keel block laid in June 2024. She will accommodate 2,918 travellers.

What I admire about VF's podcast roster is that the shows coalesce around similar themes, so the audience's expectations are met. Remember the CW TV network before it got acquired by Nexstar and essentially disemboweled in 2022? The CW was the home of young adult entertainment from Riverdale to The Flash to Supergirl. Viewers knew to expect, and the network actively recruited these viewers.

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of Brazil recalled his ambassador to Israel on Monday, as tensions escalated between the countries over the Brazilian leader’s sharp remarks against Israel’s war on Hamas.
Mr. Lula summoned the ambassador, Frederico Meyer, back to Brazil “for consultations,” according to a statement from the country’s foreign ministry.
Israel’s foreign minister, Israel Katz, reprimanded Mr. Meyer on Monday about comments in which Mr. Lula compared Israel’s actions in the war to the Holocaust.
“What is happening in the Gaza Strip with the Palestinian people has no parallel in other historical moments,” Mr. Lula told reporters during the 37th African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, on Sunday. But, he then added, “it did exist when Hitler decided to kill the Jews.”
Also on Monday, Mr. Katz said Mr. Lula was not welcome in the country until he takes back his remarks.
Citing “the seriousness” of statements made by Israeli officials, Brazil’s foreign minister, Mauro Vieira, also summoned the Israeli ambassador for a meeting in Rio de Janeiro on Monday, according to the statement.
Mr. Lula’s recall of his envoy does not represent a permanent rupture in diplomatic relations, as Brazil’s Embassy in Israel will remain open. But the discord does highlight a growing rift between Israel and countries that have been reluctant to align themselves in support of its military action in Gaza, most notably South Africa and Brazil.

French luxury billionaire nears $7 billion deal for Hollywood talent giant CAA, home to Brad Pitt
Francois-Henri Pinault is pursuing Creative Artists Agency, which also represents his wife, Salma Hayek.

French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault is close to a $7 billion deal to buy a majority stake in Creative Artists Agency, the Hollywood talent giant that’s home to actor Brad Pitt and basketball’s Chris Paul, according to people familiar with the matter.
Pinault, whose family controls a luxury goods empire, is seeking the majority stake held by private equity firm TPG Inc., said the people, who asked not to be identified because the deal hasn’t been announced. Temasek Holdings Pte, the Singapore government’s investment firm, may also increase its stake in CAA by buying out China’s CMC Capital, the people said. While the deal could fall apart, the parties are expected to conclude negotiations in the next couple weeks.
The $7 billion valuation of CAA marks an increase from the $5.5 billion placed on the business last year when it acquired rival agency ICM Partners. Pinault, 61, is seeking one of Hollywood’s most stable and powerful institutions at a challenging time for media deals. Valuations of most media companies have slipped due to the collapse of pay TV, rising interest rates and strikes by writers and actors.
Yet the Pinault family sees CAA as a way to invest in the value of celebrities, and may be able to use some of those famous faces to bolster its other businesses. The family is the biggest shareholder in Kering SA, the owner of Gucci and other luxury brands. The Pinaults also control the auction house Christie’s and wineries via a holding company. Pinault’s wife, actress Salma Hayek, is represented by CAA.
Founded in 1975 by partners including Michael Ovitz and Ron Meyer, CAA has grown into the largest agency in Hollywood. It’s a top representative of actors, directors, writers, producers, athletes and musicians. Bryan Lourd, Kevin Huvane and Richard Lovett have run the agency since the mid-1990s when they were known as young turks. All three are expected to remain with the company.
Major Hollywood talent agencies have all raised money over the last decade to expand into new businesses. Endeavor Group Holdings Inc. has been the most aggressive, buying Ultimate Fighting Championship, Professional Bull Riders and, most recently, World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. Its talent agency, WME, now accounts for about a third of sales and profit. United Talent Agency, the third-largest firm, sold a stake to Swedish private equity firm EQT AB last year.
Rumors about CAA’s future have swirled for years because private equity firms don’t typically own companies for years and years. TPG first invested in CAA back in 2010 and acquired a majority stake in 2014. CAA hasn’t expanded as aggressively as Endeavor. It has focused on its core talent representation, as well as corporate consulting. It built one of the largest sports agencies in the world.
As part of the deal, the company may give agents with equity the chance to sell a small portion of their shares, according to the people, and will ask a select number to sign new contracts that will keep them at the firm for the next few years.

B-BUT LAURENT IS BLACK!
In the movies Laurent appears quite different to his description in the books, being dark skinned and having dreadlocks, but in fact Laurent, in the books, is a white European from France.
In the books Laurent is described as an olive skinned, dark haired vampire with a French accent. He came from a minor aristocrat family and was a courtier, a member of the court of King Louis XVI, and had an adulatory mentality, a fashination for power and status that made him BEG to became a vampire, unlike most of the other characters, who never gave consent to the transformation, Laurent desired to became a vampire to gain more power among his peers. Laurent joined James and Victoria's coven after being rejected by Volturi for being untrustworthy (Laurent tried to enter in the Romanian Coven first), so he decided to team up with James as a way to became stronger and gain influence in vampire community, so he would get another chance to join the Volturi.
In fact, Laurent was one of the worst characters of the Saga: he isn't really loyal to anyone except himself and always searched the company of more powerful individuals in order to gain a higher status and position both in human and vampire community.
With the Mormons idea of dark skin as a sign of evil and sin, seems very problematic that the only black vampire is actually a traitor and a very manipulative person with a low morality.
In a 2018 interview the director Catherine Hardwicke, who shot the first movie, told The Daily Beast that the one point of contention between herself and Meyer was “that I wanted a lot more of the cast to be diverse, (but....) She said, 'I wrote that they had this pale glistening skin!'”
Hardwicke said that Meyer eventually came around to the idea of Kenyan-American actor Edi Gathegi playing the character Laurent, but she thought it was because he was "one of the antagonistic vampires." For this reason, some people think Meyer would only agree to cast a non-white actor if they were to play a villain, and this could be true, but it's also true that most of European vampires are evil or at least moral ambiguously murders (out of metaphor the Volturi are a representation of the Catholic Church, which system of believes are considered deeply wrong by Mormons/Cullens), while the American-born Cullen (except for British Carlisle, who is the son of a pastor, and the Denali coven, the other group of vegetarian vampires in Alaska) are the good ones — even if Jasper is a Confederate soldier. However, the explicit “white washing” caused by vampirism to some-what positive characters is more relevant than the fact that Twilight is full of evil white characters too (which are, as I said, a metaphor for other type of organized christian religions).
Stephanie Meyer in her“The Twilight Saga: Official Illustrated Guide” wrote that vampire pallor is part of the transformation new vampires undergo that beautifies them as their melanin drains away, resulting in their white skin.
In fact, in the first chapter, in which she describes the physical characteristics common to all vampires, Meyer wrote:
In the Twilight universe all vampires were originally human. As vampires, they retain a close physical resemblance to their human form, the only reliably noticeable differences being a universal pallor of skin, a change in eye color, and heightened beauty.
More orver the typical vampire pallor is not attribuite, as traditional thrope impose, to the fact that vampires are dead, recalling the repulsive look of a corpse, but to an element of crystalline, supernatural form of beauty, which is described as following:
The common factor of beauty among vampires is mostly due to this crystalline skin. The perfect smoothness, gloss, and even color of the skin give the illusion of a flawless face.
So, dark skinned or deeper skin toned people will have very light olive skin as vampires. In fact the only creature who keeps a natural dark-skin is Nahuel, the vampire-human hybrid (born to a white European vampire and a indigenous woman), who is described having “dark brown skin”, while his Aunt Huilen, a full-indigenous woman has “an olive tone to her pale skin” due to being a vampire. Let's see more examples in the book where this “white washing” effect of vampirism is more explicit:
Vampires in Stephanie Meyer's books are white and pure because Mormons believe people who are not white will be white in heaven. I can't 100% remember the reason or events but during some event they think God turned some people black because they either betrayed him or Jesus. So when you are a good person and go to heaven he will remove that. If you look into what Mormons believe it's almost as crazy as scientology.
Ok, apparently, Mormons think black and dark-skinned people are in some way descendants of Cain, who was banished from human community and condamned by God to a nomadic life. However, God was pleased by blood sacrifice (God favored Abel who killed animals for God, while Cain offered the products of earth he cultivated) and gives Cain a mark, known as “Mark of Cain” (Genesis 4:15). This mark of Cain is God's promise to offer Cain divine protection from premature death with the stated purpose of preventing anyone from killing him. Bible does not identify the exact nature of the mark God put on Cain. Whatever it was, it was a sign/indicator that Cain was not to be killed (but also a warn that helped others to spot him as a murder to not trust). Some propose that the mark was a scar, or some kind of tattoo (Maybe this is the source of Tattoo Prohibition in Leviticus 19:28). Whatever the case, the precise nature of the mark is not the focus of the passage. The focus is that God would not allow people to exact vengeance against Cain. Whatever the mark on Cain was, it served this purpose.
However, Brigham Young, one of the founders of Mormons and one of the earliest leader, described black people as cursed with dark skin as punishment for Cain’s murder of his brother. “Any man having one drop of the seed of Cane in him cannot hold the priesthood,” he declared in 1852. Young deemed black-white intermarriage so sinful that he suggested that a man could atone for it only by having “his head cut off” and spilling “his blood upon the ground.”

One cannot look back on 2001 R&B/hip-hop without paying homage to the fits, the fits, the fits! Designer monogrammed wigs, bedazzled denim from head to toe, the occasional inexplicable trend (Nelly, looking at you), and, of course, Destiny's Child never leaving the house without three glamorous variations of the same fabric.
"[Hip-hop fashion] was creative and custom," says Derek Lee, former stylist to R&B icon, Aaliyah. "It wasn't driven totally by designers, you could still show up with some street stuff and it'd be acceptable." Lee, who styled the beloved singer from 1996 to 2001, pioneered the "sensual tomboy" aesthetic, central to today's fashion landscape, and evident in the wardrobes of R&B stars like Ciara, Teyana Taylor and Rihanna.
Lee recalled his own customizing experiences, adding glitz to streetwear pieces for the late singer. "We were flying to Paris and I'd be bedazzling Enyce sweatsuits for Aaliyah," he explains. Lee paid homage to fellow stylist June Ambrose for her work with Missy Elliott in further establishing the craze surrounding bedazzled pieces.
Ambrose, who styled over 200 music videos, was Missy's right-hand woman, costume designing for every major Missy Elliott production including "Get Ur Freak On," "The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)," "One Minute Man," and "Lose Control." She was a go-to designer for R&B/hip-hop heavyweights including Diddy, Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige and Mariah Carey, and currently works as a creative director for Puma.
"We didn't have a point of reference that came before us," explains Ambrose. "We took the risk for the future." The "Rain" designer discussed the role of late '90s to early '00s designers as trailblazers, bursting through barriers between high-end labels and R&B/hip-hop culture. "I bridged high fashion with urban music," says Ambrose, "What felt so rebellious was taking a high fashion piece, and still keeping the same demeanor and swag that you wore in your neighborhood."
Dionne Alexander, the hairstylist behind Lil Kim's monogrammed wigs and Mary J. Blige's '90s updo's, agrees. "Look how free we are here," Alexander says. "It was very exciting, we were able to be extremely creative and we had to pull it from within. We didn't have Instagram, we had to go out and get magazines.
Tre Major, hairstylist to legendary celebrities including Aaliyah, Mary J. Blige, Patti LaBelle and Naomi Campbell, says the early '00s was "the best" era for fashion and hip-hop. "I was like an architect on the outside," Major explained. "Building the visuals, landscaping and making it gorgeous." Major was responsible for ushering in the lace-front wig into the world of R&B/hip-hop. "[The other stylists] were just geek because they never seen anything like it," says Major. "Now you can find a lace front wig on every corner, every boutique, every website."
On the 20th anniversary of this iconic, enduring year in fashion, Billboard caught up with the architects of the era, June Ambrose, Derek Lee, Tre Major and Dionne Alexander, to discuss some of the most memorable looks in '01 R&B/hip-hop and how these moments shaped the culture for decades to come.

In '01, rhinestones were all the craze, and we have June Ambrose to thank. "It was all about making Missy a rock star," says Ambrose. "I got her hooked on rhinestones -- and once that happened, forget about it." The 200-time music video stylist says the glittering look from Missy's Dave Meyers directed video was meant to create a dichotomy between Elvis-like glamour and sportswear. "The jean jacket silhouette was very comfortable and relatable to her, but taking a Bootsy Collins over the top approach is what made it really tangible and special."

Aaliyah's Dapper Dan-designed faux Chanel catsuit from the "More Than a Woman" video is one of the late singer's most iconic moments. "I knew that it was going to be a feature, that it would be striking, if it was different from anything she has done before," says Lee. The decision to choose Chanel was a step away from edgier brands like Dolce & Gabbana and Roberto Cavalli, which the sweet singer was typically dressed in. But why not have Chanel design the piece themselves? "[The major brands] didn't want to be associated with rap music and this street culture," explains Lee, "That's why we had to create our own stuff or have it knocked off by [Dapper] Dan." When Aaliyah saw the design, Lee says she was feeling it. "I had decided to move Aaliyah into almost a cartoon character," he tells Billboard. "I was going down to Little Tokyo and getting all these anime books and had this entire idea."

Monogrammed tresses have popped up on the heads of the rap's most iconic first ladies, including Nicki Minaj and Cardi B -- but similar to countless other signature hip-hop trends, it started with Lil Kim as the blueprint, and hairstylist Dionne Alexander the architect. "The inspiration totally comes from [Lil Kim] and who she is," says Alexander, the mastermind behind Lil Kim's Versace wig and equally iconic blue Chanel wig. "It was such a flow of creative energy, like a power that was coming through."
Alexander recalls coloring the Chanel wig Lil Kim wore for Manhattan File Magazine late into the night, until 5:00 in the morning. "I went to the art store and got trace paper and created the logo, then I cut it out." And her secret? Black magic marker. "With the Versace wig," Alexander says, "She called me and left this message on my machine that I literally kept for years. She went nuts, and it was the same with the Chanel."
Alexander says the present-day response to both wigs is surprising. "It's more of a buzz now than it was then. I'm so shocked at how many people call me about it now."

The evolution of men's fashion in hip-hop is inextricably linked to the genius duo best known as Outkast. The pair defied longstanding tropes of how rappers were expected to present themselves and sent the media into frequent frenzies, with their delightfully shocking red carpet looks. In the "So Fresh, So Clean" music video, the eccentric Georgian duo rock a myriad of hairstyles, from a sleek, flipped perm, to a combed out, asymmetrical afro.
"That's some Southernplayalistic s--t right there," says Lee, in reference to the pair's '01 look. Alexander says Andre 3000 and Big Boi "revolutionized male confidence" through their unapologetic expression of creativity. Of Andre 3000, Major says, "He took a real gamble and went for it, just being his true artistic self and everyone loved it."

It was the dress seen (and read) around the world. Macy Gray, a performer known for her unconventional style and music, decided to transform her award show dress into a walking billboard. "That was totally Macy's idea, I just had to execute it," says Ambrose, the designer of Macy's immortal dress. "Working with Macy Gray was so much fun because she was an anomaly," Ambrose remembers. "In that moment, it was important that she sold albums, and she had she wanted to capitalize on the moment. It's like, where's the return on the investment? I'm getting hair and makeup and spending money on wardrobe. Is it gonna help me sell records? We wanted to just make sure that it did."

There are few things more memorable about the late '90s and early '00s than DC3's coordinated looks. Whether it was award shows, music videos or MTV appearances, you caught the trio out and about without perfect coordination. "Tina Knowles strikes again," says Ambrose, of Beyonce's mother and the group's resident designer. "Utilitarian was such a celebration of being tough and dominant," Ambrose explained. "It showed females in military can be sexy, that it's not just a man's game." Major drew comparisons to another always coordinated, ever-influential girl group. "Every time I looked at them, I saw the modern day Supremes," he said. "Everyone wanted to follow the camouflage trend."

There are countless rumors circulating the World Wide Web about the explanation behind Nelly's little white Band-Aid and criss-crossed headbands. But regardless of the backstory, Nelly's creative face accessory was all people could talk about. "He created his own thing, like a left-eye kind of moment," says Major, who remembered considering rocking a Band-Aid himself. Ambrose says the bandage symbolized a "thug badge of honor," as iconic to Nelly as eye black is to football players.

Before Alicia Keys arrived on the scene, cornrows and beads were seldom seen in mainstream music. Ambrose, who styled Alicia in the early years of her career says the pianist extraordinaire's team always kept her identity in mind. "We wanted to always keep a sense of that New York girl and celebrate all the things that that spoke to her Blackness," says Ambrose. Not only was Alicia's hair aesthetically striking, it also played a roll in representation of Black women's natural tresses. "Universally, it told other young Black girls and it's okay to wear your braids and your beads," explained Ambrose. "That this isn't a Bo Derek moment, this is an African moment."

"I gave her edge and femininity," says Major. "I named that wig the Marvin Martian," Major says of Mary's salt and pepper avant-garde wig, a nod to the Looney Tunes character. Major says he custom made the wig on the R&B diva, since her head was "so small" compared to the mannequins. "She was the best muse because she was so daring," he explains. "She trusted me."
