okay. having been made aware that most people dislike more characters than me, i need to try to do this. who are tv characters i don't like??? who? who??
boat guy on ted lasso. a concept and not a person. a concept designed to torment me and crush all my dreams. an avatar for all my dead dreams. if he'd actually become more of a character, like as a series regular or something, i would have probably grown to like him, because i'm weak. but in our reality, i can hate him forever.
jack from lost i always really hated, and i still do, but in a way where i almost like him because i hate him so much??? like, it's hilarious and special to me how much he sucks, and how consistently, always. jears forever.
jess mariano, but that's just because gg fandom has driven me crazy over the past 20 years in that regard, hyping him up so much, and i'm a hateful crone. technically he is fine.
christopher hayden is pretty bad. yeah, i think i can say with confidence i dislike christopher hayden.
extremely ashamed to report that i have sort of developed an occasional soft spot for dean forrester in my old age. awful! i'm not proud, okay! but i'm being honest.
i do hate rupert from ted lasso. but like. i don't think i get a prize for that one. that's an extremely easy dude to hate.
oh. i lowkey kinda hate nigel from cbs ghosts. i apologize, but i do. i think isaac could do better. i wish he would go for the australian stripper dinosaur enthusiast from the most recent episode. wouldn't it be hilarious if they decided to kill that lap dancer so he could become isaac's new boyfriend? i should write this show. it would be stunning and universally beloved and full of murders just to expand the friend group.
this has really gotten away from me.
wait!!!!! helene from killing eve! was that her name? i really didn't like her! she bugged! to me, she had too much screentime! (the actress seems very cool though, no offense to her.)
i am kind of bothered by joel mchale's character in animal control specifically because he's so identical to jeff winger in mannerisms that i just feel like jeff winger abandoned his greendale family and started a new life as an animal control man in seattle. i don't like this feeling. i just want to scream, "go back to greendale, jeff! i know frank isn't your real name!!!!" at the screen every second. does this count as disliking a character?
BOAT GUY 😡

Ribs: A Roy Kent Story
Series: Ribs Pairing: Roy Kent x OC Summary: Natalia Forrest and Roy Kent grew up together, with both growing dealing with child stardom, they grew apart. But now, with Natalia being minority owner of AFC Richmond, will these two find each other again after all these years? A/N: I'm seeing a severe lack of Roy Kent fics across most platforms. I'm serving my boy JUSTICE. -Also I'm madly in love with @peterpparkrr ‘s Roy Kent story Banter, it's so incredibly written and I foam at the mouth for each update! || Series List ||

(i got this gif off of google-- can't find credit!!)
Chapter 1
“Right then,” She said with a satisfied smirk, “I believe everything is squared away.”
The man in front of her, Rupert Mannion, held a smile, something patronizing and sinister lurking beneath, “Pleasure doing business with you, my dear.”
“I’m sorry, but I do believe your fiance is the one who was doing business with me,” The raven haired woman responded, quickly turning to the much younger woman to his right and shaking her hand, “It’s been a pleasure, my darling. Do take care of that precious little girl of yours!”
And with that, the woman slung her bag over her shoulder, and spun around, her curly locks flipping over her shoulder, “Toodles!” she sang as she swayed out of the room.
“I can’t believe I just sold my own share of a football club to Talia fucking Forrest.”
— One year Prior —
Normally, Natalia wasn’t a nervous person. Rather, she was the type of woman to make others nervous. Yet here she was, clicking her heels across the hard floor of AFC Richmond’s clubhouse, her heart hammering in her chest. Rebecca Welton had sold her some shares of AFC Richmond right after her divorce to royal dickhead, Rupert Manion, making her a minority owner of the club; and as much as Natalia loved football and Rebecca, she was nervous about running into someone in particular.
Her wavy black hair fluffed out around her face, her thick black sunglasses hiding her green eyes. She glanced around her as she made her way towards Rebecca’s office, the hallways buzzing with excitement and gawking glances as she would pass. God, can this walk take any longer, she thought as she ascended the stairs to Ms. Welton’s office, Finally. With a deep breath, Natalia gripped the handle and walked in, offering a small knock as she opened the door. As she opened the door to her office she was greeted with a seemingly very flustered Rebecca in a plush robe, an always frazzled Higgins, and a face she hadn’t yet seen before. Rebecca stepped to the side and lit up when Natalia entered. “God your tits are amazing,” Natalia blurted, eyes going directly to Rebecca’s chest. The gentlemen both cleared their throats and seemed to look anywhere but her chest. “Right, sorry.” “Talia Forrest,” Natalia introduced, reaching out her sharply manicured hand out to the stranger, “minority owner, semi-successful child star turned rock enthusiast and entrepreneur, pleasure.” “Well hi there, I’m Ted Lasso, fresh face on this side o’ the pond,” the man named Ted greeted, his American accent startled Natalia for a moment. The warmth of his voice melting right into her heart creating a soft comfort to her. “Rebecca, you smuggled an American over here?” Talia laughed, a light jab at the two of them. Rebecca laughed nervously, eyes shifting toward the men and back to Talia. “I’m fucking with you, love,” Natalia soothed, “But I do think it’s high time for you chaps to be off, toodles!” She ushered the men out of the door, closing it behind them.
“So,” Natalia sighed, flopping back into the cushions, arms draping over the back of the couch, “I guess this is what all my money has gone to. This gorgeous office and this wardrobe?”
Rebecca’s cheeks flooded with embarrassed blush fiddling with the rack of terribly expensive gowns. Natalia clicked her tongue and got up from her spot on the couch and walked over to Rebecca. She reached up and held onto Rebecca’s face. “You look at me, you tall, strong, impeccable woman,” Natalia said sternly, “You are fit and worthy, these dresses are bloody well lucky to be hugging that gorgeous body of yours. Now let's find the one, yeah?” Rebecca let out a shaky breath and nodded her head, “Thank you.” She whispered, before shaking it off and standing a bit straighter. “Do you want a drink, love?” Natalia asked, making herself comfortable at the minibar in Rebecca’s office.
“A glass of wine, please,” Rebecca nodded, holding onto a golden dress. After pouring herself a whiskey, she handed the wine glass over to Rebecca. “That’s a gorgeous gown, but she’s wearing you, love. We can do better than that, yeah?” “God, why is this so difficult?” Rebecca sighed, a soft whine underneath. “Honestly, woman,” Natalia groaned, rolling her head back. “You’re right, I’m sorry– It’s just–” Rebecca rambled, “It’s just that Rupert–” Natalia got up from her spot after slamming her drink, and stomped her way towards the taller blonde woman.
“Rupert is a right slimy cock, Rebecca. It’s about time you knew it,” Talia said forcefully. “You no longer get to let him dictate your life. This is your event, and you deserve to be the goddess that you are.” She began to shift through the dresses on her own. “Here,” Natalia said matter of fact, “This one will blow everyone away, plus it shows off those sexy arms of yours.”
Rebecca held the gown up to her, admiring the fabric. A sigh of relief and an emptying of a wine glass, and Rebecca seemed to be a whole new woman. A curt nod and she placed the dress in a garment bag. “Right,” Rebecca smiled, “I actually called you here to ask if you would like to be my plus one to the charity gala tonight?” Natalia growled, flinging her head back in exasperation, “Rebecca, you know I don’t–” “Please, Nat,” Rebecca begged, “It’s for the children…” Nat curled an eyebrow and crossed her arms, “Rebecca…” “Nat, this is my first time doing this without Rupert, and I’m just so bloody nervous! Plus, you’ve been a minority owner, it’s about time you show your face around here.” “You know I don’t fuck with the press,” Nat responded firmly, her brows furrowed deep over her eyes. She softened after a moment, “But… I will go to support another incredible woman.” Rebecca’s eyes lit up and she squeezed the smaller woman into a head-popping hug. “Thank you,” Rebecca sighed. “Suppose I need to pick a dress for the night, then,” Natalia quipped while shooting her a pointed look.
Later.
Cameras. So many fucking cameras were flashing, Natalia hated it. She stepped out of the car behind Rebecca, leaving her big sunglasses on. Her hair was styled to look even more wild than natural. She wore a forest green off-the-shoulder gown with a slit up the skirt that went all the way up to her hip. Her tattoos and scattering of freckles covered her pale skin. She made her way towards the red carpet, following Rebecca. As she made her way toward the line for photographs, Natalia was shouldered rather hard by another person walking by. “Oi–” “Watch it!” The two voices barked in unison. Green eyes locked with brown. Natalia could have sworn her heart leaped into her throat and then directly plummeted into her lower belly. The man that towered before her, straightened up a little more. His all black suit caused him to look even larger than he was. “Hi, Roy.”

Know Me
I think you can get to know a person pretty well when you know what their preferred media to consume is. And I guess in an effort to let a couple people here know me better, I have made an unordered, inexhaustive list of movies, TV shows, and books that I really liked. I know I've left some off, especially the books list. There are a lot of books and movies I've enjoyed but these are ones I'd repeat, some over and over and over without ever getting tired of them. I didn't include any music or visual art here, because that's too hard to list and it's too mood dependent. Maybe I'll make a musical artist list some other time. Anyway here you go.

BIOGRAPHY.
tw: death, accident, divorce
his childhood was a happy one, for the most part. he was the oldest of three boys living in small town west virginia. his father was strict but not cruel, and his mother was nurturing and sweet. both parents loved their children. it was unfortunate that love didn't spread to each other. or at least if it did, it didn't last.
divorce wasn't the end of the world, worse things could've happened but it still was a rift in the otherwise fairly normal childhood forrest had up until that point. he didn't like having to choose to live with one parent or another. in the end he stayed with his dad where beckett had stayed because he didn't want to leave him.
his brother was his best friend, sure he had other friends but forrest was an awkward kid that wasn't ever sure how to talk to people or how one made friends or anything else. the people he did have in his life that weren't bound to him in blood he couldn't tell you why or how they ended up there but he was forever grateful for those friends.
he tried his best to split his time between his mom and dad, but it was hard. more often it ended up in regular phone or video calls with mom, spending holidays and summers with her and his brothers and step-family. that's when his guilt started to grow, trying to be in two places at once. it was hard to ignore.
his dyslexia made school difficult to say the least, but he did his best. not the best at sports, he joined the basketball team but spent most of the time on the bench. he made it to graduation for the sake of his parents, siblings, and if nothing else, to say he did it.
after school he travelled a bit, went to spend some time with his mom and see something outside of huntsville for once. it was out there that he met his first real love. noah was everything to forrest for awhile, he was a glimpse into independence, another life, and filling a void of what was lost when his family split apart and siblings went off to do their own thing. it was short-lived, only a year until it all came crumbling down and noah died in a freak motorcycle accident.
after that, forrest made his way back home. with beckett deployed and still grieving, he found himself doing the same thing he'd done back when he was younger. he worked on cars. it was therapeutic to him in many ways, just fixing things in general, when he was younger he helped his uncle build and fix cars all the time. it just stuck with him. this eventually led to him working at, then buying pete's garage after it was rebuilt.
when the storm came he'd only been home for a year, it was terrifying and honestly he sometimes questions how he survived at all. for the first few years it felt like that's all he was doing, surviving. but when beckett came home and later beryl showed up, it was relieving to have family back. and to have his best friend back. but he's always felt guilty being happy they're there because now they're cursed too.
these days he does his best to help out around town wherever he can, hunts during seasons, and primarily wants to be there for his siblings. and hopefully, find a way out of that town or fix whatever happened so things can go back to normal again.... someday.
QUICK CONNECTIONS.
childhood friends
exes
people he fixes things for
clients at the garage
employees at the garage
people he doesn't get along with
close friends / confidant
HEADCANONS.
forrest is dyslexic so he's slow with reading in general, beckett helps with the paperwork at the garage because of that.
despite being sort of a pacifist before the paradox, he comes from a military family and knows how to handle firearms and other weapons quiet well. that is why he opted to help with hunting when it came down to it.
he still wears a necklace with an ' n ' on it that he'd bought when he was with noah.
more coming soon to a theater near you

Jukebox January Day 28: soundtracks
Yes I've fallen off the Jukebox January wagon yet again, but I've been looking forward to this prompt because I love listening to soundtracks! I have a massive playlist (like 40+ hours) and I mostly use it to study, read or focus, but not only.
There are so many that I love I'm not sure how to organise this post, but I'll try.
There are composers that have composed several soundtracks that I like. Some more old-ish/classic/iconic ones include John Williams of course (you know who he is, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones and so many more), John Barry (if a film is from the 80s and vaguely outdoorsy, it's probably him (Out of Africa, Dances with Wolves, Born Free...), Ennio Morricone (italian westerns, The Mission...), or Yann Tiersen (anything european with piano music, like Amélie Poulain or Goodbye Lenin). I haven't even seen some of those movies lol, I just love the music.
Some composers have composed the music for movies that you wouldn't necessarily associate, it's kind of funny. Like Henry Jackman made the music for X-Men first class and the Winter Soldier, but also Puss in Boots for some reason (the Puss in Boots soundtrack is an unexpected banger btw). Alan Silvestri made the Avengers and Captain America soundtracks but also Forrest Gump and Back to the Future. Talk about an extensive career. Alexandre Desplat also composed some cool soundtracks, like the Shape of Water and a bunch of Wes Anderson movies.
I'm also a big fan of the Doctor Who soundtracks, there are so many seasons now and yet the music is never repetitive while still making clever callbacks through themes and motifs. It must be such a massive undertaking and I think it's done beautifully, all the characters and creatures have such distinct themes that I adore, and the atmosphere is also established through the music (for example the time period, etc.). The composer was Murray Gold for more than a decade, and now it's Segun Akinola, who I think is doing a good job of continuing his legacy (I'm quite behind on Doctor Who stuff so I've only really listened to series 11 from him but I like it).
I also love the music from Ghibli films, most (probably all? I haven't checked) were composed by Joe Hisaishi. I love many of them but I have a particular soft spot for Kiki's delivery service <3
There are some soundtracks that I know because I've played them in my brass band. Soundtracks are some of the fun fun things to play in my opinion, more accessible than full-on brass band music but less repetitive than pop songs (which I find kind of annoying to play, and the arranging is sometimes pretty bad lol). Some of the ones I remember playing are Braveheart, Band of Brothers, Planes (yes, the Cars spinoff lol, I haven't seen it but the music is weirdly good) and Dances with Wolves and the Magnificent Seven.
I also have to mention the Visitor from the Future (le Visiteur du futur), my first (fandom) love, I bought the CD when I was 16 and the main theme will be engrained in my heart forever.
Then a bunch of miscellaneous films that I think have great soundtracks: Il Postino, Brokeback Mountain, Eddie the Eagle, Blancanieves, How to Train your Dragon and Luca.
Some TV shows as well: Anne with an E, Outlander (even though I'm a whimp and never got past the end of season 1 lmao, but the music is nice), Torchwood (even though the track titles could have been a little bit less spoilery, I listened to the soundtrack before watching season 2 and that was a mistake let me tell you), Agent Carter, Good Omens, Ted Lasso and The Witcher (at least season 1, I think the soundtrack for season 2 is weirdly pretty bad?). Hannibal and Killing Eve also have pretty distinctive musical atmospheres.
I don't really play video games, but some of them have great soundtracks, like Skyrim, Mass Effect 3, Outer Wilds and Undertale (I listened to so much Undertale music when I was studying for my high school diploma, now it's forever associated with that period in my brain).
Sometimes I like when classical music is used in soundtracks, if it's done in an interesting way. Particular shoutout to Beethoven's 7th symphony which I think was made for cinema, even though it was obviously composed before cinema was even invented. It was used in the King's Speech, for example (and also in the visitor from the future lol).
Lastly, I want to mention some movies and shows that have great soundtracks made from pre-existing songs: Palm Springs, Hot Fuzz, Derry Girls, Our flag means death, Russian Doll, the San Junipero episode of Black Mirror and Pride (yes I love 80s music lol).

As part of my ongoing agenda to turn Quincey into a cross between Forrest Gump and a kind of one man League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, I now present Quincey’s past adventures prior getting involved with the events of Dracula (all largely thought up on the spot):
Quincey is a good friend of Sherlock Holmes and has assisted the detective on many cases. By Quincey’s own request, John Watson omitted him from his writings to avoid “drawing too much attention”.
Quincey tried to find the lost treasure of Captain Flint, but was disappointed to learn that someone else had already claimed it a long time ago.
Quincey once helped a strange old gentlemen subdue a group of “doll-licks” and some time-displaced morlocks.
He has fought Robur the Conqueror on numerous occasion, to the point that the latter considers Quincey to be his archnemesis.
In Paris, he investigated and later confronted the so-called “Phantom of the Opera” after the latter kidnapped the opera singer Christine Daaé. For security purposes, Quincey’s role in the events was kept secret.
He tracked down and destroyed a copy of the notorious play The King in Yellow.
Quincey took part in an attempt to slay The Terrible Dogfish off the coast of Italy.
A year before the events of Dracula, Quincey rescued one Edward Prendick from being ravaged by wild Beast Men on an isolated island.
In South America, Quincey discovered a plateau that contained a group of still-living dinosaurs. He decided it would be best to not tell anyone what he discovered (he still took time to lasso a T. Rex though).

Wednesday, November 8th: Free wifi
Coming at you again from Palmy's to recap yesterday and today:
The current outfit: black spaghetti strap midi dress over a white t-shirt, white veja sneakers, white "Yes, Chef" ballcap. No makeup. No jewelry.
Have been enjoying more and more time in my "public office" thanks to the ridiculous amount of mariachi music coming from the construction next door.
Not that I have anything against mariachi music. Oh wait. Yeah I do.
Yesterday: I made gourmet crab fried rice with bell pepper, egg, bok choy, and yuzu mayo. Also got some kooky Christmas ornaments in the mail.
Stefan from SNL
Ted Lasso
A botox needle
In Dolly we trust bulb
Rolling stones mouth with a psychedelic tounge.
Also went to bar trivia with Kyla, Kelly, Jenna, Dallce, and Matt. The DJ had it in for me and I chugged three dark beers before calling Erik Berg and having an H to H in the uber home. My uber driver probably knows more about my sex life than my therapist. God bless Erik.
I used kitchen whiteboard for a favorite movie quotes poll:
Mine: "What, like it's hard?" - Elle Woods, on getting into Harvard to fuck her ex
Hannah's: *Po-tay-toes!* Boil 'em, mash 'em, stick 'em in a stew... - LOTR
Makenna's: "Life's like a box of Chocolates - you never know what you're going to get" - Forrest Gump
Annnnd now we're caught up. These days, even when I'm bad I'm still pretty good.
