Things to look out for

Attack Charge:

Formula E has been trying to debut Attack Charge for quite some time now. And whether the series will be successful in doing so remains to be seen. This Thursday afternoon, however, Formula E will host an Attack Charge 'race'.

The dummy race will be 24 laps long while 8 minutes of Attack Mode will also have to be taken.

Gen3Evo, AWD, Tyres:

With the Gen3Evo Formula E debuts a new car this season. The test at Jarama will be the first public test outing for the car.

The new car will have AWD, which is something new for the drivers and teams to get to grip with. AWD will be used in the 350kw mode, so during Attack Mode and during the qualifying duels.

Hankook has also come with new tyres after numerous complaints from drivers the past two years. And the Gen3Evo will have new, more robust bodywork

Female Test:

Formula E will host a test on Friday afternoon for female drivers. Each team was mandated to run at least one female driver but most opted for running two.

Many big names will be behind the wheel of which one has previously driven in Formula E. Simona de Silvestro competed in Formula E in the series's early years.

This won't be the first female test either as Formula E has previously hosted one back in 2018 in Saudi Arabia. Where drivers like Flörsch, Chadwick, Visser, Schreiner, Calderón and De Silvestro also attended.

Cost Cap

Nissan and Jaguar will be missing the first session as a punishment for breaching the cost cap in 2023

okay lots of post-minotaur thoughts. i really should’ve liveblogged but Whatever, these are very disorganized because i’m hopping in-between different parts of the movie as well as the 3d celebration zatsu

i think a lot of folks have picked this up: this is the vtuber bo burnham inside

the entire time i watched this i was like “man how come i can’t have an expansive mind palace to roam within”

bc uhhh. idk if this is the same for you or anyone else out there. but when i think about myself doing something it’s in first person, never actually my imagination conjuring up a Unit 4402 doing the something

and that sidetracked me so hard during how to get away with murder bc MAN i wish whenever i had mental breakdowns over my character i could imagine myself as a quirked up unit 4402 with a little bit of swag busting it down sexual style while i have 4 clones of myself goated with the sauce

i’ve never seen the joker but i’m pretty sure the how to get away with murder dance is vtuber joker dance

it is so awkward watching the post 3d zatsu rn and seeing people in chat miss the point

especially bc i think the thing that most got to me and affected me was the classroom scene. such a relatable foundation, especially for people like us, the nightmare of Being Wrong in front of everyone else and an authority who are in the loop and you’re the only one out

like. that’s actually insidious. incredibly effective way to deliver the ugly parts of the job: who doesn’t want to know everything about what they love even if parasocial. i’m sure we can all recognize the boundaries of how to interact with streamers and i do hope if you’re on my blog it’s with respect to the streamers, but the intrusiveness, lack of privacy, goddamn. the conditioning of vox sitting at the desk as soon as he can

also oooooh. i get it now. “sometimes i wonder what it would be like if i didn’t care all that much” is a driving line for the film. everything that unfolds is a consequence OF caring too much and just enough. the fact that the bed’s been made and he has to lie in it. by the end this line doesn’t matter because he’s learned to accept his nature. and if you wanted to get paradoxical he’s learned to not care about that line

the second i saw the text for Inside A Demon’s Soul (Whenever Vox Akuma Devours A Human Soul, This Is Where They Go) i paused. sat there. and laughed so hard because that is maybe the easiest meme format i’ve ever seen in the the same way as everything everywhere all at once rock scene. put a white shape over the text, write down the time stamp. now you have a banger man standing that follows the standard top text bottom text base formula

idk what to say about the hug. it’s very needed. and from fuu of all people who understands integrating lore and streaming, understands the divide, pretended to beef with vox only to become one of his close friends, i really can’t imagine it with anyone else

do you guys think box tenshi is Apathy. i think i’ll need to sit on it for a bit but i’m seeing some threads about how tenshi is what happens when that takes over and vox chooses not to care about the people he’s hurt for his own comfort. after all his character is entirely on balancing the little delights and missteps of humanity, and the nature of a predator demon. i’m sure i could elaborate later on

should i, like, be critical…? because i do have things that i’m critical about, but this was a very delightful watch and it’s changed me fundamentally

i like vtubers because of the balance between fantasy and real and this movie very much does cater from that. all media requires the suspension of disbelief but with the way minotaur is delivered it kind of toys with Suspension of Disbelief as in-verse environment, too. fandom, anti, and collective opinion are their own characters in this movie and that just cannot be captured in a medium like fictional, scripted entertainment, you know… it’s very bo burnham inside. but the difference is that inside is everyday people would assume these expectations. as vtuber watchers we’ve full-on experienced the good and bad ourselves. i mean… how many times have you said your opinion on vox online. seems someone act weird in chat. i write fanfiction, i contribute to expectation too because i participate in fandom. that’s just the natural effect of being an internet personality, so the least we can do is be respectful of it and be critical of ourselves so we can maintain that respect to each other and the streamer

but i guess that’s preachy of me vox illustrated the point on his own wonderfully

Lucifer Rewatch Liveblog: 1.03

OMG if I don’t liveblog an episode tonight I’m going to be so distracted and upset so ep 3 it is! I have no idea what episode it is! And neither the title nor the description is enlightening me lol S1 really went in one ear and out the other, didn’t it?

And because I haven't said it yet, I do enjoy that the episode titles are lines of dialogue. It does nothing to help me remember what title matches what plot but it does provide me with an easy-to-replicate formula for fanfic chapter and story titles which I am always grateful for *tips my hat in thanks to the writers*

Ah right, recap. Cause we definitely need a TWO episode recap before moving on to the third episode ever of a show. *skips*

I can't decide if I hate fake out cold opens or if I'm neutral towards them. But I'm pretty sure I don't love them. Because I’m well trained on them so I always know they’re fake -- but is that the point? Is wondering what the real explanation behind the scene the real hook?

Oh the scene got interesting again when this woman accused Lucifer of stealing his own identity ROTFL I have no memory of this subplot

The look on Trixie's face is that childishly fiendish grin of delight that says ‘Maybe I gave him your number when he asked. Maybe he found it on his own. Either way I’m thrilled by this development.’

(Though, not because she has designs on making Lucifer her stepdad because she was definitely trying to get Chloe and Dan together again two seconds before this. I’m pretty sure she thinks she and Lucifer are already besties and just likes the idea of her bestie hanging out with her mom so they can all be besties.)

I mean, really it would be 249 suspects wouldn't it? Cause one of the suspects is in fact the murder victim? So that’s one less person for you to question, Chloe! #helpful

Since it's just case stuff, this seems like a good time to say -- I really like Dan and Chloe as exes. Their romance was utterly obliterated by Dan’s pre-series betrayal but their friendship remained and I adore that. And not just as co-parents either! They stayed genuine friends with each other!

I maintain that Lux can stay high end if it wants, but it needs to be about 1000 times gayer. He's the fucking Devil for pete's sake. This whole show should be 1000 times gayer.

The singer for whatever song is playing in the background of this fixer scene sounds exactly like the singer of the credits song for Ghostbusters 2016.... I can't decide if I care enough to go investigate if it is the same singer, though.

First, 'I squeezed too hard' should never be a problem because you should never have your hands around someone's neck. That should never be one of your anger responses. There’s no excuse there.

Second, 'I'm out of here'? After admitting to murder in front of a cop??? That agent was a bit delusional too there, wasn't he?

Oo, very much enjoying Chloe keying into Lucifer feeling guilty for Ali's death even though Lucifer still isn't self-aware enough to acknowledge that.

And the therapy session after with Linda, too. See? This is the kind of character growth that I wouldn't care about if I was starting from the pilot because I don't care about Lucifer yet. But watching it AFTER watching the later seasons and very much caring about Lucifer? Yeah, it's brilliant. It's meaty stuff! I love it!

It's six seasons of baby steps that build on each other so much that the S1 characters wouldn't recognize themselves in S6. They wouldn't even recognize themselves in S2! And yet those character differences are never a flaw in the show. It's all natural character growth instead. Amazing.

I can't relate to their day-to-day lives (especially Lucifer's) but damn do I have a lot to learn about writing from this show.

And now I can fall asleep happy tonight because I saw my blorbos :) Specifically, I saw them in their natural environment and not the captivity of fanvideos because apparently there's a difference when it comes to my happiness vs depression levels? I never registered that before this show. (Though, I've also never struggled with embarrassment over rewatching full episodes of my favorite show before Lucifer. Obsessively rewatching a show was a normal hyperfixation response. I still don't know why I've been fighting myself on it lately.)
