Anybody seen a crawfish that looks like this?? I live in southern Missouri and I’ve never seen one this color or even close to being orange.
Why is this?? I’m stumped.

I did not ASK this episodic kids show to remind me about how growing apart is a part of growing up and how sometimes you have to keep your memories but say goodbye to the people you made them with because friendships don’t really last forever but it’s not sad it’s just reality and I’m feeling REALLY SAD ABOUT IT
#craig of the creek#cartoons#this show really knows how to hit my feelings when it wants to#like it’s all about childlike wonder#but doesn’t stray away from the reality of aging#cotc#cotc spoilers#heart of the forest

ok serious opinion on the new ep: it's really good if just for the gags :D i kinda like how the new episodes are more comedy-oriented bc it's a nice break from the Emotional Torment that season 5 gave me. the gang just gets to be silly <3
#s5 gave me emotional torment because it hit too close to home for me 😭craig is so insanely relatable man#stayed up late finishing the heart of the forest arc and i was crying like a baby at 1am cuz of it#craig of the creek#cotc#toman napitupulu#raccoon speaks#creek rambles

jesus christ. good fire mitigation does NOT mean eliminating every green thing near your home, especially if you live in a grassland or semi-arid area, holy fucking shit. like yes. you are reducing the fire load if there's a really hot fire passing thru your area. but you're also drastically increasing the likelihood of fire in the first place by drying out the soil and increasing the ground temperature in the first place. AND you're increasing your energy expenditure on cooling while ALSO REMOVING ORGANISMS THAT REDUCE CO2 CONTENT IN THE ATMOSPHERE AND COOL AIR TEMPS (also a fire reducing tactic. by y'know. cooling things off AND KEEPING THE SOIL MOIST).
like, there are possibly places where removing vegetation near homes is a good idea. parts of california and desert border areas may be good examples of this. but please for the love of fuck if you don't live in a desert don't remove living vegetation that's near your house, unless it's part of a carefully considered brush-clearing operation in like. an urban and urban-interface space. please for the love of fuck have nuance about these things. I KNOW people are running scared because of the horrific fires that have been raging due to hundreds of years of land mismanagement (due to colonialist genocide and exploitative capitalism). but there is a lot of information being spread around like a one-shoe-fits-all-ecosystems, and that's just not fucking true.
#soooo many assholes rubbing their hands together trying to make money off people's fear its really unfortunate :(#pomodoriwhines#like#CONTEXT of place is ESSENTIAL when you're talking fire safety and prevention#controlled burns are great! in SOME ecosystems. but like controlled burning where i live (riparian creek river valley) is damaging when it-#--isnt done in the right place (uplands). and even then it's not really a good management practice bc the whole area used to be forested#ARGHHHH...... its complicated so it makes it REALLY difficult to communicate good info to laypeople.#like. it all comes down to where you live!!!!!!!#and telling people to chop down vegetation actively endangers them by increasing fire risk and temperatures on the ground!#AND REMOVES INCREDIBLY VALUABLE HABITAT FOR WILDLIFE? LIKE. BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR#this asshole was like 'oh its ok because human are part of the ecosystem and we have to have our safety needs met' and its so disingenuous#because YES we are a part of ecosystems and YES safety of people does need to come first#BUT YOU CANT BUILD IN A PLACE THAT IS SHAPED BY FIRE WITHOUT THAT RISK. AND DESTROYING THAT ENVIRONMENT DUE TO BAD PLANNING#IS STILL FUCKING HABITAT DESTRUCTION!!!!!!!! AND LYING TO PEOPLE IN THE FIRST PLACE THAT IT'S 'SAFE' IS ALSO SHITTY AS HELL#BUT YOU KNOW HOW LAND DEVELOPERS ARE. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT PEOPLE OR ECOSYSTEMS. HAHA. FUCK!!!!!!#<- sorry lost the plot there. im just pissed

#I look like I got chewed on by the forest from the waist down#scrambling up roots#scrambling up rocks#scrambling over like 75 massive fallen trees#pushing through brambles#fording the creek#there was literally no trail#but I did get a workout in so yay

I'm personally a rock.
do you think that a certain genre of queer person is so obsessively weird about pride flag discourse becuase their flags fill the gaping hole in their personality where a hogwarts house used to be
#if this became a thing i am gonna scream#also i am that rock in a forest next to a creek#there's mud over me and small crystallised something in my body#also there's a orange smear of iron#i like the different colored quarts in the water and mushrooms in the moss

Tell me why I got here at 8am on a weekday and the entire gravel lot for the small “secret” trails (there is an entire giant state park shebang down the street) has completely filled up with out of town cars. I hate it here everyone leave my town NOW
#all the rich bitches from silicon valley work from home now and have nothing better to do than make life hell for the people who live here#down the mountain was always touristy because of the coast and up the valley was always touristy because of the National park but can#locals have literally anything ever just for once#mostly they’re all dicks + think I’m homeless + don’t know how to park or drive + treat the town like they’re personal playground#FOR TWO YEARS#I have not been able to even get to my old spot I used to go every day because there are cars parked ON THE CLIFF ON THE SIDE OF THE ONLY#ROAD IN TOWN and there is nowhere to park to get to it#THEY LITTER THEYRE LOUD THEYRE OBLIVIOUS THEY DRIVE ALL THE PRICES UP#GO TF HOME FOR THE LOVE OF GOD THE ENTIRE STATE IS FOREST#don’t even get me started on them going off trail and not knowing how to do it and causing horrible erosion issues so bad that multiple#trees fell explicitly because of it. or building fucking DAMS in the RIVER AND CREEKS that I have to take it upon MYSELF to fucking take#down because they destroyed the fucking fish nests like these fish aren’t endangered enough!#AND GET YOUR FUCKING DOGS IN LINE#YOUR SPOILED PANDEMIC PUPPY CAN NOT BE DIGGING HOLES IN A PROTECTED ENVIRONMENT
