Miraak headcanons because I have brainrot. Take the food.
When he gets exposed to mead again he acts like he's not interested but the LDB eventually finds him sampling meads he hadn't had in centuries. Miraak has to build his tolerance back up but he enjoys the taste all the same.
Miraak would be very quiet while on the road. You'd see him just looking around, taking in the sights and sounds he'd almost forgotten. Though he'd wish bears didn't attack them so much. He finds them neat.
He was taken in by the cult as a young child so he doesn't remember much about his birth family besides his brother Vahlok.
The dragon priest Krosis acted much like his guardian, keeping an eye on him, scheduling his training and getting him out of trouble. Being a former master thief, he taught Miraak a few thing or two in stealth.
Labrythian would be a place he'd recognize the most and it'd give him some mixed feelings. Not that he'd vocalize it himself. In Bromjunaar he might wander to find where he used to sleep at one point. He wouldn't talk about it right away, but it'd be obvious it'd be kind of getting to him.
Nords wouldn't look at Miraak funny, since to them, he'd look like what some nords would aspire to be. Miraak finds it funny considering he's Atmoran but he lets them think he's just a tall nord.
Attraction wise, Miraak didn't really have a preference. In his youth he'd never stick with one concubine for too long. They'd bore him after a while and he'd crave someone who could hold an intelligent conversation. However there were hints he had an affinity for elves. He says his cult made of dark elves was just coincidence.
The imperialization of the Nordic pantheon had always made him quietly disappointed. He'd refuse to use any other names than what he was raised on.
Talos was a controversial topic at first, Miraak couldn't fathom how a dragonborn after him became a god instead and then became important to Nords. The other Ysmirs would make sense to him to a capacity. Heimskr in Whiterun had no idea that he'd be on the verge of being shouted across the cloud district.
While he's touch starved, he moreso craves the simpler ways of affection. Quietly linking his fingers with his s/o, hugging from behind and cuddling before passing out in bed.
Camping is a guilty pleasure for him because the ambiance at night makes it easy for him to sleep. Silence makes it hard for him to get drowsy so he'd often leave windows cracked if he has to sleep indoors.

BG3 Verse v. [the blacksmith of Baldurs.]
Tumblr media
Backstory and Lore:
Cyrus Leonhardt was born to a lineage of legendary blacksmiths in Baldur's Gate, a city teeming with adventurers, traders, and a rich tapestry of cultures. The Leonhardt family, known for their exceptional craftsmanship, had been forging weapons of unparalleled quality for generations. Their greatswords were especially renowned and sought after by warriors and nobles alike.
From a young age, Cyrus was fascinated by the forge. He spent countless hours watching his father, Dolion Leonhardt, transform raw metal into exquisite weapons. Holiday Spirit Part 2
You can find part 1 here!
Whumptober Prompt Used:
Day 14 (ALT): Shivering
Finding a restaurant that everyone could agree on was surprisingly effortless. Steven had not been overly concerned about his staff, as they typically enjoyed similar food and often dined together. However, he was uncertain about the preferences of others. Fortunately, everything fell into place seamlessly. Siebold had conducted thorough research in advance, and with the assistance of Lucian and the Sinnoh League's familiarity with the city, the decision was made effortlessly.
Steven had dined at the restaurant in the shopping district multiple times with Cynthia. The upscale establishment offered a diverse menu featuring cuisine from various regions. The location was conveniently within walking distance, which proved to be a pleasant surprise when Malva proposed they walk there. Steven found it curious how Phoebe had begun shadowing Diantha, though he couldn't pinpoint when or why it had started. As they walked to the restaurant, Steven couldn't help but wonder about the dynamics between Phoebe and Diantha. He made a mental note to ask Phoebe about it later.
As Steven observed the various groups mingling, he couldn’t help but notice the dynamics at play. Glacia and Bertha were engrossed in a deep conversation, while Sidney and Flint seemed to be up to something that made him uneasy. Aaron, on the other hand, appeared to be anxious in their company, prompting Steven to make a mental note to keep an eye on them. Knowing Sidney it could be any number of things.
Meanwhile, Drake and Drasna were discussing dragon types, their conversation piquing his interest as they strolled along. The rest of the Kalos members remained clustered together, with Diantha falling back to join him, Lucian, and Cynthia.
As they entered the restaurant, Steven couldn't help but notice the elegant decor and the soft ambiance that enveloped the space. He took a moment to appreciate the attention to detail in the design, from the intricate lighting fixtures to the plush seating arrangements. Steven felt a sense of comfort and familiarity wash over him as he settled into his seat, eager to indulge in the culinary delights that awaited him. At least, he would be if he felt well enough to.
Now, as they gathered around the three tables that had been pushed together, the group delved into a discussion about their upcoming plans. Steven, however, found himself preoccupied with a gnawing ache in his stomach. Despite not feeling hungry, he knew better than to skip dinner, especially with Cynthia likely to fuss at him about it.
“Are you okay?” Diantha’s concerned voice broke through his thoughts. Her eyes were bright with worry, prompting Cynthia also to express her concerns.
“You’ve barely touched your food.” Cynthia put her chopsticks down and turned her attention to Steven.
Feeling the weight of their gazes on him, Steven reluctantly admitted, “I’m just not really hungry.” Great. Everyone was staring at him now. Why couldn’t he just not be hungry without the others making a big deal out of it? He breathed a wary sigh.
Most of the table seemed satisfied with his response, but Diantha and Cynthia continued to watch him closely. Lucian’s subtle interest in their conversation didn’t go unnoticed by Steven, who felt a sense of relief when Diantha finally accepted his explanation and returned to her meal.
A silent exchange with Cynthia conveyed their mutual understanding that he would speak up if something was wrong, unnoticed by the others engrossed in festival talk. Steven was content to let them carry on, grateful for the brief respite from the spotlight.
And he was fine with that.
It meant that he didn’t have to contribute as much to the boisterous conversation. This was typical of him, especially when he wasn’t feeling well like he was now. The nausea was bearable at the moment, but he knew it would worsen if he tried to eat. But he needed to. As he stared at his plate, he felt an unusual chill and suppressed a shiver. Trying to distract himself from the cold, he took a bite of his salad, only to curse silently as his hand shook.
The rest of the meal passed without incident. As expected with a large group, not everyone wanted to do the same thing. They split into smaller groups to explore the city. He found himself drawn to Cynthia, whether intentionally or not, and let his shoulder brush against hers. Lucian and Aaron joined them, followed closely by Drake.
“We’re heading back early,” Cynthia explained with a small smile.
“That sounds good. I have a bit of a headache and Aaron wanted to train with Scizor before the exhibition.” Lucian nodded, turning to Aaron and adding “Did you still want to train with Bronzong?”
“Yeah. That would be good. Thanks.” Aaron nodded, tugging at his jacket sleeves.
Steven’s eyes narrowed slightly as he observed the exchange.
“Do you really think I’ll let you win that easily?” Cynthia challenged Aaron, her eyes sparkling with anticipation. Without waiting for a response, she turned and squeezed Steven’s hand before leading him away. But Aaron wasn’t ready to give up.
“This time we will win!” Aaron declared confidently. “Now that Scizor can mega evolve, there’s no way we can lose!” Suddenly, he had an idea and grabbed Steven’s shoulders. “I know! Can we train with Metagross?”
“Aaron,” Cynthia reprimanded firmly “I doubt that Steven wants to help you train. He’s probably tired from traveling.”
Steven took a step back and suppressed a sigh. He didn’t want to seem rude by declining, but he was really tired. Training with Aaron sounded like the last thing he wanted to do. “I apologize, but she’s right. I’m pretty tired from the trip. Perhaps tomorrow?”
Aaron nodded in understanding, stepping aside, and redirecting his attention back to Lucian. Steven grimaced as his stomach twisted uncomfortably, the small amount he had eaten weighing heavily on him. The others resumed their conversation and Steven was content to listen quietly once more. He tried his best to focus on the warmth of Cynthia’s hand, though he couldn’t feel it through his gloves, rather than the discomfort in his stomach or the slight dizziness he felt.
He jumped when something cold landed on his nose. He ignored Cynthia’s snickering as he furiously wiped away the west sensation. It took him a moment to realize that it was snowing. The fluffy white flakes danced through the air in the gentle breeze.
“It’s freezing out here!” Aaron’s voice interrupted Steven’s thoughts, sparking a sense of amusement in him. The young trainer’s tone reminded him of Phoebe.
“Aaron,” Lucian reprimanded gently, causing Aaron to huff and sulkily mutter an apology.
“Are you cold?”
Cynthia’s voice was soft as she directed the question towards Steven. He knew from the tone it was meant for his ears alone. He had been feeling this strange chill since they left Hoenn, a sensation he found strange but had not dwelled on. Steven nodded in response, knowing they were nearing the league and he would soon be warm again. Hopefully.
However, the overwhelming lights and sounds merged into a cacophony that he was unaccustomed to. A headache was beginning to form in response. He hadn’t expected the city to be so busy. It seemed busier than the previous year. The pain in his head served as a distraction from the gnawing nausea in his stomach. As they continued to walk, the pain in his side only intensified, and a sense of unease crept over him. Something was wrong.

💕Sell Out Tactics💕
Tumblr media
(TW: Suggestive posing images, vulgar language, not abiding to neither the canon nor fanfic canon series)
〚 Tiny Short 〛
Rasshu glared at the kimono set that Gyutaro held out to her. It was black with a gold fabric trim, something that the demon knew his fiancée would love but he knew that this would be easy… The antsy hashira’s hands twitched as her eyes darted around the room but Gyutaro had boarded up everything before trying this stunt; They both needed the funds to get his food without killing people and Rasshu just wasted money buying a huge hotel in the entertainment district… now leaving her without funds for most things until her next mission!?
Rasshu backs up against the wall as the large demon trudges up and over with an eerie expression. And then with a foul swoop, the once stern and headstrong hashira was reduced to a embarrassingly pretty mess! Gyutaro decorated his woman with oils and perfume; glitter and gleam; and stolen jewels.
The boarded up room was lit with a yellow hue coming from the lit candles. The ambiance was warm as Gyutaro was positioning Rasshu’s body in a provocative way as he began to set up an old camera. With a grin, he snapped his first pic!
Tumblr media
(After a few pictures, the tinies chewed through the wooden boards and began to cause their own special havoc)

From vibrant festivals to historical monuments, Gujarat offers a kaleidoscope of experiences for those eager to immerse themselves in the essence of Indian culture. One of the jewels in Gujarat's crown is the city of Bhuj, located in the Kutch district, where tradition and history come alive in a mesmerizing blend.
Tumblr media
Cultural Diversity in Gujarat:
Gujarat reflects the diversity of India, with its vibrant tapestry visible in every nook and cranny of the state. The state calendar is adorned with a plethora of festivals, like Navratri, Diwali, and Uttarayan, which vividly display the enthusiasm and zest of its people. The state is also home to several traditional art forms, like the Garba dance, which comes alive during Navratri, and the intricate craft of Patola weaving.
As you traverse the cities and villages of Gujarat, the architectural marvels narrate tales of a bygone era. The stepwells of Adalaj, the intricately carved temples of Palitana, and the historic Sabarmati Ashram, where Mahatma Gandhi spent a significant part of his life, are testaments to the rich history that Gujarat holds.
Homestays in Gujarat:
To truly understand and appreciate the cultural nuances of Gujarat, consider staying in a homestay. These accommodations provide an immersive experience, allowing visitors to truly connect with their way of life. In cities such as Ahmedabad and Vadodara, you can find homestays that offer a friendly atmosphere and are often managed by enthusiastic families who share their traditions and stories.
Bhuj:
When exploring the cultural kaleidoscope of Gujarat, a visit to Bhuj is a must. Bhuj, the capital of the Kutch district, is a treasure trove of cultural experiences. The city has embraced the concept of homestays, offering travelers a unique opportunity to reside with local families. This not only provides a comfortable stay but also an insider's perspective on the customs and traditions of the region.
Whether you're interested in the intricate art of Kutch embroidery or the age-old tie-and-dye techniques, staying in a homestay in Bhuj allows you to witness these crafts firsthand. The warmth of the host families ensures that your stay is not just about accommodation but a cultural exchange that leaves a lasting impression.
Kutchh Courtyard:
For an unparalleled experience, consider staying in The Kutchh Courtyard homestay. These homestays were created to give guests a peek into the region's architecture. Visitors have the opportunity to discover the spices and cooking methods that distinguish Gujarati cuisine. This knit dining experience encourages a sense of connection with the delicious food and the individuals who generously impart their rich culinary heritage.
Festivals and celebrations:
If your visit coincides with one of Gujarat's many festivals, you're in for a treat. The joyous atmosphere during Navratri, with its lively Garba dances and colorful attire, is infectious. Diwali, the festival of lights, transforms the cities into a twinkling spectacle, with families coming together to celebrate and share sweets.
Participating in these festivals while staying in a homestay provides a deeper understanding of the cultural and religious significance behind the celebrations. Your hosts might extend an invitation for you to partake in the celebrations, offering you a chance to create lasting memories that surpass the tourist encounters.
Conclusion:
The cultural fabric of Gujarat is a reflection of the vibrant essence that characterizes India as a whole. Exploring the state, from the bustling cities to the tranquil villages, offers a journey through time and tradition. Maeklong Railway Train Market
On a warm and bustling evening, my friend and I decided to make the most of our hour and a half of free time in Sathon, a vibrant district of the city. Not wanting to waste a moment, we hailed a Grab car to take us to our destination. As we approached the area, we could already sense the energy in the air.
Upon arriving, it was clear that we had chosen the right spot for some excitement. The streets were teeming with activity, and the constant stream of motorcycles added to the buzz. The atmosphere was electric, with the unmistakable thump of loud music resonating from various establishments. The lively ambiance was intoxicating.
We began to explore our surroundings, passing numerous bars and tattoo shops that lined the bustling streets. The neon signs and lively chatter of patrons spilled out into the streets, creating a kaleidoscope of colors and sounds.
Our first stop was the main market. Initially, we found only a few clothing shops that offered basic, commercial clothing. But as we ventured deeper into the market, we stumbled upon the food section. It was a treasure trove of culinary delights from various cultures. Feeling adventurous, I decided to try crickets, octopus with spicy salad served in a plastic bag, chicken breaded strips, and soju. The flavors were an explosion of tastes, and the atmosphere around the food vendors was both chaotic and exciting.
Tumblr media
Although sushi was plentiful, we hesitated to try it, as it seemed to be left in the heat for hours. Instead, we moved on, eager to explore more of what the market had to offer. Toward the end of the market, we encountered vintage shops and even a few weed shops. Some of the vintage stores had a westernized feel or offered high-end designer items, but the overall vibe was still cool and inviting.
We decided to take a break in the market's carpark area, where a group of local boys on skateboards approached us, asking for a lighter. Attempting to bridge the language barrier, we engaged in a short-lived conversation in Thai, which resulted in laughter and smiles.
As we continued towards the front of the market, we reached a wide street flanked by bars on both sides. It was clear that they were in competition, each one featuring a live band playing at full volume. The music was deafening, reminiscent of the famous Khao San Road, and the energy was infectious.
As we prepared to leave the market, we passed by more bars, clothing shops, and tattoo parlors. One particular bar caught our attention, or more accurately, our ears. The loud, raw sound of a live rock band beckoned us inside. It was a riveting experience, and we couldn't resist the urge to stay and enjoy the show.
The band played their hearts out, and we joined the crowd in cheering and dancing. The band were crazy, some of the guitarists jumped over the fence onto the road and started playing in the middle of the road despite several cars having to drive around them. It was a night filled with unexpected adventures, new flavors, and a vibrant cultural experience that we would remember for a long time. Sathon had revealed a side of the city we had never seen before, and we couldn't have been happier with our spontaneous decision to explore this lively and eclectic neighborhood.

Unpacking Social Capital in South Philly and Urban Mall Realities
My friend and I decided to go to South Philadelphia to visit a popular restaurant for lunch, Blue Corn. After ordering too much food, we asked for take-out boxes to pack our leftovers in. When the waiter brought us our boxes, we noticed that the boxes had the name and logo of another local restaurant, a small Vietnamese spot just down the street. My friend and I looked at the box in confusion but did not pay much attention to it. It was only after learning about the concept of social capital in class that I came to realize the significance of this mix-up with the take-out box. While reflecting on this situation, I began to realize the interconnectedness of the local restaurant community in South Philadelphia. This instance suggested that Blue Corn may have temporarily run out of their own take-out boxes and reached out to their neighboring restaurant for assistance. This seemingly minor incident exemplified the community's inherent sense of cooperation and mutual support, a prime example of social capital. In this close-knit community, social capital was highlighted by the restaurants collaborating, sharing resources and ultimately having a supportive network among local establishments.
After our trip to South Philadelphia, we decided to go on a shopping trip to the Fashion District Mall. While on our visit, I could not help but reflect on the stark contrast between my mall experience and the description of malls as safe, predictable spaces given by Palen in Chapter 5 of The Urban World. In fact, it was the complete opposite of the mall experience described in the reading and in class. The ambiance within the Fashion District was far from the orderly environment one might associate with malls. Instead, we encountered a chaotic scene with rowdy teenagers running through the mall, engaging in fights, and snatching merchandise from stores. Their disruptive behavior and disturbances created an atmosphere quite unlike the anticipated sense of safety and predictability.
While writing this post, I stumbled upon some interesting articles mentioning that there was a restriction in place, requiring individuals under 18 to be accompanied by an adult after 2:00 PM in this mall. This piece of information shed light on the mall's attempt to address the challenges posed by unsupervised juveniles, but it also raised questions about the effectiveness of such measures (https://whyy.org/articles/fashion-district-minors-accompanied-adults-safety/)
I found myself wondering whether this significant difference was due to the mall's urban location, in contrast to the more common suburban mall setting. It raised the question of whether the dynamics of malls, as spaces designed for comfort and security, might differ significantly when placed within the context of a city or are there other factors at play? For me, it seems as though the  elements that contribute to the unpredictability of urban life seemed to find their way into the mall, challenging the conventional notion of malls as places of safety and security.
