The world is facing some serious issues 🖤 For the release of my climate-protest flavored single "What They Want", I wanted the artwork to be really dark and serious too 😈 I ended up having something more hopeful on the cover in the end, instead of this very black and white shot of me looking deadly serious and angry with those in charge who are letting our planet die 😵 I do feel the climate-anxiety, but I believe that things can be changed for the better and we can all be part of it 💚 What THEY want is to make a profit, what WE want is a healthy planet, am I right? Check me out on Spotify for the actual cover-art for this song and more songs with a look towards a greener future 🤠✌️

“Winter Found Me There” is the second single from Rebekka Lundstrøm’s upcoming third album. Singer/songwriter Rebekka Lundstrøm from Arendal, Norway is playing around in the Americana genre with references to country and folk music. Her two previous albums, “Carousel” (2020) and “Silent Storms” (2022) as well as her two singles “Breathe” and “This Christmas” (both 2021), are heavily coloured by deep melancholy and tell the stories about life’s many battles. Rebekka tells her stories with convincing honesty and vulnerability and with her unique voice she forces the listener to connect to their own thoughts and feelings. Here’s what Rebekka says about her new song: “Winter Found Me There” is a story about a young woman who thought that by travelling far and long enough she could run away from herself. Many years and reality checks later, she goes back to the start just to discover that this is exactly where the road ahead begins. The song tells about personal growth up to a point where you accept reality and make the best out of the cards you have been dealt. There’s also growth in the musical picture in the song where I’ve chosen more uptempo and drive compared to what I’ve done earlier.

Well, listen to the rumble, the rattle, and the roar
She glides along the woodlands, down the hills and by the shore
Hear the mighty rush of engine, hear the lonesome hobo call
Ride the rosin, break a bead on the Wabash Cannonball

One Night On The Side Of The Road
Written for OLWG – #303 In those days, not too far off Route 1, there was an old milk truck that someone had converted into a lean-to shelter. The faded logo of a cow sittin’ on a rainbow could still be made out on the side. Inside were a few improvised plank beds, and right outside of the opening was a large fire pit with the hood of an old car propped up as a heat reflector. Past the road was…
