I had a shrink appointment today and while I could not see it I knew my doc was going through the five stages of grief while I explained my fool proof strategy for doing my t shots despite a crippling fear of needles: By abusing my vastly more crippling fear of being an inconvenience.

My mother and I play phasmophobia together every week. she usually has a pretty limited time to do this bc she's like. a doctor and a college professor whos always busy. So I asked her to just. hold me to doing them. We don't start playing until the shot is done. so my needle fear doesn't matter because now it's Wasting™ her time and I have to do it quick. Using one neurosis to defeat another.

It's a horrible coping mechanism because it's feeding the inconvenience fear, but it is definitionally a coping mechanism.

mysaria being an interloper between rhaenyra and jace.....jace's little angry face at being interrupted AND being left out of rhaenyra's plan. he thought he was her equal! being told about the prophecy meant not having secrets between them :/ but "my ruler is my mother and i do not wish it otherwise" delicious delicious..... jace gotta think rhaenyra is the be all end all because to her eyes he does not lack anything, except he doubts her all the time. and when jace told her "oh don't be ridiculous" i hollered so LOUD. the illusion is broken! just like targ histories are nothing, the authority of the parent and monarch is too. jace knows best :) this season i think aside from his arc as a political actor, it's also a disillusionment arc for jace. not that he believed everything rhaenyra told him, but it's more clear now how deep the wound goes as he sees rhaenyra making mistakes.

So idk if this is a thing y’all are interested in, but it occurred to me I could show you how I go about creating patterns!

This will be a horseshoe crab. The first step was folding a piece of paper in half, for symmetry, and drawing half the front shape of the crab on it. Then I cut that out, drew on lines for where the little darts will go, and cut along those lines (well, I folded the paper back in half to cut the side darts). Now, I’m going to hold those darts slightly open and trace around this pattern piece onto a new piece of paper, because I’m trying out a new (to me) method of adding darts into a pattern without making a mock-up of the pattern first

the voice acting in the current event is saving lives! i feel like i could survive february without another depressive thought. (but i know there are two endings in the cards, one of which is angsty (?), but i’m gonna pretend not to know aha.)
