Reviewing the Drama’s I Have Watched Pt 1
I have seen a few people do this and got the inspiration to do so myself. My rating system goes like this: 1- Did not like, 2- Enjoyed but probably wouldn't watch again, 3- Enjoyed and would watch some episodes again, 4- Enjoyed and would watch again, 5- Loved
Korean Dramas
Bad Family: 3/5
Bad Family is about a little girl who, after a bad accident, loses her entire family and her memory. In order to help her regain her memory, an ex-gangster is hired to create a family of actors to pretend to be her family. I thought the story of this show was interesting and it was really enjoyable to watch. The main couple choice was a little questionable for me, but I thoroughly enjoyed this show. The only reason it gets a 3 is because I see myself re-watching a few episodes but not watching the whole thing over again.
Doctors: 4/5
Doctors is about a woman with a troubled past who grows up to become a doctor to find out the truth behind a medical tragedy in her past. It follows her story as she begins to fall in love with her mentor who helps her open up and become a more compassionate person and doctor. There are many doctors and interns dealing with their own problems as they try to make it in the medical world. It was really interesting and fun to watch, though it can be frustrating at times which is expected from a romance drama. I was telling my little sister about it and she said it reminded her of Grey’s Anatomy so if you enjoy that show you would probably enjoy this one as well.
Flower Grandpa Investigation Unit: 5/5
This was my first Korean drama if my memory is correct. It is about a group of policemen who, while investigating a string of kidnappings, stumble upon an experimental drug which makes a person age years in an instant. It follows the policemen as they try to find who is behind this drug, the cure, and the reason one of their men didn't change. I love investigative shows as you can see from some of the dramas I've watched and this one had that bit of a goofy side that was really great. I have seen this drama quite a few times and still love it so much. It has a wacky storyline and dirtier humor but it was so enjoyable.
Goblin, the Lonely and Great God: 4/5
Goblin is about, well, a goblin who is trying to find his bride so he can finally pass away and move on. He finds himself living with an amnesiac grim reaper and his slightly ditzy nephew who has a few secrets of his own. It follows the Goblin as well as a high school student Ji Eun-Tak, who may just be the bride he was looking for. This show is like a roller coaster with emotional highs and lows, one second you are laughing and the next second you are crying. I really did enjoy this show, the acting was great, the humor was amazing. I guess the couple could be controversial as she is a high school student and he is an adult, but immortal relationships are always so strange to figure out, so I didn’t think much about it and just enjoyed the show. I would definitely watch this show again and still enjoy it.
Golden Bride: 2/5
Golden Bride is about a half Korean, half Vietnamese woman who marries a Korean man and moves to Korea to find her biological father. Meanwhile, many other characters are dealing with their own problems and finding out how they are all connected in this very soapy drama. While I did enjoy this series, I really don't see myself watching it again. Usually, when I fall in love with one drama or an actor, I will look up that actor and check out their other performances. That was the case with this show and I am not a soapy drama type of person. It was good for what it was, and I really did enjoy a few episodes and storylines, but a little too dramatic for my tastes. I knew what I was getting into before I watched it so I wasn't shocked nor do I hate it, I just probably won't watch it again.
Loving You A Thousand Times: 2/5
Loving You A Thousand Time is about a woman who becomes a surrogate mother for a healthy family, she then falls in love with the younger brother of the baby’s father. It's about the struggles of forbidden romance and how much one will fight for love. Like with Golden Bride, I enjoyed the series and watched it because the same actor in Golden Bride and Flower Grandpa Investigative Unit was in this one. I'm not sure which one comes first, but the character for the actor is pretty much the same in Golden Bride as it is in this one, just less interesting storyline wise. It was still pretty good for what it is but I don't feel like I would ever watch it again.
Mad Dog: 4/5
Mad Dog follows a group of five misfits, Kang-woo an ex-cop who lost his family during a plane crash, Ha-ri a former gymnast who is skilled in disguising herself, Soon-jung an ex-thug with a soft side, Nu-ri a computer genius with an allergy to the sun, and Min-joon a former swindler who seems to be somehow connected to the death of the main characters family. The five of them work together to investigate insurance fraud schemes and find the truth behind the devastating plane crash. This show is really great, I found it through a recommended video on Youtube and I’m so glad I did. All the characters are memorable with their own specialties and quirks, a few episodes had me sobbing like a baby and others had me at the edge of my seat. Also, I feel like the ex-thugs nickname is a multilingual pun or a translation error, which would be amazing, but I may be wrong (his nickname is Cheetah and from my studies of Korean, though I’m still very new to the subject, ‘to hit’ is pronounced Chi-Da).
Moorim School: 5/5 (Possible epilepsy trigger below)
Moorim School is about an idol with hearing loss and the son of a rich and powerful man who finds themselves going to a school full of secrets to uncover. They have to learn to get along not only with each other but with their new schools’ curriculum. It includes magic, mystery, and romance. I loved this show so much and the bromance between the two main characters is amazing, I am a sucker for really close friendships. It also has a love square, I am not a huge fan of this but if you enjoy love squares, there you go. I really liked the secrets, the magic, and all the plot twists through some I was able to guess. My main problem with this show is that the ending was super rushed, which is understandable as the series was shortened by four one-hour long episodes from its original length. Because of this, the show has a lot of plot holes, I really wish it had more episodes or maybe a second season but unfortunately that it highly unlikely. I’m actually going to re-watch this show with one of my friends soon and I am so excited.
Shopping King Louie: 5/5
Shopping King Louie is about a rich heir named Louie to a company who, after an accident of mysterious origin, loses all of his memories. He meets a girl, Go Bok-Shil, who comes from a rural town to the city in search of her brother. Bok-Shil believes he knew where her brother is and takes him in, in the hopes that once Louie regains his memory, he would be able to find her brother. This show is definitely on the goofy side and keeps you smiling. I usually am not a fan of romance, but the main couple is so cute and raised my expectations in relationships way too high. Super cute show with a sad undertone. It will make you hungry though, very hungry, you have been warned. Loved this one so much and I’m also about to re-watch this one with one of my friends.
Squad 38: 4/5
Squad 38 is about a tax collector who becomes angry at wealthy and powerful people evading their taxes without consequence, so he hires a young con artist to help him con the wealthy into paying their taxes. This show was really interesting with a lot of twists and turns to keep you drawn in. The dynamics between the character were interesting to watch and the main love triangle was probably one of the best handled main love triangles I have seen in dramas. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will watch again.

210713 IN PHOTOS: All the times Super Junior's Heechul dressed up as a girl
In the K-pop industry, it's pretty common to see male idols crossdress as females for fun. But one male idol stands out among all of them and it's none other than Super Junior's Kim Heechul.
Heechul serves as Super Junior's visual, vocalist, and rapper. Thanks to his amazing yet androgynous features, the South Korean pop idol can claim the looks of both a guy and a girl that would often lead many to say, “He is prettier than me.”
Despite knowing his gorgeous visual, Heechul never lets it get to his head and claims that it's all about confidence.
In an episode of “My Ugly Duckling,” he was quoted to say, “In the end, it boils down to confidence. In my opinion, you don't need looks at all.”
Heechul has portrayed many roles as a beautiful woman since making his debut with the legendary K-pop boy group, making it one of his strongest suits in the South Korean entertainment industry.
From Hee-sica (a portmanteau of his name with SNSD's Jessica) to his portrayal as Seo Ye-ji in an advert for a chicken ad, let's take a look at all the times he's dressed as a woman (and became way prettier than most of us) in this gallery:
Hee-sica
The most iconic look from Heechul would have to be when he dressed up as Girls' Generation's Jessica Jung. He even called himself “Hee-sica” who made its debut in 2009 when Super Junior became guests at the variety show 'Intimate Note.'
Rokkugo
But prior to the debut of Hee-sica, Heechul already showcased his androgynous look when he crossdressed as a lady in Super Junior-T's music video 'Rokkugo.' In the trot music video, he acted as a girl who had fallen for all the members.
Lady HeeHee
During Super Junior concerts, Heechul and the other members sometimes transform into girls. That's why in their third concert, 'Super Show 3,' Heechul appeared as Lady Gaga and called himself “Lady HeeHee.” He even performed “Pokerface” and “Crazy in Love” with members Shindong, Eunhyuk, and Donghae.
Hee-gain
In 'Super Show 5,' Heechul made an appearance as Brown Eyed Girls member Gain and danced to SISTAR's 'Alone.' Just look at that cropped top!
Elsa
Another show-stopping moment for Heechul would have to be when he dressed up as the 'Frozen' character, Elsa in 'Super Show 6' from 2014 to 2015.
Anna
In the following concerts, he chose to dress up as Elsa's sister Anna from the same movie. When asked why the sudden change in costume, he reportedly said that he didn't like girls with heavy makeup and preferred a more natural look like Anna.
Nie Xiaoqian
Heechul boasted his amazing looks by playing the exotic princess Nie Xiaoqian from the popular Chinese movie, 'A Chinese Ghost Story.'
Hee-mi
Whenever he plays his girl counterpart in 'Knowing Brothers,' he always uses the name Hee-mi. Because of his looks, some guests couldn't help but be dazzled by the amazing features Heechul has.
Park Jung-woo
In the 12-episode tvN drama 'Flower Grandpa Investigation Unit,' Heechul played the part of Park Jung-woo, the precinct's golden boy who escapes an aging spell that prohibits him from aging. In one of the episodes, Park Jung-woo disguised himself as a girl for an investigation.
Park Jung-woo

Seo Ye-ji
In 2020, Heechul shocked Instagram when he dressed up as K-drama actress Seo Ye-ji for a chicken commercial. From the hair to Seo Ye-ji's clothes, we can honestly say that Heechul can play any part!
Miwon Commercial
Who needs extras if you can hire Heechul to play both male and female audiences (plus the performer) in this seasoning ad?
Mobile Role-Playing Game Character
Known to be a gamer, Heechul was tapped by mobile game Efun Games to advertise their latest role-playing game “Swordsman II Mobile.” For the advert, Heechul dressed up as the lead female character in complete garb and make-up.
Pretty boy
Even without the wig and the makeup, Heechul is known for having a very androgynous look earning him the nickname of being “Prettier than Female.” Because of this, rumors have circulated about his sexuality. When asked why he never denied the gay rumors, he said it's because he believes that it'd be rude to deny it strongly.

Ballard’s Abandoned Landscapes
If you set reality at noon on an analog clock, most science fiction would range from about 4:30 to 6. Philip K. Dick might ring in at 7:30. J.G. Ballard? 9 pm or your personal bedtime.
I’m talking about early, ‘60s Ballard, simply because that’s what hit me first and still hits me hardest. I recently bought (downloaded to my Kindle – interesting to think where that might fit into the Ballard world) his complete stories, but I’ve stopped dead, for now, at “Terminal Beach,” one of the finest short stories in the English language. So that’s the era I’m going to talk about. I’m an old fart and entitled.
It’s hard to pin down what defines any writer, what sets him apart from any other writer. In Ballard’s case, beyond the bizarre settings and sprung mental framework, I think it’s the unique uniting of personal isolation and claustrophobia with a sense of unbordered physical and internal space.
Many of the stories are set in deserts or uninhabited/disinhabited, windswept nowheres. He seldom introduces more than two or three characters, who often interact like cyborgs hurling dogturds at a target close to each others’ heads. Things happen without explanation and often without resolution.
Several of the stories deal with Vermillion Sands, an artistic community of the future where the world of art has run aesthetically and conceptually amok. Statues move and crawl, poetry drifts on the winds, ideas (and ideals) that were set up to evolve across the landscape peter out like grandpa in his dotage. But if you look at the impetus behind the individual elements, most of them have been realized, in one form or another, in the half century since Ballard wrote these stories.
At the uber-level, he knew. He saw. He envisioned. Many writers of SF’s “Golden Age” pictured isolated developments surprisingly well. They understood how technology would (or might) unfold. What Ballard saw was the human drive and how, in a technological society, it could be revealed. He was like Bradbury that way, and it may be the universe’s quiet salute that they died so temporally near each other.
I might have made it sound like Ballard was dreary or empty, a drum beaten in a deserted warehouse. Sometimes he was. Not every story is a resonant gem. But at his (often) best, he brought together characters, or a character and an environment, with such understated intensity that they caught fire without oxygen. People you would never want to know, never want to meet, never want to think about sizzle and sparkle in their own personal skies. I don’t know if that gives any kind of useful image, but it’s as close as I can come to pinning them against Ballard’s backdrop.
So let’s look at a few of those stories from the late '50s, early '60s.
Along with the sense of abandonment, there is often a dissolution of personal experience. In “The Last World of Mr. Goddard,” an unexceptional man living in a closely locked house keeps a miniature world alive in crate. How real is this tiny world and how connected to his? We find out to his and our chagrin. (It might make you think of Theodore Sturgeon’s “Microcosmic God,” but it goes in an entirely different direction.)
“The Watch-Towers” presents the landscape overseen by an evenly-spaced grid of floating towers, obviously peopled, but no one knows by whom, from where or why. Nor, like the inhabitants below, are we allowed to find out. The towers simply are. But there are repercussions for ignoring or disdaining them.
The completely isolated characters of “Manhole 69” are subjects of an experiment that has removed the need for sleep. They live and interact without mental pause 24 hours a day. What happens to their unrelieved minds? And can they tell how much of the crushing claustrophobia is outside, how much in?
“Mr. F. is Mr. F.” merges two of Ballard’s obsessions: isolation/dissolution, and time as an inexorable enemy. Mr. F., confined to his bed and managed by his overbearing wife, is becoming younger by the day but not internally stronger. The cycle he goes through is especially terrifying for being, in that confined bedroom, absurdly mundane.
The battle with time in “The Garden of Time” is even more isolated, as a couple keep the depredations of an advancing war rabble at bay by picking a time flower each evening – while the flowers, which refuse to bud anew, ever dwindle in number: Time can be held at bay, but it will be the victor at ages’ end.
“Chronopolis” is a deserted city, the result of an edict which forbid clocks, watches and all observance of time’s passage. We follow the underground progress of renegade isolates driven by the need to know when.
Again, from these descriptions it may seem that Ballard ignores character for theme and textured absurdity. Actually, almost all of Ballard’s early stories are driven by character, fully realized human beings set in skewed or inverted situations and let go to wend their way, accepting the impossible even while battling against it.
Mangon, “The Sound-Sweep,” operates a sonovac. Like your Hoover or Electrolux, it ingests the unwanted and untidy, but in this case the refuse is sound, suctioned with exquisite care. Mangon can remove the harsh overlays of a cathedral’s yattering tourists while leaving intact the chant-soak of the stones. But what most defines him is his love for the over-the-hill opera singer, Madame Gioconda, and his sad, resigned response to her gift of derision.
Ballard for the most part ignores humor. It simply doesn’t fit into his dense, choking worlds. But he lets loose a volley of exuberant howlers in “Passport to Eternity.” A couple with all the solar system at their disposal for a vacation attempt to plan the perfect getaway. This leads them to investigate a scattering of underground firms offering … what they outline in half a dozen pages would fill an entire Philip K. Dick novel. Ballard slaps one bizarre and tortured idea after another onto the page, held in place by Laurel and Hardy glue.
And, of course, there’s “The Terminal Beach.” Wandering alone among the concrete ruins of Eniwetok, the island staging grounds for atomic and hydrogen bomb tests, Traven (B. Traven?) loses himself inside the maze of pseudo-buildings erected to examine the effects of mankind’s most unrestrained energy on its most vulnerable structures.
He talks with his lost family and to the skeletal remains of a Japanese flier tied to a porch chair. He is visited by a scientific team who cannot coax him to leave his vigil, because he is trying to find – what? Justification? The past? A sense of why he has no future? Afterwards, you might think Borges, or in some sense Nabokov. But while you’re reading it, you won’t think of anything else.

Adult Dramas for Adults Wanting to Be Adults
This post is not for you young ones. This post is not for you readers who happen to be of an age where Kpop idols are legit age appropriate. This post is not those who, because of your age, when you call a male star oppa, it’s a little less creepy. (Oh, it’s still creepy, just a teeny bit less so.) No, this post is not for you. MY OTHER GARVEZ STORIES
GUARDIAN ANGEL
With Spencer Reid, right with him! Up here I should not be able to feel jealousy, but perhaps things are more complicated than I could have explained in fifteen years of Catholic school. He had become my best friend. Probably because together with Penelope he was the most fragile person of the BAU. I felt obliged to protect them, both. And then I fell in love with one.
I remember perfectly the day of our wedding. How beautiful she was with that white dress. Until the priest had declared "You may kiss the bride" I hadn't relaxed, as had happened when I had graduated. And he was there, next to me. He was my witness.
It's strange to see Penelope again dressed like that, although this time she didn't wear anything white but a colorful dress. It's strange to see her fall in love with another man, see the way she looks at him, the delicacy she uses towards him. And vice versa, the care of every gesture of him. They're two wounded souls.
I'm jealous but I'll never stop thanking him for saving you, my love. I was next to you when they told you that I had been killed. There wouldn't have been another place where I should have been. I saw you absorb the blow, waver and then fall into the darkness. I saw you squeeze your stomach apologizing, make it up to a creature that could never see the sun. I saw you cry all the tears until you exhausted the reserve and then suddenly stop, change expression, change your traits, lose weight. I saw you wishing to join to me to build that family in heaven that we couldn't have been on earth. I saw you coveting death without almost remembering why.
And yet I watched you turn off slowly, stop smiling, go on automatically. Become a robot, an automaton, a machine without life; a cog of a mechanism that went on on its own.
I heard you ask the Lord the reason for so much pain, but not just yours, everything you had been forced to see since you were born. I heard you ask Him if all this really had a deeper meaning, that we poor homunculi aren't able to interpenetrate. My ways aren't your ways. My thoughts aren't your thoughts, they have taught us this way. But really believing it, blindly, is much more difficult. It's almost necessary to cancel oneself in the Whole.
And then I listened to your prayers, your words, your fears and I tried to console you, to caress you through a sudden breeze of wind that opened the window, scaring you. I became the water that came out of the tap you used to erase the traces of tears from your face. And I hugged you, all night long, until you fell asleep. I tried to talk to you through dreams, but I'm not allowed to reveal everything I'd like. Life would have no meaning without death, a bitter but necessary truth.
I watched you struggle with yourself, uncertain whether to drop or get up. Receiving Spencer's visits, trying to drive him away and eventually giving in to the embrace that was needed for both. I tried to enter his body to feel the sensation of your skin on my hands, but it was not granted to me. I envied him and loved him at the same time.
After the passing I spent several days (although the temporal units here are useless) to question me if what was between my wife and my best friend had more distant roots. If I had been stupid, when I was alive, too naive to realize it. But I never thought that you both had betrayed me, neither for a moment. Perhaps my mistake was to consider him harmless. But I'm not convinced it's a mistake.
He was there before I died for you. After Diana goes away, he had begun to come more and more often to our house and conduct the investigation from there. He no longer took the jet, almost the fear of his mother had been transmitted to him at the time of the passing. He was close to you when you needed it. If I think back to the time I wasted, the lost opportunities ... I would feel incredible rage, if I wasn't here, but here the feeling can't even germinate, it fades. I should have hugged you more often, pampered you, told you what I felt right away. It's useless to end up prey of regrets.
From my limbo I have scrutinized you, it was strange to observe things from an external point of view for once, to see love bloom, a fragile flower with an even finer stem.
I was there the day when Lucia came into the world. I held your hand during the caesarean section. I supervised because the doctors couldn't make mistakes. I wanted you close to me, but not at this price. It's because of feelings like this egoism that I'm still stuck here. But I feel that the moment to go is approaching.
I'm sure my mom appreciated the choice of the name. And that for things like this you'll not even spend a second dangling between earth and sky. You have always been the exact contrary of selfishness, going to the opposite extreme. So many times, you've canceled yourself for others and you're doing it with our daughter too.
I watched you show her the way, give her the right means to face it, without forcing her to make any decision. Because a teacher is someone who tells you where to look, but not what, said Akexandra Trefor. And you've always supported it. I saw you correcting the tasks with her and I caught the signs that a new passion was born. I was with Spencer while he was choosing which pastels and felt-tip pens given her. And I'll accompany her to the exam of maturity, I'll give her the right push the day of the discussion of the degree, I'll be close to her when she'll present her first show and then ... These are all things that have yet to happen. She'll make you proud, our little Lucia. You'll have the confirmation that she was the most beautiful gift that the same Lord who took me from you, could give you.
And that nothing happens by chance, as you have always maintained.
But they haven't been and will not only be happy days. There will also be many moments of difficulty in which you'll almost come to regret having made love with me that evening. Almost. Like when you'll accidentally throw one of her favorite designs and even you'll look for it in the trash you'll not find it. She'll cry out to you that she hates you, even if she doesn't really think so. And I'll be next to her, because you'll find comfort in Spencer.
My little Lucia, so lucky to know soon enough that you have two fathers. Your mother and your stepfather have given you the opportunity to develop an affection for someone you've never known officially. They can't know that the imaginary friend you played with was me. I'll listen when you'll cry after banging the door, shed nervous tears because you know you're wrong and you'll regret the very instant when those two little words will come out of your mouth. And I'll caress you and whisper in your ear that All the love you have for me, give it back to your mother's heart. Remember or notice all the sacrifices and renunciations she has made for you. Despite the smiles you're used to see, you which having grown up surrounded by that warm atmosphere, remember that she has never been one of those people capable of loving themselves, but only others. She was a mother before she became it physiologically.
You have so many fathers and mothers, Lucia, someone close and someone up there. You'll never be alone. Don't ever feel lonely, my baby. You have two parents who love you, a little brother who can't wait to meet you and a series of uncles and uncles who have always loved you. You'll have fun shopping with aunts Emily and JJ, while mom and Spencer enjoy a weekend on their own. It'll be too easy to be spoiled by grandpa Rossi and you'll take the first serious crush on his nephew. You'll discover the sudden suffering and joy that catch those who fall in love. But first you'll play and beat Hank and Jack at football, you'll learn to play chess and magic, you'll train with Michael and Henry. One day, soon, Mom and Spencer will take you to visit a tomb and tell you the story of a man who was their leader and who together with your grandfather Dave founded the unit where I worked, so he helped create you, offered the right coordinates.
And then I'll whisper other words, to you little one and to you, corazon, my loves. Things that are valid for both. In her thoughts I'll live, with her hands I'll caress you. But now I feel something, a force that pushes me away. I have yet to say something...
Hold you each other tight when you're scared, that there's my love that doesn't abandon you. But now I can no longer oppose.
One last look, another look ...
-You're now husband and wife ... -.
I watch he kisses you and there is no more envy inside me.
-How will we call him?- he takes your hand. He poses his on your belly.
-You already know. He's a male.- he sighs. -You knew all long it .- he smiles and turns off the light, bringing the room in the dark.
-Lucia and Lucas.- he weighing the names on the language. It's the last thing I hear. The sweet sound of Penelope laughing.
I have heard all your doubts, pequena and neither in the place where I'm going there is the answer you're looking for. Is there only one true love? And what is what coming afterward? So, you have to suffer and be alone even if you lose your beloved at fifteen? And how can the theory of soul mates be reconciled with that of reincarnation?
I have witnessed many discussions between you and Reid like this. Not even Spencer's superior intelligence can suffice.
But stop, it's no longer the time to think. I'll always watch over you, even from here, immersed in absolute light.
Don't be afraid.
There is no emptiness. There is room for everyone and I wait for you without haste. Where fullness reigns.

TOKE, Round 1
Alright, so I kinda have the advantage over most of the other participants of this round in that I know who my “secret angel” is - I do have access to the matching up sheet after all. It’s actually someone I interact with a fair bit already, whose taste in dramas I quite trust, so I knew I’d be in good hands.
I’m just quickly going to go over the two drama recommendations that I won’t be watching.
One of them was It’s Okay It’s Love. I actually started on this drama some time back, but never finished it. I feel like conceptually it’s something I would really enjoy, but somehow it just wasn’t working for me. I’d loved every performance of Gong Hyo Jin’s that I’ve watched prior to that, but her character just didn’t really come to life in my opinion. Things like what motivated her, what her goals were... I just couldn’t see why she behaved the way she did or said the things she did. Who knows, maybe I needed to give the show more time, or maybe it just wasn’t the right show for me at that time. Whatever the case, I dropped it pretty hard, with quite a heavy heart.
The second show from the list that I won’t be watching is Liar Game. I’ve seen a lot about this show on Tumblr, and while it’s not necessarily on my list of things to pick up next, I wouldn’t have minded watching it. I believe it’s got some impeccable acting in it, which is always great fun to watch.
So, having turned those two down, what will I actually be watching this month?
The top recommendation from my “secret angel” was Dear My Friends.
I’ll admit, I really didn’t know very much about this at all. I sort of knew it exists, and that it’s about older people, but beyond that, no clue. I think in my head it’s merged together with Grandpas Over Flowers and some other show which I can’t remember the name of right now... it has some young dudes who turn into old dudes, and I think it maybe stars Heechul of Super Junior... anyone know what I’m talking about?*
Anyway, getting back to the actual show I’ll be watching - looking through the cast list, I know I’ve seen some of the main actors in other shows.
Kim Young Ok is probably the most familiar because I saw one of her dramas fairly recently (Shopping King Louis).
Joo Hyun played the rich dad in Flower Boy Ramyun Shop (which, really, has the most ridiculous premise but it’s the show that got me to start keeping an eye out for new TVN dramas)
Shin Goo was in Laurel Tree Tailor Shop (which I have seriously been considering picking up again even though I dropped it ages ago)
Park Won Suk was in Fated To Love You and Coffee Prince, and I’m pretty sure I liked her performance in both
While they’re familiar-ish faces, I wouldn’t say I’ve really followed any of their work - and there are quite a few older actors whose work I do keep tabs on because I’m a bit of a fangirl. I also haven’t really seen anything from this director or writer yet (apart from It’s Okay It’s Love), so, yeah, I’m going into this pretty blind. This show was way off my radar, but it’s not necessarily something I think I won’t enjoy.
Interestingly enough, the last two times I did the drama exchange, I got some really gritty crime shows (both of which I really enjoyed) so this is definitely a change. I’m expecting some light fluffy watching, with emphasis on the friendships and general human relation aspect, which is right up my alley at the moment. Plus, that poster is adorable.
I’m excited to get started on this over the weekend :)
*Nevermind, Google to the rescue - I was thinking of Flower Grandpa Investigation Unit. Look at that title guys. What even is that. Now I almost wish that had been my drama because what. even. what?!

What are your top 3 unpopular dramas? Mini dramas?
I haven't watched too many mini dramas, so it's easy to choose. Hahah. I liked I Order You, Splash Splash Love, and Surplus Princess (which I'm still bitter became a mini drama...)As for unpopular...I guess these are more just not talked about much anymore. I love Protect the Boss, Grandpas over Flowers Investigation Unit, and umm, Who Are You (the ghost one). :) Thanks for the asks!!

Why hadn’t I have found this drama earlier?! Goodness gracious. I really missed something.
Grandpas Over Flowers - Investigation Team (Flower Grandpa Investigative Team) is comedy with mystery and kind of a sitcom feel. Joon-Hyuk, Won-Bin, Kang-Seok, Jung-Woo and Eun-Ji are police officers that form a special unit in charge of discovering the truth behind the disappearance of multiple people. As they think they free two individuals and finallu found the culpitre, Joon-Hyuk, Won-Bin and Kang-Seok turn into men in their seventies.
As always, I tried to keep my review as short and without spoilers, but there’s a small spoiler at the end. If you don’t want to read it, just skip the sentence.
At first, I thought the plot was really interesting. The concept of the story was quite unique. I loved how the story allowed some older actors to have other roles than simply being a grand-father or father. Also, the whole aspect that it’s a supernatural crime drama who doesn't include supernatural beings (ghosts, vampires, etc.) is quite original. I mean, I have seen quite a few drama of the genre, but this one had something quite different because the supernatural wasn’t without reason or only brought in the story by an individual. Also, it wasn’t treated lightly and only as a background story. I liked how there was a true will of the screenwriter to develop the back story of the sudden change of the boys. I felt as if there was nothing that wasn’t logical. Everything was explained and seemed, at least, a bit logical, even though it’s quite hard to find logic in supernatural drama because there’s a lot of things that can’t be really explained. The base of the drama is crime and it’s probably the best part in it, since the romance added was quite boring, to my eyes. The first episodes are well paced and I felt as if they were truly interesting, but starting from the ninth episode, I felt as if the story was a bit dragged and felt as if they could have easily shorten the story. Also, as the story progressed the clichés become more and more obvious. Seriously, at the end, I could only think that the concept was great and well-thought, but it was clumsily executed through a very cliché progression. Like, through the drama there’s an overuse of the ‘’you thought it would go that way, but nah, just kidding’’ which, after a time, becomes quite annoying. Goldfish, the organization who starts everything, is probably the best example of such handling. When it’s presented, it looks completely bad-ass, but the more the story goes on, the more it becomes abstract and seems to lose its original charm by becoming a huge what the fuck. But the drama is nicely saved by a funny and original (it isn’t exactly what you would expect) ending. Finally, the drama is enjoyable, even though its progression is a bit boring, because it’s quite short.
For what it is of the characters, there’s not much to say about them. They start as really cliché characters and are portrayed as nearly perfect, which is a bit annoying. Their personalities are quite usual. We have the genius, the one who was always second and fight with the genius, the self-absorbed cutie pie, the Casanova and the strange female character with an ability quite weird. Yet, they are pretty cool and likable. Also, they go through true changes in the drama when they are confronted to different situations in which they have no other choice than growing. For what it is of the bad guy, even though he has a reason to do what he does, I thought he was pretty much useless. He doesn’t occupy a big place in the story, since he’s more a background menace and, when he comes in the story, he doesn’t really help the story to progress. His character is quite weird and I found him a bit undeveloped as everything he does seem out of context. What’s good in the story is his side-kick who’s completely awesome. After all, she’s the one who pretty much does everything for him and is really developed, her backstory as well as her personality and motives. (SPOILER) Her redemption also is well-done and well-thought, even if it’s quite typical as a scene.
I’ll conclude here. The plot would deserve a 7.5/10 mostly because of how the progression was handled. The characters would be a 4/5 for their well-thought development. The tearjerker factor would be a 1/5, since I didn’t feel as if there were moments in which I was truly emotional over what happened.

200710 *IN PHOTOS: 10 times Super Junior's Heechul could pass as a girl
In the K-pop industry, it's pretty common to see male idols crossdress as females for fun. But one male idol stands out among all of them and it's none other than Super Junior's Kim Heechul. Let's take a look at all the times he's dressed as a woman (and became way prettier than most of us) in this gallery:
Hee-sica* The most iconic look from Heechul would have to be when he dressed up as Girls' Generation's Jessica Jung. He even called himself “Hee-sica” who made its debut in 2009 when Super Junior became guests at the variety show 'Intimate Note.'
Rokkugo* But prior to the debut of Hee-sica, Heechul already showcased his androgynous look when he crossdressed as a lady in Super Junior-T's music video 'Rokkugo.' In the trot music video, he acted as a girl who had fallen for all the members.
Lady HeeHee* During Super Junior concerts, Heechul and the other members sometimes transform into girls. That's why in their third concert, 'Super Show 3,' Heechul appeared as Lady Gaga and called himself “Lady HeeHee.” He even performed “Pokerface” and “Crazy in Love” with members Shindong, Eunhyuk, and Donghae.
Hee-gain* In 'Super Show 5,' Heechul made an appearance as Brown Eyed Girls member Gain and danced to SISTAR's 'Alone.' Just look at that cropped top!
Elsa* Another show-stopping moment for Heechul would have to be when he dressed up as the 'Frozen' character, Elsa in 'Super Show 6' from 2014 to 2015.
Anna* In the following concerts, he chose to dress up as Elsa's sister Anna from the same movie. When asked why the sudden change in costume, he reportedly said that he didn't like girls with heavy makeup and preferred a more natural look like Anna.
Nie Xiaoqian* Heechul boasted his amazing looks by playing the exotic princess Nie Xiaoqian from the popular Chinese movie, 'A Chinese Ghost Story.
Hee-mi* Whenever he plays his girl counterpart in 'Knowing Brothers,' he always uses the name Hee-mi. Because of his looks, some guests couldn't help but be dazzled by the amazing features Heechul has.
Park Jung-woo* In the 12-episode tvN drama 'Flower Grandpa Investigation Unit,' Heechul played the part of Park Jung-woo, the precinct's golden boy who escapes an aging spell that prohibits him from aging. In one of the episodes, Park Jung-woo disguised himself as a girl for an investigation.
Pretty boy* Even without the wig and the makeup, Heechul is known for having a very androgynous look earning him the nickname of being “Prettier than Female.” Because of this, rumors have circulated about his sexuality. When asked why he never denied the gay rumors, he said it's because he believes that it'd be rude to deny it strongly.
