First of all thank you so much for your blog! I always felt that I was weird liking characters get hurt, but then I first found you and then the whole whump community on tumblr and now I feel more comfortable with liking whump.

I wanted to ask you if you have any recommendations, where the male lead often has ear ringing like tinnitus. For example like in moorim school. I really like that kind of whump but I don't find it often...

I remember first stumbling into the community and finding my first whump blog (I can no longer remember who it was but I’m still grateful to them) and I just wanna say I’m so honored to be so many people’s first exposure to the community.

Not only that, but I’m so happy my blog has been such a positive thing that people decide to stick around after being here.

I sure hope you feel comfortable! There’s nothing wrong with it but I do understand that as it was something I once felt.

As for the tinnitus whump… I’ll get back to you on that. I’ll update this post and reblog it once I either find nothing or (and this is the option I’m hoping for) when I have a sublist for you.

i'm such a huge fucking fan of having and using magic requiring effort. whether mental, physical, or both. i'm so fond of magic systems that make you sweat, bleed, cry and get your hands dirty when you use them. i love it when powers are earned, not inherent, through years of study and/or exercizing them like a muscle. and i love it when a seemingly effortless display of power is terrifying because of this.

I realize now that a) calling out racism towards East Asians and b) calling out racism within our community don’t have to be at odds. Though Squid Game is a Korean tv show, I couldn’t speak directly about Korean society because I don’t have that understanding of their history. But I can’t help but notice the parallels and wonder how similar the experience is in watching a Pakistani character on screen. I can’t help but notice that this is the first non-East Asian character on-screen since Moorim School (featuring Sam Okyere).

1. It's Okay Not to be Okay. I cried every episode, multiple times. As soon as I finished the drama I rewatched it, this time with my sisters, and we cried every episode again. It's such a good fucking drama. Watch it if you haven't seen it. Soo good. Also everyone is such a good crier in it. Not one ugly crier amongst the lot.

2. The song Ho Gu sings in Ho Gu's/Fools Love. It's a lullaby and it's adorable and the dance is just as cute. It's crazy how verastile an actor Choi Woo-shik is. From soft innocent boy to fucking insane killing boy. Like look at the difference between these two characters.

3. That scene in Noble, My Love where Sung Hoon gets really injured by the bad guys and gets found by the Kim Jae-kyung who drags his wounded self into her clinic and then strips him of his shirt to treat his wounds. Angels sing and the sun shines on his glorious abs. Cause same.

4. Ryu Jun-yeol's face in Lucky Romance. Also he was just super adorable in that drama. I apperciated how he tried to act cool and was very bad at it.

5. Also what the fuck was My Unfortunate Boyfriend?? Did anyone else watch it or was it just a fever dream? I can't remember what the plot even was just that the main guy was a himbo always losing his shirt?? Anyone remember that?

6. The mc's parents in Another Oh Hae Young. Of course Kim Mi-kyung is a goddess and I love her in everything but Another Oh Hae Young was fantastic. I thought she had great married energy with her counterpart. I loved her temper and her husbands attempts to either pacify her or just get the hell out of dodge. Also she was always taking off her clothes to fight a hoe-- fucking hilarious. I loved them together so much.

7. Ryu Hwa-Young in general. That woman is gorgeous. I love her in everything she does too. She was such a badass in Mad Dog and then a loveable tsundre in Hello, My Twenties.

8. The found family that was Crashing Landing on You. I loved them all. I fucking hated the ending but I really liked the cast chemistry. They were adorable and I wanted them to stay as a cut elittle found family. Arrgh I really hated the ending of that dumb drama!

9. But also Kim Jung-Hyun in that drama. What a sly bastard he was and then the redemption arc. And then the love plot. I was really shipping it and then they went and made him be the best guy and rescue his woman. How fucking dare they. HOW DARE. I was outraged. How dare they do that to her and my feelings!!! Fucking writers.

10. The scene in Moorim's Institute where Lee Hong-bin gets kidnapped for what is obviously the 100th time in his life and he takes it all in stride. Just a run of the mill day-- "Pay them, mom. I've been kidnapped again."
