useful ito noon for critical judgment sa LGU lalo kung alam gamitinng mga responder and emergencies evacuation sa metromanila maps and its nearby towns , ewan ko bakit inabandon , or nag stop oPERAtion, siguro lack of political will at hindi ito naimplement sa buong Pilipinas, mahirap talaga pag all initiative are political in nature, kumbaga nature sa political scene sa Pilipinas na gagastos ng project para masabi na may project pero pag politico ang pumapel na maski useful ang app pilit nila isasara para lang sabihin, okay na , yun lang, ganon lang close na, hahahahahahahahahahahaha and dami pang bagyo sa Pilipinas na may iba't ibang characteristic kaya hindi pwedeng tayo ay masanay sa bagyo kaya sayang yung data na nakuha neto, #noah #bagyo #floodph #technology #politicking "history repeat itself," (at Quezon City, Philippines) https://www.instagram.com/p/CHecXHdH2mL/?igshid=1pqkztvo05ngs

✩°。⋆⸜How Does Social Media Helps During Calamities? ✩°。⋆⸜
HOW SOCIAL MEDIA HAS HELPED FAMILIES, SOCIAL WORKERS, AND THE GOVERNMENT IN DISCERNING INFORMATION DURING CALAMITIES?
• Social Media helps families check the safety and status of their distant family members who are affected by certain calamities through video calls, chats, posts, and other social media features that can communicate messages or keep them updated.
• Social media help families track the location of family members during calamity due to the location features it offers.
• Social media has helped inform families in surviving certain calamities through the effective use of spreading and sharing infographics, particularly the do's and don'ts.
• Social media can be a good source of news information that can help families predict upcoming calamities that will affect their area, which can result in a good preparation, planned evacuation, or any execution necessary to their survival.
In terms of government, social media is quite beneficial. According to an article of Natural Hazard Center (2014) The use of social media has become a prevalent activity among a vast population of people all over the world, with a considerable potential for serving various functions before, during, and after natural catastrophes. This isn't new in the Philippines; as we've seen in recent years, we've been using social media to raise awareness of impending typhoons and calamities.
LGUs (Local Government Units) and other agencies utilize their social media accounts to create/post public emergency awareness prior to the calamity; providing information on when and where a disaster might occur or damage. With this up-to-the-minute news and updates, citizens in the vicinity have had the chance to evacuate or retrieve to a safest location. Other government entities, like the PCDSPO-OPS (Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office and the Office of the Presidential Spokesperson), have employed and advocated the usage of unified hashtags to observe, monitor, and organize information. They are responsible for the common hashtags we use today, such as #walangpasok, #YolandaPH, and #floodPH. One of the most prominent hashtags they employed was #RescuePH. This hashtag has been used when someone needs to be rescued or knows someone who needs to be rescued. Users only need tweet their full name, address, and contact information with this hastag. Many Filipinos are now using this as it allows the government to track and coordinate help to those stranded in the disaster. In the midst of the calamity, #reliefPH and other hashtags were used on social media to request relief supplies. Government agencies can use this to identify survivors and assist those who have been affected. They can also utilize social media to solicit assistance or donations from other individuals and organizations.
Social Media being a worldwide platform nowadays , helped social workers in many ways. They are using different social media platforms to promote themselves. The field of social work, with its emphasis on providing support to those in need, has also learned to navigate the world of social media, leveraging its best aspects to connect members of the social work community.
Social media is one of the fastest modes of communication. You can share information with someone the moment you come across it yourself, and you can do it whenever and wherever you have access to the internet. And unlike a phone call, you can reach many people at the same time. Second, social media platforms are built to accommodate how widely information can spread. For the most part, social media platforms are designed to encourage user activity by promoting loose networks and weak ties that serve as conduits for new content and new connections, leaving users hungry for more. Last but not least, social media platforms facilitate communication. Marketers, influencers, and special interest groups can research and target the most influential nodes in the network in real time and at a minimal cost using these platforms. As a result, the dissemination of information via social media is far more efficient than broadcast television or print media.
In the early days , when there was no internet connection , the only way news circulate was by “word of mouth”. They gather news from one place, and from that they would gather in one place and share the information. In other cases , they would use a pigeon or a horse to send a message. In other circumstances, they might send a message via pigeon or horse. During the Dynasty era, they would send a messenger to the target location where they wanted the message to be delivered and simply hand them the letter, which they would then return and give to their emperor. Despite its effectiveness, this method cannot reach a vast number of people. It is for this reason that newspapers were created. The first newspaper was published in England in 1665. The second occurred in 1705 in Britain, after which the newspaper began to spread throughout the world. Newspapers are becoming the primary source of information about global events.
