There's something really funny to me about Mumbo spotting the "Free us" banner Bdubs built in the cyber punk city and going "oh wow that's so dark omg" only to immediately return to building the ecological disaster destroying and poisoning the farmlands and water supply of his hometown caused by the lab he works in. My man, I'm not sure you have room to judge in that department, actually aksglsgsksb

I'm sure this was talked to death back in the early days of the fandom back when both were big, but do we think Bill Cipher would love or hate the citizens of Night Vale? Like it's such a weird place already that Weirdmageddon wouldn't be that far from a particularly interesting week, and if it's not enough he could always go to whatever new Desert Bluffs Kevin set up in the desert otherworld (idk if that's still a thing, I'm so behind on wtnv again). Though he may find himself in a turf war with the Smiling God in that case and I'm seriously not sure who'd win. But like, if Bill was capable of chilling out a bit and going for lower-grade weirdness and slightly less sadism, Night Vale would probably tolerate him pretty easily. (Unless he messed with the resident scientist of course.)

I wasn't really a fan of book 4: The Dead Town. I like the concept and some of the themes, like how its implied that the town has been doomed since before D walked onto it, but the execution just isn't there for me.

It feels like a lot of stuff just comes out of nowhere for no real reason, and a lot of loose plot threads get hastily tied up at the last second. The Sheriff randomly getting offed instead of having some final confrontation with D. Bluto randomly getting offed instead of having a final confrontation with D. The way the leading lady for the book just sorta hangs out and then gets dropped in a box off screen at the end with no measurable character development or contributions. It also doesn't help that we did the whole "somebody is trying to make artificial vampires" thing two books ago.

It really just feels like a whole book of D and company pissing around doing nothing of consequence as the world falls apart around them, and there's certainly some merit in a story with that sort of concept. The problem is that that sort of narrative doesn't really gel with a series whose entire premise is "Vampire Hunter D is the most overpowered motherfucker alive and it takes an act of God just to ruffle his hat," so you end up with a book in which the main character watches a town full of people die horribly while in next to zero danger.

Also like. I just kinda hate Lori. She's that very patronizing sort of disabled character who goes through some horrible injury and comes out of it with the most demure, aesthetically inconsequential disability possible because we can't risk doing anything that would make her less attractive. She literally just can't talk anymore. That's it. She has the worlds most specific type of anime brain damage that only affects her ability to speak and hear without giving her any of the un-sexy side effects of actual brain damage.

Grrrr okay okay just because you are asking nicely. Drangonstone IS the trailer park, Aegon, Visenya and Rhaenys leaved there when they scaped their parents and adfer some time they managed to get enough money to move to an old farm that was full of mold and it smelt rancid and that everyone was pretty sure the drains of that farm was poisoned. Aegon and Aenys both tried to fix it but failed and it was Maegor the one who maneged to fix it the most of it and paint it of the most lustruous red he could find. The faith is just your ye-old south baptist/christian church, and ceryse is the girl Maegor knew there. She was the niece of the pastor and sings in the choir and leads some program to teach the kids about religion, Alys is the queen of all the small beauty peageants the town holds and ends up having names like the queen of the corn or something on those lines, Tyanna is the weird woman that lives alone in the farthest part of the town that house smells weird and she has like at least seven different animals as her pets and everyone is DAMN sure she does some kind of witchcraft and they talk about her on her back but if they need an abortion they just go to her, Rhaena was the girl who always dreamed of living in The Big City with her (girl) friends and knowing all this beautiful movie places with really high builidings and have long rides on her Blue Vespa (Dreamfyre) in the streets of the big city, but her uncle had this horrible accident and now someone needs to take care of him and his costant headaches and Maegor borderline treats her just as he treated her Ceryse and Alys and it is kind of weird.

After Maegor weird ass dead where he is found on his couch holding a beer and being illuminated by the blue gleam of the Tv with at least dozen flies flying around him he takes over the farm and said you know what i think we can make something with this shit and that is how he ends up doing the greatest emporium of milk products kingislandingtown has ever seen in its entire existence. Baelon and Aemon are your typical Highschool number one football players that could have had a uni sports scholarship but Aemon got tackled really hard during a game having some kind of internal decapitation against Sunspear's community highschool and that took Baelon so out of the rails that he just ended up never leaving the farm.

hey fujii do you wanna hear about a silly little thing i thought of earlier. so you know how in red/blue rescue team, eevee used to be in the "naive" category, whereas in explorers of sky, it's in the "jolly" category? it made me think about ribbons, specifically because of how the rescue team personality test describes the naive trait.

in rescue team, the naive type is described to be someone whos highly curious, and someone who likes rare things. their cheerful and carefree make everything fun for the people around them, but they also have the flaw of being childish, never sitting still, and always being on the move. (it also says that they might be selfish but i dont see that applying to ribbons tbh..)

it seems so oddly fitting for ribbons because her personality does show those traits in particular. she's a silly little thing and her bright cheery personality, and she is childish to some extent. and of course, can't forget her curiosity. especially with how curious she got when it came to dusknoir. and of course, we can't forget about the *actual* definition of naive. naivety in the sense of choosing to believe that dusknoir, despite how his aura flared with malice, bared no ill intent. to think that someone who is so great, so wise, so kind and caring could ever be capable of shattering her world apart.. that was naive. because she believed he was what she thought he was, and because it was her naivety that nearly got her and aimilios killed. you'd think she'd have learned from the drowzee incident where two kids displaying trust in a spur-of-the-moment stranger who coincidentally showed them kindness in their misfortune was a mistake, but i suppose that's what being a naive little child does to you.

I love learning about the kind of niche, hyper-location-specific things we all learn as kids that become mostly useless when you move anywhere else. I have so much knowledge about the undertow current that runs along the west michigan lakeshore and how to not get pulled into it and how to safely swim back to shore if you drift too far out and the dangers of lake ice and pier jumping and what to do in case of hypothermia. I know how to minimize heating costs in a blizzard thru hanging blankets and wrapping windows. When swan nesting season is and how no amount of running will save you if you didn’t notice the big angry yet very stealthy bird in time.

Then I moved to NYC and suddenly there was a tornado watch and i was like “oh wait i didn’t really learn about those bc they bounce over the dunes, do people here take those seriously????” Turns out they don’t, but it is good to know the signs that a manhole might explode.

Then the canadian wildfires happened and the smoke cloud descended and we were all asking our california friends “hey wtf do we do?” and they were like “take a spare hepa filter you have lying around and tape it to a box fan” and we were like “who the fuck has spare filters lying around???”
