Throwing Percy into a game I started playing again.
Au where he gets isekaied into CB universe immediately after Argost blows up in war of the cryptids.
Mans rocking a new fit for the AU, also he can't transform into a mantis in this world (He is grounded, tape transformations only).

Been a while since I've shaped some of these guys up! Three of them, along with two new characters, and it's my original Monster Cereal characters, with some brand new bios for them! Vanillaton is next in line to hold a piece of the fated psychopomp lineage. Winning the tournament in her generation, she...ran away. Terrified of what her duties entail, along with the sudden pressure put on her, she ditched her joining ceremony to go into hiding. Instead, she finds solace in whatever she can. She is sculpting herself to "like a bit of what others like", which, while makes her good at making friends and finding kindred hobbies, also makes it hard to track who she truly is, since despite her outwardly friendly nature, her true self seems very hidden. Smorgon shirked on her abilities on purpose. Instead of powering up her gorgon skills, she was so afraid of what they could do that she sheltered them. Now, her abilities are weak, only causing her to be able to freeze someone into stone for a mere hour. She says she's happy about that, but it's hard to judge how happy she truly is. Shy by nature, she instead just seems anxious about everything, and it seems like this lack of ability in her own abilities has just further hurt her self esteem. DragonFruit was possibly not supposed to be here. What seemed to just be a decorative jeweled egg made in honor of a thought-to-be extinct subspecies of dragon, turned out to be a REAL egg of a thought-to-be extinct species of dragon, and she was in it! She's just a baby, since she's newly hatched. and she doesn't exactly have any dragons around to teach her how to "dragon", but she's too young to realize this. Instead, she's just a happy little girl who sees no issue with the world, or her fire breath, which she doesn't have a handle on. Democha is overworked. Sure, he might merely be an intern doing this for college credit, but this was far more than he signed up for. A ledger of monster activity, his job was assigned to "look out for the monsters that don't fit monster criteria", according to his boss. Turns out, this means the nice ones. The ones that don't want to scare people. The ones that are slowly more and more turning into his friends instead. Terrified that he's being overlooked by some higher (or maybe lower?) power, he's too nervous to quit his duties, but he doesn't want to abandon his new friends either. Flapwoods is probably the only one with a semblance of normal life...even if she is an alien monster that dwells in the forest. Chipper without being stressed, open without hiding things, she's a great friend. And, with a couple bits of monster magic disguises, she's managed to figure out a way to interact with humans without scaring them. Granted, this really just equals "working the night shift at a diner" for now, but it pays well and she gets to interact with a wide variety of random people. A lil compilation of Bootlegs
I counted them, and I have 34 of them only in my main file (I have a second file where I exclusivly use bootlegs. Thought I could showcase some of my fav:
I did took the time to remove the background to then make a new one just so it looks more clean lol. Plantatou and Épouchandail were my two first bootleg that I used during the playthrought. I cherish them dearly.

Theorycrafting Cassette Beasts Smogon
If you need an introduction, Smogon is a very popular competitive Pokémon community that uses its own ruleset and usage-based tiers. What I'm doing here is thinking of what the Cassette Beasts version of it would be like, mainly in rulings.
First off, unlike Smogon, the main format is best off being Doubles since that's the format the base game uses. It also seems best to balance around level 100 characters, 5 star monsters and max level relationships. Species clause (you cannot have multiple of the same monster in a team) is a definite holdover, however I'll also add that you may not have multiple of the same sticker on a monster, so no Khepri Random Starter Headshot exploit. Uncommon and Rare stickers would also be banned since those seem like a massive headache to balance around. Bootlegs get their own format since they undermine typing too much for the base format. Item use is also banned for obvious reasons. Fusion is tricky. I can't tell if it should be allowed or not. If it is to be allowed, it shall start at full meter and you may only fuse once per battle.
As for a watchlist of things that MIGHT warrant bans, the most striking contender is every move that can inflict Sleep. This would also ban Trick and Wonderful 7 (in Smogon principles that'd also ban Triphinx but that's pretty dumb) due to them randomly being able to inflict it. Petrified may also warrant a ban for the same reasons. Evasion ups and accuracy downs also likely deserve bans, however that gets dicey when some elemental interactions cause evasion increases. Random Starter, Custom Starter, Automate and AP Refund are great ban candidates for their incredibly RNG and underhanded nature. I'm pretty sure that covers the entire ban watchlist.
As for the monsters, I see the lowest tier (discounting Little Cup) being RU due to this game's much lower monster count than Pokémon. Khepri and Anathema seem like the most likely Ubers tier monsters, the former basically being Chi-Yu's reincarnation. Triphinx definitely strikes me as an OU staple, excellent stat spread and movepool that make it a very versatile monster. My playthrough also has me convinced that Galagor and Liligator have what it takes to succeed in OU, with the former's excellent bulk and power and the latter's terrifying attack power and surprising support capability. Flapwoods could see some niche use cases as the fastest Close Encounters user, though Triphinx may render that a moot advantage. I also have belief in Beanstalker to become a potent setup sweeper due to Pumpkin Pie being a really good move and those high melee attack and speed stats. I've heard that Shining Kuneko is really good but I don't have much experience with her to say for sure. That's all for this post, bye.

Happy April!
As someone who plays both Hi-Fi Rush and Cassette Beasts, and inspired by @psychangels AU, I'm ready to share the beast teams I've assembled for my main HFR OCs.
🟣Violet/Bacon🟣: Palangolin, Ratcousel, and an Undyin (Poison bootleg?) she swears isn't part of her team
Palangolin's knight theme ties to a pair of characters Violet connects with in RP (neither one is a Zanzo) and Sir Bromelain's Travels, a fictional play I made up for her to obsess over so I don't break immersion 😄. This beast also uses a polearm type weapon. Ratcousel is both for humor and to connect with her toy collecting. Undyin is related to the scary ghost lady Violet sees in her dreams. No significant lore relevance with that other than I had a creepy dream and wanted to incorporate it into RP.
Fun Fact: My Cassette Beasts character is currently a version of Violet. I plan on redressing her as the Moonstone Island Alchemist once the crossover update releases
//Image Description: A photograph of Cassette Beast's character creation screen depicting "Bacon", a woman with short, side swept blue hair, light skin, and glasses. She's wearing a purple poncho, yellow pants, and black shoes.//
💓Shiruko💓: Mascotorn, Kirikuri, and Fountess (Glitter bootleg? So her entire team can be pink ❤️)
Mascotorn because Shiruko likes cute things, wants to wear a mascot suit someday, and would kin this mon. Kirikuri is for vibes, though part of its description fits it like a glove. Fountess was also chosen based on its description. It's a bootleg since Shiruko actively avoids water
🧜♀️Mel🧜♀️: Miasmodeus, Mardiusa (Water bootleg), and last is either Spitzfyre, Southpaw, or Scarleteeth (maybe bootleg?)
In RP, Zim's nickname for Mel is "Sea Witch", since she loves mermaids and is also... Not a pleasant person to be around generally. Miasmodeus is the "witch" part and bootleg Mardiusa is the "sea" part. Mel also likes dogs so she would have one of the canine monsters.
🦇Worcestershire💀: Kingrave for sure. Second is either Folklord or Apocrowlypse, and third is either Hedgehern or Draculeaf
Goth druid, goth druid! Whatever his final team is, it's dripping with style.
🎭Forte🎭: Flapwoods, Sharktanker, and his piece de resistance GLAISTAIN
Flapwoods is a funny guy that wears a tie, so Forte respects it on principle. Sharktanker is a funny reference to the Production level shark that Forte plans to use for transportation. Glaistain is the closest equivalent to a Spamton Neo like form in this game and it goes FAST
🐢Allegro🐢: Lobstacle, Fungogh (might be a Plastic or Metal bootleg), and Lapacitor
Fungogh references the creative inclinations O5-KAR units have in canon. Lapacitor fits since Allegro struggles with battery charge retention + tortoise and hare. Lobstacle... Is another vibe based choice, I guess.
#meg thinks out loud#hi fi rush#cassette beasts#hfr oc#crossover time!#although I consider Zim like an OC he IS Zanzo so I left him out#there are other cassette beasts that could work#but I omitted them because the vibes weren't right

Monsters of Cassette Beasts and Gender Ratios - A Personal Headcanon
So I'm more or less halfway through Cassette Beasts (the main game, at least, still have yet to reach post-game so NO SPOILERS), and I've had this running through my head for a while now. Even though there are no genders at all, I still wanted to put in some genders of my own anyway just because I can.
Please not that these are all my own personal opinions, so take it all with a grain of salt if you will. Additionally, I did not include any monsters from the Pier of the Unknown DLC, as I have not gotten around to getting it yet. I give him...Flapwoods!
I've always wanted to do one of these but never had a really good idea but now thanks to my latest hyperfixation...I do! Self-shippers! Reblog with a picture (and you can tell me about them too if you'd like!) of your F/O and i'll assign them a monster from C.assette B.easts!
(I'll tag them as "cassette match" so if people don't want to see them you can block that!)
