Hello hope u have a good day !! I miss steven lim insane story sometimes got reminded because of ur pole, Kinda wanna ask question i forgot when was the time steven mentioned he sat his friends house on fire?? Could u time stamp it? Cause i remember the piss thing from podcast is it the same episode?
Oh! Okay so the fire story is from this week's Watcher Weekly+ (posted Feb 2, 2023), and the gist of it is that it was an accident 😂
Steven and some friends were setting up like, a little campfire but didn't really know how, so they poured gasoline onto it. I don't think anything truly bad happened, however, he did milk the story for maximum shock by starting with "I set my friend's house on fire".

Yandere kindnapper x reader who reads THAT kind of Fanfictions - The traumatic roommate experience (pt.2)
Previous post
Masterpost
Tw; a bit suggestive in some parts, kidnappings,Yanderish behaviour (but it’s almost nothing), mention of omegaverse, egg in a microwave, bad cooking, bad English, reader is… peculiar
✨So.., you both start living together
✨Yandere kidnapper who can’t do anything but let you slouch on the couch all day, reading *important things* on your phone while he has to work all day to make sure he has enough money for the both of you to live comfortably in this economy
✨Yandere kidnapper tries to make you do some house chores, like putting the dishes in the dishwasher, throwing out the trash, but fails because you have reasons for not doing anything at all: you were brought to his house against your will so you’re not going to do anything for him
✨Yandere kidnapper has to walk in front of you with his victims to bring the people he kidnaps to the basement and can’t stand your peculiar remarks (“Ara ara, is this what being cheated on feels like?” “Why don’t you bring me to the basement to kidnapper-kun ~”)
✨Yandere Kidnapper started sleeping on the floor in the bathroom since you two started living together, mostly because at night you try to force him to read some of the spiciest, smuttiest, most traumatising omegaverse ever written in the human history of fanfictions or you get… freaky
✨Yandere kidnapper gets in his (former) bedroom only after he’s sure that you are asleep to rest (and do *other things*) next to you, always making sure that you don’t wake up.
✨Yandere kidnapper makes you some really simple dishes using the Microwave because he can’t even boil water
✨Yandere kidnapper sometimes asks for your help in the kitchen and, let me tell you, you two together make more kitchen messes that a four year old with a firethrower in a room with explosives: you break the microwave by trying to heat up an egg, you burn the kitchen as soon as you activate the stove, you manage to explode the fridge and the list goes on
✨You two start living on canned food that can be eaten without the need to heat it
✨Once in a while people who commission the kidnappings get to the Yandere’s home to get their victims, at first you forced some of them to spend time with you talking about anime and fanfiction while the Yandere retrieved the victims to give to the commissioners, but after some time you got bored of that and decided to spend more time talking to the kidnapped people about fanfictions
✨That… was actually good for the Yandere’s business, most of the time his victims were either for a ransom (and your talking made those victim a lot more desperate during the filming of the videos) or for informations (and your work did wonders on their will)
✨After some time it’s like you two are like co-workers and you both get enough money to get a new microwave

Part two of today's SoTE adventures!! Okay in the PREVIOUS EPISODE I figured there was no way to avoid going to the Shadow Keep if I wanted to access second Finger Ruins, so there I went! Although I never reached the Finger Ruins today (typing this post at 3 AM!), other interesting things happened!
1) So there was that really big camp of the soldiers on the way, and I wanted to check it for potentially interesting items, as well as the surroundings! To my surprise, I found this object:
Tumblr media
I DID want to know what was the deal with the solar faces on the furnace guys!! Instant interest! Didn't expect the Fell God to be addressed again, but also the fact that he is connected with the Hornsent! The spiraling horns of the especially divine kind, too! Damn, I just- Dung Eater's similar sun face emblem being the symbol of the goal he envisioned (that I remind you was to "bless" everyone with the Omen, so, with Crucible), Leonine Misbegotten being connected with Radagon who himself had his red hair as curse of the Giants, one of Marika's pair of twins being oddly Omens! EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED AAAAA
2) So on my way to the camps, I tried to avoid the furnace guy as much as possible but still ran into him :^) HOWEVER, as I died, I've noticed the heads of Fire Giants on his knees! I didn't react fast enough to take a good screenshot, so in order to do that I decided to resort to the lowest level furnace guy (near the starter bridge)! That was more successful!
Tumblr media
Turned out they are decorative. Thankfully. I would not be shocked if literal heads of Fire Giants were worn like trophies or so :т So, yeah... Not only Godfrey's Duelists feature the eye mark of the Fell God as part of their design, not only there are firethrower machines in the Lands Between modeled after Fire Giants, but now also Messmer's battle machines depict Fell God (in a much more flattering manner as opposed to Marika's soyjack depiction of him gfhghfh) and the Fire Giants! That's a LOT appropriation of the defeated....
3) By the way, I ACTUALLY DEFEATED THAT GUY, HOLY SHIT???????
Tumblr media
Turned out that it leaves a bright trace of fire red on the spot where it died! So like remember how I explained I struggled with surviving attacks by jumping? With this guy I actually managed to adapt! As soon as he is about to stomp his foot back on the ground you gotta jump so you don't get burnt! Sorcery was also very effective to stagger him and make him fall >:3 They're like golems but bigger and stronger!
4) I found this talisman in the Shadow's Keep near the Golden tree!
Tumblr media
So Messmer's soldiers and Knights are using Godfrey's stomps and attacks, Messmer himself shares a similar spartan aesthetic, Godfrey's Duelists feature not just his symbols but also the snakes, Messmer has Radagon's red hair that he received as a curse during war on the Fire Giants, that war was happening with Godfrey's help, Radagon became consort to Marika already after Godfrey got sent out from the Lands Between for a long long time, and now this....
I think my prediction that Messmer was a child of Marika and Godfrey is actually solid! I've connected the dots. I've connected them x) If Rykard can be blonde then "purely" Marika's child can be a redhead yeEEEEAh!
5) Okay, seeing this already was surprising:
Tumblr media
The second option is Leda, of course! I hesitated because the last time with Sellen and Jerren it determined what items I get, but really wanted to beat Leda up! I already liked the Hornsent guy prior, whereas my with the fanatics in Soulsborne is to always kick their asses :pensive:
6) What actually made me drop my jaw was the fact that Hornsent and Leda....... TALKED.
Like, this is less impactful if Elden Ring was one's only Soulsborne game, but characters in these games don't really TALK with each other. It always happens behind the scenes, have you noticed? You learn from the character that they talked with another character, but in the end the only talk to you on screen. Even as for the cutscene "conversations", they usually happen when another person is like, unconscious or dead! Laurence's memory about exchange with Willem comes to mind as an exception!
And so, as for NPC interactions, Sellen and Jerren were close, but Leda and Hornsent actually broke the tradition. Amazing xD
7) True, Leda's eyes according to face data are grey, with barely visible glint of red as clouding effect! She is a Tarnished :p
Tumblr media
It is hard to see from the phone picture, but her eye iris apparently features pattern of Miquella's branches. Otherwise the eyes-runes are Marika's doing, so Miquella repeating her "trick" already gives that vibe of indeed being the son of his mother, heh.
8) I just looked around the place for some more, but got really surprised to stumble into a place called Specimen Storehouse?? What!
Tumblr media
^ Also WHY?
9) I did not know why they were here
Tumblr media
By the spoilers I've gotten so far I assumed that maybe he was trying to recover the shamans into their normal bodies, unsuccessfully? Some less swolen bodies respectfully being laid on beds felt like that, too..
10) The 'moon and fire' emblem is ALL proudly over this place too! Good to know that Messmer sees Rellana as equal and it is not just her stuck in simping xD
11) I ended up going sort of a secret (?) route accessed from the ladder down in the area with the boats. And GOOODD DAMN, I was SO ANGRY! So I was breaking my ass learning to fight the furnace guys just to take a good shot of the Fire Giants decor on them, ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT here in this place there was A FULLY INACTIVE FURNACE GUY FREE TO LOOK AT TO YOUR HEART'S CONTENT GFGGHGHHJ Truly, one of the most Katyahina experiences 🤡
12) Down the route, I found this:
Tumblr media
I know that's what Dane was wearing (whom I never challenged)! My instant thought was that it's rather unlucky that a guy that values independence in faith above all else fell for the spell that got him to put faith in Miquella, like.. man, that's awkward.
13) Even further down the road, I found a Mausoleum and prepared for a really bad time :/
Tumblr media
Well, it wasn't actually that bad because Rakshasa appeared to be weak to Strength weapons that is my main thing after sorceries xD She dropped her armor and weapon!
The last two sentences are especially interesting though! What do they mean by become Rakshasa? Isn't it supposed to be a specific woman? I doubt there will be any more info, but it does remind me of how with Ensha it felt like actual Ensha was the armor itself since it included human bones and literally was called 'royal remains'. (Not to mention the fact that the term 'soulless' is reserved to the Demigods that died on the Night of the Black Knives!)
So yeah, feels like the second deal of this sort of assimilation or successorship? Like some random person becomes the continuation or rebirth of the actual person in question.. So Rakshasa is like, a spirit? 🤔
__________
So yeah I'll continue on this path and see where it takes me! Sigh I haven't explored even half of the game still, this DLC is H U G E

A model of a typical brassclad artilleryship, demonstrating various design features. Some details such as the sail and rigging are missing.
From the design of the ship, we can see that it is a long-ranged artilleryship with a large vertical-axis maingun at the front. A large reflector and combustion chamber sits underneath the conical sheathing, while the optical apparatus of the gun is at the top.
A fire controller sits in the tower alongside the apparatus and aims the gun with the help of a telescope; a necessity with ranges reaching multiple miles. The fire controller ignites the main charge using either a lanyard from the tower to a gunlock mechanism on the deck below, or a small flintlock incender aimed directly at the charge in the flash chamber. Due to the pitching and rolling motion of the ship, long-range accuracy is impossible to achieve if fire commands have to be relayed to igniter crew below as is often done on land.
The lower part of the maingun turret containing the flash chamber and reflector impinges on deck space below, reducing the number of available rowers. Similarly, the mast and sail are limited by the need not to foul the maingun. To compensate, the ship is likely very lightly built despite looking like a fortress of metal, and a wavepiercer in the front increases the waterline length (it is not a ram: the maingun apparatus could be easily damaged by the impacts involved in ramming). If possible, the mast and rigging are left behind at a friendly port before heading to battle.
Secondary armament of smaller long-range lenscannons, possibly cinderguns, is visible in the front below the maingun tower. The signaler is visible on top of the aftcastle. The ship is designed to fight outside the effective range of ballguns to protect its sensitive maingun, so the defensive armament along the sides is unlikely to feature short-range weapons such as firethrowers. Long-range ballguns are possible, but the position of firing ports directly below the maingun tower where there would be no space for a ballgun to recoil implies that at least some of the broadside consists of compact lenscannons.
The ship is sheathed in a relatively corrosion-resistant brass alloy throughout, including under the waterline where the copper content prevents biofouling, permitting higher speeds and reduced maintenance. The deck is plated over, indicating that this is a more recent design; early plateships had open decks, making them extemely vulnerable to an arms race of ever taller mainguns shooting over their side plating. While extremely effective against magical weapons, the plating is too thin to be helpful against ballguns.

Masya TWD - Concepts
I mentioned in one of my posts that I started watching TWD, and with that came the brilliant idea to make me and my friends into the universe for fun. I just thought it would be interesting to debate about, since the first seasons of TWD heavily rely on people's relationships, etc.
I sketched my friend Masy first, because I had the energy and they are fun to draw. I always asked what weapon - any - they would use in zombie apocalypse. Masya chose a firethrower. Interesting choice. Better than my other friend choosing a pan.
Tumblr media
I also decided to add to each one of us one or more characters that we would probably chill with (let me live in delusion). For Masya, I thought they'd like primarily Glenn and Daryl.
RIP

Siegfried's telling Kacchan to calm down (ಥ‿ಥ) He knows he's freaking out of his mind rn (ಥ‿ಥ)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Are they planning to go inside with Kacchan?? Well that actually sounds much more assuring but how about this outside Primal then???
Or they're just planning to help him get close to the crack??
Tumblr media
Thank you for trusting my son (ಥ‿ಥ)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pffff yeah sure, if your voive doesn't actually sound so frustrated (ಥ‿ಥ)
Everyone is now brainstorming for a plan to change the situation because they can't even get close to the primal at this point.
Then Siegfried pointed out that maybe the black substance is oozing all over the place because Misiah wants to cover for her cracking wound.
So Izuku's previous attack actually caused more damage than how it seems eh?
Siegfried say that they can focus on that crack with ✨️teamwork✨️
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm thankful that we still have someone at their right mind to lead the situation in all this mess 🙏
So they were taking turns to attack and distract Misiah enough so that the others can get closer to her, with sword slashes, falling rocks, human sling, firethrower and gamma ray and a lot of explosions etc.
However Misiah reacted so fast and she blocked all their attack somehow?? Say-- if you have this level of reflection, how could you get that crack in the first place??
Despite all their efforts, it just seems like an endless cycle of fail attempts at this point oh no
Tumblr media
She's coughing?! Is Izuku also kicking very hard right now??
That gave Kacchan a chance to attack her and it works for the first time! \o/ Now they decide to sync their inside and outside attacks from now on, somehow, someway, but that's the plan!

[ad_1] Flames flickered in all directions as thousands upon thousands of people baring blazing torches paraded through Scotland’s capital city. Squeezing my way through the slow-moving crowds condensed into Edinburgh’s medieval Old Town to reach the front of the procession, I was overcome with awe rather than anxiety. Tonight marked the beginning of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay, perhaps the world’s best New Year’s Eve celebration. Over the next three days, rituals, parties, and fire-illuminated nights would take over Scotland as they do annually, inviting the world to begin a new year with an unforgettable roar — and I felt beyond lucky to be here witnessing it all play out. The word Hogmanay itself refers to the New Year’s Eve all-night party hosted on the 31st of December. However, many of the fire-focused traditions that make up the event are believed to date back to 8th-century Viking invaders, borrowing inspiration from old Norse winter solstice celebrations. History aside, it’s quite a spectacle; Edinburgh serves as a perfect backdrop for some masks, madness and medieval firethrowing. If you’re visiting Europe in winter and at a loss for celebrating the New Year, it doesn’t get much better than this — here’s the low down of what to expect from the main events between the 30th of December (there are some other, smaller festivities also scheduled), right up to the charity plunge on the January 1st. Good to know: changes to Edinburgh’s Hogmanay in 2023/2024 Below, you’ll find an overview of what to expect from Edinburgh’s Hogmanay. However, be aware there have been a few changes since I last attended the event. These were partly caused by cancellations and changes during the pandemic (which were never reinstated) but also by some activities pulling out of the official Hogmanay programme altogether, citing increasing costs and what some organisers see as the over-commercialisation of the event. I’ve added notes where you might notice some changes. Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Torchlight Procession When: 30th December 2023 from 18:00 Where: In 2023, the route begins in the Meadows and ends in Edinburgh’s centre — in all previous years, the parade started on the Royal Mile and ended in Holyrood Park with the formation of the aerial torch pattern. Costs and tickets: Free to watch from afar. However, to join the procession, get a torch, and really enjoy the experience, you’ll need to buy a ticket in advance. If there was one moment of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay I had been waiting years to experience, this was it. The Torchlight Procession was a major bucket list tick for me, more so than the actual bells and fireworks of the official New Year’s Eve celebration in the park. Led by performers dressed in traditional Celtic and Viking-esque costumes and masks, flaming batons and daredevil fire tricks illuminate the head of the 20,000-strong crowd — with the city’s residents and visitors following behind, torches ablaze. The streets are crammed with onlookers as the parade continues all the way down the Royal Mile to Holyrood Park. Most participants in the procession will have a torch, but it’s equally exciting just to watch the night unfold from the sides and join the free party later on in the evening. Being in the media pool (I regularly work for Edinburgh Festivals), I was lucky enough to have a front-row seat with the other photographers as we ran ahead of the procession, turning to snap and film whenever the fire wasn’t fast approaching us. Still, I’m desperate to come back again another year to get stuck into the magic of it all and not be restrained by my camera. That said, drummers, bagpipe players and pyro-artists create a dramatic impression at the head of the group, which is something you won’t witness if you’re in the parade itself. Flame wheels, juggling torches, and other performers keep the energy high, which is important given the parade can take hours to complete.
The crowds gather in Holyrood Park to create the image from above By 21:00, Holyrood Park is packed with torchbearers who follow strategically staged paths to create an image not visible at ground level. Behind, the flames gliding down the streets of the Old Town continue; it’s simply far too many people to arrive in good time. Every year, an ‘image from above’ is created in Holyrood Park by the torchbearers, and in 2019, it was that of two people holding hands, the international sign of friendliness. At 21:00 on the dot, a hovering helicopter photographs the moment, and the defined photos are then projected onto screens around the park. After this, Holyrood Park, in all its muddy glory, erupts into a massive party — is there really anything more Scottish? — with live bands and everyone getting into the spirit of the evening. Although I was there on my own, I certainly think it would be suitable for kids, with plenty of places to slide off to, such as sitting on the hills around Arthurs Seat for some excellent views. The music continued for a few hours, and a firework display was scheduled for around 10 pm. It’s tempting to keep going to the early hours — but with tomorrow being the main event, it’s best to save some energy! The party carries on in the park for a few hours after Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Street Party & Concert In The Gardens When: 31st December from 20:00 (earlier events happen for families with younger children). Main fireworks at midnight. Where: The main party is in Princes Street Gardens, but the ‘arena’ area spills out to the street, up the mound, and even onto the Royal Mile Costs and tickets: From £28.50 (Street Party) and from £72.50 (Concert in the Gardens). They are two separate tickets, and one will not give you access to the other areas. Using the term ‘street party’ to describe this evening event at Edinburgh’s Hogmanay is a bit of an understatement — it’s huge, and the event covers a vast area in the gardens, surrounding streets and even up into the Royal Mile, known as the ‘arena’. It varies in size from year to year, but there are many stages and different parts of the event you can enjoy, with varying ticket prices to reflect this. This year’s (2023/2024) celebration is the 30th anniversary of this huge party, and PULP is heading the concert in Princes Street Gardens. If you aren’t fussed about the concert itself, you can still experience many of the surrounding events and street performers by buying the lower-priced Street Party Ticket. Most people will start with a dinner in town, but beware that reservations and patience are needed given the popularity of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay. For those with younger families, there are children-friendly events and entertainment in the gardens earlier in the day, including an early-hours firework show for the little ones. The main concert part of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay takes place in Princes Street Gardens, where the main stage is on the left and the Ceilidh under the Castle dance area on the right. The Ceilidh under the Castle is the more traditional part of the evening, where local bands, bagpipes and fiddles are up on stage, and everyone else jigs and dances with great laughter in front of them. With Edinburg Castle illuminated up above, it’s a great place to enjoy if you want a more traditional evening, with slightly fewer crowds to the street party. On the street, which comes down from The Mound and onto Princes Street, there are various podiums set up with different acts, bands, and dancers performing throughout the night. In the midst of this, street performers, from jugglers to gigantic robots, are also coming through the crowds, getting everyone fired up. The midnight fireworks are a huge affair around the castle When I arrived shortly after 19:30, it was still relatively quiet, but by 21:00, the streets were getting bustling. For those without tickets to the gardens, and only the street party, this is a popular place to watch the huge midnight fireworks.
Alongside the street party, there are a few different stages set up on side streets and up toward the Royal Mile. Bands are performing here, as well as the main stage, so wherever you spend your Hogmanay, you’re sure to have some good tunes and great company to celebrate with. This year, a whole street was even closed off for a silent disco, allowing those attendees to pick their own tunes to party the night away, too. Down on the main stage of Princes Street Gardens is where the more famous acts will perform, building up throughout the night until the main act at 23:00, which will also usher in the New Year with a soundtrack to the fireworks. In 2019, acts including Rudimental and then Mark Ronson performed for the main show, and he even brought Daniel Merriweather along for the ride. In 2023, PULP will headline. At midnight, a huge fireworks show begins from the castle, and it’s a genuinely epic performance set to the beats and soundtrack of the performers below. The fireworks performance lasts a substantial amount of time, and as with everything Edinburgh Festivals do, it’s show-stopping! The party in the gardens continues until around 1 am when things start slowing down. After this, there are plenty of after-parties or clubs around town, but be sure to have purchased your tickets in advance or check when the last entrances are for the few venues without ticketed events. One thing that amazed me was walking home around 2 am; the amount of trash and litter everywhere was insane. But by the time I left my hotel the next morning, it was all cleaned up and spotless, and even half of the stages were already packed away. Traditional bands and dance takes place in a separate part of the gardens There are rightly concerns about the environmental impact the 11 huge Edinburgh Festivals bring to the city and how they change the dynamic of the UNESCO-listed city, and while I agree they don’t get everything perfect (the damage from the Christmas Market to the gardens this year, for example) — I was pleased with how efficient and hard working the team was throughout the night to collect all the rubbish. The Loony Dook takes place on the beautiful streets of South Queensferry The Loony Dook Dip When: 1st January from 14:00 (times can vary) Where: South Queensferry, a gorgeous place outside the city centre Costs and tickets: Free to watch, £12 to take part (which I find criminally high, even if part is for charity) *2023 Update: The Loony Dock Dip (which has been happening long before it became an official part of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay programme, was suspended for two years due to COVID. In 2023, the organisers decided not to remain a part of the official programme, supposedly because of being unhappy with the high ticket charges and how commercialised the event had become. I do believe it will still happen on January 1st 2024, but likely in a more toned-down and local way than since my last attendance. If you are feeling mad or brave or just want a way to kick the hangover, then drag yourself out of bed and head down to South Queensferry for a traditional Scottish start to the New Year. South Queensferry is a little out of Edinburgh, but it’s a really beautiful village and somewhere all visitors to the city should try and see at any time of year. With adorable old colourful houses and fantastic views of the iconic Forth Bridge, it’s a fantastic setting for the Loony Dook Dip. This parade of people in fancy dress goes all down the high street before the Dookers head down to the rocky beach for their drip in the cold waters. While it’s a charity fundraising event, the current organisers are changing £12 to take part and capping the number of attendees, which is a shame, given the water wasn’t exactly full up and it’s meant to be a fun and community-focused event. If you don’t want to take part, as many (wise) people prefer to stay warm, you can grab a coffee and enjoy the madness from the sidelines.
Over the hour or so, all these people charge into the water in their crazy costumes, and hopefully, it’s all worth it as the cold water washes the hangover away! Message from the Skies When: 1st January from dusk Where: Various locations around Edinburgh Costs and tickets: Free, locations throughout the city *2023 Update: Messages from the Skies have not as yet been confirmed for inclusion in Edinburgh’s Hogmanay programme for 2023/2024. I hope it returns, as it’s a nice, mellow way to wrap up the party. What has been confirmed so far for January 1st 2024, is First Footin’, a live music event in pubs and venues across the city, which first debuted on Edinburgh’s Hogmanay programme in 2022. Every year (so far!), on the 1st of January, the ‘Message from the Skies’ projections start popping up across Edinburgh and last for nearly the whole month of January. If you’re looking for a brisk walk to clear your hangover and are only in town for a few days over Hogmanay, then from dusk on New Year’s Day, they can be enjoyed. Projected onto various different landmarks and historic buildings across the city, each year, the words and projections are related to a different theme. This year, the ones I saw were related to race, history, and colonialism, and as always, I am glad to see Scotland not shying away from this discussion, ones that the UK should be having more of, in my opinion. Edinburgh isn’t just dishing out the festivities on New Year’s Eve, though; there are actually eleven different festivals throughout the year, from the world-famous Fringe and The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo to lesser-known ones such as the awesome Jazz and Blues Festival, complete with a carnival, and the traditional storytelling festival. I’ve been lucky enough to attend nearly all of the eleven festivals now while working with Festivals Edinburgh over the years. Here’s my quick guide to the eleven Edinburgh Festivals, a brief lowdown on the five Edinburgh Festivals in August, and how to plan a foodie weekend in Edinburgh no matter when you visit. Enjoy the festival city; it’s truly one of my favourite places in the world! The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo (August) is one of the eleven festivals in Edinburgh [ad_2] Source link

𝐭𝐞𝐚 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞. / @mnstcrbnll ↳ ☕ debs to firetruck
it's a small, very dark cup the one that is handed to him, plain and simple if not for the team's logo printed on a side of it. inside, the tea is black like the night, not letting him see the base of the cup despite its little size —— but the most interesting aspect of it to him is the vapor rising quickly from it, as if escaping from its surface to reach the more comfortable cool of the air. the tea is hot. burning hot. so hot to make the cup itself boiling, enough to scald his fingertips as they take it up.
he smiles. it hurts so wonderfully, making them shiver ever so slightly, the only eye twitching in glee. he takes his time, letting the hotness of the ceramic burn his fingertips just a bit more, his tongue flickering between the lips in anticipation. then, all of a sudden, he brings the cup to the lips and gulp it down in one go.
the liquid runs down his throat without him even tasting it. he doesn't care, that is not the important part. what he cares about is just feeling the heat, that liquid fire running in his mouth, down his throat, into his stomach, boiling and burning his tongue. in a few instants the tea is gone, and the cup placed back on the table by unsteady hands. his only eye closed, tears running down his cheek while little puffs of vapor come out of his lips with every fast breath, like a fire-type pokémon after using firethrower. the broken laugh is almost obvious, when it comes after the first moment of ecstasy, one hand covering the lips as if attempting somewhat to cover the act. the other one, still clenching the cup, unsteadily moves it towards the teapot.
« m-m-more... » he whispers —— he begs, twitching as if having a withdrawal, the laugh stronger and more unsteady by the second. he needs more of that burning. he-he needs it, he needs it, he needs it. « more more more more more...! ».

the thing about shounen is that it is a genre with a teenage audience, where the teenage main characters are usually the driving force of the action. adults (both villains and "good guys") will attempt to use and manipulate them and their efforts, but ultimately the teens are the driving force of the narrative and the ones adults end up relying on to save the world. i've seen people complain about it but it's a power fantasy for teens, being given that responsibility and trust and adults being forced to rely on them! there're a reason kids and teens fucking love that shit!!!!
in part 1 denji was the youngest character, thrust into an adult world, abused and manipulated by adults. now he and asa are in the Typical Shounen Setting of high school, and you'd expect the teen cast to be the driving force now. but they're not!! they're the main characters but..... their every action is undercut or interrupted, they are ALL being used and manipulated by adults, mocked for trying to change anything. asa being groomed by her teacher and the orphanage woman drowning her cat, yuko's bullying never being addressed by the school until she breaks down, the tv presentator mocking iseumi for wanting a change, public safety and firethrower guy both forcing denji into roles and actions he does not necessarily want with no choice, and now the latest public safety nail guy mocking the kids and telling them to go back to studying.... again and again teen characters are told their role is to stay quiet and be fed into the capitalist machine, and stand still as devils murder their families and friends and ruin their lives. they are told to study to become good little capitalist stooges, nevermind how many of them live in poverty and can't afford university and are themselves resorting to dangerous jobs in order to be able to eat.
the cult is....... dangerous and horrifying and it's so so clever that the vast majority are kids who are ANGRY and who want to fight back. they're again being manipulated and used by adults (who set up the church and the guns and the marriage system to use them as cannon fodder and cheap resources) but they ran into that one because they truly believed it might be the only place where they would be free of the condescension and oppression of adults, which is tragic because it was the opposite!!! and now they've been framed, and captured, and told they need to go back to studying and becoming capitalist stooges (unless they talk back. then they're murdered violently).
like..... the reason so many of these kids look up to chainsaw man, i believe, is bc they all know he's a teen himself. don't know who he really is but look at how yuko reacted when she realized the great chainsaw man is in her high school!!! he's that shounen and superhero empowerment for teens come to life! he doesn't need adults and saves the world and destroys the devils that killed their families!
and meanwhile.... you have asa, the face of the church, who is living an empty and frustrated life, who is given love and admiration for the first time through the church and from her peers--she was denied connection to her peers for so long, and now she finally got it! and she just lost it because the church is going to collapse, and what's going to happen to her? and you have denji, who actually WANTED the quiet simple capitalist life of working hard in exchange for food and his sister being able to study, and who is given impossible choices instead over and over again, who is the Great Chainsaw Man who is supposedly powerful and free from adult intervention but who instead is still recovering from the abuse he suffered from makima, who is being currently abused and surveilled by government agents (including one who is sexually abusive in similar ways to makima), whose agency is once again being stolen and blackmailed against. even chainsaw man, the symbol of youth fighting against both devil and human oppression, turns out to be powerless in this system! how fucking sad is that....
the world is ending and falling apart, everyone can see it and everybody knows it, but kids are told their sole role is to shut up and let themselves be eaten alive and not complain about it. now it's gonna turn out their one outlet will have been another force used to hurt them and put them in their place. how many of these kids and students are going to end up wanting the end of the world to come, praying for its arrival? they know they're being fed to an aging machine that's about to collapse and no matter how much they struggle they get squeezed harder. how many of them will give up and wish for the machine to just collapse and end all of them already?
anyhow hey guys, this fire punch spiritual sequel is shaping up nicely, what do you think
so much in part 2 so far is about kids being denied agency and self-determination while being fed to the wolves as they see the world and the future they're told to work hard at building crumble before their very eyes

Naval warfare: shiny ships rowing the seas
Just like the lensgonne's invention changed land warfare dramatically over the following centuries, the invention of large-scale lenscannons capable of damaging and destroying ships resulted in fundamental changes to how war is waged on the seas. Away with the great carracks and galleons just begging to be blown and burnt to bits, in with the mirror-polished plateships.
Sails and rigging are dreadfully vulnerable to magic, meaning that warships are invariably oar-powered in battle and only use sails for travel. Galleys aren't the best on the high seas, but such is the nature of modern warfare.
To fill the great numbers of oarsmen needed, various solutions have been found. The Gilded City uses copious quantities of slaves, free of religious prohibitions on enslaving your enlightened fellows. Some nations send practically all of their convicts to the oars. Others utilise a semi-free caste of galearides with a feudal bond to naval service, whose status, unusually, is inherited by all male children instead of only the eldest. A few are able to rely entirely on free rowers.
To protect themselves from magic, warships are invariably clad in polished mirrorplate from the waterline to the top of the fo'c's'le, enveloping everyone above and below deck with the exception of necessary oar, firing and observation ports; even those are often shielded with chains, movable shutters etc. to the extent practicable. The material varies, balancing the priorities of magical and physical protection, ease of maintenance, cost, availability, and so on. Leaf gold reflects brilliantly without tarnish but gets stripped at the slightest contact. Iron helps protect against projectiles but corrodes easily. Brass is often a balanced choice. Copper alloys are beneficial below the waterline as well. The nature of noble metals to harm ignoble metals just like they harm magical beasts is another relevant consideration.
To keep this plating reflective is a matter of life and death, much to the consternation of the sailors the polishing duty falls on. A common test is for the captain to fire his pistol at the most tarnished spot he sees; if the spell does not reflect away someone is in terrible trouble.
The strategies of survival are uniform, but the methods of offence vary broadly.
A ship with a maingun replaces the fo'c's'le with a great lenscannon turret, posing a terrible threat to civilian ships, land targets, and tarnished mirrorships. An imposing maingun is a great way to show you're swinging the biggest stick on the seas, even if its effect against undamaged mirrorships is negligible; water being reflective, indirect fire does not work like it does on land. Some of the largest mainguns are built vertically, with a concentrating reflector like a shiny salad bowl and a rotating and pivoting apparatus above for aiming. The height advantage was particularly useful in the times of open decks; at a sufficiently close distance a tall maingun could mission kill an uncovered plateship in just a few shots from above. The effects on the centre of gravity by a tall, armoured turret are concerning, though.
Incenders (also cinderguns or senders) are smaller lenscannons with a sigil of conflagration to attack sails or other vulnerable parts.
A signaler is like a raygonne on a mount, designed for the maximum range and accuracy at the expense of destructive effect, used to fire warning shots or pick off any exposed individuals.
Misericordes (or cords) are shorter-range lenscannons that are fast and easy to pivot to exploit damaged parts of enemy ships.
Firethrowers pump a viscous, flammable fluid onto opposing ships, aiming to defeat their mirrorplating with non-magical means.
Ballguns have limited range and accuracy, but their weight is less of an issue on the seas and their ability to harm untarnished mirrorplate with direct fire is beneficial so they're seeing increasing adoption.
Catapults of all varieties can perform plunging fire with harmful projectiles, exploiting the often weaker nature of roof plating.
Marines can perform and repel boarding attempts, but there is no hope of swimming in brightplate if you fall overboard.
Rams can be employed especially by lighter and faster ships to attack physically, and oarbreakers can render the largest ships immobile and outmaneuverable.
