Wait ok monngos ask is also making me think in general abt kanako and chujins magic. I want to know what type of bullet patterns they have. Whether they have any cool abilities like cerobas hp depletion or starlos slow-motion. Whether they even HAD strong magical abilities at all. I must know.
#this reminds me when I first got into undertale I had a similar curiosity w/ alphys. since u never fight her#(except in asriels battle but its just reused mtt stuff)#so I watched one of those fanmade battles on yt and I was convinced for at least a year that was an actual hidden alphys fight in the game.#does check out that she would use the same stuff as mtt tho since she built his body ofc#but like chujin and kanako we really have no idea#we can assume they share at least a few motifs w ceroba bc of familial connection (like toriel and asgore)#I wonder if chujins would involve like an boxes full of equipment attack like martlets. reflecting his craftsmanship#then over time his attacks change to more robotic based ones like axis’s or something to show his change in priorities/profession#and the kanako fire idea is so cool thank u monngo.

anyways not to complain about work on christmas, BUT. my coordinator asked me on monday if our new hires knew how to do [PART OF JOB] yet, and i told her no. and rather than take that at face value, she just updated thursday's job to be like "make sure the new hires have the equipment to do [PART OF JOB]" like.
okay but i don't want them to. i don't want them to do that yet. they aren't ready for it. they won't be good at it. you're shoving them into this job because we're understaffed and need extra manpower, but having to train these new hires to do this job is actually going to take 3 hours longer than just not having them come along at all.
"on paper, this job is doable with this many workers for this amount of time" okay well in real life where the job actually happens, you've put me in a position where i have to make these guys do something they're not trained on, and then i have to sign my name saying it was done properly and to standard. fuck off.

hey. hey. hey. hey. hey so in ff16 they give you a flash step that goes forward but when you're a big monster (happens for setpiece boss fights only) they give you a roller skating move that goes sideways instead. but then there's a fight where they give your monster form a forwards flash step too.
and IN THAT SAME BOSS FIGHT, you need to do it Twice in a row to close the distance between "outside the big AOE attack" and "guy you need to punch after he does the AOE" & this sums up basically everything you need to know about how AGGRESSIVELY MEDIOCRE the combat really is in this game.
anybody who tells you it's good is either lying or is remembering 1 of like 2 and a half really nicely-tuned fights, one of which was optional. and the health bars were still too fucking stubborn in all of them.
#this is not a Dark Soul Get Good situation it's a 'okay. okay. okay I get it. okay. OKAY' type of thing#clive can't decide whether to have fun Big Steppy mobility or to be a grounded sword fighterman who has to aim carefully.#every Important Fight lasts 20 goddamn minutes and has MAYBE 10 minutes of material in it.#you can only equip 2x3 elemental attacks at once (WHY!!!) and if you want to mix and match more than 3 elements#you have to spend an INORDINATE NUMBER of skill points to do that.#rando 'ten soldiers' type enemies melt like butter under your fire AOE to the point that they implemented waves#to stop you from trivializing EVERY fight out in the field. yet somehow EVERY BOSS can take like 30 of those and still not DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!#and if YOU die because you got SO BORED that you STOPPED CARING ENOUGH to NOT DIE#there's no way to restart WITHOUT BONUS HEALS except to quit out to the main menu and load your save.#DESIGN BY COMMITTEE. MMO GRINDSET. WHO PLAYTESTED THIS. I'M GOING TO START BITING.

I got to a boss fight in trails sc last night that started frame 1 with a full party instant kill before you like, even actually get to look at the map. unironically hilarious.
