Hi Megan! Just curious but did you sell your previous a5 filofax covers? /i just thought they were still around so I was surprised when you pulled out the plastic one.
i sold two to my neighbour because he wanted something to organise his model train documents (lol) but i still have the a5 original. the profile of the original is enormous so it's not ideal for me at the moment (as mentioned in the video) but i've held onto it just in case

Hi!!! First of all can I just say how much I LOVE your page?!? I don’t really have a question, I just wanted to post some story ideas that I had that I thought you might enjoy.
Story ideas
Shaggy is a typical loner guy at school, not necessarily emo, he just prefers the company of animals (especially his dog Scooby Doo) Daphne is the popular girl (of course) but she sees Shaggy sitting underneath a tree during lunch birdwatching and eating a comically large sandwich. Let’s just say he’s piqued her interest. (Sort of like a Kristoff/Anna dynamic)
Shaggy becomes Commander Cool (for some unexplained reason that I never thought through) and Velma is the only person he tells because Fred is out of town for the time being, and Daphne can’t keep a secret to save her life. Velma agrees to he his “guy in the chair” (think Wade from Kim Possible) and assists him from her desk at home. While he struggles at first, he eventually starts to get the hang of crime fighting. One day, Daphne gets caught in a bank robbery and CC comes in to save the day. After seeing Commander Cool in action Daphne begins to wonder who this masked avenger really is.
Shaggy and Daphne have been dating for nearly a month now and they’re still the hottest topic of gossip at school. “What does she see in that toothpick?” “Ugh, she could do SO much better.” “She must have lost a bet or something.” “Either that or she’s doing it out of pity.” Needless to say, even someone, who can laugh at himself as much as Shaggy can, has his breaking point. But what can his loving girlfriend do if all he can say is, “I’m fine”?
Shaggy and Daphne are excited for Fiction Con (pretty much like Comic Con but copyright friendly, I know I’m so original) Daphne doesn’t tell anyone she’s going (she’s got a reputation to uphold) but Shaggy is letting everyone and anyone know he’s going and he’s proud of it! The day of the con, Shaggy goes in his Commander Cool cosplay and while he’s looking through the different booths and events, he comes face to face with the most beautiful girl he’s ever seen, in a Wonder Lass cosplay (In this universe, there is a female superhero named Wonder Lass who sometimes assists Commander Cool in crime fighting, it’s been a common theory among the CC fandom that Commander Cool and Wonder Lass will end up together.) Will Shaggy find out who this mysterious girl is before the 3-day con ends?
Sorry if this was a long post I just wanted to get these out there and share them with someone who loves Shaphne as much as I do. And maybe (just maybe) it can get other people’s creativity pumping and they’ll share their own stories and ideas.
Thank you so much! Keep up the great work!!
Actually these are all 5 star ideas and I'm honored that you're willing to share them with me. I love the idea of playing with the gang as a vigilante justice squad. I guess that's technically what they are IN CANON but like I would love to write them as like a spiderman type crime fighting gang. Shaggy would absolutely slay as the unwilling hero that is accidentally so good at it that he has to keep doing it even though he hates it. And I am weak for any sort of "helping them patch up their wounds" scene. Like, yall imagine that scene with Peter and Gwen in the first asm but with Shag and Daph??? UGH. That's good stuff.
I HAVE been writing but I'm a crippling perfectionist at like the Stanley Kubrick level, so I keep proofreading drafts to hone them to their ultimate form. These ideas will be stored away in the mental filofax for suuurrrreee but they may not see the light of day until I'm old and decrepit 💅💅💅
Or who knows I may post it tomorrow... you never know how productive you'll be as a fanfic writer 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️

Witam! I had been lurking in the studyblr community before I left Tumblr a few years ago. Yet here I come again and hope I still fit since I'm not a student anymore. I hope we'll get along!
About
I'm Karolina and I'm 27 years old.
From Poland (with love ♡).
INTJ & 5w6 / 8w9
I'm a graduate of two Master degrees: 1) International Relations in Asia 2) Russian & Central Asian Studies. I'm currently writing two theses and hopefully finish them by December.
Next, I want to enroll in PhD program and focus on politics, economy and markets in East and Southeast Asia.
In the meantime I'm looking for a job in the field. I'm thinking of an analyst of the area (just Asia or better Eurasia so it would cover both my degrees), but mixing it with academic path, so while pursuing PhD degree.
One of my hobbies are foreign languages! Over time of my education I've managed to learn English, French, Russian and I'm still learning Japanese (currently at B1+ level). I used to learn Mandarin Chinese, but I intend to get back to it at some point. Also, I'm interested in picking Korean.
I like learning often just for sake of it since my mind needs to be constantly on the go (it gave me sleepless nights several times). It could be picking some textbook (I learnt bases of macroeconomics by myself), doing some online quizes on all seas, gulfs and straits or reading a popular history/science books (because of the Oppenheimer movie, I bought "The Making of the Atomic Bomb" by Richard Rhodes and yes, that's my current read!). I just enjoy it.
I have a never-ending books list on my Goodreads account (2600+ and counting). I like nonfiction (history, biography, political science, business, economics, you name it) and catching up on classics. Also, a h u g e Nabokov fan.
I'm one of these people who need to write everything down, from day schedule, important dates and tasks to all kinds of lists, trackers and brain dump. My Filofax is with me everywhere I go.
In general, I tend to be super-organized and put together. That applies to my daily or at least weekly schedule, surroundings or appearance - otherwise I can't properly focus.
I can't live without good coffee and I'm very picky about it.
Blog
The plan is to make it more personal by posting original content: hopefully daily, realistically a few times per week - mostly covering my writing proccess and languages learning, but also other random things. I intend to reblog some posts too, but I wish to keep the balance between that and OC.

Fountain pen ink bottle: $4 /ea
pocket sized sketchbooks or notebooks $2 (yellow & brown strathmore drawing/sketch are bundled together for $2)
The three larger sketchbooks are all $5 /ea
various mini canvas packs $3 / ea
acrylic paint pad $8 BNNU
mixed media toned paper pad $6
gel print and roller $8
tortilla pencil roll $2
cheapie brushes bundle (seriously these are CHEAP brushes, they aren't good quality. they're meant for watercolor or acrylic, and I keep cheapies on hand for things like applying masking glue, gesso, spattering, yknow...there's all kinds of reasons why you want sort of terrible brushes. the handles can mix stuff. any time you might end up destroying the good brushes, these are the sacrificial lambs!) $3 for all of them.
brushes box $14 BNNU
brush washer, paint keys (bundle), sanding sponges, letters stencil, clip-on cups to hold medium -- $3 /ea
golden open acrylics set BN swatched and tested like once, got some oil paints on tube but otherwise great. this is the traditional colors set of 6. $30
palette paper (white) BNNU $8
soho, grumbacher, & turner watercolor bundle: $15
marie's gouaches bundle and storage box I had them in $6
Lukas gouache bundle $25
QOR watercolor (remaining paint in squeezed out tubes (1 tube missing), and the paint poured out into a funky pink pill box with a cool skeleton on the front and washi tape decoration. the watercolors left to dry in the pill box rewet nicely. $15
union square watercolor pad $6
Filofax Original A5 size organizer in Dark Aqua WITH loads of interior pages - some bought from an online etsy shop (in rainbow colors, "QUESTS" instead of "to-do lists" and "heart" boxes, plus regular white or colored lined papers as well. it's stuffed full!) No actual calendar pages but does have numbered dividers with tabs. $130
pencils box $2
that white palette $3
art supply carrier tote bag thingy $10. it does have like, graphite, pastel smudging on the insides and all of that, but honestly you're just going to add more, right?
NOTE ON GOUACHES AND WATERCOLORS:
I will not do returns for dried gouache or watercolor in the tubes. Some of them will need to be reworked! (like I can hear one of the marie's gouaches rattling inside the tube, lol)
The fix to a dried out or drying out watercolor/gouache is incredibly simple: add water. You can cut open the tube to act as a cup, or cut them open and pour them out into a plastic paint cub or reused glass/plastic cup with lid. or right into a palette. add just enough water to fully soak the dried paint. wait a few days for it to soften up. add more water as necessary. if it's still a bit thick, you can add a drop of plain glycerin to the paint and mix it in to help it retain the moisture it's soaking in. this will also make it easier to rewet as you go on.
I will say the lukas gouaches all appear squishy still in tubes, the acrylics are perfect, and the sohos/turner seem mostly fine, but there's some they may need re-constituting and the marie's may have some dry ones as well. lastly, the QOR's don't have much left actually inside the tubes, so you might want to cut the tubes open anyways to paint directly from. they're nice paints tho, and i of course am bundling with where i poured all the paint into.
also: sorry the lighting is weirdly yellowy. I laid out a white curtain that I am not currently using to try and take pictures on and it's just...this whole house has terrible lighting in every room lol. i promise you those curtains are white.
these can't be shipped media mail, so just keep that in mind!

Now Then Magazine - A Magazine for Sheffield
Russell Senior: Freaking Out The Squares by Ebony Nembhard, JANUARY 2016 Original article here
Released almost two decades after he left Pulp and over four years since the reunion back in 2011, Freak Out The Squares: Life In A Band Called Pulp is Russell Senior's honest and witty depiction of his life in Pulp, which details various encounters throughout his time in the band, through uphill struggles and the dizzy heights of stardom. "It probably reads as if it was written very quickly, but it took a long time to write. I mean, it's a bit like writing a pop song. You know, those effortless, three-minute, naturally seamless songs. It takes a lot of craft to make things sound effortless," says Russell in between taking sips from his pint.
What was the initial driving force behind your decision to publicly release such personal, intimate thoughts in the form of an autobiography? And why now? It was a book I always felt I should write, but it was too close to the events and I suppose I had too much baggage at certain points. I kind of thought somebody ought to write it and that I'd probably be the best person to write it. However, the thing that really spurred it was the reunion tour in 2011. I was keeping a diary over the course of that, and so throughout that journey it prompted quite a lot of reflection on the whole shebang. So I had my structure - my diary - and I got transported into that other world when I was writing about it. It was such a natural thing. And y'know, the story of Pulp is this big - the chronicle would be an incredibly tedious thing - and the other thing was, try not to say anything to horrible. The story of Pulp is a rambling, epic tale. I've been pressed at various point to 'expose'. Expose what? I'd have to be hyping it up, certainly in terms of shagging groupies. This was not going on to any extent. I mean, Pulp were quite prudish, not prudish but perhaps more respectful towards women. I mean, the women around were our friends, not prey. People always want that reveal, like shagging groupies and crocodiles at the same time. In a way I wish we had. One of my great regrets is getting to the age of 30 and having a partner before any offers really came my way. The reality is, we weren't shagging groupies, we were doing our ironing.
How crazy did the prospect of a reunion seem after 14 years? It was an alien intrusion on my life, as my life had very firmly put that behind. I mean, the first time I typed 'Pulp' into the internet was when I was researching this book, after I'd written it, to get some of my facts straight. I'd had no idea if they'd split up or not, so I'd really switched off from it. I also coincidentally lost my filofax shortly after leaving, so all the people that I might have been in contact with, you know the guys from Suede that I got on with or whatever, I didn't. I kind of fell off a cliff completely, and then all of a sudden there's this guy saying come back to this thing. On the one hand it's very frightening, but on the other hand it's like, 'Oh, but what if?' I miss the buzz of going on stage. It's frightening - simultaneous panic and temptation.
You discovered Pulp through reviewing one of their shows back in 1980 for your fanzine and ended up joining three years later in '83. Did you envisage becoming a part of the group back then? What were your initial thoughts of Pulp? They weren't the group I wanted to join, to be honest. They weren't my favourite group in Sheffield. In a way, I didn't join the band, as they had actually split up. I did a play that had Jarvis in it and started doing music again, which is how it all started. So in a way, to me there's a complete separation between those two incarnations of Pulp. Obviously, to someone else it doesn't seem like that, but for me it does. There were ten other groups in Sheffield that if they'd asked me to join them, I would have bitten their arm off. As for Pulp at the time, I thought they were sort of a pleasing, entertaining comedy band and then they went all windy and po-faced, and I didn't like that at all. In short, I didn't really take them very seriously.
You famously left Pulp back in 1997, at the height of the band's newly found fame and mainstream success. Would you do things differently second time around? No. It was like a weight was lifted from me. I was no longer defined by being in this band and was able do other stuff, have a family life. I really don't regret it, and I suppose nowadays, I might not have had the courage to do that. I think it was a brave thing to do, like that cartoon, Roadrunner. He walks off the end of a cliff without realising, then he looks down and sees this drop. In a way it feels like I was doing that, walking off the end of a cliff, but it was okay in the end.
Back in 2012, you co-wrote Two Tribes with Ralph Razor, a musical about the miners' strike of '84. You also became heavily involved in industrial action yourself on the frontline at the time. How have your political interests influenced your music? That's a good one, a difficult one and one that I'm not sure exactly how to answer. I think in Pulp, I was probably the most politically active and was sort of bringing that in. However - and, I think, rightly - we didn't become an issue-based band. Even when I was at my most active, I would like to think that I appreciated the separation of art and politics. Otherwise it becomes propaganda. The irony is, after I left, Jarvis became political and started writing songs about the miners' strike and I encouraged him to go on a demo for the first time in his life. I've got less left wing as he's become more left wing, 20 years too late. I wonder what we'll be up to in 20 years' time.
Despite rejoining Pulp for the reunion tour back in 2011, you chose not to continue with the band after that. What were your reasons for bowing out? First off, it was a romantic idea. The idea of resuming a career, that was kind of on the cards. There were a lot more offers than I'd accepted, but I like the poetic beauty of having every show special. In a way that seems kind of prissy, as it ended up with me not playing Sheffield Arena, as I don't enjoy it as a venue. In fact, I was trying to organise something up at Park Hill, but the timings were off. This is not about being a precious artiste. In that book we did an arena tour and I can't remember a thing about it, solely due to the fact it wasn't at all memorable. Whereas those little connections, like that guy in Strasburg, some schnapps after the show - that's what it's all about. It's very human stuff. Pulp was all about the human stuff, the smaller details. I will turn down more money than I've ever made in my life - and have - to maintain that purity. There you go, fuck it. I'm still poor!
What is the one thing that you want readers to take away from the book? I'd like them to feel that they got lost. I hate flashback stuff. There are also points where I don't remember where I was at a certain time. So I want people to get lost and feel like they're in it. I wanted people to walk in my shoes. I lead a normal life. I don't have a helicopter landing pad, I live in a three bedroom house, yet this massive thing happened. Imagine if it's you. You're about to go onstage. You're this middle-aged bloke and you've done this thing, used to be kind of glamorous. I also (and probably didn't succeed in this) didn't want the book to rely on too much 'hip inside knowledge', so that someone in 100 years time from now in Japan can get a sense of it, because it's sort of universal.
