As beautiful as these small towns along the river (!) are, whenever I start thinking, “What would it be like to live every day surrounded by such beauty?”, I’m (healthily?) reminded of Walker Percy and how my self would most likely also empty out these places in its efforts to sustain itself/“re-enter orbit”.

(listening to ghostly disembodied footsteps cross the floors of my haunted house): i keep hearing footsteps but there’s no one here. how interesting i wonder what could be causing that. maybe i am filling in a non patterned sound with a familiar pattern so instinctively that i am unaware of the process. obviously it’s not the soul of a dead human being pacing the room she died in because that would be a spirit and what on earth would spirits need footsteps for?

Tripped and fell into my old backups of screenshots and forum signature images and suchlike from back when I was playing EQ1 (for about a decade or so). Looked it up to see if it still exists; not only does it still exist, but it's now FTP, celebrating it's 25th anniversary, and my account logins appear to still be usable.

I find myself downloading and installing it; no desire to actually play it, but I'm curious if I can log on to one of my old characters and run around to see what Norrath looks like a decade+ since I was last in-game.

Woman-led intelligence-production is simply too variable for responsible, long-term data-modeling—never mind the generation of definite returns. It should be no surprise, then, that, at this stage in our economic development, a great bulk of time, energy and capital has been devoted to the problem of producing an intellect without having to kiss a girl.’

this is the objective truth and i will hold it as such until proven otherwise. he only has two things going for him: playing hockey and looking pretty, so obviously if the first one didn't pan out he'd have to use his other asset to its full advantage! honestly, i think the funniest part is that he'd be the worst trophy wife in the world anyway because he can't even cook - his skillset includes sitting on the counter kicking his feet and giggling while nico makes dinner :/ it's not fair to expect anything more from him!!
